- 0:45Speaker 1: Red Eye Master. There is a skywalker here on the
- 0:49Speaker 1: spaceship joined very special guests.
- 0:53Speaker 2: You know Brown and uh if you heard the last one,
- 0:56Speaker 2: you know the aka is which is a k A.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Brown record. Because I've been wait for a little while,
- 1:01Speaker 2: but we're back, We're doing it, and you were actually here.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I'm not sure you know.
- 1:06Speaker 1: You were here to talk about Jerman Andrews Purple Hayes,
- 1:08Speaker 1: of course, but before that, the last time I think
- 1:11Speaker 1: you were on the show was to talk about and
- 1:13Speaker 1: Or season.
- 1:14Speaker 3: One and then we just.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Dropped our season one recap and why you should watch
- 1:20Speaker 1: and Or if you haven't peaped that, you should peep
- 1:22Speaker 1: that because that's both on you know the Fall Nerds channel.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Hear us get emotional loser minds.
- 1:27Speaker 3: But yeah, just just a little bit.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You know, we talked about it might be the greatest
- 1:30Speaker 1: TV show of all time and things of that nature.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And you know, we almost almost went to tears again
- 1:35Speaker 1: just thinking about season one.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, just tell the truth.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Just telling the truth faults. But we're here.
- 1:41Speaker 1: You know you're watching this sometime after April twenty second,
- 1:45Speaker 1: the first three episodes of and Or season two, after
- 1:52Speaker 1: all this time, after all.
- 1:54Speaker 3: These years, especially if you've been listening to the show,
- 1:57Speaker 3: it's been years.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I mean talking about how much I love and Or
- 2:00Speaker 1: and how much you should watch it, and how much
- 2:02Speaker 1: I can't wait for season two and.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah blah, on.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And on and on, and we are finally here.
- 2:09Speaker 1: The first three episodes of season two have now dropped
- 2:12Speaker 1: on Disney plus Mellow, and I've seen them. This will
- 2:16Speaker 1: be a spoiler filled review. We are gonna examine everything.
- 2:19Speaker 1: We ain't gonna get into all the detail. We ain't
- 2:20Speaker 1: gonna sit here and recap every little moment that happened.
- 2:23Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about, you know, how we felt, all
- 2:26Speaker 1: the greatness that we saw everything else. So please make
- 2:30Speaker 1: sure you've watched the first three episodes of and or
- 2:33Speaker 1: season two now on Disney Plus. Just off the bat, Mellow,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know, what were your overall feelings?
- 2:40Speaker 2: Actually, I love it. It's it's one of those things
- 2:44Speaker 2: where I, you know, obviously coming off of what was
- 2:49Speaker 2: the best first season of any TV show I've ever seen,
- 2:52Speaker 2: h Damn and then Lost, it's better than better than
- 2:58Speaker 2: a wire, It's better than all of them. Yeah, it is.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It might be the best first season of any job.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And the tough part about that is that it feels
- 3:05Speaker 2: very conclusive, where like if it didn't continue, it's just like,
- 3:08Speaker 2: all right, just go watch World one and I'm all right,
- 3:11Speaker 2: But this right here, it's starting off in a place
- 3:14Speaker 2: where it's these initial first three episodes are this conversation
- 3:20Speaker 2: about consequences, consequences and changes. And I always say, the
- 3:25Speaker 2: only person who's in a position where it's just like
- 3:28Speaker 2: I am better is Cassie and himself, where he found
- 3:34Speaker 2: a purpose, He kind of found out what his identity
- 3:37Speaker 2: is and the reason for the things that he does.
- 3:39Speaker 2: But everyone else who made that hard shift as they
- 3:42Speaker 2: like who this is, who I'm going to be at
- 3:46Speaker 2: a time where there's the worst time in history for me, politically,
- 3:51Speaker 2: for everyone of my gender, my race, all of it.
- 3:55Speaker 2: This is who I'm going to be. And when you
- 3:57Speaker 2: begin to push back against something, you're gonna hit the
- 4:00Speaker 2: Empire strikes Back moment where it's just like, oh, it
- 4:02Speaker 2: pushes back hard and it's gonna start affecting me and
- 4:07Speaker 2: in ways that I could never imagine.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, And as a child, I think I think that's
- 4:14Speaker 1: why I loved The Empire strikes Back so much. I
- 4:17Speaker 1: remember just being as a kid, like just the name.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I was like, Yo, the Empire strikes back, Like that's crazy,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you know, like they had their victory and not the
- 4:25Speaker 1: Empire strikes back.
- 4:27Speaker 3: That's that's e being crazy.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And like you said, this feels like consequences because it,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I mean one my first thoughts were, just like you
- 4:36Speaker 1: off top.
- 4:37Speaker 3: The first three episodes, I was waiting. I was hoping.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'm like, oh God, please let this be good, because
- 4:42Speaker 1: I've been hyping this shuit up so long to everyone
- 4:45Speaker 1: I know, and I know the first season is that good,
- 4:48Speaker 1: so I can't. I had, you know, I just had
- 4:51Speaker 1: faith that the team was done up, bring it home,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and every interview I read leading up to it just
- 4:56Speaker 1: made me like, oh, yeah, no, these motherfuckers know what
- 4:58Speaker 1: they're doing. You know, they were talking bit shit. Die
- 5:00Speaker 1: Golon was like, you know, Rogue one s told be recontenttionalized.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You gotta watch it after, you know, we know what
- 5:05Speaker 1: we did here. And I'm like, oh, you know, gil
- 5:08Speaker 1: Roy was like yo, So I'm like, okay, this is
- 5:10Speaker 1: gotta be crazy. And it starts off right away with
- 5:13Speaker 1: the hammer banging and all the emotions you know, come
- 5:16Speaker 1: back to you. And then immediately that year one year
- 5:19Speaker 1: later and in the four years before the Battle of
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yavin drops and you know, you're like, oh okay, oh
- 5:28Speaker 1: oh wait a minute, you know, we're we're we're getting
- 5:30Speaker 1: serious here. And that one year later was like when
- 5:32Speaker 1: I saw end Dame, you know, and it was like
- 5:34Speaker 1: five years later. You know, it's like, fuck, what happened.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Is five years later?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was like, wow, what happened in that year?
- 5:46Speaker 1: And then you know, then suddenly Cassians in a rebel pilot,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I mean, I rebel in an imperial pilot's uniform, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: he got this thick baddie flirting with him, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: and they're pulling the plot and he's being the Cassian
- 5:58Speaker 1: that we all know in love. Like you say, they
- 6:00Speaker 1: can just talk to anyone, convince anyone, you know, just
- 6:03Speaker 1: make you feel right, and just.
- 6:06Speaker 3: You get right into that.
- 6:08Speaker 1: And then my man busting the tie interceptor and I'm like, oh,
- 6:13Speaker 1: these are motherfuckers are spending money.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Like big money.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Like this ship looks beautiful, It's gorgeous. Everything just feels right.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm so mad I didn't get to see this on
- 6:25Speaker 1: a big screen. I'm hoping that there's a screening and
- 6:29Speaker 1: I get to, because Lord have mercy.
- 6:33Speaker 2: It's absolutely gorgeous. I know this season crust him. It
- 6:37Speaker 2: was like somewhere around like six or seventy million dollars score.
- 6:40Speaker 2: That's insane considering twelve episodes. Each each set is a movie,
- 6:46Speaker 2: and I admit that it's going we're gonna get four
- 6:49Speaker 2: sets in each of them are going to be like
- 6:51Speaker 2: a very dense three hour film, chronically a year in
- 6:59Speaker 2: a life of cast and Or and everyone involved in
- 7:02Speaker 2: this level of the rebellion.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I mean, it's just it's hard to talk about.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So I mean, just I will say this. It starts
- 7:16Speaker 2: off so much more fun than I was expecting yes
- 7:20Speaker 2: like this this initial episode, uh, like the beginning of it.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I mean, it definitely loses the fun that is going.
- 7:31Speaker 3: It a little dark.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I hope you you're listening to this after you've you've watched,
- 7:37Speaker 2: because you're probably in a place where you like staring
- 7:39Speaker 2: at the wall, like uh, like myself and my wife
- 7:43Speaker 2: were when we when we wrapped at episode three. But
- 7:47Speaker 2: but where we start at the beginning of the first episode,
- 7:49Speaker 2: it is a place where it's just like you're meeting
- 7:51Speaker 2: a cast a Cassian that is now like fully a rebel. Uh.
