- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to uh eighty. It
- 0:14Speaker 2: was bo wow that prime time. Maybe I had a
- 0:18Speaker 2: crush on Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game. You're listening to to Godson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 1: It is to Gods and Company, presented by Fandel on
- 0:34Speaker 1: the Fanguls Sportsbook.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I could not believe a conversation.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We're still having a conversation about whether or not we
- 0:41Speaker 1: like Major League Baseball's All Star Game.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Mike is laughing. It's a topic as old as sports
- 0:48Speaker 2: radio itself. I turned on Netflix last night Stue and
- 0:51Speaker 2: I saw the home run Derby, and I was like, Oh, good,
- 0:55Speaker 2: they're they're promoting it for next week. I had no
- 0:57Speaker 2: idea that this was All Star week. I know it's
- 1:00Speaker 2: because that didn't work last week, or I just don't
- 1:02Speaker 2: really like baseball, but I was pretty surprised by it.
- 1:05Speaker 2: It's a weird time of year. What do you got, Well,
- 1:07Speaker 2: the problem.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Isn't that we're having the conversation. It seems to me
- 1:11Speaker 3: like the players are starting to have that conversation because
- 1:14Speaker 3: there's already two big name pitchers that are like, thanks,
- 1:17Speaker 3: but I'm not gonna play.
- 1:19Speaker 2: No, thank you.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Zach Wheeler was one of them. The other one was
- 1:21Speaker 1: Cam Schlitler, Right, yep.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Cam Schlitzler said, you know, I appreciate the honor, but yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 3: don't throw me. I'm not going to pitch.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'd rather the days off. Can you appreciate the honor
- 1:31Speaker 2: and then say don't throw me? Yeah? The Paul Taylor. Taylor,
- 1:37Speaker 2: how do you feel about your guy Schlitler not wanting
- 1:39Speaker 2: to pitch in the All Star Game?
- 1:40Speaker 4: As a fan, I understand where he's coming from. Pitching
- 1:44Speaker 4: is a completely different thing when it comes to the
- 1:47Speaker 4: All Star Game. Like Cam Schlittler's off day is supposed
- 1:49Speaker 4: to be the All Star Game, So asking him to
- 1:52Speaker 4: go out there and ramp it up and try to
- 1:53Speaker 4: throw one hundred miles per hour in a meaningless game.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Yankees have big, bigger things to worry about than Can
- 2:00Speaker 4: Slitler going out and pitching an All Star Game. So,
- 2:02Speaker 4: while I do agree it's an honor to make it
- 2:04Speaker 4: to the All Star Game, we don't need Cam Shuler throwing.
- 2:07Speaker 3: What if I told you that the highest honor the
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yankees could get this year is All Star m VP,
- 2:12Speaker 3: and Cam Schlitzler is your best chance.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, the American League is still incredibly weak.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yankees have the second best World Series odds if the Yankees.
- 2:21Speaker 4: If you take Cam Schlitzler out of the Yankees' rotation,
- 2:25Speaker 4: you'll see where the where their odds are.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Hang on a second off day. Pitchers have four off days.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I mean, that's supposed to be an off day. It's
- 2:34Speaker 2: not starting.
- 2:35Speaker 3: It's enough bullpen days. They have bullpen days, they have.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Work, they have convery day bullpen day.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you could flip one of those.
- 2:44Speaker 1: One might argue the World Baseball Classic is meaningless baseball.
- 2:48Speaker 2: In fact, Paul Skeins did, and yet it's the only
- 2:52Speaker 2: baseball I remember.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Right, But tell that so it's it's very selective what
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're doing here. You want them pitching in the World
- 2:58Speaker 1: Baseball Classic, which is meaningless, but you don't want him
- 3:02Speaker 1: accepting an invitation to pitch in the All Star Game.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I mean the the World Baseball Classic was just replacing
- 3:09Speaker 4: your spring training starts, right. Pitching in the All Star
- 3:13Speaker 4: Game is replacing getting ready for posty.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yes, you go in.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It's a breeze, it's it's got thirty pitches in and out,
- 3:24Speaker 1: two winnings.
- 3:24Speaker 2: He you later. I mean, it's an honor.
- 3:26Speaker 3: You started that sentence with a point, and by the
- 3:29Speaker 3: time you got halfway through, you're like, uh oh uh oh.
