- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with I our Radio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's the almost famous podcast.
- 0:06Speaker 3: We are here with one of the sweetest and one
- 0:11Speaker 3: of the people from Bachcination with the best giggle, Chris Souls.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Chris welcome.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Thank you guys for having me. Good to be here.
- 0:19Speaker 5: You know, Chris, I was just thinking, you know, he
- 0:21Speaker 5: was talking about how you are so sweet. You're also
- 0:25Speaker 5: one of the most popular wedding guests in Bachelor Nation.
- 0:28Speaker 5: I feel like every Bachelor wedding I go to, you're there.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Well he's not.
- 0:34Speaker 2: He just comes.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. I'm the best wedding crasher. I mean I
- 0:39Speaker 4: learned that on my on my season. You know, remember
- 0:42Speaker 4: Waitning and I crashed that wedding actually remember that?
- 0:44Speaker 6: Well that's right.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 5: And it was a big debate on whether or not
- 0:48Speaker 5: you guys came up with the idea and you actually
- 0:52Speaker 5: for fore went the rest the actual date plan for
- 0:57Speaker 5: the day, or whether it was this grand scheme from
- 1:01Speaker 5: the production standpoint to like make you guys think that
- 1:05Speaker 5: you were crashing the event, but like somebody put it
- 1:07Speaker 5: in your head.
- 1:09Speaker 4: It was a combination. It was funny because it was
- 1:12Speaker 4: production of course, but Winnie. It was like, we should
- 1:16Speaker 4: crash that wedding. I'm like, yeah, should like And I
- 1:21Speaker 4: like looking at Bennett and this is perfect because she
- 1:24Speaker 4: was already into it and it was already planned and
- 1:26Speaker 4: we had there was cameraman.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Ah wait, it was already planned, so that was your date.
- 1:32Speaker 6: But she came up with the idea.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Yes, we both kind of agreed that we should crash
- 1:37Speaker 4: the wedding without it, you know, anybody putting it in
- 1:40Speaker 4: her head. Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Interesting.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Yeah, we all like were quite threatened by that move
- 1:46Speaker 5: because it just seemed like an intimate move, like something
- 1:49Speaker 5: that you two came up with together.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we did. We did. But then they're
- 1:56Speaker 4: just as as chance would have. A production wanted us
- 1:59Speaker 4: to do it as well. Interesting, so they were there.
- 2:02Speaker 4: We was a teamwork without us, without Whitney even knowing it,
- 2:05Speaker 4: we were crashing. Whitney thought we were crashing wedding on
- 2:08Speaker 4: our own the whole time.
- 2:10Speaker 2: That's great. I mean that's what that's what they want.
- 2:12Speaker 3: They want, they want that real reaction, which is so
- 2:16Speaker 3: hard sometimes on the show.
- 2:18Speaker 4: It was special. I mean we were like we were
- 2:21Speaker 4: Whitney thought we were like we were so well and
- 2:25Speaker 4: we all, yeah, one hundred per and like we were
- 2:28Speaker 4: literally talking to the wedding guests and the friends of
- 2:30Speaker 4: the family, and Whitney's like trying to sell that I'm
- 2:32Speaker 4: her boyfriend and nothing to do with the show. And
- 2:36Speaker 4: she was on her game the whole time. It was funny.
- 2:38Speaker 4: She was was like, yeah, what she says?
- 2:43Speaker 6: Have you ever had that couple again?
- 2:47Speaker 4: Wow?
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:52Speaker 6: Whose wedding you crashed? Was it a real wedding?
- 2:54Speaker 5: Because I would have been annoyed that they took the
- 2:56Speaker 5: spotlight from me.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I don't think we took the spotlight. We enhanced it
- 3:02Speaker 4: all right.
- 3:03Speaker 2: They had a nationally televised wedding. That's special.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Speaking of enhanced weddings, we were all just at Nick
- 3:11Speaker 3: and Natalie's wedding in Savannah, Georgia. We had a great time.
- 3:15Speaker 3: It was great to see everybody. Chris, your ex Victoria
- 3:20Speaker 3: Fuller was also there.
- 3:23Speaker 2: How did that go? Is that a Is that.
- 3:26Speaker 3: A weird run in for you now? Or is that
- 3:28Speaker 3: just a run in? How does how do you process that?
- 3:31Speaker 3: Entering into it?
