Latest / Worldview Matters With David Fiorazo / George Carneal: The Need For A Bold Church To Speak Truth On Issues
Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity, no topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:20Friends and family in Christ, welcome, we are zipping through January, my goodness.
- 0:29What is it to early to say Merry Christmas for next year?
- 0:32For this year, anyway, that's just a side note.
- 0:36Hey, good news on the conference.
- 0:37We're going to tell you some updates about halfway through.
- 0:40We have a few speakers that we've added to the lineup, but I get to speak to some great
- 0:44guests.
- 0:45And today is no different.
- 0:46I've got my brother in Christ from the south, back with us, George Carneal, the website
- 0:51George Carneal.com.
- 0:53Make sure if you have not checked out his book from queer to Christ, it's intense, but
- 1:00that's his story.
- 1:01And there's a lot in there, and we can learn a lot from it today and what he shares because
- 1:07like we were talking before we got on the air, too many pastors and churches are not talking
- 1:13about some of these issues.
- 1:16So brother, George, thank you so much for being on today.
- 1:18Good to see you again.
- 1:19Good to be back.
- 1:20Good to see you, too.
- 1:21Yeah, so I'm just going to run down a bunch of articles that we talked about.
- 1:25Most of these, just what's going on?
- 1:28Get your take on it.
- 1:29Let's start with some good news before we get into the, you know what I mean?
- 1:33So the Isaiah 520 articles where they're calling good evil and evil good.
- 1:39So this was interesting over in the UK.
- 1:42Now we know since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Bible sales took off as did church
- 1:48attendance and people, young people in particular, Gen Z, interested in spiritual things.
- 1:54Well, over in the UK, and they tend to be ahead of us, but they're way, way more secular
- 2:00and anti-Christian than we are here in the United States.
- 2:05But they hit a sales record for Bibles last year.
- 2:09This is interesting and truth.
- 2:12So let me explain, George, and then I'll get your feedback on what you think this might
- 2:16mean.
- 2:17So, $6.3 million last year, that's the highest annual figure for the UK on record.
- 2:26And I'm going to read a quote and then I'll get your take as we face worldwide political
- 2:30and social change, including the after effects of the COVID-19 pandemic still, global wars,
- 2:37the rise of AI and growing mental health crises, individuals are re-engaging with questions
- 2:45of meaning and spirituality.
- 2:50Gen X, Gen Z, very interesting.
- 2:52I've got more stats to run by, George, but what do you think this means?
- 2:56This is the UK, which might be a little surprising if you guys have kept up with the spirituality
- 3:02or lack thereof over in the UK.
- 3:05Your thoughts?
- 3:06I think it's fantastic.
- 3:08And you know, David, like me in my own life and so many of us, when you are out there
- 3:13in the world, thinking, hey, this is what we're all striving for.
- 3:19And you find that it doesn't bring you the peace, the joy, the satisfaction, the fulfillment.
- 3:25You have nowhere else to go, but perhaps start looking inward and start researching faith.
- 3:30And I hope this will draw more people to Christ.
- 3:33And I think with COVID, that really set things in motion.
- 3:35I think it really caused a lot of people to take stock in their lives and it gave them
- 3:40some alone time at home and made them have to slow down.
- 3:45So I think what the globalism meant for evil, I think it's going to turn out to be fantastic
- 3:50for the body of Christ.
- 3:52So here's another stat.
- 3:53And there, again, a couple of these might seem to conflict with each other, but I'm just
- 3:58going to go through this, the census over in the UK.
- 4:01This is in England, specifically, in 2001, six years ago, there was a drop.
- 4:11In people in England that identified as Christians.
- 4:15So that was 70% in 2001.
- 4:20So in 2021, 20 years later, the census found that less than half, 46% of people from England
- 4:29identify as Christians.
- 4:30So very interesting that the Bible sales are shooting up in light of this past census
- 4:36that in 20 years, people identified as Christians went from 70% down to 46%.
- 4:43And now maybe there's a little shift because especially among, like I said, Gen Z, there's
- 4:49more now attending church services, especially around young men, that went from 4% up to 21%.
- 4:57Now attending church services, very interesting things going on, right?
- 5:01Yeah.