- 3:33Speaker 4: If he's going out there and throwing batting practice in
- 3:36Speaker 4: the All Star Game, okay, then then that's fine. Like
- 3:38Speaker 4: go out there and toss seventy miles per hour the
- 3:41Speaker 4: way Ben Rice's dad was doing to him for for
- 3:44Speaker 4: the the home run Derby. Also, if the home run
- 3:48Speaker 4: Derby was a ground ground ball derby, Ben Rice would
- 3:52Speaker 4: have ran away.
- 3:52Speaker 2: With that double.
- 3:55Speaker 1: In a ground ball derby, would Ben Rice have run
- 3:58Speaker 1: away with it?
- 3:59Speaker 4: Nobody was hitting grind balls last night like Ben Rice.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'm just now learning Ben Rice is the Yankees first baseman.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Yankees first baseman, got it. He looks like a child.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Wait, but you guys seem to be into the home
- 4:12Speaker 1: run Derby. You guys seem to enjoy it. What happened there?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Is what happened to me. I didn't really, I didn't
- 4:18Speaker 2: watch it. I didn't. I'm shocked that you liked it.
- 4:19Speaker 2: You enjoyed anything baseball, To be honest with you, No, yeah, no,
- 4:23Speaker 2: I heard it was good. I heard somebody came out
- 4:27Speaker 2: and beat Schwarber and the Phillies fans were very mad
- 4:30Speaker 2: about that. And I heard that he made a million dollars,
- 4:33Speaker 2: which is more than his annual salary. But I didn't
- 4:35Speaker 2: watch any of it. Okay, well, I apologize it.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I heard from Izzy that it was exciting, but he
- 4:39Speaker 1: heard it from somebody else who told him it was exciting.
- 4:41Speaker 2: So none of us watched it. That's great, except for
- 4:43Speaker 2: Taylor and Mikey.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I watched. I watched, so I gotta be honest.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I did watch the home run Derby.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I don't like the Philly fans bull was it contrarasts
- 4:51Speaker 1: the red soccer was up there, Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And they did.
- 4:53Speaker 3: He got a pitch inside and they cheered.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I mean it made it fairly entertaining. But Philly fans
- 4:59Speaker 1: are dicks.
- 5:01Speaker 2: No.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Actually, I thought that was the best part of the
- 5:03Speaker 4: home run derby, where you got a Philly to the finals.
- 5:06Speaker 4: In Kyle Schwarber, and then Kyle Schwarber goes first sets
- 5:09Speaker 4: the bar for what Jordan Walker has the top, and
- 5:11Speaker 4: then every pitch the Philly fans were acting like it
- 5:14Speaker 4: was Game seven of the World Series, trying to boo
- 5:16Speaker 4: Jordan Walker and getting Jordan Walker's head. Jordan Walker homers
- 5:20Speaker 4: on his last six swings to win the home run derby,
- 5:24Speaker 4: where his salary this season is less than eight hundred
- 5:27Speaker 4: thousand dollars. He wins a million dollar bonus for winning
- 5:30Speaker 4: the home run derby. A nice night for Jordan Walker. Yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 4: the broadcast started off very slow for Netflix. It did
- 5:37Speaker 4: not seem like it was gonna be a good night
- 5:39Speaker 4: for Netflix. They seemed confused at how many different camera
- 5:43Speaker 4: angles they had and which ones were working, because the
- 5:46Speaker 4: one they kept going to was the close up shot
- 5:49Speaker 4: of the batter, and everybody online was like, hey, we
- 5:52Speaker 4: want to see where the ball is going. We're not
- 5:55Speaker 4: really interested in seeing the batter's faces during a home
- 5:58Speaker 4: run derby.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It feels like act their problem.
