- 0:04Girls Just Want to Have Some. But before that, I want to give
- 0:06you all a heads up that you will not be hearing Guy and Dando reviewing
- 0:10this episode. Now you'll be going back through time to where Mitch and Dando
- 0:13ruled the podcasting world. This was a Patreon exclusive we did several years ago,
- 0:17and we thought we'd just chucked the one up for you guys on the
- 0:19free feed here so you can hear Mitch and Dando reviewing Girls Just Want to
- 0:22Have Sums? And Guy will We returning next week as per normal. So
- 0:26thank you guys once again for all of your ongoing support. Hope you all
- 0:28have a fantastic week and enjoy our review of Girls Just Want to Have Sums.
- 0:32Now that the boys and their atmosphere of intimidation are gone, we can
- 0:37finally breathe. Breathe, ladies. Now let's buckle down and do some math.
- 0:45Yes, how do numbers make you feel? What does a plus sign
- 0:52smell like? Is the number seven odd or just different? Are we going
- 0:59to do any actual math problems problems. That's how mensie. Math something to
- 1:03be attacked, to be figured out. But isn't it. I mean,
- 1:08confidence building can't replace real learning. Ear Lisa, sounds like you're trying to
- 1:15derail our self esteem engine. Let's sing it back on the tracks. The
- 1:19best thing I can ever be is to be okay with me me. Four
- 1:29Finger Discount, dude, welcome to fourth Thing Discount. This week. We
- 1:47are here to review it this week. It's just a fourth Thing Discount Patreon
- 1:49exclusive. Still this week. I guess we're recording this. We're not in
- 1:53the future. We're recording this on the fourth of February twenty twenty. So
- 1:57by the time this reaches the free feed, I wonder what it's going to
- 1:59be twenty twenty three, twenty four. Well, yeah, I suppose.
- 2:04Yeah, you've returned from the grave. I have want to come back seven
- 2:08seasons later and you're back. Yeah, same if you and Guy. If
- 2:14you and Guy have disbanded for Finger Discount in the interim, then it's going
- 2:16to be like, would you wait until the calendar day? Like the podcast,
- 2:21the RSS feed stays dormant for two and a half years, and then
- 2:24it'd be like Willy Wonka coming back. The lights turned back on in the
- 2:28factory. We're here to talk about girls just want to have sums because our
- 2:32incredible, incredibly generous patron, mister Seth weens that's desperate. No, he's
- 2:38not desperate. That's incredibly generous. Now he's paid one hundred dollars to choose
- 2:42as most of the people who've ever paid me a hundred dollars for a service
- 2:45have been very desperate, but they've also been elderly businessman. It's been in
- 2:49the car park, I said, the better he wants us to talk about.
- 2:53Check out my reviews. I'm Troop Advisor. Girls just want to have
- 2:55sums, and Mitch has been given this scathing reviews on social media. So
- 3:01I really enjoyed it until the end. I thought it fell off a cliff
- 3:04at the end, really um. I thought it started off a cliff,
- 3:07and then it started to crawl its way past the play. It started to
- 3:12so like it got thrown off a cliff in the opening act. It got
- 3:14this is sparted and kicked down the hole and then it slightly just snagged and
- 3:19caught itself and it started to try really hard despite its own inability and climbing
- 3:25strength to make its way back up, and like watching a spider trying to
- 3:30climb out of a toilet bowl. For a moment there I went, you
- 3:32know what, go you good thing, you can do it. I believe
- 3:37in you. But then, like the venomous, poisonous Satan's creature that it
- 3:43was, was flushed back down the toilet and the final lacks bad storytelling,
- 3:46Grebit and went love storytelling through it all. I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
- 3:52it's not it's not all bad. There's there's some good stuff in there.
- 3:54There's a lot of stuff in this one. But I'll get so do you
- 3:57want do you want me to jump straight into my problem? Do you want
- 3:59to synopsis? How it we talk about? I know people know this is
- 4:03a season seventeen episode. Would everyone have watched this? I feel like there
- 4:06would, particularly Patriots. I feel like there would be some people. You're
- 4:10listening to this before you've watched it, You're a fool, Yeah, but
- 4:12I think some people would if it was me for silly billies, if they're
- 4:15doing that. But sometimes if it's an episode. I've done this with movies
- 4:18before. I just listened to the Star Wars spoiler special because I don't really
- 4:23have any care about that being spoiled. So it was more a case of
- 4:29I listen to people review this, I'll know everything that happens. But then
- 4:31when I do watch the movie, I'll go in with my expectation exactly where
- 4:35it's supposed to be. And that's probably the best way for me to have
- 4:38fun. And I think that some people that stop watching The Simpsons in season
- 4:42ten might be the best way to go about it. You go, oh,
- 4:44look, I'll listen to the review for that, and then I can
- 4:46make my decision on whether or not I want to watch it. Well,
- 4:48okay, so the story is that what device is schooled in the first place?
- 4:53I know, they get a new principle, a principal Skinner slandering women.
- 4:58Yeah yeah, so he says girls and good at maths. They get
- 5:00a female who's played by friends as mcdormant by the way, Okay, yeah,
- 5:05very really unrecognized. Yeah yeah. So she decides to split the school
- 5:11between girls and boys, so girls go one way, boys or the other.
- 5:14Lisa realizes that they're not going to be teaching proper math in the girls
- 5:17section of the school, so she tries to sneak to the boys section.
- 5:19But the only way to do so we need to dress up as a boy.
- 5:23She gets beaten up, she does all the things, she becomes a
- 5:26boy essentially in order to be to fit in, and then she How does
- 5:30this end? How would you describe the way this ends? What's the ending
- 5:31to this story? Because to me, it didn't have an ending. What
- 5:34is the ending to this story? Let's just reveals that it was her all
- 5:38along. Lisa then realizes that boys don't have it as easy as what she
- 5:42thinks, and then nothing, and then nothing that she hits Martin with a
- 5:45chair, and the b plot is that Homer and Marge at each other because
- 5:48Homer doesn't think women are as good as men. Basically, yeah, and
- 5:53oh that's right. Martin just comes in and plays the flute, and that
- 5:55doesn't get wrapped up either. He gets kicked to the doghouse by the dog
- 5:59and then that's the end of That's the last we see of him. And
- 6:00here's the other thing. Here's the other thing. This is what really annoyed
- 6:02me. They don't wrap up the fact that the schools divided. We haven't
- 6:05even gotten to the fact that the parts that had always be yet so okay,
- 6:11So how did Lisa win the award when she wasn't even enrolled? Well,
- 6:16she's rolled under a fact name how she turned up. Okay, Homer
- 6:24and Marge story never gets wrapped up. The other thing is so they don't
- 6:27rectify the fact that the school was split up into two by the end of
- 6:30it just ends and then the next episode it's back to normal again. You
- 6:33mentioned this recently, like when they have, um, they build a tower
- 6:36in Lisa's room make room for Lisa in season ten, Yeah, and then
- 6:42just not fixed this. It's a pretty big change. Yeah. Um.
