- 0:00Speaker 1: The following content does not reflect the opinions of Fox
- 0:03Speaker 1: Sports Radio.
- 0:04Speaker 2: In fact, it's our lawyer's worst nightmare.
- 0:10Speaker 3: All right, I'm in Toyo from Philly.
- 0:15Speaker 4: It's the number one rated Polly in Tony foolsc show, y'all.
- 0:20Speaker 4: As always, Polly Fools go here with Tony Fools, y'all. Now,
- 0:24Speaker 4: if you're paying attention at home wherever you're listening to
- 0:27Speaker 4: this watching it, you may have noticed we didn't say
- 0:31Speaker 4: the show was live, because in fact we are recording
- 0:35Speaker 4: this on Wednesday.
- 0:37Speaker 3: It's what we call in the business a brief dape,
- 0:40Speaker 3: isn't that right, Tony?
- 0:42Speaker 5: Yup, absolutely, and just so none of you get confused
- 0:46Speaker 5: out there. You may see and hear us talking now,
- 0:50Speaker 5: but in fact this was all recorded. So as you're
- 0:54Speaker 5: watching me, Tony, it may seem like I'm live talking
- 0:58Speaker 5: to you, but in fact I'm probably in bed, sleeping
- 1:02Speaker 5: or you know, just hanging out or something.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yep. See, that's what we do.
- 1:05Speaker 3: We educate on this show, you know, and we're doing this,
- 1:09Speaker 3: we'll tell you because we're going to the Sixers playing
- 1:12Speaker 3: game tonight. Got front row seats in the balcony, and
- 1:16Speaker 3: you know, we just wanted to enjoy and celebrate this
- 1:19Speaker 3: guaranteed Sixers win. You know, so that's probably what we're
- 1:22Speaker 3: doing right now as you're watching this, you know.
- 1:25Speaker 5: And once again, by now, we don't mean now as
- 1:29Speaker 5: in now now, but now as in before you understand,
- 1:34Speaker 5: of course they do.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Tony so Well said, anyway, joining us today. You know,
- 1:39Speaker 3: some would call him the voice of Philly basketball after us,
- 1:43Speaker 3: of course, far after US way downs. But yeah, you
- 1:46Speaker 3: know him did play by play for the Sixers for
- 1:49Speaker 3: twenty seven years, but never as once.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Come on this show, Tony, Yeah, I mean.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Look, he's probably intimidated by our basketball knowledge.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Anyway, Mark Zuomoff will be joining us, and hey, just
- 2:01Speaker 3: before we get to our top story, you know, one
- 2:03Speaker 3: quick show note. You know a lot of people they're
- 2:06Speaker 3: angry at us because last week we told them not
- 2:09Speaker 3: the bet on Scotty Sheffler last week, you know, to
- 2:11Speaker 3: win the Masters, And baby, there's a reason we did that.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We're trying to make your money.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Exactly, bet Chefler, what were you gonna make t three bucks?
- 2:21Speaker 2: You people need to learn how to gamble.
- 2:23Speaker 5: If you knew anything about betting, you'd know the sure
- 2:26Speaker 5: bet is actually the worst bet you can make.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Such terrific advice that, Tony, and we got more of
- 2:33Speaker 3: that great advice coming later in the show.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Just listen for that sounder.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah, when you hear that, you know Tony's coming with
- 2:41Speaker 3: his bet of the week. But in making the money,
- 2:43Speaker 3: it's time to get into our top story story, all right.
- 2:48Speaker 3: That top story is the six is making the playoffs. Yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 3: we're recording this on Wednesday before the game. But come on,
- 2:56Speaker 3: that's a shitty bet as you can get, isn't it, Tony?
- 2:59Speaker 5: Yep, which also makes it a bad bet, as we
- 3:02Speaker 5: just explained, Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Exactly, not gonna make you any money anyway.
- 3:05Speaker 3: No, we got a bigger problem with this whole play
- 3:08Speaker 3: in tournament.
- 3:09Speaker 2: You know, it's so terrible that a.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Team like the Sixers that finishes as a solid seven
- 3:14Speaker 3: seed doesn't get an automatic bid into the playoffs.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Ridiculous, Dony, It's terrible.