- 7:56Speaker 2: He has something that he has believed in for the
- 7:58Speaker 2: first time in his life. And the thing that it's
- 8:01Speaker 2: very beautiful to see is that he believes in it.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I want to say he believes in other people. And
- 8:06Speaker 2: it's hard to say that sometimes because you know what
- 8:10Speaker 2: that character is willing to do. But the thing that
- 8:14Speaker 2: he does believe in is that like the Empire cannot win. Yes,
- 8:17Speaker 2: And that is a running theme with every conversation that
- 8:22Speaker 2: he has within these few episodes, where it's just like
- 8:25Speaker 2: there's an insistence where it's just like it is it
- 8:28Speaker 2: is as natural to him as as like just water
- 8:32Speaker 2: to drink. It's like they can't win, and there's a
- 8:35Speaker 2: level of like coolness and a confidence in it where
- 8:38Speaker 2: he's just like, this is a hero in a way
- 8:40Speaker 2: that you wouldn't expect from the first season of the
- 8:43Speaker 2: same character. It's just like I cannot be involved, was
- 8:47Speaker 2: what would be his model going forward, But now he's
- 8:50Speaker 2: just like, I I refuse, I refuse to see them
- 8:54Speaker 2: exist in the same space as me. And it's it's
- 8:59Speaker 2: really really dope, and we see that reflected within like
- 9:02Speaker 2: his conversation that he's having with this young woman just
- 9:07Speaker 2: really fly that she's talking to, that he's talking to
- 9:10Speaker 2: that is in society, Imperial base, and her having these
- 9:15Speaker 2: doubts of being like, I know I'm working as a mole.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I know I'm working as sabotage his fascist regime. But
- 9:24Speaker 2: just to bring us back to just how complex the
- 9:27Speaker 2: show is, just something that she says, which is just
- 9:30Speaker 2: like I have fun here, Like I have people that
- 9:32Speaker 2: I like and to care about, even her, like her
- 9:35Speaker 2: manager that comes up and is asking her questions and
- 9:37Speaker 2: it's like very sweet to her about like oh, he's
- 9:41Speaker 2: like that dude cute that you're talking to over there,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and anything like that. You can fully understand why. She's like,
- 9:46Speaker 2: I have doubts about doing this, and he has to
- 9:48Speaker 2: remind her, like, you didn't come here to be complicit,
- 9:52Speaker 2: Like you didn't talk to me because you thought that
- 9:54Speaker 2: this was the right place to be, and like that
- 9:56Speaker 2: is fantastically to start this season.
- 10:00Speaker 1: And then even in that same scene, you have these
- 10:02Speaker 1: stormtroopers walk by and they're complaining about their workload and
- 10:07Speaker 1: things they have to do, and they're like, but you know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you bring that up, man, and.
- 10:11Speaker 2: They'll ship you off to so and so.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And you know, and then they just about their business.
- 10:17Speaker 3: So that's the thing.
- 10:18Speaker 1: You see all the sides of it, Like it humanizes
- 10:21Speaker 1: the people who are part of the empire. But then
- 10:23Speaker 1: at the same time that you know, oh well, you know,
- 10:26Speaker 1: like this is a war, you know, like Sau said
- 10:30Speaker 1: in the first season, you know, we'll call it war.
- 10:32Speaker 1: You know, things happen in war. And like, I love
- 10:36Speaker 1: that scene so much because one you have this thick
- 10:39Speaker 1: black woman, you know, something we don't always get to
- 10:41Speaker 1: see on screen being part of the rebellion, you know.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Especially in Star Wars.
- 10:45Speaker 1: You know, we honestly, I don't know, you know, we
- 10:48Speaker 1: just have not really seen that, you know, but she fly,
- 10:51Speaker 1: she's helping, you know, she says it.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You know, I might die Tonite, but is this worth it?
- 10:56Speaker 2: You know?
- 10:56Speaker 3: And that's the reality.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Like that was something else as I was watching this,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm like, and we talked about this on our recap,
- 11:03Speaker 1: is that the show always reminds you that death is
- 11:06Speaker 1: right around the corner for any of these people.
- 11:08Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:09Speaker 1: That is what this is about, any of these characters.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It's like, as you know, we're jumping around, but like
- 11:15Speaker 1: we say, if you've seen all three of these episodes,
- 11:17Speaker 1: then you know, obviously you know we're at But in
- 11:20Speaker 1: the third episode, I remember it was about halfway through
- 11:22Speaker 1: the third episode, you know, right when she's jumping off
- 11:25Speaker 1: where I'm like, fuck, man, you know, a needy people
- 11:28Speaker 1: to die, you know, Like I was like, the only
- 11:30Speaker 1: one I know who's going to live and I know
- 11:33Speaker 1: he's gonna die to spoiler alert, it is Cassie, you know, but.
- 11:37Speaker 3: It's I mean Boston's comed out all right, yeah, right,
- 11:41Speaker 3: she does.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I think I don't know too much about her, and
- 11:44Speaker 1: I'm avoiding that, you know, I know she's arived for
- 11:46Speaker 1: a while. Yeah, no, she right, yeah, she's still there
- 11:51Speaker 1: at the end of the return Yeah, okay, yeah, but
- 11:57Speaker 1: you know the rest of them, who knows what happens
- 11:59Speaker 1: to him? You know, maybe they eschipe to other parts
- 12:01Speaker 1: of the universe. I don't know, but I do know
- 12:03Speaker 1: the fact is that anyone of them could die at
- 12:06Speaker 1: any moment.
- 12:07Speaker 3: And you know, sadly that happens.
- 12:13Speaker 2: We'll get we'll get. Yeah. On episode one. One thing
- 12:18Speaker 2: that actually found really interesting is just to kind of
- 12:20Speaker 2: like summarize it into U like thematically. I guess you
- 12:24Speaker 2: could say, there's something really interesting about how each of
- 12:30Speaker 2: these scenes each taking place that includes everything from that
- 12:35Speaker 2: conversation who were just speaking about with Cassian and the defector,
- 12:39Speaker 2: that conversation we would just have it about, like well
- 12:43Speaker 2: within the previous podcast, like sort of the immigrant experience
- 12:47Speaker 2: and how you have a really relevant conversation about Visa's
- 12:52Speaker 2: coming up for U Bis and Brazo and Will I
- 12:59Speaker 2: believe his name is, and like how they are like
- 13:02Speaker 2: they're getting comfortable in this place and they find value
- 13:05Speaker 2: in themselves in this place and everything like that. But
- 13:06Speaker 2: the minute the Empire drops in and they're just like
- 13:09Speaker 2: we're just trying to deport some people, and like they're
- 13:12Speaker 2: having this conversation about like what is it, what is
- 13:14Speaker 2: it going to feel? Like, what is it going to
- 13:16Speaker 2: be when like our lives get lifted upside down? And
- 13:19Speaker 2: then you have another conversation with the empire where they're
- 13:22Speaker 2: just talking about like real casually, hey, this is how
- 13:26Speaker 2: you do a genocide. So that way we can get
- 13:28Speaker 2: agreed with I'm sorry, a bloring is and under our government,
- 13:36Speaker 2: and we can start having new resources that we can
- 13:38Speaker 2: mine for ourselves so we have an advantage and a
- 13:40Speaker 2: war comes up and then and like it's so many
- 13:44Speaker 2: of these conversations are also asking where are you in this?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Are you on the more like I work for the
- 13:51Speaker 2: empire when I'm a little bit complicit and I want
- 13:54Speaker 2: to do something about it. Are you someone who's just
- 13:56Speaker 2: like I feel like I need to top a way
- 13:58Speaker 2: and hide because they're coming directly for me because I
- 14:01Speaker 2: got a little bit of melonin in my skin? Are
- 14:03Speaker 2: you someone do you know someone that is like, uh,
- 14:08Speaker 2: like yeah, I'm just kind of like helping them do
- 14:10Speaker 2: the genocide. But at the same time, you know, like
- 14:12Speaker 2: it's it's for us, Like I like, uh, like you know,
- 14:15Speaker 2: like it's not what I want to do, but I'm
- 14:18Speaker 2: gonna do it because like that's the job, I guess,
- 14:20Speaker 2: you know, like like how like how like how do
- 14:24Speaker 2: you position yourself in this? And no matter who you are,
- 14:27Speaker 2: there's a place for you to be. There's even one
- 14:30Speaker 2: of my favorites is like, how much is actually shitting
- 14:32Speaker 2: on me being a leftist? I love it a shitting
- 14:35Speaker 2: on leftists and how unorganized they are and how like
- 14:41Speaker 2: terrible they are at this and how they quote that.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I always think about the USA Ben, which is like,
- 14:47Speaker 2: if you are going to be fighting a revolution, you
- 14:50Speaker 2: get used to eating rats, right and these motherfuckers do
- 14:52Speaker 2: not want to eat reds. R.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Mathma is not about that rat eating life right now
- 14:58Speaker 1: is nuts. Mam Mathma is thinking, okay, I can just
- 15:02Speaker 1: put money up. It'll be a nice, little, clean, pretty rebellion.
- 15:06Speaker 1: All my friends will live to the end, and my
- 15:09Speaker 1: hands will never be dirty. My hand will never be dirty,
- 15:12Speaker 1: and we'll all be And this like one thing I
- 15:17Speaker 1: also loved about this three episode art because it focuses
- 15:21Speaker 1: on this shandy wedding. You know it's a shandy wedding.
- 15:24Speaker 1: He came from three Valley's Weight should know better. I
- 15:29Speaker 1: love all the little details. Man, the fucking.
- 15:33Speaker 3: The disco ball DJ.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Everything was so awesome, but you know, it's the loss
- 15:39Speaker 1: of innocence because you know, we're one year later and
- 15:43Speaker 1: now Mon's daughter is getting married. You know, we weren't
- 15:46Speaker 1: sure where it was going, and you know, we are
- 15:49Speaker 1: at the wedding and Mon is against it. And before
- 15:53Speaker 1: we get there, like when you know the opening, you know,
- 15:55Speaker 1: we see the daughter showing off her gown and she's
- 15:58Speaker 1: all happy, and then we have this shot where Mon
- 16:02Speaker 1: walks around her estate up and downstairs. It's one long
- 16:07Speaker 1: shot and I'm sitting there like once again, we had
- 16:09Speaker 1: that tie interceptor scene at the beginning where I'm like, oh,
- 16:12Speaker 1: the money's being spent, and then I'm like, oh, not
- 16:15Speaker 1: only is the money being spent, we are stunting with
- 16:18Speaker 1: whatever type technology we're using. Because I know that was
- 16:21Speaker 1: a combination of set and CGI, but it felt seamless
- 16:25Speaker 1: and the way she was going up and downstairs, and
- 16:28Speaker 1: you know, we're getting reacquainted with all these characters and
- 16:31Speaker 1: where they're at, and she's overwhelmed with everything and things
- 16:35Speaker 1: are moving.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Luthan shows up.