- 6:03Speaker 1: It seems like to work out the kinks problem for Netflix,
- 6:05Speaker 1: Like it is interesting, don't you trust them to kind
- 6:08Speaker 1: of because they have a lot of money, because they're
- 6:11Speaker 1: they're seriously vested invested in sports. Uh don't you trust
- 6:15Speaker 1: Netflix to eventually because they've had some hip hops here
- 6:18Speaker 1: early on, is he don't you try, Mikey.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Don't you?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Don't you guys trust them to kind of get it
- 6:22Speaker 1: right eventually, Netflix just because of the money and the
- 6:25Speaker 1: talent that they've that they've kind of put together there.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it just seems to me like they brought in
- 6:30Speaker 3: a movie director to direct a live baseball event and
- 6:33Speaker 3: they were like, no, no, no, no, I want to get
- 6:34Speaker 3: a close up of the reaction. I want to see
- 6:37Speaker 3: the pain and the joy in his face. And it's like, no, man,
- 6:39Speaker 3: we just want to watch the ballfly.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You just want to go say ooh, that's a big
- 6:43Speaker 1: one right at the end.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I like the idea of something different, something that makes
- 6:48Speaker 2: it seem cinematic. I think there was is it the
- 6:51Speaker 2: Mariners or somebody in baseball in Major League Baseball that
- 6:54Speaker 2: just does a great job with some of their scenics
- 6:56Speaker 2: and stuff and how they show the game. But yeah,
- 6:59Speaker 2: you got to at the basics right first, you know,
- 7:02Speaker 2: knock that out the park, and then you can sort
- 7:03Speaker 2: of explore, right.
- 7:05Speaker 4: My moment of the night last night and the All
- 7:07Speaker 4: Star Game was after the home run derby was after
- 7:10Speaker 4: the home run derby where they're interviewing Jordan Walker and
- 7:13Speaker 4: they've got a roundtable of El Duncan, Barry Bonds, Albert Pujos,
- 7:17Speaker 4: and Anthony Rizzo all interviewing him. It's Barry Bonds's turn
- 7:21Speaker 4: to ask a question, and Barry Bonds, after watching Jordan
- 7:26Speaker 4: Walker hit a home run on his last six swings,
- 7:29Speaker 4: is getting emotional talking about the power of home runs,
- 7:33Speaker 4: and Barry Bond's like how to stop himself? Because I
- 7:35Speaker 4: was like, is Barry Bond smelled to cry right now
- 7:37Speaker 4: asking about hitting home runs? And then that got me thinking, Stu,
- 7:41Speaker 4: could Barry Bonds way to the Hall of Fame be
- 7:43Speaker 4: as a broadcaster?
- 7:45Speaker 2: Wow? Just keep crying every time he talks about home runs.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Just has a hard time finishing.
- 7:52Speaker 4: If we fast forward fifteen years and Barry Bonds becomes
- 7:56Speaker 4: the guy on these Netflix broadcasts, I think we have
- 7:59Speaker 4: to have the conversation again, is Barry Bond's doing enough
- 8:02Speaker 4: to become a Hall of Famer?
- 8:04Speaker 1: Put it on the pall as Barry Bond's finding a
- 8:06Speaker 1: different path into cooper'stown, Because maybe you're right if he
- 8:11Speaker 1: sticks around enough, if he's emotional enough, if he cries enough,
- 8:16Speaker 1: perhaps you will find himself in Cooper's down, where he
- 8:20Speaker 1: should already be. Is Bond's good I haven't seen it.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I have to be honest. Is Bond's good at broadcasting?
- 8:27Speaker 3: I'm just trying to think of what a ped is
- 8:29Speaker 3: for broadcasting right now? Is it, like ozenbic.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Man, a good one. I do find it funny that if, like,
- 8:39Speaker 2: if he was acting like if he's just trying to
- 8:41Speaker 2: get emotional, just trying to make it a more dramatic broadcast.
- 8:46Speaker 2: But no, I don't see a path for him. I
- 8:49Speaker 2: think the value of the home run makes him emotional.
- 8:51Speaker 1: He was this great player or three time MVP with Pittsburgh,
- 8:54Speaker 1: hitting thirty homers a year. He didn't have to hit sixty,
- 8:57Speaker 1: None cared if he hit sixty, and then all of
- 8:59Speaker 1: a sudden, two guys that he viewed weren't nearly as
- 9:01Speaker 1: good as he was.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It's Sammy, so said Mark maguire.
