- 0:09Speaker 3: It's time to go up a size.
- 0:11Speaker 2: This is the biggest.
- 0:12Speaker 3: The biggest. The biggest. This is the biggest. Our biggest show.
- 0:15Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase and Hoyt, Mike Minogue
- 0:18Speaker 1: and Keezy.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Big Show.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Oh, g'day you mad bastards. Great to have your company
- 0:28Speaker 4: this Friday morning. Wet and wild out there, isn't it?
- 0:33Speaker 4: It's the 18th of September, 2026, and you, my friends,
- 0:37Speaker 4: are listening to The Big Show Breakfast, brought to you
- 0:41Speaker 4: by Bunnings Trade.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Build big rewards with new PowerPass Pro Rewards by Bunnings.
- 0:48Speaker 4: I've got to say, Mogi, wearing it for the Waz,
- 0:51Speaker 4: it's a very, very tight fit, and I'm loving it.
- 0:55Speaker 3: How's life here, Stallion? Going pretty grouse, you mad dog,
- 0:59Speaker 3: you sick son of a bee. I'm aware I sound
- 1:01Speaker 3: quite nasally this morning.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Don't know why.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Well, it's because it's 6.02 in the morning, Mogi. That'll
- 1:08Speaker 4: be why. I've been up for hours, man. Yeah, I've
- 1:10Speaker 4: been up since three. Not happy about it. How are
- 1:14Speaker 4: you going, Keezy?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Hello. I was just going to talk about this Warriors
- 1:18Speaker 3: jersey you referred to, Jase. It's a woman's medium. Okay. Okay.
- 1:23Speaker 3: A woman's medium, but I'm loving it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Is that the secret?
- 1:26Speaker 3: That's the trick. Your outfit. Everything I wear is a
- 1:29Speaker 3: woman's medium. Except for my jeans, which are a woman's small. Yeah, nice.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Hot.
- 1:35Speaker 3: How are you, Keezy, you mad dog there with your
- 1:37Speaker 3: jacket on?
- 1:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I've got my Waz jacket on, fellas.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Wearing it for the Waz, fellas. Yeah, we are, mate.
- 1:42Speaker 3: That's right. It didn't work last week, and I'm a
- 1:45Speaker 3: bit worried there's a curse around it, to be completely honest. Yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 3: so am I, actually. Legit. It's never happened before.
- 1:51Speaker 4: No.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And there we are in the finals. Da-doosh. Smacked.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Boom, wear it for the Waz.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Company directive, which is great.
- 1:58Speaker 2: You know, I love seeing everyone in the offices wearing
- 2:00Speaker 2: all their Waz gear and stuff.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 2: But the thing I love about Waz fans is, remember
- 2:06Speaker 2: the Pinot Waz?
- 2:07Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Matt Heath had a casual joke about Pinot Waz. It
- 2:11Speaker 2: turned into a whole thing. And then as soon as
- 2:12Speaker 2: everyone picked this thing up and it was sponsored and
- 2:15Speaker 2: there was all this stuff going on, they started losing and.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Then everyone turned against it. Everyone jumped off the bandwagon.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I love it.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Waz fans are just like, nah, it's a curse.
- 2:23Speaker 3: It's a curse. I've got to be honest with you.
- 2:24Speaker 4: When I wore this the first time and I wore
- 2:26Speaker 4: it home, my wife said to me, are you going
- 2:29Speaker 4: to take that back? And I went, what do you mean?
- 2:31Speaker 4: And she said, Well, you should give it back. It's
- 2:33Speaker 4: not your shirt. Because I think she hated it.
- 2:36Speaker 5: What, you and that bitch?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Even though I look really hot, obviously.
- 2:40Speaker 2: But she'll look at you in your weird hoodie and
- 2:42Speaker 2: your duck shirt or whatever, and she'll just be like, yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 2: that's sweet ass.
- 2:44Speaker 3: She buys that for her. Well, she's used to that, Keezy.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 2:48Speaker 4: I tell you what, we have an absolutely massive show ahead.
- 2:57Speaker 6: What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
- 3:00Speaker 3: Tell you what, fellas, I'm pretty distraught this morning. Today
- 3:04Speaker 3: is the only day of the work week. Yeah. When
- 3:08Speaker 3: you're going to be able to get yourself into the
- 3:09Speaker 3: draw for Would You Rather. Your opportunity to win a
- 3:13Speaker 3: trip for two to Bathurst or the NRL Grand Final.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Listen out for the queue to call and give us
- 3:19Speaker 3: a bell on 0800 Hauraki. Also, fellas, because we're doing breakfast,
- 3:23Speaker 3: we get to do the throbber. Yeah, man. That's going
- 3:25Speaker 3: to be coming up later in the show. And old
- 3:27Speaker 3: Keezy over there.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Mad dog.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Hello.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Got the come dine with me menu revealed today. And
- 3:33Speaker 3: I've got to tell you, I'm worried.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It's got to be good.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Fellas, bring your appetites.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff, mate.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Shall we have a bit of music?
- 3:41Speaker 3: What do you think? Yeah, I think so.
- 3:45Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yes, indeed.
- 3:49Speaker 4: The exponents there on the Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning.
- 3:53Speaker 4: The time is 6.14.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Fellas, yesterday we discussed on the show that what time
- 3:58Speaker 2: do you leave your house, Jase?
- 3:59Speaker 4: Usually for breakfast, about sort of 20 past five, Keezy?
- 4:03Speaker 2: 20 past five in the morning, of course. You live
- 4:05Speaker 2: in an apartment in the CBD. It's about a 15-minute walk,
- 4:08Speaker 2: and it's pretty sketchy.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 4: It's pretty dodgy out there at that time of the day, mate,
- 4:12Speaker 4: to be honest.
- 4:13Speaker 5: You feel unsafe?
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yes, very much so.
- 4:15Speaker 2: And so yesterday on the show, we kind of discussed
- 4:17Speaker 2: the possibility of Pugs, our producer, who trained as a
- 4:22Speaker 2: security guard.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 5: You know, this is 10 years ago in Wellington.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I think it was an hour ago. An hour course. Yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 3: do like an hour course.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 3: And it's, I think they sort of take you through
- 4:33Speaker 3: stuff and would potentially talk to pugs about this, but
- 4:36Speaker 3: do you know how to put on your jacket? Oh, okay, yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 3: You know, do you know how to put on your shoes?
- 4:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Yes. Oh, we might have a stay here. Do you
- 4:45Speaker 3: know how to put on your name badge? Yes. Yes.
- 4:48Speaker 4: And here's your truncheon and your gun.
- 4:51Speaker 3: And your, what do you call it, your pepper spray?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Your pepper spray, yes. And your taser.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah. And to top it off, a nice beret. And
- 5:00Speaker 2: so we figured, look, Pugs has got the training. This
- 5:02Speaker 2: is a guy who's been in the trenches. Why don't
- 5:06Speaker 2: we get him to come to your house early, 4.30 a.m.,
- 5:08Speaker 2: arrive there, sort of patrol around a bit, make sure
- 5:11Speaker 2: the area is safe, and then you come out and
- 5:13Speaker 2: he escorts you to work. How'd that go today?
- 5:15Speaker 3: Because it's also raining.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Well, I actually saw him out there at about 4.30
- 5:20Speaker 4: talking to someone down on the park.
- 5:22Speaker 3: There, and he was ages, actually. Right.
- 5:25Speaker 4: And then they disappeared for a while, and then he
- 5:27Speaker 4: came back about, you know, 25, 30 minutes later, and
- 5:30Speaker 4: I was like, what was that about?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Bit of a pep in the steps? Yeah, I had
- 5:33Speaker 3: a bit of a.
- 5:34Speaker 4: A jaunty sort of step happening.
- 5:36Speaker 5: It might have been like an informant, though.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Well, it might have been.
- 5:39Speaker 4: But true story, my wife offered to drive me to
- 5:42Speaker 4: work today because it was pissing down so bad. And
- 5:44Speaker 4: I said, no, I can't do it, darling, because old
- 5:46Speaker 4: Pugsan's going to escort me.
- 5:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 4: So I can't sort of stand him up. But he did,
- 5:50Speaker 4: to his credit. And I felt very, very safe. Tucked
- 5:55Speaker 4: under the buzzy of Pugs.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Well, that's the question I wanted to know is because
- 5:58Speaker 2: we kind of spitballed how it would work. And we
- 6:00Speaker 2: kind of came up with the idea that not a
- 6:02Speaker 2: front pack, but a backpack. Yes. Where you'd sort of
- 6:04Speaker 2: be sitting in the back on Pugs' back with your
- 6:07Speaker 2: little legs dangling there.
- 6:08Speaker 5: And he would sort of run you to work.
- 6:10Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Whilst holding an umbrella this morning, I'm guessing.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Yes, well, he didn't have a backpack.
- 6:14Speaker 4: I just did the koala from the front and just
- 6:17Speaker 4: sort of held on, and I felt great.
- 6:18Speaker 3: It was amazing.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Did he do that thing he does where he closes
- 6:21Speaker 2: his jacket over you and tips it up?
- 6:23Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's smart. It was fantastic. That's smart. I
- 6:27Speaker 3: really appreciate it, Pugs. Thanks, mate.
- 6:28Speaker 5: And so do you prefer that?
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'm going to do it all the time now, even
- 6:31Speaker 4: if it's not raining.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Right, okay.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Even for the date, you know, for the drive show,
- 6:35Speaker 4: I'm going to do it.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough.
- 6:36Speaker 5: All right, well, I'm glad it worked, Jase.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Thanks, mate. Pugs looked stoked about it.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 3: He was into it.
- 6:42Speaker 5: He's got a real pep in his teeth.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he was weirdly into it.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Fellas, do you think we'll do what's on the breakfast?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Next?
- 6:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 6:49Speaker 2: We're not next, but we should start getting texts on 3483.
- 6:52Speaker 2: What are you having for breakfast this morning?
- 6:54Speaker 5: What's your name?
- 6:55Speaker 3: On a Friday.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Friday edition. What's your name? Where are you texting from?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Are you on your way to work? What are you doing? 3483,
- 7:01Speaker 2: let us know what you're having for breakfast.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Here's the Arctic Monkeys.
- 7:07Speaker 1: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 7:10Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Arctic monkeys there on the Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning.
- 7:16Speaker 4: The time is 6.21 and fellas, aren't we looking great
- 7:19Speaker 4: this morning?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Certainly are.
- 7:20Speaker 5: All of us wearing our Warriors gear.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Because today we are wearing it for the Waz again.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Last Friday, encouraging everyone, as they're getting ready in the morning,
- 7:30Speaker 2: to put on their Warriors gear. Just show a bit
- 7:32Speaker 2: of support.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Yeah, totally, man. And Mogies is a medium woman's shirt,
- 7:37Speaker 4: I believe.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Nothing wrong with that. And it fits him like a glove.
- 7:40Speaker 2: From where I'm sitting, he is spilling out.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he is. Yeah, it's good stuff. He's bulging.
- 7:46Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Wear it to work, school, the gym, the supermarket, wherever.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Why do they tell you where to wear it? Yeah,
- 7:52Speaker 2: it says here's some options of where you can wear it.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Whether you're in the office, on the tools, behind the wheel,
- 7:59Speaker 2: or in the classroom, pull on your Waz jersey or
- 8:02Speaker 2: merch for Wear It For The Waz.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I think if I was on the site there,
- 8:06Speaker 3: I don't think I'd wear my jersey. I'd wear a hat.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I'd wear a scarf.
