- 1:57Speaker 5: a limited time.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And participating McDonald's's on a Boy Dad podcasts. We are
- 2:01Speaker 3: here live from Colorado for I have made a massive
- 2:06Speaker 3: mistake Roan and I recorded an episode earlier this week,
- 2:09Speaker 3: and I forgot my laptop in New York and I'm
- 2:12Speaker 3: going into the woods tomorrow morning, so I'm here in Colorado.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's gonna be probably just a quick episode, probably thirty minutes,
- 2:20Speaker 3: maybe forty if we're lucky. We are joined today by
- 2:23Speaker 3: the by the infamous bow Hello. Hello, He's not gonna
- 2:31Speaker 3: talk much. He doesn't have much to say, so I'm
- 2:33Speaker 3: really gonna be steering the ship today pretty much. We're here.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Put the microphone up to your face, right.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Got it?
- 2:42Speaker 3: As soon as we start recording, it's gonna be you're
- 2:44Speaker 3: shutting down already.
- 2:46Speaker 4: No, I'm here. Here you go.
- 2:48Speaker 3: He gave me a list of topics we're not allowed
- 2:50Speaker 3: to speak of. Doesn't want to be embarrassed and.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Does it on.
- 2:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Well, I'm I'm just happy to be on the pod.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to looking forward to this being a
- 3:06Speaker 4: regular current.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You're finally making your big entrance into the content game,
- 3:12Speaker 3: which is something that you've wanted your entire life.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it really is, and I've just been waiting
- 3:18Speaker 4: for that big break. They say that success is when
- 3:24Speaker 4: opportunity meets preparation, and I feel like, here we are,
- 3:27Speaker 4: so yeah, I'm ready to do this.
- 3:29Speaker 3: I'm noticing you're cupping your hands around the microphone a lot,
- 3:32Speaker 3: which I'm gonna need you to not like, do exactly
- 3:34Speaker 3: what I'm doing. See how I'm old in it. Okay, Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 3: this could be an audio disaster. This could honestly never
- 3:39Speaker 3: even go out. If this goes out. It was a
- 3:41Speaker 3: full on miracle. We're recording this with two separate phones
- 3:44Speaker 3: pointed at our face using voice memo, and I'm gonna
- 3:47Speaker 3: work my beautiful editing magic and get this fixed. So
- 3:51Speaker 3: pretty much that's all I've got for now. But we're
- 3:55Speaker 3: here with bo Bo. We've talked about a lot on
- 3:58Speaker 3: the podcast before and uh, just a funny guy like
- 4:03Speaker 3: a clown.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I love to I love to tell jokes, love
- 4:09Speaker 4: to make people laugh.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Bro, this is coming off like this is like an
- 4:14Speaker 3: NPR interview.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I you know, I see, I've seen myself
- 4:18Speaker 4: as sort of a comedian just in real life, just
- 4:23Speaker 4: in real time on stage, funniest guy in the friend group,
- 4:29Speaker 4: which helps a lot.
- 4:32Speaker 3: What does that help with go into more detail about
- 4:34Speaker 3: what that helps.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Just with group group morale, I can always rile a
- 4:40Speaker 4: laugh out of the friends. Just always have a good
- 4:44Speaker 4: time even when things look bleak. On our trip this week,
- 4:48Speaker 4: I'm sure there were will be times when it's pouring
- 4:51Speaker 4: down rain and we're soaking wet, and uh, all we're
- 4:56Speaker 4: gonna have is our jokes. Pretty much.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, see, your phone is rubbing up against your which
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm not liking. Are you good? Are we doing well?
- 5:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah, you see him to do a Are you freezing up
- 5:07Speaker 3: a little bit?
- 5:07Speaker 5: No?
- 5:08Speaker 4: No, I feel good. I feel pretty comfortable. I've listened
- 5:12Speaker 4: to many podcasts, so excited to be on the other
- 5:16Speaker 4: side of it.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, this is gonna millions of people are gonna hear this.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Oh I'm sure. Yeah, I'm sure this will be your
- 5:22Speaker 4: one of your biggest episodes.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Probably it probably will. People people have been they've been clamoring,
- 5:29Speaker 3: scratching and clawing for the bow episode. Probably this is
- 5:32Speaker 3: probably not how they imagined it to go. They probably
- 5:35Speaker 3: imagined that we were going to be in studio recording
- 5:38Speaker 3: with some cameras and better audio. But instead, you know,
- 5:40Speaker 3: they're getting the full experience, just the just the uh,
- 5:45Speaker 3: just the phones and just raw conversation.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 3: So this has been a pretty solid introduction.
- 5:50Speaker 4: This is the deep the deep tracks here, just the.
- 5:54Speaker 3: If anything, this episode is going to show how much
- 5:56Speaker 3: Ron means to this podcast, because I can't got conversation
- 6:01Speaker 3: for my life. But let's get into some funny topics.
- 6:04Speaker 3: The debate. Let's talk politics. Yeah, I'd love to you
- 6:07Speaker 3: watch the debate. I watched about ten minutes, seven minutes.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yep, and then I switched to another channel on my TV,
- 6:17Speaker 4: a channel that just came on the television on its
- 6:20Speaker 4: own called Kitchen Nightmares, and that channel plays the show
- 6:27Speaker 4: Kitchen Nightmares NonStop twenty four to seven, and they really
- 6:32Speaker 4: do a good job. Very few commercials, mostly just Gordon
- 6:37Speaker 4: Ramsey and his Kitchen Nightmares show. And I watched that
- 6:41Speaker 4: show for about three hours after the ten minute debate viewing.