- 16:37Speaker 1: She does not know why he's there, and she's thinking
- 16:39Speaker 1: like she said, she just like, Oh, here's to be
- 16:41Speaker 1: my nice little wedding. You know, you know, I hate
- 16:44Speaker 1: that my daughter's getting married, but this is my wedding.
- 16:47Speaker 1: This is not part of that rebellion shit over there.
- 16:49Speaker 1: You know, I'm having my good, clean life over here.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And no that's not the case, like you said, consequences.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's so much in like that shot to
- 17:00Speaker 2: where it's like even when ships are landing, there's like
- 17:04Speaker 2: just that gust of wind that's hitting everyone as like
- 17:07Speaker 2: things are taking off and stuff like that, and it's
- 17:10Speaker 2: just that level of immersion is happening there, and it
- 17:15Speaker 2: immediately is setting up a theme for mad Mathma and
- 17:18Speaker 2: what she's going to have to experience because she's been
- 17:21Speaker 2: within this rebellion for like over a year now, which
- 17:24Speaker 2: is a loss of control and there's things that are
- 17:28Speaker 2: like are mechanisms that are happening outside of her control.
- 17:31Speaker 2: And then to get a little bit further into where
- 17:34Speaker 2: we'll be going within this conversation, is that her realization
- 17:38Speaker 2: that she herself is a mechanism m hm, and and
- 17:43Speaker 2: like she does not have the ability to stop any
- 17:46Speaker 2: of this anymore, like she is in it. She's in
- 17:49Speaker 2: the eating the eating rat stage, and it's and like
- 17:55Speaker 2: I think if you could trade everything that's happening to
- 17:58Speaker 2: her with you need to eat a rat, like I
- 18:00Speaker 2: eat a one rat, she would probably do it. Yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 2: And that's like, that's such that's such a horrible position
- 18:08Speaker 2: for that character to be in, and you feel it,
- 18:09Speaker 2: and you feel it in the last moment.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Oh man, that last moment, Shorty is just trying to
- 18:15Speaker 1: you know what Salon say, you know, I try to
- 18:17Speaker 1: dance it away because you know she is straight up
- 18:20Speaker 1: just trying to you know, have her last moment of innocence,
- 18:24Speaker 1: her last you know, her drunken revelie, whatever you want
- 18:27Speaker 1: to call it, because after this it's over.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Well, I mean we're there. Let's let's get into it.
- 18:32Speaker 2: That them, Yeah, there is a there's something really interesting
- 18:36Speaker 2: there where like we're seeing like sort of like the
- 18:39Speaker 2: beginning of the end story of what she thought her
- 18:43Speaker 2: life was. Yes, and we're seeing this like she's having
- 18:48Speaker 2: any secret conversations with I forgot her name, but she
- 18:52Speaker 2: was a part of the uh the Albani mission. Her
- 18:57Speaker 2: friend there and like Eve, that's our cousin, yes, yes, yes,
- 19:02Speaker 2: her cousin. And they're having these little conversations and these
- 19:06Speaker 2: little whispers, and they both seem to feel a bit
- 19:10Speaker 2: more out of the loop, despite the fact that they
- 19:13Speaker 2: both are still heavily funding and involved with this rebellion,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and they're having these conversations with each other that feels
- 19:22Speaker 2: like it should be a bit more impactful, or that
- 19:26Speaker 2: that like you know anything, No, I don't know anything.
- 19:28Speaker 2: You know, why loseens here? I don't know why loosens here?
- 19:30Speaker 2: I don't know what's been going on lately, And like
- 19:31Speaker 2: they've been kept out of it, and it's because they
- 19:35Speaker 2: have been quietly playing these very specific roles, but they
- 19:40Speaker 2: were realizing that they're also not as important, that they're
- 19:43Speaker 2: kind of like propped up to lose more stuff as
- 19:47Speaker 2: they go along rather than see immediate progress. And the
- 19:51Speaker 2: immediate reflection of like who they're going to be eventually
- 19:56Speaker 2: is reflected within man Mathma's immediate like benefactor and like
- 20:02Speaker 2: and partner who has been losing constantly just all his money,
- 20:07Speaker 2: he has lost his marriage, he has lost his business,
- 20:11Speaker 2: and like he's just like, well, what do I get
- 20:13Speaker 2: out of this? I see you're doing all right, this
- 20:14Speaker 2: wedding looking to kind of fly in it, like what
- 20:16Speaker 2: is like that ball that crystal ball made out of
- 20:19Speaker 2: like a lot of like, well, I don't know what
- 20:22Speaker 2: money they've got in Star Wars credits.
- 20:24Speaker 1: The statue costs more than the house, yes, like it
- 20:28Speaker 1: costs a lot of credits.
- 20:30Speaker 2: So so he walks in there with like kind of
- 20:33Speaker 2: like on his own thing, and like I kind of
- 20:35Speaker 2: feel for the man where he's like, Yo, I've been
- 20:39Speaker 2: putting this up for a while, and I could get
- 20:41Speaker 2: like I could get hung immediately for any of this.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And it don't look like you've been putting it in
- 20:47Speaker 2: as much like it was like you're still doing just fine.
- 20:50Speaker 2: You eating over here, pretty good, you feeding me, you know,
- 20:54Speaker 2: like like where what am I going to see anything
- 20:56Speaker 2: out of this rebellion? And and you've seen any Mafia movie.
- 21:01Speaker 2: That's not the question you asked.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You said it, and you said it right there because
- 21:05Speaker 1: that's where it like, it reminded me so much of
- 21:08Speaker 1: Goodfellas where I can't remember the dude's name, but it
- 21:12Speaker 1: was the guy who had the two pei and he
- 21:14Speaker 1: was running the stupid ads and he was like, Yo,
- 21:17Speaker 1: what happened to my money? I was part of the
- 21:18Speaker 1: whole thing. Where's my cut? And he ends up dead. Yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and you know, it's like, damn.
- 21:24Speaker 2: We're watching a mafia right here. And Luthen, like.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Luthan has these lines, Like one of his lines in
- 21:31Speaker 1: the first season when he's giving that great speech to
- 21:33Speaker 1: the man is like, Dude's like, do you think about
- 21:35Speaker 1: what I've been through? He's like, I think of you often,
- 21:40Speaker 1: moving on of you constantly. Yeah, you know, moving on
- 21:43Speaker 1: you know what, And like he tells her, you know,
- 21:46Speaker 1: isn't that nice that you don't know what I'm talking about?
- 21:50Speaker 2: You know?
- 21:50Speaker 1: Isn't that great that you have this privilege to not
- 21:54Speaker 1: think that we are at war?
- 21:57Speaker 2: You know?
- 21:57Speaker 1: That was just like one of the most whole blood
- 22:00Speaker 1: hit it and just wonderful lines. And by the end
- 22:04Speaker 1: of this three episodes, that privilege is completely erase. And
- 22:06Speaker 1: even you know, her husband sees her and he's like, yo,
- 22:09Speaker 1: Surety really drinking and dancing now, Like the hell's going on?
- 22:13Speaker 3: You know, because I'm the one who's apposed to be
- 22:15Speaker 3: getting faded like that.
- 22:16Speaker 2: So there's something like cryptically horrible about that too. It
- 22:20Speaker 2: is that she says to her daughter when she's trying
- 22:23Speaker 2: to give her daughter an out. Boy, She's just like
- 22:25Speaker 2: none of this is important. None of this shit matters. Yep.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Like we could go out there and be like, hey,
- 22:31Speaker 2: we're going to convene on another day, like it's cool
- 22:35Speaker 2: and which is the sweetest thing you could say to
- 22:37Speaker 2: your daughter on her wedding day, And she immediately is
- 22:41Speaker 2: just hit with the wall of like, no, my daughter
- 22:43Speaker 2: is completely conservative and she doesn't see that even as
- 22:47Speaker 2: like she won't even entertain that as an option to
- 22:49Speaker 2: for an out.
- 22:50Speaker 1: She thinks, you're like yeah, and it, Oh my god, man,
- 22:53Speaker 1: this shows like people are talking about how this season
- 22:56Speaker 1: or Dared Devil Born Again is really hitting, you know.
- 22:59Speaker 1: But I'm like, y'all ain'ts in and or he had honestly,
- 23:02Speaker 1: because I've had these conversations with people where I'm like, oh,
- 23:06Speaker 1: you you really are you know, you drank the kool aid,
- 23:10Speaker 1: you know, like but you know in the famous leading
- 23:12Speaker 1: weapon too.
- 23:13Speaker 2: But but you're black, you know.
- 23:15Speaker 1: And I've had this conversation with brothers, Well I'm looking
- 23:18Speaker 1: at my you know, but you're black, you and you've
- 23:25Speaker 1: drunk the kool aid? You really believe you know, the
- 23:28Speaker 1: current state of affairs is the way it should be.
