- 1:23Join us in this program, He Fights Your Battles and Wins, as Kim Miller of Woman
- 1:28at the Well Ministries takes us through 2 Chronicles 32.8,
- 1:33which says, With Him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God,
- 1:39to help us and to fight our battles.
- 1:42Hello and welcome to this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries. Let us pray.
- 1:47Our kind and most gracious, dear Heavenly Father, Lord, we just thank you.
- 1:51We thank you for who you are, and Lord, we thank you for whose we are.
- 1:55We're so thankful, Lord, that you sent your Son to die on the cross,
- 2:00that you have given us life eternal, and that you watch over us and protect us each and every day.
- 2:07We're thankful, dear Heavenly Father, that you have imputed your righteousness
- 2:11in us and that you've made us part of your family.
- 2:14And Lord, we're grateful to know that you supply our every need.
- 2:19You will equip us to do all that you call us to do.
- 2:22And that you are great and mighty.
- 2:25Lord, that you've never lost a battle. And that we are always on your mind.
- 2:30And Lord, I just ask that you would be with each one of us.
- 2:33That we would learn to submit to your will in such a way that we desire it.
- 2:39Lord that it doesn't seem hard and it doesn't seem
- 2:42difficult for us to follow and Lord
- 2:46that we would desire to do what you would have us to
- 2:48do and that we would gain great pleasure in knowing that you walk with us and
- 2:53talk with us and that you lead the way Lord I ask that you would help us to
- 2:57learn to give to you those things that cause us stress Lord that we would lay
- 3:02them at your feet realizing that the battle's not ours, but it belongs to you.
- 3:07I pray, Lord, that you would each give us the heart of little David.
- 3:12Lord, who knew that all that took and all that happened was because of who you are.
- 3:19Lord, I pray that you would help us to be the person that you would have us to be.
- 3:25And I pray that you would help us to realize that each and every battle belongs
- 3:31to you, and that you and you alone are victorious.
- 3:36In Jesus' name we pray.
- 3:39Amen. I love this passage of scripture as you begin to look at it,
- 3:44because what you see is Hezekiah, a great man of God, is showing you his faith.
- 3:52And what he's showing you is that when the king of Assyria had come and entered
- 3:58into judah he had camped around the cities and he was going to win them for
- 4:02himself and so when hezekiah saw that he had come he was purposed to fight and,
- 4:09And what he did then was he gathered much of the people together and he stopped
- 4:13up all the fountains in the brook that ran through the midst of the land.
- 4:16And he also strengthened himself and built up all the wall that was broken and
- 4:22raised it up to the towers.
- 4:24And he repaired all of it in the city of David and made darts and shields in abundance.
- 4:30So he used the intelligence that God had given him to secure the things that he was to take care of.
- 4:40And I believe today that God gives us each a sense of knowledge to know right from wrong.
- 4:49And so we know things we should be doing and we know things we shouldn't be doing.
- 4:53And we should be taking care of those things that we know that we should take care of.
- 4:57And a lot of times that in itself will
- 5:00take care of problems that come our way but sometimes
- 5:03it takes more and what he said was
- 5:06he said captains of war over the people and he
- 5:09gathered them together in the street of the gate of the city and he
- 5:12spoke comfortably to them and in
- 5:15my mind what that means is hezekiah spoke from
- 5:18experience he spoke from authority and
- 5:22he spoke with true confidence and listen to
- 5:26what he said he said be strong
- 5:29and courageous be not
- 5:33afraid nor dismayed and then he tells them why he says for this king of assyria
- 5:41nor all that the multitude that is with him because there's going to be more
- 5:46with us than with him because he says with him is an arm of flesh,
- 5:51but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.
- 5:58And the verse continues to say, and the people rested themselves upon the words
- 6:05of Hezekiah, king of Judah.
- 6:09Now I want you to think about what he said. He said, be courageous and not dismayed.
- 6:16He said, be not afraid. And basically, he said, because they're going to come
- 6:22at you with only the flesh.
- 6:26But I am telling you that we have greater with us than all that they have put together.