- 8:11Speaker 4: I wouldn't want to get it dirty, you know what
- 8:12Speaker 4: I mean? Get stuff on it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I've got some Waz mittens. I'd probably wear that and
- 8:17Speaker 2: a scarf on the work site.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Well, my wife made you a Waz hat, but you
- 8:22Speaker 4: never wear it.
- 8:23Speaker 3: That's true. And she's really upset about that, Casey. And
- 8:25Speaker 3: you look really cool in it as well. It's amazing.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Jase, I wear it to the beach all the time.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It's got a towel on the inside, and so whenever
- 8:32Speaker 2: I go to the beach, I wear the hat with
- 8:34Speaker 2: my sunglasses, and then you can put it on and
- 8:36Speaker 2: it dries your hair.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Well, I said to her, can you make me a
- 8:38Speaker 4: hat like you made Keezy? And she said, why would
- 8:41Speaker 4: I even bother?
- 8:42Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 8:43Speaker 5: A Waz hat?
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 5: You wouldn't wear that. You hate the Waz.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I love the Waz. Excuse me. Are you not looking
- 8:49Speaker 3: at me, Keezy?
- 8:50Speaker 5: Yes, with the jersey you got for free from the
- 8:52Speaker 5: office here.
- 8:52Speaker 3: God, I look good too.
- 8:53Speaker 5: You do look good.
- 8:55Speaker 2: But make sure you do, if you're getting ready right now,
- 8:56Speaker 2: chuck on a bit of Waz gear, support the fellas.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Also, fellas, keep those texts coming in on 3483. What's
- 9:03Speaker 2: for breakfast, New Zealand? Pugs is putting together some prizes
- 9:05Speaker 2: over there.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah, nice.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And we're going to randomly dish some out on 3483.
- 9:08Speaker 2: So what are you having for breakfast this morning?
- 9:11Speaker 3: In the meantime... It's Nirvana.
- 9:15Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Nirvana there on the Big Show breakfast. Speaking of breakfast,
- 9:22Speaker 4: I'm looking at your little Tupperware container, Mokey.
- 9:25Speaker 3: How cute is that, Keezy? He's got a little bit
- 9:27Speaker 3: of bread, a little tamari, and a little half of avocado. Fellas,
- 9:33Speaker 3: yesterday I found myself getting a little bit hungry.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Peckish.
- 9:36Speaker 3: And distractingly hungry. And I was like, I can't concentrate
- 9:38Speaker 3: on the show. I had to go next door and
- 9:40Speaker 3: get myself a cheese scone.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Delicious it was, but I thought today I'm just going
- 9:44Speaker 3: to bring in a piece of sourdough, half an avocado.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And a little tomato. A little tomato, but what you
- 9:51Speaker 3: can't see there is I've got a fairly large knob
- 9:55Speaker 3: of butter. Right, okay. Doesn't look that big, to be honest.
- 9:59Speaker 3: What did you bring in, Keezy? I bet you've seen bigger, Keezy, 100%.
- 10:03Speaker 3: What foul concoction have you brought in? Nothing, Dave. Poppy seed? Nothing, nothing. What?
- 10:08Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Oh, you're talking about my
- 10:10Speaker 2: chia seed pudding from two months ago. No, I didn't
- 10:14Speaker 2: bring anything in today, just an up-and-go and a coffee.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 10:17Speaker 5: But I'll be sweet as.
- 10:18Speaker 2: But what we want to know is what are you
- 10:19Speaker 2: having for breakfast, New Zealand, on 3483? Pugs is putting
- 10:22Speaker 2: together a whore of a prize pack out there.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:24Speaker 2: He's going to start dishing them out randomly. So 3483,
- 10:28Speaker 2: what are you having for brekkie? And where are you
- 10:30Speaker 2: as well?
- 10:31Speaker 3: Might even send out the ass of my tomato because
- 10:33Speaker 3: that'll be left over after I have my piece of
- 10:35Speaker 3: toast there if you want the ass of that.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah, 3483.
- 10:39Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 10:42Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Sport Headlines with Bryn Rudkin.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Time for your latest Sport Headlines thanks to Export Ultra,
- 10:57Speaker 6: the beer for here. Otago flanker Lucas Casey has continued
- 11:01Speaker 6: his run of tries in consecutive NPC matches with a
- 11:04Speaker 6: ninth in a row. the most in succession by any
- 11:07Speaker 6: Ford in the competition's 50-year history.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Wow!
- 11:10Speaker 6: That came as part of a 50-21 win over Counties Monaco.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Brin Rodkin.
- 11:16Speaker 6: Compelling performances from golfer Ryan Fox's playing group in the
- 11:19Speaker 6: opening round of the European Tours PGA Championship at Wentworth.
- 11:23Speaker 6: Fox sits in a share of 7th after carting a
- 11:25Speaker 6: 4-under par 68. Aaron Rye is the joint leader at 6-under,
- 11:29Speaker 6: and Rory McIlroy is tied for 19th at 3-under.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Kinrod Brin. They just.
- 11:36Speaker 6: They're endless, aren't they, those stings? And the Brisbane Olympics
- 11:39Speaker 6: rowing and canoeing has been confirmed for Rockhampton's Fitzroy River,
- 11:43Speaker 6: despite concerns about rogue crocodiles.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Grim Nutskin.
- 11:49Speaker 6: That's a new one.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah. What was that one there, Keith? I think that's
- 11:51Speaker 3: a mogi special, that one. Grim Nutskin. Grim Nutskin. Yeah, nice.
- 11:57Speaker 2: That's what he goes by out in the office. Someone
- 11:58Speaker 2: called him that, and I was like, oh, it must
- 12:00Speaker 2: be his nickname. Grim, you.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Yes?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yes? You rode the City Rail Link yesterday.
- 12:06Speaker 3: I did, yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 5: I haven't been on it yet.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Beautiful.
- 12:08Speaker 2: The new train underneath Auckland City.
- 12:10Speaker 6: Yeah, it's just wonderful.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Underground, it's phenomenal.
- 12:13Speaker 5: First in the world.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Unbelievable. Yeah, first ever.
- 12:16Speaker 6: Yeah, world first, that one.
- 12:18Speaker 5: So where did you ride it?
- 12:19Speaker 6: Just up to one station, actually.
- 12:22Speaker 5: You went one stop?
- 12:23Speaker 6: Yeah, one stop. I actually didn't even leave the station.
- 12:26Speaker 6: I then just got back out. Because I parked my
- 12:28Speaker 6: car in the city, so I was a bit out
- 12:29Speaker 6: of the way.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Right, so you... My understanding is that you and your
- 12:34Speaker 3: hoodlum mate, you go on the train there and you
- 12:36Speaker 3: stand over people and you beat them up for their
- 12:37Speaker 3: phones and stuff. Is that true? Yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 6: I've got a lot of 16-year-olds that I'm friends with.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, nice stuff.
- 12:43Speaker 2: They're called the Nutskins. All right, good stuff, Bryn. Great review, mate,
- 12:47Speaker 2: of the old train there.
- 12:48Speaker 3: How many boozies out of five would you give the CRL?
- 12:52Speaker 6: Oh, I'd give it... Maybe 4.8. Wow.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Geez. Wow. Oh, wow. 4.8 buzzies.
- 13:00Speaker 6: I reckon give it a go this weekend, fellas.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah, okay.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Just the one stop?
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah, preferably.
- 13:05Speaker 5: About one kilometre?
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, it's not safe.
- 13:08Speaker 4: You know, there's hoodlums in the trains and stuff.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Yeah, it's dangerous.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Actually, I'll have to take pugs with me if I
- 13:14Speaker 4: do it.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, for security purposes.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 13:16Speaker 2: In case Grim Nutskin shows up and takes your lunch money. Thanks, Grim.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I'll see you in an hour's time.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Always a pleasure. Good on you, mate.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Here's the Black Keys. The Black Keys there on the
- 13:31Speaker 4: Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 6.38,
- 13:35Speaker 4: which means it's time for.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Hey, guys.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Text here from Steve.
- 13:40Speaker 3: What's on the breakfast?
- 13:42Speaker 2: With me, Keithy. That's right, text in 3483. What are
- 13:48Speaker 2: you having for breakfast this morning, New Zealand?
- 13:50Speaker 4: Just to let everyone know, by the way, Mogi bought
- 13:53Speaker 4: in a piece of bread, which he promptly burnt.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, a special little sourdough with avo and tamati.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Just ruined it. It's completely ruined. Inedible. So now I'm fuming.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 14:04Speaker 3: G'day, guys.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Nick here.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Cave.
- 14:08Speaker 3: What's his name there? Cave. Cave. Nick Ellis Cage.
- 14:13Speaker 2: It's Nick Ellis Cage.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Right, okay. G'day, guys.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Nick Ellis Cage here. Mandarin, a monster, and a Marlboro Red.
- 14:21Speaker 3: I don't like the sound of that Mandarin. Yeah, that's...
- 14:24Speaker 3: That's going to ruin my monster and my cigarette. Totally.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Throw that out the window, man. Get rid of it.
- 14:30Speaker 5: G'day there, fellas. Jack here.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Me off.
- 14:33Speaker 6: No.
- 14:35Speaker 3: All trades.
- 14:37Speaker 5: No, it's me off.
- 14:39Speaker 3: G'day, fellas.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Jack, me off here. Just in the work van, heading
- 14:43Speaker 2: down to the Tron for a bit of hard yakka.
- 14:46Speaker 2: For Brekkie, I picked up a Cordon Bleu and a
- 14:48Speaker 2: Bacon and Egg Quiche.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yum. That sounds amazing to me. I haven't had a
- 14:53Speaker 3: Cordon Bleu in so long. I've never had one in
- 14:55Speaker 3: my life. Not good, man.
- 14:56Speaker 4: I'd like an energy drink in there as well, though.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Like a Monster or something like that.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like a half a litre of it.
- 15:01Speaker 3: And a Pixie Caramel. Yeah. Obviously. G'day, guys. And a
- 15:05Speaker 3: couple of Durries.
- 15:07Speaker 5: G'day, guys. Matai here.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Oh, Matai Rini?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah. That's the one. Yes.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 15:15Speaker 2: For breakfast this morning, two pieces of Fraz toast, a
- 15:18Speaker 2: handful of hearty Watties baked beans, two fried butt nuggets
- 15:22Speaker 2: from the chook, must be an egg, topped with a
- 15:24Speaker 2: bit of Tom's sauce.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I'll be honest with you, I can't do a baked bean.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I love a baked bean myself.
- 15:34Speaker 4: But if I've got a baked bean set up with
- 15:37Speaker 4: my eggs, I'm not going to put sauce on. Because
- 15:40Speaker 4: I consider the baked beans to have the sauce.
- 15:42Speaker 5: My wife and I eat so many baked beans.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Like per week.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I reckon we're mowing through at least like, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 2: three cans.
- 15:48Speaker 3: You guys are just ripping ass all day long as well, eh?
- 15:51Speaker 5: Well, mostly all night long.
- 15:52Speaker 3: That's how they bond. Yeah, it is. They have a
- 15:55Speaker 3: little fart competition. Hey, it works. If that's the entertainment
- 16:03Speaker 3: that comes on with me, I'm going to be furious. Yeah, same.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Really?
- 16:07Speaker 3: But I'll join in.
- 16:08Speaker 2: But it's like an Italian tradition. I'm announcing the menu
- 16:11Speaker 2: after eight, by the way. G'day there, guys. JB here.
- 16:16Speaker 3: High five. Yes.
- 16:17Speaker 5: Yeah, JB, high five. Snapper and eggs.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Snapper? Fish and eggs.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Fish and eggs.
- 16:24Speaker 3: No. That is foul. No. Well, no, it's fish. That's disgusting.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Really?