- 5:03I don't know what's driving the hunger, but as you know, David, if anyone is aware of
- 5:07what's really happening in the UK, it is being destroyed, destroyed from within, and
- 5:13I'm hoping it's causing people to really take stock of what's really important in life
- 5:17and what is happening.
- 5:19And we'll draw them to Christ through these difficult times.
- 5:23Yeah.
- 5:24A little bit more.
- 5:25And then we'll move on to the next one.
- 5:26Talk about Christian booksellers.
- 5:27Now, this is interesting because, and that's a loaded topic, I think, and we could do
- 5:31a whole podcast on some Christian bookstores, don't have stuff that's really, you know, Christian,
- 5:38but let's just go to this in the UK.
- 5:43They're seeing unchurched believers.
- 5:46Stop right there.
- 5:47So people professing to believe or have some sort of faith, probably not deep, probably
- 5:52not Bible studyers and things like that, but people that maybe believe in God, maybe
- 5:56even have given their life to Christ and have not gone any further, as far as learning
- 6:00the Bible, discipleship, understanding the biblical worldview, but they're saying the
- 6:05booksellers in the UK, Christian booksellers, they're seeing unchurched believers come in
- 6:11and requesting Bibles now.
- 6:13So that's interesting.
- 6:14Something's happening.
- 6:15We don't know.
- 6:16I'm not calling it a revival by any stretch, but here's a quote.
- 6:19It's definitely younger people, again, who are driving this.
- 6:23They're seeking some sort of spirituality.
- 6:26I think you already spoke to that, George.
- 6:29The American numbers, now let's end with this.
- 6:33This is super interesting, because as of just a few months ago, there was an 11% increase
- 6:39in Bible sales.
- 6:41Last year in America, now America already had a pretty high Bible sales, right?
- 6:46But now there's an increase, 11%.
- 6:49So you're talking about at least 11% in America.
- 6:52That means that equates to 18 million copies of the Bible were sold last year alone.
- 7:01In America, only 18 million.
- 7:04George, now that seems, that's good news, right?
- 7:07Yeah, you know, David, years ago, I thought that people leaving the church was because
- 7:12maybe people were abandoning their faith or no longer believed in God, but I have found
- 7:17in the numerous people that I've been talking to, they're leaving the churches because they're
- 7:21not being fed.
- 7:22The pastors have watered down the word, they're not telling the truth, they are acquiescing
- 7:26to whatever the agenda is.
- 7:28And I think people are really searching for real meat, the real meat of God's word, and
- 7:33they are hungering for a real relationship with Christ.
- 7:36I think the pastors are letting the flock down, and I think that's why a lot of people
- 7:40have left the church, but are searching out sermons on YouTube and other social media platforms
- 7:46and getting into the word and other ways.
- 7:48And I know of several people who do their home Bible studies.
- 7:53So it's an interesting shift, but the pastors are failing the flock.
- 7:58Yes.
- 7:59And that's another reason why some people, like you said, maybe people left church, but
- 8:03they're not necessarily leaving the faith.
- 8:06I mean, some that maybe left, quote, the faith, I question whether they were truly converted,
- 8:12truly born again and understood.
- 8:15They denied themselves, confessed their sins, they believed in Jesus, I'm not sure.
- 8:20Maybe that's for another survey, maybe George Barna, and they can do some of that work.
- 8:24But so people are leaving and have left, but another problem in America, as we've seen
- 8:30for maybe three decades, maybe more actually, is the churches, too many churches trying
- 8:36to be like the world, to attract people.
- 8:40And you don't have as much depth and substance then, definitely you don't worry about sound
- 8:46doctrine, because you're just trying to entertain, to draw people in, unbelievers, that what
- 8:50would you like in a church?
- 8:52Okay, well, that's kind of asking, that's a wrong recipe, right?
- 8:57Asking the world what they want, maybe trying to get them into your church, but then what?
- 9:00What are you going to give them once they get there?
- 9:02Your thoughts on that, George?
- 9:04Right.
- 9:05You know, you can entertain them and they can jump up and down and hoot and holler and
- 9:08act like they've got the Holy Spirit.
- 9:10But this is how you really know whether or not the Holy Spirit is moving, because if
- 9:14you leave that church and you suddenly just crash, then it was just a fleeting feeling
- 9:19of a high of jumping around and acting like a crackhead, I don't know.