- 6:35For we will fight with the Lord with us.
- 6:39You see, our battles are not just ours.
- 6:44If we are following after the king of kings and the lord of lords and the great.
- 6:50I am the things which we fight.
- 6:55Are the things that he has gone before us and laid out the battle plan.
- 7:01And they're not our battles, but they're his.
- 7:04With just a few little pebbles and a slingshot, little David went out to face the big giant.
- 7:14And he did so with pure confidence because he said, the battle's not mine, it belongs to the Lord.
- 7:21And he only used one
- 7:24stone you see when god
- 7:28is with you you don't need anything else
- 7:31he will supply your every need and
- 7:34he will strengthen you and you'll be able to do all that
- 7:37he asks you to do because he will make sure that
- 7:40you do it in his strength but the moment you
- 7:43step out and try to do it on
- 7:46your own you're surely going to face defeat
- 7:49but greater is he that is in you than
- 7:52he that is in the world and you need to be the conduit through
- 7:55which Christ flows and not
- 7:59only will you find that you have victory in Jesus
- 8:02but the world will see Jesus
- 8:05in a new and real way they
- 8:09may or may not come to know him as savior but
- 8:12they will see that there is something different about you
- 8:15because most people know your frailties and
- 8:19your faults better than they will ever know the skills and talents that you
- 8:24have and so when they see you doing great things they'll see the hand of god
- 8:32upon you and it may be difficult for them to name it They may not claim it.
- 8:39But they'll know there's something different about you than them if they don't know the Lord.
- 8:47But so often we face our battles the very same way as those who don't know the Lord.
- 8:56Hezekiah came to the people assuring them they needed to be courageous and not
- 9:03dismayed because the power of the Lord would fight their battle.
- 9:07Maybe you need reminded of that today. I know many times I must be reminded
- 9:14that the battle's not mine. It belongs to the Lord.
- 9:17And I must be reminded that my job is to follow after his will and his way.
- 9:24My job is to be the godly example in the battle that I'm fighting.
- 9:28My job is to clothe myself in his righteousness and in his way.
- 9:34And I need to walk in his footsteps.
- 9:36And I need to polish my lamp within me so that his light shines brightly.
- 9:41And let come what may. with the confidence of these individuals who followed the words of Hezekiah.
- 9:51It says the people rested themselves on it. They believed in it.
- 9:54There was a peace that came over them.
- 9:56They were no longer fretting. They were not afraid.
- 10:00Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
- 10:06Do you rest upon that promise that God loves you?
- 10:12That God never sleeps nor slumbers?
- 10:15That he wants only those things for you that are good? That he has a plan for
- 10:20you to prosper you, to give you a hope and an expected end?
- 10:24Do you rest upon his promise that he will see you through? Do you claim his
- 10:31promises and take him at his word that he'll take your burden and make yours light?
- 10:37Are you living the life of the victorious soldier of Christ who isn't weary
- 10:44in well-doing but draws a little closer?
- 10:47The Bible says draw nigh unto him and he will draw nigh unto you.
- 10:51Rest upon his promises. Rest in his loving arms.
- 10:57Don't try to figure it out on your own. Just pray and open up your heart and
- 11:05your mind and let him speak to you through his scripture and through what he lays on your heart.
- 11:13Don't spend all of your prayer time spouting out words, giving out demands, laying out requests.
- 11:22But there needs to be some time
- 11:25in your prayer time where
- 11:28you are quiet but you're still fixated
- 11:32on the throne of God and on Jesus the king of kings and you allow him to speak
- 11:39to your heart and your mind to whisper sweet peace to you Jesus loves us this we know God will help us.
- 11:50And he'll fight our battles. You're not alone, regardless of what you're facing.
- 11:56Don't try to take the lead and step out in front, but confidently follow where he leads.
- 12:05Be a true follower of Christ who embraces his word, who seeks his face,
- 12:13who longs for his voice, who follows his ways.
- 12:20That battle you're facing, he's already won it.
- 12:24Just follow behind to get the victory.
