Melissa in the Morning: Lowering Property Taxes
A Connecticut citizens’ assembly is proposing a sweeping plan to lower property taxes. Recommendations include highway tolls, a tax surcharge on millionaires, shifting special education costs from towns to the state and eliminating local car taxes. We spoke with Joe Delong, Executive Director & CEO of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, about the proposals and the likelihood of any recommendations passing.
