- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. Tonight,
- 0:05we're gonna jump right back in to the death of
- 0:07Jean lu Brunel and hopefully add a little more context.
- 0:12Since this guy has been found in his jail cell,
- 0:14there has been a ton of questions obviously about what happened,
- 0:20and since then we have gotten some information, but as usual,
- 0:24we don't have the full picture about what occurred. We
- 0:27don't know exactly what went down in that jail cell,
- 0:30so of course there's going to be a bunch of speculation.
- 0:34And from where I'm sitting here in the Peanut Gallery,
- 0:37I don't know how anyone can say one way or
- 0:40the other what went down here. There is just not
- 0:43enough there yet as far as information is concerned, for
- 0:46me anyway to come to a conclusion one way or
- 0:49the other. Like I explained on the other episode we
- 0:53did on Jean Luperunell the other day, it's different with
- 0:56the Epstein situation, considering all of the coincidences that led
- 1:01up to that, the fact that he was in that
- 1:03jail cell of Tartaglioni and the rest of it. Whereas
- 1:06here it just looks like this guy kind of timed
- 1:10it correctly right, knew when the guards were doing their
- 1:13rounds and was able to clip himself. And even in
- 1:17the Epstein case, I am more than willing to believe
- 1:22that he killed himself as well if the evidence is
- 1:25provided for me, that's the most important part, Right where
- 1:29is the evidence? Where does it lead us? I don't
- 1:31want to run around looking like some kind of Yahoo
- 1:33chasing my tail like a lot of these other people do.
- 1:36Who has time for that shit? This is already way
- 1:38too time consuming for me, never mind chasing down weird
- 1:42conspiracy theories all over the place. So I'll let other
- 1:45people do that, and I'll just chill here and remain
- 1:47agnostic and take the information as it comes and then
- 1:51process it and try and come up with a logical conclusion.
- 1:56So that's why it's so important to continue to add context,
- 1:59to continue to add even just if it's one little gem,
- 2:03got to add it to the catalog, because that could
- 2:05be the key to making everything more clearer. Right, So
- 2:09tonight that's what we're going to attempt to do. And
- 2:12unfortunately breaking news, we don't have any breaking news. That's
- 2:17not what I do here. I process the news, I
- 2:19curate the news and we discuss it. But what I
- 2:22try to do is add as much context as possible.
- 2:25That way, you folks are armed and prepared when the
- 2:29next article comes out or the next situation pops up.
- 2:32So with that said, why don't we jump into this
- 2:35article from twenty minutes over in France and let's see
- 2:39what author to t Bault Cheber and Philippe Berry have
- 2:46to say headline Epstein case the suicide of Jean lu
- 2:50Brunel end of the French part of the investigation. And
- 2:54you would think, right, look, it sounds bad. Oh that's
- 2:58the end of the investigation. But this is what happens
- 3:00when people die. You don't keep investigating them after they're dead.
- 3:04We learned that with Jeffrey Epstein, didn't we, So I
- 3:07would expect the same thing to be true here. Now.
- 3:10I don't know if that means the investigation is dead completely.
- 3:13In France, We'll have to continue to see what happens.
- 3:16But I don't know what else they have to go
- 3:18on over there, unless, of course they have something on
- 3:21Glenn Maxwell or Prince Andrew or something, then obviously they
- 3:25would keep the investigation open. But I'm not too sure
- 3:28what the process is over here as far as like,
- 3:31do they do the grand jury type deal or you know,
- 3:33I'm the laws are different everywhere, right, so there's all
- 3:37sorts of different nuances and minute details that come into play.
- 3:42So it'll be interesting to see if this is the
- 3:45end of their investigation in you know, completely, or if
- 3:50they'll there'll be some you know, side investigations. Perhaps the
- 3:56death of Jean Lou Brunel undoubtedly marks the end of
- 3:59the investigations in France concerning the Epstein case. Well, there
- 4:03you have it. That's the end of that. So Jean
- 4:06Luke Brunell obviously no longer going to be investigated in France,
- 4:10and according to this article, maybe not even any more
- 4:14investigations at all. For the investigators who have been working
- 4:18on this file for several months, it is a disappointment.