- 6:46Skinner is also just left as a groundskeeper and has not learned a lesson.
- 6:50No, now here's okay, So my problems in a So when this out
- 6:56two thousand and six, ye okay, now two and twenty. This episode
- 7:01feels so badly like it's been written by someone with a massive chip on their
- 7:05shoulder and someone that's like, you can't even be funny anymore because some feminist
- 7:10is going to say that you're joking about blah blah blah. It's sort of
- 7:13taken the piss out of feminist. What Skinner says is awful, but then
- 7:19they make the feminist counter argument stupid. All they do all that happens in
- 7:25this episode from both sides of gender is they look for the worst in each
- 7:30side of gender, and nothing is shown to act as a consequence for that
- 7:36or to act as a counterbalance to that. So Skinner firstly massively out of
- 7:45character, suddenly just goes off the deep end as a as a misogynist and
- 7:48thinks that women are dumb and doesn't understand yeah, and not only that is
- 7:54so stupid that he can't talk his way out of it and can't think of
- 7:57how to like that. Instantly, I'm like, well, this is a
- 8:01massively out of character. Then they do not show all they show feminists as
- 8:07a wishy washy people that you know, it's how does math make you?
- 8:11How does it make you? Feel? Like? They relentlessly mock feminism,
- 8:18which would be fine if they also showed what the positives of it are,
- 8:26and they don't do that because even by having Lisa be really good at maths,
- 8:31that's not what the feminist agenda is. So they like, she's not
- 8:35even showing that thing of like, oh yes, but this is you know,
- 8:39this can be the positive upshot of trying to push for equal rights.
- 8:41It just happens to be Lisa's really good at maths. But Lisa was always
- 8:45really good at maths, So I'm not learning anything that we didn't already know.
- 8:46This just basically comes across as people go on, how stupid a feminists
- 8:50and boys are disgusting. That's that is what annoys me. And the whole
- 8:54thing of the boys sided school falling to shit again needs some sort of counter
- 8:58because of the fact that all boys schools exist and they don't descend into an
- 9:05anarchy. Yeah overnight, Um that like there was just it was all one
- 9:11way storytelling and lost common denominated stuff and not a shred of thought or intelligence
- 9:20about how they would try to find the funny in this setup. I didn't
- 9:26I didn't appreciate how they sort of played up that boys just can't be nice.
- 9:30Yeah, there's no way a boy could possibly know. When they made
- 9:33her beat up Ralph, I was like what what? Yeah? Yeah,
- 9:39like that was awful to watch. I felt I felt horrible. There was
- 9:41no repercussions for that. It's just no she becomes accepted, Yeah, her
- 9:46even apologize. She feels no guilt or remorse. Ralph doesn't understand he's standing
- 9:50there with a smile on his face. She punches him, he runs off
- 9:52crying, and that's it. Yeah, she gets cheered. Yeah. Yeah,
- 9:56um the So there's a funny way. So I just watched Mulan over
- 10:00the weekend and there's a really funny line in that when Eddie Murphy's character is
- 10:05Mushu is teaching Mulan how to fit in, and she's like, punch me
- 10:09in the face. It's how men say hello. Like that's funny. But
- 10:13then afterwards you see the men form a bond and they start to trust and
- 10:16then they find out who she actually is. And then even though she gets
- 10:20banished, the core soldiers still accept her for who she is, which doesn't
- 10:24happen in this episode either. So there's absolutely no learning and there's no acceptance
- 10:28and principal Skinners, the one takeaway and lesson that Skinner has is I don't
- 10:33have opinions anymore. Yeah, just don't be your dickhead. That's the lesson
- 10:39that you're supposed to learn. You can have all the opinions that you like,
- 10:41just don't have shipped ones. And if you do have a ship one
- 10:43And someone says that's a shit opinion. Put your hand up and apologize for
- 10:46it. You don't have to go become a groundskeeper that's too scared to speak
- 10:48because you're worried about upsetting the feminazis. That in a nutshell was what I
- 10:54really really did not like about the episode. Now that's said, I did
- 11:00enjoy Lisa, Lisa's role, Lisa trying to go under cover, Lisa trying
- 11:07apart from the Martin sorry, is from the punching Wealth thing um, Lisa
- 11:11doing what she can to study maths. Lisa was Lisa would never do that.
- 11:18She'd never punch regardless if she wants to learn maths or not, she
- 11:20wouldn't punch Realth. No, that was a moment where I thought that she
- 11:22would give it up and just go no, this is or come up with
- 11:28some excuse or some reason, whatever it might be. It just felt all
- 11:31that moment was just it was just horrible to watch. Yeah, or it
- 11:33was going to be the moment that she punches him and then they turn on
- 11:35her. So like, you know, you just punched the weakest kid in
- 11:39school and that should not be a good thing. No, Like you know
- 11:41that not just the weakest kids, the most mentally challenged kids. Yeah,
- 11:43there's that as well. Um, yeah, there's a lot going on in
- 11:48the episode that really it's just there's nothing positive to take away from that.
- 11:54Like I was like, there's an ugliness in this writing that I'm not used
- 11:56to in this show, like a show that normally sarcasm yes, and satire,
- 12:01yes, But I was like, well, what are they actually trying
- 12:05to say here? And I couldn't find anything positive in what they were actually
- 12:11aiming for. Well, I've just got that. It just felt like they
- 12:13had a message, but they just copped out at every chance, and nobody
- 12:16learned a lesson. I've no one's learning any lessons here. Yeah, there
- 12:20were several and this is what I was talking about about crawling out. There
- 12:24were several turning points. I was like, Okay, this is this is
- 12:26where they're going to build the thing, and then it just doesn't happen because
- 12:30the itchy and scratch you play. Cut that whole fucking thing out. That
- 12:33in five minutes of just wasted television. It was a good parody of liking
- 12:35I'll give it that. It was entertaining. Yeah, cut that out and
- 12:39add five minutes to the end, and he wrapped some shit up. It
- 12:41would have been better in any other episode. Yeah, wrap some shit up
- 12:45because it feels like they ran out of time. Everything just sort of just
- 12:48ends without any actual obvious No one learns anything, there's no there's no moral
- 12:52lessons here. It's just everyone's a bad person. That's that's a springfield.
- 12:56Get rid of that first five minutes and have Homer apologize to Marge. Yeah,
- 13:01have them have that discussion, because Homer doesn't learn anything. Well,
- 13:03he's a skinner. I'm just gonna have an opinion anymore. No, someone
- 13:05needs to explain to him what you just said. Yeah, like I said,
- 13:09that feels like he's been written by a forty year old white guy.
- 13:13Who who who wasn't written by I'll tell you what. In the good Place,
- 13:16there's a character if I do like that show. Have you been watching
- 13:20it? Yeah? So you know in the new season seeing season three?