- 3:34Speaker 4: You know, it's I knew she was going to be there.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I knew her and Natalie were good friends and still is.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Nick and her are good friends, and I was good
- 3:41Speaker 4: to see her. You know, I don't know, it's always
- 3:44Speaker 4: a little bit well, I don't know that it's weird
- 3:47Speaker 4: anymore in this world that we kind of live in,
- 3:50Speaker 4: that we've you know, I've got enough xces that's maturity.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Is is a level where I can handle that. You know,
- 3:57Speaker 4: she's a great person and happy for what she's doing,
- 4:01Speaker 4: and so yeah, still care a ton about her, and
- 4:04Speaker 4: so yeah, it was just nice to see her and
- 4:07Speaker 4: got to talk to her a little bit at the
- 4:09Speaker 4: at the wedding reception, and so it was good.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Did you did you secretly wish that she was just
- 4:14Speaker 5: still going to be with Greg and then you have
- 4:17Speaker 5: a quick hello like Hi, I know you're with someone,
- 4:20Speaker 5: just wanted to acknowledge your presence. But then when she's single,
- 4:24Speaker 5: you're like, oh man, this really adds a layer.
- 4:27Speaker 4: You're right, You're right, Ashley, it does add a layer
- 4:30Speaker 4: of like okay, but.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Not potential, potential, potential.
- 4:37Speaker 4: It's just question marks then instead of like black and white.
- 4:40Speaker 4: You know. So, but no, it's a truly good friend
- 4:45Speaker 4: and hope to keep it that way.
- 4:46Speaker 7: And and but yeah, well the wedding was a really
- 4:51Speaker 7: spectacular event, and it is always fun to be at
- 4:55Speaker 7: these weddings because there is run ins.
- 4:57Speaker 3: With other people from Bachelor Nation. But today we're here
- 5:01Speaker 3: to talk to Chris and Chris specifically Chris. Now we
- 5:04Speaker 3: just talked about your ex Victoria being at the wedding.
- 5:09Speaker 3: We have another one of your exes here on the
- 5:11Speaker 3: podcast today, Ashley.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I don't know, I'll say it does anymore question marks
- 5:19Speaker 4: are gone. We get Jared so.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And I wonder if you're dating anybody today. It's kind
- 5:29Speaker 3: of been kept secret for a while. We haven't got
- 5:31Speaker 3: to hear about your dating life, and I'm curious, are
- 5:35Speaker 3: you out there?
- 5:37Speaker 4: I'm definitely out there. I guess I'm not in a
- 5:40Speaker 4: relationship at the moment, but yeah, I mean I think
- 5:44Speaker 4: of yeah, class myself is single and out there.
- 5:49Speaker 6: How do you get out there?
- 5:51Speaker 5: Well, I forget the name of the town Arlington, Arlington, Iowa. Yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 5: what's out there? Do you have to literally go out
- 6:00Speaker 5: there to find people?
- 6:03Speaker 4: Yeah, you really do have to. The one fact still
- 6:06Speaker 4: remains is that Arlington is not a hotbed for dating.
- 6:09Speaker 4: So yeah, we're right in the middle of planting right now.
- 6:13Speaker 4: We're kind of have a rain day today, but yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 4: so getting away and going to weddings and doing things
- 6:19Speaker 4: are sort of my getting out there.
- 6:22Speaker 3: So when you show up to a wedding, I mean,
- 6:25Speaker 3: you're a very handsome fella, You're looking good. You're going
- 6:28Speaker 3: to Nick and Natalie's wedding? Are you walking in kind
- 6:31Speaker 3: of surveying the crowd seeing who catches your eye?
- 6:35Speaker 4: Of course?
- 6:37Speaker 5: Can you tell us a good like wedding story, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 5: not not like I say, wedding crashers, because in wedding crashers,
- 6:43Speaker 5: the guys always used to hook up with somebody. You
- 6:46Speaker 5: already you are told your wedding crashing story, but like,
- 6:48Speaker 5: can you tell us a good story of like you
- 6:51Speaker 5: really hitting it off with somebody at a wedding?
- 6:53Speaker 6: Have you? Is there anybody that was like the one
- 6:55Speaker 6: that got away? You had a wedding the.
- 6:57Speaker 4: One that got away? Oh man, I can't remember any
- 7:02Speaker 4: of those things. But I don't know that I have
- 7:08Speaker 4: any great, wonderful stories that I can share. But yeah, no,
- 7:13Speaker 4: I mean it's I wouldn't say it's that's the number
- 7:16Speaker 4: one goal at a wedding for me. I don't get
- 7:18Speaker 4: take me the wrong way. I do go for you know,
- 7:24Speaker 4: yes to support my dear friends Nick and Nadlie and
- 7:27Speaker 4: those that are celebrating their day. But yeah, you know,
- 7:30Speaker 4: it's anywhere now when you're single, I guess it's you
- 7:35Speaker 4: have to be able to be open minded anytime that
- 7:38Speaker 4: you are in a public place, not in a farm,
- 7:41Speaker 4: you know, in a cornfield. So I have to actually
- 7:45Speaker 4: be pursuing in order to figure this out.