- 3:20Speaker 5: They're ruining the proud tradition of Eastern Conference basketball teams
- 3:25Speaker 5: making the playoffs despite having a garbage losing record. Think
- 3:29Speaker 5: of those proud Charlotte Hornets teams who made the playoffs
- 3:32Speaker 5: despite being twelve games under five hundred and barely being
- 3:35Speaker 5: the functioning franchise. It was so great that the NBA
- 3:39Speaker 5: gave those franchises hope of winning a title at least,
- 3:43Speaker 5: you know, for a couple of days before they got
- 3:45Speaker 5: destroyed and humiliated by a top seed. But you know,
- 3:48Speaker 5: not letting them into the playoffs now is a bigger
- 3:51Speaker 5: slap in the face.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Couldn't agree more, Dony, and now do another strange and
- 3:56Speaker 3: disheartening situation out of the NBA.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Bill Simmons many people consider to.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Be the greatest basketball writer of our time, and by
- 4:04Speaker 3: people I mean total nerds. He somehow decided to leave
- 4:08Speaker 3: Tyrese Maxi off his most improved players list, even though
- 4:12Speaker 3: the six is star increased his scoring by nearly fifty
- 4:15Speaker 3: percent this season, and said Simmons, top three was one
- 4:20Speaker 3: Kobe White to Denny Avdija, and three Isaiah Hartenstein.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Tony, your thoughts, I've never heard of any of those people.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Me neither. I don't even know if those actually are
- 4:35Speaker 2: NBA players. Yeah, anyway, let's just keep going away, moving on.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Staying in the NBA, though shocking news the retirement of
- 4:43Speaker 3: one of the all time great big men, Blake Griffin,
- 4:47Speaker 3: and you know, many of his attractors. They're saying that
- 4:50Speaker 3: his career didn't live up the expectations.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Are you wanting me? What are they talking about? You
- 4:55Speaker 2: know when you look at Blake.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Griffin's story career that you clearly see that's not the case.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Isn't that right, Tony?
- 5:01Speaker 5: Absolutely, Blake Griffin did everything an NBA player could ever
- 5:06Speaker 5: hope to do.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Just look at this checklist. Pull it up.
- 5:09Speaker 5: He was a number one overall pick yep, he won
- 5:13Speaker 5: Rookie of the Year. He won a championship, a slam
- 5:17Speaker 5: Dunk championship, but that still counts.
- 5:19Speaker 2: He counts yup. He jumped over a car yep.
- 5:23Speaker 5: And he completed the list by dating a Kardashian, you know,
- 5:28Speaker 5: Kendall Jenna, but that still counts, still counts.
- 5:30Speaker 3: In fact, might be the hottest of all the jennikab
- 5:33Speaker 3: Absolutely just a career that players should aspire to.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Absolutely couldn't agree more well.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Moving to a big controversy out of baseball, fans are
- 5:45Speaker 3: in a total uproar over home plate umpire Angel Hernandez,
- 5:49Speaker 3: who is under intense scrutiny for making calls that are
- 5:52Speaker 3: clearly bad when you see them on Twitter six hours
- 5:55Speaker 3: later and Tony. You know, people they're getting pretty crazy
- 5:58Speaker 3: as some people. It's crazy, you know. They're saying, now,
- 6:01Speaker 3: this is a reason to take all the umps and
- 6:04Speaker 3: replace them with robots.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And that's just that's too far, is it.
- 6:08Speaker 5: It's lunacy. You want robot umpires. So what you're saying
- 6:13Speaker 5: is you want to replace American.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Jobs with AI. Shame on you, on you.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I don't mean to stand on my
- 6:21Speaker 5: soap tray here, but if we have robot umpires in baseball,
- 6:26Speaker 5: then what's next? Are we going to replace tennis judges
- 6:29Speaker 5: with some radar that tells you whether balls were in
- 6:32Speaker 5: or out? Are we gonna replace horse race judges with
- 6:35Speaker 5: some kind of camera that takes a photo right as
- 6:38Speaker 5: the horses cross the finish line? I mean, when does
- 6:41Speaker 5: it end? It's a very slippery slope.
- 6:44Speaker 3: There's great points and examples, Tony. And you know what
- 6:46Speaker 3: I've always wondered, what's that? What if you had a
- 6:49Speaker 3: robot behind home plate? Yeah, and then you had a
- 6:52Speaker 3: pitcher who decides to argue the call, Well, what's to
- 6:55Speaker 3: stop the robot from, you know, just killing the picture
- 6:57Speaker 3: with his laser eye?
