- 0:09SPEAKER_03: A long time ago, the the women couldn't um do the gymnastics or or play or or be a doctor because in the olden days men think that women weren't strong enough to do like lots of things.
- 0:35SPEAKER_03: They said they were too weak.
- 0:37SPEAKER_03: So women couldn't do like they couldn't be doctors, they couldn't be builders, they couldn't be coaches.
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: Then there was a vote and women won, so it's fair right now.
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: So women's National Women's Day is really really important to women because in the olden days it was really not fair, but now it's fair.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: International Women's Day means to me how even though it wasn't always fair to people, especially women, they made it and we can now vote.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And women can do anything they put their mind to.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: It's just sometimes men don't believe in women.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Like in the early 1920s, men told women that they cannot have a job, they cannot go to school, they cannot vote, they cannot do many things that men could do.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: But if you think about it, men and women can do the same things, but women have one extra.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Women can have babies, men cannot.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So we have as much as we have, they have as much as we have, but we have plus one.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: So actually, in my opinion, I think that women are much stronger than men.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: Hi, I'm Eddie and I'm Zoe.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: We're the Dinovsky twins.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Why do you think International Women's Day is so important?
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I think it's important because it celebrates all the all the times women fought to get rights and at least have a job, which is weird, since women can be smarter than men, and women also give birth to the men.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Yet women don't get any rights.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Zabi, why do you think International Women's Day is important?
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: I think it's important because it celebrates that women are allowed to do stuff that they haven't been able to do before.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Like they weren't allowed to do they weren't allowed to have jobs, they weren't allowed to be paid the same money as men were.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: If they did have a job, they weren't allowed to vote in parliament, and it was unfair, but luckily now it's stopped in most places.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, in some places it still happened.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: We need to just make sure that every single woman has the same amount of rights as men do, because women can be smarter than men.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Like Catherine Johnson was asked by John astronaut John Glenn to check the calculations.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: He didn't ask any male to do it because he trusted her to do it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Bye.