- 7:49Speaker 3: So when you are getting out there to date, then
- 7:51Speaker 3: we just mentioned weddings, uh, and you do attend a
- 7:55Speaker 3: lot of them because you're a good friend with many people. Uh,
- 7:58Speaker 3: and you're a supportive friend. Where are you going in
- 8:01Speaker 3: your life to date? Then if Arlington is not exactly
- 8:05Speaker 3: the hotbed that you are interested in, where are you
- 8:09Speaker 3: traveling to and going on these dates most often?
- 8:13Speaker 4: Oh? You know it's sort of I don't have a
- 8:18Speaker 4: specific place really. It just depends, you know, looking to
- 8:21Speaker 4: come out to Denver soon to come visit you, but
- 8:23Speaker 4: you're never there, Ben.
- 8:25Speaker 6: That's Menver.
- 8:26Speaker 5: They call it Menver for a reason. Yeah, you got
- 8:29Speaker 5: to go somewhere with a higher female population.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right, And some of that kind of can
- 8:36Speaker 4: happen through social media too, right, you know, so I
- 8:39Speaker 4: don't really spit pick a specific area, and being from
- 8:44Speaker 4: a small town, I still like to travel. So I've
- 8:47Speaker 4: been sort of looking at different places that maybe have
- 8:50Speaker 4: you know, winter winters are pretty tough and in Iowa,
- 8:55Speaker 4: so being able to sort of build a have a
- 8:59Speaker 4: place place where I can go for weekends and and
- 9:02Speaker 4: uh weeks at a time when it's whether it's crappy
- 9:05Speaker 4: or not in the field. But I don't have a
- 9:08Speaker 4: like a go to and but so it's a little
- 9:12Speaker 4: little social media, a little direct messages here and there.
- 9:15Speaker 4: You know, whatever that.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Works, it works.
- 9:18Speaker 3: It's a great plan. Yeah, I have no problem with
- 9:21Speaker 3: the direct message. I mean I found my wife direct
- 9:24Speaker 3: messaging her.
- 9:25Speaker 4: That's how.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Yeah, you got there at midnight. And then the I
- 9:41Speaker 5: called them crystalism because like, for some reason, like it's
- 9:43Speaker 5: just funny when it happens to you, right, you got
- 9:47Speaker 5: you got to the hotel at midnight, and then they're like, oh,
- 9:50Speaker 5: we gave away your room, which is the weirdest thing.
- 9:53Speaker 5: I've never had a hotel say that, like, because you
- 9:56Speaker 5: didn't get there until late in the evening that they
- 9:59Speaker 5: gave away the whole tell Normally they call you and they're.
- 10:02Speaker 6: Like, hey, it was your flight light or like you
- 10:04Speaker 6: still come in. They're just now.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Yeah, they just they just happened to happened. It next
- 10:12Speaker 4: my reservation. So I got there at midnight and found
- 10:17Speaker 4: out that I didn't have a room, and so they
- 10:19Speaker 4: relocated me to downtown Savannah at it's kind of been
- 10:24Speaker 4: over a little rougher area, and they had an eight
- 10:27Speaker 4: and I was a little concerning, but yeah, it's quite
- 10:30Speaker 4: a quite an evening and and uh yeah it's things
- 10:33Speaker 4: got I was at my flight was a little delayed
- 10:36Speaker 4: out of Iowa and had some we were in the field,
- 10:38Speaker 4: and so yeah, it was kind of comical. The guy
- 10:41Speaker 4: at the friend desk just was not interested in helping
- 10:43Speaker 4: me out, so he just shipped me off to another
- 10:45Speaker 4: hotel and.
- 10:46Speaker 6: And they made you pay for that hotel.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it was weird. And then they booked me a
- 10:52Speaker 4: room for the following evening. I don't understand. He said,
- 10:54Speaker 4: there were a full and a lot of it is
- 10:58Speaker 4: just the things that happened to me.
- 11:01Speaker 5: And then the next day, very funny, we saw you
- 11:04Speaker 5: downstairs in the lobby. You're happy to have a hotel
- 11:07Speaker 5: room at that hotel. You text me when we are
- 11:10Speaker 5: already twenty minutes into the trolley ride and go, hey,
- 11:13Speaker 5: when's the trolley leaving.
- 11:16Speaker 6: It's a classic. And then you actually made it with
- 11:20Speaker 6: plenty of time.