- 6:59Speaker 2: Great question.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I mean, we've all seen that famous Sylvester Stallone movie,
- 7:03Speaker 5: of course, I'm talking about Judge dread. It showed what
- 7:07Speaker 5: happened if we let robots enforced laws. Basically, this could
- 7:12Speaker 5: end human civilization as we know.
- 7:14Speaker 3: It just so startling when you put it in perspective
- 7:17Speaker 3: like that, Tony and Well, it leads to other baseball
- 7:20Speaker 3: news that we have to address. Red Sox pitcher Kenley Jansen.
- 7:24Speaker 3: He's complaining because he says the new generation of baseballs
- 7:29Speaker 3: are not as good as the older.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Generation of baseballs.
- 7:32Speaker 3: He's saying they're of a lower quality and not as
- 7:35Speaker 3: well shaped. And Tony, you've done some investigating it. Tell
- 7:38Speaker 3: the people what you found.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I've used my own hands to study
- 7:43Speaker 5: both balls, and I can tell you the old generations
- 7:46Speaker 5: balls are much more tough and leathery. They also hang
- 7:51Speaker 5: a little lower in the air. They're just tough old balls.
- 7:55Speaker 5: But these new balls they're very soft and delicate and tinier.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Not the ones I felt in Philly or even Pittsburgh.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Those were much sturdier balls. But the balls I felt
- 8:06Speaker 5: in Boston and New York were especially tiny and soft.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Just terrific investigative analysis that Tony and Well now do
- 8:16Speaker 3: a new segment on the show.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You know, people, they keep coming up to us and.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Saying, we don't know anything about the WNBA women's basketball What. Yeah, exactly, kidden.
- 8:26Speaker 3: You know we've proven yeah, time and time again, we.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Know it done.
- 8:29Speaker 3: In fact, we're gonna dunk on you people because well,
- 8:32Speaker 3: how you know that sponsors out there they're so impressed
- 8:35Speaker 3: with our women's basketball coverage that they wanted to sponsor
- 8:39Speaker 3: this segment right here, right now. So as part of
- 8:42Speaker 3: our new contract with our newer sponsor, we now bring
- 8:46Speaker 3: you five minutes of uninterrupted women's basketball coverage sponsored by
- 8:51Speaker 3: Summer's Eve, the number one douche in the business. Okay,
- 8:54Speaker 3: tony five minutes on the clock. Let's get into it.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Wow, so much to react to and today discuss. You know,
- 9:01Speaker 5: this Caitlin Clark story is so great because people are
- 9:05Speaker 5: learning about women's basketball. Like when she got drafted number
- 9:09Speaker 5: one to the Indiana Fever. You know a lot of
- 9:12Speaker 5: people didn't know there was a WNBA team in Indiana,
- 9:16Speaker 5: or that the WNBA even had a draft, or that
- 9:20Speaker 5: the W and WNBA stood for women and not for wacky.
- 9:25Speaker 5: But now they know. And it's so great because Caitlin
- 9:29Speaker 5: Clark follows in line of many great WNBA players, unforgettable
- 9:36Speaker 5: names like Lisa Loebe and Reggie Miller's sister. How am
- 9:42Speaker 5: I doing on time?
- 9:44Speaker 6: Oh?
- 9:44Speaker 3: You still got over four minutes left counting down there?
- 9:47Speaker 5: Okay, that's perfect because I have so much more to
- 9:50Speaker 5: say about women's basketball. You know, there's so much history
- 9:54Speaker 5: in Caitlin Clark going to Indiana. Indiana has such a
- 9:58Speaker 5: rich history of women it's basketball, but also men's basketball,
- 10:03Speaker 5: men like Larry Bird and Reggie Miller and you know
- 10:07Speaker 5: the movie Hoosias that took place in Indiana. And of
- 10:12Speaker 5: course you can't forget about Bobby Knight, who sadly left
- 10:16Speaker 5: us last year.