- 23:32Speaker 1: And that's what her daughter is I mean her daughter
- 23:34Speaker 1: is even like no, not even like it's not even
- 23:36Speaker 1: the current state affairs you want to make, you know,
- 23:39Speaker 1: she want to make the galaxy great again.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's basically just in the past, like twenty four hours,
- 23:46Speaker 2: she's been having this wedding party, and like all these events,
- 23:50Speaker 2: she seen her daughter break down and cry over something
- 23:52Speaker 2: as simple as like a little small spurt of fulty,
- 23:56Speaker 2: which she knows that like this is going to be
- 23:58Speaker 2: the rest of your life.
- 23:58Speaker 3: It's life.
- 23:59Speaker 2: It's only a tiny piece of what you're going to
- 24:02Speaker 2: be dealing with. And when my mother brings up to
- 24:05Speaker 2: her daughter just like my mother was too drunk on
- 24:10Speaker 2: my wedding day to say this, you are now within
- 24:13Speaker 2: her shoes from that moment on for the rest of
- 24:15Speaker 2: the episode, and you realize why her mother is drunk.
- 24:19Speaker 2: It's that level of powerlessness. It's that level of like,
- 24:23Speaker 2: this is the this is the one thing I can
- 24:24Speaker 2: do for me right now. It's I'm gonna bring up
- 24:28Speaker 2: a weird reference right now, but it's one of my
- 24:30Speaker 2: favorite moments in all of television, believe it or not.
- 24:33Speaker 2: There was that show that was like Kimmy Schmidt, where
- 24:37Speaker 2: it's an incredibly dark show that is a comedy about
- 24:42Speaker 2: how she lived like she was kidnapped and kept in
- 24:44Speaker 2: a bunker for most of the life. And they finally
- 24:47Speaker 2: meet her mother, who's played by Lisa Kudro, which I
- 24:50Speaker 2: think Lisa Kudro should have got a golden globe for
- 24:52Speaker 2: her all that she played because she's like a Carnie
- 24:56Speaker 2: now and she like is just traveling around and everything
- 24:59Speaker 2: like that. But when they ask her, like, how come
- 25:02Speaker 2: you didn't, like, how come you just did this? How
- 25:04Speaker 2: come you didn't do anything else? And it's because she
- 25:07Speaker 2: said that like whenever your roller coasters, people expect you
- 25:11Speaker 2: to scream, And that tells you the story of like
- 25:14Speaker 2: how hard she had looked for her how hard she
- 25:17Speaker 2: had fought for her daughter, everything that she needed to
- 25:19Speaker 2: do to get her back, and just knowing everyone ignored her,
- 25:23Speaker 2: everything failed, and so she went to this place where
- 25:25Speaker 2: she could actually just scream every day and it was normal.
- 25:29Speaker 2: And that is where Mam Mathma is and like it's
- 25:33Speaker 2: it's genius, it's brilliant, and like it's terrible. She's in
- 25:36Speaker 2: a new level of hell within these episodes.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and like you said, genius and brilliant. And the
- 25:43Speaker 1: first time I watched it, even the especially the dirt episode,
- 25:46Speaker 1: I was say, techno music and Star Wars what the fu.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Bands? Man?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Yeah, indeed, but that then again I was like, you know,
- 25:55Speaker 1: take your dumb ass biases away and remember what you're watching.
- 25:58Speaker 1: You're watching the show that at the Fey Free and
- 26:02Speaker 1: that music was so perfect because it's like just dance
- 26:05Speaker 1: to oblivat dance stands dance, you know, and no, you
- 26:09Speaker 1: cannot escape this. You know, this is it And like
- 26:12Speaker 1: you said, another reference we talked about on the recap
- 26:16Speaker 1: is the wire and from mom Mathma, it felt like
- 26:19Speaker 1: she was, you know, all noughty at the end of
- 26:22Speaker 1: the wire where she where he looked up and she
- 26:25Speaker 1: looks up and it's like, damn, the cycle continues. All
- 26:29Speaker 1: this shit I did, nothing mattered, and you know things
- 26:32Speaker 1: are gonna change from mon. But she knows that in
- 26:35Speaker 1: this corner of the universe, you know, in her personal corner,
- 26:39Speaker 1: there's nothing I can do about it.
- 26:42Speaker 2: And the last piece that you want to touch on
- 26:44Speaker 2: there is everything's reflected on within pair and her husband.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I love parent and like just how gross
- 26:52Speaker 2: that character is with his like diamond studded Jedi cosplay
- 26:58Speaker 2: and culturally appropriating even that his daughter's wedding and before
- 27:05Speaker 2: we we always like saw her in season one is
- 27:08Speaker 2: like immediately complicit, but now it's a bit more active
- 27:12Speaker 2: and towards how he feels about fascism and his wife's season,
- 27:16Speaker 2: and like the one thing that they point out heavily
- 27:19Speaker 2: within these episodes is how likable he is to everyone
- 27:22Speaker 2: else who wants to lean into complicity m hm. And
- 27:25Speaker 2: like he's talking about like the moments of laughter, the
- 27:28Speaker 2: moments of joy and everything like that, and he's immediately
- 27:32Speaker 2: avoiding the conversation of like what it costs because he's
- 27:36Speaker 2: a bad person, and like it usually costs nothing from him,
- 27:40Speaker 2: definitely costs from everything from everyone else within his environment,
- 27:44Speaker 2: including his wife. And so she that's immediately what triggers
- 27:47Speaker 2: her to go talk to her daughter, and like the
- 27:50Speaker 2: kind of seeing that that cycle started again, but also
- 27:55Speaker 2: seeing how she got into it to begin with, like
- 27:58Speaker 2: now makes sense, like he's just that silly, funny guy
- 28:01Speaker 2: that made me laugh and makes me happy when I'm
- 28:03Speaker 2: around him, And kind of seeing her her business partner,
- 28:10Speaker 2: who is now like pre cheats of the wind way
- 28:12Speaker 2: too loud about a rebellion at a party and everything
- 28:15Speaker 2: like that. He's like, I've been hanging out with your
- 28:17Speaker 2: husband's It's wild that that's the red flag, right, it's
- 28:21Speaker 2: wild that the red flag that he is not on
- 28:24Speaker 2: our side, that this man is going to blackmail me
- 28:27Speaker 2: for the rest of my life. That she found out
- 28:31Speaker 2: what the quote unquote number was by thinking about, like,
- 28:35Speaker 2: you've been hanging out with my fascist husband, therefore I
- 28:37Speaker 2: can't chill with you anymore. That's a level of dirt
- 28:43Speaker 2: that I wasn't fully braced for, you know what I mean.
- 28:47Speaker 3: But wasn't it also not just our husband that he
- 28:49Speaker 3: was also talking to her brother in law.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I guess that is now brother in law. Catch me
- 28:59Speaker 2: up on that, know if I remember.
- 29:00Speaker 1: He was talking not just to her husband, but also
- 29:03Speaker 1: to the dude who supplied the money in the first place.
- 29:06Speaker 2: The dude who oh yeah, I guess that would be her. Well,
- 29:10Speaker 2: it'll be her daughter's new father in law, father in law,
- 29:15Speaker 2: so that's her. So there's that's all. Know how that worked.
- 29:19Speaker 2: There's a degree of darkness in there. And this is
- 29:21Speaker 2: where I was talking about, where like she just discovers
- 29:24Speaker 2: that she is a mechanism, which is he is this.
- 29:29Speaker 2: He did the speech where he said that Luthen was
- 29:32Speaker 2: the one that came up with the idea and she
- 29:34Speaker 2: never knew it. So all of this and it's it's
- 29:38Speaker 2: kind of like quickly glazed over and we haven't seen
- 29:42Speaker 2: the results of it yet. Uh. And it's just a
- 29:45Speaker 2: moment where he's just like, yeah, Luthan came up with
- 29:48Speaker 2: this that we should introduce our kids to each other.
- 29:51Speaker 2: And so I brought it up to Mammathma and like
- 29:53Speaker 2: the look on her face is like it's a two
- 29:55Speaker 2: second shot and it is the most fury you'll see
- 29:59Speaker 2: out of my mouth out of the entire series so far.
- 30:02Speaker 2: And she hasn't had that conversation with Luthen yet because
- 30:06Speaker 2: the hushed conversations they've had or it's like, are you
- 30:09Speaker 2: about to murder my friend?
- 30:10Speaker 3: Answer was yes, so yeah, so god damn.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Luthen has always like he's behind dude, Yeah, just behind
- 30:22Speaker 1: everything everything, all right.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Oh.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Another thing I wanted to touch on in this first
- 30:28Speaker 1: episode is the ministry of Enlightenment and these strumbad niggas
- 30:31Speaker 1: who are yeah, like that whole.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Sequence, what's my man's saying?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Critic The return of Critic isn't it critic heard critic, Yes,
- 30:42Speaker 1: and I mean just I don't know the act name,
- 30:45Speaker 1: but you know, absolutely eating it as critic as always.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And then the whole Ministry of Enlightenment, the Gorman video,
- 30:53Speaker 1: like the Gorman Tourism video, everything about that scene. It's
- 30:57Speaker 1: like all these things that we haven't really seen its
- 31:00Speaker 1: wars that much, but just feel so right, you know,
- 31:03Speaker 1: for it. And in the Ministry of Enlightenment just being
- 31:06Speaker 1: the most evil prs come ever. It's just so right
- 31:10Speaker 1: because that's you know, Nazis had this type of thing,
- 31:13Speaker 1: the Empire would have that type of thing. I mean,
- 31:15Speaker 1: America has this type of thing.