- 11:21Speaker 4: With your guy. That was perfect. It was perfect. I
- 11:24Speaker 4: had a great Uber ride. The guy actually picked me up.
- 11:27Speaker 4: He's like, you know, I'm not supposed to. I don't
- 11:31Speaker 4: I don't want it. I don't want this ride. I
- 11:33Speaker 4: don't know why they I don't know why they gave
- 11:35Speaker 4: me this ride. I'm like, well, sir, I'm going to
- 11:40Speaker 4: a wedding and I'm kind of late. Can you make
- 11:43Speaker 4: it work today? He's like, I don't know. I don't
- 11:47Speaker 4: know why they gave me this ride. I just don't
- 11:49Speaker 4: want it. I'm like, well, I can't help you there.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I don't work for Uber, but I'll give you a
- 11:55Speaker 4: good tip. And so we became friends though, and we
- 11:58Speaker 4: got me over there. He's like, the only reason I'm
- 12:00Speaker 4: taking you is because you're going to a wedding. Whatever it takes, man.
- 12:07Speaker 2: You did.
- 12:08Speaker 3: You showed up in style. But outside of the wedding
- 12:13Speaker 3: now kind of switching gears than Chris, we just uh
- 12:17Speaker 3: were a part of the Golden Wedding. Ashley and myself
- 12:21Speaker 3: attended the Golden wedding just uh, a few short months ago.
- 12:25Speaker 5: I still have toenail polish on from that wedding. So
- 12:29Speaker 5: my toenail polish lasted longer than in the relationships. The
- 12:33Speaker 5: relationship but you know, yes, I do need another predictre.
- 12:36Speaker 5: That's my toenail since then. Okay, guys, and just the
- 12:41Speaker 5: lingering effects not going on.
- 12:42Speaker 2: There was no judgment on this show.
- 12:44Speaker 6: There's body I haven't painted them.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Is there any.
- 12:54Speaker 3: There's not, but there is still fresh memories. It feels
- 12:58Speaker 3: like it was yesterday and it really wasn't that far
- 13:00Speaker 3: past yesterday. And the big reason now this couple has
- 13:06Speaker 3: decided to split is distance. They've realized that distance is
- 13:12Speaker 3: an issue in their relationship. Now, Chris, you also at
- 13:17Speaker 3: one time were the Bachelor and you were in a
- 13:19Speaker 3: relationship following the Bachelor with Whitney, and publicly you ha
- 13:23Speaker 3: said that distance was one of the main reason, if
- 13:26Speaker 3: not the main reason that relationship did not work. Can
- 13:30Speaker 3: you walk through for any listener why distance is such
- 13:34Speaker 3: a hard thing to figure out coming off of this
- 13:37Speaker 3: show and maybe also answer to why people don't figure
- 13:42Speaker 3: it out before they get engaged or married.
- 13:47Speaker 5: It's just bs and it's a great excuse to put
- 13:50Speaker 5: out in the public.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Which part would would be BS. I don't think any
- 13:55Speaker 4: of it's BS. I guess really, I mean I don't
- 13:58Speaker 4: think the individual. I mean, I guess my personal experience
- 14:01Speaker 4: none of it was BS.
- 14:02Speaker 5: I mean real you actually you actually broke up because
- 14:06Speaker 5: of distance?
- 14:08Speaker 4: Well, I didn't say that. I mean there was that
- 14:16Speaker 4: part of I mean, it's part of any relationship is
- 14:18Speaker 4: you know, proximity to your partner, right, So I think
- 14:22Speaker 4: it's I don't think you can put one thing on
- 14:24Speaker 4: my personal experience and how that relationship why it was
- 14:28Speaker 4: not successful. But distance, you know, after the show, I
- 14:32Speaker 4: think has a lot of effects on on relationships just
- 14:35Speaker 4: because it's a you're you're living a different life right
- 14:38Speaker 4: off the bat for a few for a few months, definitely,
- 14:41Speaker 4: and for a few years and maybe forever. So I
- 14:44Speaker 4: think that, you know, and then then having all those
- 14:46Speaker 4: different dynamics thrown at you. I mean, I know that
- 14:49Speaker 4: my life was much different prior to being the Bachelor,
- 14:52Speaker 4: much different, and my relationship relationships were much different. You know,
- 14:57Speaker 4: they weren't the same, and so you know the reasons
- 15:02Speaker 4: that we had distance were different from like what I
- 15:05Speaker 4: would have had normally in my normal life because of
- 15:08Speaker 4: agriculture and farming has always created a challenge with with
- 15:13Speaker 4: being able to live near each other in previous relationships.