- 6:46Speaker 4: And that was great.
- 6:48Speaker 3: That sounds good, that sounds very fun. It sounds like
- 6:50Speaker 3: a good time. I've never watched Kitchen Nightmares. I did
- 6:54Speaker 3: watch the debate, though. I know a lot of people
- 6:57Speaker 3: have been asking to hear about my political views, so
- 6:59Speaker 3: let's get down to it. Ith not good, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 3: rough go for both, for both one more than the other.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Seems like you're kind of leaning towards one one direction.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Though.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Look I'm not rooting. I'm not a Trump guy, but
- 7:18Speaker 3: I think it was pretty apparent that Trump did a
- 7:20Speaker 3: lot better than Biden. Biden just looked like an old man,
- 7:24Speaker 3: and it was sad. I mean, it's not even it
- 7:26Speaker 3: wasn't really that funny. I think everyone tunes into those
- 7:28Speaker 3: debates and they're looking for like a good a good time,
- 7:31Speaker 3: like they want to laugh because everyone's expecting Trump to
- 7:33Speaker 3: go and then just really lay down, lay it down.
- 7:35Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, Trump, Uh, I
- 7:40Speaker 3: don't think he really needed to because Biden was kind
- 7:42Speaker 3: of just he was burying himself. What do you think
- 7:45Speaker 3: about that?
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yeah, our friend Peters and I were discussing earlier. Sun
- 7:51Speaker 4: Zoo once rode in the Art of War, do not
- 7:55Speaker 4: interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Very true. I've never thought about it like that.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Trump have read that passage prior to the debate because
- 8:04Speaker 4: he did not interrupt his opponent while he was making
- 8:08Speaker 4: those many mistakes.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Did you watch any of the videos of Trump going
- 8:13Speaker 3: into his like green room after the debate ended, and
- 8:16Speaker 3: it's just him and he walks in smiling, and he
- 8:18Speaker 3: just gives the thumbs up and there's like a million
- 8:20Speaker 3: people on his staff clapping.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah. I bet he had a good night. I bet
- 8:24Speaker 4: they party. Yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I don't know if he's much of a party or though.
- 8:27Speaker 3: They say that he doesn't do any drugs or drink
- 8:29Speaker 3: at all, but I think he did. No, maybe he
- 8:32Speaker 3: just doesn't drink because everyone says that he I remember
- 8:34Speaker 3: I heard a while ago that he used to just
- 8:36Speaker 3: do lines of sudafed.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Yeah. I feel like the people that are on his
- 8:42Speaker 4: level that don't drink or do drugs party in much
- 8:47Speaker 4: weirder ways.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's when you get into the real freak shit.
- 8:49Speaker 3: That's when it's never good to have a guy. If
- 8:53Speaker 3: you're like a guy who parties a lot but you're sober,
- 8:56Speaker 3: it usually means that you also do sex crimes.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yeah, you're involved in some some groups and circles.
- 9:05Speaker 3: It's like when you have to go to like sex shows,
- 9:08Speaker 3: like you don't you can't. Strip clubs don't do it
- 9:10Speaker 3: for you anymore. You got to go to this ship
- 9:11Speaker 3: where it's like spiders are crawling out of vaginas and stuff.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Like. You could probably make a true detective season about
- 9:20Speaker 4: what those kind of people do.
- 9:22Speaker 3: That's like David Dobrick. David Dobrick was like the party guy,
- 9:26Speaker 3: but then everyone found out that he was sober and
- 9:28Speaker 3: he was just feeding alcohol to like children and being like.
- 9:32Speaker 6: Let's all get fucked up.
- 9:34Speaker 3: That's like, you're having a party tonight.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Yeah we are, we're having a party.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Well, we don't have You didn't need to respond to that.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I was just stating that you're having a party, but
- 9:41Speaker 3: you're having a party. You're having a party the night
- 9:44Speaker 3: and I'm gonna be sober and it's gonna be Uh.
- 9:48Speaker 3: That would be like if I was there and I
- 9:49Speaker 3: was like going around people being like you you need
- 9:52Speaker 3: to know, shot, that's what you need to know, Like
- 9:55Speaker 3: just trying to get everyone super fucked up, so that
- 9:57Speaker 3: I was like the just the puppet. I was like
- 9:59Speaker 3: the I was the master behind the puppets. Yeah, controlling everybody.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I kind of figured that's what you were gonna do.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Now, that's not really my vibe. I'll probably sit in
- 10:08Speaker 3: the corner next to Peter's and just be like this
- 10:12Speaker 3: this sucks.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Well, the worst part about is that we're sleeping on
- 10:19Speaker 3: your couch and uh, and then there's gonna be people
- 10:22Speaker 3: here and we're leaving early in the morning, so uh,
- 10:25Speaker 3: I guess we're gonna just I'm gonna have to just
- 10:28Speaker 3: hop into my sleeping bag. I'm gonna have to hop
- 10:31Speaker 3: into my sleeping back while there's people in the kitchen
- 10:33Speaker 3: like drinking.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Yeah, and you definitely have a handicap on you because
- 10:38Speaker 4: you're not gonna be drinking. So it's gonna be a
- 10:41Speaker 4: lot harder for you to fall asleep.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Now, I should really maybe I'll just take some melotone
- 10:46Speaker 3: in or something. Except when you take melotone in then
- 10:49Speaker 3: you can't sleep. That's when shit gets real dark. That's
- 10:52Speaker 3: when you're like, I guess it's just not possible for me.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I tried my best, but I guess I just don't
- 10:57Speaker 3: have it in my bag.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'll just let let this out Just for
- 11:01Speaker 4: the record, I did offer Harry. He I said he
- 11:06Speaker 4: could sleep in my bed with me completely heterosexually, there's
- 11:12Speaker 4: two dudes sharing a bed. But I guess that was
- 11:17Speaker 4: a little too weird for him.