- 9:05Speaker 1: They started getting all the press, they started getting all
- 9:07Speaker 1: the front pages, they started getting the magazine covers, they
- 9:10Speaker 1: started getting everything, simply because they were hitting more home
- 9:13Speaker 1: runs than Bonds and bombs was like, hey, bleep you guys,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna take steroids here because I'm better than you
- 9:19Speaker 1: without steroids. But if all people want to see his
- 9:22Speaker 1: home runs, then I'm going to take them and give
- 9:24Speaker 1: him home runs. And so I think he gets emotional
- 9:26Speaker 1: whatever home runs come up and he's going the home
- 9:28Speaker 1: run derby, I do. I think home runs met a
- 9:30Speaker 1: lot to him, and he's confused by them. He's confused
- 9:32Speaker 1: as to why people love them so much.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I believe it. Them getting emotional there made me remind
- 9:48Speaker 2: me of something Taylor said before we started. Taylor thinks
- 9:51Speaker 2: that acting is easy. This was based on yeah, that's
- 9:56Speaker 2: take Yeah, So this is is he betrayed my confidence
- 10:01Speaker 2: there telling him a little.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Bit I saw, I saw your face fall when when
- 10:04Speaker 3: as he said it, like, oh no, he's calling this one.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I don't have to tell that. You don't have to
- 10:08Speaker 2: say the act.
- 10:09Speaker 4: No, I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say I said
- 10:12Speaker 4: that I saw Miles Teller in Lake Tahoe, and I said,
- 10:17Speaker 4: what he does isn't that impressive on the screen. Miles
- 10:21Speaker 4: Taylor isn't some you know thespian of an actor and
- 10:26Speaker 4: Miles Taylor admittedly is one of the biggest actors we
- 10:30Speaker 4: have in America. So I'm watching Miles Teller and I'm
- 10:32Speaker 4: watching him in Iraq, and I've seen top Gun Maverick,
- 10:34Speaker 4: and I'm seeing Miles Teller jump off the screen to people,
- 10:39Speaker 4: I just said, I'm not really that impressed. I think
- 10:42Speaker 4: I could do just a good a job as Miles Teller.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Like if you if you just green screen Miles Taylor
- 10:47Speaker 4: out of scenes and put me into scenes, I think
- 10:50Speaker 4: with with the right training and with the right scripts,
- 10:53Speaker 4: I could be Miles Teller.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Miles Teller taught himself how to play the drums for
- 10:58Speaker 2: Whiplash was amazing in that movie, Taylor, You're gonna need
- 11:03Speaker 2: to recreate that scene Viplash. I'm telling you it was
- 11:12Speaker 2: a great take from Taylor because I've thought this myself.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And then I was watching STU. Have you seen what's
- 11:18Speaker 2: going on with James Franco now? Now, So James Franco
- 11:24Speaker 2: has been like teasing this day where he's going to
- 11:28Speaker 2: show a video of an alien that is stalking him interesting,
- 11:34Speaker 2: and today he showed video and Stu it's about as
- 11:40Speaker 2: like third grade as you would imagine. It looks like
- 11:43Speaker 2: a man in a classic alien uniform.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Right, just poking out of his window and then popping
- 11:50Speaker 1: back looks like more up in his window.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And then popping back looks absolutely cartoonish. And I'm like,
- 11:56Speaker 2: this has to be a movie promotion. This has to
- 11:58Speaker 2: be terrible acting from James Franco. There's no ties to
- 12:02Speaker 2: anything as far as anybody knows. This dude has lost
- 12:06Speaker 2: it and maybe put on a costume and decided to
- 12:11Speaker 2: just decide to just stalk himself a required. Are you
- 12:14Speaker 2: saying the alien might also be James Franco. I'm saying
- 12:17Speaker 2: the alien might also be James Franco. It is the
- 12:19Speaker 2: craziest thing I've ever seen from a celebrity, and it's
- 12:22Speaker 2: say it a lot stude.
- 12:24Speaker 4: This goes right to my point though, Like think about
- 12:26Speaker 4: James Franco. Think about all the times you've seen him act.
- 12:29Speaker 4: You're never like, oh my god, Like this is Shakespearean
- 12:32Speaker 4: esque with James Franco. Just James Franco, right place, right time,
- 12:36Speaker 4: Hall of Fame got in. Acting. Acting is about who
- 12:39Speaker 4: you know, your connections.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I do love that meme James Franco has where
- 12:43Speaker 3: he gets up all offended.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I use that one a lot.