- 15:16Speaker 4: But I think that, you know, I don't think you
- 15:19Speaker 4: put one thing on any relationship after going on the Bachelor.
- 15:22Speaker 4: It's such a such a tough experience. You're just taking
- 15:26Speaker 4: on so many different life experiences. And whether it's social
- 15:31Speaker 4: media or being public in a relationship, is is changes.
- 15:35Speaker 4: It changes the game no matter what who you are,
- 15:38Speaker 4: so and distance is I would say if that was
- 15:42Speaker 4: something that affected them, Maybe it is not quite one
- 15:45Speaker 4: hundred percent, but I would Yeah, kids, I wouldn't. Yeah,
- 15:50Speaker 4: I don't know if I'm answering that question if there
- 15:52Speaker 4: is a good answer. Really it's a loaded question.
- 15:55Speaker 5: You know, But I think you're right when you say
- 15:57Speaker 5: it can be a factor which causes relationship.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I want.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I wonder.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I wonder if the path too is, Hey, we're needing
- 16:08Speaker 3: to make a decision on where we're gonna live, right,
- 16:10Speaker 3: If we want this relationship to work, we've got to
- 16:12Speaker 3: get closer to each other. And then as you start
- 16:14Speaker 3: having that conversation, then it starts opening up the door
- 16:17Speaker 3: to do we actually think this is gonna work, Like,
- 16:20Speaker 3: is it worth us to move closer to each other
- 16:22Speaker 3: because we have other issues that are very prevalent, and
- 16:28Speaker 3: distance is definitely the culprit for bringing those issues up,
- 16:31Speaker 3: because maybe we wouldn't have talked about.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Them for a few more months. But you know what,
- 16:36Speaker 2: we're not gonna work.
- 16:37Speaker 3: It's not gonna work, and so we're gonna blame it
- 16:39Speaker 3: on distance because distance kind of is the factor. However,
- 16:43Speaker 3: if you know, if there was so many other good
- 16:46Speaker 3: things going on, then distance wouldn't be a factor at all. Chris,
- 16:49Speaker 3: could you agree with that or do you see holes
- 16:52Speaker 3: in that?
- 16:53Speaker 4: No? I think it's easy to make kind of you know,
- 16:56Speaker 4: you can make a broad paint a lot of things
- 16:59Speaker 4: with a rod brush just to publicly say, you know.
- 17:02Speaker 4: And so there it's their right to kind of keep
- 17:06Speaker 4: some things personal and regarding their relationship. And I'm sure,
- 17:09Speaker 4: like you said, if it's one percent distance and then
- 17:13Speaker 4: there's a million other things that are affecting that, then
- 17:16Speaker 4: putting it on distance and that being the the public reason,
- 17:20Speaker 4: and then you know, I'm sure there's a lot more
- 17:21Speaker 4: to any relationship.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I mean, it's a lot easier than being coming out
- 17:25Speaker 3: and being like, well, he's selfish and you're you know,
- 17:28Speaker 3: and you're controlling, and he's this, and she's like just
- 17:32Speaker 3: distance is kind of this very level equal, like hard
- 17:36Speaker 3: to criticize it. I actually appreciate that distance is the
- 17:39Speaker 3: excuse more than no. This here's how I really think
- 17:44Speaker 3: about it.
- 17:45Speaker 6: No, you do not.
- 17:46Speaker 5: You would so much more appreciate that that would be
- 17:48Speaker 5: fun for us.
- 17:50Speaker 6: It's like, distance really is the issue because I don't
- 17:54Speaker 6: want to move to you because I don't like you
- 17:57Speaker 6: enough to move to you.
- 17:58Speaker 4: That's what it is. And there's that, you know, and
- 18:01Speaker 4: the other challenge, like I mean, I've gone through a
- 18:04Speaker 4: public breakoup. It's like, well, the reasons may be different
- 18:07Speaker 4: for both parties, right, So the one thing that they
- 18:10Speaker 4: can agree on is distance. You know, maybe the one
- 18:15Speaker 4: person has body odor, you know, we're not going to
- 18:17Speaker 4: talk about that on social media. I Mean, there's there's
- 18:21Speaker 4: reasons that each person may just not want to, you know,
- 18:25Speaker 4: and they might disagree on the reasons that they're even
- 18:28Speaker 4: not going to be together. So but they can agree
- 18:31Speaker 4: on one thing, it's distance.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I have an insider's story, Chris that I want to
- 18:37Speaker 3: bring up. This is a rumor. I want to be
- 18:38Speaker 3: clear that, as I preface preface this, this is a
- 18:42Speaker 3: rumor of a generalization of a conversation that that Gary
- 18:47Speaker 3: and Teresa had and I and I think you're going
- 18:50Speaker 3: to find it interesting. Now, this rumor is speculative, but uh,
- 18:56Speaker 3: it does seem to carry some weight in truth that
- 18:59Speaker 3: something like this did happen between them and it was
- 19:02Speaker 3: kind of the.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Culprit for the breakup. Ashley. Should I share it?
