  to recap what happened over the weekend for the Huskies and look ahead to what's

  going to happen this weekend when they play FIU the Panthers. They play the

  Panthers back to back weeks, that's unusual. I'm Mike Crispino and coach with

  got to think ahead. And you've got a three game homestand here do you

  even let yourself think that or do you say, let's just get something done

  here in this first game at home. No, I don't look down the

  road. I think the best thing you can do is focus squarely on what's
• 0:40
  in front of and that's FIU at home. And then the world kind of
• 0:46
  ends and restarts when you talk to the team after the game on Saturday,
• 0:51
  and then you've obviously seen them since in the next couple of days. I

  know you have to Obviously you're a positive guy anyway, but you got to
• 1:00
  take what happened and turn it somehow positive. What goes on when you kind
• 1:04
  of do that, when you're trying to find what you're going to hang your
• 1:07
  hat on here going forward this week. Well, I'm not sure that you
• 1:11
  have to be positive. I think you have to be honest. I don't
• 1:18
  think you should be negative though, you know, but I think you have
• 1:21
  to be honest. I think you have to be brutally honest. But you
• 1:23
  also, as a coach, you have to earn the right to do that
• 1:25
  by having been honest with him in the past, so that they trust you
• 1:26
  and they trust what you say. I think that you know, hard cold
• 1:34
  reality is what it is. I mean, you know, I talked to
• 1:37
  the team, told the media earlier this morning that you know, I haven't
• 1:45
  seen I didn't expect this because I've seen the way we've worked, the way
• 1:49
  we've practiced, the commitment they've made. But the reality is is this is
• 1:53
  who we are, because that's what our record and the score say. And
• 1:57
  but I know that we've been in this situation before, and I know that
• 2:01
  if we do the things that are necessary, and we apply less the lessons
• 2:07
  learn, and we recommit and and and stay focused and stay you know,
• 2:13
  as you said, positive in our expectations, that will dig ourselves out of
• 2:17
  it. I think the thing that surprised me a little bit, and I'm
• 2:21
  sure you'll have an opinion on this. You brought a lot of guys back.

  I mean you have an experienced team to some degree here. I mean
• 2:27
  guys with you last year and won games, got to a Bowl game.

  U. Does that surprise you a little bit that that with the group you

  have, it's not a young bunch that you're trying to figure out what to

  do with theres a lot of guys are with you last year. Is that

  a bit of a surprise. Uh? Yes, But I also have to

  I also have to keep in mind, you know where this program has been

  before we got here. I wasn't here. But you know, I think

  expectations, our expectations should be high. There's a reality to life that you

  can't look past. And we're not making excuses and we're not saying it's so

  cool, it's it's okay that we're owing to. I've never been owing to

  in my head coaching career before, so this is new for me. But

  I also think that as you know, as I said, you know,

  six and six isn't very good in my mind. So everybody that got all
• 3:29
  fired up and excited and that the worm had turned and Yukon football is on
• 3:32
  track. You know a little bit of dose reality. It doesn't happen overnight,

  and it takes time, and it takes hard work. Unfortunately, these
• 3:42
  kids are willing to put the work in. Yeah, listen, there's a
• 3:46
  reality here. Let's let's remember where we were a year ago today and listening
• 3:53
  to some of the players after the game, and we're going to talk to
• 3:55
  stand Cross and Justin Jolie a little later in the show. They still have

  a belief. I mean, they still think Yukon's gonna snap out of it,
• 4:05
  get back on track and all that stuff so quickly on Georgia State though,
• 4:10
  Jim again another elusive I mean if a guy didn't if a guy didn't

  have that belief, then we don't want him here. You know what I
• 4:16
  mean. They have They should have that belief because they've worked hard and they
• 4:20
  believe in each other. We just have to do a better job as an
• 4:25
  entirety coaches, players, everybody involving the program of you know, making sure
• 4:33
  we're doing the right things and learning lessons and then applying those lessons going forward
• 4:39
  and correcting mistakes and not remaking mistakes, and I, you know, they
• 4:42
  should have a they should feel we've lost two games, there's two games,
• 4:46
  there's ten games to go, so you know, I don't I don't know
• 4:51
  why anybody would feel like it was over except for the culture. Here has
• 4:58
  been a culture of using football for several years, and you know, I
• 5:02
  don't really come from that background, so I don't think that way. Injury
• 5:09
  update, tell us about the quarterback Joe Finiano. We ran the ball nine
• 5:13
  times the other night through four for nine, but then injured himself. It
• 5:16
  looks like a shoulder injury. What's the latest. What do you do going
• 5:19
  forward? He's out for the season. Who'll have surgery on Friday. Take
• 5:24
  Kwan's our starter and we're gonna ride with him, and we're excited about him.

  Came in, he gave us a boost. Kind of a reverse situation
• 5:31
  for takewon. Then happened last year where you know, he earned the starting
• 5:35
  job, got hurt the second series of the year, missed the whole year,
• 5:40
  fought his way back, just had a you know, really good training
• 5:44
  camp, tooth and nail with Joe. We decided to go with Joe.

  Take Juan stayed ready. Joe gets hurt and Take one's you know, back
• 5:50
  in the saddle, so we feel horrible for Joe, horrible for Joe,
• 5:56
  and you know, it's kind of a catch twenty two because at the same
• 5:59
  time you're excited for take On. All right, we'll talk more about Takewon
