- 0:00What shall I call this? I don't know.
- 0:04Coffee with Kenny is in the mornings.
- 0:07Dinner with Denny. Since I'm Kenny, Dinner with
- 0:11Denny will call me Denny. Dinner with Denny.
- 0:15All right, listen, because we talked about NASCAR, going to
- 0:20Mexico, got a lot of people, you know, wanting to know about my
- 0:25experience in Japan, so I thought I'd make a quick video.
- 0:29My experience in Japan was wonderful.
- 0:33Kim and I went over to Japan two times, flew over on JAL,
- 0:39Japanese. What was it called?
- 0:41Kim? Japan Airlines.
- 0:44Yeah, Japan Airlines. The people are so polite, so
- 0:50wonderful. Everything that we did in Japan
- 0:54was just a pleasure. I'm telling you, they're so
- 0:57polite and so nice over there. It really is shocking.
- 1:01Even so much to where when we landed back in Chicago, people
- 1:07in the Chicago airport were like rude.
- 1:11And I'm like, Oh my gosh, you know, just, you know, I'm not
- 1:15going to give any examples right now.
- 1:16Just very aggressive. So the food, I couldn't find
- 1:23anything to eat. I'm yelling because, Ken, did
- 1:27you eat anything over there? French fries.
- 1:31French fries. So listen, Kim ate French fries
- 1:37in Japan. I ate straight.
- 1:39What? And I lost a lot of weight.
- 1:41She said she lost a lot of weight.
- 1:43If you can make an appearance, please.
- 1:46I brought her back. What did I get you?
- 1:49What are you eating? Salad and sea potato.
- 1:53Yeah, I got her. I got her a potato at Texas.
- 1:57There she is. Come here.
- 1:58Put your beautiful face right here.
- 2:00So there's a lot of talk about Japan because, you know, the Cup
- 2:06series is going to Mexico City and people are asking me a lot
- 2:10of questions. So tell me about, you know, you
- 2:13and I went to Japan. You and KK Craven.
- 2:16She was married to Ricky. You guys went on a train.
- 2:20Tell me, tell us about that experience on the train in Japan
- 2:23where you couldn't figure the words out.
- 2:25Actually, it was like a bus, not a train.
- 2:28And they told us it'd be like 30 minutes for us to get into
- 2:33Tokyo. And we were on there like 10
- 2:35minutes. And it stopped.
- 2:37And a lot of little school kids got on.
- 2:41And of course, you know, we stuck out like a sore thumb.
- 2:44But anyhow, they got on and they thought we should get off.
- 2:47And I said no, no, we still have another 20 minutes to get there.
- 2:52So we started following the the drawings of their letters or
- 2:58whatever. Somehow.
- 3:00We we got there and we had a good time.
- 3:02We went and watched all the lady divers diving for.
- 3:07Pearls. Pearls.
- 3:08Yeah, you. We could buy pearls or tell us
- 3:10about your Pearl experience. I can't remember the exact, but
- 3:15they either drop the younger ones closer to shore and the
- 3:21older ones out further, or they drop the older ones closer to
- 3:26shore and the younger ones. There's a significance to that.
- 3:29But anyhow, they go. They go diving for all of the
- 3:33pearls. Real pearls.
- 3:37OK, so another thing, you know, like over here we have our God
- 3:41is I'll tell you one thing I learned about religion.
- 3:44This one here is a true Catholic.
- 3:46I mean, when I married her, everybody's Catholic, and that's
- 3:49just the way it is. And I'm a Lutheran and I love
- 3:52the Lord. But when you go over to Japan,
- 3:57what they got like a Buddha it one thing Japan taught me is
- 4:01that there's a lot of different beliefs all over the world.
- 4:06That was really awesome. And then and then the shoguns,
- 4:10like, that was interesting, too. Yeah.
- 4:11We went to like the palaces and their floors, like, like, OK,
- 4:17see the floor here? So like the floors over there,
- 4:21they would have little hooks in them.
- 4:23So like if somebody broke in your house at night, the floors
- 4:26would go. That would be their alarm.