- 4:22It has to be, you know, you think about it.
- 4:24You're one of these cops, one of these honest cops
- 4:27that's out here that actually wants to make a difference,
- 4:29wants to bag and nab perpetrators like Maxwell and Brunell,
- 4:35put them in prison for the rest of their lives.
- 4:37And then they do that. They put him in prison,
- 4:39put him in jail, and while he's there in custody
- 4:42in their charge, he ends up dead. It has to
- 4:46be frustrating as hell. And you heard from a lot
- 4:49of the police officers who were involved in the original
- 4:53arrest of Jeffrey Epstein in Palm Beach they felt the
- 4:55same way. They were disgusted by all of it, the
- 5:00way it went down, and then obviously Jeffrey Epstein being
- 5:03able to kill himself while in their custody. The police
- 5:08of the Central Office for the Suppression of Violence against
- 5:11the Person spared no effort and carried out more than
- 5:14half a thousand hearings to try to find other women
- 5:17who were allegedly victims of the former French model agent. Wow,
- 5:21so they were pretty busy over here in France. According
- 5:24to this article, more than half a thousand, so more
- 5:27than five hundred hearings to try and find other women
- 5:30who are allegedly victims of Jean Lupurnau. That's pretty significant.
- 5:36I wonder what they came up with. I mean, I
- 5:39guess we'll never know if this investigation is going to end.
- 5:42I'm guessing they'll just ice it, probably never release it
- 5:46for public consumption. Again, I'm not too sure. Is there
- 5:50like a freedom of Information Act you can file over
- 5:52in France to get documentation or is it something that
- 5:56when the government says, look it's a rap, it's a rap.
- 5:59So we'll have to see what comes of it. But
- 6:03it is definitely disappointing. And if you think the investigators
- 6:07are disappointed, how do you think some of these survivors feel.
- 6:11And you can't say all of them, right, because some
- 6:14who maybe the statue of limitations has run out on them,
- 6:17or who weren't having their voices heard for whatever reason.
- 6:21I'm sure a lot of them are happy that the
- 6:23dude is dead. I know that's kind of crude to say,
- 6:26but it's the truth. If somebody wrongs you in such
- 6:30a way, it's only natural and it's only a human
- 6:34emotion for you to want to see them be hurt
- 6:37or punished in some way as well. When he hanged
- 6:43himself in his cell in the prison of Health last
- 6:46weekend in Paris, this close to the American billionaire Jeffrey
- 6:50Epstein was indicted for rape of two women when they
- 6:53were miners and for sexual harassment on a former babysitter.
- 6:57So again we know what he was in there for.
- 7:00I know the nature of the allegations against him, and
- 7:04in fact, I won't even call them allegations. That's how
- 7:07confident I am that this shit really happens. There's no
- 7:10gray area here, folks. Right when there's this many women
- 7:13who come out, this many people who come out, and
- 7:16the writing is on the wall, why even give these
- 7:19people the benefit of the doubt? They don't deserve it.
- 7:22People like him, people like Epstein, they do not deserve it.
- 7:27Accused of having played the touter for Jeffrey Epstein, Brunel
- 7:31was also placed under the intermediate status of assisted Witness
- 7:35for the facts of aggravated human trafficking to the detriment
- 7:39of minor victims for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Now
- 7:43let that settle in for a minute. Think about how
- 7:47heinous and disgusting of a excuse of a human being
- 7:51you have to be to engage in something like that,
- 7:55aggravated human trafficking to the detriment of minor victims for
- 7:59the purpose of se actual exploitation. There is not a
- 8:04hell hot enough for this dude to burn in in
- 8:06my opinion. But the police suspected Brunell above all of
- 8:12having abused in the nineteen eighties, many young women from
- 8:15modest backgrounds to whom he promised a career in modeling
- 8:19and modeling. And that's for sure, that was the moo.
- 8:22Him and Jeffrey Epstein both used that, And I wouldn't
- 8:25be surprised if Epstein took that right from Brunell's playbook.
- 8:31Let's not act like Brunell met Epstein and then all
- 8:33of a sudden became this predator and this sick fuck.