- 31:16Speaker 2: So you know, I these oh my god, I hate
- 31:21Speaker 2: every one of these fus. It's pretty much of our
- 31:24Speaker 2: current government. And like there's this whole conversation that they
- 31:28Speaker 2: have where it's just like okay, everybody spit all the
- 31:32Speaker 2: genocide and break it's everywhere. It's just like, so, how
- 31:35Speaker 2: this is how we started off. We're gonna get the
- 31:36Speaker 2: propaganda in there, We're gonna blame the brown people, and
- 31:39Speaker 2: then once we bring the brown people boom, next thing,
- 31:42Speaker 2: you know, they're gonna start killing the brown people. We
- 31:43Speaker 2: come in and were just like, hey, we're gonna help
- 31:46Speaker 2: you with that, and then we're gonna get in there,
- 31:49Speaker 2: We're gonna take over everything. It's gonna be great. And
- 31:51Speaker 2: then everyone is just like maybe we just start you know,
- 31:54Speaker 2: like maybe maybe we just start doing like a massive
- 31:56Speaker 2: amount of rest. I don't know, we just get them
- 31:59Speaker 2: like oh and like maybe we like everyone is doing
- 32:03Speaker 2: their little part to just kind of like talk over
- 32:08Speaker 2: cheese and fucking crackers. Yeah, the palest individuals you've ever seen,
- 32:13Speaker 2: all discussing how do I commit a genocide? And like
- 32:17Speaker 2: before before we come from that too. There is something
- 32:21Speaker 2: that like Tony Gilroy did with the casting that I
- 32:23Speaker 2: think is very important for everyone on the Imperial side,
- 32:26Speaker 2: and that goes from season one to season two, is
- 32:28Speaker 2: that everyone that is on the Imperial side is a
- 32:32Speaker 2: very pale, weird looking or awkward loser. It is entirely
- 32:41Speaker 2: dedicated to people who look like they could not survive
- 32:44Speaker 2: in the wild West, which is essentially what Star Wars
- 32:46Speaker 2: universe is. They do not have the physical ability, and
- 32:50Speaker 2: so it is like they joined the Empire because they
- 32:54Speaker 2: believe it is the correct thing to level the playing feel.
- 32:58Speaker 2: And you can see that even.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah, because I mean, it's I love that you pointed
- 33:06Speaker 1: that out, because it is like all even the minor characters,
- 33:08Speaker 1: but like Cyril is like one of the prime examples
- 33:11Speaker 1: of that, because Cyril is someone who is just looking
- 33:14Speaker 1: for love and acceptance. And it's like, I know, there's
- 33:17Speaker 1: a lot of fault these Yeah, there's a lot. There's
- 33:22Speaker 1: a lot of talk these days about you know, young
- 33:24Speaker 1: men and how they're lonely and how they end up
- 33:26Speaker 1: on these right wing extrematisms. And I've seen it now,
- 33:30Speaker 1: oh man, I've seen it, you know, but it's so sad.
- 33:34Speaker 2: But you know, I also was used to be.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Like wow, you know why, you know, and fucking dudes,
- 33:39Speaker 1: get over yourself. But then you see someone like Cyril
- 33:42Speaker 1: and it's so plainly, you know, shown on the show
- 33:46Speaker 1: that it can happen to anyone, you know, because people
- 33:50Speaker 1: are out here just looking for love and looking for
- 33:52Speaker 1: you know, groups and ways to find yourself and people
- 33:56Speaker 1: to reinforce your way of thinking. And then, like you said,
- 33:58Speaker 1: when you're not someone who survive in this rough, rugged
- 34:02Speaker 1: world that you know, this universe is, and you know
- 34:05Speaker 1: our world is for that matter, like America is still
- 34:08Speaker 1: very much the wild wild West.
- 34:10Speaker 3: You're gonna look for a stronger group to take care
- 34:12Speaker 3: of you.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna look for something that has like some
- 34:15Speaker 2: kind of a stranglehold, something that can add some kind
- 34:18Speaker 2: of level of authority over everyone. And then all you
- 34:23Speaker 2: gotta do is just kind of rise your ranks in
- 34:24Speaker 2: that and it's just like well, and then you're like, now,
- 34:27Speaker 2: this is how society should work, like a like a
- 34:30Speaker 2: fucking loser, because like, the more you're gonna extract freedoms
- 34:33Speaker 2: away from people, the more you feel safe, the more
- 34:36Speaker 2: that you can feel comfort. And then the things that
- 34:40Speaker 2: you are offering more people is just complicity as and
- 34:43Speaker 2: because you're speaking to them as if it's a matter
- 34:45Speaker 2: of fact, it's like this is this is just how
- 34:48Speaker 2: the world should work. This is how it should look,
- 34:51Speaker 2: and like this is how it should be because look
- 34:53Speaker 2: at how like peaceful things could be if everyone just
- 34:57Speaker 2: had just was told to do to do they should
- 35:00Speaker 2: be doing a little bit more often. And that's why
- 35:04Speaker 2: that's why you just punched them in the face. And
- 35:07Speaker 2: you have to bring the real world to them. You
- 35:09Speaker 2: got to you got two ways to do it, and
- 35:11Speaker 2: they're connected with your body. But yeah, and.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Cyril's like a great example. Like I said this on
- 35:19Speaker 1: a recap we were talking about like the prison arc
- 35:22Speaker 1: and how well it illustrates prison, and I feel like Cyril,
- 35:27Speaker 1: his whole arc is another side of that that I
- 35:29Speaker 1: feel like isn't distress enough as well as like the jailers.
- 35:33Speaker 1: You know, I realized this when I was incarcerated, that
- 35:36Speaker 1: the jailers were in a much worse position than me
- 35:38Speaker 1: because this was their.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Life, Like I was going to go home at some point.
- 35:41Speaker 2: These motherfuckers was going to come.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Back to work and this day and still be in
- 35:44Speaker 1: this prison, and it's going to affect them, because you know,
- 35:48Speaker 1: taking people's freedom away is going to affect you just
- 35:51Speaker 1: as much, and it's trying to institutionalize you in a way.
- 35:54Speaker 1: And we see that when when Cyril is recruiting the
- 35:57Speaker 1: new person into like every time they that office, bro,
- 36:01Speaker 1: I just it is like one of the most disturbing
- 36:06Speaker 1: sights I've ever seen in my life. Like I used
- 36:08Speaker 1: to have nightmares as a kid about things like that,
- 36:11Speaker 1: and seeing it realize in real life is just so disturbing.
- 36:16Speaker 1: And Cero is now fully engaged in it, where he's like,
- 36:19Speaker 1: this is how it should be and if you just
- 36:21Speaker 1: put into work, you can just be a mindless minion
- 36:24Speaker 1: and your rise up in the ranks of mindless minions
- 36:27Speaker 1: and it'll be great.
- 36:28Speaker 2: He's like, isn't there so much peace in that? Yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 2: look at this order and like and like it's such
- 36:34Speaker 2: a genius move. I was not expecting to come into
- 36:36Speaker 2: the season and he would be the comedy relief. Yes,
- 36:40Speaker 2: and like it's it's completely laughing at anyone of his
- 36:44Speaker 2: style and his point of view. And I wonder how
- 36:46Speaker 2: many people are gonna understand that, like he is the comedy.
- 36:49Speaker 2: There's everything dealing with like his mom and his girlfriend
- 36:53Speaker 2: having a conversation where they are taking turns command again,
- 36:57Speaker 2: because he is like the camera the camera work is
- 37:01Speaker 2: even playing with it. Because there's a point where he
- 37:04Speaker 2: goes out of focus in the background to.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Mom destroying his cake.
- 37:14Speaker 1: You know that he has this perfect structure too, and
- 37:17Speaker 1: the mom is just sitting there mashing the kate to
- 37:20Speaker 1: death as she's eating, just destroying everything about it. And
- 37:26Speaker 1: I'll say this, I never thought watching songs before that.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I'll you know that I had to thought. I wondered
- 37:32Speaker 1: that is that man like being pegged or like Edging
- 37:34Speaker 1: one or the two. You know, this man is.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Out by the end of the season.
- 37:39Speaker 3: To be honest, I seriously feel like we're gonna find
- 37:41Speaker 3: out by the.
- 37:42Speaker 1: End of the season. But he's either a Pegger or
- 37:45Speaker 1: an Edginer. And that's all I'm gonna say on that.
- 37:47Speaker 1: If you don't know who those are, you can google it, folks.
- 37:49Speaker 1: But yeah, dedre that Detra definitely pumps Peggy. That's that's
- 37:55Speaker 1: a great song got if you haven't heard it, but
- 37:56Speaker 1: you know she's that That's definitely on her playlist.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Definitely. I'm going to be referring to him as baby
- 38:02Speaker 2: Girl for the remainder of the season. He has strong
- 38:05Speaker 2: like I don't know if you know the phrase, but
- 38:07Speaker 2: baby girl, I mean, like if you know Cyril car
- 38:09Speaker 2: and do you know what the phrase baby girl means.