- 16:31Speaker 4: Fish for breakfast?
- 16:32Speaker 3: I don't mind that. You can have a sardine.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah. See, I'd rather eat snapper than a sardine.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I can't do it with eggs, though. That's crook.
- 16:40Speaker 5: You know what you can have in the morning?
- 16:42Speaker 3: Fish fingers. Yes. Weirdly. You're right.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Between two bits of white bread and some tamati sauce
- 16:49Speaker 4: squeezed on.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Beautiful. G'day there, guys. No name attached to this one, guys. Oh, no,
- 16:57Speaker 2: it's Henry.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Kissinger.
- 16:59Speaker 6: Yep.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Oh, no, it's Matty. Kissinger. Yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 5: That's the one.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I'm having a watermelon and strawberry vape with a coffee.
- 17:08Speaker 2: That'll hold me till lunchtime when I have a fat
- 17:09Speaker 2: boy feed a chicken and chips.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Up the waz. Oh, backbone. Yeah, it is. She gets it.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Good stuff, man. Good stuff. Matty Dog.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Do you want another one?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah, quickly.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yes, indeed.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Welcome back to The Big Show. Breakfast this Friday morning.
- 17:29Speaker 4: The time is 6.47. Mogi, what's going on with your
- 17:32Speaker 4: tui that's been bugging you every morning?
- 17:35Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I mean, this is an issue I had
- 17:37Speaker 3: last year, isn't it, Jase, where we had the tui
- 17:40Speaker 3: that was sort of parked up in a big tree
- 17:42Speaker 3: out the back yard. But it starts to chirp and
- 17:45Speaker 3: then a tweet in there around about four o'clock in
- 17:46Speaker 3: the morning, particularly during spring and summer, disappeared over the
- 17:51Speaker 3: winter months. Haven't seen it for ages. I thought it
- 17:53Speaker 3: might have been hit by a car. That would have
- 17:55Speaker 3: been horrible. That would have been terrible.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Well, I know a lot of birds migrate and some
- 17:59Speaker 2: of them even change hemispheres and things like that.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I think that's more in your North Americas. Yeah, it's
- 18:04Speaker 3: not so much down here. Certainly not with a tui.
- 18:06Speaker 3: but I was hoping it had just gone to Waiheke
- 18:08Speaker 3: or something like that. Yes. Lots of nicer places it
- 18:10Speaker 3: could be living than around Waijuik keeping me awake.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Mogi, without a word of a lie, I was up
- 18:15Speaker 4: at three o'clock this morning sitting in my lounge and
- 18:19Speaker 4: what did I hear?
- 18:20Speaker 3: Yes. A tui.
- 18:23Speaker 4: And the weird thing about it is there's no real
- 18:26Speaker 4: trees around my joint.
- 18:27Speaker 3: The only trees there are palm trees.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:31Speaker 4: So what's a Tui doing in a palm tree at
- 18:33Speaker 4: three in the morning, for God's sake?
- 18:34Speaker 3: We're lying on you. That's what I've got in my
- 18:36Speaker 3: backyard is a palm tree. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, actually, no.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a palm tree near my house, and it's
- 18:42Speaker 5: full of birds.
- 18:42Speaker 3: They love it.
- 18:43Speaker 5: They absolutely love it.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Because I think maybe the hot... I'm not too sure
- 18:45Speaker 3: what it is. I'm not too sure. Oh, you're being serious.
- 18:48Speaker 3: A thousand percent, I am. Wow. A thousand percent. And
- 18:51Speaker 3: so anyway, the bastard chirps. Like nothing. And we came
- 18:54Speaker 3: up with the idea yesterday that we'd put a birdbath
- 18:56Speaker 3: in and a disco ball and a whole bunch of
- 19:00Speaker 3: things to try and distract it. Jacuzzi. A jacuzzi to
- 19:03Speaker 3: try and get it distracted. So it could actually, sorry,
- 19:06Speaker 3: so it could attract a mate. Yeah, because it's a dude.
- 19:09Speaker 3: But then I had a look there this morning because
- 19:10Speaker 3: the reason why it makes a noise, Keezy, is because
- 19:12Speaker 3: it's trying to attract a mate. It's horny. Anyway, it's
- 19:15Speaker 3: got four female tui in its nest as it is.
- 19:20Speaker 3: So I think what he's doing is skiding. When he's
- 19:22Speaker 3: chirping like that, he's telling the whole neighbourhood, he's like,
- 19:24Speaker 3: look at this. Have a gaze at this.
- 19:26Speaker 5: So he's running a bit of a Pugsan set up.
- 19:27Speaker 3: He is running an absolute Pugsan set up. He's got
- 19:30Speaker 3: it sorted, to be honest. The next step is going
- 19:32Speaker 3: to be ask a bit of advice off him. Far out. Yeah, nice.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Oh, it's good to hear that the Tui's doing well
- 19:38Speaker 2: or whatever and loving it.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Absolutely caning it. Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Sorry to hear that for you in your sleep, though.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Hey, how do you feel about a bit of she-hard?
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Let's do it.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Hold on.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune in weekdays
- 19:53Speaker 1: at 4.
- 19:55Speaker 4: She had there on the big show breakfast this Friday morning.
- 19:58Speaker 4: The time is 6.53.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Fellas, we've teamed up with the TAB to run the
- 20:01Speaker 2: three-way that pays. We joined together with a listener. We
- 20:05Speaker 2: choose two legs of a three-leg multi. They then choose
- 20:08Speaker 2: the third leg. We put $ 100 bonus cash onto it.
- 20:11Speaker 2: If it's successful, they take home the winnings. Now, we've
- 20:14Speaker 2: got a caller on the line.
- 20:15Speaker 5: G'day, Jackson.
- 20:16Speaker 3: How you going? Yeah, good, mate. How are you? Yeah, good. Thanks, mate.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Hey, tell me, Jackson, what do you do for a crust, mate?
- 20:22Speaker 3: I'm a builder. Oh, yeah. Backbone. Backbone.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Whereabouts in Christchurch are you, mate?
- 20:28Speaker 3: Prebbledon. Prebbledon.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Oh, fancy.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Is it? Yeah, nice.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Nice little spot there, Prebbledon.
- 20:33Speaker 2: So, Jackson, the way this works, I've chosen two legs
- 20:37Speaker 2: of a three-leg multi. Now, I have chosen the Warriors
- 20:40Speaker 2: to win and a Lafayette and a Can Pereira to
- 20:43Speaker 2: score a try, right? Because I want this thing to
- 20:45Speaker 2: hopefully come in. Can you tell me what your.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Third leg is? Okay, my third leg is Jacob Laban
- 20:55Speaker 3: to score.
- 20:56Speaker 5: Right, okay, Jacob Laban to score. Right, okay.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Off-air, Pugs was saying that you chose Tanner Stowers-Smith to score,
- 21:02Speaker 2: who I don't think has ever scored a try, ever.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I was thinking that, but then I thought, nah, money
- 21:09Speaker 3: boy Laban.
- 21:10Speaker 5: All right, sweet as. So that's going to pay $ 5.
- 21:11Speaker 1: 68.
- 21:11Speaker 2: If that comes in, mate, then you should be.
- 21:14Speaker 3: You'll be rich as, Jackson.
- 21:15Speaker 2: You'll be rich as. You'll be able to quit, man.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, totally.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Buy a second house in.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Prebledon, all right? Yeah, cheers, man. Up the waz. Up
- 21:22Speaker 3: the waz, mate.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Well done.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So that is locked in. That's a good multi, in
- 21:26Speaker 2: my opinion. Download the TAB app to get your bet
- 21:28Speaker 2: on T's and C's to play R18. Bet responsibly, fellas.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 21:32Speaker 2: How are you feeling about the waz game, Mogi?
- 21:34Speaker 3: Well, I'm feeling better about the Waz than I am
- 21:36Speaker 3: about your gambling keys. You say that's a good multi.
- 21:38Speaker 3: You've won one out of about a thousand bets that
- 21:41Speaker 3: you've put on. I was going to say maybe. But
- 21:43Speaker 3: I like your confidence, and I have confidence in the Waz.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I'll be completely honest with you. The evidence of the
- 21:49Speaker 3: last six weeks isn't great. No, it's not. It's not
- 21:52Speaker 3: at all. We are not a team that's getting better
- 21:54Speaker 3: and better week on week. There's a period where we were. So, look,
- 21:59Speaker 3: I feel like we should, but based on the last
- 22:01Speaker 3: time we played Newcastle, which was about a month ago,
- 22:04Speaker 3: They were 18-0 up or 16-0 up after about 10 minutes. Yes.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Then they had a player sent off for the entire game.
- 22:11Speaker 3: That's right. And we managed to scrape past them. They
- 22:15Speaker 3: played with 12 players for about 65, 60, 65 minutes,
- 22:20Speaker 3: and we just beat them. So, yeah, I don't know, man.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I've got to be honest with you. I think because
- 22:26Speaker 4: of their last game, they're going to come out fired up.
- 22:28Speaker 4: They're going to fire all their shots. So I'm feeling very...
- 22:33Speaker 4: Very confident.
- 22:34Speaker 3: They've certainly got the team to do it. They've got
- 22:35Speaker 3: the team to do it. They've got a team that
- 22:37Speaker 3: played unbelievably well against Penrith. My issue is we keep
- 22:40Speaker 3: seeing them play not particularly well and keep saying they're
- 22:43Speaker 3: going to come out fired up and then they don't really. But, jeez, God,
- 22:46Speaker 3: I hope they win, man, because it's one step closer
- 22:48Speaker 3: to the grand final, which I've got tickets and flights for.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Yeah, true that.
- 22:52Speaker 3: A bit of hole. A bit of hole?
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:57Speaker 6: OK. OK.
- 23:00Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 23:04Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 23:06Speaker 3: You're welcome back, you massive backbones.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Hope your Friday morning's absolutely going off. You're listening to
- 23:14Speaker 4: The Big Show Breakfast, incidentally. Brought to you by Bunnings Trade.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Build big rewards with new PowerPass Pro Rewards by Bunnings.
- 23:31Speaker 4: I actually might drop into Bunnings before I go to
- 23:34Speaker 4: your joint tomorrow, actually, Keezy.
- 23:36Speaker 3: A bit of stuff I need around the place. I
- 23:37Speaker 3: actually stopped in there on the way into work this morning. Oh,
- 23:40Speaker 3: you did? Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Was it open?
- 23:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 3: They're open all the time. Extraordinary. I know the guy
- 23:46Speaker 3: that runs the one out in Grey Lynn there, Eddie. Oh, Eddie?
- 23:50Speaker 3: He's a man. He opens it up for me. I've
- 23:52Speaker 3: got a toaster and a bird bath and a few beers.
- 24:00Speaker 3: At five in the morning. I was about 4.30. 4.30.
- 24:02Speaker 3: It was already up, and I thought I'd just go
- 24:05Speaker 3: to Bunnings. I've got a bit of time now before
- 24:07Speaker 3: I go to the radio. Yeah, right, so you called Eddie.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Gave Eddie a ring. He's already down there. He doesn't
- 24:12Speaker 3: really sleep, Eddie. Do you know what he does, man?
- 24:15Speaker 3: He lives and breathes the Bunnings Power Pass. Totally, man.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Is that what it's called?
- 24:21Speaker 5: The Power Pass Pro, yeah.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Wasn't he a big factor?
- 24:24Speaker 3: He doesn't, he hasn't got the Pro. He's like, I'm
- 24:26Speaker 3: old school. I'm just on the old Power Pass. Yeah, right. Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 2: It sounds like he should move to the pro and
- 24:32Speaker 2: build some big rewards.