- 13:22No first two. So they bring a character in in the third season who
- 13:28is like your ultimate chauvinistic douchebag, And there's a conversation where he's like,
- 13:35what do you mean I can't tell a woman to smile? What if she'd
- 13:37genuinely be prettier? Prettier if she smiled, I'm helping her that. It
- 13:41feels like if that guy was in real life. He wrote this episode,
- 13:45and he wrote it in a response to being told, don't tell me to
- 13:48smile, Like, that's kind of what al mats Oh, Matt, Matt,
- 13:58it's a forty year old white guy. Oh man, oh man.
- 14:09He also wrote some Bible stories. By the way, Really, it's been
- 14:13a bad week for Matt Selman. He listens to this show too. That's
- 14:18amazing. Well, hopefully he's not a patriot. So a couple of years
- 14:24from now, he's given up. Six years from the now. When did
- 14:26this go out? When? When the episode often years ago, two thousand
- 14:31and six, So it was a thirty four year old white man. Is
- 14:33he forty years old? Forty eight? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, so
- 14:35close. Yeah, he's outraged. It does feel like someone who It feels
- 14:43like the episode is trying to tell us a message, but it just doesn't
- 14:46understand the message by the end of it. It's just it's just a it's
- 14:50a strange one. It was I want to reel it back. It's someone
- 14:54that listens. Fuck it, sorry, Matt, it's bad. You should
- 15:00have seen Mitch's faces, and you can feel free Matt to track me down
- 15:05and tell me all the things that I've done wrong in my life. Um,
- 15:11the list is equally as long. What was your favorite moment? I
- 15:15had a couple of favorite moments here. I did like Charmers commenting on Skinner's
- 15:18car. Oh house that had Yeah, that was very very funny. But
- 15:24the Bart Junior Bate switch, Yeah, I thought it was from his penis.
- 15:30Yea, and I did as silly as it was, I was running
- 15:31up in the doghouse. Yes, Yeah, that was my favorite. Happened
- 15:35that was really good, as absurd as it was. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:39that was excellent the first time. Just no end to that story though,
- 15:43I needed to wrap that up. Yeah yeah. The first time that it
- 15:46happened, I actually thought that the cut wasn't perfect, that they needed to
- 15:50wait a fraction longer before he saw Homer on the couch. Um. But
- 15:56then the second time, Yeah, absolute perfection. I just feel like this
- 15:58is the first time I can remember we're both the A and the B plot.
- 16:03Don't get wrapped up. They just probably yeah, because not normally Margin
- 16:07Home would have at least had a discussion where they're sort of they're happy with
- 16:10each other again. You can't leave the Simpsons open ended like that. Says
- 16:14that Matt Selman eventually became a writer on Seinfeld after two years of failed spec
- 16:18scripts, and I wonder if this was one of those scripts that he pulled
- 16:21out of the draws a chop. Yeah, he did write, That's how
- 16:26he got on The Simpsons, I believe. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 16:30submitted a spec script for Sinfeldum of his writing on The Simpsons, Matt said,
- 16:36the hardest thing that we have to try, that we have to try,
- 16:40it must be due, is to try and make each episode as good
- 16:42as everything that's come before it. We have a legacy of greatness and you
- 16:45don't want to be the person that ruins the Simpsons. And I just wonder
- 16:48if maybe Matt could have done with putting that on a post it note on
- 16:51his desk while he was writing this episode. Harsh words from Mitch green Duck.
- 16:56So overall, I'm not gonna lie. I enjoyed. You have to
- 17:00turn your brain off because there's a lot of shit that's just like it feels
- 17:03like the Ralph moment I didn't like. I was just bothered by the end
- 17:07had nothing got wrapped up. That's what annoyed me the most. I know
- 17:10you annoyed with most of the episode, and I've got here. I'm enjoying
- 17:12this play, but I hope it leads to something and it didn't and it
- 17:15didn't. Know, Yeah, like the same deal. I enjoyed the play,
- 17:19And I think that that in another time and place, that that could
- 17:22have been a really good segment in and of itself was a really good segment.
- 17:26It was just a setup skin of making the sexiest remark. Yeah,
- 17:30and that did not Like you didn't need five minutes worth of play for that
- 17:33set up to actually work. It could have happened to any given It could
- 17:37have happened in any number of what Edna, Yeah, I could have said
- 17:41it to Edna. He it could have just been a school assembly. Like,
- 17:45there's a million different ways that that could have happened that don't take five
- 17:48minutes to introduce. It just felt like it was going a very long time.
- 17:52Next question, you were there eating the paste. My first question,
- 17:56this is the easiest question of all. What was Lisa's new name not toilet?
- 18:03I forgot her first name. It was Boyman, Jack Boyman, Jake,
- 18:07Jake damn, Um, do you just not put trivia questions together anymore?
- 18:12I'd watched this on one lunch break at work. It's been an insanely
- 18:15busy week for me. I'm sorry, so no, I didn't have time
- 18:18to actually take notes. Um. I just watched it as recently as I
- 18:21possibly could. Um the Mitch grint away. Look, I tried. What
- 18:30was the symbol on Lisa's T shirt when she became Jake and Adam? I
- 18:37thought it was going now it was a football? Oh okay, yeah,
- 18:40a boy? Yeah makes sense. Second question, what was Marge studying when
- 18:44Homer interrupted they were younger? Flashback calculus? Yeah, and she's not allowed
- 18:48to do all the calculat That was a very good joke. Yes, now
- 18:52I haven't been able to do all the calculus that. What was the equation
- 18:57that Lisa souls on the white board or incorrectly solved to be fair minus five
- 19:06plus five equals what white times? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, next question
- 19:11from you that you're you're up next? Oh okay, sorry that was your
- 19:15question. Yeah? What color skirt or skinner wearing pink pink blouse? What
- 19:21was Carney's nickname for Millhouse Carney? Is it Carney. Is Carney the board
- 19:27one? Oh, Kearney, Kearney, Well, part of me I was
- 19:33thinking of Emma Carney, the AFLW player. Kearney lost on me. I
- 19:41apologize mil Jew, mil Jew, which isn't that bad? On the on
- 19:45the vague subject of mill or Jew. More to the point, did you
- 19:49see Brian Cranston's Martin Mountain Jew Super Bowl ad? Men's fucking bizarre? A
- 19:56parody of talking about it though the shining, I am talking about it,
- 20:00I'm not buying the drink. Was anyone ever buying Mountain Jew? Parody of
- 20:03I used to love mountain dew? Really? What is it like a lemonade?
- 20:07I've never dreamed of. Yeah, it just never looked appealing to me.
- 20:11I had a well when I was younger. I think it was a
- 20:15green drink. I used to have a T shirt with in the Mountain Dew
- 20:19logo called Brokeback Mountain Dew Do. The dude was the Slen Twin. Du
- 20:29made it myself. Um, I say, T shirt, tattoo whatever.
