- 0:42Speaker 3: Enjoy the show.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:15Speaker 2: More cooling in the containment chamber.
- 1:17Speaker 4: To your stations.
- 1:17Speaker 5: We have a movie about to happen.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Conference.
- 1:21Speaker 6: Conference, then?
- 1:22Speaker 1: Conference, then. Oh, no, you wouldn't.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Oh, yes, I would.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Ah.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Dead conference.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Click here to disconnect.
- 1:29Speaker 7: What's up, and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I am Brian. I'm Misty. I'm Jay.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And we're coming to you live via the internet.
- 1:48Speaker 8: Wow, this is awful.
- 1:50Speaker 1: This is simultaneously coming to you from the Oddity Studios
- 1:54Speaker 1: and the Bastion of Awesomeness.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And my bunker.
- 1:59Speaker 8: He's in his own room, so we figured it'd be
- 2:00Speaker 8: better there wouldn't be any feedback or whatever.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I mean, aren't you always segmented in your own areas anyway, really?
- 2:08Speaker 2: No, not usually.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Just on different devices.
- 2:13Speaker 8: Yeah, we're practicing the social distancing.
- 2:15Speaker 7: At this moment.
- 2:16Speaker 4: In your own home.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I'm in the weapons room.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I'm sitting on a pile of toilet paper and sardines.
- 2:28Speaker 8: Sardines are the worst.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Sardines are good.
- 2:31Speaker 8: I was waiting to see how long.
- 2:34Speaker 2: You'd jump on that one. They're really good for you.
- 2:38Speaker 1: They will help you survive into this apocalypse.
- 2:40Speaker 8: Doesn't make them less nasty.
- 2:42Speaker 2: When everybody else is grabbing the cans of Dinty more and,
- 2:48Speaker 2: you know, the other shit, go for the sardines.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It was all soup when I went to the grocery.
- 2:53Speaker 1: There was no soup left. They cleaned that out like
- 2:55Speaker 1: the first week.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: What's wrong with you?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Soup and then beans and then everything else.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Who wants to be sitting in their bunker eating beans?
- 3:03Speaker 8: And all farty and shit.
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's why they need all that toilet paper.
- 3:08Speaker 8: I went to the grocery today and it wasn't that bad.
- 3:10Speaker 8: There was even some toilet paper on the shelves.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Okay, that's crazy because it's been two weeks since I've seen.
- 3:16Speaker 7: Any of that.
- 3:16Speaker 8: It wasn't a lot. So I didn't like go run
- 3:19Speaker 8: people over. There was only like maybe like six to
- 3:21Speaker 8: ten rolls of toilet paper.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Did you punch out an old lady?
- 3:25Speaker 8: I wouldn't be the first time. But for the most part,
- 3:28Speaker 8: I mean, I grabbed my beans. Pinto and Great Northern
- 3:31Speaker 8: because I like my Pinto and Great Northern beans. But,
- 3:34Speaker 8: I mean, there was soup. Meat was fully stocked.
- 3:38Speaker 1: It's gotten better in the last week or two.
- 3:40Speaker 8: For now.
- 3:41Speaker 2: For now.
- 3:41Speaker 8: I've heard it's going to get worse, but that's okay.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Well, that's what I thought in this weird scenario. As
- 3:49Speaker 1: you know, in years past, I've not normally been a
- 3:52Speaker 1: big internet phone, whatever. People record like their entire show
- 3:57Speaker 1: is done that way. I was always like, eh.
- 4:00Speaker 8: They go through this shit every time.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. It seems like it's just so much...
- 4:05Speaker 1: It just works better to me if you're in the
- 4:08Speaker 1: same room and there's a whole normal conversation going on. But...
- 4:14Speaker 1: The world being what it is now, we don't have
- 4:16Speaker 1: that option. So I thought if nothing else, this would
- 4:22Speaker 1: be kind of an interesting, like instead of trying to
- 4:24Speaker 1: do like sort of a regular episode, we know this
- 4:27Speaker 1: isn't regular. So like, we'll just lean into it and
- 4:30Speaker 1: we'll just do like, we'll check in with the people
- 4:33Speaker 1: from the meltdown gang and we'll be like, so what's
- 4:36Speaker 1: going on in your crazy quarantine world?
- 4:39Speaker 8: Well, I miss bookstores. I'll tell you that right now.
- 4:43Speaker 8: As much as I hate people, I like going places.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. You do go out into the world.
- 4:49Speaker 1: For somebody who's as antisocial as you are, you like
- 4:52Speaker 1: your trips.
- 4:54Speaker 8: I like road trips. I like bookstores. I like adventures.
- 4:56Speaker 8: I fucking hate people. And this being at home, let
- 4:59Speaker 8: me tell you, dude, I like... We did yard work?
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm getting so much stuff done, it's crazy. It's stupid.
- 5:07Speaker 8: You see, boyfriend is digging us. He loves staying home. I.
- 5:13Speaker 8: Hate this shit i we did yard work one weekend
- 5:16Speaker 8: gross nightmare nightmare trees were cut down there was there
- 5:24Speaker 8: was blackberry bushes and they were not awesome this.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Is why i avoid yards i got rid of it
- 5:30Speaker 1: i didn't well i mean it wasn't really an option
- 5:32Speaker 1: but you know i i'm not out doing any working
- 5:34Speaker 1: and i can tell you that.
- 5:36Speaker 8: And then then i washed windows wait windows wait What?
- 5:43Speaker 8: What the hell's going on here?
- 5:45Speaker 2: Windows.
- 5:47Speaker 1: What is wrong with you?
- 5:48Speaker 2: The windows on our house have never been washed.
- 5:53Speaker 8: I can actually see out of them.
- 5:54Speaker 1: See, I feel like I'm going the other direction. I'm like, well,
- 5:57Speaker 1: nobody's coming over. What's the point of cleaning any of
- 6:00Speaker 1: this shit up?
- 6:00Speaker 8: I moved a brick.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I have a brick. It's a really cool brick.
- 6:07Speaker 8: Well, we had a stepping stone in front of the
- 6:09Speaker 8: house that was kind of a death trap because... It
- 6:12Speaker 8: was like on a slanty little part of the yard.
- 6:15Speaker 8: And if you step on it wrong, it went sliding.
- 6:17Speaker 8: And I'm just like, I don't fucking fix this brick.
- 6:20Speaker 8: Somebody is going to come up our walk and do
- 6:22Speaker 8: a face plant in one of the other bricks. And
- 6:24Speaker 8: then we're going to be sued. So I panic in.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Our fucking yard anyways.
- 6:30Speaker 1: By somebody, you mean you, right? It's just a matter
- 6:33Speaker 1: of time. And it would be you face planting.
- 6:35Speaker 8: Yeah, I was the one almost face planting that one time.
- 6:38Speaker 8: But I figured some hapless male delivery person. Would be
- 6:41Speaker 8: bringing one of my fucking mini ordered from China fucking
- 6:45Speaker 8: Baby Yodas and like lose part of their face.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I know that's a real thing.
- 6:51Speaker 8: Yeah, I got one the other day. Don't worry.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Does it look all wonky and shit?
- 6:57Speaker 8: It's not too bad. He's kind of cute. All right.
- 7:00Speaker 8: As soon as he came out of the package, he
- 7:01Speaker 8: got Lysoled and then... Because he was.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Infected with an imported disease.
- 7:06Speaker 8: I'm just saying in general, I don't... Any... I haven't
- 7:11Speaker 8: gotten any packages really since this whole thing started. So
- 7:14Speaker 8: anything that I get, I've also got some T-shirts. Those
- 7:18Speaker 8: went directly in the mail or into the car. I
- 7:21Speaker 8: can't even talk.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Into the laundry.
- 7:23Speaker 8: So stuff is, yeah. Not specifically because he's Chinese. Because
- 7:28Speaker 8: that would be racist.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I only got one thing since this started, but I
- 7:35Speaker 1: was just kind of like, I opened the box. I
- 7:36Speaker 1: was like, well, I'm infected now. So whatever I am.
- 7:40Speaker 1: going to play with my toys.
- 7:42Speaker 8: I live in a land of boxes. If anybody's going
- 7:45Speaker 8: to get it, it's going to be me.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I come in contact with a lot of sketchy people.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So I'm also pretty high up on the going to.
- 7:53Speaker 6: Get it list.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I don't know where I'm at.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're even when you're out in the world, you quarantine
- 8:00Speaker 1: yourself away from people. So you're probably the safest of
- 8:03Speaker 1: the bunch.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I work pretty much by myself.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And if they try to come near you, you have
- 8:10Speaker 1: an open flame going.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 8: And I'm wearing a respirator.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Keeps people at bay.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I wear a respirator.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That's where they went.
- 8:19Speaker 2: All day at work. Yeah, I have a special respirator.
- 8:23Speaker 8: Special.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Special.
- 8:26Speaker 8: Well, if the virus don't get you, you might get
- 8:30Speaker 8: shot instead.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Oh, well, whatever. I assumed that was going to happen anyway. So,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I figured we'd return to our classic, a segment that's
- 8:41Speaker 1: been there since the beginning of this show. We do
- 8:44Speaker 1: Geek Activities Quarantine Edition.
- 8:48Speaker 8: So, what have you been watching?
- 8:50Speaker 1: We've watched so many TV shows.
- 8:52Speaker 2: A lot of TV shows.
- 8:54Speaker 8: All the TV shows. Should we go in any kind
- 8:58Speaker 8: of order, or do you want to go first?
- 9:00Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Just go ahead and go whatever.
- 9:02Speaker 8: My list is on the table.
- 9:06Speaker 7: Give me a list.
- 9:07Speaker 8: I mean, how many do you want me to go through?
- 9:08Speaker 8: Because we've watched a lot of stuff.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Just go through all of them, but go through them quickly. Okay.
- 9:15Speaker 7: I got my list.
- 9:16Speaker 8: We watched Castle Rock Season 2. I can't remember if
- 9:19Speaker 8: we got to that before the quarantine started or not.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I think you mentioned starting it. I don't know if
- 9:24Speaker 1: we got to Season 2, though.
- 9:26Speaker 8: We did Season 2. Season 2... I don't know. It
- 9:32Speaker 8: focuses more on the Andy Wiltz character from the Season
- 9:34Speaker 8: 2 universe. There's some wonky shit going on in there.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's Stephen King universe. Of course there is.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it was interesting, though. I thought it was kind
- 9:44Speaker 2: of interesting.
- 9:46Speaker 8: I liked it. Yeah, there's a lot going on. There's
- 9:50Speaker 8: got Tim Robbins is in it, whether you like him
- 9:54Speaker 8: or not.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Most people I feel like like Tim Robbins. It's just
- 9:57Speaker 1: it's funny. We haven't seen a ton of them and then.
- 9:59Speaker 1: like in the last couple of years, he's made like a,
- 10:02Speaker 1: a resurgence into like, all right, fine. I'll act in
- 10:04Speaker 1: some stuff. What do you got?
- 10:07Speaker 8: So I figure he was in Shawshank redemption. So I
- 10:09Speaker 8: guess he could kind of pull the whole Stephen King
- 10:11Speaker 8: pulling it back around thing, but he doesn't already part
- 10:14Speaker 8: of the universe.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 8: Um, So yeah, it's one of the Amy Wilkes character,
- 10:20Speaker 8: her growing up story. Then it throws in some other
- 10:23Speaker 8: shit with some like, what are they? They're like creatures
- 10:28Speaker 8: that are in the ground that are ghosts that are
- 10:32Speaker 8: re animating bodies.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I was like, is this like pet cemetery creatures?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Kind of something like that.
- 10:41Speaker 8: Well, it's one of those things where like, apparently this,
- 10:44Speaker 8: the people that were there, like, Is it 150 years ago?
- 10:48Speaker 8: I lost track of the time frame because it's been
- 10:50Speaker 8: a while since we've actually watched it. They were buried
- 10:52Speaker 8: in the ground in this very specific spot and then
- 10:55Speaker 8: when she fucking unearthed the hole, they start coming back
- 11:01Speaker 8: alive in new people's bodies. So it's the people from
- 11:06Speaker 8: old time land and then they're coming into new bodies
- 11:09Speaker 8: and trying to take over the world. It's complicated.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It happens. It's the apocalypse.
