  Speaker 1: So this is the calling of Moses. This is the

  Speaker 1: making of a deliverer of Moses, the man of God,

  Speaker 1: powerful prophet to the nation, very revered in the nation
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: of Israel. And so we went to Abraham. And now
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: we're on Moses in his defense against those who falsely
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: accused him. And that's where we're picking up. Now, looks

  Speaker 1: like you lost another one. The Angel of the Lord

  Speaker 1: here is often understood as a christophane, a pre incarnate

  Speaker 1: did not look. Now, God identifies himself through covenant. Right here,

  Speaker 1: he uses the covenant that he was established through Abraham, Isaac,

  Speaker 1: and Jacob. Now that represents promise, provision, and transformation in

  Speaker 1: each one of those covenants. His relationship with those men.

  Speaker 1: Now Moses trembled because revelation produces reverence. You can't encounter

  Speaker 1: a holy God and stay casual, not at all. In Hebrew,

  Speaker 1: though fear is awe. It is spelled why I are

  Speaker 1: Now God was separating Moses from his old identity. The

  Speaker 1: Consecrated God can turn a wilderness into a sanctuary. Wow,

  Speaker 1: God tells Moses three things. I have seen what should

  Speaker 1: comfort us, I have heard what should bless us, and

  Speaker 1: I will deliver that should give us hope in victory.

  Speaker 1: Now this shows God's compassion and it shows God's sovereignty. Hallelujah.

  Speaker 1: Now this is powerful. God doesn't ignore our struggles. Right,

  Speaker 1: our struggles are not ignored. He sees, he hears, and

  Speaker 1: he moves. The phrase I will send you means a

  Speaker 1: postello or just like the apostolic calling, right, the commission

  Speaker 1: to dispatch with authority. Hallelujah. Moses becomes God's representative because

  Speaker 1: God's heart is towards his people. That's what God is

  Speaker 1: a pastor or an evangelist, or you're called to go

  Speaker 1: into your community, let God commission you so that you

  Speaker 1: can be a sent out one. Amen. Verse thirty five.

  Speaker 1: This Moses, whom they rejected, saying who made you ruler

  Speaker 1: and a judge, is the one God sent to be
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: ruler and deliverer. Amen. Now this is the irony. The

  Speaker 1: very man they rejected is the one God chose. This

  Speaker 1: parallels Jesus one hundred percent. Jesus was rejected by his

  Speaker 1: own people, yet chosen by God as savior. Man. Your rejecting,

  Speaker 1: Your rejection is often confirmation of your calling. Let me

  Speaker 1: say that again. Your rejection is often confirmation of your calling.

  Speaker 1: God specializes in rising up of the rejected. What people dismiss,

  Speaker 1: people dismiss is the very thing that God will anoint. Amen,

  Speaker 1: and prepare thirty six. He brought them out after He

  Speaker 1: has shown wonders and signs in the land of Egypt,

  Speaker 1: and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness forty years.

  Speaker 1: Moses ministry was marked by miracles, but miracles alone didn't
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: change Israel's hearts, which is the sad part about it.

  Speaker 1: Deliverance takes power, but transformation takes obedience. Let me say

  Speaker 1: that again. Deliverance takes the power of God, but transformation
• 14:30
  Speaker 1: takes obedience on our part. Science didn't mature or should

  Speaker 1: I say, won't mature us right Surrender is the only
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: thing that brings maturity in our lives. Moses was powerful

  Speaker 1: because he obeyed God step by step. Deliverance leads to discipleship. Amen.

  Speaker 1: you shall hear. Now this is a prophecy of Jesus Christ,

  Speaker 1: a prophet like Moses, a mentor and mediator, a deliverer

  Speaker 1: and a leader, all that was fulfilled by Christ himself.

  Speaker 1: Stephan is connecting Moses to Jesus on purpose. Right here

  Speaker 1: now you see, Moses is the shadow. Jesus is the substance.

  Speaker 1: Moses delivered Egypt. Moses delivered the nation from Egypt, but

  Speaker 1: Moses received revelation so the people could walk in relationship.

  Speaker 1: And the word of God is supposed to lead us

  Speaker 1: to relationship. We're supposed to apply what we're learning where

  Speaker 1: it's supposed to live it out, and it's supposed to

  Speaker 1: bring us to obedience. And that's where we're going to
• 17:27
  Speaker 1: get our growth and our maturity in our walk with
• 17:32
  Speaker 1: the Lord. Now, the last verse for the segment is
• 17:38
  Speaker 1: whom the fathers would not obey, but reject it. And
• 17:43
  Speaker 1: in your hearts they turned back, And in their hearts,
• 17:48
  Speaker 1: my reading is just off today, and in their hearts

  Speaker 1: they turned back to Egypt. Now, Israel's consistent desire to

  Speaker 1: return to Egypt reflects rebellion and unbelief. It looks like

  Speaker 1: you lost another one. Spiritual backsliding often begins in the

  Speaker 1: heart long before the actions will follow. Behind it. Now,

  Speaker 1: Egypt represents bondage. When people don't trust God, they run

  Speaker 1: to the very thing that has enslaved them. Deliverance is instant,

  Speaker 1: is instant, but discipleship is daily. Deliverance is instant, but

  Speaker 1: discipleship is a daily thing. We need to be disciples

  Speaker 1: of the Lord, our God, every second, every minute, every