- 20:33Um, we all make choices. I yeah, so it's a parody of
- 20:40the shining. But it's just you're waiting for something to happen that dulan't quite
- 20:45happened and what was this episode? Yeah, and it's kind of like,
- 20:48why is Cranston doing this of all people? It's probably three million dollars.
- 20:52Yeah, but there's that like it must have looked better on script, like
- 20:56on the page than what it turned into. He's just doing from winning the
- 21:00Ryan Brian Murray, Bill rad Ground for cheap. Yeah, every day is
- 21:06different. In the jeep. That was really good. I am. I
- 21:08usually sit down and watch all the Super Bowl commercials, having had a chance
- 21:11too. I've ever seen those two Okay that we were watching it at work
- 21:15on the on the TV. Yeah, I think Galaxy's Edge got every single
- 21:18fucking commercial, but just about it was. I think one of my favorite
- 21:22super Bowl ones for recent years was when they had Um Leonard Nimoy and Zachary
- 21:29Quinto as the duelings. Wow, it's dueling spots. Um. I think
- 21:34it was for a car commercial. But yeah, very very cool. I
- 21:37might at the end of this episode I'll show it to you. Cool.
- 21:40I mean Donald commercial was pretty good. Actually, it was just a bunch
- 21:42of band of people waking up after various nights out or it's just how different
- 21:48people look when they wake up, situations they wake up in, and then
- 21:51it's a guy delivering uber eats McDonald's to get you ready for the day.
- 21:55It was good, right, so that was your final question one, Yeah,
- 21:59I think so, get into the review. The original air date was
- 22:04April thirtieth, twenty six, not Tribo Ga gag is. Characters are surprised,
- 22:10character surprised, the family home has a heart attack. Yeah right,
- 22:12Yeah, kicks off with the Springfield theater district and there's really not much to
- 22:18explain to chiscratchy tablets, a linking parody. I thought it was gonna be
- 22:22a camelot But do you feel like all they really had here was that the
- 22:26circle of knife sounds like the circle of life, and then they built the
- 22:30rest of it around that, but it didn't add a lot else. Yeah,
- 22:33it's sort of Yeah. I enjoyed it. Though I enjoyed the visual.
- 22:37I enjoyed the general gist of theater going and that sort of stuff.
- 22:41And it's kind of a funny juxtaposition to have your usual waspy theater going types
- 22:45going to watch this and then the Simpsons family sitting in the midst of it
- 22:49all. I love marg being worried and interact with her. That's exactly what
- 22:52my mum would be like, that's what they do. Have you been to
- 22:55see the linking? No? I haven't. Actually, the animals come in
- 22:59the ards at the start when this thing circle of life. Yeah, okay,
- 23:00that's kind of cool. So the director comes out, she's a female
- 23:03director. We also got the home at dumb Down Jack with the book,
- 23:06which I was just like, yeah, yeah, forgettable. The doctor comes
- 23:08out, she's female. Skinner makes the sex of remarks about girls are being
- 23:11smart and yeah. It just felt very out of character, first kind to
- 23:15say that, to say it, but then be to insist on it,
- 23:18and then see talking the massive mishandling of it after yeah, yeah and again.
- 23:22Whilst I could understand that if the episode was setting Skinner up as being
- 23:29a foil for any number of men who have publicly done this and then said
- 23:34something really stupid not handled the scandal well afterwards, that would be fine,
- 23:37except the episode doesn't appear to see Skinner as the bad guy here. He
- 23:44loses his job. It's almost like the victim. But that's the way he
- 23:48plays at PSK. You know, he has to become the ground ski Asystem
- 23:51exactly, and it's sort of kind of got one foot in his camp in
- 23:56doing that. You can imagine people who think the ways you can act in
- 24:00this would watch this going damn fucking right. We can't even depend on anything
- 24:02anymore. Yeah, exactly. You can't even say that all women are shit

- 24:52me to be back in my hometown Springfield. She also graduated from Springfield Elementary.
- 25:00Principal Skinner, you know, Julianna, it's no surprise you became such
- 25:03a success. You always got straight a's in school. Well I remember getting
- 25:08a bee or two in math. Ha ha, Well, of course he
- 25:11did. You are a girl. No, all I meant was, from
- 25:17what I've seen, boys are better at math science, the real subjects there.
- 25:22That should put the matter behind us. Calm down, Calm down.
- 25:27I'm sure Principal Skinner didn't mean girls are inherently inferior. Oh, of course
- 25:32not. I don't know why girls are worse. One thing we can all
- 25:36agree on, though, This little lady sure looks pretty tonight, am I
- 25:40Right? So then the mop of protesting at the school not even say that
- 25:45someone shit at maths because they're a woman, even say woman in maths.
- 25:51Gonna fix it. He's gonna pretend like he agrees. Again, like that
- 25:53element of it that can work is satire. If he's not the hero,
- 26:00or if he's not even just ambivalent treated ambivalently. They have the first of
- 26:04a diversity forum, or first of many, as he says, as many
- 26:07Skinner worth address. And he just doesn't know what to say. He puts
- 26:11his foot in it. Today we celebrate the first of many, many,
- 26:15many, many diversity forums. Why is it that women appear to be worse
- 26:19at math than men? What is the source of this illusion? Or is
- 26:23I call it the biggest lie ever told? You're a worse version of Hitler.
- 26:29Please believe me. I understand the problems of women. See the principles
- 26:36are ranny? Am I wearing women's clothes? I didn't notice when I look
- 26:41in my closet, I don't see male clothes or female clothes. They're all
- 26:47the same. Are you saying that men and women are identical? Oh?
- 26:51No, of course not. Women are unique in every way. No,
- 26:53he's saying women and men aren't equal. No, no, no, it's
- 26:57the differences, which there are none, that make the saneness exceptional. Just
- 27:04tell me what to say. At first, I'm watching someone I feel bad
- 27:10for skinner, But then I realized, no, you're saying the wrong things.
- 27:12Mate, Yes, he's being an asshole. It would you say he's
- 27:17being an asshole though? Or is he just? Yes? You can't put
- 27:19on address to show to try to make a point about I don't even see
- 27:26your gender, Like, would you would you see it that was doing it
- 27:30deliberately. You've already proved that you do. If by the end he understood
- 27:33that what he did was wrong, would you still look at him now as
- 27:37being an asshole? I don't think it's more. See if he was doing
- 27:40this and then by the end he was like, oh wow, I really
- 27:41shouldn't have done that. Now I understand why. Then at this point it's
- 27:45like he's not being an asshole. He's just doing something. Doesn't realize he's
- 27:47wrong. Correct If he learns, he's If he learns the less, but
- 27:48he doesn't, that's why it's bad. Yeah, that's what they needed to
- 27:52have him understand what he's doing is wrong. If you don't, and then
- 27:55he just feels people watching going yeah, fuck off at leave Skinner alone.