- 11:16Speaker 8: Let's see. I'm not going to talk too much about
- 11:18Speaker 8: each one because we watched a lot of things and
- 11:20Speaker 8: we'll probably spend more time on more things. When we
- 11:25Speaker 8: get to what we're currently watching, we'll probably talk more
- 11:27Speaker 8: about that one. We watched The Witcher. Did I bitch
- 11:31Speaker 8: about that one yet?
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't think so. It's been a while for you guys.
- 11:36Speaker 7: The Witcher.
- 11:37Speaker 8: I was so disappointed. I really wanted to like it
- 11:40Speaker 8: because Henry Cavill. I don't know how to say his
- 11:44Speaker 8: last name.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Cavill? whatever new superman yeah i don't like him as
- 11:48Speaker 1: superman i.
- 11:50Speaker 8: Don't like him as superman either that's kind of why
- 11:51Speaker 8: i went in kind of kind of leery but he
- 11:54Speaker 8: has his shirt off a lot and that part of
- 11:57Speaker 8: cutting shit you know he is he's he's he's ripped
- 12:00Speaker 8: like jesus.
- 12:01Speaker 1: They don't just let anybody be superman i kind.
- 12:03Speaker 8: Of think they will i mean i.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Like brandon ralph shut up actually i didn't when he
- 12:09Speaker 1: was superman now that he's like super dorky and stuff
- 12:12Speaker 1: like i.
- 12:13Speaker 8: Totally like i love I like Dylan dog. Not going
- 12:15Speaker 8: to lie. Dylan dog was funny.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Even on legends. And I think legends is a train
- 12:19Speaker 1: wreck of a show, but like, he's always enjoyable on it.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I'm like, damn, I can't not like that guy now.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So he's, it's common full circle.
- 12:27Speaker 8: But yeah, the witcher was such a, what the fuck
- 12:29Speaker 8: are we even watching? Cause they don't, I never played
- 12:33Speaker 8: the game. Boyfriend didn't play the game. So I didn't
- 12:35Speaker 8: get reference from him as to what the fuck was
- 12:37Speaker 8: going on. So when you start watching it and it
- 12:38Speaker 8: takes you like three episodes before you realize there's, three
- 12:42Speaker 8: different timelines going on and you're like, oh, okay. Cause
- 12:46Speaker 8: when you get three episodes in, you're like, wait a second.
- 12:48Speaker 8: Those people died two episodes ago. If they just kept it.
- 12:51Speaker 2: To him slaying monsters, it would have been fine.
- 12:55Speaker 8: That's the thing for a show about somebody who is
- 12:58Speaker 8: a monster slayer. There is rarely, rarely monsters.
- 13:02Speaker 1: That seems like an oversight.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Really?
- 13:04Speaker 8: There's like three in the entire fucking series. The whole
- 13:08Speaker 8: point of this thing is there's a witch. Who starts
- 13:11Speaker 8: off as... Huh?
- 13:14Speaker 2: A witch or a witch-er? A witch.
- 13:16Speaker 8: There's a witch. Isn't that Yennefer?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yennefer.
- 13:20Speaker 7: Let me start it.
- 13:21Speaker 8: I'm sorry. If your name is Yennefer, that is the
- 13:23Speaker 8: ugliest fucking name.
- 13:26Speaker 6: Sorry, Yennefer.
- 13:29Speaker 2: They stuff cotton in her mouth to make her look
- 13:31Speaker 2: like she's deformed.
- 13:33Speaker 8: Godfather style.
- 13:34Speaker 1: You can tell she's the hot chick.
- 13:39Speaker 8: But yeah, eventually she's hot. Because the whole point, they
- 13:42Speaker 8: make a point early on in the series, he's a witcher.
- 13:45Speaker 8: That's what he does. He's not an emotional person. He
- 13:49Speaker 8: doesn't fall in love. He's not attached to people. And then, goddammit,
- 13:54Speaker 8: as soon as he sees her, that's all he does
- 13:56Speaker 8: is sit and moon over her. And I'm just like,
- 13:58Speaker 8: what the fuck.
- 13:59Speaker 7: Are you doing?
- 14:01Speaker 2: He follows her around everywhere.
- 14:03Speaker 8: It's kind of sad. Dude, if you're a badass monster-hunting
- 14:09Speaker 8: witcher guy then get over this shit go find you
- 14:13Speaker 8: some demons to hunt monster to kill whatever get over
- 14:17Speaker 8: this chick she's kind of a cunt move on.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Oh all right well there you go that wraps it up.
- 14:24Speaker 8: Well i'm serious she's not worth the effort then again
- 14:28Speaker 8: she did have nice teeth which by the time frame
- 14:30Speaker 8: they should be in that might be a commodity.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I mean that's unheard of if we're going back in
- 14:36Speaker 1: time and hell, even now with a lot of people.
- 14:38Speaker 8: That was one of my complaints about the show because
- 14:40Speaker 8: I was sitting there watching and I'm like, you know what?
- 14:42Speaker 8: Everybody in this fucking show has really nice teeth. I
- 14:44Speaker 8: am not buying the authenticity of this reality one bit because.
- 14:48Speaker 2: No.
- 14:49Speaker 1: It's only so authentic you can go or that people
- 14:52Speaker 1: will even look at.
- 14:55Speaker 8: Everybody had nice teeth. Not realistic. Let's see. What else
- 15:01Speaker 8: did we watch? Oh, my lands. We watched Lock and Key.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I've heard a minor version of a take. What was yours?
- 15:11Speaker 2: I liked that.
- 15:13Speaker 8: I really liked it.
- 15:13Speaker 2: It was pretty cool.
- 15:15Speaker 8: I had no, like, nothing going into it. I never
- 15:18Speaker 8: read the graphic novels.
- 15:19Speaker 7: Yeah, me neither. I saw a trailer for it. It
- 15:23Speaker 7: was one of those lists of, hey, here's a list
- 15:26Speaker 7: of shows you should be watching.
- 15:27Speaker 8: And I'm a goddamn sucker. I am a sheep. You
- 15:31Speaker 8: tell me I should be watching something. I might watch it.
- 15:34Speaker 8: Unless you get really persistent. unless you get really persistent
- 15:36Speaker 8: because we're still fighting the tiger King.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Every I'm just, I've heard too much already. Like the
- 15:45Speaker 1: week it came out, I was like, shut up everybody.
- 15:47Speaker 7: Just shut up.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 15:50Speaker 8: But yeah, back to the walking key. I, I think
- 15:52Speaker 8: they did, they did renew it for a second season.
- 15:56Speaker 8: So that one I'm excited about.
- 15:58Speaker 7: All right.
- 15:59Speaker 8: There was so much going on in that one. And
- 16:01Speaker 8: there was, it was very interesting. It wasn't one that
- 16:03Speaker 8: I'd ever, it wasn't something, That I've seen a billion times.
- 16:08Speaker 1: That's good, because it's hard to come up with those
- 16:10Speaker 1: original ideas in this world.
- 16:13Speaker 8: I did have the annoying kid who always wants to
- 16:15Speaker 8: be involved in shit. When I'm like, you're a fucking child.
- 16:18Speaker 8: Calm down. You just go sit there and play with
- 16:21Speaker 8: your Legos.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Hey, that's what I'm doing. Hold on. Just built a
- 16:26Speaker 1: whole new area in my post-apocalyptic Lego world.
- 16:29Speaker 8: Do you have the apocalypse laying in your Legos?
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm still making payments on apocalypse. apocalypse berg if you were.
- 16:37Speaker 7: Your little figures have little lego masks.
- 16:40Speaker 1: On i see i didn't in the old days i
- 16:43Speaker 1: thought these are stupid what am i gonna make all
- 16:45Speaker 1: of them doctors or something that's not going on in
- 16:47Speaker 1: my world now i kind of wish i would have
- 16:49Speaker 1: grabbed a few of those but now mine all they
- 16:51Speaker 1: have masks on but they're like big metal masks.
- 16:53Speaker 7: Because now they've already been swiped up.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah well i mean now we're all like in well
- 16:58Speaker 1: post-apocalyptic so they're not busy fighting off whatever it is
- 17:01Speaker 1: now they're fighting each other so they've got like big
- 17:03Speaker 1: metal mask on As they like shoot a blowtorch at
- 17:07Speaker 1: the other one's face. And have a sword.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And yeah.
- 17:09Speaker 1: So mine are like Mad Max level. They're well beyond it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: So yes they're a mask. But not those kind of masks.
- 17:16Speaker 7: But yes. I would recommend Walking King.
- 17:19Speaker 8: It's very good.
- 17:21Speaker 1: And still sort of Stephen King ish. It's an offshoot
- 17:24Speaker 1: of his land.
- 17:25Speaker 7: Because isn't his son right?
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yep. The son like was at least co-writer on the
- 17:30Speaker 1: graphic novel. So yep. It's semi-related. Literally related.
- 17:35Speaker 8: It's not like a scary thing. It's more like... I'm
- 17:39Speaker 8: not even sure what genre it would really fit into.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Supernatural fantasy.
- 17:42Speaker 1: There you go.
- 17:43Speaker 8: I don't know if you know the basic concept of
- 17:46Speaker 8: a family that moves into a house after their dad
- 17:48Speaker 8: gets murdered, and they start finding these keys, and these
- 17:51Speaker 8: keys can open special doors, not only in stuff, but
- 17:56Speaker 8: in your head.
- 17:57Speaker 1: That can be trouble, opening up your head.
- 18:01Speaker 8: Well, one of the keys.
- 18:03Speaker 7: I don't think I'm spoiling anything. You put the key
- 18:04Speaker 7: in the back of your head, turn it, and it
- 18:06Speaker 7: takes you inside your own head so you can remember
- 18:09Speaker 7: all of your memories. You can watch your memories.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Hmm. I wanted to hook up a VCR to my
- 18:15Speaker 1: brain and catch dreams that way, but it's the closest
- 18:18Speaker 1: I've gotten.
- 18:19Speaker 8: That would be pretty weird. But I do have stupid-ass dreams,
- 18:22Speaker 8: and most of my dreams involve boyfriend being an asshole,
- 18:24Speaker 8: so I'm not really sure.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Are you sure these are dreams?
- 18:27Speaker 5: That's what I said!
- 18:29Speaker 2: But, uh.
- 18:30Speaker 8: But yeah, that one has been renewed, so I'm excited
- 18:33Speaker 8: about that one. The next one we watch has already
- 18:35Speaker 8: been canceled, so I'm kind of aggravated about that because
- 18:38Speaker 8: it had a really good concept and didn't get to
- 18:39Speaker 8: go all the way with it because we started watching
- 18:42Speaker 8: October Faction.
- 18:43Speaker 1: All right. I saw it listed of the many things
- 18:46Speaker 1: out there that I don't have time to watch.
- 18:50Speaker 8: It's a family of the mom and dad are like
- 18:54Speaker 8: monster hunting CIA agents. It's not really the CIA, but
- 18:58Speaker 8: they work for some branch of the.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I like the idea. I don't like the cast.
- 19:04Speaker 1: That can be a problem.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 8: Well, my favorite cast member wasn't in it very much
- 19:09Speaker 8: because Stephen McHattie's in that, and I adore Stephen McHattie.
- 19:12Speaker 8: But again, he's in a show where they don't fully
- 19:14Speaker 8: utilize his character.
- 19:16Speaker 7: We'll get more into that one in a couple more.
- 19:20Speaker 2: For the analysts.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I mean, even on this show, we didn't fully embrace
- 19:26Speaker 1: him as a character, but that was his own doing.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yeah. He's old.
- 19:31Speaker 7: What do you want?
- 19:33Speaker 1: That was another weird run in over the years. But
- 19:36Speaker 1: we haven't gone into that officially on the show. So
- 19:39Speaker 1: we'll leave it at that. He seemed like a very
- 19:40Speaker 1: nice man.
- 19:42Speaker 8: Well, yeah, it's like I said, the show's really good.
- 19:44Speaker 8: It's about a mother and dad. They have to they
- 19:46Speaker 8: keep getting transferred to different locations where they're. are spikes
- 19:51Speaker 8: in activity from different kinds of monsters. I mean, they
- 19:54Speaker 8: have all these different creatures, like everything, like vampires and
- 19:59Speaker 8: all different kinds of creatures that they have to fight
- 20:03Speaker 8: while bringing along their two teenage kids who at the
- 20:05Speaker 8: beginning have no idea what the fuck's going on. They
- 20:08Speaker 8: think their parents are insurance elements people.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Is this bad parenting? I don't know.
- 20:14Speaker 7: Well, by the.