- 11:18Speaker 3: So, yeah, it's notdly my style. I'm like, I would
- 11:20Speaker 3: do it if we slept like die, if we slept
- 11:23Speaker 3: like sideways. Yeah, but you don't do that. That's not
- 11:27Speaker 3: your thing. You want to.
- 11:28Speaker 4: I think that would be weird.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I think that would be much better, or at least
- 11:31Speaker 3: if we set up the barrier, yeah, the barrier of pillows,
- 11:35Speaker 3: because I don't I know, it's not like like I'm
- 11:38Speaker 3: not a gay man, and I don't think you are either,
- 11:41Speaker 3: So it's not like we're going to sleep in the
- 11:42Speaker 3: same bed and all summer's gonna start fucking this shit
- 11:45Speaker 3: out of each other. It's not like it's been twenty
- 11:49Speaker 3: three years of tension building up to that moment. But
- 11:52Speaker 3: I still don't want to wake up and have like
- 11:53Speaker 3: my arm be around you or some shit. I'm super straight.
- 11:57Speaker 4: I don't think that would happen.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah, in New we say pause when that happens. Is
- 12:02Speaker 3: your phone off?
- 12:04Speaker 4: No? No, I'm still alive.

- 14:16Speaker 3: not even want to sleep with their with their bros
- 14:18Speaker 3: on some when they're even just straight straight style.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Well, I don't get it, because it doesn't bother me
- 14:23Speaker 4: at all.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I went on, I think I just like to have
- 14:26Speaker 3: my own space while I'm sleeping. So I think I'm
- 14:28Speaker 3: just gonna set up tent outside.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yeah, you sure could, You sure could. I'm looking forward
- 14:36Speaker 4: to tonight being the last really good night.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Of sleep before we head into the jungle. Yeah, into
- 14:42Speaker 3: the wilderness.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Yeah, because that's gonna be a lot of I thought
- 14:47Speaker 4: about getting ear plugs honestly for Yeah, well, let me
- 14:51Speaker 4: waking up at hours open.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Up, Yeah, four thirty, Wide awake at four thirty. Yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 3: wide awake at two thirty. Because we'renna end d want
- 15:00Speaker 3: to bed early as fuck, We're gonna up. We're gonna
- 15:02Speaker 3: end up going to bed at like ten pm, which
- 15:05Speaker 3: I never do. I go to bed at four am,
- 15:08Speaker 3: So it's really gonna fuck up my sleep schedule. But
- 15:12Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm not super worried about it. I
- 15:14Speaker 3: will say I'm a little I'm worried about it because
- 15:16Speaker 3: when I live like I obviously I live in New York,
- 15:18Speaker 3: and then you go and you when I go back
- 15:20Speaker 3: to like the suburbs, visit my family, I have a
- 15:22Speaker 3: hard time falling to sleep there because it's just so much.
- 15:24Speaker 3: It's just nothing. It's just empty sound, just white noise.
- 15:28Speaker 3: So sometimes I'll play city sounds on my phone to
- 15:31Speaker 3: fall asleep. City rats have to do that, like me.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I used to fall asleep listening to uh podcasts. Yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 4: this is every night.
- 15:41Speaker 3: They call that a paradox.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Yes, And I don't do that anymore. Now I can
- 15:47Speaker 4: just fall asleep on my own. But for a few
- 15:52Speaker 4: years there, I was just falling asleep to podcast.
- 15:55Speaker 3: That's good. That's good ship right there.
- 15:56Speaker 4: This is good.
- 15:56Speaker 3: This is a good podcast, and people.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Are gonna like this. Okay, good?
- 15:59Speaker 3: Yeah, what kind of pot you were? Joe Rogan guy,
- 16:01Speaker 3: I was.
- 16:02Speaker 4: In the podcast. Yeah, not because of Joe, more because
- 16:05Speaker 4: of the guests.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Well, don't go and slander Joe's good name like that.
- 16:09Speaker 3: The whole, the whole goal of my career is to
- 16:11Speaker 3: eventually get on his podcast.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Well yeah, well in that case, Joe, Joe was great.