- 27:59It's like if you've got a dog in a movie that and the dog shits
- 28:02in the house, it's not till the trained in the lane. That's like
- 28:03your comedy things. The dog is always shitting. If that dog doesn't learn
- 28:07to shit outside by the end of the movie, that's a ship dog,
- 28:11bad dog. Yeah. If it does learn to go outside, it's a
- 28:14beautiful dog and you love it. You're gonna be really upset when the farmer
- 28:15takes it out back and puts a shotgun to its head, because that's what
- 28:18happens to movie dogs kids. One dog, well, nearly the dog in
- 28:23Babe the dog wasn't a pig going to be killed? No, because it
- 28:29attacked. Yeah, yeahma, hogger was going to kill Oh yeah, farmer,
- 28:33scary time monster. And then the second one, the dog nearly hangs
- 28:36itself from the bridge. What the city one o the dogs? The dogs
- 28:40hanging from a bridge? Why? I can't remember how. I can't remember
- 28:45how I got that situation. But I was hanging from the bridge. Wait,
- 28:47I'm gonna wata google this. It could be wrong. What happens when
- 28:49you let George Miller direct a kids film? I've googled Babe Pig, City
- 28:53Dog Bridge. So you have the dog hanging from the bridge. So it
- 28:57was a pit ball. Yeah, I was hanging from the snakes hanging upside
- 29:02down. That's a different thing wrapped around his neck was facing down. Though
- 29:06I don't know. It's a dog hanging from the bridge and was going to
- 29:07die. Dogs get treated poorly in Babe films. That's the best. That's
- 29:11the moral that's the point. Yes, don't if you dog with James Cromwell,
- 29:15the skinner gets replaced by France to Domant aka Melanie Uppuot. She splits
- 29:18the school in half boys and girls. Then it ends with the boys forced
- 29:22to do ball and dancing, which was a really weird visual was strange.
- 29:26I didn't mind it from the perspective of the audience though, when you just
- 29:30see charmers kind of conduct orchestrating the music or conducting the music seemed to be
- 29:37flat. Yeah, the family are all at breakfast and they do the whole
- 29:41reminding the views of the story what they're splitting the kids, the boys and
- 29:44girls at school. We got the part Junior gag. I did like that.
- 29:48That's what they would normally do with mister teeney Well, I was gonna
- 29:52say, like it's it's good, but it is also almost a beat for
- 29:56beat ripoff of the naked gun, one of the most famous naked gum jokes
- 30:00ever off Nice Baba and then there's an actual baby. You just don't have
- 30:04this episode. Well, I mean, if you gotta rip off, let's
- 30:07steal a joke from a movie from the eighties. It's gotta be an artists.
- 30:12All this whong about girls and man as silly. Women are as smart
- 30:17as man. Why a woman invented liquid paper? Well, you know what,
- 30:22a man invented actual paper. Well, a woman also invented the windshell
- 30:26wiper, which goes great with another male invention, the car. I think
- 30:33a woman came up with nylon stockings. I mean probably, we certainly use
- 30:37them. Let see, men also have rocket ships, suspension bridges, constitutional
- 30:42government. It's no shoes, bread knuckles, pinball machines, the Renaissance?
- 30:49Why did women invent sleeping on the couch? Have you ever been banished to
- 30:55the couch? No, I'm my house. I've never been banished. Have
- 31:02you has ever got to a point where I've never been banished to the couch
- 31:04because I put a door lock that can only be opened if you solve algebra.
- 31:11Have you banished ash to the couch? No? No, no,
- 31:15We've never had any fights that have been couchworthy. I feel like if you're
- 31:18at the point where you're banishing the other person to another room, something needs
- 31:22to be done. Yeah, let go see a council. It should never
- 31:26get to that point. You should never go to sleep angry at each other
- 31:30no down bottle. Anyway, I've never gone to sleep angry at out.
- 31:33She's probably going to sleep angry at me, but never like she still stayed
- 31:36next to me. But although, to be honest, almost worse because you
- 31:40just feel anger radiating off the other person. Like have you ever got I've
- 31:45never got an elbow back. No. But somehow, even though it's just
- 31:48someone laying you know how they're laying down, you're laying down, you can
- 31:52feel the tension. You can feel them being awake, yeah, like they're
- 31:56not moving, but you're like, this is just just not I can feel
- 32:00her being angry. It's like when you can feel someone's watching you, like
- 32:02someone's there, but it's a thousand times worse. Yeah. Yeah, when
- 32:07it's your partner angry in the same bed. Yeah, knowing cut a few
- 32:09genitals in mid of the night if they wanted to, And you also know
- 32:13that you've probably got two more days of it. I don't think I've ever
- 32:17been in that situation. I think we've had a few blobs, but nothing
- 32:20that last two days. I can see you doing something to pissash off,
- 32:22though, does that Oh yeah, it's all been just your mum On the
- 32:28other hand, No, that was last week. Well we up to so
- 32:34skinners on the new principles should divide. Weirdly, Mum insists that I come
- 32:37over and sleep next to her when she's mad at me, just so I
- 32:38feel less. Kids are all arrive at school, are really painting a school.
- 32:43So it's tw different colors that the girls they were to go and the
- 32:45boys and whatnot. And the girls get like an uplifting farewell from Otto and
- 32:47the boys are all locked in a cage. That was funny as well,
- 32:51that was very cool like that obviously that sets the scene that the boys are
- 32:53going to go to hell. Yeah. I don't get why they have to
- 32:57treat the boys differently. I treat them like the animals. Well why is
- 33:01it that? What is about having girls in the room that stops them from
- 33:04just like that? Anyway? So why why do they not have like that
- 33:07when the girls are they don't like the girls? Yeah, yeah, so
- 33:09why they're not biding the girls? Yeah, just suddenly become a law unto
- 33:13themselves. Yeah, it's not like there's no authority figure and it's still a
- 33:15teacher had that had the school descended to that because they didn't have a teacher
- 33:20anymore. That would be one thing of the flies or something. Yeah,
- 33:22just because there's no girl in the classroom, that's it's not the case.
- 33:28Sit there with your wighing out, but you're not going to cause anarchy all
- 33:30the time. Have you ever done at school? Had my wing out twice?
- 33:35You had your wing out twice at school on purpose? I feel like
- 33:42it's a crime that you're admitting to. We're up to, So, Lisa,
- 33:49my wing was my business. I was in school, lisas the dooring,
- 33:52all the painting by women in the girls side of the school. Doesn't
- 33:57like their new approach to math though, and as you mentioned at the start,
- 34:00it's just weird, Like they say that girls is ever fair, crack
- 34:01at mats and not dumb, yet when it comes to learning mats they portray
- 34:07them as basically Yeah, they basically proved Skinner's point in Lisa realized that she
- 34:13watches the boys that can be proved or should be proved. No, it
- 34:15sort of goes against the moral of this episode. Yeah, yeah. She
- 34:19sneaks into the boys school for a mental challenge, Um tells the wolf to
- 34:22go away, sees the class learning gets it wrong. It's happy that she
- 34:25got it wrong. She's just like I said, we know Lisa's happy.