- 20:15Speaker 8: End, the parents finally had to fess up to a
- 20:17Speaker 8: lot of shit, and I was kind of looking forward
- 20:20Speaker 8: to where it was going to go in the second season,
- 20:22Speaker 8: and it's already canceled. So, that sucks.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I mean, most shows get canceled immediately now. That's just
- 20:28Speaker 1: kind of how stuff works.
- 20:30Speaker 8: Yeah, which brings us to the next thing we watched,
- 20:32Speaker 8: which also got canceled.
- 20:36Speaker 7: We watched Daybreak. Have you heard anything about Daybreak?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Not really. Not as a series.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I enjoyed it. I think the writing was pretty good.
- 20:47Speaker 7: It was... Again, it's one of those based on a
- 20:50Speaker 7: graphic novel. I think.
- 20:53Speaker 8: But I don't know who wrote it. Again, it's an
- 20:56Speaker 8: apocalypse show. Because apparently there's a nuclear explosion that wiped
- 21:01Speaker 8: out the entire world of adults.
- 21:05Speaker 1: It didn't kill them. It mutated them.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And they turn into these rabid, like, almost like zombies.
- 21:15Speaker 1: But not kids. I think I did see the trailer
- 21:17Speaker 1: for this.
- 21:18Speaker 7: Yeah, the teenagers and kids are still alive. And they've
- 21:22Speaker 7: created their own cliques, much like school, but in the
- 21:25Speaker 7: real world. So you have your jocks as a group.
- 21:30Speaker 7: You have your cheerleaders, the Shirazans or something like that,
- 21:34Speaker 7: because they're badass.
- 21:35Speaker 8: Like, They've turned into Amazon Warriors.
- 21:41Speaker 2: It's like Mad Max meets Breakfast Club.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It's like the entire lunchroom table breakdown only for the world.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much.
- 21:50Speaker 8: You have the golfers because they don't really fit in
- 21:53Speaker 8: with the job.
- 21:54Speaker 1: That's kind of true.
- 21:56Speaker 8: The whole thing is one of the main guy who
- 22:01Speaker 8: was so confusing to me because he played young Sam
- 22:08Speaker 8: on Supernatural. But now I can't, for the life of me,
- 22:12Speaker 8: I can't remember what his name was on this, but
- 22:13Speaker 8: then his girlfriend on the show was Sam Dean, which
- 22:15Speaker 8: is both characters from Supernatural.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Too many Deans and Sams. And I can't watch any shows.
- 22:22Speaker 1: They're all, they cross over too much.
- 22:24Speaker 8: But anyways, yeah, it's like he doesn't really fit into
- 22:26Speaker 8: any group. So he's, his whole thing is right before
- 22:29Speaker 8: the explosion, him and the girl, Sam Dean, and it
- 22:33Speaker 8: got into a fight. And he wanted to make things
- 22:36Speaker 8: up and wanted to, you know, get back together with her.
- 22:40Speaker 8: But right when he's trying to go find her is
- 22:42Speaker 8: when this fucking nuclear bomb explodes, takes out everywhere. And
- 22:45Speaker 8: he has no idea where she is. So he spends
- 22:47Speaker 8: the entire season trying to find her. And it's, first
- 22:53Speaker 8: of all, I think she's dead because people kind of
- 22:55Speaker 8: lie to him, but it's, it's funny.
- 22:59Speaker 7: It's all I got. It's funny.
- 23:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It looked pretty well done for what it was. I
- 23:06Speaker 1: do remember the trailer now that you were describing it.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, yeah, I watched that. And I
- 23:09Speaker 1: was like, if I had time, this looks interesting.
- 23:13Speaker 8: It's very breaking the fourth wall constantly. He's constantly talking
- 23:17Speaker 8: to you, telling you things about what's going on.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Referencing other movies.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I mean, we need somebody to walk us through stuff
- 23:24Speaker 1: most of the time, really.
- 23:25Speaker 7: And he does.
- 23:27Speaker 8: But yeah, that's funny. I liked that. That was enjoyable.
- 23:30Speaker 8: Of course, it got canceled because I liked it.
- 23:32Speaker 1: That's exactly why. There was a board meeting somewhere and
- 23:35Speaker 1: they went, oh, no, wait. Look, we just got these
- 23:37Speaker 1: readings in. Misty likes it. Time to cut it loose.
- 23:41Speaker 8: That's what happens.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Yes, folks, it's intermission time. So how about taking a break?
- 24:03Speaker 3: Get out and stretch a little and relax before the
- 24:07Speaker 3: show begins again. And why not make it refreshment time, too?
- 24:11Speaker 3: We have lots of tasty, delicious treats waiting for you
- 24:14Speaker 3: at the refreshment center.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I brought them to share with you. I said I
- 24:22Speaker 1: was getting my Girl Scout cookies and they finally, just
- 24:25Speaker 1: before the lockdown, showed up and So if you need
- 24:29Speaker 1: some tagalongs, I also left them sealed so you know
- 24:32Speaker 1: they have not been infected yet. As soon as we
- 24:35Speaker 1: open them, they're infected.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I know, who knows.
- 24:37Speaker 1: But tagalongs. So as we're enjoying our cookies, we're doing
- 24:41Speaker 1: it with coffee, which surprisingly, even as the world's falling apart,
- 24:46Speaker 1: you can still go get it at Heine Brothers. I
- 24:49Speaker 1: was driving past to go back to my bunker and
- 24:52Speaker 1: I looked out the window and there were people in line.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Like you can't hang out there, but you can still
- 24:56Speaker 1: go in. Wait in line, get your coffee, take it
- 24:59Speaker 1: back to your bunker. So just, you know, even in the...
- 25:04Speaker 1: I've been calling it apocalypse light. You know, we haven't
- 25:07Speaker 1: really started fighting over gasoline yet or gunning people down
- 25:11Speaker 1: in the streets yet. But it's weird. So it's a
- 25:15Speaker 1: very light apocalypse at this point. But you can still
- 25:18Speaker 1: go get your Hiney Brothers coffee. And until the shipping
- 25:21Speaker 1: system falls apart, I'm assuming you can still order it
- 25:24Speaker 1: and it'll come to your house.

- 25:26Speaker 1: Your meltdown code. Get yourself some, ship to your house
- 25:30Speaker 1: while you can.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Stockpile it.

- 25:35Speaker 1: bags of beans for what you really will need in
- 25:38Speaker 1: the long run is coffee. So it's important. Plan ahead, people.
- 25:44Speaker 8: Even when everything is falling apart, Heine Brothers Coffee.

- 27:19Speaker 1: and I'm still stupidly, for many people, probably trying to
- 27:23Speaker 1: put together these Horror Club exclusive episodes... I assume nobody

- 27:30Speaker 1: to want these anymore. Yesterday, we got a new patron.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Somebody joined on in the middle of this insanity. And
- 27:38Speaker 1: I was like, you know, it's these things that make
- 27:41Speaker 1: me want to keep going. Thank you, mysterious patron. I'm
- 27:46Speaker 1: glad anyone out there is still listening in general, but
- 27:50Speaker 1: even more so when they actually support the show and
- 27:52Speaker 1: want to come on board and like, Help us keep
- 27:56Speaker 1: this thing running on a good day, let alone in
- 27:59Speaker 1: the weird, uncertain times we're living in. So thank you
- 28:02Speaker 1: to all our patrons and in particular, any new newcomers. Hey, welcome.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And tell your friends we welcome all new people in.
- 28:09Speaker 1: It'll give you something to listen to as the world

- 28:47Speaker 1: I mean really. Don't you want to be cool? All
- 28:50Speaker 1: the cool kids are doing it. Okay, wait, just by
- 28:53Speaker 1: being a movie geek, you're already not a cool kid,
- 28:55Speaker 1: and neither are we. So all the geeks are doing it.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Join the club now.

- 29:17Speaker 1: Two bucks. Two dollars.
- 29:18Speaker 5: Two dollars.
- 29:19Speaker 8: Two dollars.
- 29:19Speaker 1: That's all you need to listen to the episodes. So,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I mean, it kind of keeps us alive. I was
- 29:25Speaker 1: discussing the horrible situation it's been to try to keep
- 29:29Speaker 1: things going earlier to these poor bastards. Like, yeah, it's
- 29:33Speaker 1: not just like, hey, I'm rich and I want your
- 29:36Speaker 1: money anyway. it's it really does keep the show going
- 29:39Speaker 1: to the level that people don't realize it's kind of
- 29:43Speaker 1: the only way it survived this last year and a
- 29:45Speaker 1: half or so since we started this it's yeah so
- 29:50Speaker 1: it is not only greatly appreciated but it gives us
- 29:53Speaker 1: a kind of a good way to come up with
- 29:55Speaker 1: something specific to put out there just for these people
- 29:59Speaker 1: that we'd no actually care enough to kick in. So
- 30:02Speaker 1: you get a lot of great stuff for that too.
- 30:03Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. I like, I like being able
- 30:05Speaker 1: to craft something for a very special group. So you
- 30:08Speaker 1: guys are super cool. And then you get these awesome episodes.
- 30:11Speaker 1: So one more reason, go join up now. So go

- 30:22Speaker 1: help us keep the meltdown rolling. Damn the man, save
- 30:26Speaker 1: the meltdown.
- 30:38Speaker 8: This is Stephen McCarty and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 30:56Speaker 3: It's part of your problem, you know.
- 30:57Speaker 2: You haven't seen enough movies. All of life's riddles are
- 30:59Speaker 2: answered in the movies.
- 31:01Speaker 3: And now, on with the show.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Well, we're back with Misty's continued crazy stuff she's been watching.
- 31:49Speaker 8: Let's see. Moving on is to a show that I'm
- 31:51Speaker 8: pretty sure will never get canceled, no matter how good
- 31:53Speaker 8: or bad it gets. It has gone through some shitty seasons.
- 31:57Speaker 8: There was one season I couldn't even watch.
- 31:59Speaker 7: It was so bad.
- 32:00Speaker 8: I got like three episodes in and I'm like, oh, dude,
- 32:02Speaker 8: fuck this season.
- 32:03Speaker 7: I am dunsies.
- 32:05Speaker 8: We finally broke in and watched American Horror Story, which
- 32:09Speaker 8: is so hard for me to say.
- 32:10Speaker 7: I don't even know why.
- 32:11Speaker 8: 1984. Because, you know, I'm going to watch it because
- 32:18Speaker 8: it has crackhead Emma Roberts in it. She's not actually
- 32:20Speaker 8: a crackhead that.
- 32:21Speaker 7: I know of.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Well, we assume just kind of in life. She's a
- 32:24Speaker 1: little bit crackheaded.
- 32:26Speaker 7: She's crazy.
- 32:27Speaker 8: I can't guarantee there's drugs involved.
- 32:28Speaker 7: This one's different.
- 32:29Speaker 8: Because I'm used to all the other seasons, which, don't
- 32:33Speaker 8: get me wrong, I liked certain aspects of the first season.
- 32:37Speaker 8: The murder house season. Coven is still My second favorite.
- 32:44Speaker 8: Asylum has been my number one favorite. But all of them,
- 32:47Speaker 8: it just seems they want to just... Maybe I'm old
- 32:50Speaker 8: and I'm a prude, but I don't need gratuitous sex
- 32:52Speaker 8: and my TV to rule.
- 32:54Speaker 1: That's what the internet's for, damn it.
- 32:56Speaker 4: I know.
- 32:56Speaker 7: But I'm just like, this is unnecessary.
- 32:59Speaker 8: I'm like, just give me a story that's good.
- 33:01Speaker 7: And I'm happy.
- 33:02Speaker 8: You don't need to make it gratuitous for any reason.
- 33:04Speaker 8: I don't need that in my TV.
- 33:06Speaker 5: But this one?
- 33:09Speaker 7: It seems like it sets itself up to be that
- 33:11Speaker 7: because it's a show based on eighties slasher movies.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:18Speaker 8: And what are eighties slasher movies kind of known for?
- 33:21Speaker 8: I mean, you're going to have some boobies in there.
- 33:23Speaker 1: That's one of the basic rules is you're going to
- 33:25Speaker 1: be having sex so you can die. And then of
- 33:28Speaker 1: course you have to, you know, take the top off
- 33:30Speaker 1: to be doing the sex. And then there you go.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I'm trying to describe it. I don't know if I
- 33:34Speaker 1: even remember how this works.