- 10:18Speaker 2: How are we doing on time? No, you know, still
- 10:20Speaker 2: got more than three minutes left.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Keep going terrific because you know, talking about Indiana and
- 10:27Speaker 5: number one picks, it also calls to mind other legendary
- 10:31Speaker 5: athletes who are picked number one overall, people like Peyton
- 10:35Speaker 5: Manning who was drafted by the Colts yep, and Andrew.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Luck who was also drafted by the Colts.
- 10:41Speaker 5: And you know, John Elway was also drafted number one
- 10:45Speaker 5: by the Colts and then went to the Broncos. So
- 10:48Speaker 5: you know, there's just so much history there with number
- 10:51Speaker 5: one picks in Indiana. How am I doing on time?
- 10:54Speaker 2: Now? Oh? You know, still got well over three minutes,
- 10:57Speaker 2: don't he going? Great? Okay? Great?
- 11:00Speaker 5: And you know people are criticized in the WNBA because
- 11:04Speaker 5: it was revealed that Caitlin Clark is only going to
- 11:07Speaker 5: be making about seventy or eighty thousand dollars a year.
- 11:10Speaker 5: But people need to remember just because you've heard of
- 11:14Speaker 5: a company, that doesn't mean that company makes any money.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I mean, look at we work, they don't make money.
- 11:21Speaker 5: And look at the US government we owe money. Does
- 11:25Speaker 5: that mean government employees should be paid more?
- 11:28Speaker 2: I mean when you think about it.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Sorry, we going interrupt this segment by dah you know
- 11:36Speaker 3: what that means.
- 11:37Speaker 2: It's time for Fusco Bet.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Get your Fusco bet app open because it's Tony as
- 11:43Speaker 3: we go Although week, Tony, what you got?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Okay, let's go.
- 11:47Speaker 5: It's NBA playoff time and this is my luck bet
- 11:51Speaker 5: of the week. You know, many people think I get
- 11:54Speaker 5: these smart bets on my own, but I do sometimes
- 11:57Speaker 5: lean on trusted sources, and today's bet comes straight from
- 12:02Speaker 5: a very trusted source and good friend former Toronto Raptor
- 12:06Speaker 5: and now banned NBA player John Tay Porter. John Tay
- 12:10Speaker 5: told me to take me under in all the Nuggets games. Now,
- 12:14Speaker 5: I don't know why he'd have this information, but I
- 12:17Speaker 5: do know that the last twenty four bets I made
- 12:20Speaker 5: using his expert knowledge have paid off handsomely.
- 12:24Speaker 2: So that's why it's my luck bet of the Week.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Boom yee.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Download the Fusco bet app now and make yourself some money.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Note that winners may face jail time and can be
- 12:37Speaker 3: prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Fusco Bet
- 12:40Speaker 3: is not responsible for any legal action taken against users.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Gambling problem called one nine hundred and four John Day
- 12:46Speaker 3: to get the latest inside knowledge and increase your chances
- 12:48Speaker 3: of winning by five hundred percent Fusco bet.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Okay, well look at that Tony.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Look who's finally decided to show his face around the
- 12:57Speaker 3: Erah guest today. So let's get him on the Fusco
- 13:01Speaker 3: Satellite Network Satellite. Oh well, he's finally decided to come
- 13:08Speaker 3: on this show. YEA took him long enough, ye you know,
- 13:12Speaker 3: scared all right again. You know many people they call
- 13:15Speaker 3: him the voice of Philly basketball, but you know that's
- 13:18Speaker 3: only after they talk about his glowing leaf at two
- 13:20Speaker 3: or three minutes and they get to him now as
- 13:23Speaker 3: a podcast Fresh twenty four with Mark zoom Off, where
- 13:26Speaker 3: it says on the sheet here he goes one on
- 13:28Speaker 3: one with those who played, coached or sat on the hardwood.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I hope this is a basketball podcast and not, you know.
- 13:37Speaker 3: All right, anyway, let's just move on there, all right,
- 13:40Speaker 3: Mark zoom Off, Welcome to the show.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Finally, welcome to the show. Listen.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It was either do this or rotate my sock drawer.
- 13:48Speaker 1: So I'm here and I'm ready.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Brothers. Oh well, don't worry. We'll sock you. Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Yeah, looking at this twenty seven years to think of
- 13:56Speaker 3: an open and that's what you came up with.