- 38:11Speaker 2: It's just like, ah, like it's kind of like like
- 38:14Speaker 2: this little like little lamb of a child that needs
- 38:18Speaker 2: to be protecting, it needs to be told what to do,
- 38:21Speaker 2: and like that's that's where Cyril is in this relationship.
- 38:25Speaker 2: It's just there's nothing like he's always aspiring for more
- 38:30Speaker 2: than what he actually deserves, and he is like he
- 38:36Speaker 2: thinks he's near the top because his girlfriend is at
- 38:41Speaker 2: the top, and so he's just like, oh, by proxy,
- 38:44Speaker 2: I am doing amazing.
- 38:49Speaker 4: That scene where he's laying in bed and his eyes
- 38:52Speaker 4: are open and his asses in the air, he's just
- 38:56Speaker 4: kind of letting the adults that control his life talking
- 38:59Speaker 4: the other rude.
- 39:01Speaker 1: He might as well have had his thumb in his mouth, boy,
- 39:03Speaker 1: and like it was yeah, I mean he was purely
- 39:06Speaker 1: in the fetal position.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Oh boy, zero like zero.
- 39:12Speaker 2: It's incredible. It's such a I wasn't expecting it, U,
- 39:17Speaker 2: my wife wud laughing the entire time. I loved every
- 39:20Speaker 2: serial carime of it.
- 39:22Speaker 1: I was not expecting him in Dedra, right, it's Dedra. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:26Speaker 1: I was not him in Dedra to be together. But
- 39:28Speaker 1: I love it. I love that they are both these
- 39:31Speaker 1: two people who have no soul and they're like trying
- 39:34Speaker 1: to put on the face of a human and these
- 39:36Speaker 1: old encounters and it's just failing miserably, and then Dedra
- 39:41Speaker 1: just leans into it, like, you know, this is who
- 39:43Speaker 1: I am. Let me just boss this mom around and
- 39:47Speaker 1: then smirk after I've done it.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Well, I want to ask you questions about Dedra too, because,
- 39:52Speaker 2: like the character is complicated in the way that I
- 39:55Speaker 2: don't quite understand. Yeah, there's a complexity to her just
- 39:59Speaker 2: kind of need to run away from doing this genocide? Yeap?
- 40:05Speaker 2: And is that a conversation about what she thinks the
- 40:08Speaker 2: empire is compared to what the empire actually is? Like
- 40:14Speaker 2: there is a level of like how zero is just
- 40:16Speaker 2: like I want control, Like I love the structure of
- 40:20Speaker 2: control in the border and Dedra I believe, I personally
- 40:24Speaker 2: believe she thinks that she's legitimately doing good, that the
- 40:29Speaker 2: Empire are the good guys. And then when you start
- 40:32Speaker 2: to dip into things like hey, we're gonna have to
- 40:34Speaker 2: run a run a genocide on an entire planet? Is
- 40:38Speaker 2: she like the military soldier? It is suddenly like, you know,
- 40:42Speaker 2: what if I'm defected? What if I just want a
- 40:44Speaker 2: wall or anything like that? And I don't know if
- 40:46Speaker 2: it's that far, but it's the level of doubt that
- 40:49Speaker 2: they do emphasize in multiple scenes and conversations with it
- 40:54Speaker 2: that is like where is this character, Like what does
- 40:57Speaker 2: she want? What exactly does she want to people?
- 41:01Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing, like you know, her superior tells her,
- 41:04Speaker 1: you know, you've been sitting here chasing access for the
- 41:06Speaker 1: last years. You know, you've made this whole story up.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Maybe it's like she knows that she can't catch him,
- 41:12Speaker 1: so that's why she, you know, kept following him around.
- 41:16Speaker 1: But I don't know if it's as much that she
- 41:19Speaker 1: doesn't want to do the genocide, is that she doesn't
- 41:21Speaker 1: want to do this genocide.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I feel like she feels like this genocide.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Is beneath her.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I don't feel like she's opposed to genocide. That's not
- 41:33Speaker 1: the vibe that I got from her. I got she
- 41:35Speaker 1: might enjoy genocide and too, you know, I think that
- 41:39Speaker 1: she feels like this genocide is beneath her, and that's
- 41:42Speaker 1: why she doesn't want to be involved. Like she's sitting there,
- 41:44Speaker 1: you know, like she's looking at these idiots walking around
- 41:47Speaker 1: this room and she's like, why am I here? I'm
- 41:49Speaker 1: better than this? Once again, the serial thing. You know,
- 41:52Speaker 1: she's in this room full of these old men. She's
- 41:54Speaker 1: the only woman there. You know, all these dudes are
- 41:58Speaker 1: there and they're all talking a bunch of dumb shit.
- 42:01Speaker 1: And she knows the solution right away.
- 42:03Speaker 2: She knows.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Critic knows that she knows the solution. She knows that's
- 42:05Speaker 1: why she's there. But she still feels like this is
- 42:08Speaker 1: beneath her. Now, we'll see when the actual genociding gets
- 42:13Speaker 1: down how does that affect her.
- 42:15Speaker 3: But at this point, I.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Think she's still you know, I'm yeah, I wasn't really
- 42:21Speaker 1: getting the vibe like she's ready to break it off
- 42:23Speaker 1: with the Empire yet.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah, because there's definitely like so both her and Serial
- 42:28Speaker 2: are characters that we've discovered within the last season that
- 42:32Speaker 2: they're both characters who have helped problems pulling the trigger. Yeah,
- 42:37Speaker 2: they can't get real handsy, not like our girl Senna,
- 42:42Speaker 2: who is only pulls the trigger. Man, I just take
- 42:47Speaker 2: a quick sidebar for that. Oh yeah, she popped up.
- 42:50Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, did that dude in at the end
- 42:54Speaker 1: of the last season when she what are you doing here?
- 42:57Speaker 3: Don't wait?
- 42:59Speaker 2: Take this knife? Stupid questions and we are not lucky
- 43:05Speaker 2: he didn't run into her around the corner. But but,
- 43:11Speaker 2: but the two of them do not have that ability
- 43:14Speaker 2: at all. Or but she does have the advantage of
- 43:17Speaker 2: that she is a tactical genius and uh like a
- 43:21Speaker 2: terrifying one at that and more hands off one. She
- 43:24Speaker 2: is sort of like their mom Mafma and after and uh,
- 43:29Speaker 2: it's it's interesting to see like, even when she's not
- 43:34Speaker 2: hands on, does she still feel like her hands could
- 43:37Speaker 2: get too dirty? So I do want to see where
- 43:39Speaker 2: that goes. And speaking of hands getting dirty, everything that's
- 43:45Speaker 2: happening with bis Brizzo and Will Oh Jesus, I don't know.
- 43:52Speaker 2: You want to you want to get us int in
- 43:53Speaker 2: this one.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I mean, the first thing I want to say it,
- 43:55Speaker 1: I remember you had we were talking about this when
- 43:58Speaker 1: I was doing my rewatch and I was like, I've
- 44:00Speaker 1: forgotten about how fucked up bigs of storyline was, you
- 44:05Speaker 1: know during the first like since I've watched it the
- 44:07Speaker 1: first time, And then when I rewatched, I was like, oh.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. This some of the those horrible shit ever,
- 44:12Speaker 3: you know.
- 44:13Speaker 1: And this is something that I really relate to right
- 44:16Speaker 1: now because I've had a recent you know, you know,
- 44:20Speaker 1: I've lived through in gartortions, I had a lot of
- 44:22Speaker 1: recent very traumatic experiences where I've I've had a hard
- 44:27Speaker 1: time moving on and I spent a lot of time
- 44:29Speaker 1: in my thoughts reliving them. And so this opening, like
- 44:35Speaker 1: the opening when she's in bed and has the nightmare,
- 44:37Speaker 1: it just it really rocked me. You know, all everything
- 44:41Speaker 1: she's going through has been rocking me. It's it's hard
- 44:45Speaker 1: for me to watch the scenes with bigs, honestly.
- 44:48Speaker 2: And before moving on from that, I won't want. I
- 44:51Speaker 2: do want to give a quick shout out, but Adria
- 44:53Speaker 2: Arjona is giving the best performance of the series so
- 44:56Speaker 2: far in that same in these episodes and saying a
- 45:00Speaker 2: lot everyone in the show is a heavy hitter, yeah,
- 45:04Speaker 2: but she radiates this like just she's forcing herself to
- 45:11Speaker 2: get through every day. Yeah, every line of dialogue, and like,
- 45:16Speaker 2: it's incredible to performance she's doing. And I'm afraid of
- 45:19Speaker 2: it be getting overlooked. It probably won't because I am
- 45:23Speaker 2: just crossing fingers there's some big stuff playing for her
- 45:25Speaker 2: in the future. But it's it's a hell of a
- 45:29Speaker 2: performance that she's doing because whenever she's on the screen,
- 45:32Speaker 2: I am stressed.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, like I say, Like I said, over the
- 45:38Speaker 1: last year, I've had some dramatic experiences where I've been,
- 45:40Speaker 1: you know, having a hard time, man, I know what
- 45:42Speaker 1: that's like. Whereas like every moment you're having to you know, okay,
- 45:47Speaker 1: I'm here right now, Like I've had to live that
- 45:50Speaker 1: a lot, lady like I am here.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I'm not there. I'm here right now.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Keep going bit and it's been tough, and I see
- 46:00Speaker 1: and feel it in her and Rewatching this is I mean,
- 46:05Speaker 1: watching this has been so difficult and we're gonna have
- 46:08Speaker 1: to talk about it because there's an attempted rape in
- 46:13Speaker 1: this episode and beyond, Like, I don't know what that's like,
- 46:19Speaker 1: but I do know, like I say, I've had this year,
- 46:22Speaker 1: I had some shit happened to me where it's like
- 46:24Speaker 1: I was taking advantage of even and it's hard to
- 46:29Speaker 1: deal with that when you know, you feel like you're
- 46:31Speaker 1: at fault, et cetera, all these.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Type of things.