- 8:36These guys were a match made in heaven, right, perfect
- 8:38for each other, talk about fellow travelers and all. So
- 8:43they got together and it was perfect. Jeffrey Epstein he
- 8:48had the money, he had the means, he had the people,
- 8:51and Jean Lou Brunell, well, he had access to a
- 8:54bunch of vulnerable girls from war torn countries, developing countries.
- 8:59Place is where poverty is a everyday reality, and this
- 9:04dude had access to all of that and he used
- 9:07his power, he used his prestige to bring those girls
- 9:10into Jeffrey Epstein's orbit for all of them to abuse them. So, yeah,
- 9:15there is not a hell hot enough for this sick
- 9:17fuck to burn in in my opinion, the problem the
- 9:22facts denounced were often prescribed. We would have preferred him
- 9:25to be judged for all his work. It's obvious, confides
- 9:28a bitterly, confides bitterly a source close to the file
- 9:31who sees in his gesture a form of confession. Oh,
- 9:35I agree with that, there's no doubt. Look, of course
- 9:37you want you want to see this through, especially if
- 9:40you're one of the people who were abused. You want
- 9:42to stare this sick bastard down, and you want to
- 9:44know that he's going to prison, to rot away for
- 9:47the rest of his life. But short of that, at
- 9:51least this motherfucker ain't running around free. At least he's
- 9:54never going to hurt anybody ever again. And obviously anyone
- 9:58paying attention to the situation knows that this is an
- 10:01admission of guilt. An honest man doesn't do this, An
- 10:05honest man doesn't pay seventeen million dollars to somebody they
- 10:09don't know. Okay. Two previous suicide attempts since the beginning
- 10:17of the case. Jean lu Brunell, seventy five, claimed his innocence.
- 10:22Arrested in December twenty twenty at Charles de Gaulle Airport
- 10:25in Paris, as he was about to fly to Senegal.
- 10:28He was remanded in custody. Of course he said he
- 10:30was innocent. What's he going to say, not but I
- 10:32did it all. I think you guys should take me
- 10:34to whatever the worst prison we have in the country
- 10:37is and let me rot there. Of course he's going
- 10:39to say he didn't do anything. In fact, Jean lu
- 10:42Brunell was so brazen and had such a set on
- 10:44him that he even just tried to blame it all
- 10:46on Epstein. Oh, Epstein did this, Epstein did that, Epstein
- 10:50stole from me. YadA YadA, YadA. Notice when Epstein was alive,
- 10:54none of that shit was occurring, right, This guy is
- 10:58the ultimate scoundrel of the old mint coward. And for
- 11:02him to have previous suicide attempts while in custody here
- 11:07that really is strong evidence to me anyway that this
- 11:11third time was, you know, the successful time that he
- 11:15actually was able to make it work. On February nineteenth,
- 11:22at one point fifty am, guards found him hanged in
- 11:24the cell where he was alone. Despite the intervention of
- 11:27the rescuers, he was declared dead at two h five am.
- 11:31According to our information, during the fourteen months of his detention,
- 11:35Jean Luke Brunel had made two suicide attempts, and again
- 11:39I believe that that's a big part of the story here, right,
- 11:42and what is at least making me lean towards the
- 11:45fact that he probably did kill himself that end. Of course,
- 11:49if there was no one else in the cell with him,
- 11:50then it's a little difficult for him to have been
- 11:54clipped right now, if he was found poisoned in there
- 11:57or something, that's completely different. But unless somebody was crawling
- 12:00through an air vent. And again, look, I'm not gonna
- 12:03sit here and say it didn't happen. I have no
- 12:05idea to who I think it's likely. No, not at all.
- 12:08But until we have all of the evidence, Like usual,
- 12:14we have stressed on many occasions that he is in
- 12:16a very degraded state of health. An expert psychiatrist had
- 12:20indicated that there was a risk of particular psychological fragility
- 12:25in the event of prolonged detention. His lawyers, Mattias chich Portach,
- 12:30Mary Anne Abergail and Christoph Ingrain told twenty minutes, so, yeah,
- 12:36obviously right, and again look at the situation with Epstein,
- 12:41and then look over here at Brunel. Epstein's lawyers and
- 12:43everyone around him were saying a whole it was a
- 12:45whole different story. He wasn't depressed, he wasn't suicidal, He
- 12:49was nowhere near being suicidal, none of it. Whereas Jean
- 12:53lu Brunel and the people around him, including psychiatrists, are
- 12:57over here saying, yeah, dude wasn't right in the head.