- 16:16Speaker 3: He still is he Joe's a good guy.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Might as well. Just a breath of guests, I would say,
- 16:23Speaker 4: everyone from musicians to writers, scientists, adventurers. Just really a
- 16:31Speaker 4: breath of knowledge on that podcast. And it introduced me
- 16:34Speaker 4: to a lot of other different avenues I wanted to
- 16:38Speaker 4: learn more about. And yeah, it was kind of and
- 16:44Speaker 4: I think it was preceded by one evening me, you Peters,
- 16:51Speaker 4: and I think a few of our other friends. We
- 16:53Speaker 4: were we were on FaceTime or something and we fell
- 16:59Speaker 4: asleep all together while talking to each other on the phone.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Oh got that. I don't know how we got from
- 17:11Speaker 3: Joe Rogan to all of us falling asleep on the phone.
- 17:15Speaker 4: I don't know. That was really comforting.
- 17:18Speaker 3: What was comforting about that, Oh because we felt because
- 17:21Speaker 3: that was the first time you ever fell asleep without
- 17:23Speaker 3: a podcast.
- 17:25Speaker 4: No, this was before, like before I fall asleep.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Oh, so that was the start of your falling asleep
- 17:30Speaker 3: to other people.
- 17:31Speaker 4: It's also it's also a family thing, like my dad
- 17:33Speaker 4: falls asleep listening to Bob Ross every night.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Yeah that makes sense though, because Bob Ross is radioforting.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Did you is Bob Ross white? Is that is that
- 17:42Speaker 3: people are saying that he's a white man?
- 17:44Speaker 4: He is.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I was always under the impression that he was a
- 17:46Speaker 3: black man because of his fro.
- 17:48Speaker 4: No, not at all. He was a Vietnam veteran.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Is he Jewish?
- 17:54Speaker 4: I do not know what his religious affiliation, but he's
- 17:58Speaker 4: a wonderful man regardless.
- 18:01Speaker 3: All right, let's get into the interview segment of the podcast.
- 18:04Speaker 3: So we're joined by Bo This is we're going full
- 18:07Speaker 3: NPR right now. Yeah, this is no longer a comedy podcast.
- 18:12Speaker 4: This is what's the difference.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Well, typically, like when I would be with my good friends,
- 18:17Speaker 3: my best friends running Francis, we would be discussing like
- 18:21Speaker 3: funny shit, like like fucking bitches and like drinking and
- 18:26Speaker 3: doing drugs. And right now we're just going really like
- 18:30Speaker 3: deep into how we fall asleep at night. And definitely
- 18:36Speaker 3: the tone of this episode is a lot more it's
- 18:40Speaker 3: a lot more like innert Like it feels like this
- 18:43Speaker 3: might be the first time. If you never had listened
- 18:45Speaker 3: to the podcast before and listen to this episode, you
- 18:47Speaker 3: probably think it was the first time me and you
- 18:49Speaker 3: have ever met each other.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Well, I've actually never listened to an episode of the podcast,
- 18:55Speaker 4: so I don't know what it sounds like.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Really, what we all we talk about is Delta. We
- 18:59Speaker 3: talk about Olta Airlines for most of the episodes, and
- 19:03Speaker 3: then pedophilia for the other half, so we could get
- 19:06Speaker 3: into that. What you talk about. Are you up to
- 19:07Speaker 3: date on the doctor Disrespect situation?
- 19:10Speaker 4: I am not.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Now do you know Doctor Disrespect? He's he's a twitch streamer. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 3: and he's the guy that wears that like red jumpsuit
- 19:17Speaker 3: and he's got the wig on yep. Apparently he was
- 19:20Speaker 3: talking to teens online, which honestly is not that surprise. Like,
- 19:26Speaker 3: I guess it's surprising, but I'm never surprised anymore because
- 19:29Speaker 3: I feel like that's just happening every week now. It's
- 19:31Speaker 3: some celebrity is talking to teens online. First it was Drake,
- 19:35Speaker 3: Well first, it was probably a long time ago. I
- 19:40Speaker 3: don't think Drake was the first person to talk to
- 19:42Speaker 3: teens online, but Epstein, I guess, And then I guess
- 19:46Speaker 3: he kind of paved the way for a lot of
- 19:48Speaker 3: the big get the big ballers out there.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Yeah. Have you ever seen that show to Catch a Predator?
- 19:52Speaker 4: I have. Yeah, there's a lot of those guys, a lot.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Of Indian bros. Yeah, and they are always they're always
- 19:59Speaker 3: more well. I think the funniest thing is when they
- 20:02Speaker 3: go when Chris Hansen goes in and it's one of
- 20:04Speaker 3: those dudes, and they don't even know, like they're not
- 20:07Speaker 3: even aware what the problem is.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Yeah, they're like, you.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Didn't tell me, you didn't tell me your dad was
- 20:13Speaker 3: gonna be here. You do a killer Indian accent. I
- 20:21Speaker 3: won't make you do it on the pod.
- 20:23Speaker 4: But you do. Yeah, it's it's very good.
- 20:30Speaker 3: So let's get into the interview segment of the podcast.
- 20:33Speaker 3: So pretty much Bo and me known each other for
- 20:35Speaker 3: our entire lives. And then you moved out here, you
- 20:38Speaker 3: moved to you went to college in a bunch of
- 20:41Speaker 3: different places. What ole miss UVM Denver, Denver. Now you're
- 20:49Speaker 3: all around Denver. Go Seahawks, City Hawks, go city Hawks.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Of course, that's an awful mascot, city Hawks. They may
- 20:56Speaker 3: as well just call you guys like the city slickers.