- 34:29Yeah. Yeah, Martin got it right, didn't he know? Because she
- 34:34the first the first equation he got wrong because he forgot about the cone um
- 34:38or about the carrot knows the area of the carrot knows. Oh, of
- 34:43course, yeah, one third something times the base the skin at the base
- 34:45times skin is now the assistant groundskeeper. No girl is allowed, Prince,
- 34:52not Skinner. It's groundskeeper Skinner now assistant clowns keeper. Yeah, puke,
- 34:58assistant groundskeeper Skinner. Do you think it's wrong that I can't get the best
- 35:01math education because I'm a girl. I don't have any opinions anymore. All
- 35:07I know is that no one is better than anyone else, and everyone is
- 35:08the best at everything. Not you. You're the worst. Now get closing
- 35:13in those squirrels. Please be reasonable. I'm sure we could this clip here,
- 35:28this quote here, Everyone is the best at everything. This is true
- 35:30to an extent when it comes, and I've mentioned it before. I was
- 35:32kick, You're no less celebrated goal anymore. Yeah, scoring doesn't matter.
- 35:37Yep, that's poors shit. Absolutely play sport to compete, yes, and
- 35:42everyone that's the problem. Everyone is not the best at everything. Yeah,
- 35:45it's also vital lessons to occasionally learn that you will fail. Outsides. Yes,
- 35:50the squirrels poisoning skin to there suddenly became happy Tree Friends. Yeah,
- 35:54I was really bizarre, Like I was just like, Okay, I guess
- 35:58Happy Tree Friends were still a thing. I don't know when that was.
- 36:00I really don't remember. Um, I completely forgot it exist unto you just
- 36:04mentioned it. Yeah, it's quite crank Yankees, remember that was the thing.
- 36:07Oh yeah, yeah, I never watched it as it used to be
- 36:09on like before sighting the South Park. I think i'd always see like the
- 36:13last one minutes. Yeah, I there was a time that prank phone calls
- 36:16for the height of comedy. You kicked my dog? Yeah? Um I
- 36:22I didn't mind the squirrel joke certainly where it started, like the idea of
- 36:27poisoned their squirrels, that sounds like something that Willie would do. But then
- 36:30they have them actually pulled the poison into his mouth. Kinners. Actually,
- 36:34well that well, that's the resolution. That's why Skinner didn't learn anything.
- 36:37He got killed by squirrels. Well he came back, though, how do
- 36:39we see him again? But he's just brain dead. Possibly Lisa is talking
- 36:44to Marge. Let me get the flashback he of Hommer interrupting her learning the
- 36:46calculus when it happened, make Dunbergen erode some beach. Oh, I love
- 36:55too, but I've got my calculus final tomorrow, My baby. The only
- 37:00math you need is you plush me equals forever. Oh since then, I
- 37:08haven't been able to do any of the calculus I've encountered in my daily life.
- 37:14But that's not going to happen to you. It's very true you never
- 37:16encounter maths in your day to day life. It's very Maths is very,
- 37:20very pointless some stuff. I guess maybe when it comes to playing snooker.
- 37:25Yeah, I would love to have a protracted with me on the table.
- 37:28Yeah yeah. But besides that, I actually do or if I'm like,
- 37:31the amount of times I'm like angle of incidents has to equal to the angle
- 37:35of um fuck whatever the yeah, the exit angle. This is the thing.
- 37:38Do kids still write at school or alto pretty much all laptops? Now?
- 37:43I think that's a bit sad. HM. Imagine like not being able
- 37:46to write? Well, why do they teach kids to write in primers?
- 37:50With shouse for future historians. Yeah what why why teach me how to write
- 37:53in primary school? I gotta know how to pass notes to your first love.
- 37:58Yeah that's true, draw tee pictures of the teacher and whatnot, sick
- 38:01notes, how to forge them. Yeah, there's there's still some skills that
- 38:06you can use with a pen. Did you ever a forge your Paris and
- 38:08I used to practice some peple times. Yeah, my ms was talking moms
- 38:13is impossible. My dads were very jadan over. What I realized when I
- 38:15got to high school is that I'd never be able to get dad's right.
- 38:16But I could make up one one. Just make up a signature that has
- 38:22a D in it. Yeah, that'd be fine. Not the first name,
- 38:25just a D squint. Yeah, well his first name is Darren's.
- 38:29I mean like just deep Dan squiggle. Okay, yeah, it's gonna be
- 38:34d G squiggle. What fully players do that? Yeah? First letter,
- 38:37the last name into just a cross march suggest that Lisa dressed up as a
- 38:42boy. Um han't walks in. He could put full by it. Invites
- 38:45to the movies, you know, invite our kids the cool friend. Yeah,
- 38:49Lisa is then at school and it's really, actually really good acting from
- 38:52the yardly here ye playing the boy? That really and and this is the
- 38:57sort of stuff that I really did like that. Um bend it like Beckham
- 39:00style? Um, what was it about a boy? She's no, there's
- 39:05something else. She's the the man. Yeah, bye, I can kiss
- 39:09the Amanda Show. I used to love the Amanda Show. I really don't
- 39:13you kill me? I never saw it. Okay, you're gonna judge.
- 39:15Um, But I wonder if this was the voice she pitched to do bart
- 39:20this was her boy voice. Interesting, that would be a cool thing to
- 39:24do for your for your own Easter egg. Like, I'm just gonna slip
- 39:28this in. Yeah, ow, what are you playing? Punch for a
- 39:31punch? How So? What's your name, Nuby, I'm a Jake.
- 39:37That's your Christian name. What's your surname? Boy man? Boyman? Jake,
- 39:44boyman. You have toilet paper on your shoe? Nah, yeah,
- 39:49I guess they do. I'm gonna call you toilet. My name isn't toilet,
- 39:53it's jake. Hey, you're talking toilet toilet. They want to know
- 40:00his last name. That's actually true. Boys just referred to each other as
- 40:05our last names. And she goes with boy man. They named her toilet
- 40:07what I don't name a toilet? I can't remember because she had toilet paper
- 40:12stuck to her till herp of stuff to the shoe. Yeah. They're in
- 40:15class and Nelson has the gun drawing. I didn't appreciate all the guns in
- 40:20this. I guess do kids still like that when as a kid I wasn't.
- 40:23I wasn't really Presumably guns, presumably young boys would still play soldier and
- 40:29play with pretend guns and that sort of thing. Lisa gets the equation wrong,
- 40:31and this is where she's happy. Bat she gets the equation wrong.
- 40:34Um. Yeah, they're in the cafeteria. Did you notice here that Ralph
- 40:37is in the fetal position on the ground. Oh no, I missed that.