- 12:47Speaker 1: But James Franco is a great actor by anyone's account.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Don't people consider him to be a great actor? Maybe not,
- 12:51Speaker 1: Miles Teller.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I think he's a good actor.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Miles Teller. I think acting is very hard.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I know Levator once said, Hey, I think anyone can act,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and then I think he tried and he didn't go
- 13:00Speaker 1: very well for him, terrible about it. I think God
- 13:05Speaker 1: thinks hard. But isn't Franco considered one of the good ones.
- 13:08Speaker 2: He's one of the ones. Miles Teller. They had better
- 13:11Speaker 2: reputation as an actor.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I think James Franco is more a movie star than
- 13:15Speaker 3: an actor. I think there's a difference there. I also
- 13:18Speaker 3: think that Taylor thinks most actors are just taking the
- 13:21Speaker 3: role of being a dick and then acting like a
- 13:24Speaker 3: dick outside of being the role, and go, Wow, he's
- 13:27Speaker 3: really invested.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 4: What you guys don't understand is I have acting in
- 13:31Speaker 4: my blood. One of my cousins is an actor, and
- 13:33Speaker 4: one of my cousins moved to La to try to
- 13:35Speaker 4: become an actor. He was the driver in the Super
- 13:38Speaker 4: Trooper scene where the car just keeps getting pulled over
- 13:42Speaker 4: and then Eventually he quit acting to start a career
- 13:46Speaker 4: somewhere else. But still, when you have roles in Law
- 13:50Speaker 4: and Order and Law and Order SVU and CSI New
- 13:53Speaker 4: York as the dead guy, got acting.
- 13:56Speaker 2: In your blood? Baby, I don't have any blood? Uh
- 14:03Speaker 2: do you lose your blood when you're dead? I don't know.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I don't know, do you? I hope not. I mean
- 14:08Speaker 2: I don't know what. Well, why would you need it?
- 14:09Speaker 2: And who cares? Actually your dad? I guess it's just there.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I did say one time that if you give me
- 14:15Speaker 2: about six months of preparation that I could star in Hamilton.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I just need about six months. That's whom I can
- 14:23Speaker 2: knock it out of the park. Uh. The Thomas Jefferson character,
- 14:28Speaker 2: he plays the French guy too. I forget for the
- 14:29Speaker 2: name Lafayette, Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson that guy.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So you would just need a wind up of six months,
- 14:35Speaker 1: just six months to get prepared for the most successful
- 14:40Speaker 1: Broadway play of all.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Time, maybe four maybe maybe.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Just gotta get easy in the room where it happens.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yes, but why are we disrespecting acting so much? I
- 14:52Speaker 2: think it's a very difficult thing. I mean, you're not
- 14:56Speaker 2: throwing singing on top of it? Hamilton, Why Hamilton? Why
- 15:06Speaker 2: a Broadway play? Why do you like? Why? Like I'm
- 15:10Speaker 2: just wondering the origins of these thoughts. So, my dad
- 15:14Speaker 2: had a really good voice. My dad sounded like Juliligless. Yes,
- 15:17Speaker 2: And I feel like the little training I could like
- 15:19Speaker 2: refine my voice to be good enough. And I'm kind
- 15:23Speaker 2: of on Taylor's side. I can act. You give me
- 15:26Speaker 2: the script, you give me a mirror, and about a month,
- 15:30Speaker 2: I can probably be uh yeah, an award winning actor.
- 15:34Speaker 3: See it's funny. I always thought the only thing stopping
- 15:37Speaker 3: me from being an absolute rock star was musical talent.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Nah. Yeah, playing an instrument would help. That's not that important.
- 15:48Speaker 1: But if you were given an instrument for six months,
- 15:51Speaker 1: six months, six month ramp no never no no never.
- 15:55Speaker 3: But like if I sail, if I had like Steven
- 15:58Speaker 3: Tyler's voice or Fred Mercury's voice, I'd be I'd be
- 16:01Speaker 3: an absolute rock star.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah. The tea and Taylor stands for top gun Maverick.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I mean, this is the top gun tailor. What would
- 16:13Speaker 1: what would his name be? Vip vipper Taylor's I gotta
- 16:20Speaker 1: be honest of all of us. Taylor has the best
- 16:22Speaker 1: pilot name. Taylor is a good pirate name, Like there's
- 16:25Speaker 1: a good building block there. It's a good start. Taylor pilot.
- 16:29Speaker 2: That's good.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Mikey decent. Mine is the worst? Or maybe is he is?