- 46:34Speaker 1: And I didn't have an opportunity to fight back and
- 46:39Speaker 1: you know, against the person who did it to me,
- 46:41Speaker 1: which was fantastic to see, but it was so many
- 46:46Speaker 1: levels to it, because, like I said, I've been where
- 46:48Speaker 1: I've been incarcerated, and I can't imagine someone who was
- 46:52Speaker 1: involved in that incarceration coming back, you know, or someone
- 46:55Speaker 1: associated with that coming back around and attempting to violate
- 46:59Speaker 1: me again.
- 47:01Speaker 2: All Right, It's it's horrible, it's tragic. I'm sorry. I'm
- 47:09Speaker 2: sorry for whatever you feeling in the process too, because
- 47:12Speaker 2: the like they definitely are portraying it as realistic as
- 47:17Speaker 2: possible to get into like the pst PS TV of
- 47:22Speaker 2: everything that's happening with this character. She there's moments where
- 47:28Speaker 2: you don't want her in a room alone, you don't
- 47:32Speaker 2: want her to just kind of like get too much space,
- 47:36Speaker 2: and you just want other characters around the comfort her
- 47:39Speaker 2: and the level of tention she's adding to the entire
- 47:44Speaker 2: series in each one of her scenes where it's just
- 47:47Speaker 2: like when the guardrails start to feel this is the
- 47:51Speaker 2: person that is going to affect immediately, and it's it's
- 47:56Speaker 2: hard to watch. It's really hard to watch, and you're
- 47:59Speaker 2: always rooting for her. It's incredibly compelling, but at the
- 48:02Speaker 2: same time, it's one of those things where it's just like, Yo,
- 48:05Speaker 2: can we give a big submitte? Can we give her?
- 48:07Speaker 2: Can we can we give her some time to just
- 48:09Speaker 2: kind of like breathe for a bit or anything like that.
- 48:12Speaker 2: She she's a refugee on the run. She's lost everything,
- 48:15Speaker 2: she lost her boyfriend in the first season was it
- 48:18Speaker 2: She's She's she was tortured and tortured by listening to
- 48:25Speaker 2: the sound of colonized creatures children scream as constantly as
- 48:31Speaker 2: they were killed yes, and the Star Wars compendium they
- 48:39Speaker 2: actually talk about like it. I think it was only
- 48:41Speaker 2: like five or so people were tortured that way and
- 48:43Speaker 2: they all went out of their minds and she put
- 48:46Speaker 2: Bis on that list. Is it's intense, So I don't
- 48:51Speaker 2: even know where the character is going to go if
- 48:53Speaker 2: that was the conclusion as to what happened to all
- 48:56Speaker 2: those individuals.
- 49:00Speaker 1: No, And I remember like when, like I said, when
- 49:01Speaker 1: you're talking about you know, I just want to see
- 49:03Speaker 1: Bigs fight back this season. I did too, But it's
- 49:08Speaker 1: also like we're having to see everything, you know, like
- 49:11Speaker 1: we keep going back to the consequences of everything that
- 49:15Speaker 1: happened to Big in the first season.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Even though she is this.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Warrior, you know, one of the probably the toughest character
- 49:21Speaker 1: on the show. You know, she's been through a lot,
- 49:24Speaker 1: and it even the strongest among us, you know, can
- 49:30Speaker 1: crumble and fall and you see that, and like you said,
- 49:33Speaker 1: you're just always rooting for her. You just want someone
- 49:37Speaker 1: to hug her, and it just it hurts so much
- 49:40Speaker 1: the end of this you know, three episode arc, because
- 49:45Speaker 1: we have that mirroring of the first three episode arc
- 49:49Speaker 1: where Cassie and was being taken off his planet, you know,
- 49:51Speaker 1: as a young boy and as a grown man by
- 49:55Speaker 1: Marva and by Luthen, and now he's taking you know,
- 49:59Speaker 1: Bigs and Will away and he looks back at Bigs
- 50:03Speaker 1: and Bix is completely shattered, and you know he doesn't
- 50:07Speaker 1: even have that look of hope or that smile that
- 50:09Speaker 1: Marv gave him, you know anything.
- 50:12Speaker 3: It's just you know, Cassie in his drain.
- 50:15Speaker 1: You know, he's not even the same person that we
- 50:18Speaker 1: met at the beginning of this three episode arc when
- 50:21Speaker 1: he's all telling Shorty, you know this is all it's about,
- 50:23Speaker 1: and you know it's worth it, you know, even if
- 50:25Speaker 1: you die tonight, because he didn't die. You know, he
- 50:28Speaker 1: has that survivor's remorse now where it's like I didn't
- 50:32Speaker 1: die and the person who shouldn't have died is dead
- 50:34Speaker 1: there on the ground and I have to keep going.
- 50:38Speaker 2: There's a there's that level of like, uh, like the
- 50:41Speaker 2: loss of Braso is the loss.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Of normalcy, yeah, the innocence again.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Even back on Feryx, there is like that level of
- 50:50Speaker 2: like what Brazo's there, or like I'm in some trouble,
- 50:53Speaker 2: Brazel's gonna come for me, yeap, Like I'm gonna give
- 50:55Speaker 2: a story from for Brazo to tell, and Brazo came
- 50:58Speaker 2: up with a better yes immediately, and like there's and
- 51:01Speaker 2: like Braseo is the one that Brad will and he's
- 51:04Speaker 2: just like we you're gonna put on here. Braso is
- 51:06Speaker 2: just like the heart of everything. Yeah, and you when
- 51:11Speaker 2: you have someone like that around, there's still a little
- 51:13Speaker 2: bit of the youth you can have left. There's still
- 51:15Speaker 2: like a little bit of like, uh, like I could
- 51:18Speaker 2: I could mess up a little bit because Braso is
- 51:21Speaker 2: there and that crutch is gone, and like it's it's devastating,
- 51:27Speaker 2: and especially in this world that's like so incredibly dark,
- 51:30Speaker 2: where I think within the that particular storyline within these
- 51:36Speaker 2: three episodes, the moment that like, uh, even more than
- 51:40Speaker 2: the assault itself, but the moment that shook me the
- 51:43Speaker 2: most was when Will is saying goodbye too is essentially
- 51:46Speaker 2: his girlfriend on the planet, and when she runs back
- 51:49Speaker 2: to her planet, the imps are there and they're like
- 51:53Speaker 2: doing an inglorious Basroods thing, questioning her parents and she
- 51:57Speaker 2: walks up that one sniffly little piece of shit is
- 52:04Speaker 2: like he like takes a glance at her and the
- 52:07Speaker 2: mother looks at her daughter, She's like, get in the house. Yep,
- 52:10Speaker 2: so what do you mean. She was like, get in
- 52:11Speaker 2: the house because I told you to get in the house.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Because she immediately recognized that he was a predator, that
- 52:17Speaker 2: he was a weak man who had got like just
- 52:20Speaker 2: just enough power to do what he wants to someone
- 52:23Speaker 2: like that, and like that is like horrific.
- 52:27Speaker 1: And it was when he walked up on Bis, you know,
- 52:31Speaker 1: the very first time and started talking to her and like,
- 52:37Speaker 1: like I said, I've been incarcerated and I've had to
- 52:40Speaker 1: deal with my jailers, you know, when they would talk
- 52:44Speaker 1: to you and just be like kiss my ass basically,
- 52:48Speaker 1: you know, or what you know, and you had to
- 52:51Speaker 1: sit there and smile on their face and add like
- 52:53Speaker 1: everything's normal when you and them both know it's not
- 52:56Speaker 1: normal and at any point they can inflict any type
- 52:59Speaker 1: of torture or anything.
- 53:00Speaker 2: They want on you.
- 53:02Speaker 1: And as a woman, you know bigs who've been through
- 53:06Speaker 1: all the stuff before, it just it fucking made my
- 53:10Speaker 1: stint crawl.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Man.
- 53:11Speaker 2: It's just like, yeah, yeah.
- 53:15Speaker 1: I was so happy when she fucking hit that dude
- 53:17Speaker 1: over the head and then when she hit him again.
- 53:21Speaker 3: And that is something else. I want to give the
- 53:23Speaker 3: shout to the filmmakers.
- 53:24Speaker 1: I love how Bigs fought, Like she immediately struck that
- 53:29Speaker 1: man with the bone, you know, hit him with the
- 53:31Speaker 1: karate chop to the face right away, smart move, kicked
- 53:35Speaker 1: to the balls, you know, continually hit him at all
- 53:38Speaker 1: his weak spots, and then when she got her hand
- 53:40Speaker 1: on the hammer, laid it down on his ass as
- 53:43Speaker 1: she should.