- 33:36Speaker 8: It's like, I was walking and I'm like, maybe it's
- 33:39Speaker 8: because it's on Hulu? Did they have an editing version?
- 33:42Speaker 8: I haven't gone back and watched any of the other
- 33:43Speaker 8: seasons on Hulu.
- 33:45Speaker 7: So I don't know.
- 33:45Speaker 8: Or maybe they were just fucking with us. Like, we
- 33:48Speaker 8: know what you expect. We know what you.
- 33:50Speaker 7: Think you're going to get.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Mix it up. Mix it up a little bit, you know.
- 33:55Speaker 7: Because even the two sex scenes that were sorted in there,
- 33:59Speaker 7: you didn't see anything.
- 34:00Speaker 2: At all.
- 34:01Speaker 7: It was kind of like, they're kissing and then, oh,
- 34:04Speaker 7: they did it?
- 34:04Speaker 8: Hold on, wait, what? Very classy of Unless Emma Roberts
- 34:09Speaker 8: was like, no, you ain't getting that shot.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I am too good for this.
- 34:14Speaker 7: She might be.
- 34:15Speaker 8: I'm so used to her being the crazy bitch. And
- 34:18Speaker 8: she wasn't. Because even Boyfriend was like, I like her
- 34:23Speaker 8: better when she's kind of like a bitch. When she's
- 34:27Speaker 8: in Scream Queens, she is fucking flat out crazy. And
- 34:31Speaker 8: this one, she's the subdued kind of, I wouldn't say victim,
- 34:35Speaker 8: but she's.
- 34:38Speaker 7: She's just more.
- 34:39Speaker 8: I don't even know how to say it.
- 34:40Speaker 7: She's not.
- 34:41Speaker 1: She's toned down a little bit.
- 34:43Speaker 8: She's toned way down. And her hair was brown. And
- 34:47Speaker 8: that was just like, wait, what?
- 34:48Speaker 7: Who is this girl?
- 34:50Speaker 8: It's Emma.
- 34:52Speaker 7: But yeah, it's like they got halfway through the show
- 34:54Speaker 7: and then they were like, hmm, what else can we
- 34:57Speaker 7: put in here? Because it just seemed like they kept
- 34:59Speaker 7: changing directions and adding more shit. And they're like, what
- 35:02Speaker 7: other horror movie can we throw in here? What else
- 35:05Speaker 7: can we rip off from something else? Because there is
- 35:08Speaker 7: like pretty much every 80s horror movie cliche that you
- 35:13Speaker 7: can throw in there. Because first of all, they're going
- 35:14Speaker 7: to a camp.
- 35:15Speaker 8: And of course, a camper died there. Actually, the whole
- 35:18Speaker 8: fucking camp got murdered.
- 35:20Speaker 1: It happens.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Then you got the camp council, or is it the
- 35:24Speaker 2: person running the camp that's trying to open the camp,
- 35:27Speaker 2: you know? Even though they knew that there's murders that happened.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Is there a Judy? That's my question. Is anyone rocking
- 35:36Speaker 1: the sideways ponytail?
- 35:38Speaker 7: I don't remember there being a sideways ponytail.
- 35:41Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 35:42Speaker 2: Somebody was, but I can't remember who. Judy.
- 35:46Speaker 7: It wasn't Emma Roberts and it was not Billy Lord.
- 35:49Speaker 1: No, but I like both of them. I would watch
- 35:52Speaker 1: both of them with sideways ponytails.
- 35:54Speaker 7: Me too.
- 35:56Speaker 8: And it's got that one girl whose name I can't, Leslie.
- 35:59Speaker 8: She played a best friend in one of the shows
- 36:01Speaker 8: we watched before.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Ah, Leslie.
- 36:05Speaker 7: You'd know her if you saw her. She played a
- 36:07Speaker 7: best friend in something. It might have been the What
- 36:11Speaker 7: I Like About You show.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I saw her on something the other day.
- 36:16Speaker 1: The blonde girl from What I Like About You.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 36:20Speaker 1: And I was just like, wow, that goes deep into
- 36:22Speaker 1: my reservoir of weird crap that I've watched over the years.
- 36:28Speaker 7: Now I'm wondering if I even got her name right.
- 36:30Speaker 7: I'm guessing I did not. I keep thinking of Leslie.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I think she's on like a detergent commercial now or
- 36:36Speaker 1: something like.
- 36:40Speaker 7: But yeah, I said there was no as far as
- 36:42Speaker 7: like there was no gratuitous sex scenes in it. Leslie Grossman.
- 36:47Speaker 7: I knew it was in there somewhere. But it's got
- 36:51Speaker 7: several people from different seasons did not make appearances because
- 36:54Speaker 7: usually you have like your basic consistent list.
- 36:56Speaker 8: I mean, Evan Peters has been in like every season.
- 36:58Speaker 8: He was not in this one.
- 37:00Speaker 7: Sarah Paulson. He's been in like every other season. Not
- 37:03Speaker 7: in this one.
- 37:04Speaker 1: No Jessica Lange's?
- 37:06Speaker 8: Jessica Lange was not in this one, but she wasn't
- 37:07Speaker 8: in the last one either.
- 37:08Speaker 1: That's the thing. I thought she kind of retired out
- 37:10Speaker 1: of it.
- 37:10Speaker 8: Maybe she wasn't.
- 37:11Speaker 7: I don't think she was in the political one. The
- 37:14Speaker 7: cult one. That was the one I could not even.
- 37:16Speaker 7: I just couldn't.
- 37:18Speaker 8: I couldn't even. But yeah, it was just like this
- 37:21Speaker 8: whole big thing. Every trope you could put in a movie.
- 37:27Speaker 8: But I'd bug it. I wasn't taking it too seriously.
- 37:30Speaker 8: I know it's supposed to be ridiculous because you can't
- 37:31Speaker 8: have something that ridiculous and not expect it to be
- 37:33Speaker 8: that ridiculous. If you're taking it serious and expecting quality,
- 37:39Speaker 8: you're going to win an Emmy.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Emmy's TV.
- 37:43Speaker 8: Yay, I pulled that one out of nowhere.
- 37:47Speaker 7: It was fun.
- 37:48Speaker 8: Like I said, it was better than some of the seasons.
- 37:52Speaker 8: Definitely better than Cult.
- 37:54Speaker 7: Probably better than Freak Show, which I was.
- 37:56Speaker 8: Very disappointed in Freak Show, because I really wanted to
- 37:59Speaker 8: like Freak Show, because how could you not?
- 38:01Speaker 1: I mean, we want to hang out at a Freak Show,
- 38:03Speaker 1: we know that. Who wouldn't want a TV show centered
- 38:05Speaker 1: around it?
- 38:06Speaker 8: I can't remember if you actually watched all of that
- 38:08Speaker 8: one with me, or if you gave up.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Oh, which one?
- 38:10Speaker 8: American Horror Story.
- 38:13Speaker 2: No, no, which one?
- 38:15Speaker 8: The last one we did, the one we're talking about.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I watched it all the way up to
- 38:19Speaker 2: probably about the very end, and then I kind of
- 38:21Speaker 2: got bored.
- 38:23Speaker 8: Because, yeah, they said, They even had Richard Ramirez in
- 38:26Speaker 8: the movie. What are you even talking about? They just
- 38:28Speaker 8: kept throwing shit. At the end, they had not one,
- 38:31Speaker 8: not two, but three different serial killers were hanging out
- 38:34Speaker 8: at this fucking camp.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah. That's where I was kind of like, all right,
- 38:39Speaker 2: this is just fucking retarded. I'm out of here.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I mean, I guess if you're going to dial it
- 38:44Speaker 1: up to crazy.
- 38:46Speaker 2: You think it goes like a normal 80s slasher movie.
- 38:51Speaker 2: So you think, okay, this is the end here. They're
- 38:53Speaker 2: going to get killed, blah, blah, blah. And then it
- 38:57Speaker 2: leaves that, and then they kind of go into the future.
- 39:01Speaker 2: And then they come back to the fucking camp again.
- 39:06Speaker 1: This seems complicated.
- 39:08Speaker 2: At that point, I was like, all right, this is stupid.
- 39:13Speaker 8: And Richard Ramirez, at some point, gets killed and gets
- 39:17Speaker 8: brought back to life by Satan.
- 39:20Speaker 1: That might have happened. We don't know everything he was
- 39:22Speaker 1: up to.
- 39:24Speaker 8: Some crazy shit, but this is just... yeah, I'm like, again,
- 39:28Speaker 8: you're being factually incorrect. I'm pretty sure Richard Ramirez did
- 39:31Speaker 8: not go to summer camp. I mean, you never know,
- 39:37Speaker 8: but it does have the scene where he's arrested, but
- 39:39Speaker 8: they played that fairly accurate.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I mean, Jeffrey Dahmer met the vice president. So you
- 39:44Speaker 1: really don't know what the hell's going on in their
- 39:46Speaker 1: lives before they become famous and or infamous.
- 39:51Speaker 8: Like I said, I liked it better than some of
- 39:53Speaker 8: the other seasons, but it was by far not my favorite,
- 39:55Speaker 8: but I did enjoy it. What else did we watch?
- 39:59Speaker 8: Let me look at my list because I made one.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 40:04Speaker 8: That's one boyfriend. Should I do the one you liked
- 40:07Speaker 8: or the one that you're kind of like on?
- 40:09Speaker 2: You can do the one I'm kind of on.
- 40:12Speaker 8: Okay, we started watching The Strain.
- 40:14Speaker 2: I like The Strain.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Sorry, my favorite is girl.
- 40:20Speaker 8: I've only seen her in like one episode so far.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I know, but it's the only, actually from the beginning,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I wanted to watch it just because of who was
- 40:27Speaker 1: involved in making it. But I just, again, it's a
- 40:30Speaker 1: show and I didn't have time. And then I knew
- 40:32Speaker 1: she came on. I'm like, no, I really want to
- 40:34Speaker 1: watch it. And I still haven't really have a time.
- 40:36Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 40:37Speaker 8: We have finished the first season and we have started
- 40:40Speaker 8: the second. And I liked the first season, even though
- 40:44Speaker 8: it should stress me out because there is a lot
- 40:47Speaker 8: of shit going on in there that I'm like, pretty
- 40:49Speaker 8: sure i heard this speech on tv just the other
- 40:51Speaker 8: day because there's a lot of you know there's something
- 40:56Speaker 8: going around um where everybody's wearing masks and stealing toilet
- 41:00Speaker 8: paper but this was like fucking years.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Ago so we're gonna turn into vampires is what.
- 41:05Speaker 8: You're saying big vampire weird ass worms with things that
- 41:09Speaker 8: shoot out of our mouths that's apparently what's gonna happen
- 41:11Speaker 8: to all of.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Us That still sounds better than some of the other
- 41:14Speaker 1: stuff I've been hearing on the news. So, all right.
- 41:17Speaker 8: Way more interesting. This fucking apocalypse we've got going on
- 41:20Speaker 8: now is so lame.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Apocalypse light and it's boring. It's just sitting at home.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I'm working.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I know going to work every day. That's the worst
- 41:31Speaker 1: part of it.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I'm like, it feels, it feels like everybody else is
- 41:34Speaker 2: on vacation. I know. Everybody's out riding bikes and in
- 41:39Speaker 2: their yard and, and hanging out and going places. And
- 41:43Speaker 2: I'm going to work. Everybody's in my fucking way.
- 41:48Speaker 1: See, I was thinking that the other day and I'm
- 41:50Speaker 1: not totally don't, don't anybody take this the wrong way.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Cause I know, I'm just thankful I'm not unemployed now
- 41:57Speaker 1: because I can't afford any, any, I have no buffer zone.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I'm living paycheck to paycheck. I get it. Like people
- 42:02Speaker 1: are hurting from day one. So I'm glad that's not
- 42:05Speaker 1: happened to me. But I went outside when I'm pretending
- 42:10Speaker 1: to take a break at work and because I still
- 42:12Speaker 1: have to do that, even though I can't go anywhere.
- 42:14Speaker 1: But so I'm outside and I'm.
- 42:16Speaker 8: Like, is, is everybody happier?
- 42:19Speaker 1: Because I see people riding bikes and walking dogs, and
- 42:22Speaker 1: I swear in front of me, I'm sitting in my car,
- 42:24Speaker 1: because I have nothing else to do, and there's like
- 42:26Speaker 1: kids throwing a football in the street. And I'm like,
- 42:29Speaker 1: when I was like 17, I'm like, would you ever
- 42:32Speaker 1: hang out with your little brother if you had any
- 42:34Speaker 1: other choice in the world if you weren't quarantined with him?