- 13:00And he knew the writing was on the wall for
- 13:02this scumbag, and he knew that he was going to
- 13:05spend the rest of his life in prison, and the
- 13:09coward that he is, he couldn't take it. He couldn't
- 13:12take the fact that he'd have to own up to
- 13:14the abuse, and he certainly couldn't take the fact that
- 13:17he'd have to pay the price. Detained with other VIPs
- 13:22in the QB four ward for Low Quarter number four,
- 13:26Jean lu Brunel was the subject of a special supervision
- 13:29by the prison staff. In the event that a prisoner
- 13:32has already had suicidal crisis, it may be decided with
- 13:35the medical to set up a special supervision, explains Irwin Seyuti,
- 13:40delegate of the FO Prison Union of the Ill. De
- 13:43frant at Night will go more regularly to do a
- 13:46check with the islet to make sure that that person
- 13:49is well an average inmate, we will do three visual
- 13:52checks during the night. There will almost double number of controls.
- 13:57But you can't go there every hour either, because it
- 14:00also oppressive for the detainee. You have to find the
- 14:03right balance. Well, this is where I differ. If you're
- 14:07a detainee of high value and somebody who is being
- 14:10held and you're at risk of suicide or someone else
- 14:14hurting you or whatever, you should be under a constant supervision.
- 14:17And if that means a camera in yourself, so be it. Sorry,
- 14:22that's just the way it goes, because if not, we
- 14:24have ourselves a complete shit show. Right dude, you end
- 14:27up dead. Now. You got all kinds of weird, crazy
- 14:29theories going out there, the narratives thrown into the you know,
- 14:33the the washing machine, and it's a whole big problem.
- 14:36So why not just be more cautious and keep an
- 14:39eye on these types of people and then once they're
- 14:41convicted after their trial, then they can, you know, go
- 14:44back to having no camera in their cell, go live
- 14:47in general population. If that's what you want to do,
- 14:49I don't care. The second you're convicted, the second that
- 14:53it's all said and done and the state, the people,
- 14:58and the survivors themselves get justice. I don't care what
- 15:01happens to these people. They can go to prison and
- 15:04rot there for all I care. There is no rehabilitation
- 15:07for people like this when it comes to other crimes,
- 15:10just about any other crime. I'm all about being rehabilitated
- 15:15and prisons helping people get rehabilitated. But when you're hurting
- 15:18women and children and you're doing it in a careless
- 15:21manner the way Jean lu Brunel and Jeffrey Epstein were, yes, sorry,
- 15:25I don't give a fly, and fuck about you presumed guilty.
- 15:31An investigation entrusted to the third District of Judicial Police
- 15:35was opened by the Paris Prosecutor's office to shed light
- 15:38on the causes of his death. In particular, investigators can
- 15:42rely on the images of the surveillance cameras installed in
- 15:46the corridor to ensure that these checks have been carried out.
- 15:49So obviously they're gonna have to go through all of
- 15:51the tape. They probably have who knows, and they'll know
- 15:54if these guards were doing their due diligence or if
- 15:57they were sleeping like the guards were, Who are supposed
- 15:59to be watching Epstein, and we'll get more information obviously
- 16:04as it comes out, but so far it seems like
- 16:07they were on their game and they were doing their checks.
- 16:10At least. The results of the autopsy, which was carried
- 16:14out on Monday, are not yet known, although there is
- 16:17almost no doubt that Jean Luke Brunel ended his life alone. Again,
- 16:22if there was no one in that cell, it's going
- 16:24to be a hard cell to get me to believe it, right,
- 16:29I you know, how did someone kill him? If there's
- 16:31no one else in that cell? And if there's video
- 16:35evidence that no one was in or out, all right, well,
- 16:37it's a lot more believable then the bullshit they're trying
- 16:40to pump about Epstein. No, and again I'm not saying
- 16:43that I do believe that this happened. I don't know.