- 24:34Speaker 3: You don't tell Eddie what to do, man. God, no.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Right, okay, well.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Why not? Why not? Oh, he's deaf. Oh. Yeah. Well,
- 24:47Speaker 3: not literally deaf. He just doesn't listen. Yeah. We call
- 24:50Speaker 3: him old deaf Eddie, but he's not really deaf. He
- 24:52Speaker 3: just can't be bothered, Keezy. Yeah, right. You know what
- 24:54Speaker 3: I mean?
- 24:54Speaker 2: But he'll be down there at four.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah. But he loves customer service.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:59Speaker 5: But he's old school.
- 25:00Speaker 4: You guys keen on a bit of bush?
- 25:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, they played last night. Last night, yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I wonder if Eddie went. 3483, if you went to
- 25:09Speaker 2: the gig, let us know how it was, by the way.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yes, please.
- 25:11Speaker 1: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 25:14Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki. One simple question.
- 25:19Speaker 1: One weekend of a lifetime.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Would you rather.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Yes, indeed, wars or cars, you decide, New Zealand. Just
- 25:27Speaker 4: a reminder too, by the way, if you don't get
- 25:29Speaker 4: in today, we're going to be doing it all through
- 25:31Speaker 4: the weekend as well because we're giving that prize away
- 25:34Speaker 4: Monday morning on breakfast, which is us.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Bloody exciting stuff there, fellas. We've been talking about it
- 25:40Speaker 3: for weeks and it's getting to the pointy end there.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Sure is.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Of course, it's Bathurst.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Mount Panorama or the NRL Grand Final, which the Waz
- 25:49Speaker 2: could be at.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Will be at.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Hopefully.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Damn it, they will be at it.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Boyship.co.nz putting every package together and it includes flights, accommodation, transfers,
- 26:01Speaker 2: little bonus goodies and things like that. So it's a
- 26:03Speaker 2: hell of a prize to win, fellas.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Let's go to the Lions. Yeah, let's do it. G'day, Richard,
- 26:06Speaker 3: you mad bastard. How's life?
- 26:09Speaker 6: You all good, Ian?
- 26:10Speaker 3: Good on you, mate.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Tell me, Richard, what do you do for a crust?
- 26:15Speaker 3: Uh, teacher. Oh, backbone. Backbone.
- 26:18Speaker 4: What sort of age are we talking here?
- 26:21Speaker 3: Oh, range. Actually, I'm assistant principal, so I don't really
- 26:24Speaker 3: teach too much. Oh, no. They're the bastards.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Yeah, good on you, man.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Well, they're bloody annoying kids, aren't they? Yeah. Do you
- 26:30Speaker 3: enjoy a good school production, mate? Uh, don't mind helping
- 26:35Speaker 3: out and watching. Oh, yeah, if you have to. Yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 3: good stuff. Good on you, mate. All right, Richard, what
- 26:40Speaker 3: are you going for? Uh, wars or cars? I'll go
- 26:44Speaker 3: for the NRL final. Yeah, good on you, mate. Grand final.
- 26:47Speaker 2: All right, Richard, you are in the draw, my friend.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Thank you. Good on you, mate. G'day, Jackie. How's life?
- 26:55Speaker 4: Good.
- 26:56Speaker 3: How are you guys?
- 26:56Speaker 4: Yeah, very good, thank you. Have you had brekkie yet, Jackie?
- 27:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Let's get in a cup of tea.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, nice. Wait, what was it?
- 27:04Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 27:05Speaker 3: Biscuit. Oh, now what biscuit are you rolling with for
- 27:09Speaker 3: breakfast these days there in there, Jackie? Just the raisin cookies. Oh,
- 27:14Speaker 3: a raisin cookie. Do you make those yourself?
- 27:17Speaker 2: No, not that good.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, good on you. Good on you. Now, when are
- 27:20Speaker 3: you going to eat again? Because a raisin cookie is
- 27:22Speaker 3: not going to see you through too long, I wouldn't
- 27:23Speaker 3: have thought. No, it'll see me through to lunch. Will it? Oh, wow.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Good on you. You're a backbone. What's for lunch?
- 27:29Speaker 5: Like a Shrewsbury?
- 27:31Speaker 3: Probably.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Jackie, the grand final or Bathurst?
- 27:35Speaker 3: Where are you headed?
- 27:36Speaker 6: Bathurst, please.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Good on you. Nice.
- 27:40Speaker 2: They have Bickies over at Mount Panorama, Jackie, so you'll
- 27:43Speaker 2: be fine.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Oh, that's great. You're sorted. You're in the draw.
- 27:47Speaker 5: You hold the line.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Good luck. Cheers. Good on you, Jackie. Well, she's a
- 27:51Speaker 3: cheap date, wouldn't she, old Jackie? Totally. A couple of biscuits.
- 27:54Speaker 3: I'm not a big fan of the raisin, though. You
- 27:57Speaker 3: know what I mean? Even in a biscuit.
- 27:59Speaker 5: That's what they're supposed to be, in biscuits.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I think they're supposed to be in one of those
- 28:03Speaker 3: little packets, those little sun-made packets of raisins. Yes. That
- 28:07Speaker 3: you take to school, and that's a little snack, and
- 28:09Speaker 3: you get your little... Your tiny little kid's finger in there. Yes.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I'm talking about when you were a kid, not some
- 28:14Speaker 3: other kid. And then you're digging out those little treats there,
- 28:18Speaker 3: chewing them down, then turn it into a whistle. Whistle, yeah, yeah,
- 28:21Speaker 3: I remember that. It's covered in spit and all that,
- 28:23Speaker 3: and then you just throw it on the classroom floor
- 28:25Speaker 3: or whatever. Oh, good.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Is it an Anzac bicky that has raisins in it?
- 28:30Speaker 3: No.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Isn't it?
- 28:32Speaker 3: No. It's got your coconut.
- 28:33Speaker 2: It's got like an oat kind of cookie with it.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:36Speaker 5: What is that?
- 28:38Speaker 3: A raisin biscuit? Come on, man. That's the one. Pull
- 28:41Speaker 3: yourself together, Keezy, for God's sake. Guns.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Mmm.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Roses.
- 28:48Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Guns.
- 28:53Speaker 6: Mmm.
- 28:53Speaker 4: Roses there on the Big Show breakfast this Friday morning.
- 28:57Speaker 4: The time is 7.25. Coming up very soon, the big
- 29:00Speaker 4: reveal for what's come dine with the fellas, the Keezy edition.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Come dine with the Feelers. That's right.
- 29:11Speaker 2: And for breakfast show listeners who aren't familiar, basically, Mogi,
- 29:15Speaker 2: you're obsessed with Come Dine With Me for a while there,
- 29:17Speaker 2: the TV show, British TV show.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Great show.
- 29:20Speaker 2: And so you decided it would be a good idea
- 29:22Speaker 2: for all of us to host Come Dine With Me.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Score it properly on your entree, your main, your dessert,
- 29:27Speaker 2: and entertainment as well. And we're sort of doing it
- 29:30Speaker 2: month by month. You started us off a couple of
- 29:32Speaker 2: months ago, Hot Pot Mogi.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Did a delicious Sichuan Chinese hot pot.
- 29:37Speaker 6: Yep.
- 29:38Speaker 5: It was very, very nice.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Jason.
- 29:40Speaker 2: You were most recent. You did a late winter Christmas.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I did. Little ham there and some taties.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Run of the mill sort of.
- 29:47Speaker 4: A very, very delicious meal it was.
- 29:50Speaker 2: A packet of champagne ham and just like some taties
- 29:53Speaker 2: and duck fat. It's my turn and my theme is
- 29:57Speaker 2: Italy because, Jase, you've never been to Italy and you
- 29:59Speaker 2: simply must go.
- 30:00Speaker 3: He's just sort of rubbing it in, isn't he? He
- 30:02Speaker 3: is a little bit. I'm not happy about it.
- 30:05Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Sweet, I'm sure. It's patronising. Yeah, cool. Can I put
- 30:08Speaker 3: it that way?
- 30:09Speaker 6: Yes.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Cool, am I going to get marked down for that,
- 30:11Speaker 5: for being patronising?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Already you are.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Okay, cool.
- 30:14Speaker 2: So the announcement's going to be happening soon of the
- 30:17Speaker 2: official menu. This is happening tomorrow. And if you haven't
- 30:19Speaker 2: seen either Mogi's or Jase's, come dine with me. Head
- 30:22Speaker 2: to the Hodaki Big Show Instagram there. They are pinned
- 30:25Speaker 2: to the top.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Watch them.
- 30:27Speaker 2: And you wrap your head around it for old Keezy's debut.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Yeah, he's under pressure, isn't he, Mogi? He really is.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Because we really nailed it. There's always one shitter. Yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 3: there's got to be one disaster for sure. No, there's
- 30:37Speaker 3: not going to be.
- 30:38Speaker 2: It's going to be great.
- 30:40Speaker 3: This should be good.
- 30:41Speaker 1: The Hauraki Breakfast with these Muppets.
- 30:53Speaker 6: Time for your latest sport headlines, thanks to Export Ultra,
- 30:56Speaker 6: the beer for here. Golfer Ryan Fox is within two
- 30:59Speaker 6: shots of the lead at the European Tours PGA Championship
- 31:02Speaker 6: after carding a four under par 68 during the opening
- 31:05Speaker 6: round at Wentworth.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Great stuff. Very good. Bryn Rudkin.
- 31:11Speaker 6: A late change could be brewing in the Knights' line-up
- 31:13Speaker 6: to play the Warriors on Sunday. Initially written off for
- 31:16Speaker 6: the season due to surgery, back-rower Dylan Lucas could now
- 31:20Speaker 6: recover just in time to face the Wires at Eden Park.
- 31:23Speaker 3: That's interesting. Because I heard the coach say that he
- 31:27Speaker 3: was no chance of playing.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Really?
- 31:30Speaker 3: And he said, oh, we might put him on the
- 31:32Speaker 3: six-man bench. Funny, isn't it? By the time you read it, Grim...
- 31:37Speaker 3: You completely changed the whole storyline and now he's starting.
- 31:40Speaker 3: You're a shocking bastard.
- 31:41Speaker 6: I just read what's on my emails here.
- 31:44Speaker 3: That's a phone. Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I'm not happy with you reading it from your phone either.
- 31:48Speaker 3: It should be on pieces of paper, like a proper,
- 31:50Speaker 3: proper bulletin.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Hard copy.
- 31:52Speaker 3: How are you going to finish off your sports roundup
- 31:55Speaker 3: if you don't, at the end of it, take your
- 31:57Speaker 3: pieces of paper and then tap them on the piece?
- 31:59Speaker 6: I have an issue with that because the printer access,
- 32:03Speaker 6: I was never given it. Oh, right.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Right, okay.
- 32:05Speaker 6: Yeah. I've got a printer at home.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Great.
- 32:07Speaker 3: We'll bring it in.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Could you wear a tie as well? Because it's just
- 32:11Speaker 4: not doing it.
- 32:12Speaker 3: For me at the moment. Well, I like the outfit
- 32:14Speaker 3: because he is wearing it for the while. Sorry to
- 32:15Speaker 3: talk about you like you're not here, Grim. Sorry about that, Rim.
- 32:18Speaker 3: But they've got a real pyjama vibe. They've got a
- 32:22Speaker 3: real silk pyjama vibe to them. And I don't come
- 32:24Speaker 3: into work to be aroused by the sports newsreader.
- 32:29Speaker 4: I don't mind it.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Guys, can we let Rim Butkin finish the news, please?