- 42:37Speaker 1: But now they're like being siblings and shit. I'm just like,
- 42:41Speaker 1: is everybody happier because they don't have to go to work?
- 42:44Speaker 1: I think we've hit the key here.
- 42:47Speaker 8: I don't know. You obviously didn't see that couple in
- 42:49Speaker 8: front of our house earlier today.
- 42:52Speaker 1: What was going on there?
- 42:53Speaker 2: They were riding bikes. And he was going to go
- 43:00Speaker 2: one way and she was going to go the other.
- 43:01Speaker 2: And he was like, where the hell are you going?
- 43:04Speaker 2: And she circled back and then he ran right into her.
- 43:08Speaker 8: She hit the ground. You have no idea how hard
- 43:11Speaker 8: it was for me to not point and laugh. I.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I was waiting for it. I was like, Oh God,
- 43:19Speaker 2: she's going to, she's going to let out a huge laugh.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Cause I'm like, she's infected.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I'm like, I usually sit on the porch and I'll
- 43:30Speaker 2: be quiet. And most of the time people go by,
- 43:32Speaker 2: they won't see you if you're sitting on the porch.
- 43:36Speaker 2: But if we're sitting on the porch together and people
- 43:38Speaker 2: ride by, Misty's usually like, you know, ah, look at
- 43:41Speaker 2: that asshole.
- 43:42Speaker 1: And you're like, shh, not so loud.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Yeah, because people can hear.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I'm going to have to go punch him in the
- 43:52Speaker 1: face when they get mad.
- 43:56Speaker 8: I'm not that loud. I usually go around the corner.
- 43:59Speaker 7: He ran right into her right.
- 44:02Speaker 8: In front of our house.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Yeah yeah and this is the thing it's like i
- 44:06Speaker 2: think it was both they're false you know because i
- 44:10Speaker 2: think he was he would he slowed down a little
- 44:12Speaker 2: bit but i think he was trying to hit her
- 44:14Speaker 2: on purpose because he was aggro i could tell he
- 44:17Speaker 2: was aggravated at her and then i think she let
- 44:21Speaker 2: him hit her just so she could be mad at
- 44:23Speaker 2: him oh they are a couple yeah exactly But they
- 44:28Speaker 2: both hit each other at like a little bit more
- 44:31Speaker 2: force than they actually thought they were. It knocked her
- 44:34Speaker 2: flat on her ass.
- 44:36Speaker 7: Nice.
- 44:37Speaker 2: And then they both got mad and then she went
- 44:41Speaker 2: one direction and he went the other.
- 44:42Speaker 1: But see, they couldn't have had this magic moment if
- 44:46Speaker 1: they were stuck at work.
- 44:48Speaker 5: No.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I don't know. So weird.
- 44:53Speaker 8: Eventually he circled back going towards the direction she went
- 44:56Speaker 8: off in. So they might have Might have made amends.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Or maybe they're no longer together. Whatever.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I think she's like, fuck this, I'm going home. He
- 45:08Speaker 2: just kept on riding and he got kind of down
- 45:11Speaker 2: to the end of the cul-de-sac past our house and
- 45:15Speaker 2: then he turned around and came back. I was going
- 45:20Speaker 2: to go, just go apologize. Yeah.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's such a weird world
- 45:28Speaker 1: with people doing things, you know, anything that's not going
- 45:32Speaker 1: to work. They can almost have a life together.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I understand people are stressed and I understand,
- 45:38Speaker 2: you know, like bills and stuff like that. But it
- 45:41Speaker 2: does seem like people are out doing stuff.
- 45:44Speaker 1: But like outside.
- 45:45Speaker 2: But outside, yeah, they're outside doing stuff.
- 45:48Speaker 1: They're not, like, driving and going to the mall anymore.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Now they're, like, hanging out with their family in the backyard,
- 45:53Speaker 1: having a cookout.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Well, no, they're also driving around and hanging out at
- 45:58Speaker 2: Kroger and Walmart and Target and Meijer.
- 46:02Speaker 1: That's so they can fight over toilet paper, you know.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. It's like, I understand, you know, if
- 46:07Speaker 2: you've got to get stuff, that's fine. You know, send
- 46:11Speaker 2: one of your family members to go get stuff and
- 46:14Speaker 2: then come back.
- 46:15Speaker 8: Don't take the entire fucking family.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Now it's getting to the point you can't do that.
- 46:20Speaker 1: As of this week, they're starting to limit the number
- 46:23Speaker 1: of people that can even be in the building.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw Walmart doing that.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Walmart's definitely started doing that. All the smaller businesses
- 46:31Speaker 1: I've seen do that anyway, but now even Walmart's got
- 46:34Speaker 1: to that point. Now it's like a one-in, one-out kind
- 46:37Speaker 1: of thing for a lot of the bigger stores.
- 46:40Speaker 8: I'm okay with Because as much as I hate this
- 46:43Speaker 8: shit and as much as I've been complaining about it,
- 46:44Speaker 8: and trust me, I have been complaining about it.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I can't imagine.
- 46:51Speaker 8: I went to the grocery today, but I have not gone,
- 46:53Speaker 8: aside from going to work, I have not gone anywhere else.
- 46:58Speaker 1: But I was thinking this the other day. I was like,
- 47:00Speaker 1: in a way, this is exactly what Misty wanted. Six
- 47:03Speaker 1: feet radius with nobody around her at any given moment.
- 47:06Speaker 1: That's exactly the way you want to go through the world.
- 47:09Speaker 8: But I want my bookstore.
- 47:10Speaker 7: Open when I get there.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I was thinking just for us, because we're constantly at conventions,
- 47:15Speaker 1: like what if we could still have the conventions, but
- 47:17Speaker 1: we always got a six foot buffer, man, that would
- 47:21Speaker 1: be nice. You wouldn't have to be bumping into crazy
- 47:24Speaker 1: sweaty geeks and stuff.
- 47:25Speaker 8: It'd be kind of nice.
- 47:27Speaker 1: So we can find an in-between.
- 47:29Speaker 8: We've watched like, should I talk about the other two
- 47:35Speaker 8: things that we watched? It's only got like one and
- 47:38Speaker 8: a half more. One of them really doesn't count because
- 47:41Speaker 8: it's just kind of like been background sound a lot
- 47:43Speaker 8: of the time. But one of my new partially favorite things,
- 47:49Speaker 8: Future Man.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Future Man.
- 47:51Speaker 1: All right.
- 47:53Speaker 8: One of the greatest things ever. I'm pretty sure it's
- 47:55Speaker 8: a Hulu exclusive, but it is so fucking funny.
- 48:00Speaker 2: It is so fucking hilarious. The writing on it is great.
- 48:04Speaker 8: But it's stupid. It's like stupid funny. It's like the
- 48:08Speaker 8: stupidest thing I've ever heard of.
- 48:10Speaker 7: But good God damn, it's hilarious.
- 48:12Speaker 8: And it's one of those things you kind of need
- 48:13Speaker 8: something this stupid in this day and age, because you
- 48:16Speaker 8: need something that you're like, Oh my God.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Some people kind of complain about it. Cause in, uh,
- 48:21Speaker 2: Seth Rogen, did he help write some of it?
- 48:24Speaker 8: I think he is like later, like the season that
- 48:27Speaker 8: we're on now, cause they just released season three yesterday.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Okay. I can't remember which one it was, but I
- 48:34Speaker 2: remember reading some people complaining about it.
- 48:36Speaker 8: Huh? I've been complaining about just having to see him.
- 48:41Speaker 8: I am not.
- 48:42Speaker 2: No, no, no, not that. I'm talking about the show
- 48:45Speaker 2: in general. They had people complain about, well, you know,
- 48:49Speaker 2: if you want something stupid that's just full of dick
- 48:51Speaker 2: jokes and blah, blah, blah.
- 48:53Speaker 1: That's Seth Rogen.
- 48:54Speaker 2: This is the show for you. It's not very.
- 48:57Speaker 8: It is not highbrow.
- 49:00Speaker 2: It's not highbrow. It's lowbrow. It's as low as you go.
- 49:04Speaker 8: There are a lot of dick and fart jokes. Let
- 49:06Speaker 8: me tell you that right now.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I mean, there's... Yeah, there's a lot of... It's lewd
- 49:13Speaker 2: and just... But it's fucking funny as shit. Oh my God,
- 49:17Speaker 2: it's so hilarious. At least I find it fucking hilarious.
- 49:20Speaker 2: But I think one of the funniest things about it
- 49:23Speaker 2: is the main character, Josh.
- 49:25Speaker 8: Played by Josh Hutcherson from the Hunger Games movies.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 49:31Speaker 2: I don't know. But whatever. Anyways, the main character. He
- 49:36Speaker 2: is exactly like a guy I work with.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Lucky you get an extra dose of it. Yeah.
- 49:44Speaker 2: But it's funny because, uh, the Josh character is just,
- 49:48Speaker 2: he's just kind of a loser and he's not good
- 49:51Speaker 2: at anything. And he's, he's kind of short and he
- 49:53Speaker 2: always gets picked on. And it just seems like life
- 49:56Speaker 2: is just constantly kicking him in the nuts. And that's
- 49:59Speaker 2: the way this guy that I work with is. He
- 50:02Speaker 2: is just string of bad luck after bad luck. He
- 50:06Speaker 2: always tries to do the right thing, and he always
- 50:09Speaker 2: gets shit on. And that is exactly this guy.
- 50:12Speaker 8: In this scenario, does that make you wolf? Because I
- 50:14Speaker 8: have no idea where that would go.
- 50:16Speaker 2: No. Because I don't really interact with him that much.
- 50:21Speaker 7: Okay.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Corey Wolfheart.
- 50:25Speaker 8: Corey Wolfheart. He's the best. That's where I... Oh, my God.
- 50:28Speaker 8: The only thing that got me through season two was
- 50:31Speaker 8: that guy. But the basic concept of the first season is...
- 50:36Speaker 8: Josh is kind of a loser, right? And all he
- 50:39Speaker 8: does is he's a janitor at like a medical research facility.
- 50:44Speaker 1: This sounds like trouble.
- 50:46Speaker 8: And he plays video games. There's this one video game
- 50:49Speaker 8: that nobody's ever beat.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:52Speaker 8: So he wants to beat this video game.
- 50:55Speaker 4: Finally.
- 50:56Speaker 2: Finally.
- 50:58Speaker 8: After all this time, he finally beats the video game.
- 51:00Speaker 8: find out it's not really a video game.
- 51:02Speaker 2: It is a training simulation.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Oh they last starfightered him and he even refers to
- 51:10Speaker 1: that in it because that's the whole premise of the movie.
- 51:14Speaker 2: That's exactly what he's saying yeah when.
- 51:17Speaker 8: They when they show up when tiger and wolf show
- 51:20Speaker 8: up they explain to him you know it's you know
- 51:22Speaker 8: this is a recruitment this is and he's like wait,
- 51:25Speaker 8: hold on, that's the last Starfighter. And they're like, what
- 51:28Speaker 8: are you talking about?
- 51:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:31Speaker 8: He's like, it's a movie. And they're like, what's a movie?
- 51:32Speaker 8: Because they're from the future where the world has gone
- 51:36Speaker 8: to shit so they don't know anything. But because he
- 51:39Speaker 8: beat the game, now he is their savior and he
- 51:41Speaker 8: has to help them defeat all these things to change
- 51:45Speaker 8: the future so that they don't have a shitty future.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Complicated, but all time-travelly things are.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Oh, and they make a fuckery of time travel they
- 51:57Speaker 2: screw everything.
- 51:58Speaker 8: Up to the point where in season three where we
- 52:01Speaker 8: just started they have fucked things up so bad that
- 52:03Speaker 8: they had to go to a this they got taken
- 52:05Speaker 8: off the prison first of all for fucking they caused
- 52:08Speaker 8: so many time rifts that it caused like an entire
- 52:12Speaker 8: fucking galaxy to explode i.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Mean that's bound to happen when you start messing with
- 52:17Speaker 1: time in general.
- 52:19Speaker 8: Yeah the first season pure genius mostly because derrick wilson
- 52:24Speaker 8: I don't know if you're familiar with Derek Wilson because
- 52:26Speaker 8: the only other thing I knew him from before this
- 52:28Speaker 8: was Preacher. He is so fucking funny. All right. They're
- 52:40Speaker 8: only funny when they're together.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Yeah. When all three of them are together, there's a
- 52:45Speaker 2: perfect chemistry there.