- 20:59Speaker 3: But uh so, yeah, and then that, and then you
- 21:02Speaker 3: got a bunch of weird jobs you did. Uh you
- 21:05Speaker 3: you were a guide, a fly fishing guide in Alaska,
- 21:08Speaker 3: which is pretty cool. Yep. Yeah, tell us about that,
- 21:11Speaker 3: tell us about that experience.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I would love to.
- 21:16Speaker 3: So that we're almost done. We're already you were already
- 21:18Speaker 3: over halfway.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Okay, nice, I'll make this short then, well.
- 21:21Speaker 3: No, make it long, make it real. Going to go
- 21:24Speaker 3: into deep detail.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Well it was. It was a dark, dark night.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Don't go into that detail. Oh I got a question
- 21:32Speaker 3: about that. So when you're out in the woods like that,
- 21:35Speaker 3: because you were out there, how many people were you with?
- 21:37Speaker 3: How man people were you working with? And you were
- 21:39Speaker 3: really remote, like you had to take a a and
- 21:42Speaker 3: then a helicopter to get to the location.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Uh no, you can just take a sesna there.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Oh nice, we're still padding, yeah, yeah, still getting after it.
- 21:52Speaker 3: We're almost done though. Where we got like twelve minutes left,
- 21:55Speaker 3: so you had to take an It.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Was out in the woods, about hour hour and a
- 22:03Speaker 4: half plane ride in a sesna from Anchorage in the
- 22:10Speaker 4: south central area of Alaska in the woods on the
- 22:15Speaker 4: Talichalitna River. Okay, Yeah. And I was with about myself
- 22:21Speaker 4: and six to eight other people.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Was it all dudes for the most part.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Yes, except the cook. The two cooks and the house
- 22:33Speaker 4: cleaner were women. How old was my boss's wife.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Oh and your boss's wife. Do they live out.
- 22:39Speaker 4: There the my boss's wife part time. You can't really
- 22:44Speaker 4: live there in the winter just because it's so cold
- 22:47Speaker 4: and snow things covered in snow. Yeah, and the river
- 22:50Speaker 4: freezes over. They do use the river as a highway
- 22:56Speaker 4: pretty much, the uh snowmobiles, Yeah, which is quite cool.
- 23:04Speaker 6: Damn, that's sick.
- 23:05Speaker 3: So when you do that, do people ever go people
- 23:08Speaker 3: go back to Anchorage at all? Because I I remem
- 23:11Speaker 3: I heard I heard somewhere someone was talking about that
- 23:14Speaker 3: when all the dudes that like live in Alaska and
- 23:16Speaker 3: fish in the woods of Alaska. Apparently there's like one
- 23:19Speaker 3: strip club in Anchorage and apparently like every week it
- 23:23Speaker 3: just floods with a bunch of fishermen who haven't seen
- 23:25Speaker 3: a woman in light. I haven't seen a lady in
- 23:27Speaker 3: in months.
- 23:28Speaker 4: I mean, it's a similar lifestyle to that of someone
- 23:33Speaker 4: who might work out at sea.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Because yeah, I was thinking about that Walter Mitti scene.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Yeah, you've got nowhere to spend your money for months
- 23:40Speaker 4: at a time, but you're making good money and then
- 23:44Speaker 4: all of a sudden, like a sailor would come into port.
- 23:48Speaker 4: You do that you get into a city and blow
- 23:52Speaker 4: your load.
- 23:56Speaker 3: There is the different ways king of the jokes. So,
- 24:03Speaker 3: uh yeah, that's pretty sick because I remember, so you
- 24:07Speaker 3: were out there, So you're only out there with like
- 24:09Speaker 3: six seven other people for three months.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Right, yeah, and it's really just lucky to drop so
- 24:15Speaker 4: hopefully you get along with them, and thankfully we had
- 24:18Speaker 4: a great crew.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Could you abandon ship if you really wanted to, Like,
- 24:21Speaker 3: if you were out there and say you you really
- 24:24Speaker 3: like you weren't getting along. I know you did get
- 24:25Speaker 3: along with the people that you were with, but if
- 24:27Speaker 3: you were out there and like say it, it was
- 24:28Speaker 3: a bad group of people and they're like they're they're
- 24:31Speaker 3: beating the shit out of you every night. They're they're
- 24:34Speaker 3: hanging you from the flagpole, wedgie like cartoon bullying you,
- 24:37Speaker 3: like old school bullying you swirlies every night. Could you
- 24:41Speaker 3: could you hypothetically be like, guys, I got to get
- 24:43Speaker 3: out of here. This is not for me.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but in that hypothetical situation, it sounds like they
- 24:48Speaker 4: would be the ones keeping there.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Yeah. True, they probably wouldn't let you leave. It'd be
- 24:52Speaker 3: more of a cult at that point.
- 24:54Speaker 4: Logistically, you it would be very difficult to find a
- 24:57Speaker 4: ride from outside of the lodge to come get you.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, because there so if you quit, like if they
- 25:06Speaker 3: fired you, they would definitely take you back.
- 25:08Speaker 4: If you quit her you got fired, they'd fly you
- 25:12Speaker 4: out of there.
- 25:12Speaker 3: But if you quit and it's like they got to
- 25:14Speaker 3: spend a bunch of gas money to fly you out
- 25:17Speaker 3: and then fly back, is that coming out of your paycheck.