- 13:57Speaker 2: You're off with a bang. Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Well look look, look we know maybe you know, we're
- 14:03Speaker 3: gonna educate you about the business right now, Mark, all right,
- 14:06Speaker 3: you know this it's Wednesday, Okay, the Sixers game is
- 14:09Speaker 3: late today. So this is what we call them, the
- 14:12Speaker 3: business a pre tape, right, which means we are not live,
- 14:16Speaker 3: right okay, So Tony just explained so he knows, and just.
- 14:20Speaker 5: So we clear Mark, it may seem like we are
- 14:23Speaker 5: live on the air right now, but we're not. And
- 14:26Speaker 5: while I'm talking to you now, the viewers and listeners
- 14:30Speaker 5: aren't hearing you now. I mean they're hearing you now
- 14:33Speaker 5: as like now in the show, but not now now
- 14:36Speaker 5: in real life.
- 14:37Speaker 2: You follow you see that?
- 14:40Speaker 1: I think so.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I think he's a little confused, Tony.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Okay, you know he's not as much of a broadcast
- 14:46Speaker 3: professional as we are used to doing only live.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Okay, but we'll lead you here. Okay, So now we
- 14:51Speaker 2: got that out of the way, Mark all right.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Now that the Sixers are in the playoffs because they've
- 14:57Speaker 3: beaten the heat, yeah, crushed them.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'm not playing the game. You're laughing? What do you
- 15:04Speaker 2: what are you laughing for?
- 15:05Speaker 6: You?
- 15:05Speaker 1: No, go ahead, I'm with you, all right.
- 15:08Speaker 2: What's your prediction now that they're in the playoffs for
- 15:10Speaker 2: the six.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think they're going to go to the conference finals.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's just a feel that I have. I'm not a soothsayer.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I don't have a crystal ball anymore. I got rid
- 15:18Speaker 1: of that when I retired. But I just have a feel.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's I think the urgency for Joel Embiid he's hit thirty.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I think that he's hold.
- 15:27Speaker 2: On, you said, get to the conference finals and then what.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Well, you know what then is the Boston Celtics. And
- 15:33Speaker 1: I'm not ready to say that they have enough to
- 15:35Speaker 1: beat the Boston Celtics. But listen, every Sixer fans, the
- 15:38Speaker 1: team that feeds.
- 15:39Speaker 3: You for years, you turn on them the moment my hand,
- 15:44Speaker 3: bro explain yourself, Bro only.
- 15:47Speaker 1: That the Celtics are so good, and I fully expected
- 15:50Speaker 1: that would be the team that they would meet in
- 15:51Speaker 1: the conference finals. And I'm not ready to say they're
- 15:53Speaker 1: going to beat them, too, but I am ready to
- 15:56Speaker 1: say that I think that they're at least the second
- 15:58Speaker 1: best team in the NBA's Eastern Conference. That's just what
- 16:01Speaker 1: I think, and it's just a feel thing. I don't
- 16:02Speaker 1: have any signs to back it up, and.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I'll give you science. Hold on, you know the Celtics.
- 16:07Speaker 3: The Celtics finished the season fourteen games ahead of the
- 16:11Speaker 3: second place Nicks.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Don't you think that was a mistake, clearly by Boston
- 16:16Speaker 3: to exhaust themselves winning all those games before the playoffs
- 16:20Speaker 3: peak too soon?
- 16:21Speaker 1: You know what, I would imagine they're so good. They
- 16:24Speaker 1: did it sometimes with one hand tie behind their back,
- 16:26Speaker 1: so I'm sure they were mindful of the playoffs. Listen
- 16:29Speaker 1: this day and age, everybody is mindful about the playoffs.
- 16:32Speaker 1: That's why they call it load management. They're managing their
- 16:36Speaker 1: load and getting ready for the postseason.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Hopefully we're on a basketball podcast. Still I want to
- 16:41Speaker 2: say that, Yeah, we get talking exactly, this is it.