- 19:07Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:07Speaker 6: Have you shared this with me yet?
- 19:09Speaker 2: I've not shared this with you.
- 19:11Speaker 6: I love it. Go for it.
- 19:13Speaker 4: This great.
- 19:14Speaker 2: So there's a rumor.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I want again, I'm going to be clear, this is
- 19:18Speaker 3: a rumor, and if anything, we can at least and
- 19:21Speaker 3: maybe not even speak to the fact that one of
- 19:23Speaker 3: them said this or didn't say this, but talk about
- 19:25Speaker 3: how it would feel to you if somebody said this
- 19:27Speaker 3: to you, Chris, because it will relate to you. There
- 19:30Speaker 3: is a rumor that on Teresa's visit to Indiana, Gary
- 19:35Speaker 3: picked Teresa up at the airport. It's about two hours
- 19:39Speaker 3: from Gary where Gary lives. Now, that's just the thing
- 19:41Speaker 3: about living in Indiana. You're going to drive to an
- 19:43Speaker 3: airport two hours every time, trust me.
- 19:46Speaker 6: And if she wants to go home a lot, see
- 19:48Speaker 6: the grandchildren.
- 19:50Speaker 2: It's tough.
- 19:50Speaker 6: That's tough.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Com Yeah, So after he picks her up, they're both excited.
- 19:56Speaker 3: But there had already been some issues in the relationship. Okay,
- 20:00Speaker 3: there'd already been some just grumblings and some things happening.
- 20:04Speaker 3: But they're excited to be with each other, but they're
- 20:06Speaker 3: not seeing eye to eye in life. They're driving this
- 20:09Speaker 3: two hours from Indianapolis to his lake house, and most
- 20:14Speaker 3: of that drive is through cornfields. Most of that drive
- 20:17Speaker 3: is through agriculture and untouched land in a.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Lot of ways.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And the rumor is that Teresa made the comment to Gary, Wow,
- 20:27Speaker 3: look at all this beautiful untouched land. Think about what
- 20:30Speaker 3: could be done if they developed it condos, office buildings, apartments.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Think about the towns that could congregate in these open fields.
- 20:39Speaker 3: And think about the people that would be interested in
- 20:41Speaker 3: moving here, because look at that lake. There's a lake
- 20:44Speaker 3: with only cornfields around it. Think about if they build
- 20:46Speaker 3: up a resort where people could vacation too. And Gary's
- 20:50Speaker 3: comment back to her again a rumor was, you don't
- 20:55Speaker 3: take land from a farmer, And that was the star
- 21:00Speaker 3: of them realizing that they did not see the world
- 21:02Speaker 3: the same way.
- 21:03Speaker 6: That are you taking this story up for Chris specifically.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Storyteller. I'm can you keep going?
- 21:29Speaker 3: So this does have again, this is a rumored story
- 21:34Speaker 3: or rumored conversation that happened, and it did spark there.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And I don't know if there's a right and a
- 21:40Speaker 3: wrong here, Like I'm not I'm not picking a side.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I know how I would feel in this conversation. But Teresa,
- 21:47Speaker 3: being from the city, cees, you know, open land and goes, hey,
- 21:50Speaker 3: how cool would it be if there's a park there,
- 21:52Speaker 3: if there's a condo there, if there's people there. Gary,
- 21:56Speaker 3: being from the country says, you know what, Like that
- 22:00Speaker 3: to me is what that land needs to be used for.
- 22:02Speaker 3: That's what's beautiful. We don't take that land, we don't
- 22:05Speaker 3: develop that land. And this was a big start to
- 22:11Speaker 3: them disagreeing on how they saw the world and what
- 22:13Speaker 3: they imagine for the world and how they want to
- 22:16Speaker 3: invest into the world. And so Chris, if somebody were
- 22:20Speaker 3: to say this to you, how would you respond.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Probably someone has, but you know, I think there's a
- 22:31Speaker 4: I view that subject. I mean, there are I can
- 22:36Speaker 4: see both sides to that one hundred percent.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 4: I mean, there's there's areas that that would benefit from development,
- 22:42Speaker 4: there's economically it makes sense. But there's a ton of
- 22:46Speaker 4: land out there. Farmers have plenty of land to farm,
- 22:49Speaker 4: and sometimes there's some misconceptions that maybe there's a shortage,
- 22:54Speaker 4: but they're not making new of it any more new land.