- 25:23Speaker 4: That I don't know. I don't know, but I mean,
- 25:24Speaker 4: you would have people coming in and out of the
- 25:26Speaker 4: lodge delivering fuel. I remember some nights I'd be in
- 25:31Speaker 4: my cabin and at eleven o'clock at night, when the
- 25:35Speaker 4: sun is still out, you'd have a Turbin Beaver, which
- 25:42Speaker 4: is a huge plane for SAYSNA sizes, have a huge
- 25:47Speaker 4: turban beaver come and land on the runway and wake
- 25:51Speaker 4: everyone up and unload fuel in the middle of the
- 25:56Speaker 4: night pretty much.
- 25:57Speaker 3: So you'd have to wake up and go unload the fuel.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Yeah, but you you would know that someone's coming in
- 26:03Speaker 4: and you definitely hear them land because those plane planes
- 26:06Speaker 4: are really loud, damn so.
- 26:08Speaker 3: You're it sounds like you're working on like a fucking
- 26:10Speaker 3: military base. No, obviously, the middle of the night and
- 26:14Speaker 3: you start hearing planes landing outside it and they're like fuel. Yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 3: is there like a Do they have like an intercom
- 26:21Speaker 3: system where they could contact everybody or was it all
- 26:24Speaker 3: just like walking talkies and shit?
- 26:25Speaker 4: Yeah, we all had radios, so just communicating through radios,
- 26:30Speaker 4: and a lot of times I'd be you know, my
- 26:33Speaker 4: cabin was right on the runway, so I'd have to
- 26:36Speaker 4: talk to the pilots and give them the wind status
- 26:40Speaker 4: whether we had a there's either a north or southern
- 26:42Speaker 4: wind usually, and let them know so they can land
- 26:47Speaker 4: against the wind.
- 26:48Speaker 3: That's pretty bad ass. Would you ever do that again?
- 26:50Speaker 3: Would you ever go back out to Alaska? Now you
- 26:52Speaker 3: think you're done with that?
- 26:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd love to go back to Alaska.
- 26:55Speaker 3: But not for that long of a period of time.
- 26:58Speaker 4: I mean, I'm always open to it. It was good money,
- 27:02Speaker 4: it was a good experience. Alaska is an incredible place.
- 27:09Speaker 4: But right now it's not really in my priorities. I
- 27:13Speaker 4: feel like I'm veig.
- 27:16Speaker 3: It feels what this feels like, And would you ever
- 27:21Speaker 3: go back to Alaska? Right now? It does not feel
- 27:25Speaker 3: like it's in my priorities. So you went to Alaska,
- 27:30Speaker 3: you went to Wyoming, for a little bit. Anyone that's
- 27:32Speaker 3: listened to the podcast for a while. That was like
- 27:34Speaker 3: one of the first episodes when we talked about the ranch,
- 27:36Speaker 3: and I was so nasty about it, and I feel
- 27:39Speaker 3: bad about it because now it's awkward because I was
- 27:41Speaker 3: really nasty about it, and then I have to come
- 27:42Speaker 3: here and talk and see all those people.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of them. A lot of them are
- 27:47Speaker 4: ranch people.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Yeah, which at all good people. I was just a
- 27:51Speaker 3: young I was a young fool trying to make my
- 27:53Speaker 3: way in the podcast scene.
- 27:55Speaker 4: All all my friends thought it, thought that episode was hilarious.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yeah, except I got I was banned forever, wasn't I?
- 28:02Speaker 4: Or was that a job about that?
- 28:03Speaker 3: Yeah, you sent me a you sent me a photo
- 28:06Speaker 3: that's had no barstool employees allowed, like I think the
- 28:12Speaker 3: company I think. I don't think like Dave Portnoy could
- 28:14Speaker 3: go to that ranch. I think everyone's banned.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I don't really quite remember.
- 28:19Speaker 3: I fucked it for everybody, which I feel bad about
- 28:21Speaker 3: and I wanted to issue an apology about that. But
- 28:24Speaker 3: so you did that for a while, and that was
- 28:26Speaker 3: kind of the stepping stone to Alaska.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that's when I really got into fly fishing, and
- 28:34Speaker 4: I wanted I wanted something new, I wanted a new adventure,
- 28:37Speaker 4: so I went to Alaska.
- 28:40Speaker 3: But you did stuff in between them, like you worked
- 28:42Speaker 3: at RIFUS in between there, and that's when you met
- 28:44Speaker 3: the world famous Tom Rosenbauer. Yeah, big takeaway from that.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I'm sure some of our listeners know Tom. I'd assume
- 28:52Speaker 3: almost all of them don't. I would assume almost all
- 28:58Speaker 3: of them don't care. Yeah about fly fishing, but uh,
- 29:03Speaker 3: you know, every now and then I'll get a message
- 29:05Speaker 3: and it'll be something about fly fishing. But no, I
- 29:08Speaker 3: assume none of them know Tom Rosenbauer. But you're your
- 29:10Speaker 3: big takeaway from meeting Tom was that he's very short
- 29:13Speaker 3: in person.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Yeah, he's much shorter than I expected, which is quite
- 29:20Speaker 4: fitting because I see him as just kind of like
- 29:22Speaker 4: a like a river troll.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it kind of just pops out of the.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Lord of the Rings character. Yeah. But yeah, very pleasant man,
- 29:35Speaker 4: pleasure to meet him.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Well that's good. I mean we're at twenty five minutes.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Let's see if we got anything else left in us.