- 16:33Speaker 1: He's pretty bad? I mean, no one wants a pilot name,
- 16:36Speaker 1: is he.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I'm actually also thinking about changing my official name because
- 16:39Speaker 2: it is way too controversial these days. I might just
- 16:41Speaker 2: go straight to easy. By the way, I brought the
- 16:43Speaker 2: one instrument that I believe I can play. It's my triangle,
- 16:49Speaker 2: the triangle a mini triangle. Yes, well that is supposed
- 16:52Speaker 2: to be bigger, because I feel like you got to
- 16:53Speaker 2: get to all sides of it like that. I don't
- 16:57Speaker 2: even need six months to learn to play that thing.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I guess, do you agree? Is
- 17:03Speaker 1: he that Taylor has the best of the four of us?
- 17:05Speaker 1: He is the best pilot name.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe not fighter pilot though, but I could totally
- 17:10Speaker 3: hear that this is Taylor. You're captain speaking, and we're
- 17:14Speaker 3: going to be traveling at thirty six thousand feet.
- 17:18Speaker 2: For me, very important.
- 17:19Speaker 1: My pilot speaks like a pilot as a name that canotes,
- 17:22Speaker 1: that sounds like a pilot, like leadership.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And speaks with a lot of confidence. I mean I
- 17:26Speaker 2: need that. I did.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Yes, if you're walked off a plane, because they're like
- 17:30Speaker 3: Sheldon the pilot.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Sheld limping off of the cane.
- 17:38Speaker 4: On the topic of having a rational confidence, if for
- 17:42Speaker 4: some reason, you guys were on a plane and they said, hey,
- 17:45Speaker 4: we need you to land this plane. We'll walk you
- 17:47Speaker 4: through it. Yeah, we need you to land this plane.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Do you think you could do it?
- 17:52Speaker 2: No? No, I think I'm specifically going to Row eleven
- 17:59Speaker 2: and asking one of those dudes to go help, and
- 18:02Speaker 2: then I'm going to take his or her seat because
- 18:05Speaker 2: that's the most safe seat and we're probably gonna crash.
- 18:08Speaker 2: No chance in hell am I going to take the
- 18:09Speaker 2: responsibility of saving everybody's life in that situation, right, But
- 18:12Speaker 2: they're gonna walk you through it.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I mean I think I could. If they're gonna walk
- 18:16Speaker 4: me through it, I think I could do it.
- 18:17Speaker 2: What are you doing today? You think you could be
- 18:19Speaker 2: an actor?
- 18:20Speaker 1: You think he could be Miles Teller, and now you
- 18:22Speaker 1: think you can land the plane.
- 18:26Speaker 3: He not only thinks he could be Miles Teller, he
- 18:28Speaker 3: thinks he could be Miles teller in top gun Maverick.
- 18:31Speaker 1: You know he think could be better than No, he
- 18:33Speaker 1: thinks he'd be better than.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Miles No, No, just landing.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Just to be clear, I don't think I could land
- 18:39Speaker 4: the plane on my own, Like I don't think you
- 18:41Speaker 4: could just put me in the cockpit and say go
- 18:43Speaker 4: figure it out. But if I'm walking through control tower
- 18:48Speaker 4: control towers, walking me through step by step, how hard
- 18:51Speaker 4: can it be? Like I could follow directions. If you're
- 18:54Speaker 4: telling me this is how you have to do everything,
- 18:57Speaker 4: step by step instruction.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I'm not with you on that one. I can see
- 19:02Speaker 3: that being like you have to turn the knob third
- 19:04Speaker 3: from the left, and I'm like, my left or your life, Like,
- 19:07Speaker 3: I'm not seeing that.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But then again, I think it.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Also matters what airline, because if I'm on a certain airline,
- 19:12Speaker 3: I'm like, you know what, I'm probably most qualified to
- 19:15Speaker 3: do this, whereas if I'm on say like British Airways,
- 19:19Speaker 3: I'm like, no, there's there's two hundred people in this
- 19:21Speaker 3: plane that are more qualified than.
- 19:23Speaker 2: What are you saying? If you're on Frontier, you land
- 19:24Speaker 2: the plane.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I'm on Frontier, I'm the one getting in the seat
- 19:27Speaker 3: because of the best.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I'm the best you're gonna get, and yet everybody on
- 19:31Speaker 2: that flight is thinking the exact same thing, So you're
- 19:33Speaker 2: gonna have to fight people off. It's just gonna be.