- 32:33Speaker 3: Rim Butkin.
- 32:35Speaker 6: Oh, we can just leave it there.
- 32:36Speaker 3: No, no.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I want to know the last one.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 32:39Speaker 6: I've got one more story here.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Are we ready? Yes.
- 32:42Speaker 6: The Brisbane Olympics rowing and canoeing has been confirmed for
- 32:46Speaker 6: the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton, but there are concerns about
- 32:49Speaker 6: the current flow as well as crocodiles.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Big butt face. They also have quite a few steamer issues.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Do they really? Some floating logs.
- 33:02Speaker 2: In the brown, what do they call it? The brown snake.
- 33:04Speaker 3: The brown snake. Hey, Bryn, if.
- 33:07Speaker 2: You were hosting a dinner party, man, and you had
- 33:08Speaker 2: to cook everyone a main, what would you make? What
- 33:11Speaker 2: are you good at cooking? Do you have a speciality?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Like a grim nutskin sort of go-to meal.
- 33:16Speaker 6: Do you know, I recently made an avocado cheesecake.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Oh, sounds foul. It was delicious. Oh, don't invite me
- 33:25Speaker 3: around to your place, thanks. Can you not? You can
- 33:27Speaker 3: invite me.
- 33:29Speaker 6: Would you come?
- 33:30Speaker 3: No. Oh, hell no.
- 33:31Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Soundgarden there on The Big Show.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Breakfast this Friday morning. The time is 7.38, which means
- 33:41Speaker 4: it's time for.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Come Dine With....
- 33:46Speaker 2: The Feelers.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 2: It's time for old Keezy to reveal the menu ahead
- 33:57Speaker 2: of tomorrow's Come Dine With Me, Keezy edition. We're going
- 34:01Speaker 2: to Italy, fellas.
- 34:03Speaker 3: We are going to Italy. Where is Italy? West Auckland,
- 34:05Speaker 3: isn't it?
- 34:05Speaker 2: Yes.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Deep West Auckland.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Just in Te Atatu there.
- 34:07Speaker 3: That's going to kind of kill the vibe for me,
- 34:09Speaker 3: but let's see what the menu is. Yes, for sure.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Just think of it as like the part of Italy
- 34:13Speaker 2: where it's kind of run by the gangs a wee bit.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Rough. And there's just like rubbish and stuff. Because there
- 34:19Speaker 2: are parts of Italy like that.
- 34:20Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 2: You get there and it's... Is there? 100%.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Wow.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Although not inside Tony's Trattoria.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Which is the.
- 34:30Speaker 2: The name of it there.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Hey, so for entree, for entree, all right?
- 34:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 34:39Speaker 2: We will be having margarita skewers.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Skew.
- 34:46Speaker 2: So it's got prosciutto ham on it there, cherry tomato, basil,
- 34:49Speaker 2: some beautiful buffalo mozzarella.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Nice.
- 34:52Speaker 2: So those are quite nice, refreshing.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Yeah. Good stuff, man. How many? I don't know.
- 34:59Speaker 2: However many it makes.
- 35:01Speaker 5: I haven't made it yet.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Right.
- 35:02Speaker 3: That's going to be interesting. Jeez, that's going to be
- 35:04Speaker 3: a disaster.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Cool. That's good stuff. For the main, and everyone in
- 35:13Speaker 2: Italy is eating this all the time.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Oh, God. A hearty beef lasagna.
- 35:19Speaker 6: Wow.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Just like Nonna used to make.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yeah, nice.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Now, the reason it's... The reason.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It's just like Nona used to make is because it is,
- 35:32Speaker 2: in fact, the recipe that my wife's mum makes.
- 35:36Speaker 3: That won't stop me giving it a three out of ten. No,
- 35:39Speaker 3: it'll probably encourage you to.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Vegetarian option, Tony's cannelloni.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah, nice.
- 35:45Speaker 2: It's a beautiful spinach ricotta cannelloni. Very, very nice recipe
- 35:50Speaker 2: that my wife and I have perfected over the years.
- 35:52Speaker 5: However, I made it this time. so it'll be interesting
- 35:54Speaker 5: to see how that goes have you already made.
- 35:55Speaker 4: It i made it last night right okay so it'll
- 35:58Speaker 4: be a bit old by the time it comes.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Out sure man just being being old doesn't mean it's
- 36:02Speaker 2: bad though jace yeah true uh and tonight i will
- 36:07Speaker 2: be making the dessert which is a tiramisu.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Oh you've kind of got to go there don't you yeah.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Nice because the thing with come dine with me is
- 36:14Speaker 2: you've got to like as you guys will know and
- 36:16Speaker 2: pugs you won't know this yet but you've got to
- 36:19Speaker 2: Make sure that everything can be cooked at the right time. Yes.
- 36:21Speaker 2: You know, because if I'm in there making a dessert
- 36:23Speaker 2: while you guys are, you know.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:25Speaker 2: That's not what you want.
- 36:26Speaker 3: No, man. Sounds good, Keezy.
- 36:28Speaker 5: Thoughts, feelings?
- 36:29Speaker 3: Yeah, good. Mike? Bloody good. I'm interested in the lasagna,
- 36:33Speaker 3: I've got to say. I'm interested in lasagna because that's very...
- 36:38Speaker 3: New Zealand Italian.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 36:40Speaker 4: It's very West Auckland Italian.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. It's like if I was going to somebody's
- 36:44Speaker 3: house in West Auckland and they said we're doing Italian night,
- 36:46Speaker 3: I'd think to myself, well, this bogan's going to make lasagna. Yeah.
- 36:49Speaker 3: And here we are. Well, it's funny because I was watching...
- 36:51Speaker 3: This bogan's making us lasagna.
- 36:52Speaker 2: I was watching Outrageous Fortune last night.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Were they doing that?
- 36:55Speaker 2: And Wolf West, who's on home detention, made a lasagna.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, cool.
- 37:00Speaker 3: How good?
- 37:02Speaker 2: And the West House is literally like a few hundred
- 37:04Speaker 2: metres away from my house.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Oh, it's good stuff. I can't wait. It's going to
- 37:07Speaker 3: be great. As we've already discussed, all joking aside, it's
- 37:10Speaker 3: a great chance to get together and have a feed. Yes.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Ourselves and the partners. And we don't do it enough.
- 37:16Speaker 3: So both occasions have been fantastic. It's going to be
- 37:19Speaker 3: great no matter what. And the great thing about it
- 37:21Speaker 3: is if the food's great, awesome. Yeah, bonus. If the
- 37:24Speaker 3: food's not great, even better. Yes. Oh, cool.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm so confident now heading into this, fellas. It's
- 37:31Speaker 2: going to be great.
- 37:35Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 37:38Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 37:44Speaker 4: It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Doosh, doosh. You're chasing like a gunslinger on that doosh, doosh. Yeah, man.
- 37:56Speaker 3: It's hilarious.
- 37:57Speaker 4: The Friday throbber. Some of you may be asking, what
- 38:01Speaker 4: is that exactly? Well, each of us here in the studio,
- 38:03Speaker 4: we choose a song to get you in the Friday mood,
- 38:06Speaker 4: don't we, fellas?
- 38:07Speaker 3: Yeah. We do. We just do. And we've been doing
- 38:11Speaker 3: it for years and years and years. We have, yes.
- 38:14Speaker 3: I think this is our sixth year of doing it.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Every single week, every single Friday, this is what we do.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Sometimes we've had ups, sometimes we've had downs. Yes, we have.
- 38:24Speaker 3: It feels like we're in a good period at the moment.
- 38:26Speaker 5: That's right.
- 38:26Speaker 2: The way you vote is you call us on 0800 HODAKI.
- 38:28Speaker 2: You tell us which song you want to hear played
- 38:30Speaker 2: in full. First to two votes wins, fellas. Who wants
- 38:33Speaker 2: to go first today?
- 38:34Speaker 3: Look, I'll go first. This is a ripper. I haven't
- 38:36Speaker 3: heard it for ages. Crank it up. It rules.
- 38:40Speaker 4: For my next number, I'd like to return to the classics.
- 38:43Speaker 3: A little bit of blind spot, a little bit of
- 38:52Speaker 3: nil by mouth, fellas. Great stuff, man.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Yeah, it is a tune, actually.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Jase, what about you, man?
- 39:02Speaker 3: Well, what I chose... Oh, God. This isn't going to be.
- 39:05Speaker 4: This is going to be the night after the game
- 39:07Speaker 4: on Sunday.
- 39:24Speaker 6: Yeah, boy.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Pill jam.
- 39:26Speaker 2: What are they?
- 39:26Speaker 3: Rearview mirror.
- 39:27Speaker 2: So the Knights are going to be in our rearview mirror.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah, man. That's good stuff. Thanks, mate.
- 39:32Speaker 2: That's great stuff, fellas. On the show, if in doubt,
- 39:35Speaker 2: pick Head Like a Hole.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm nodding off here.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Crying shame, head like a whole tune.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Tune. Great stuff. Well, you decide, New Zealand.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Give us a call now on 0800 Hauraki, and we'll
- 40:04Speaker 4: get into it after a bit of Queens of the
- 40:06Speaker 4: Stone Age.
- 40:08Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 40:13Speaker 3: It's the Hauraki Big Show's Friday Throbber. Douche, douche.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Yes, indeed, the Friday Throbber. Three tunes, I reckon, fellas.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Pretty good today. Oh, great tune. Yeah.
- 40:26Speaker 5: I'm happy regardless.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, let's play my first little
- 40:30Speaker 3: bit of Blindspot, a little bit of Nell by Mouth.
- 40:34Speaker 3: It's time to return to the classics.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Yeah, a bit of Blindspot. Don't mind it.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Love it.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Don't hear enough of it, to be honest.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Agree.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Jase? Yeah, bit of Pearl Jam. absolute tune absolute all-time
- 40:55Speaker 3: one of my favorite pill jam songs paid it from
- 40:59Speaker 3: the start though it's a mistake yeah you're.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Right he should have played it from the good bit
- 41:11Speaker 2: yeah yeah but that's okay he's learning wow he's not
- 41:14Speaker 2: really he's doing the same shit as always um hey
- 41:17Speaker 2: fellas i went head like a hole a crying shame.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Yes, indeed.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Well, you decide, New Zealand. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Brayden,
- 41:41Speaker 4: you mad bastard.
- 41:42Speaker 3: How's life? Good, good. How are we? Good, thanks, mate. Good, thanks.
- 41:46Speaker 3: What are you running with there, Brayden? Oh, I've got
- 41:49Speaker 3: to go with you, old jizz bot. Oh, okay, good stuff. Yeah,
- 41:52Speaker 3: good on you, mate.
- 41:53Speaker 5: Look at you, genuinely surprised.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I am. Can't believe it.
- 41:55Speaker 6: I am.
- 41:55Speaker 3: I thought he was going to go mokey. It's been
- 41:57Speaker 3: a while.
- 41:57Speaker 4: Thanks, Braden.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Good on you, Braden, you backbone. G'day, Brad, you mad bastard.
- 42:00Speaker 3: How's life? Oh, g'day, fellas. How we doing?
- 42:03Speaker 4: Yeah, good, thanks, mate.
- 42:04Speaker 3: How's the greens today? A bit wet?
- 42:07Speaker 2: No, they've dried up miraculously here, so give them a
- 42:11Speaker 2: wee trim the pews today and.
- 42:13Speaker 3: We'll be good. Yeah, nice stuff, mate. What are you
- 42:15Speaker 3: running with there? I'm going to go old.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Keezy.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Hey.