- 29:42Speaker 3: This is going fine. This is going pretty well for
- 29:44Speaker 3: your first pod, and it's my This is like it
- 29:47Speaker 3: was either this. I called Francis in panic and I
- 29:50Speaker 3: was like, I don't know what to do, and he said,
- 29:52Speaker 3: either best of or this. So maybe we'll do like
- 29:54Speaker 3: thirty minutes, the best of thirty minutes of you know,
- 29:57Speaker 3: put this at the end, say.
- 29:58Speaker 4: It for the long as an episode.
- 30:01Speaker 3: The minimum is usually an hour, but you know, sometimes
- 30:03Speaker 3: we'll do an hour and a half. Sometimes we'll do
- 30:05Speaker 3: two hours. We had a bank a lot of episodes
- 30:08Speaker 3: lately because everyone's traveling so much. Ron is in Japan
- 30:10Speaker 3: right now, which is sick. He's in Tokyo, I believe.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Which we talked about that more in depth in the
- 30:15Speaker 3: lost episode that will maybe come out eventually because it's
- 30:19Speaker 3: recorded and it was a good episode. But yeah, Ron,
- 30:22Speaker 3: he spent all of his sky miles and he's flying
- 30:25Speaker 3: first class to Tokyo. Those are the ones where you
- 30:29Speaker 3: have like your whole you have a room to yourself.
- 30:32Speaker 4: Wow.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you ever fly one of those? When you flew
- 30:34Speaker 3: first class from Iceland? Was that nice?
- 30:36Speaker 4: Yeah? It was lovely?
- 30:38Speaker 3: Was that a bed? Did you have a bed?
- 30:39Speaker 4: It was Delta one yep. So the seats reclined all
- 30:42Speaker 4: the way and you know, really just first class service.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, wish. I flew first class on the way
- 30:51Speaker 3: here and it was a nightmare disaster TV. The size
- 30:55Speaker 3: of an iPhone didn't work. I played Balloon's Tower Defense
- 30:58Speaker 3: for five hours straight. Yeah, which was just a good
- 31:01Speaker 3: It was a good blast from the past. I almost
- 31:03Speaker 3: opened up Addicting Games dot Com to be honest, is
- 31:06Speaker 3: that still around? It's gotta be addicting games? And then
- 31:09Speaker 3: they probably got what was that good? What was the
- 31:10Speaker 3: good game on addicting Games? Was a hit Man? Is
- 31:12Speaker 3: that what it was called? I've played a lot of
- 31:15Speaker 3: them still actively. Oh yeah, there's no way you gotta
- 31:20Speaker 3: be a I would love to meet someone who's still
- 31:23Speaker 3: logging ONTO. It's probably someone who works in like a
- 31:25Speaker 3: cubicle and they're probably just popping that shit on every
- 31:27Speaker 3: now and then.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I imagine just.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Getting addicting Addicting Games dot Com.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Yeah, this is just an.
- 31:37Speaker 3: I don't think Addicting Games is running ads anymore. I'd
- 31:40Speaker 3: actually I bet that. I bet that website's probably down.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Look at this river.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Yeah, we just got the Nature channel on our TV.
- 31:47Speaker 3: We got the Nature channel on just kind of just
- 31:48Speaker 3: getting a glimpse of what's gonna what it's gonna be
- 31:50Speaker 3: like for the next seven days. Any fears. What are
- 31:53Speaker 3: your biggest fears for this next couple, for this next
- 31:55Speaker 3: week in Wyoming. It's gonna come out while we're in
- 31:58Speaker 3: the middle of Wyoming.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Oh okay, I fear not catching fish.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not even like within my top thirty fears.
- 32:07Speaker 3: I meant more fears of like death and pain.
- 32:10Speaker 4: No, I'm pretty confident in our team. Are you.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Are you worried about because I would say my biggest
- 32:15Speaker 3: fear other than like, I'm not really worried about bears,
- 32:19Speaker 3: mountain lions is always somewhat of a fear of mine.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Mine's more my mind and my mind being my biggest
- 32:25Speaker 3: My biggest predator is that I'm gonna lose my shit
- 32:28Speaker 3: at some point.
- 32:29Speaker 4: I think you'll be surprised how at ease and happy
- 32:33Speaker 4: you feel out there.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I've been in the woods before. I
- 32:36Speaker 3: guess I just haven't been for that long of a
- 32:37Speaker 3: period of time. It's weird for me not being able
- 32:41Speaker 3: to go on my phone for a week straight because
- 32:44Speaker 3: I am that's my entire life is on my phone.
- 32:47Speaker 4: I think you'll really appreciate the simplicity of just trying
- 32:50Speaker 4: to catch fish and then cooking dinner and and just
- 32:56Speaker 4: being out there playing some cards, playing some cards.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah, just getting absolutely loco on the card table.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Yeah, hopefully Peters and I can beat you.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Yeah. It seems to be a reoccurring thing as I'm
- 33:08Speaker 3: better at cards than everybody. But also I'm just I
- 33:10Speaker 3: just know the way and if I if I explain
- 33:12Speaker 3: to you guys my method of the card game that
- 33:14Speaker 3: we play this game Dutch, which is what, is there
- 33:17Speaker 3: a more populause. I feel like every time you name
- 33:19Speaker 3: a card game, people are like, oh, you mean spoons,
- 33:22Speaker 3: Like there's always like, there's always you explain to them
- 33:24Speaker 3: and they always have a different name for it.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know. I only know it by Dutch.