- 40:39Yeah. I thought they're going to reference Ralph here. Know you was
- 40:43just hunched on the ground. Yeah, just a broken little little man.
- 40:46Um. I did enjoy asking me your house about Lisa. I had to
- 40:51break it off. Yea clinging that's really really good, And I'm glad that
- 40:55she didn't come clean there. Yeah. Yeah, Actually her voice does get
- 41:00high pitch yeah yeah yeah. So do you miss having the girls around?
- 41:04Nah? Girls never really got me. Did you know Lisa Simpson? I
- 41:08heard she was pretty cool Lisa. Oh yeah, we totally had a thing,
- 41:14but I had to break it off. What the hell are you talking
- 41:17about? She got too clingy. Millhouse doesn't do clingy. I have to
- 41:22cove that was what eating food spills the food on Nelson. This here,
- 41:32though, if you're gonna do this, you're gonna go all the way.
- 41:37If you're gonna have Nelson beat Lisa up, she gotta show some signs of
- 41:40it. I understand why you can't show the repercussions of a male beating a
- 41:45female, then don't do it in the first place. Like I said,
- 41:47you mean likes to be has to be something, not just her crying.
- 41:52Her pants were like, her clothes were a little bit scuffed. If Bard
- 41:55comes in saying Nelson really wailed on this kid at school today, Remember when
- 42:00Barker beaten up by Nelson, he can't having a trash heroid. Yeah,
- 42:06I understand why you can't have felt comfortable. I felt uncomfortable just hearing a
- 42:09cry. To be honest, it shouldn't have happened. Yeah, you don't
- 42:14need to do that. Why did you need to do that? Yeah?
- 42:15No, that's a good point. She didn't need to be beaten up,
- 42:17so it could have actually talked away out of it. I mean perfect.
- 42:21Resolution could have just been that the whole I love you, I love you,
- 42:24and then they start that fight and then Nelson starts fighting someone else and
- 42:28she slips away. Yeah. Perfect. Then you don't have to watch Lisa
- 42:30or be aware that Lisa has been beaten up by a bigger, meaner kid.
- 42:35What you could do is you have her runoff sort of scared, and
- 42:37Bark goes something not right about her, follows her, sees her sort of
- 42:40behind a dumpster or something she comes clean to. But yeah, you didn't
- 42:44need a girl getting beaten up by a boy. I know you didn't see
- 42:46it, but I wasn't comfortable to later have her, like, to have
- 42:50her be the victim of violence and then perpetrate violence banks that even more in
- 42:52Yeah, yeah, it just I didn't sit well with me at all.
- 42:57Hay Lies, you'll missed it. While you were at girls' school, Nelson
- 43:01totally wailed on this door. Oh my god, that's right, I'm toilet
- 43:16toilet. So did you tell Mommy got beat up? Not yet? If
- 43:22I do, she'll never let me go to the boys math class again.
- 43:27Hey, no one with a choice should ever have to be a girl.
- 43:30I'll teach you how to be a boy. You would do that for me?
- 43:32That is so sweet? You're a boy? Nothing is sweet? How
- 43:37that hurt? Sweet? Now, when you eat like a boy, only
- 43:42two French fibes and five should make it into your mouth. If they fall
- 43:46on the floor, you want them more because then they come with extra toppings.
- 43:54I'm gonna be sick awesome doing that guy's bag while he's not looking.
- 44:00I am looking, and Duke start a puke war that you cannot finish.
- 44:04Good night. Madge is still angry at Homer. They're in bed talking about
- 44:07it. Missus, where could keep the doghouse? So Homer? Still it
- 44:09didn't learn anything, but at least it was funny. Yeah, Lisa,
- 44:15I must then pick a fight. So she picks Ralph as we mentioned,
- 44:17and I just felt so horrible. Yeah. Now from a final test to
- 44:22fully become a man, you must pick a fight with someone weaker than you.
- 44:28A fight. Haven't been rejecting the last part of me that's still a
- 44:31girl. Do it, Lisa, you'll be greater than or equal two boys.
- 44:37Even though you're only eight, your possibilities are infinite twenty seven. Okay,
- 44:45I'll do it, But whom should I beat up? These darts are
- 44:50itchy? Fine, I'll beat up Ralph. Give me a lunch money.
- 44:57Okay, I guess I'm gonna have to get this party started. Fight fight,
- 45:06fight, forgive me for this. You just beat up the most harmless
- 45:17kid in school. Well done, Hey, toilet, I want to play
- 45:24guns. Sure, and again I get the line in there about you know
- 45:37what a man like you know until you've picked on someone weaker than you.
- 45:42That's funny. That is a that's a funny joke about toxic masculinity, but
- 45:45don't show it. But don't actually go ahead with that at least because then
- 45:49with a character that wouldn't do it undercuts everything that you just said. So's
- 45:52Lisa's going against everything she believes in order to be to fit in with these
- 45:54people that she doesn't need to fit in with. It's like, yeah,
- 45:57like I just I don't know, Yeah, don't beat up Ralph. It
- 46:00reminded me of when um, this little Wiggie when they threw them in this
- 46:06puddle and whatnot. It just wasn't fun at all. Lisa now fits in.
- 46:09Now they're accepting it because she beat up the disabled child gets at the
- 46:14montage, so she's playing guns? Whatnot? The people playing in Millhouse's eye
- 46:16weird. He wears glasses, yes, well, and they're big glasses too,
- 46:22but the plane was doing some loops. HiT's in the front of the
- 46:25glasses coming coming on the upshot. He just got in underneath. Lisa then
- 46:31wins yet Standing at cheap and Awards? And how long has she been at
- 46:34the school? Four? She hasn't enrolled. She just she just snuck into
- 46:37the Has there been a what the hell is going on here? What I
- 46:42felt like? The Outstanding Achievement award hinted it there being a passage of time?
- 46:46Okay, they haven't. They haven't indiscriminated amount of time. They haven't
- 46:51asked where's Lisa at the girl's calling more? Well, they're too busy feeling
- 46:55Yeah, She reveals herself, but claims it's because she was a boy,
- 47:00That's why she's good at maths. Now, why's the auditorium in the same
- 47:02room? Everything else is separated, but boys and girls are still in the
- 47:05same auditorium. They're just divided. This the boys and the girls went in.
- 47:08It was just the boys. Now the girls are there because the girls
- 47:12were equally shocked, weren't they? Yeah, yeah, that's any more questions.
- 47:17Trophy gets throne, hits Ralph again. Now she's been beaten up by
- 47:21both Lisas or whatever. It's um poor Ralph not good. At least that
- 47:25one was an accident. Yeah. Lisa then realized that boylife is more kle
- 47:29than she. I don't. I don't. What is the lesson Lisa learns
- 47:31from this episode? They try to play it off like she's learned a lesson.