- 19:35Speaker 3: A big brawl in and then there's gonna be another
- 19:37Speaker 3: frontier airline brawl going on. And I get it.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I think you're right.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I think if you were on my frontier flight that
- 19:44Speaker 1: was going down and you were the guy landing the plane,
- 19:46Speaker 1: I would feel just grateful that we had a shot,
- 19:48Speaker 1: and I would kiss the ground that you were walking on.
- 19:50Speaker 2: If I saw either Taylor or mikey A going to
- 19:53Speaker 2: the cockpit and a plane that's going down and they're
- 19:55Speaker 2: trying to land it, I'm asking anyone in the cockpit,
- 19:58Speaker 2: if they're some sort of priest, would like to take
- 20:00Speaker 2: given my last rites, thank you very much.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I love that a plane is spiraling out of control
- 20:06Speaker 1: mid air, going five hundred and eighty miles per hour
- 20:09Speaker 1: and thinks he'd be calm enough to listen to the
- 20:12Speaker 1: guy back at the airport explain taking him through the
- 20:16Speaker 1: handbook of how to land one.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Of those things. Ridiculous. It's hard executive producer job.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I love the confidence finger guns vipilis will get this down.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, what's the message you would leave over the intercom
- 20:32Speaker 1: to soothe the other people on the plane.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Well, in this scenario, like something would have would have
- 20:39Speaker 4: had to happen to the pilots, like maybe they pass
- 20:41Speaker 4: out and then they're like, hey, we need somebody who
- 20:44Speaker 4: thinks they could follow instructions and land his plane. And
- 20:47Speaker 4: then I would just thirty thirty two Sea. I was
- 20:50Speaker 4: in thirty two C this past weekend, by the way,
- 20:52Speaker 4: when Stu Gotts is flying in on one A. I'm
- 20:55Speaker 4: all the way back in a different Zinco trying to
- 20:58Speaker 4: get the time.
- 20:59Speaker 3: They have no seats on private planes, and.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I wasn't private on this trip, but Taylor was wrong.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It was three A yeah, yeah, nobody liked the bulkhead.
- 21:11Speaker 4: And then I would I would just put my hand
- 21:13Speaker 4: up all the way back in thirty two and be like, guys,
- 21:16Speaker 4: I got I got us, don't worry.
- 21:18Speaker 2: What if you walked through first class and you look
- 21:21Speaker 2: to your left and there's Miles Tayler. Would you say, Miles,
- 21:25Speaker 2: shouldn't you do this? Yes?
- 21:27Speaker 1: Well no, because he's don't act you think he's a
- 21:29Speaker 1: pilot and he's not.
- 21:32Speaker 4: No, offense to Miles Teller.
- 21:35Speaker 2: We love Milestone, I love Mylesto, we love Flicky. I
- 21:39Speaker 2: feel like if Taylor were walking up to the cockpit
- 21:41Speaker 2: and he walked by ste Goatstu got to say, Taylor,
- 21:44Speaker 2: don't screw this up. Just add pressure to Taylor, could.
- 21:50Speaker 3: You get us down quick? I have something to do.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yeah, lacross games that I have a tea time.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Make sure the observations are ready. It's a great pilot name, right, Taylor.
- 22:04Speaker 1: It is just tailor something in that faith is he.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I'm telling you if you were over the loud speaker
- 22:11Speaker 1: saying it's is real goody ere as, I'm your pilot,
- 22:12Speaker 1: it's a good fifty to fifty.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I'm just getting up and getting out.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But like Cam, well, I don't know. I don't know
- 22:19Speaker 1: what I'm doing there. I don't like John either, by
- 22:21Speaker 1: the way, Orse Stu, I like Taylor. I like I
- 22:23Speaker 1: like pilot names. You get what I'm saying, preferably like
- 22:27Speaker 1: a fighter pilot. You know, Taylor, Cam, Cam's.
- 22:31Speaker 2: A good day, cam Orville can serve me some popcorn maybe,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but he's not flying my plane.
- 22:42Speaker 3: The right brothers I got you, Taylor.