- 42:19Speaker 5: Good on you, Brad, the greenskeeper from Christchurch. You have
- 42:22Speaker 5: a good one, mate.
- 42:23Speaker 3: You too, Phil. Good on you, mate. G'day, Alex, you
- 42:26Speaker 3: mad bastard. How's life?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Oh, it's pretty good, mate.
- 42:28Speaker 3: How are you? Yeah, good, thanks, mate.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Good, good.
- 42:30Speaker 3: What are you running with there, Alex? It's got to
- 42:33Speaker 3: be Keezy.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Oh.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Hello, Alex. The douche.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Have a ripper, mate.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Oh, there you go. To be honest, man, it's been
- 42:41Speaker 5: a while.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it has. Yeah, I've been dominating, to be fair.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Feels like ages.
- 42:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 42:46Speaker 3: You must have had your hopes up there, Hoity J.
- 42:49Speaker 3: I feel like you're on the verge of a rare victory,
- 42:52Speaker 3: and then Keezy snaps it out of your grasp.
- 42:55Speaker 4: I try and stay neutral on this sort of stuff, Mogi.
- 42:58Speaker 3: You know what I mean? I don't get too emotional
- 43:00Speaker 3: about it.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Just play it, will you?
- 43:05Speaker 2: Head like a hole, the winner of the throbber.
- 43:07Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 43:11Speaker 1: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Yes, indeed.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Super groove there on the Big Show breakfast this Friday morning.
- 43:18Speaker 4: The time is 20 minutes past eight o'clock. Just a
- 43:20Speaker 4: quick score update on the throbber there because I've lost track, Keezy.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Have you?
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Okay, well, I don't know why you'd ask me that
- 43:27Speaker 2: because you're coming last. But Mogi's winning on 16 wins.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Keezy's second on 11 now with an asterisk.
- 43:33Speaker 6: Wow.
- 43:34Speaker 2: And, Jase, your coming third was seven wins, two asterisks
- 43:38Speaker 2: and a small D.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You happy we did that?
- 43:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's great stuff, fellas.
- 43:44Speaker 4: I still feel very confident, actually, that I'm going to
- 43:46Speaker 4: pull through by the end of the year.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Yeah, good luck. You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 2: So to beat Mogi, you'd have to win 10 straight throbbers.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Yes.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Well, probably 12 or 13 once you're taking into account
- 43:57Speaker 3: the two small d's and the two asterisks.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Which are, yeah, pretty much cheating, so you get a
- 44:02Speaker 2: point struck off.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Kind of, but not super, you know.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 44:05Speaker 2: We're not super strict on.
- 44:06Speaker 6: It, though.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Hey, now, Keezy, you're selling your house, or you've sold
- 44:10Speaker 4: your house, haven't you?
- 44:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I've sold, man, and I have to be out
- 44:12Speaker 5: by the end of October.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Yes.
- 44:14Speaker 2: And I don't really have anywhere to go at the moment,
- 44:16Speaker 2: so I'm hoping a good house pops up soon.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I've been thinking because I might have to
- 44:21Speaker 4: move out of my joint by the end of the year.
- 44:24Speaker 4: So we'll both be looking for a house. Yeah, the
- 44:26Speaker 4: apartment there. Thinking about maybe you and I pooling our resources,
- 44:30Speaker 4: you know, you with your cross the ditch sort of
- 44:32Speaker 4: money and me with my dog squad money. And, you know,
- 44:37Speaker 4: maybe moving in together.
- 44:39Speaker 2: You know you said the name of that five-year-old TV
- 44:41Speaker 2: show wrong. It's just The Ditch.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Oh, The Ditch, yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 5: And no one watched it.
- 44:43Speaker 2: That's why it's cancelled and I was fired. Right, so
- 44:46Speaker 2: what are your resources? Because you still own your house.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Yes, I do.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Whereas I'll be coming into it with a whole house
- 44:52Speaker 2: worth of sort of savings and you know what I mean?
- 44:54Speaker 4: Yes, but I'm thinking rental rather than buy.
- 44:58Speaker 5: So you think?
- 44:58Speaker 4: Because I don't want to buy a house with you
- 45:00Speaker 4: and find out that you're a piece of work to
- 45:02Speaker 4: live with.
- 45:02Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 45:03Speaker 4: I don't know how long I can put up with
- 45:05Speaker 4: a midnight steamer, for example. Well, why don't we just
- 45:08Speaker 4: not do it? Well, I just want to, you know,
- 45:10Speaker 4: I'll give you an opportunity.
- 45:11Speaker 3: An opportunity to what?
- 45:13Speaker 5: Move in with you?
- 45:14Speaker 2: This sounds like a terrible idea.
- 45:19Speaker 3: I wouldn't do it if I was you guys.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I can already see some tensions building up.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you're not even moving in together. Even
- 45:24Speaker 3: just suggesting it. The suggestion of it, and you're both
- 45:27Speaker 3: sort of firing up at each other. Yeah, totally.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Well, all he's done is say the TV show is
- 45:30Speaker 2: sacked from wrong, accuse me of doing midnight steamers, say
- 45:33Speaker 2: he just wants to rent because he thinks that it'll
- 45:35Speaker 2: be horrible to live with me.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 45:37Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 45:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Well, I mean, if you can't take a bit of
- 45:39Speaker 3: constructive criticism, Casey, then I think we just give the
- 45:42Speaker 3: whole thing a miss. Yeah, I mean, I was just
- 45:44Speaker 3: trying to help. I mean, I was trying to help out, Keezy.
- 45:47Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 45:47Speaker 3: I mean, you've got nowhere to go, Keezy. Jase has
- 45:49Speaker 3: kindly offered to move into a house with you, and
- 45:53Speaker 3: then you just fire up at him. No, no, no.
- 45:55Speaker 3: And on national radio. Yeah, totally, man.
- 45:57Speaker 5: No, you're right.
- 45:59Speaker 3: He's trying to find solutions here, and all you're finding
- 46:01Speaker 3: are problems.
- 46:02Speaker 4: And the thing is, too, I mean, how good would
- 46:04Speaker 4: it be if we finished the show, you know, in
- 46:06Speaker 4: the afternoon there, and then I go home and you've
- 46:09Speaker 4: cooked a hearty beef lasagna?
- 46:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:11Speaker 4: You know what I mean? In some margarita skewers. I mean,
- 46:15Speaker 4: I'd be fired up about that.
- 46:17Speaker 2: You're right. That does sound better than me and my
- 46:19Speaker 2: wife just moving into a place together.
- 46:21Speaker 5: Me cooking for you.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that'd be great.
- 46:23Speaker 2: And renting.
- 46:25Speaker 5: When I'm trying to buy something.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's good. Okay, let's do it, Jay.
- 46:27Speaker 5: Sorry to fire up, mate. That's actually a great idea.
- 46:29Speaker 3: I don't want to do it now, actually. Here's placebo.
- 46:34Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 46:48Speaker 6: Time for your latest sport headlines, thanks to Export Ultra,
- 46:51Speaker 6: the beer for here. The Breakers will be unleashing bombs
- 46:55Speaker 6: in basketball's ANBL this season. The club starts its season
- 46:58Speaker 6: at home against the Hawks this Sunday with a new coach,
- 47:01Speaker 6: line-up and attitude.
- 47:04Speaker 3: What was the first line there?
- 47:07Speaker 6: The Breakers will be unleashing bombs, Mogi.
- 47:09Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 47:12Speaker 6: I'm just reading what's on the paper here.
- 47:14Speaker 5: Who wrote what's on the paper?
- 47:16Speaker 6: I mean, I printed it. I finally got access to
- 47:19Speaker 6: the printers here.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Congratulations. Yeah, well done, man. I'm just wondering about that.
- 47:21Speaker 3: It's good stuff. There's a headline, they're releasing bombs, and
- 47:24Speaker 3: then there's nothing really in the story that says that
- 47:26Speaker 3: they are releasing bombs.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I think it's like a sports sort of colloquialism.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Right, they're releasing bombs. It means going poos. Oh, does it? Yeah. Steamers, right.
- 47:35Speaker 3: I don't know if that's... What, on the court?
- 47:39Speaker 2: No, I don't know, man. I have no idea.
- 47:41Speaker 4: Do you know, Bryn?
- 47:42Speaker 6: Look, it's an interesting thing you raise, but I'm going
- 47:45Speaker 6: to move on.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 47:46Speaker 6: If you don't mind.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 47:47Speaker 6: Otago have beaten Counties Monaco 50-21 to open round eight
- 47:53Speaker 6: of Rugby's NPC. Some good stuff happening there.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Jim Hobcap. Who was your man of the match in
- 47:59Speaker 3: that game there, Jim?
- 48:03Speaker 6: Old Tana.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Uwa.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:07Speaker 6: Mmm. And if you're thinking of buying a resold Warriors
- 48:11Speaker 6: ticket for Sunday's sold-out semi-final at Eden Park, be careful, Jase.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Be careful, Jase. Okay.
- 48:17Speaker 6: Some fans paid up to five times the original price
- 48:21Speaker 6: for tickets to last week's game.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Jase made an absolute fortune off that. Totally, man. He
- 48:26Speaker 3: sold about 1,000 tickets. Are you a scalper? Yeah, totally, man.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Money for jam, he calls it. And not five times,
- 48:33Speaker 3: ten times. Wow.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Because I tell you, I don't know if you guys
- 48:37Speaker 4: know this, but there's some rabid fans out there.
- 48:39Speaker 3: They'll pay anything for a Waz ticket. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:42Speaker 5: Do you feel bad, man?
- 48:43Speaker 4: Nah.
- 48:44Speaker 3: It's good stuff.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Where have you got the tickets from?
- 48:46Speaker 4: None of your business, Bryn.
- 48:48Speaker 3: The market decides the value. Exactly. So if people are
- 48:51Speaker 3: willing to pay it, is it such a bad thing? Yeah,
- 48:54Speaker 3: that's such a good point. Hey, Chimp Jungles. Chimp Jungles.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Thanks so much for coming in, man. We appreciate it.
- 49:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:01Speaker 5: We'll see you on Monday.
- 49:02Speaker 3: We'll see you on Monday. Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 49:04Speaker 4: Could you wear a tie when you come on Monday?
- 49:07Speaker 3: I'll see. I'll see. Yeah, good stuff, mate.
- 49:09Speaker 1: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike, and Keezy. Tune
- 49:12Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 49:14Speaker 4: It is a simple question. Was or cause is your choice?
- 49:18Speaker 4: And it's been going off this conversation.
- 49:20Speaker 6: Fellas.
- 49:20Speaker 4: We're going to make a big announcement on that on Monday.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Give it away. How good.
- 49:24Speaker 2: When you say wars or cars, man, what do you mean?
- 49:27Speaker 3: Bathurst or the NRL grand final? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Flights, accommodation, transfers, everything taken care of. You still confident, Mogi,
- 49:37Speaker 2: that the wars are going to be there, man?
- 49:40Speaker 6: No.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I'm not confident. I absolutely want to be there. Back them, yada, yada, yada.
- 49:47Speaker 3: It doesn't make you Judas if you don't have a
- 49:49Speaker 3: lot of faith. But based on current form, I'm not
- 49:53Speaker 3: really feeling it.
- 49:54Speaker 2: You've bought tickets.
- 49:56Speaker 3: That's how much I was feeling, man. I bought tickets
- 49:58Speaker 3: to the grand final. I bought flights. So I'm going.
- 50:01Speaker 3: It's all on. Evan and Geoff, if they're not there,
- 50:04Speaker 3: who wants to watch other teams play in then celebrate
- 50:08Speaker 3: a victory. The only good part would be watching the
- 50:10Speaker 3: team that lost. Yes. But you want them both to lose.