- 9:23But when the Holy Spirit's really moving, I think that you just, that just lasts for days,
- 9:31there's just something that just fills your heart and fills your soul and gives you peace
- 9:36where you know you were truly fed by the Word of God.
- 9:39That's how I feel or how I sense the difference in just entertainment versus the actual movement
- 9:45of the Holy Spirit.
- 9:46Okay, now this one is going to maybe speak to what you've seen.
- 9:51Maybe we're worth doing in the public schools and what the left has been successfully doing
- 9:56by accessing young children and let's just call it grooming or discipling.
- 10:03We call it discipling in the church, but they're really making disciples, you know, for
- 10:07the left for Satan really.
- 10:09So this survey, at least 73% of Americans support parents being able to opt out of public
- 10:17school curriculum.
- 10:18Now that's up 10 points since 2021.
- 10:22So more Americans are saying, yeah, with what the craziness and sanity that's happening
- 10:27with their teaching young kids, I do agree that parents should have that right.
- 10:31Still, it's 73%, you know what I mean?
- 10:35It's up.
- 10:36So that's good news.
- 10:37And I'll just share your thoughts on that before we go on to the next one.
- 10:42I definitely want to say, David, parents, if you can get your kids out of the public school
- 10:47system and you can go to my website is George carneal.com scroll to the very bottom.
- 10:52There's a list of table of contents.
- 10:55There's a homeschooling link.
- 10:56And if you'll click on that, you'll see a lot of resources reach out to these people.
- 11:00They will help guide you in terms of homeschooling, but I used to have this information a lot
- 11:06more on my website.
- 11:07I think it overwhelmed people.
- 11:09But then the tactics that they are using to groom the children, what we know is nothing
- 11:16compared to what we don't know.
- 11:18And these liberals are never going to stop grooming these children, even though Trump
- 11:23may have tried to crack down on this, never let your guard down with these people because
- 11:28they're going to push it no matter what.
- 11:31And I know for a fact that they are not only grooming the children and still doing it,
- 11:35but they are trying to do it in such a secretive way of not alerting the parents while they
- 11:43do it.
- 11:44And I think the parents need to talk to their children and say, if the teacher brings
- 11:48up anything LGBT, trans, et cetera, start recording it, bring it home to me and let me see,
- 11:54let me see the curriculum, the paperwork they're giving you, and call them out.
- 12:00Yeah, parents need to know, parents need, and a lot of kids won't do that, but parents
- 12:04really need to work hard.
- 12:06If your kids are in the government schools, you've got to really strongly encourage them
- 12:12to let you know what they're being taught, told.
- 12:16I see you have on your resources there, public school exit, and so many others.
- 12:20They even have Freedom Project Academy.
- 12:22Imagine that.
- 12:23First, thanks brother.
- 12:24Yeah, thanks for that page on your website.
- 12:26It's homeschooling resources.
- 12:28You've got a lot of great links.
- 12:29So again, friends at GeorgeCarniel.com, just scroll down to the bottom and you see all
- 12:33those links.
- 12:34All right, 73% of Americans support parents being able to opt out their kids.
- 12:39And now 65% of Americans supported the recent Supreme Courts ruling that Catholic charities
- 12:47should have the same tax exemption that other religious charities are granted.
- 12:52So whether it's Catholic or Christian or, you know, just let's just understand that
- 12:58they're talking about the church or religious freedom.
- 13:01And before this ruling, churches or, you know, religious freedom issues were, we're still
- 13:09fighting that battle.
- 13:10We will be fighting that battle for a long time.
- 13:12But the bottom line in this particular case was they finally have the same exemption
- 13:17and they should have all along that other, quote, religious charities are granted.
- 13:23And some of those nonprofits, they're not Christian obviously, but go ahead share your thoughts
- 13:27on that, George.
- 13:29Absolutely.
- 13:30If Satanist can get a tax exemption, give it to the Catholics, Christians, and everyone
- 13:35else.
- 13:36So we're going to, we have to take a brief pause here.
- 13:39I'm looking at some other stats from this.
- 13:41But it looks like basically the surveys indicate there's a record number of Americans now supporting
- 13:50religious freedom, even sharing faith, sharing our faith, sharing the gospel in public.