- 16:43Speaker 2: We're talking basket. This is the way you said that.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Maybe right right, Moving on anyway, but let's talk about
- 16:48Speaker 3: Joe lmb right. You know, really masterful smart performance by
- 16:52Speaker 3: him this year, right, you know, he got injured at
- 16:55Speaker 3: just the right time, right early February, late January, then
- 16:59Speaker 3: came back and now they're on this win streak. Do
- 17:01Speaker 3: you think maybe next year he should get injured and
- 17:03Speaker 3: you know, maybe November or October, so he's even more
- 17:07Speaker 3: arrested for the playoffs.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Unfortunately, this has been his history, not even playing you know,
- 17:15Speaker 1: close to seventy games, which would be I think a
- 17:17Speaker 1: career high for him. But this is who he is.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And in fact, they even said to somebody the other
- 17:23Speaker 1: day with some knowledge unlike you, what can he do
- 17:26Speaker 1: to preserve himself and you know, maybe keep himself from
- 17:30Speaker 1: getting injured? In the answer from this guy who pretty
- 17:33Speaker 1: much knows. What he's talking about is that Joel's going
- 17:35Speaker 1: to play like Joel needs to play to compete. That's
- 17:38Speaker 1: just who he is, and any injuries that result from it,
- 17:41Speaker 1: we're just going to have to accept that's who he
- 17:43Speaker 1: is as a player.
- 17:45Speaker 3: You know, this is why I can see now why
- 17:47Speaker 3: they kept you employed for so long. That was decent
- 17:50Speaker 3: analysis there. You understand you unguided them. We can find
- 17:55Speaker 3: some common ground. You're right, Joel's very good at knowing
- 17:59Speaker 3: when to get in here.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That just is very bally what your source just said.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Okay, anyway, let's let's move on there. You know you're
- 18:06Speaker 3: also familiar with uh, Doc Rivers, all right? You know
- 18:09Speaker 3: you add back and forth with them. You know the
- 18:11Speaker 3: Bucks they just totally suck now that Doc Rivers is
- 18:15Speaker 3: their coach.
- 18:15Speaker 2: You would always call him Glenn Rivers, not Doc.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Was that your way of trying to tell people that
- 18:22Speaker 3: he was not licensed to coach basketball?
- 18:26Speaker 5: Uh?
- 18:26Speaker 1: Not not in the least. It was more of my
- 18:29Speaker 1: homage to the one and only doctor who will ever
- 18:33Speaker 1: be involved in the NBA to do something related to
- 18:37Speaker 1: the Philadelphia seventy six ers. That would be the great
- 18:39Speaker 1: Julia Survey. That's all that was and nothing else.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Doctor j R. J Way to get school, Doctor j
- 18:47Speaker 2: be coaching the Sixers?
- 18:48Speaker 1: Now, I mean, you know what, I think he has
- 18:51Speaker 1: this much interest in coaching the sixers at this point.
- 18:54Speaker 1: He's in the seventies.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Now, Okay, just throwing it out there. You don't have
- 18:58Speaker 2: to be so rude about Yeah, you never know that,
- 19:00Speaker 2: you never know? Yeah, yeah, but I don't think so.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I highly doubt it.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Well, all right, in your basketball knowledge okay, which we
- 19:07Speaker 3: know is limited. Okay, hold on, by the way, talking
- 19:09Speaker 3: about limited knowledge, do you see what Bill Simmons just
- 19:13Speaker 3: did you know? He came out with this list of
- 19:16Speaker 3: top three most improved players and six is dot Tyrese
- 19:20Speaker 3: Maxi not on it. The names he out on this
- 19:23Speaker 3: list were Kobe White, Denny Avdijah, and Isaiah Hartenstein. So
- 19:29Speaker 3: that leads to this question, have you heard of any
- 19:31Speaker 3: of these people?
- 19:33Speaker 1: Well, first of all, it's Odia, second of all it's
- 19:36Speaker 1: Heart and Stein, and third of all, you're giving Bill
- 19:40Speaker 1: Simmons way too much credence. Who cares?
- 19:43Speaker 3: While we're on pronunciations, it's Asha Hole. Tell me how
- 19:50Speaker 3: to pronounce names. Yeah, come on the show, I'll pronounce
- 19:54Speaker 3: you show you talk like that, all right, keep talking?
- 19:56Speaker 2: What were you saying before you?
- 20:00Speaker 1: I don't really care what Bill Simmons says. Sometimes people
- 20:04Speaker 1: do things for shock value. Listen, in this day and age,
- 20:07Speaker 1: who knows what's going to come out of anybody's mouth
- 20:09Speaker 1: or be on or off of anybody's list, just so
- 20:13Speaker 1: they can create a little buzz and people will notice them.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Because listen, you guys are a testament. Anybody can have
- 20:20Speaker 1: a podcast.
