- 0:14Speaker 1: one zero seven tennis the number. Let's go to Bill
- 0:17Speaker 1: in Pennsylvania. Bill. How you doing?
- 0:20Speaker 3: How are you doing? Mark? You know I'm a longtime listener.
- 0:24Speaker 3: In fact, I was a listener before uh, you even
- 0:27Speaker 3: got on the radio because I was driving to town
- 0:30Speaker 3: taxi when you were going to Lead School Emerson. In
- 0:33Speaker 3: any case, I got a minute.
- 0:36Speaker 1: How would you know it was me when you're going
- 0:37Speaker 1: to Emerson? I was. I went to Emerson to college
- 0:40Speaker 1: in Boston.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I know you went to Emerson.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I drove, I was on the radio then. I was
- 0:45Speaker 1: on the radio when I was in college.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Oh, you're kidding me. We didn't have I didn't even
- 0:50Speaker 3: own a radio.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Sound like a really progressive guy.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I have a question for you. What is the three
- 1:01Speaker 3: most effective words in advertising? I'm auto a buyer.
- 1:09Speaker 1: You know, I assume one is free? No, well, wait
- 1:16Speaker 1: a minute, we're trusting you to have this right. What
- 1:18Speaker 1: are they?
- 1:20Speaker 3: Oh let me get let me just answer it.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Well, you got to answer it now because we're going
- 1:23Speaker 1: to be off the phone in.
- 1:24Speaker 3: About ten seconds, rinse and repeat.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Okay, great, I knew this was going to be a
- 1:29Speaker 1: waste of time. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 1:32Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, Yes, I had a snatch a question
- 1:38Speaker 4: for you. I know. When he made movies he was
- 1:41Speaker 4: pretty adamant about sort of one take, two takes at
- 1:45Speaker 4: the most, and he would begun. But in the studio
- 1:48Speaker 4: he seemed to be very, very fastidious, and he would do,
- 1:51Speaker 4: you know, tons of takes on on.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yes, there was a reason for that. The reason was
- 1:56Speaker 1: he was the most skilled musician in the world. He
- 1:59Speaker 1: was the great critic once said, like on a Mozartian level.
- 2:04Speaker 1: It was like Mozart, like somebody that comes along in
- 2:06Speaker 1: music once every couple hundred years. He was so skilled
- 2:09Speaker 1: in the studio, take after take after take to get
- 2:12Speaker 1: it perfect. But when it came to acting in movies,
- 2:15Speaker 1: he was an unbelievable natural actor. He knew he wasn't
- 2:18Speaker 1: a skilled professional actor. He was just a natural actor.
- 2:21Speaker 1: So he knew he couldn't do multiple takes and get
- 2:23Speaker 1: it right. His only shot was very natural, get it right,
- 2:27Speaker 1: you know, just make it real. He couldn't do repeat takes.
- 2:30Speaker 1: By the way, he in the first major albums in
- 2:34Speaker 1: the fifties, he would do seventy five one hundred takes.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But he he noticed he was burning out the musicians that.
- 2:41Speaker 4: I was going to ask, like, what was you know?
- 2:43Speaker 2: How did the musicians go?
- 2:44Speaker 4: I mean, they're working with the greatest, so of course
- 2:47Speaker 4: I'm sure he didn't quite too much.
- 2:48Speaker 1: But I've got you under my skin. That famous saxophone solo.
- 2:51Speaker 1: He said, when you got to take twenty seven, the
- 2:54Speaker 1: guy wasn't as good on his solo. So he realized
- 2:56Speaker 1: with musicians, you can only do about ten twelve takes.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That's it. Very good question, Mike. Let's go to Jack
- 3:03Speaker 1: in New Jersey. Jack, how you doing.
- 3:05Speaker 5: I'm doing fine, Mark, Thanks first time, coler. I've been
- 3:08Speaker 5: listening to you for a while. Two things I would
- 3:11Speaker 5: like to see is the first one is like you
- 3:14Speaker 5: need a Nick Shirley type of a person out there
- 3:17Speaker 5: to confront one of these protesters, like up in Minneapolis
- 3:21Speaker 5: to the ice protesters and say how many of your
- 3:25Speaker 5: neighbors would be interested in coming out if the shoes
- 3:28Speaker 5: on the other foot and you were in trouble with
- 3:30Speaker 5: the law. How many you think it would be out there?
- 3:32Speaker 1: Well, you sound like the most riveting programming. But I
- 3:35Speaker 1: get what you're saying. We need more Nick Shirley. He's
- 3:37Speaker 1: the guy that exposed the Somali fraud. I'm up to
- 3:40Speaker 1: nineteen billion of that fraud there in Minnesota. And you're right.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Need Nick Shirley everywhere. Need him in New York, need
- 3:48Speaker 1: them all over the place. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 3:51Speaker 1: how you.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Doing, Good morning, Mark Mac. I'm okay. I just wanted
- 3:55Speaker 2: to clarify what happened to me with the tariffs yesterday.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I only had ten seconds. I'm not against the tariffs
- 4:02Speaker 2: on the big corporations who cheat American workers, who place
- 4:07Speaker 2: massive tariffs on us. I'm just talking about these Pettieri
- 4:12Speaker 2: tariffs that, as I said, a woman sent me a
- 4:15Speaker 2: Christmas gift for sixty seven dollars and I even called
- 4:19Speaker 2: up UPS yesterday to get the calculation how they tabulated
- 4:24Speaker 2: the tariffs, the tariffs and fees for me to get
- 4:28Speaker 2: a package that I already owned because she paid for
- 4:31Speaker 2: it was ninety seven fifty cents. And I also heard
- 4:36Speaker 2: on Jimmy Faylor's show the other night the call in
- 4:39Speaker 2: section after ten, a lot of small businessmen were talking
- 4:44Speaker 2: about the same thing. And all I'm saying is is
- 4:47Speaker 2: that Trump needs to have his people retweeked this because
- 4:53Speaker 2: over the summer, when this woman came to stay at
- 4:57Speaker 2: my house.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Your house, what was this all about?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Well, she actually came with her husband.
- 5:03Speaker 1: No, there was no weirder.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Well, I lent to one of my apartments.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I say, well, Vincent, don't worry that that teriff's eventually
- 5:10Speaker 1: go away.
- 5:11Speaker 2: No, well, unfortunately it is hurting some little people.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Yeah, no it does.
- 5:15Speaker 2: But quite frankly, I know.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But Vincent, we get the same exact thing from Democrats.
- 5:20Speaker 1: They'll tear if you even more. They just call it
- 5:22Speaker 1: corporate tax.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So so, but tell me what how am I supposed
- 5:27Speaker 2: to feel about this? Not great?
- 5:28Speaker 1: But again, the tariffs go away eventually, But when the
- 5:32Speaker 1: Democrats are in power, they'll they'll put huge time by Vincent,
- 5:36Speaker 1: we got to go to do the news. Well, when
- 5:38Speaker 1: we come back, Roger Friedman will be with us next
- 5:41Speaker 1: lots of we'll talk to him about the Oscar nominations
- 5:43Speaker 1: and a whole lot more coming up on seven to
- 5:46Speaker 1: ten w R