- 52:47Speaker 8: So, of course, for season two, they split them all up.
- 52:51Speaker 1: What a great idea.
- 52:53Speaker 8: And it quit being funny. Season two was a struggle.
- 52:58Speaker 8: It was painful until the very end when they all
- 53:02Speaker 8: three get back together and you're like, oh, that's why
- 53:04Speaker 8: I like this show. Haley Joel Osment was really not
- 53:07Speaker 8: helping the second season?
- 53:09Speaker 2: No.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Special guest star, though.
- 53:12Speaker 8: He was in a good majority of the second season.
- 53:14Speaker 8: He wasn't even a guest star at that point. He
- 53:16Speaker 8: was starring.
- 53:18Speaker 2: Yeah, he was in a little bit of the first
- 53:20Speaker 2: season and then he was in pretty much all of
- 53:23Speaker 2: the second season.
- 53:25Speaker 8: We've not seen him so far at all in the
- 53:26Speaker 8: third season, so that's good. But they started off in
- 53:29Speaker 8: the third season, were part of, I guess, after they
- 53:31Speaker 8: were in, like, whatever, space prison they were in, now
- 53:33Speaker 8: they had to go to the dikeathlon where they have
- 53:35Speaker 8: to kill people?
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's basically, it's the running man.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Nice. Stealing from all the good ones.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because they've committed all these time atrocities. Now they've
- 53:51Speaker 2: got to, they put them on TV to, um, playing
- 53:55Speaker 2: the Dicathlon.
- 53:57Speaker 8: For entertainment.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Dicathlon.
- 54:00Speaker 5: I get it.
- 54:00Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:02Speaker 8: And that's where Seth Rogen has come in.
- 54:04Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 54:05Speaker 8: Yeah, he is the leader of whatever. He's the TV
- 54:09Speaker 8: producer of the Dicathlon.
- 54:11Speaker 7: His name is Susan.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Alright. Yeah, it's stupid.
- 54:16Speaker 8: But luckily, then they escaped from this, so now they
- 54:20Speaker 8: stole this time travel device where they can jump to
- 54:22Speaker 8: any place any.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Time yeah and uh they're trying to hide from the
- 54:30Speaker 2: time police but unfortunately uh wolf can't seem to not
- 54:37Speaker 2: screw things up so.
- 54:38Speaker 8: Because they want to find a time where they can
- 54:40Speaker 8: stay and kind of lay low but he's always doing
- 54:43Speaker 8: things that cause like history to change sliced bread he
- 54:48Speaker 8: like yeah Yeah, it's a whole big thing. But it
- 54:55Speaker 8: is way funnier than we just made it sound like.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:00Speaker 8: So if you like stupid shit and you like laughing
- 55:02Speaker 8: at stupid shit, Future Man.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Sold.
- 55:08Speaker 8: Dude, it's funny. I don't even care. The only other
- 55:12Speaker 8: thing we've kind of been watching just because it's on
- 55:13Speaker 8: Hulu is they have Animaniacs. And I forgot how great
- 55:17Speaker 8: that show was.
- 55:19Speaker 1: I was a sucker for some Animaniacs back in the day.
- 55:22Speaker 5: Yep.
- 55:23Speaker 8: That's like my early morning cartoons now. Because now that
- 55:25Speaker 8: we're not going anywhere on the weekend, I get up,
- 55:27Speaker 8: eat my bowl of cereal, watch me some Animaniacs.
- 55:31Speaker 1: So is it in its original form with all the
- 55:34Speaker 1: other crazy ones? Or did they just edit it so
- 55:37Speaker 1: that it's nothing but Yakko, Wacko, and Dot?
- 55:40Speaker 7: Dude, I wish.
- 55:41Speaker 8: Because I am so fucking tired of Buttons and Mindy.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Yeah, see that one, even back when it was originally on,
- 55:47Speaker 1: I was like, why... I get it. I get the joke,
- 55:50Speaker 1: but after one of them, you've seen it. You only
- 55:52Speaker 1: need one, and then it's not that funny anymore. Just
- 55:55Speaker 1: waste a whole lot of time.
- 55:57Speaker 8: Dude, I could do without anything that I had turned
- 56:01Speaker 8: off today because I had to put it back on
- 56:03Speaker 8: my murder shows because I got tired of Buttons and
- 56:05Speaker 8: Mindy and the Goodfeathers. I don't need that.
- 56:09Speaker 1: See, that's another one. I was like, it's just the reference,
- 56:13Speaker 1: and then after you watch it one episode, you're like,
- 56:15Speaker 1: all right, I get it. I'm good. That was the thing.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Like the two good segments on that show became super
- 56:20Speaker 1: popular and everything else. I was like, why, why is
- 56:22Speaker 1: this here?
- 56:23Speaker 3: Like, why?
- 56:24Speaker 1: I don't know. Except for the giant chicken going to
- 56:27Speaker 1: peck your eye out, which I, I would still reference.
- 56:31Speaker 1: I did at the time. And I still occasionally make
- 56:35Speaker 1: reference to that. And nobody knows what the hell I'm
- 56:37Speaker 1: talking about, but giant chicken.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Pick your eyes out.
- 56:42Speaker 8: I haven't gotten that far.
- 56:43Speaker 4: Oh my God.
- 56:45Speaker 1: It's ridiculous too. And again, after one, that one almost
- 56:48Speaker 1: works the other way because it's so stupid. You're like, well,
- 56:51Speaker 1: they're never going to do another one of those. And
- 56:52Speaker 1: then they keep doing them. And you're like, it's almost
- 56:55Speaker 1: the funny thing is that they keep doing this dumb
- 56:57Speaker 1: premise over and over and over again. But yeah, other
- 57:00Speaker 1: than Yakko, Wacko and Dot and Pinky and the Brain,
- 57:03Speaker 1: like that, that's really all you needed out of that show.
- 57:06Speaker 1: But they kept doing this other stuff.
- 57:08Speaker 8: I'm okay with the squirrel. Slappy's okay.
- 57:11Speaker 1: I guess she's, she's angry.
- 57:13Speaker 8: I was okay with the Rita and runt until today.
- 57:17Speaker 8: Cause the one I watched today was them doing like a,
- 57:20Speaker 8: their version of Les Miserables. And it was Les Miserables
- 57:24Speaker 8: animals or some shit like that. And it was just
- 57:26Speaker 8: them trying to sing songs and the guy was going
- 57:28Speaker 8: to cook them or something. And I was just like,
- 57:31Speaker 8: this is just dumb. This isn't funny. It's just boring.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I mean that one, at least they had good voice talent.
- 57:39Speaker 1: So I, I don't know. I at least gave it
- 57:42Speaker 1: bonus points for that because I like her and they
- 57:45Speaker 1: brought her in to sing.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Who was it? Oh, Lord.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Now I have to think.
- 57:51Speaker 8: I think I tried to look it up. My laptop
- 57:53Speaker 8: is right here. Bernadette Peters?
- 57:58Speaker 1: It's Bernadette Peters. Again, I'm a sucker for the jerk.
- 58:04Speaker 1: So anything from that point on, like Bernadette Peters was cool.
- 58:08Speaker 1: So like Then she just became like a big Broadway
- 58:10Speaker 1: star and she has this amazing voice. To me, anytime
- 58:14Speaker 1: she pops up in something, I'm like, well, you get
- 58:16Speaker 1: bonus points because you were in The Jerk. Bernadette Peters.
- 58:19Speaker 7: I like her.
- 58:20Speaker 8: I've never seen it.
- 58:23Speaker 1: She's awesome. Again, if you like dumb things and you
- 58:25Speaker 1: like laughing at dumb things, The Jerk and Bernadette Peters
- 58:29Speaker 1: is cool. That's really the only thing that I was like,
- 58:32Speaker 1: why are they always singing? I know that's the point
- 58:36Speaker 1: of this part, but why are they always singing?
- 58:39Speaker 8: But Animaniacs does have some good songs. There are songs
- 58:41Speaker 8: that I'm like, holy shit, this is good.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Oh, no, the Animaniacs. Yeah, the ones they worked in
- 58:46Speaker 1: with Yakko, Yakko, and Dot were always good. Like, again,
- 58:50Speaker 1: it was just good writing for the most part.
- 58:52Speaker 8: And not at all for kids half the time.
- 58:55Speaker 1: It never really was. And I was kind of okay
- 58:57Speaker 1: with that because I was like, truthfully, neither were the
- 58:59Speaker 1: old Warner Brothers stuff. Like, they were adult like adult
- 59:04Speaker 1: references that like no kid back in the 40s was
- 59:07Speaker 1: ever gonna get these rep they were still sitting in
- 59:09Speaker 1: a theater watching them but like there's no way they
- 59:12Speaker 1: ever got the jokes and the references and so yeah
- 59:15Speaker 1: to me i was like well animaniacs is just following
- 59:17Speaker 1: in the tradition of good old school warner brothers animation
- 59:21Speaker 1: with stuff kids don't.
- 59:22Speaker 8: Understand oh i forgot to complain about something on the
- 59:25Speaker 8: screen that i need to complain about real quick the
- 59:27Speaker 8: best character that I have the most interest in, who
- 59:30Speaker 8: is the most interesting, and goddammit, he's hardly in any episodes,
- 59:34Speaker 8: and they have done.
- 59:35Speaker 7: Zero with his character.
- 59:36Speaker 8: Stephen McAddy's character in The Strain is fucking awesome, but
- 59:42Speaker 8: they don't show you anything about him so far. We
- 59:44Speaker 8: just started season two, and I'm struggling, struggling with season two,
- 59:49Speaker 8: because they changed the kid actor, because the kid actor
- 59:52Speaker 8: who was in the first season wasn't that bad, wasn't
- 59:55Speaker 8: that annoying. I could deal with him. They start season
- 59:58Speaker 8: two and this little fucking piggy nose motherfucker walks out
- 1:00:01Speaker 8: and I'm like, who is this little shit? And then
- 1:00:05Speaker 8: he starts talking and I'm just.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Like, oh God, he's fucking annoying.
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: He is.
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: And it's just a struggle because like I said, the
- 1:00:14Speaker 8: first season, he was okay. He was tolerable. I could
- 1:00:16Speaker 8: deal with him. I'm not big on kids in the
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: first place. So I was making an allowance for this one.
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: But the second season, this little fucker, and he is
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: just the whiniest little shit.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: He's always questioning, always whining, always just... I guess they're
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: trying to go through the whole thing of him. He's
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: going through his preteen fucking problems and shit like that.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: I just want to see him get eaten by zombies
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: or vampire bugs, whatever the fuck they are.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: As long as there's some Samantha Mathis in there, that's
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: all I really want.
- 1:00:50Speaker 8: Like I said, I've only seen her in one episode
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: so far.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: Questioning the logic of the physical madness of the things
- 1:00:58Speaker 8: that take over your body why does it make your
- 1:01:01Speaker 8: junk fall off.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Uh i mean there's a lot of weird questions in
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: vampire lore as to what goes on with your junk
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: once you become.
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: A vampire this it literally just falls off.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I mean i've heard some weird and rice stories about
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: it so i i don't know what goes on when
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: you're a vampire.
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: That's been so long since I've read any Anne Rice
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: that I have no idea what you're even talking about.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I feel like it doesn't work so much. I thought
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: that was sort of an underlying thing in the books
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: that they sort of gloss over when it's time for movies.
- 1:01:32Speaker 8: It literally falls off your kin. I don't understand. You
- 1:01:36Speaker 8: were Marilyn Manson from Mechanical Animals. There is no reason
- 1:01:41Speaker 8: for that. But then it changes your body so that
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: it all comes out. like a bird, like you pee
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: and poop at the same time from one place. I
- 1:01:49Speaker 8: don't understand why that's necessary.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: This is more details than I need from my vampires, really.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: But again, Stephen McHattie, I think his character's name is Vaughn.
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: He comes out of nowhere.
- 1:02:02Speaker 8: He is, he's a vampire thing, but he's going around
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: killing other vampire things and he's a badass. And I
- 1:02:09Speaker 8: have no idea what the fuck's going on.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: He's sort of a vampire, but he also likes to
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: kill vampires.
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: Dude. Seems like I had another complaint about it, but
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: I don't remember what it was.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: What have you watched?