- 20:21Speaker 2: No, I know, I know what's going to come out
- 20:23Speaker 2: of your mouth, next load of crap? Taking a little
- 20:26Speaker 2: shot here.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Look, okay, okay, you know we got a few things
- 20:29Speaker 3: we need to settle with you, because you know you
- 20:32Speaker 3: play by playwork during the year was you know, Okay,
- 20:34Speaker 3: it was possible, I guess you know, but you did
- 20:37Speaker 3: have a few sayings that were a little odd.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 20:40Speaker 3: So can we just review those now and maybe you
- 20:42Speaker 3: can explain them.
- 20:43Speaker 2: To us what they meant? Be my guest.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Okay, first, you're fine. I can already tell you a
- 20:49Speaker 3: little touchy about this. You don't like feedback.
- 20:51Speaker 2: This is called constructive criticism. You could have used this
- 20:54Speaker 2: during your career, all right.
- 20:56Speaker 3: You know when a player made a two point that
- 20:58Speaker 3: changed the momentum of the game.
- 21:00Speaker 1: What would you call that, Well, I would say a
- 21:04Speaker 1: big deuce or something like that.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Timely timely drops.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Using the phrase timely deuce kind of made viewers maybe
- 21:15Speaker 3: uncomfortable and also disgusted.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what. I would see some of that
- 21:19Speaker 1: on Twitter, and I would just think, don't people have
- 21:22Speaker 1: anything better to do than to think that? I actually
- 21:25Speaker 1: would mean that, but you know what, I don't let
- 21:28Speaker 1: them have a good time at my expense.
- 21:29Speaker 2: I mean, you don't know.
- 21:32Speaker 5: I don't want to get personal here, but it does
- 21:35Speaker 5: beg the question have you ever had an untimely deuce?
- 21:39Speaker 5: Because you know, I was stuck in the I ninety
- 21:41Speaker 5: five traffic one time and it was terrible untimely deuce.
- 21:45Speaker 1: You know, during the game, I try to time my deuces,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like ten thirty in the morning,
- 21:52Speaker 1: after I've had my coffee. Boom.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Now we're getting news here. Now we're making headway too much. Look,
- 21:58Speaker 2: here's another one.
- 21:59Speaker 3: You used to say when a shorter player would go
- 22:02Speaker 3: under the basket, you would say he was quote amongst
- 22:06Speaker 3: the trees. Don't you think that's offensive in this day
- 22:09Speaker 3: and age and frankly highest to call a big person
- 22:13Speaker 3: a tree.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Listen. A lot of this stuff I just picked up
- 22:19Speaker 1: when I would listen to basketball players talking among themselves,
- 22:23Speaker 1: or coaches among themselves, or you know, out of practice
- 22:26Speaker 1: and hey, careful, you're gonna be playing among the trees.
- 22:29Speaker 1: That kind of thing. So that's where some of that
- 22:31Speaker 1: stuff is.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Can't take accountability. See, that's the problem. This is what
- 22:35Speaker 3: you know, you didn't improve through the years. You had
- 22:37Speaker 3: trouble taking feedback. Okay, here's another one for you. Sometimes
- 22:41Speaker 3: when a player would make a big shot, you would say, yes,
- 22:46Speaker 3: don't you feel bad about stealing that from Marv Albot?
- 22:50Speaker 2: Not at all, Not at all.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's a word. It's a word, but everybody can use
- 22:57Speaker 1: in your life. You know what. I was good with
- 23:01Speaker 1: it as far as I know. Marv does not have
- 23:03Speaker 1: a copyright on Yes.
- 23:06Speaker 5: No, but you could have been like bingo, bingo, there
- 23:12Speaker 5: go right, bringo. Yeah, you could have been like the
- 23:15Speaker 5: bingal Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Right, Like my friends say, no, good idea should go
- 23:20Speaker 1: on stolen and I stole yes and no.
- 23:23Speaker 3: See, we got to see any This is called investigative journalism.
- 23:27Speaker 6: We do.