- 33:29Speaker 4: But it's a great game.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Well that's good.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Yeah, so I'm sure we'll play a bit of that.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 4: In terms of fears. In terms of fears, I'm not
- 33:40Speaker 4: really because.
- 33:41Speaker 3: There's gonna be a blowout at some point, there's gonna
- 33:43Speaker 3: be a fight where someone cries. Maybe it could be
- 33:48Speaker 3: brought to tears. I mean I was saying I was
- 33:50Speaker 3: talking to I said this on the last episode, but
- 33:53Speaker 3: because Francis was asking me about if we get in
- 33:55Speaker 3: arguments or fights, and I was like, we're never getting fights,
- 33:58Speaker 3: Like we're never like I'm like, drop your bag down,
- 34:01Speaker 3: like let's let's let's brawl. But we get in like
- 34:04Speaker 3: we got in the Hitler argument in uh in Iceland
- 34:06Speaker 3: on the last night, where we debated if Hiler was
- 34:08Speaker 3: a genius or not for like four hours straight.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean we definitely get into passionate arguments,
- 34:15Speaker 4: but never come to blows.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Never come to blows. But we never we've never been
- 34:19Speaker 3: on a trip this long before where we were just
- 34:20Speaker 3: in the woods the whole time, so we don't really
- 34:22Speaker 3: know like it could come to blows, which it wouldn't
- 34:25Speaker 3: at this point. Maybe in Iceland it would have because
- 34:28Speaker 3: you probably had forty less pounds of muscle on your
- 34:31Speaker 3: body at that point, so I think I could have
- 34:33Speaker 3: had a chance then.
- 34:34Speaker 6: But right now.
- 34:36Speaker 3: You could knock me out in one punch, cold instantly.
- 34:39Speaker 4: I don't know, Bro, you.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Don't got to be shy. You don't got to be
- 34:42Speaker 3: shy about your a massive your mass that you've that
- 34:45Speaker 3: you've captivated in the last year.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Thank you. No, I don't have are not catching enough
- 34:53Speaker 4: fish the rain? I hope it doesn't rain.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope it doesn't rain. I don't think it's
- 34:59Speaker 3: gonna rain though, says it's not going.
- 35:00Speaker 4: To just I just hope for good weather, good conditions.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Peters, what would your biggest fears be? Now? Nothing? He's
- 35:07Speaker 3: made it very clear he does not want to be
- 35:08Speaker 3: a part of this podcast.
- 35:10Speaker 4: Peters is the one you guys should really be asking about.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Me and Peters. Actually we have a we have a
- 35:16Speaker 3: long history of content together that a lot of people
- 35:18Speaker 3: don't know about. Probably what it probably is what eight
- 35:21Speaker 3: years ago I had like, yeah, when we used to stream,
- 35:25Speaker 3: I had like eleven thousand followers on Twitter and we
- 35:29Speaker 3: would stream Fortnite. I think it was mostly Fortnite for
- 35:35Speaker 3: one dude, and it would be the same dude every
- 35:38Speaker 3: single time, and he would donate. He would send you
- 35:40Speaker 3: would send like five bucks and I'd be like, thanks
- 35:42Speaker 3: for the donations. Chat even though it's just one guy
- 35:46Speaker 3: that I was talking like, it was thousands of people.
- 35:48Speaker 3: And I would have to force Peters to uh to
- 35:51Speaker 3: turn his microphone on because he wouldn't want to record.
- 35:53Speaker 3: But so he this is this isn't his first rodeo.
- 35:56Speaker 3: He knows what it's like to be in the scene.
- 35:58Speaker 3: He's also I mean he's pretty much he's on the
- 36:00Speaker 3: road with me constantly.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Yeah, he's kind of your road Yeah, kind.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Of just like a green room guy. Great for the hang,
- 36:06Speaker 3: I mean, absolutely unbelievable hang with this guy.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a lot of fun.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys came to uh when me and Frances
- 36:16Speaker 3: did Comedy Works Denver. Yeah, that was great, and that

- 36:33Speaker 3: I suck. And then you hear Francis doing a little
- 36:36Speaker 3: better than you. And then I turned to you guys,
- 36:38Speaker 3: and I'm like, what did he do better than me?
- 36:40Speaker 3: You'd be honest, did he do better than me?
- 36:43Speaker 4: I thought you guys both did really well. And Luke
- 36:46Speaker 4: as well. Oh yeah, I.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Forgot Luke was there too. I haven't seen Muke in
- 36:49Speaker 3: a while.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Yeah. I'd love to get the boys back together.
- 36:53Speaker 3: We got to get that crew back together. But we're uh,
- 36:56Speaker 3: we can wrap it up. We're at thirty three minutes.
- 36:57Speaker 3: So I don't know if people will listen to this.
- 36:59Speaker 3: If Yllan, I don't even know if this is going
- 37:01Speaker 3: to come out, but if it does, it does, and