- 1:02:21Speaker 8: Have you watched anything?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: I mean, I was going to let you do most
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: of yours, but I had one thing lately that I thought,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: number one, you would kind of, or at least Misty
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: would kind of appreciate. Jade probably won't give her access.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: But this is also like the level of not just
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: like my boredom with the current state of the world,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: but even like the people of the world, which to me,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: you know, the celebrities are the only important people That's
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: not really true, but I mean, kind of. I'm a
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: geek for movie type stuff. And so I've seen a
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: ton of stuff rolling by on the internet and I'm like, eh, whatever.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: And then at some point it goes, hey, Felicia Day
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: is doing this live thing. I'm like, all right, whatever.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: So then like I had to join Twitch for God's sakes.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I could give a rat's ass about games and stuff,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: but she was doing a virtual tour of London from
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: her house because she was so bored.
- 1:03:20Speaker 8: How do you even do that?
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Well, then she, she also brought in and see, this
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: was the one I had to like, before we started,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I was like, damn it. I know Misty's going to
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: ask me what his name is. And then I'm going
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: to have to figure it out. Cause I can't ever remember.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: So I was like, it's Felicia. And she's sitting there
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: talking to that one guy from Buffy. And then you're
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: going to be like, which one? So I had to
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: double check. It's Tom link. He was Andrew Wells. He
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: was like one of the trio.
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: He was the blonde, right?
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he was the blonde.
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: He was the one who.
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: Likes to dress up in costumes on his Twitter or whatever, Instagram.
- 1:03:54Speaker 8: I'm sure. I'm pretty sure he does these knockoffs. He'll
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: have somebody on the red carpet wearing something ridiculous, so
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: he'll figure out a way to make an outfit that
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: is as thrown together and weird as possible to match
- 1:04:11Speaker 8: their outfit.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I mean, based on the hour or so I spent
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: with them the other day, that sounds about right, actually.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: But yeah, so they were just hanging. And what's funny
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: is like she calls it out in the middle. She's
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: just like, yeah, this is how bored I am. I
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: haven't talked to you in like years. Like I'm scraping
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: bottom of friends that I haven't talked to in forever
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: to go hang out because I have nothing to do.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I was like, damn, she just said that out loud.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: She's like, hey, Tom, we haven't seen each other in
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: a long time.
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: Like.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Let's go to London. So they both are sitting in
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: front of their computer and then they start like, like,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: cause I think they've both been there. She's definitely been there.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: And he had like a show playing there or something.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: So like they both kind of know references, but then
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: they were like, first they're like, what hotel are we
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: going to stay at? So they're picking like the most
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: high end hotels. And then they're like, nah, screw that.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Let's find this one. So then they're looking at like
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: ghetto hotels. So they're, Then they're going to like shops
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: she wants to go shop at and like places to
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: go get tea. And I was like, fuck tea. But yeah,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I don't know. They were like going to all these
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: weird little spots, but they'd like put in the address
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: on Google and then like Google Maps their way into
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: the street and then be like zooming around London streets
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: through a Google Maps. And it was more entertaining than
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I feel like it should have been.
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: They had nothing else to do.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: They really didn't. And the thing is, I also obviously
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: didn't because I saw the link and went, all right, fine.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: And then I spent well over an hour watching them
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Google each other on the London app.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: It's ridiculous. There were a few places that I was like,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: you know, if I went there, I would go to
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: that place. That looks cool. So they. There were a
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: few random places, all of which I couldn't afford. Even
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: if I can magically afford to go to London, I
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: then could also not afford to go to any of
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: these places that they went.
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: I just sent you a link to his Instagram page.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: So later you can look at it and see what
- 1:06:09Speaker 8: I'm talking about.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: But yeah, it sounds about like all of his stories.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: It does seem like something he would be doing with
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: his time. And it also, again, it did because I
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: thought I was like, you like Felicia. I was like,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: you might like this. But I knew as I was watching,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, Misty's going to be so pissed about
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: these places. They're looking at food. Because it was the
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: most fancy ass, tiny portion, eaten out of a bird's nest,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: trendy bullshit.
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Like everything in this one restaurant was like the most artsy,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: pretentious bullshit with like one half of a bite portions.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: But it looked awesome.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: Amazing.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I was just like, bullshit. Give me a sandwich, damn it.
- 1:06:54Speaker 8: That will not even satisfy my pre-drink hunger.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: So I knew you would be pissed by the food,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: but otherwise she was a delight to virtually hang out
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: with the other days.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: She's adorable.
- 1:07:06Speaker 8: She's so delightfully weird. I like her.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: She's so dorky. It's just wonderful.
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: Yup.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: So that's what I did the other day that I
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: thought was sort of a nice tie-in to Number one,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: geek activities, but also the state of the world we
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: live in that everyone is so bored at home that
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: they're going on virtual trips to other lands, other places. Yeah,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: this is what we've come to.
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: I'm ready for it to be going to normal.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I just, yeah, I'm kind
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: of sick of it. I got to say mostly the,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I don't know. I, I, The most, as I said
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: on the last episode, I surprisingly saw someone in the
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: real world and recorded. I was like, the rest of
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: the basics haven't changed. Like I don't interact with people
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: normally if I can help it. The only time I
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: talk to people is on the show. So when we
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: do this, I'm back to normal. So yeah, it's just
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: that I can't go anywhere apart because that's the only difference.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Like I still am stuck going to work and I
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: am isolated every moment of my life. So yeah. Yeah,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: I just can't.
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: We can't draft it because we still got to do
- 1:08:14Speaker 8: the work shit. Then we don't get the fun shit.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: We don't get to be stuck at home and be
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: bored and watch 48 hours of television continuously. But yet,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: we also can't go anywhere.
- 1:08:23Speaker 8: Do you have any idea how long this podcast would
- 1:08:26Speaker 8: be if I didn't have to go to work and
- 1:08:28Speaker 8: could watch shit all day long?
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Oh, that's a blessing for all of us probably. Because
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: then I would just have to go through the blow
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: by blow. Again, this is how bored I was. And
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: this isn't a slam on the show.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: No.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: I came to like, I realized it really is a
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: good show. I always liked it. But the other day,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: I think I was sick of whatever was on me
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: TV and I switched to antenna because these are the
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: things I watch all day. And I just kind of
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: had it on like it wasn't actively, which is half
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: of the things that are always on. I don't really watch.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: It's just the TV's always on. it was like 10
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: hours of news radio and I like news radio Dave
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Foley's awesome I spent the whole day going damn it
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I miss Phil Hartman so much like he was so
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: damn funny so yeah it's like but you know after
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: like two three episodes I got past the oh, I
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: like this guy. I like that guy. This is great.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: And then nine hours went rolling past, and I was
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: just like, oh my god, this is still on. Will
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: you guys play something.
- 1:09:28Speaker 7: Else now, please?
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: This is what's come of the world, damn it.
- 1:09:33Speaker 8: Me with my dead people shows, I watch ID Channel.
- 1:09:37Speaker 8: When I'm not watching shows that are actually on the list,
- 1:09:39Speaker 8: I watch so many ID Channel shows.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: It's ridiculous.
- 1:09:43Speaker 8: Do you have a smart TV or like a Roku
- 1:09:46Speaker 8: or anything?
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: No, that's what I wish I would have bought before
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: this started because most of the stuff, I was streaming
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: things through an old DVD player and now it like
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: quit working on most, like all the other stuff fell
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: off so I can still get Netflix. But other than that,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: everything else doesn't work on it anymore as far as
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: streaming things. I just need to get like a Roku
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: or something. So, cause I've got streaming services, but now
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I have to watch stuff on the laptop, which is
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: kind of a pain and not really the theatrical experience
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I'm looking for.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: So.
- 1:10:21Speaker 8: I was going to recommend Pluto cause Pluto's free stuff
- 1:10:24Speaker 8: and they got so much shit on there. That's so
- 1:10:26Speaker 8: good at just leaving on the background.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Cause now they've got a, what is it? I
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: can't even pronounce it. It's in Japanese. It's on the
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: tech show. But all they play all day long is
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: like Ultraman, Ultra 7, Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, like the
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Japanese Power Rangers. They call them Time Rangers and stuff
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: like that. So it's all just it's all those shows,
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: 24 hours.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Crazy people in suits kicking at each other.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much.
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: They've got a constant Mystery Science Theater always on.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard that's an option on one of the
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: streaming setups out there.
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: They have one.
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: It was Roger Corman weekend today on Shout TV. They
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: have a channel where they just show stuff constantly. That's
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: pretty great.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: And then they have movies on demand that are free.
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: So they have like like a whole bunch of movies
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: on there.
- 1:11:31Speaker 8: Um, they do show commercials that don't, they don't really
- 1:11:35Speaker 8: time it to where commercial should be in shows. Yeah.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: It's kind of weird, but it's still, it's, it's still free. So,
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I mean, I like, I watch hackers a lot cause
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: I fucking love hackers.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Just the movie on a loop.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: The movie hackers. I fucking love the movie hackers.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not going to argue. It's, it's awesome.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: And it's own special hackers way.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: Fuck what?
- 1:11:58Speaker 8: Your surf channel?
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, surf channel. I watch the surf channel all the time.
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: You and Oscar sit and watch the surf channel together?
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't do that as much as we used
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: to because now I'm watching more of the monster.
- 1:12:09Speaker 8: Does it scare him? Does it intimidate him?
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: He's Gamera. He doesn't have to worry about that.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: It's his turtle. He's watching TV with his turtle.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I watch TV with my turtle.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: In case you were wondering what the hell we're talking about.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We used to sit and watch a
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: surf channel.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Now he can be a flying turtle and he can
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: attack people.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he can be a flying turtle. He can have dreams.
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: Aspirations.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Aspirations, yeah.
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: One day that could be him.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: I was also watching Buckaroo Banzai.
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: Without me.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: They've got that on there.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: That one's awesome. In ways that I wasn't even prepared
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: for because.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: I think I watched it much later in life. Like
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: I remember it kind of on when it was originally out.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: And then like, I was kind of like, whatever.
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: I saw it was originally out and I loved it.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: I thought it was awesome. And then I went back
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: and watched it and I was like, God, this is
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: cheesy as hell. Why did I like this? Then I
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: watched it again and then I was like, holy shit,
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: this is genius.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: That's where I landed. I remember it kind of on
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: as a kid, but I wasn't paying attention. Then I
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: went back and watched it in recent years. I was like,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: this is amazing.
- 1:13:26Speaker 8: I just bought it on Blu-ray and I was so
- 1:13:28Speaker 8: excited to watch it. Boyfriend's like, I just watched that
- 1:13:30Speaker 8: the other day. I'm like, what the fuck?
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Well, I didn't know you wanted to watch it. If
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: it's on TV, it'll just be in the background. And
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: I'm not watching stuff all the way through because I
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: don't have time to watch movies all the way through.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: What the fuck else are we doing? Because when I
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: get home from work and eat, I've only got maybe
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: an hour or something while I'm eating or less than that,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: then you get home.
- 1:13:57Speaker 7: And then it's nap time.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and then it's nap time.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's mine the rest of the week. I just
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: know I'm going to fall asleep, so I don't even
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: attempt to watch anything. That's why I don't get it
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: through anything, because I'm tired. I just want to go
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: to sleep.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Maybe on the weekends I can work in a couple
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: of movies.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I just put it on YouTube. I listen to
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: a lot of Synthwave, so I just put it on
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: some Synthwave, you know, or New Retro Wave.
- 1:14:20Speaker 7: And just sleep.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, just nap. Just nap to the soothing sounds of
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Synthwave or Chillwave or whatever.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Whatever I want to listen to.
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: But yeah, I'm excited about watching Buckaroo Bonsai since I'm
- 1:14:35Speaker 8: the only one who hasn't seen it. And I do
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: adore Clancy Brown so much.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: You haven't seen it?
- 1:14:41Speaker 7: Never.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: Oh, I thought for some reason I keep thinking you've
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: seen parts of it.
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: Never.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: Okay. Well, we'll sit down and watch it tonight.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Young, studly Peter Weller. I don't think you're prepared for this.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Peter Weller was pretty cool. Pretty cool looking back
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: in the day.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: It's going to be like a shock when you see
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: what I, last night, he sent the message to Misty.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I was like, oddly enough, Peter Weller is the villain
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: on this week's episode of MacGyver.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Like what?
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: The current era running on primetime MacGyver with that weird
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: young blonde guy.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Really? What is he like 90 years old now?