- 22:57Speaker 4: So there's that, But it doesn't seem like something that
- 23:01Speaker 4: should interfere in a fundamental breakup of a relationship. I
- 23:06Speaker 4: would say, I think there's a happy medium that we
- 23:08Speaker 4: can all live with and have. Farmers can have their
- 23:11Speaker 4: land and we can we can sure build plenty of
- 23:13Speaker 4: condos near the cities or where they need to be,
- 23:16Speaker 4: So I don't think that should have resulted in a
- 23:19Speaker 4: But you know, each their own I guess. But I'm
- 23:24Speaker 4: pro pro development. I mean, I'm pro farmland, so we
- 23:27Speaker 4: just have to I'll work together.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Well.
- 23:30Speaker 3: The purpose of that story, Chris is to really ask,
- 23:32Speaker 3: would that be a detrimental conversation in coming from a farmer,
- 23:37Speaker 3: one of the most successful farmers in the Midwest, would
- 23:40Speaker 3: that be a conversation that would end a relationship for you?
- 23:43Speaker 2: And what you're saying is no, it wouldn't.
- 23:45Speaker 3: It would actually do you could find kind of both
- 23:48Speaker 3: ideas and you could walk through that conversation.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Well, yeah, now I would have definitely embrace that conversation.
- 23:55Speaker 4: I think it's, you know, coming from this majority of
- 23:58Speaker 4: people I meet are not farming people, So it's I'm
- 24:02Speaker 4: very accustomed to having those type of conversations just because
- 24:05Speaker 4: it is different. I mean, the one percent of the
- 24:07Speaker 4: population lest someone percent of the population actively farms. So
- 24:12Speaker 4: it's there's just a lot of unknowns out there, and
- 24:14Speaker 4: to be able to share them and help educate, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 4: people that aren't really familiar with agriculture and farmland. It's,
- 24:23Speaker 4: you know, he someone misunderstanding, misconceptions and misunderstandings about land
- 24:28Speaker 4: and what it should be used for and shouldn't. No. Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 4: it's a delicate thing because people get pretty strong emotions
- 24:34Speaker 4: about both sides of it.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Actually, you really think I just made up that story,
- 24:39Speaker 2: don't you.
- 24:40Speaker 6: I'm one, And this is where do you reveal it?
- 24:45Speaker 2: No, I did not make up that story.
- 24:47Speaker 6: That is here the story from.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I cannot I cannot talk about my sources. I have
- 24:52Speaker 3: sources that stay in and involved and they're everywhere, and.
- 24:55Speaker 5: So we're like planted this story in Ben's head because
- 24:59Speaker 5: they're like, this knows how to lie a little bit.
- 25:04Speaker 3: This is not this is not a lie. There is
- 25:06Speaker 3: no lying involved here. Now, Chris, to kind of close
- 25:10Speaker 3: up here. I know you and I had this conversation
- 25:13Speaker 3: a little bit at the wedding. I always got this sense,
- 25:17Speaker 3: and I don't know if it was coming from you
- 25:18Speaker 3: or coming from the public that coming off your time
- 25:22Speaker 3: as the Bachelor, there was always this hint or idea
- 25:25Speaker 3: in your head that you would be potentially leaving Iowa,
- 25:29Speaker 3: or maybe there was a curiosity about what would life
- 25:31Speaker 3: look like if you did leave Iowa. I always found
- 25:35Speaker 3: that interesting because you have such an investment in Iowa,
- 25:40Speaker 3: your family has such an investment in your town, you
- 25:43Speaker 3: have such a successful business being ran.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Out of that town.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I always thought it would be weird for you to,
- 25:51Speaker 3: you know, move, and you obviously haven't. You know, we're
- 25:54Speaker 3: years removed from you be on the show. You're still
- 25:57Speaker 3: in Iowa. Okay, So again, in a two part question,
- 26:01Speaker 3: were you ever actually considering considering leaving Iowa and where
- 26:06Speaker 3: do you stand today on that topic?
- 26:10Speaker 4: It's a good question, Ben, You know, I've never really
- 26:13Speaker 4: wanted to move from Iowa. It would be more or
- 26:17Speaker 4: less having a place. You know, a lot of farmers
- 26:20Speaker 4: do have second homes, like because it you know, usually
- 26:23Speaker 4: you're in a very remote area without much social life.