- 13:56Now that's a, that's a switch, right?
- 13:59Because it used to be that we could believe whatever we want to as long as we kept it behind
- 14:02closed doors.
- 14:03But now more people may be are open.
- 14:05Maybe this is part of the Charlie Kirk effect we don't know.
- 14:09So we've got to take a brief pause.
- 14:10We'll be right back with George Carneal and more on World View Matters.
- 14:15Register now for the World View Matters Conference May 1st and 2nd in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
- 14:21Expert speakers include Alex Newman, Brianna Clawson, Olivier Melnick, Tim Chaffey, Mark
- 14:28and Amber Archer, Laura Perry Smalls, Jake Jacobs, Jay Seagard, Gary Caw, Scott Shara,
- 14:38Andy Lyge Abraham, Delta Hotel Green Bay May 1st and 2nd.
- 14:43Go to worldviewmattersconference.com, that's worldviewmattersconference.com.
- 14:51Looking forward to that, friends, and talking to more of the speakers, they're going to be
- 14:54at the conference on our podcast as we get closer to it.
- 14:58So the next article, George Carneal, is over at Harbinger's Daily.
- 15:02They do such great work and the media is such a huge issue.
- 15:07And unfortunately, even Christian media, you've got to be careful, friends, just because
- 15:12maybe something has Christian in the title.
- 15:14Oh my goodness, discernment is one of the words of the year for us.
- 15:19But this is by Jan Markelle, now she's from Minneapolis, St. Paul.
- 15:24We talked a lot in the past, Jan and I, we keep in touch about what happened when George
- 15:29Floyd was murdered, died, I shouldn't say murdered, but Minneapolis blew up.
- 15:35And unfortunately, a lot of innocent people lost their lives, a lot of people lost their
- 15:40businesses homes.
- 15:41It was just a wreck.
- 15:43And she said at that time, during that Black Lives Matter chaos, and where the police
- 15:49were told to stand down and where Kamala Harris and others were bailing people, felons
- 15:54out of prison to go back and protest.
- 15:58Markelle said Minneapolis looks like Somalia.
- 16:01She said that six years ago, right?
- 16:05So here in this article, it says, the spirit of the anti-Christ reigns again in my hometown.
- 16:11And she said, lo and behold, right now the same spirit reigns that we saw in 2020 this
- 16:16time, the accused are ICE agents doing their job.
- 16:23She said they're doing it well, but she said six years ago in the Twin Cities, a thousand
- 16:30properties were vandalized, looted, burned, or totally destroyed, along with apartments
- 16:36above these businesses and homes.
- 16:40And I mean, the media was in disbelief kind of around the country because we thought we
- 16:45had law in order, George Carneal.
- 16:49And I think that was very eye-opening for a lot of us.
- 16:52And even going back, and I hope the church has learned a lesson, but just your take on
- 16:58what's going on in Minneapolis, St. Paul, the rule of law, and just the rebellion against
- 17:03God and against, really, law in order.
- 17:07Yeah, a couple of things.
- 17:10It's interesting they can burn down a city and liberals will cheer that, but yet they
- 17:15had the audacity to scream and rail against the white Christian nationalists at the J6
- 17:20event.
- 17:22Their hypocrisy is stunning to me.
- 17:25And additionally, how they support the illegal criminals and those who are, you know, when
- 17:32you have Don Lemon walking into a church, harassing a pastor, you notice he would never do
- 17:38that at a Buddhist or a Hindu temple or at a mosque or at a synagogue.
- 17:43It's always the Christians they want to target.
- 17:46And I'm really hoping that people will really pressure Trump to make sure that he is arrested.
- 17:50Of course, we never see anybody get arrested, thanks to Pambondi and whomever else is in
- 17:55that administration.
- 17:56I don't know.
- 17:57Maybe they're on vacation, but he needs to be arrested and they need to make an example
- 18:00out of him or else this Christian persecution and harassment is going to continue.
- 18:05Yes.
- 18:06And I did see a couple headlines for Give Me For Not Having The Articles, but yeah, there
- 18:10are some news outlets, maybe conservative news outlets that are reporting that, yes,
- 18:15they are going after whatever that means.
- 18:19Don Lemon, I don't know, but he goes into a church.