- 4:30So you would know, well, the, what do you call them?
- 4:32Shoguns? Yeah, they, they would climb up
- 4:36into the roof and that's how they would.
- 4:38They were very, they were, they were soldiers.
- 4:41But, you know, that was different.
- 4:43We did a lot of touring, but the food, everything they do over
- 4:48there, Kim and I went to a a grocery store and and OK, just
- 4:53so they don't think I'm lying, tell them what you remember
- 4:56being in the grocery store. All kinds of raw fish,
- 5:00everything was cut open with the guts.
- 5:04Nothing. I don't know.
- 5:06You just have to acquire a taste for that, I think.
- 5:09But. Yeah, they, they had a octopus
- 5:12like we went in the grocery store.
- 5:14Like, I mean like an octopus, I guess.
- 5:16Let's eat an octopus tonight. Well.
- 5:19But some people do, you know, And so that's their culture and,
- 5:22and that's fine, but not for me. Yeah, so anyway, the whole time
- 5:28I'm on X here, I'm trying to be polite.
- 5:31I eat scrambled eggs the whole damn time I was there, and they
- 5:34have McDonald's there. So listen, Miller.
- 5:38Our regular. McDonald's.
- 5:39Yeah. No.
- 5:40So they don't have hamburger over there.
- 5:42Like if they do, it's a it's a big deal.
- 5:44It's like you're wealthy. So Miller Brewing?
- 5:47Rusty asked. You went right.
- 5:49Did you go to the Miller Brewing dinner?
- 5:51Oh, I did, though. So Rusty invites me and I go
- 5:55with the Miller Brewing people and just tell you a couple of
- 5:58experiences. So we go over there and, you
- 6:03know, we take our shoes off at the restaurant and, you know, we
- 6:06cross our legs and we sit down on the ground.
- 6:09And so I had chopsticks and, you know, you know, I'm not real
- 6:14good at using them, but, and they had rice.
- 6:17Well, I had to, I had to go to the bathroom.
- 6:19So I took my chopsticks and I just stuck them in the rice.
- 6:22I come back and they're like, Kenny, hold on, are you leaving?
- 6:25No, I'm right here. And and so they said, Kenny,
- 6:29you, you don't take your chopsticks and put them in the
- 6:33rice. That means the food's shit.
- 6:35No good. I went, Oh no, I didn't mean
- 6:37that. I just thought, I thought
- 6:39there's a pile of rice. I stuck, stuck my chopsticks in
- 6:43there. So if you go to Japan and you
- 6:45got chopsticks, don't stick them in something.
- 6:47Lay them down. So meat.
- 6:50So, so Japan is the size of California.
- 6:54Look at the king. But anyway, Japan is the size of
- 6:58California. So they don't have a lot of land
- 7:00over there, you know, So like cattle, that's, that's not
- 7:05there. You don't see cattle over there.
- 7:07I didn't see cattle over there. So they, I mean, minnows, like
- 7:14minnows are like French fries over there.
- 7:16So like, like if you want to eat French fries, you can eat
- 7:19minnows, like little bitty fish eat minnows.
- 7:27It was a great time. I think I finished 7th at Suzuka
- 7:32Circuit. I ran really well.
- 7:35My my car was sponsored by EA Sports.
- 7:39It's in the game and my buddy Tex Pal who died last year.
- 7:44I saw Tex's wife, Tex Pal's wife.
- 7:49Is it? Is it Tex Pal's wife?
- 7:51Isn't she a isn't she Chuck Bounds sister?
- 7:57I think so. But anyway, I saw miss, you
- 8:01know, the lady that was married to Tex.
- 8:03I saw her at the end of the Cal Petty charity ride.
- 8:06But anyway, Tex was my he owned the car and he was the crew
- 8:09chief. So I had a real good experience,
- 8:11ran real good. Now then that sure went back.
- 8:13I didn't do any good at Motiki. We were no good, but it was a
- 8:17wonderful experience to see culture different.
- 8:21But but here's the thing about Japan.
- 8:24They are so nice, very, very respectful people.
- 8:28All right. Hope you enjoyed that.