- 23:27Speaker 3: You'll see this on the front page of Philly dot
- 23:30Speaker 3: right here, there's another one for you. This one I
- 23:32Speaker 3: never understood when a player shot a three point on
- 23:36Speaker 3: sometimes you'd say, thinking three, How the hell did you
- 23:40Speaker 3: know what the player was thinking?
- 23:43Speaker 1: Because he was beyond the arc and he you know,
- 23:46Speaker 1: he kind of looks like he's getting ready to, as
- 23:48Speaker 1: they say, put it in the shooting pocket and begin
- 23:51Speaker 1: the shooting motion. Might not because he was situated by
- 23:54Speaker 1: a defender. So I'm saying he's thinking three. It's an alliteration.
- 24:00Speaker 1: What it's an alliteration?
- 24:02Speaker 5: What?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yes?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Saying we can't ready again? And look it up.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I'll wait here, I'll look up your home address. Pro
- 24:13Speaker 2: see you later.
- 24:14Speaker 3: You know, I forgot to mention this in this bio
- 24:17Speaker 3: you've got. But you run a broadcast school where apparently
- 24:19Speaker 3: you teach people.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It's called Zoom Off Productions.
- 24:22Speaker 3: You'll apparently teach people how to be in broadcasting. What's
- 24:26Speaker 3: what's the first What is the first piece of advice
- 24:30Speaker 3: you'll give people at this so called broadcasting school?
- 24:33Speaker 1: You do do not be like the Fusco Show.
- 24:37Speaker 2: You can't even pronounce words. It's full full look at this. Yeah,
- 24:45Speaker 2: I'll give you some broadcasting lessons.
- 24:47Speaker 3: You can't want to show you to say those name
- 24:50Speaker 3: or guess what zoom zoom.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Zoos show show?
- 25:05Speaker 6: Guess this show.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Closed the zoo?
- 25:10Speaker 5: Is he off the line?
- 25:11Speaker 2: Jay?
- 25:11Speaker 5: Hang up the final that was twenty seven years in
- 25:13Speaker 5: the making and totally not worth it in the slightest Yeah,
- 25:17Speaker 5: mark zoom off. Mark him on the not welcome back list, great.
- 25:22Speaker 2: One, Tony.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Anyway, We're not gonna let him ruin, which was otherwise
- 25:26Speaker 3: a terrific show.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Of course, we want to remind you download the Fusco
- 25:30Speaker 2: bad make your money. Wait, are you kidding me? If
- 25:35Speaker 2: it's someone I'd like to download to the bottom of
- 25:38Speaker 2: a river? Yeah, produce it? Jay, What do you want?
- 25:41Speaker 6: Corrections? What?
- 25:42Speaker 2: What? Hurry up? All right?
- 25:44Speaker 6: Well, you said, Tyres. Maxi's points per game went up
- 25:48Speaker 6: fifty percent from last season to this season.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, historic bro.
- 25:53Speaker 6: He went from twenty points per game to twenty six points.
- 25:57Speaker 6: So you divide six into twenty to get thirty percent.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well after the show, I'm going to divide
- 26:06Speaker 3: your legs from your torso yeah, and you also have
- 26:11Speaker 3: thirty percent of an adult penis.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Oh you got done. Let's get out of here. Shows over?
- 26:20Speaker 6: What go?
- 26:22Speaker 2: You said?
- 26:22Speaker 6: There was a w NBA player named Lisa Lobe.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, learn your basketball, bro.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Lisa Lobe is a singer. I believe you were thinking
- 26:32Speaker 6: of Lisa Leslie.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well, uh, I'm going to Lisa Carr and
- 26:37Speaker 2: run you over with it. Yeah. And I'm going to
- 26:40Speaker 2: Lobe a grenade into your apartment.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Oh wait then yeah no, let's get out of here
- 26:48Speaker 5: that it shows over Why.
- 26:51Speaker 6: You said someday that Tennis will be using technology to
- 26:54Speaker 6: judge whether calls are in or out?
- 26:57Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, totally yeah, bound to happen someday.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Bro, Yeah, it's a it's already happening. It's called Hawkeye.
- 27:04Speaker 6: They've been using it since two thousand and six. So
- 27:07Speaker 6: you clearly don't watch tennis.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well I just judged you out of days
- 27:13Speaker 2: to live. Yeah. And you know what hasn't been used ever?