- 53:44Speaker 2: And what's really interesting about the way that Bigs fights too,
- 53:47Speaker 2: is that like there's something about her fighting herself even
- 53:52Speaker 2: more than she's fighting assailant. Yeah, it's her like pushing
- 53:57Speaker 2: past the fear you and I watching is know that
- 54:01Speaker 2: she that man is as good as that, Yeah, And
- 54:04Speaker 2: like that's that's an awareness that we have. But the
- 54:06Speaker 2: thing that is very specific is that like she's working
- 54:10Speaker 2: through a trauma in the middle of that fight, and
- 54:13Speaker 2: and that makes him a little bit worse than just
- 54:15Speaker 2: a regular like stormtrooper to kind of come into a
- 54:18Speaker 2: room like that. And it's like she has that like
- 54:23Speaker 2: that greediness about her and it's a level of rent
- 54:27Speaker 2: that unfortunately we can't extend to the I can't even
- 54:33Speaker 2: call him rebels, but the uh, but the individuals that
- 54:39Speaker 2: take Cassie in hostage on the planet.
- 54:44Speaker 3: I have my.
- 54:47Speaker 1: One last thing on BIGS is like that I wanted
- 54:49Speaker 1: to say, Like you said, she's fighting her trauma and
- 54:51Speaker 1: she's also like she tells, dude, it's like kind of
- 54:55Speaker 1: like the Wolverine situation where it's like, you know, don't
- 54:58Speaker 1: do this or I'm want to kill you.
- 55:02Speaker 2: You know, like you either you.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Think you're gonna you know, attack me and do everything
- 55:07Speaker 1: you want with me, and like I'm begging for mercy.
- 55:09Speaker 1: I'm saying, you know, please don't do it because I
- 55:11Speaker 1: don't want to be you know, assaulted. No, it's like,
- 55:13Speaker 1: please don't do this because I'm going to break you
- 55:16Speaker 1: in half, you know, and that's going to be the
- 55:18Speaker 1: end of view. And yet I have in my notes
- 55:22Speaker 1: on the Yeah, like you said, I can't call them
- 55:26Speaker 1: the rebels.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Yeah, lord of the flies.
- 55:31Speaker 1: And clowns is what I kept referring to them again
- 55:35Speaker 1: and again.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Clowns.
- 55:38Speaker 2: There are they like Bushwick e wuks.
- 55:43Speaker 1: They are like and but again, like I know you
- 55:46Speaker 1: were talking about this in the recap, how you like
- 55:48Speaker 1: how it calls out liberals and everyone involved because it
- 55:54Speaker 1: shows you that, like you know, we say go back
- 55:56Speaker 1: to my one of my favorite quotes, you know, are
- 55:58Speaker 1: you ready to eat rats and survive?
- 56:00Speaker 3: And these dudes were not ready to eat rats.
- 56:03Speaker 1: You know, not on one of them was ready to
- 56:06Speaker 1: eat rats.
- 56:07Speaker 3: They couldn't even eat fucking melons. Like these niggas was
- 56:10Speaker 3: not about that life even but they.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Talking about like where's my contact that I'm supposed to meet?
- 56:15Speaker 2: Like Cassie is just like, who's the dude who was
- 56:16Speaker 2: supposed to meet? About this ship? And they the only
- 56:19Speaker 2: real response they could have because they can't even take
- 56:21Speaker 2: accountability for the stupid shiit to think it was just
- 56:23Speaker 2: like he was very neat. Yeah, that's what he does.
- 56:28Speaker 2: He's a daser.
- 56:29Speaker 3: We are a war, yeah.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Like, oh my god, Cassie is like, oh my god,
- 56:33Speaker 1: I've wandered into a crew of idiots. And like you said,
- 56:36Speaker 1: he keeps emphasizing, look, we are fighting a rebellion. We
- 56:40Speaker 1: are on the same side. And these idiots over here
- 56:44Speaker 1: just can't get it cause they're looking for glory, they're
- 56:46Speaker 1: looking for fame.
- 56:47Speaker 2: You know.
- 56:47Speaker 1: They're like the young dudes who got enlisted and thought
- 56:50Speaker 1: it was gonna be you know, women and.
- 56:52Speaker 2: All that shit.
- 56:53Speaker 1: When they got overseas and then they realized they're in
- 56:55Speaker 1: the war and it's the slaughterhouse.
- 56:57Speaker 2: It's definitely like so Lufen actually and saw Gerera talk
- 57:01Speaker 2: about this at near the end of the first season,
- 57:04Speaker 2: that these people exist and they're the biggest headache that
- 57:08Speaker 2: they have because it's just like every like all of
- 57:11Speaker 2: these groups are from different sectors and they all have
- 57:14Speaker 2: the fighting spirit of just like I am going to
- 57:15Speaker 2: fuck up the empire, but they hate each other and
- 57:20Speaker 2: like they are always bumping hands with each other, and
- 57:23Speaker 2: it's just it's a mess and the kind of like
- 57:27Speaker 2: and I know you and I love this show, and
- 57:29Speaker 2: like I wish more people watched it. But the first
- 57:32Speaker 2: season of The Saved by the Belle Rebel, at the
- 57:37Speaker 2: end of the the the end of the season, there's
- 57:41Speaker 2: that whole argument where it's like all of the very
- 57:44Speaker 2: progressive leftist groups are yelling at each other to solve
- 57:49Speaker 2: a problem about racism, and it's just like it's just
- 57:56Speaker 2: like we need to do the best poetry that we've
- 57:59Speaker 2: ever had. It's like, no, I'm gonna do my slam dance.
- 58:02Speaker 2: It's like, no, we're gonna sign a petition. It's just
- 58:05Speaker 2: like everyone is just like they believe that they're very
- 58:09Speaker 2: much like they're kind of like softer or overly aggressive
- 58:15Speaker 2: or different things. Different ways of doing it is the
- 58:18Speaker 2: correct way of doing it. And so that's kind of
- 58:21Speaker 2: like the big issue of like a very leftist rebellion,
- 58:23Speaker 2: which is that like because it believes in like like
- 58:27Speaker 2: an overt level of progressivism. There's no order and if
- 58:31Speaker 2: you don't have a loofen in the room, it's just
- 58:33Speaker 2: like shut the fuck up, children, then this is what
- 58:36Speaker 2: you get. And they don't have one. And the most
- 58:39Speaker 2: capable person there, they've tied up and he's just waiting
- 58:42Speaker 2: for a moment to just get out of here. When
- 58:45Speaker 2: he is like getting back in a tie fighter, he
- 58:47Speaker 2: just shoots one.
- 58:52Speaker 1: It went back to Cassie and being Cassie and like,
- 58:55Speaker 1: you know, you know, he's like, I've assessed this situation.
- 58:59Speaker 1: None of you are built for this life. Yeah, very
- 59:03Speaker 1: soon either way. I'm just speeding up natural selection right here.
- 59:08Speaker 1: I love how the two bosses of the Idiots both
- 59:11Speaker 1: got eight and one bite. Like that was so like, like,
- 59:16Speaker 1: I won't say this about the second season. There's a
- 59:19Speaker 1: lot more humor than I remember from the first season,
- 59:22Speaker 1: even though there is like the darkness is all full
- 59:25Speaker 1: tilt at full It's been balanced well with like, you know,
- 59:30Speaker 1: these two idiots getting eight you know in one Gould
- 59:34Speaker 1: and then them shooting ineffectually at Cassie and as he
- 59:38Speaker 1: flies away and they're all sitting there like, oh, okay,
- 59:42Speaker 1: well what do we do now?
- 59:44Speaker 2: You get eight two? Like this, these three episodes were incredible,
- 59:49Speaker 2: Like if you think about them as like one full movie. Yeah,
- 59:52Speaker 2: everything that we just talked about happened within the span
- 59:54Speaker 2: of three hours, and that is crazy. That's crazy that
- 59:58Speaker 2: we got this much content. It's just a span of
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: three hours, and like it's all just like some of
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: the best stuff I've seen this year.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: It's it's so good, and it's like we had to
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: wait a year or whatever for another movie. You know,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: you would feel like it because it would be like
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: this was a great movie right here.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I would be good.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Like if this was the first part of a trilogy, like, wow,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I can't wait to see the rest of his trilogy,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: because Jesus they set it up in this one.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think there's much more to talk about.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I do want to give a quick shout out to
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: the unlimited power reference that they made when they talk
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: about how the Emperor is searching for unlimited power. Like, again,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: that was a little inside joke. You know if people
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: who know when the Emperor is killing Ma's window, he screams,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I honestly did not know what the fuck he was
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: saying for years. I thought he was just And.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: That's about that. It's so good. It's such a good
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: running joke. The fact that people continue to talk about
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Powerpa Team like he's just a dude. Yeah, but he's
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: just a dude that gives out emails, yes and like,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: and that he will say something in an email like
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: unlimited power because he doesn't go on TV because he
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: looks like, you know, like several asss glued to And
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: so the fact that you get an email from a
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: dude that you don't know that says unlimited power and
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: he's like, that's the president.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I mean, it feels very you know, again, very relevant.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: But yeah, the fact that this dude was screaming about
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: unlimited power as he killed mas wind Do and he's
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: still searching for it after, you know, that's also the
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: funniest thing to be too, because it's like the Emperor
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: already has the unlimited power, and yet he's still like
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: I need more.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: So that's about it for our recap review of the
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: first three episodes Van do Or. We will definitely be
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: back to talk more about everything with this show. Like