- 16:45Let me see the video myself. At this point, That's
- 16:48where I'm at. According to his lawyers, the man felt
- 16:54that he was presumed guilty and that the media judicial
- 16:57sentence had already fallen nothing justify prison anymore. According to
- 17:01the Judge of Freedoms and Detention, and Detention judicial review
- 17:05would have been the simple and strict application of the
- 17:07law in cases like this. They add, well, look, dude,
- 17:11you don't want to go to prison, and you're depressed
- 17:13because you're in prison. Here's an idea. Don't molest, don't rape,
- 17:17and don't sexually assault people. Then you don't have to
- 17:19worry about going to prison. And as far as being
- 17:22found guilty before bro decades of evidence, plenty of people
- 17:26coming forward. This is in gray area, he said. She said,
- 17:30one person coming forward, you know, no evidence to back
- 17:33it up, none of that. At his request, Jean Luke
- 17:39Brunel was to be confronted on March eleventh with two
- 17:41of his accusers, a former babysitter and a foreign model.
- 17:45I didn't think my clients would consent to the confrontation
- 17:48because I know that psychologically it was quite complex. We
- 17:52had started working on it and they wanted to go
- 17:54to the end of the process, pass the course and
- 17:57be in the same room as him. It's not easy,
- 17:59he says. They're lawlawyer and Claire Lejeune. So you have
- 18:02two of the people who were accusing him, were preparing
- 18:05to confront him in this jail over this these allegations,
- 18:10and with that date quickly approaching, well, you know, it's
- 18:16a real shame. The death of Jean Luke Brunell means
- 18:19the extinction of public action, at least in the part
- 18:22concerning the rape accusations. The same could apply to the
- 18:26part of the case concerning acts of trafficking and human beings,
- 18:29unless other persons were to be implicated, which for the
- 18:33time being is not the case. So again, like we
- 18:37asked at the beginning, is this the end of the
- 18:39case in France? And it certainly looks to be that
- 18:41way of folks. For the plaintiffs, it is a feeling
- 18:47of frustration that dominates. Brunell will never have the opportunity
- 18:51to explain himself in court. He was still indicted and
- 18:54remanded in custody. My clients are aware that their words
- 18:57has still been taken into consideration, says Anne Claire Lejeune,
- 19:01before concluding there was a will that went beyond their
- 19:05own interest. They did so for those who denounced prescribed facts,
- 19:10there was something quite strong in their approach. It's a
- 19:13real shame and it is and we've seen it how
- 19:15many times now as far as the Epstein case goes.
- 19:19We just saw it with the Supreme Court acting like
- 19:21a bunch of morons not taking this case. We see
- 19:24it here. I mean, you just see it over and
- 19:26over and over again, the lack of justice. And what's
- 19:30so galling about it is all of these people were
- 19:33right there for the federal government to swoop up, for
- 19:36the federal government to punish, and instead they had better
- 19:40things to do, obviously, so people like Epstein and Brunel
- 19:44and Maxwell were able to go on for decades, literally decades,
- 19:48and abuse people. Finally he gets arrested and it's almost
- 19:53time for justice, and this son of a bitch somehow
- 19:56wiggles off the hook once again. Oh there you have it, folks,
- 20:01a little more context for the death of Jean lu
- 20:03Brunel as much as we have anyway, and I figure
- 20:06the best way to do it is go directly to
- 20:08the source in France and uh, you know, follow the
- 20:11story right along with them. So that's what we'll continue
- 20:14to do here, and we'll continue to add nuggets as
- 20:17they pop up. But one thing is for sure, there
- 20:20is still a lot of questions that need to be answered,
- 20:22and there are still, unfortunately a lot of curveballs coming
- 20:27our way. That's gonna do it. For tonight's episode, obviously
- 20:32some context episodes on their way. Tomorrow morning, be right
- 20:36back at it bright and early, and we'll see where
- 20:38we're at. If you'd like to contact me, you can