- 22:49Speaker 2: What were their first nips.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Orville and Wilbur.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Oh God, it's terrible how they invent flying. I would
- 22:56Speaker 2: let those guys take care of my horses were seventeen hundreds.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Man can train her names.
- 23:09Speaker 4: If we somehow had the technology to bring back Orville
- 23:13Speaker 4: right right now, and he saw what a new jet
- 23:17Speaker 4: blue plane looked like, how quickly do you think he
- 23:20Speaker 4: could learn how to fly the plane?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Man?
- 23:24Speaker 4: The man first in flight, How quickly could he learn
- 23:27Speaker 4: to fly against.
- 23:28Speaker 1: All the upgrades, all the modern technology, all that. I mean,
- 23:31Speaker 1: according to you, it's easy. Just have a guy back
- 23:33Speaker 1: at the airport walking through the handbook.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Did you see there was another person who got sucked
- 23:39Speaker 2: through the emergency exit door during a landing and somehow survived. Yeah,
- 23:45Speaker 2: I feel like we're a little bit too scared of
- 23:47Speaker 2: the things that go happen in planes, because the people
- 23:49Speaker 2: that have survived all these types of things, you would
- 23:51Speaker 2: assume automatic death if there's a door open. If I've
- 23:54Speaker 2: ever thought in my life, as I'm flying through the
- 23:56Speaker 2: air a door opens on the plane, I'm assuming we're
- 23:59Speaker 2: all dead, all getting sucked out, we're all flying to
- 24:01Speaker 2: the ground together. But apparently not the worst thing in
- 24:04Speaker 2: the world. You can survive that.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, same, No, I just assume we were all getting
- 24:07Speaker 1: sucked out of the plane. Was it a door or
- 24:09Speaker 1: was it a window? Though a window is a different thing,
- 24:11Speaker 1: a little bit smaller window. I think it was a
- 24:14Speaker 1: window here, yes, but survived. That's the crazy part.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Like it's one thing if like, man, imagine you had
- 24:23Speaker 2: somebody that's stuck in a window and you're just like, well,
- 24:26Speaker 2: that guy's definitely dead, but at least he's hoping to
- 24:27Speaker 2: heaping the window closed and saving the rest of us.
- 24:29Speaker 2: But no, this guy survived. It's wild.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yes, Taylor, are you laughing or you just being made
- 24:35Speaker 1: a winner of the story? A window broke on an
- 24:39Speaker 1: airplane and the guy has survived it.
- 24:42Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 24:43Speaker 4: No, I'm just laughing at the thought of being on
- 24:45Speaker 4: a plane the window breaks and the person next to
- 24:48Speaker 4: me is just blocking the window from getting sucked out.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Poor guy better than me. So happy you have a
- 24:56Speaker 2: middle seat? Yes, I feel like I.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Just feel fat stuck in the window.
- 25:05Speaker 2: We listen.
- 25:05Speaker 1: With all due respect to you, you would be the
- 25:07Speaker 1: perfect guy to be.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Key, of course it is.
- 25:12Speaker 3: And I'm just sitting there in the planes landing and
- 25:14Speaker 3: I'm like, no, It's fine, don't worry about it.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I am what you did perfectly. Just land this motherfucker,
- 25:23Speaker 2: did you.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Guys, just do me a favor and get everyone off
- 25:25Speaker 3: the plane before you start jaws of lifing me out
- 25:28Speaker 3: of this thing. This is this is really embarrassing, and yes,
- 25:32Speaker 3: I will have a diet sprite.
- 25:38Speaker 2: So get him out of there. It's like, wow, that's
- 25:40Speaker 2: gonna leave the mark I know. Is he being sucked
- 25:52Speaker 2: out of there so quickly? It's the next guy up?
- 26:00Speaker 3: Hey, would you mind if we divert? We just there's
- 26:02Speaker 3: there's a there's some weather going on in Denver. Can
- 26:04Speaker 3: we go to l A.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fine, just keep going. Just gonna get a coffee, Mike.
- 26:11Speaker 2: He's enjoying the breeze. That's nice out here. Now I'm
- 26:20Speaker 2: picturing just his backside outside of the plane. You gotta
- 26:27Speaker 2: go to the bathroom, no problem.
- 26:28Speaker 3: A real moon landing.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Now we want it to happen. Oh my god, this
- 26:39Speaker 2: is what happens when sports stops