- 18:23The church wasn't the issue, friends.
- 18:25We know the church is not an issue.
- 18:26He, George, you know, he's open homosexual.
- 18:30He used to be on, was it the Communist, no, he was on MSNBC, which is Marxist.
- 18:35No, he was, I think he was on CNN.
- 18:37Oh, yeah, that's what you just did.
- 18:39Okay.
- 18:40Yeah.
- 18:41So here he is now leading a group or being a vocal part of this group of protesters against
- 18:47ICE, against law and order, going into a church, a Christian church.
- 18:54They're, I think they were trying to send a message.
- 18:56I think that riled up a lot of people and I think God help us.
- 19:01I pray that people will be held accountable for doing that because that would also send
- 19:07a message the other way.
- 19:08What do you think?
- 19:09Yeah, but I'm not sure sending Don Lemon to a prison where there's a bunch of horny
- 19:15male prisoners would be a punishment to him.
- 19:18So we might want to send him to the women's prison, just giving me my two students.
- 19:22That's funny.
- 19:23That, I'm sorry.
- 19:24That's good.
- 19:25That's funny.
- 19:26I don't know.
- 19:27But yeah, he won't go to prison.
- 19:28I'm quite confident of it.
- 19:29But I mean, there should be some consequences with these people.
- 19:33But basically, what's going on in Minneapolis St. Paul, it's not going to be confined in
- 19:38Minneapolis St. Paul because there are felons, there are thugs, there are illegal aliens
- 19:43that are criminals.
- 19:45We're talking about drug dealers, sex traffickers and rapists and more.
- 19:50Even some that have committed murder in different cities around the country that ICE is trying
- 19:56to go in and arrest that the Biden administration let come over or come into our country and didn't
- 20:04even care.
- 20:05So now, Trump and the administration, they're trying to clean up some, some of the mess and
- 20:11the chaos.
- 20:12And it's a tall order.
- 20:13I don't know where this is headed, but I don't know if they have the manpower, George.
- 20:17But we need to be praying for wisdom, for our president, for the administration and protection
- 20:23for not only police, but for ICE agents and that God would somehow convict some of these
- 20:30mayors and governors that are telling the police, you know, not to obey law.
- 20:38What's on the books, the laws on the books or to go against what the Trump administration
- 20:42is trying to do with before we move on to the next one, George, any other thoughts on
- 20:46that story?
- 20:47Yeah, just find it interesting that liberals are just so outraged at the illegals who committed
- 20:52a crime by coming into this country illegally or the fraud being exposed.
- 20:57They will defend them, but they suddenly have no care or concern for the Americans who
- 21:03have been murdered by these illegals with these long rap sheets or the fact that the American
- 21:09taxpayers are being fleeced by this fraudulent system.
- 21:13It's mind boggling the liberal mindset.
- 21:17Who can understand it?
- 21:18You know, I'll tell you, I've been talking to guests about that and just the average,
- 21:22the average open-minded, fair-minded American is furious about the fraud.
- 21:29But where are the fraud protests?
- 21:31Where are the protests about this massive waste and fraud that comes from American taxpayers?
- 21:38And it's going not only to people that are not even citizens, but they're sending
- 21:43their wiring, it transferring over to their own country to Somalia and other countries.
- 21:47And I'm going, wow, I didn't realize America was that rich, generous, and compassionate.
- 21:52No, they're doing this not with our permission.
- 21:55So that's what another angle of this that makes it infuriating.
- 21:58Five minutes left, George.
- 21:59I got to jump to this other story.
- 22:00Speaking of Minnesota, this is over at the Media Research Center.
- 22:05And this is just not surprising, but we've got to continue to call these people out.
- 22:09For six weeks, Google News quietly worked to throttle coverage of the widespread fraud
- 22:18allegations in Governor Tim Waltz and the Minnesota.
- 22:22And this is an exclusive at MRC.org.
- 22:26Four out of 840 stories.
- 22:31You heard that right.
- 22:33Four.
- 22:34In one hand, one, two, three, four stories only that highlighted some of the fraud, what
- 22:41was happening under Tim Waltz in Minnesota.
- 22:45So they've done 840 stories on something to do with this in Minnesota fraud and the governor,
- 22:51but only four of those stories touched on the dirty details.