- 50:13Speaker 3: If it's not your team. I've got no interest in
- 50:15Speaker 3: watching other teams win a grand final.
- 50:16Speaker 5: So you will still go?
- 50:21Speaker 3: I'll probably go, but I won't go. I'll go to Sydney,
- 50:23Speaker 3: but I'm not going to go to the grand final.
- 50:24Speaker 3: I won't even watch it.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Just sell the tickets at an inflated price.
- 50:27Speaker 3: No, no. I'd rather deprive a fan of one of
- 50:30Speaker 3: the two teams the ability to see their team win
- 50:32Speaker 3: the grand final. That's what I'd rather do. That's great stuff. God,
- 50:35Speaker 3: we'd better win, man.
- 50:37Speaker 4: Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Ben, you mad bastard.
- 50:40Speaker 3: How's life? Yeah, g'day, fellas. Not bad. How are you? Yeah, good, thanks, mate.
- 50:44Speaker 3: What do you do for a crust, Ben? I am
- 50:47Speaker 3: a salesperson. Oh, God. Now, you've got a shocking product
- 50:53Speaker 3: that you're slinging there, man. Is it bad for humanity
- 50:56Speaker 3: or just individuals? It could be a bit of both.
- 50:59Speaker 3: It's beer. Oh, okay. Nothing wrong with that. Yeah, this guy.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Nothing wrong with that.
- 51:04Speaker 3: He's good as gold, Ben.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Hey, Ben, you thinking Bathurst or the NRL grand final, man?
- 51:09Speaker 3: I'm thinking NRL, and yeah, if the wires aren't there,
- 51:12Speaker 3: I'll just go salt in a pub somewhere. Yeah, sounds good, man.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Good stuff. All right, you are in the draw, Ben.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Good luck, mate.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Cheers, Bill.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Good on you, mate. G'day, Sean, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah,
- 51:24Speaker 3: not too bad, Hoity J.
- 51:25Speaker 5: Not too bad, mate.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Good on you, mate. What do you do for a crust?
- 51:30Speaker 3: Dog handler.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Oh, backbone.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Massive backbone.
- 51:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:34Speaker 3: How good.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Hey, Sean, are you thinking Bad Thirst or Grand Final?
- 51:38Speaker 3: It's got to be the wise, mate. It's got to
- 51:40Speaker 3: be the wise. Yeah, totally. He's got no doubts, man.
- 51:42Speaker 3: Who are you going to take with you if you
- 51:43Speaker 3: win there, Sean? It had to be his little brother.
- 51:46Speaker 5: He's a mad fan since way back.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Good stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good on you, Sean.
- 51:52Speaker 5: All right, you're in the draw, Sean.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Good luck, mate. Cheers, fellas. Good on you, mate. Thanks, mate.
- 51:56Speaker 5: Should we do a third person?
- 51:57Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it, man. Why not? G'day, Zach, you
- 51:59Speaker 3: mad bastard. How's life?
- 52:01Speaker 2: Not bad, fellas.
- 52:02Speaker 3: Yourself? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. Good, good. So you're in Christchurch.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Does that mean you're a builder?
- 52:08Speaker 6: Just a bloody machine operator, mate.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Backbone. Bloody backbone operator. Massive backbone.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Are you into your cars, Zach, or are you into
- 52:16Speaker 2: your rugby league?
- 52:18Speaker 3: Warriors 13 plus, mate. Oh, that's the spirit, man. That's
- 52:21Speaker 3: the spirit. Good stuff.
- 52:23Speaker 5: Okay, you're in the draw, Zach.
- 52:25Speaker 2: You hold the line, man. Good luck.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Cheers. All right.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Just a reminder, too, that we'll be pumping this over
- 52:31Speaker 4: the weekend. So if you haven't got in the draw yet...
- 52:34Speaker 4: The chance is Saturday, Sunday.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Yes, that's right.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Very, very good to get in the draw.
- 52:39Speaker 2: And then Monday morning we will be announcing it on
- 52:40Speaker 2: the Hauraki Breakfast Show. We will be hosting Brekkie for
- 52:44Speaker 2: one more day on the Monday there.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Oh, we're doing Monday, are we?
- 52:46Speaker 5: Yeah, is that all G?
- 52:48Speaker 3: Pretty busy on Monday.
- 52:49Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 52:52Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 52:54Speaker 4: Yes, indeed, the offspring there on the Big Show Breakfast
- 52:57Speaker 4: this Friday morning. The time is 8.49, which means it's
- 52:59Speaker 4: time for.
- 53:04Speaker 2: What's on the news? With me, Cheesy. Fellas, just reading
- 53:11Speaker 2: an article about a chap from Auckland who was a
- 53:14Speaker 2: car dealer.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Yes.
- 53:15Speaker 2: And he fled to Mexico because he was wanted by
- 53:18Speaker 2: the New Zealand police.
- 53:19Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 53:20Speaker 5: That was to do with drug trafficking.
- 53:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Now, while in Mexico, he was then arrested at one
- 53:24Speaker 2: of the airports there by the DEA in the United States.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Taken to the States and is now facing life imprisonment
- 53:32Speaker 2: in the States instead.
- 53:33Speaker 3: Right, okay. But I was just.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Thinking, like, you know, like, for example, Jase, if your
- 53:39Speaker 2: drug trafficking ring was found out.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Gets busted. Yeah.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Which hopefully it doesn't.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Well, it's Warriors scalping. He's mostly doing.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Oh, have you pivoted completely to Warriors tickets?
- 53:48Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 53:49Speaker 6: 70-30.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 53:50Speaker 2: So you're still slinging a bit. But if you had
- 53:53Speaker 2: to flee the country, where would you go?
- 53:55Speaker 4: Well, of course, Mexico is your go-to for a lot
- 53:57Speaker 4: of people, especially in the States.
- 54:00Speaker 3: I would, because I've thought about this. Well, it's because
- 54:02Speaker 3: it's over the border. Yeah, that's right. We don't have
- 54:04Speaker 3: the border. We don't.
- 54:06Speaker 4: I have to say push and shove.
- 54:10Speaker 3: If push came to shove.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 54:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Rather than push and shove. I'd go Vietnam. Vietnam, yeah, 100%. Yeah.
- 54:17Speaker 3: Cheap as chips.
- 54:18Speaker 2: It's the one place you've been.
- 54:20Speaker 3: And it's also a place where you can easily get lost.
- 54:23Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 54:24Speaker 4: No one would ever find you in Vietnam.
- 54:26Speaker 3: You did frequently. Even you couldn't find you in Vietnam
- 54:28Speaker 3: when you were there. Thank God for Google Maps. Yeah.
- 54:31Speaker 2: You were in a mall.
- 54:32Speaker 3: That's right. Or maybe Bali.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Bali?
- 54:38Speaker 3: Yes.
- 54:39Speaker 5: Just do a Vichy and go to Bali, I guess?
- 54:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:41Speaker 3: No, fair enough. What about you, Mogi? Look, I like
- 54:45Speaker 3: New Zealand. I like New Zealand, so I'd want to
- 54:48Speaker 3: stick around here. Maybe Kapiti, Kapiti Island. Oh, yes. Because
- 54:55Speaker 3: nobody goes there, you see. I'm sort of thinking, because
- 54:57Speaker 3: I've been watching a lot of the survivalist show alone. But,
- 55:02Speaker 3: of course, they've got sort of a little bit of
- 55:04Speaker 3: a nature reserve over there. Yes. Your kiwi, your kakapo,
- 55:10Speaker 3: your kea. et cetera. I reckon it'd be pretty good
- 55:14Speaker 3: eating over there. It's got the odd hut round there.
- 55:16Speaker 3: And one of those things where you could just sort
- 55:18Speaker 3: of sneak into, you know, the odd dock hut, that
- 55:22Speaker 3: sort of thing, and just sort of live that way.
- 55:24Speaker 3: And then I could just pop over to Paraparaumu, which
- 55:27Speaker 3: is just off the coast there, and still be able
- 55:29Speaker 3: to go to the movies, get a packet of darts,
- 55:32Speaker 3: et cetera, et cetera.
- 55:34Speaker 4: I've fantasised about, just on that, Mogi, Yeah. Just sort
- 55:39Speaker 4: of doing batches.
- 55:40Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 55:41Speaker 3: You know how people never go and stay in their batches?
- 55:43Speaker 6: Yes.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Rich Aucklanders have empty batches all over the country.
- 55:46Speaker 3: All over the shop.
- 55:46Speaker 4: So I would just sort of break in from batch
- 55:48Speaker 4: to batch to batch, maybe.
- 55:49Speaker 3: That would be my other alternative would be Waiheke Island. Nice.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Because we lived on a street over there, and there's
- 55:55Speaker 3: only four permanent residents. There's about 100 houses. So squatting.
- 55:59Speaker 3: They just sat empty the entire year, maybe a week
- 56:02Speaker 3: or two over the New Year's break, and that was
- 56:04Speaker 3: your lot. Yeah, good. So that would be me. That
- 56:06Speaker 3: would be me on it.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Just squatting in fancy... Houses.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Totally. What about you, Keezy?
- 56:11Speaker 5: I'd probably go to somewhere in Southeast Asia, I think.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Maybe a Thailand. Yeah, probably a Thailand, I think.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Bangkok.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 56:25Speaker 5: Oh, the place.
- 56:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, totally. 3483, where would you run away to
- 56:29Speaker 2: if the cops were after you?
- 56:31Speaker 3: Let us know. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Oh, a bit
- 56:35Speaker 3: of David Bowie for you.
- 56:39Speaker 1: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 56:42Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki. Your NRL finals
- 56:48Speaker 1: forecasts on the Hodaki Breakfast with TAB.
- 56:51Speaker 3: Yes, indeed.
- 56:53Speaker 4: I'm fizzing for this game, fellas. I'm very excited about it. Genuinely.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing. The Waa is playing Sunday, but
- 56:59Speaker 2: of course Saturday, the Roosters and the Sharks are also playing.
- 57:02Speaker 5: They're on the same predicament.
- 57:03Speaker 2: If they lose, they are out. If they win, they
- 57:04Speaker 2: are through to the next round of the finals. and
- 57:07Speaker 2: the finals forecast is with TAB. What happens is you
- 57:10Speaker 2: call through 0800 HODAKI, you instantly get $ 100 cash. You
- 57:13Speaker 2: also get $ 100 bonus cash, which we then put on
- 57:16Speaker 2: their finals footy prediction.
- 57:18Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, nice.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Let's go to the Lions now.
- 57:20Speaker 3: G'day, Gina. How's life? Life's great. It's Friday.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Yeah, too bloody right, Gina. What do you do for
- 57:27Speaker 4: a crust, by the way?
- 57:29Speaker 3: Great boarding in Port Export. Oh, yeah. Okay.
- 57:33Speaker 4: Okay.
- 57:33Speaker 3: Yellow. I'm hearing you, Gina.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Hey, Gina, so the great news is.
- 57:37Speaker 3: Mum's the word. Winks as good as a nod. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:40Speaker 3: it's all sweet.
- 57:42Speaker 2: Gina, you've won yourself $ 100 cash.
- 57:44Speaker 5: Instantly, all right?
- 57:45Speaker 2: You're also in the draw for the ultimate grand final
- 57:47Speaker 2: viewing setup of a Lazy Boy, a mini fridge, a
- 57:49Speaker 2: new TV, et cetera. However, you've got $ 100 bonus cash
- 57:53Speaker 2: to put on your finals prediction.
- 57:54Speaker 5: What's your prediction?
