- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stores, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
- 1:44Speaker 2: for it is the power of God to salvation for
- 1:47Speaker 2: everyone who believes, for the jew first, and also for
- 1:52Speaker 2: the Greek Romans one sixteen. Why is the gospel such
- 1:58Speaker 2: good news? In order for us to understand the hardships
- 2:02Speaker 2: and misfortunes of others. We have to walk am out
- 2:07Speaker 2: in their shoes. If we are asked today, what is
- 2:11Speaker 2: the reason for the gospel and why is it such
- 2:14Speaker 2: good news? How would we be able to communicate that
- 2:18Speaker 2: meaning to those who perhaps have never heard, or if
- 2:23Speaker 2: having heard, did not apply the power of the gospel
- 2:26Speaker 2: to their own lives. The apostle Paul was faced with
- 2:30Speaker 2: similar conditions as he proclaimed the gospel. He said that
- 2:36Speaker 2: he would only preach Jesus Christ and him crucified. Have
- 2:41Speaker 2: we moved into an area of intellectual reasoning that does
- 2:45Speaker 2: not proclaim the power of the gospel. Paul stated that
- 2:50Speaker 2: he was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
- 2:54Speaker 2: because it was the power of God for salvation to
- 2:58Speaker 2: jew and Jenny. Paul also stated that the Gospel did
- 3:03Speaker 2: not come in preaching the word only, but in demonstration
- 3:09Speaker 2: of the Holy Spirit. When John was awaiting his death
- 3:13Speaker 2: sentence in Herod's Dungeon, he sent his followers to Jesus
- 3:18Speaker 2: to ask if he was the messiah or should they
- 3:21Speaker 2: look for another. Jesus instructed John's followers to go and
- 3:26Speaker 2: tell John what you hear and see the blind, see
- 3:32Speaker 2: the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed the deaf. Here
- 3:36Speaker 2: the dead are raised, and the poor are told the
- 3:41Speaker 2: good news. Jesus proclaimed this Gospel of the Kingdom will
- 3:47Speaker 2: be preached in all the world as a testimony to
- 3:50Speaker 2: all nations. In Matthew twenty four, verse fourteen, in his
- 3:55Speaker 2: farewell address to all believers, Jesus demanded, all authority has
- 4:02Speaker 2: been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go
- 4:06Speaker 2: therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
- 4:10Speaker 2: the name of the Father and of the Son and
- 4:13Speaker 2: of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I
- 4:19Speaker 2: have commanded you. And remember I am with you always
- 4:25Speaker 2: to the end of the age. Again from Matthew twenty eight,
- 4:31Speaker 2: verses eighteen through twenty.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.

- 4:53Speaker 1: Faithfulness from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns Album unless otherwise.

- 5:03Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers from Nashville, Tennessee.

- 5:15Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again here is Richard
- 5:19Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 5:22Speaker 2: The good news is forgiveness for the sinner, healing for
- 5:27Speaker 2: the sick, deliverance for the demonized, site for the blind,
- 5:33Speaker 2: and freedom from bondage. Jesus demonstrated the Gospel and empowers
- 5:40Speaker 2: us to demonstrate it with him to all the world.
- 5:47Speaker 2: For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
- 5:52Speaker 2: for it is the power of God to salvation for
- 5:56Speaker 2: everyone who believes, for the Jews first, and also for
- 6:03Speaker 2: the Greek Romans one sixteen. And that is today's Reflection
- 6:12Speaker 2: on the Word.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