- 22:56This is, I mean, the media, obviously we have some thoughts about that.
- 23:01Go ahead, George, before I get on my soapbox.
- 23:03Yeah, that's a soapbox I can get on as well.
- 23:05I'd like to call out all those Google people as well.
- 23:08I don't understand.
- 23:09This is, was it not reported that they found evidence that a lot of these social media
- 23:15platforms were trying to influence the election away from Trump?
- 23:20Yes.
- 23:21And Trump spoke about it, but yet he sits at the White House with Zuckerberg and the
- 23:24rest of these screwballs and they just act like, oh, let's just have dinner and talk
- 23:29and have a party.
- 23:31No one ever gets arrested.
- 23:33No one's held accountable.
- 23:35And that's why nothing happens.
- 23:36That's why these people feel emboldened to continue doing the crimes that they do because
- 23:42they know Trump is not going to do anything.
- 23:45It's infuriating.
- 23:47It is.
- 23:48And you know, the media has a hold, friends.
- 23:52In fact, they are not generally, now there are some people that go into the media or as
- 23:58journalists, or whether it's big tech or whatever, with good, maybe good intentions, maybe
- 24:03just trying to do a fair job.
- 24:05But who do they answer to?
- 24:06They got to answer to their higher ups who are going to direct them to do whatever.
- 24:09And if you want to keep your job, you're going to keep on slanting the news.
- 24:12So what they're trying to do is not report, here's what happened to the public.
- 24:18They're trying to form and shape public opinion, not trying to, they are.
- 24:24We saw that for one story example during the election before 2024, in 2020, the Hunter
- 24:32Biden laptop, that was buried, that was covered up.
- 24:36And they did a survey after that of, I don't know, any voter, Democrat Republican.
- 24:41And they said, yeah, maybe they didn't know about that story, but they probably maybe
- 24:45would have looked at the corruption in the Biden administration more closely if that was
- 24:49even in the news, but it didn't make the news, the Hunter Biden laptop, until afterwards.
- 24:54And then the lies, they said it was lies, ended up to be true.
- 24:58George, two minutes, if you want to take it on this story or whatever you want to share,
- 25:03because it is a frustrating time that we're in where there's a lot of deception, a lot
- 25:07of propaganda.
- 25:08Go ahead.
- 25:09David, I think I would close with this.
- 25:11I would just say to Christians, the time is getting short in terms of being able to
- 25:16share the gospel, and even with regard to the LGBT agenda, you must speak the truth
- 25:23in God's word, even the uncomfortable parts.
- 25:26And I know for a fact, the laws that are being enacted and passed around the world, especially
- 25:32Australia, Canada, Western Europe, they with the so-called digital ID and the, there's
- 25:40something about the, you have to have permission to get on the internet.
- 25:43I can't remember what it's called.
- 25:45They're slowly trying to impose upon our free speech.
- 25:51And also just saying something like Jesus is Lord or Christ is King is going to be seen
- 25:56as anti-Semitic or hate speech.
- 25:59And Australia, I think they're now trying to make it to where you can't even suggest
- 26:03to a gay person that it's wrong that you can change.
- 26:07And I'm telling Christians, you better get bold now because the window is getting tighter
- 26:12and shorter.
- 26:13It's closing.
- 26:14It is.
- 26:15And we've got listeners and viewers in different countries, but in America, we still have.
- 26:21Thank God the Constitution, the religious freedoms that we do.
- 26:24And friends, yeah, George made an excellent point.
- 26:26Maybe this is the year.
- 26:27Maybe we can take that next step and share the gospel with our neighbor or a co-worker or
- 26:32somebody that needs to hear it.
- 26:33Be a little more bold on social media or whatever that is.
- 26:39But yeah, there's even some newspaper outlets in Minnesota that are actually making the
- 26:45semoles, the victims and not talking about, anyways, just really, again, Isaiah 520, evil
- 26:52is called good.
- 26:53Good is called evil.
- 26:54Brother, thank you.
- 26:55Goes by fast.
- 26:56Lord willing, we'll talk to you again soon.
- 26:57Thanks, brother.
- 26:58Thanks.
- 26:59Appreciate your time.
- 27:00God bless you, friends.
- 27:01And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