- 47:35Yeah, they try to do the South Park I've learned something today,
- 47:37but she hasn't and I haven't. It's like, oh, boy's life isn't
- 47:40as easy, and you know, isn't as what its cracked up to be.
- 47:44I'm what what? What? What do you think this? What has
- 47:49happened in this episode? What is her final? She says something on the
- 47:51lines of that it's not as cruzies, it's all the lines. It's not
- 47:53as cruzy as what she thought it was to be a boy? What have
- 47:57I become? I always thought the boys had it easier. No he didn't.
- 48:00You just thought the boys got to do maths. Yeah, um like
- 48:04boys having it easier was never a point in this episode, nor hasn't ever
- 48:08been a point with Lisa. But now I see their world is more cruel
- 48:12and sadistic than I ever imagined. Yeah, boys cheering. Um I did
- 48:16get better at math. He didn't. You just did the math that you
- 48:19already knew. But it was only by abandoning everything that I believed in.
- 48:23You didn't get better at math. You were just able to study math the
- 48:27way you'd always been studying it. Well, that's right. Then they actually
- 48:30do cut her off. So I guess the real reason we don't see many
- 48:32women in maths and science is dot dot dot. Would you hurry it up?
- 48:35Please? You're cutting into the award for best flouts. That's what I've
- 48:37got. Do they have a message and then they forgot what it was.
- 48:40Whatever the answer is, I'm glad I'm a girl, and I'm glad I'm
- 48:44good at math. What happened? I don't get it. I get the
- 48:50thing of they may be going with the reason that we don't see many women
- 48:55women in maths and science, and then she gets cut off by a man,
- 48:58So that could be the that they're going something there. Um, that's
- 49:04the best I've got. I didn't actually look at it like that. That
- 49:06could be the game he was going for. Yeah, yeah, but then
- 49:08the flowers do not see much of it, do not see any criminally under
- 49:15under estimated. And there's probably quite a number of examples throughout history of female
- 49:21scientists whose um work went unnoticed or ignored for decades before a man looked at
- 49:29it, before a man had the idea that someone else had. Basically,
- 49:32but I don't understand. But if your point is that a men are holding
- 49:36women back from learning mats, then why did you have a girl have to
- 49:38become a boy in order to learn I guess No, yeah that work,
- 49:43that works. Yeah, um, but the tracks from that women not is
- 49:46that the women weren't trying to learn actly. That's why I'm like, I'm
- 49:50confused. Yeah, the women aren't trying in this episode. Yeah yeah,
- 49:53so yeah, like they show yeah, in the scenes where they should be
- 50:00building up what is possible, they show the worst of it. They pander
- 50:06to what the people of Skinner's viewpoint is. So like, here's this guy
- 50:12who said this thing that's really stupid. But by the way, he was
- 50:15right. But he's been punished he shouldn't have been, and now he just
- 50:16thinks that he doesn't want to have opinions. I think they play enough too
- 50:21much that how horrible boys are, Like, there are horrible boys and there
- 50:24are horrible girls. Not all boys I like this, Yeah, not all
- 50:30girls like that, and so on and so forth. The episode is over
- 50:34swing and some sort of miss what do we learn? What'd you learn from
- 50:38the episode, Mitch? That thirty four year old men shouldn't write from your
- 50:42old girl about sexism? Yeah, that's probably it. Maybe the Simpsons Writer's
- 50:46Room in two thousand and six was lacking in diversity. Thank you for listening
- 50:51to a review of Girls Just Want to Have Sums. It was not a
- 50:54fantastic episode. There are parts of it that I enjoyed, but the overall
- 50:59story just left me befuddled. It just I don't think it knew what it
- 51:01wanted to do. Word Yeah, berfuddled. Yeah, I enjoy perfuddled.
- 51:06That's good. Probably the highlight of this episode. I thought I thought it
- 51:09knew what it wanted to be, and by the end of it it was
- 51:12like, I don't think it did. I don't think it had any fucking
- 51:15clue what it wanted to be. What it founds like the angry It feels
- 51:20like the angry manifesto of a postal worker before he goes into work and starts
- 51:27killing all of the female employees. This is the kind of episode where you
- 51:30really should have had a woman write it. It was directed by a woman,
- 51:34but it was written by a male directed by a woman. Yeah,
- 51:36directed by Nancy cruz Um. I would like it. I would honestly be
- 51:43very interests funny. Her first episode should directed Simpson's Bible Stories. Wow,
- 51:51I would read not a good team. Her and Matt not a good team.
- 51:53I would really like to know in their heart of hearts what were they
- 51:58trying to say? Yeah, because I want to believe in the best.
- 52:02I'm sure he can explain something to us. Yeah, I just want to
- 52:07know what happened to the school? How did it's going to get his job
- 52:09back? How did home we get out of the actual doghouse? How did
- 52:13he get out of the doghouse? Did he have to go via the couch?
- 52:15You first have to apologize to Sound as a little helper, make his
- 52:17way back to the couch, and then apologize to mar Just to get back
- 52:20to the bed. You have to go back through the hierarchy. Just yeah,
- 52:22where it was Maggie in all of this a bit of a mess.
- 52:24Yeah, Maygie doesn't have it appeared maybe at the play. But hope you
- 52:28enjoyed that set. How did they get the tickets? Look like a really
- 52:31expensive play. I hope you thought that was your hundred dollars worth seth But
- 52:37thank you so much for getting us for choosing that one. It was nice
- 52:40to have Mitch back after six long seasons. As you were recording this February
- 52:47fourth, twenty nineteen, twenty twenty. Yeah, man, man, time
- 52:52is flying. Imagine the things that is that will be different right now.
- 52:55This, by the way, people Nostril has this episode is why you're not
- 53:00hearing mentioned anymore, because it would just be a weekly rant. Yeah,
- 53:04he hasn't got it in him. Yeah no, and you don't have it
- 53:07in you like listeners don't have it in you. No, I'm like this.
- 53:13I'm sure GLD could find a Probably, I'll be honest. If there
- 53:15are people listening now, they probably never listened to the first ten seasons,
- 53:20Like who the fuck is this guy? This could suddenly come in to shit
- 53:23all over the show. Where's guy for his delightful charm? Yeah? Well
- 53:30if you think, well, I'll tell you what if you think that,
- 53:31if this is his attitude, he's not going to make it anywhere in the
- 53:34podcast industry. I guarantee you that guy could put a positive bit on this
- 53:37episode somehow. It's because he's a misogynist. Oh, any guys, were
- 53:46any final words for listeners? Uh? Microphones are measured by women? Who
- 53:53do you need to stop me? Now? I need to think of somewhere
- 53:57to go with it. I was um trying to think of, like stay
- 54:00on thame of this episode? No ending? Why? Why would why would
- 54:02a woman invent a microphone too amplify the voice of the husband, But she
- 54:09so dearly loves Let's everyone here, He's wisdom.
