The Mirror of Crisis
Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
We tend to think of crisis as the gym where our character muscles are built. We look at the storms in our lives, the job loss, the sickness, the family conflict, and we think, “This is what’s making me strong. This is what’s shaping me.”
But I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, that crisis doesn’t develop character in us. It reveals the character that is already there.