- 26:26Speaker 4: I mean it is an aspect of mental health to
- 26:28Speaker 4: have some social life because inherently farmland is located in
- 26:33Speaker 4: what areas. So having a place you know, where I
- 26:36Speaker 4: could you know, socialized, date or have a family in
- 26:40Speaker 4: near school systems that are you know, maybe have more
- 26:45Speaker 4: access to different types of education whatever. But yeah, just
- 26:48Speaker 4: from a lifet lifestyle perspective, having a second place has
- 26:51Speaker 4: always been a goal of mine. Actually to haven't accomplished
- 26:55Speaker 4: that yet, but some of those you know, things I
- 26:59Speaker 4: think will come. I do find a relationship that is
- 27:03Speaker 4: that works, you know, and and boways thought in my head, like,
- 27:06Speaker 4: you know, until you make that move to have, like
- 27:09Speaker 4: go invest in a second place, probably want to have
- 27:12Speaker 4: somebody else that's wanting to be there as well, or
- 27:14Speaker 4: maybe already there. So that's always been part of the
- 27:18Speaker 4: master plan, you know, just to whether I go out
- 27:21Speaker 4: and invest in a place and have an Airbnb somewhere
- 27:23Speaker 4: or something like that that I can visit. It's always
- 27:26Speaker 4: been something I wanted to do. I mean I've I've
- 27:30Speaker 4: gone down to Phoenix quite a bit in the wintertime,
- 27:32Speaker 4: and that's kind of a that's where my grandpa used
- 27:34Speaker 4: to overwinter. My parents are visiting Florida in the wintertime
- 27:37Speaker 4: stay out of the winter, so you know, just uh,
- 27:40Speaker 4: they call them snowbirds, and you know, like you get
- 27:43Speaker 4: out exactly, say if they get your parents were so
- 27:49Speaker 4: kind of that would be my you know, eventual goal
- 27:51Speaker 4: is to have but this will always be where my
- 27:54Speaker 4: roots are, where home is. I mean, yeah, it's crossed
- 27:57Speaker 4: my mind, and I've had tons of people wanting me
- 27:59Speaker 4: to move to l A or Hollywood and do that
- 28:02Speaker 4: sort of thing, and I just not me, you know,
- 28:07Speaker 4: and even no matter how you know, there's been enough
- 28:11Speaker 4: opportunity that I probably should have really considered doing it,
- 28:15Speaker 4: But I don't think i'd be happy you did.
- 28:17Speaker 6: For a little while before COVID.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I was out there for that was just
- 28:24Speaker 4: a little short stint and kind of doing some stuff
- 28:27Speaker 4: on the hemp, the hemp CBD oil deal we were
- 28:32Speaker 4: doing out there, and that was nice. It was enough
- 28:34Speaker 4: to know that it's still home. I can still remember
- 28:37Speaker 4: being when COVID is kicking in and we were starting
- 28:39Speaker 4: to get ready to plant corn, and uh, I was ready.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I was done with that part of my life.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Well, Chris, we are always rooting for you. We want
- 28:48Speaker 5: you to have a wife and kids, so we will.
- 28:52Speaker 5: If you're listening and email Ben and Ashley, it.

- 29:11Speaker 3: and filtering through his interest levels. So if you're out

- 29:18Speaker 3: He is open to dating. And I can tell you
- 29:20Speaker 3: this going to multiple dinners with Chris, He's going to
- 29:25Speaker 3: be a really good date. Like he's going to be
- 29:27Speaker 3: a lot of fun.
- 29:29Speaker 6: Yep, yes he is.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Well, I know who's the best dancer on this podcast
- 29:35Speaker 4: right now, it's all there is to it.
- 29:36Speaker 5: Well, this was the first wedding in a while or
- 29:39Speaker 5: ever that I didn't get the two of you dancing together. Oh,
- 29:43Speaker 5: because it's just it's foolishness that must be seen from everyone.
- 29:46Speaker 6: I was like, is you know Ben? Darn it?
- 29:50Speaker 5: I really should have made it a thing, not get
- 29:54Speaker 5: you on film. I'm like, it's so ordinary to me. Now,
- 29:57Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, there goes Ben dancing. And then everybody
- 30:00Speaker 5: like kind of like nudges me during a wedding and
- 30:01Speaker 5: they're like, if you've.
- 30:03Speaker 6: Seen Ben dans.
- 30:04Speaker 5: I'm like, yes, yes, his wife says that he goes
- 30:09Speaker 5: to bed alone those nights.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks good, it looks really good. It's a fantastic. Yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 3: it's so smooth. Everything just works in unison. Chris Soles,

- 31:35Speaker 3: you know, lives down the street and we're so happy.
- 31:38Speaker 3: But as of right now, he is very single and