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: He's like skinny. He's like an old guy skinny. And
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: then like his head is completely shaved. And he's the
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: bad guy. And I'm like, you know, he's still Peter Weller.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: He's still a badass. He's just an old bald-headed badass now.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: But yeah, I was not prepared for that. I had
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: not seen him probably since I saw him in the
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: real world. It had been several years. And I'm like, oh,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: I haven't seen the bald-headed version.
- 1:15:39Speaker 8: And you saw the other guy that Boyfriend's a fan
- 1:15:41Speaker 8: of in your other show.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: The Damascus or.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: What? Mark Dacascos?
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: There we go. That guy. He's some kind of villain
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: on the new Hawaii Five-0, too.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: So it's good to be a villain in network TV shows.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I'm guessing it pays better than most things out there still.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I like the Cascos. I didn't like
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: his role in the new John Wick movie.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: I mean, again, anybody... I'm trying to remember where he
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: falls into it. Isn't he after the midway point?
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: He's at the end. He's like the bad guy.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. The end of that movie dies
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: for me. I don't know. It comes to a screeching halt.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: That whole movie.
- 1:16:26Speaker 8: Okay, we watched that one before the apocalypse came.
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: That movie.
- 1:16:30Speaker 8: I have never been as disappointed in a movie as
- 1:16:34Speaker 8: I was with that movie because number one was awesome.
- 1:16:37Speaker 8: Number two was not quite as awesome. And number three
- 1:16:40Speaker 8: was just not awesome at all.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: I still think that first half is amazing. Like stunt wise,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: like crazy planned out places to kick people in the face.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: But like, no, by the time he hits the desert,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: it comes to a screeching hall.
- 1:16:55Speaker 8: It didn't even, it didn't even have enough go to
- 1:16:58Speaker 8: get to a screeching hall by that point. Cause it was,
- 1:17:00Speaker 8: the fighting was just boring. The fighting was just like, Oh,
- 1:17:04Speaker 8: I'm just going to kick this guy in the nuts.
- 1:17:06Speaker 8: The end.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it seemed the fight choreography seemed different than the
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: first two. I mean, it seemed vastly different.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I think it's the same people.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: It's the same people. But they went a different direction
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: with the fight choreography because the first one and the
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: second one, like the first one, they did a lot
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: more his fighting style is a lot different this one
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: is more the third one is so much more flashier
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: like traditional action like Jean-Claude Van Damme it seemed.
- 1:17:43Speaker 8: Like a lot of alright are we in the right
- 1:17:44Speaker 8: pose are you getting ready to kick me in the
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: right spot there was too many.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Like there was yeah like I said it was like
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: traditional martial arts movies where everything's so choreographed but it
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: didn't flow well it did not flow at all.
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: It seemed very much like the old Kung Fu movies
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: where the guys pause and, you know, they were like, Oh.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: Wait your turn. Wait your turn. Now you fight. Yeah.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:18:12Speaker 8: And Jesus fucking Christ. How many windows do they have?
- 1:18:19Speaker 8: Like we have all this money for a window budget.
- 1:18:21Speaker 8: How many windows can we break? Every fucking window.
- 1:18:24Speaker 7: It's like, Oh, come on.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: A world record. They're trying to go for a record.
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: The dialogue was awful. It was kind of cheesy in
- 1:18:34Speaker 8: some points in the first two.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: I was going to say, none of them are known
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: for their dialogue.
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:39Speaker 7: But it was just so bad.
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: It was just so horrible. It was pretty atrocious.
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I don't know. A guy gets killed with a book.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: I'm on board with this movie.
- 1:18:49Speaker 8: Oh, my God. because i said the first two i
- 1:18:52Speaker 8: fully enjoyed third one i was just like i'm done
- 1:18:55Speaker 8: i don't just know i just.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Think it gets so boring at that at the halfway
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: point like i feel like all those good like gimmicks
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: that they set up oh yeah I love the first
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: I think the first one is legitimately a great movie
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: like I think just it it has a character arc
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: like it has reasons for him being this way like
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: it's not just action and by the second one they're
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: like well we're over that but we like him kicking
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: people in the face so like the second one's fun
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: and then the third one again like I that first
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: half I think is fun I mean we get crazy
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: horse kicking people in the head and we get death
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: by book and knife fight that everything in that antique
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: shop is fun but like yeah anytime as soon as
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: he hits the desert and just like oh lord why
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: is he still wandering around and like.
- 1:19:42Speaker 7: I could have done without Halle Berry I.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Like the dogs I like dogs attacking people that was
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: fun but yeah everything after that just slows down.
- 1:19:55Speaker 8: Like I said I just never fully got even when
- 1:19:57Speaker 8: they were fighting in the end or the place at
- 1:19:59Speaker 8: the beginning I was just like it just didn't feel
- 1:20:02Speaker 8: like it was going very well. It just felt over-choreographed
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: to the point where nothing felt natural anymore. It didn't
- 1:20:08Speaker 8: seem like a real fight, where at least in the
- 1:20:10Speaker 8: first two, it goes together so well, it seems more.
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: Real. You know it's a movie, and you know it's
- 1:20:18Speaker 7: not going to fucking happen that.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: Way, but.
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: It felt more better. It felt more better.
- 1:20:25Speaker 8: There we go.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: At least I didn't have to watch Common. This is
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: He got on my nerves in the second one.
- 1:20:34Speaker 7: I don't even remember.
- 1:20:36Speaker 8: Which character was he in the second one?
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: He was like the big guy. Again, this big build-up.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: He's such a badass, just like John Wick. I'm like, no,
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: you're not. Stop. Just stop. You're not. I don't know.
- 1:20:48Speaker 8: The third one sucks so bad it kind of erased
- 1:20:51Speaker 8: some of my memory of the first second. I'm just like,
- 1:20:55Speaker 8: I don't... If they come up with a fourth one,
- 1:20:57Speaker 8: I don't even know if I care.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure the fourth one is coming. As much
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: money as they've made, why would you not do another movie?
- 1:21:06Speaker 8: All right.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Well, this is where we work our catch up. It's
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: been a long time and I knew it wasn't going
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: to be any quick turnaround the way the world's going.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: So I figured we better do it this way.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: I've rambled on incessantly and.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: A lot of bad.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Words so it's like every episode you've ever been.
- 1:21:29Speaker 8: On so that's not changed too much that is your
- 1:21:33Speaker 8: one safe haven in the crazy world is that misty
- 1:21:36Speaker 8: will always ramble and always say bad words.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: There you go see and that's why i thought if
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: i was gonna do this like visiting with the gang
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: i should kick it off with you too you're the
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: the most old school of all of our gang members so.
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: And I figured nobody else quite agreed to it.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: There's at least one that's signed on. They just can't
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: do it right now. So I was.
- 1:22:01Speaker 8: Like, we're the second choice.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: No, they just already, they were on board with the
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: idea because they were already on this thing. Like, so
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, when are we? All right, next, whatever.
- 1:22:14Speaker 7: I don't care.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: So I was like, good. In the meantime, we can
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: kick it off in style. with the old school people.
- 1:22:25Speaker 8: It's exhausting staying home and doing nothing all day.
- 1:22:27Speaker 7: Isn't it though?
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: I'm ready to take a nap right now.
- 1:22:32Speaker 7: It's like I do nothing and it's like all I
- 1:22:33Speaker 7: want to do is take a nap and eat.
- 1:22:36Speaker 8: I'm going to be somebody even more fatter than I
- 1:22:38Speaker 8: already am by the time this apocalypse is over.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: By the time it's done, it's just a bunch of
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Jabba sitting in their house. Whoa! More television!
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: We're turning into Wally during this next year.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: We kind of are, actually. As soon as I get
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: my flying chair, everything's all going to be great.
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: Oh, dude. I told boyfriend last week, I'm like, we've
- 1:23:02Speaker 7: done nothing today.
- 1:23:03Speaker 8: Why do I need to nap? I haven't done anything.
- 1:23:06Speaker 7: I haven't even left.
- 1:23:07Speaker 8: I'm still in my jammies.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: It's annoying that it goes by just as fast too.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Cause I'm like, I didn't even have, like, I didn't
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: feel like I accomplished anything today, but I was just like,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: how did it already get to be this late? Like
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I'd done nothing. And still time flew by like this sucks.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Like I don't even have a chance to not accomplish
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: what I was not going to accomplish. Damn it.
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: I went to the grocery. That's all I had. I
- 1:23:30Speaker 8: hated going to the grocery, but I went. And I
- 1:23:35Speaker 8: wasn't happy about it. And I'm still not too happy
- 1:23:37Speaker 8: about it.
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: But I did it.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: But I'm on the yard. So it was a good trade-off.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: That's almost a thing. See, you accomplished something.
- 1:23:45Speaker 8: I sat on the porch for a little while, laughing
- 1:23:48Speaker 8: at that girl. She fell off her bike.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Well, there you go. You've really had a life-changing moment.
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: We were helpful today. We did our good deed. We
- 1:24:00Speaker 7: helped some girl catch her dog because it went in
- 1:24:02Speaker 7: our yard.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Last week when I was walking but it was like
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: a puppy and it went darting past me and I
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: was just like do you want me to it was
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: like little kids so I was like I don't want
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: to tackle your dog man I don't you guys have
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: a handle on this right so.
- 1:24:18Speaker 8: There was this girl very leisurely trying to catch her
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: dog walking down the street it's a wiener dog so
- 1:24:23Speaker 8: it's not going anywhere too.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Fast yeah he can catch a wiener dog.
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: But it made it like from the apartments up the
- 1:24:29Speaker 7: street to our yard and I think she was looking
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: at the tree.
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: For it.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Think she knows how dogs work.
- 1:24:37Speaker 7: I think she thought it went into the bottom of
- 1:24:40Speaker 7: it or around it because she was like, oh, we're
- 1:24:41Speaker 7: the trail.
- 1:24:42Speaker 8: I think it went in our backyard.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Did she think it's a squirrel?
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 1:24:46Speaker 7: A rooster. Maybe it's a rooster.
- 1:24:48Speaker 8: Which, by the way, there's another rooster in our neighborhood.
- 1:24:51Speaker 8: I can hear that motherfucker.
- 1:24:53Speaker 6: Oh, God.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Well, now we know there's no hope for humanity.
- 1:25:01Speaker 8: At least we can't hear it when we're in the house.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's all that matters.
- 1:25:05Speaker 7: I don't think I have anything. Have I rambled enough?
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: I'm sure we've covered more than enough for this episode. So,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: anything else to pass along in case we all get
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: wiped out before you make your next appearance?
- 1:25:20Speaker 8: Stephen McCaddy should be in more things. He's getting up there.
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: He needs to do some more stuff.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Alright, there you go.
- 1:25:28Speaker 7: Get on that, people.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: If we ever get to make movies again, put Stephen
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: McCaddy in.
- 1:25:36Speaker 8: If I ever made a movie, I'd put him in there.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Well, at this point, everything's on hold. So hopefully they'll
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: get to continue making movies and then we'll get to
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: watch new movies somewhere down the line.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: I don't know that I have anything else.
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Then I guess we can round this one out. Otherwise,
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: that about does it. We will return next time. Same
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: Bye.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: Stay safe out there in the world.
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: I don't want to work. I wanna bang on the
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: drum all day.
- 1:26:33Speaker 9: I don't wanna play I just wanna bang on the
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: drum all day Ever since I was a tiny boy
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: I don't need no candy, I don't need no toy
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: I took a stick and an old coffee can I
- 1:26:50Speaker 9: bang on the thing till I got blisters on.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: My hand Because I don't wanna wait.
- 1:26:56Speaker 9: I want to bang on the drum all day.
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: I don't want to play.
- 1:27:07Speaker 9: I just want to bang on the.
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: Drum all day. When I get older, they think I'm
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: a fool. The teacher told me I should stay at
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: the school. She caught me pounding on the desk with
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: my hand. The licks were so hot, I made the teacher.
- 1:27:27Speaker 9: Wanna dance And that's why I don't wanna work I.
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: Wanna bang on the drum all day.
- 1:27:36Speaker 9: I don't wanna play I just wanna bang on the
- 1:27:40Speaker 9: drum all.
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: Day I don't want to play.
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: I just want to bang on the drum all day.
- 1:28:03Speaker 9: American Horror Story. I don't know why I can't say
- 1:28:09Speaker 9: it still.
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: But yeah.