- 57:56Speaker 3: Going for the Sharkies, upset the Roosters.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Okay, Sharks to beat the Roosters tomorrow night. We'll lock
- 58:02Speaker 2: that in, Gina. You hold the line, and good luck.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 58:06Speaker 5: No worries.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Who do you think is going to win that game?
- 58:10Speaker 5: To be honest, I think the Roosters. The Sharks choke.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 58:13Speaker 2: They've always had a great team, but they seem to
- 58:15Speaker 2: choke a lot. I'm going to go Sharks because the
- 58:18Speaker 2: Roosters are hot and cold.
- 58:20Speaker 3: Honestly, totally. This is the thing with finals, man. God knows.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Absolutely no idea. You just don't know, Jase. You just
- 58:27Speaker 3: don't know. No.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Get your bet on. Finals footy with TAB. T's and
- 58:30Speaker 2: C's apply.
- 58:31Speaker 5: R18. Bet responsibly, of course.
- 58:33Speaker 2: A lot of people texting in as well, fellas, for
- 58:35Speaker 2: where they'd run away to if they had to flee
- 58:38Speaker 2: New Zealand and get away from the long arm of
- 58:39Speaker 2: the law. someone here saying that they would head straight
- 58:43Speaker 2: for Fiji to soak up some of the vitamin D.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Yeah, good call, good call. But I feel like Fiji
- 58:49Speaker 3: actually would be really good.
- 58:51Speaker 6: Yes.
- 58:51Speaker 3: You Samoa, you Fiji.
- 58:53Speaker 5: I feel like that's within reach of New Zealand police, though.
- 58:55Speaker 4: Wow.
- 58:56Speaker 3: I don't know how it all works. I'd never think
- 58:57Speaker 3: to look there, Keezy. That's the trick. And not if
- 58:59Speaker 3: you go bush.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Levi would probably hide somewhere around.
- 59:03Speaker 2: Oh, no, I probably shouldn't read that.
- 59:08Speaker 3: I think I know. Yeah, it's funny. it's funny. It's
- 59:10Speaker 3: good stuff.
- 59:12Speaker 2: Someone here would run away to prison. They'd never think
- 59:15Speaker 2: to look there.
- 59:16Speaker 3: That's true. Yeah, great call.
- 59:17Speaker 5: So if you just went to prison and hid, they'd
- 59:19Speaker 5: be like, where is this guy?
- 59:21Speaker 2: Oh, this is a good one. I'd run away and
- 59:24Speaker 2: hide in Jizzbot's honker because I'd never get found there.
- 59:30Speaker 3: That's where they found Osama bin Laden.
- 59:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Why didn't you tell anyone, Jase?
- 59:37Speaker 3: Bit of head like a hole, why not?
- 59:39Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 59:44Speaker 4: A jover kill there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show
- 59:47Speaker 4: breakfast this Friday morning.
- 59:51Speaker 3: What's on the telly with Mike Minogue. Yeah! That's right.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Last night, fellas, I went and saw a play. Oh,
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: how good. Should I say a school production? Oh. I
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: can't remember the name of it, but I can tell
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: you that the story, this is my daughter's school production.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: I just don't wander around seeing school productions.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: You've stopped doing that?
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: And it's about an astronaut, and she's out in space,
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: and she sees something interesting on one of the moons
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: of Jupiter. Okay, good. And there's a life form there.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Comes back, talks to the President of the United States,
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: who I was surprised to see get an appearance. And
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: they decide that they're going to go over there, they're
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: going to talk to the aliens and see if we
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: can move the entire human race over there because we're
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: buggered earth.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: This is a school play.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: This is a school play. I think it was, and
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: then the astronauts, they jump in the rocket ship and
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: off they go. They get lost. There's a whole lot
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: of misadventures that take place. Yes. And it seems to be,
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it was done in real time. Wow.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: It felt like it. But some incredible performances from some
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: young actors there. Great costumes. Really, really amazing stuff. Only
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: went for an hour and a half, which was disappointing.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: 330 primary school children, the entire school. Only 90 minutes.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Only 90 minutes. It was a shame. I was hoping
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: for two and a half, three hours. Look, five buzzies
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: out of five buzzies. Would I watch again? 100%. Yes.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: The best thing I've ever seen on a stage, and
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: I've seen plenty. Backbone, backbone, hashtag backbone. One time only.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: You can't see it again, even if you wanted to.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: So tough luck. Yeah, good stuff, mate. Good stuff. You
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: guys are not going to believe this.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: I was sitting on my couch last night, and I
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: was going, have an early one tonight, but then.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Lo and behold, it's old Sheena. Sheena comes on again.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: So that's the movie you've watched three times now from
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: the 80s with lots of nudity in it.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Yeah, there just happens to be a bit of nudity
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: in there, Keezy. I don't watch it specifically for that.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: What's the storyline then? Pardon?
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Last night, my wife and I, we're watching.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Well, hell, I am finished.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Okay, talk about the same movie you've watched three times.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: Go on. It's pretty hot.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: We watched another episode of Outrageous Fortune, watching the second
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: season at the moment. I've never seen it before. Highly
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: recommend if you haven't seen it, just watch it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: It's really good.
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: It's on TVNZ.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Have you finished your Broken Wood episode yet?
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: No, I just can't bring myself to.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I'm serious. Maybe how about this? That's amazing, isn't it?
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: When we come over tomorrow, we should all watch it.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: It's interesting because, you know, that's an episode that Jase
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: is in. It's pretty much all about Jase. Big effort
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: from you, you know. Yeah, massive effort. Tight friends over
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: the course of five, five and a half years. And
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: you will not watch a 90-minute episode. You just refuse
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: to support your mate. And he watches how many episodes
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: of The Ditch and the other one? Just over and
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: over again, The Ditch.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: I hosted Crowd Goes Wild last night. Did you watch it?
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: God, you were good. You were so good. But then
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I had to flick over to Sheena.
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: Who was I hosting with?
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Pardon?
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: Who was hosting with me?
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Oh, God, I never remember her name. I'm terrible with names.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: You're saying you only had eyes for Keezy.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's shot.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Okay, that's why I haven't finished it. My wife and
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: I watched an episode of Country Calendar, right? It's about
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: a farmer on the Chatham Islands.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Oh, great. That sounds good.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: So we tried to watch it the other night and
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: my mum and dad rang after about two minutes.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: So you just don't answer the phone. I had a
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: yarn with them for 30 minutes and then my wife
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: went to bed. And then last night we watched 10
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: minutes of it and then my wife was like, I'm
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: quite tired. And so it's taken us three stabs to
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: watch a 20-minute episode of Country Calendar.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Good ep though. Yeah.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: Four buzzies out of five, guys.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: So you're going to do a third review of that? Yeah,
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I'll let you know.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Well, he's doing a third review of his shit movie
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: from the 80s.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: Hey, it's quality, Keezy.
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: Do you like the hives?
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: Lenny Kravitz there on the Big Show Breakfast this Friday. Fellas,
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: do you know what I love about doing the breakfast show?
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: What's that? You're sitting in here and I'm.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: Watching all these people arriving at work just as I'm finishing.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: I didn't tell you this, but when I walked home
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: from the show yesterday and I was looking at all
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: the people going to work, I was just laughing in
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: their faces.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Really? I was like pointing at them and.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: Going, ha ha.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Like Nelson from The Simpsons.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Yeah, like Nelson. People wouldn't have known what was going
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: on though, would they? Because they're just going to work
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: and then there's some mad sort of lunatic guy. just
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: pointing at them and laughing. You must have looked insane
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: and homeless.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I do look a little bit insane and
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: I probably shouldn't be doing that given the threat that
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: I've got on the street at the moment with the farmers,
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: et cetera.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: But I just can't help myself.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: I see all these sad asses dragging their feet to
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: work and I'm like.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Ha, ha. Well, of course, Mo, you've got a full
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: day of work.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: I do, that's right. I go out of here and
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I go straight to my other work. Yes. That'll be
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: an all day. But I'm glad that I've got this
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: part Done. Over and done with. Obviously, we walk out
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: of here, we've got about three hours prep before we
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: have to, you know, for the show on Monday. But
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: after that, we're free as a bird. Yeah. Free as
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: a bird. Well, that's what people don't realise. They don't
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: get it.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: They think that we just come in and do three
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: or four hours of radio.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: And then straight out the door and straight home. And
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: straight home and just chill out. But that's not what happens. No, shit, no.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: Like, I heard one of the other stuff, I can't
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: remember what show it is. Maybe it's like Bree and
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Clint or something. I heard they show up like an
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: hour before.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: You're joking.
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: And then sort of.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Their producer half-ass throws some shit ideas on a piece
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: of paper and then they just sort of go in
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: there and get, you know, that's not.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: How you do radio, man.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: No, totally.
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: What does it fail to prepare? Prepare to fail.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, totally.
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: That's the show motto. That's right.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: That's why we're such a raging success. Well, that's right. Prep, prep,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: and more prep. Prep again. Backbone, backbone, my way.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Well, there you go, you mere bastards.
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: That's the big show Brekkie done and dusted this Friday
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: morning in the Disclaimer podcast, which is bonus content we
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: do before the show starts, isn't it, fellas?
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Certainly is, Jase. The podcast will come out later on today.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: And a reminder that we're on Brekkie again next week.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: But the Disclaimer today was recorded at 5.40 a.m.
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Feels like a week ago. Yeah, it does, doesn't it? Yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: And she was pretty full on for a Friday morning
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: at 5.40 a.m. Here's a clip about Jase having some beef.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: It's very early to start with the * * * * chat.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: Great.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: So you've offended the fuzz and now the.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: * * * *. Hell of a combination.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: God, I mean, I'm going to be an endangered species
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: on the street soon.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: So Jase, you've got a lot of beef with a
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: lot of people, man.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: Yeah, so who?
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: I didn't realise that, you know, but the more I talk,
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: the more I'm realising that I have a lot of
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: beef with a lot of people.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: A lot of haters. Yeah, a lot of haters. I
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: might have to start wearing.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: Like a costume or a moustache or something so people
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: don't recognise me on the streets, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: It also seemed to stem from when you said that
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: you saw a lot of people up the top of
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: the Sky Tower, a lot of farmers up there, and
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: you said they were crawling along on the floor because
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: they were scared they were going to fall off it. Yeah.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Because it's got that glass floor key. I don't know
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: if you've been up there.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Yeah, several times.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: It's pretty scary. It is. And then there, they really,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: they fired up from there. Yeah, they did, didn't they?
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Because the idea of a farmer sort of crawling around
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: on all fours at the top of the Sky Tower,
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: he's worried that he's going to fall off. Fall off, yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: I mean, it sort of seems like a, you know,
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: what would you say, like a caveman or something like that.
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: Yeah, man, for the past, certainly.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: It's bloody funny, though, I've got to be honest.

- 1:07:49Speaker 5: Don't have a big one, please. I need your bushy tail.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Oh, no, I won't be drinking. And I say that
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: before I drink. So who knows? But no, my absolute
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: priority is turning up. On a good night's sleep to
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: old Keezy's come to home with me experience tomorrow. That

- 1:08:11Speaker 4: home all day.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: So I've got to go home. I've got to stop
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: at Briscoe's and buy a few supplies.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: Yeah, nice.
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: And then, yeah, go home, make the dessert later on tonight.
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: And then I've got to come back to work here
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: and steal a couple of cheers.

- 1:08:43Speaker 3: Know what I mean? Without saying a word to anybody
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: in the office, just straight out the door. God, wouldn't
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: that be good?
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Well, we can't, fellas, so.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: And then, yeah, probably go home, do a bit of
