- 0:01Speaker 1: He's more marks So Mark Simone show on seven tenor Wow,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey loves to get too. If you're interested in plastic surgery,
- 0:12Speaker 1: be listening. Later this hour, we'll get to the mayorll Race.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We'll get back to that and a whole lot more.
- 0:19Speaker 1: You know. The sombrero videos are the best part of
- 0:23Speaker 1: the shutdown. Don't worry about a shutdown. We have a
- 0:26Speaker 1: government shutdown every couple of years. Happens all the time.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You've been through a dozen of them. You don't even
- 0:31Speaker 1: remember any of them. Remember twenty eighteen, No, that was
- 0:36Speaker 1: the longest one ever, thirty five days. That was during
- 0:39Speaker 1: Trump's first term. So you'll get through this just fine.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But the best part was the It started with Hakeem Jeffries,
- 0:46Speaker 1: who's this pompous, way too serious, humorless guy who stands
- 0:50Speaker 1: up there and says everybody's gonna die. Well, they made
- 0:53Speaker 1: a video with him with a sombrero on and a
- 0:57Speaker 1: Mexican looking mustache and this great music. I love this music.
- 1:01Speaker 1: But you gotta go watch them. They're hysterical to look at.
- 1:04Speaker 1: They're very very Wait a minute, how do I stop
- 1:09Speaker 1: this thing? I'm playing it on my phone. I can't
- 1:13Speaker 1: stop it, but go watch them. They're up on my Twitter.
- 1:16Speaker 1: The sombrero videos of Hakim Jeffreys, of Schumer, there's one
- 1:20Speaker 1: of every Democrat. They're hysterical. Now then these pompous, humorless
- 1:25Speaker 1: democrats are all over MSNBC and everywhere going it's this bigoted,
- 1:30Speaker 1: the bigotry of these videos. It's racist, it's bigotry. It's this,
- 1:34Speaker 1: it's a he copied it from you, guys. You guys
- 1:36Speaker 1: did it to him. He copied it from you. Do
- 1:39Speaker 1: you remember there was a they tried this for two seconds,
- 1:42Speaker 1: Taco Trump. What did taco stand for? Trump? Always chickens out,
- 1:47Speaker 1: But they kept calling him Taco Trump. And they put
- 1:50Speaker 1: out millions of videos of him with a sombrero, him
- 1:52Speaker 1: with the mustache, him with the Mexican music, and him
- 1:56Speaker 1: on a taco truck. It was Taco Trump. There were
- 1:59Speaker 1: millions and millions of videos. That's where he got the idea.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He's using your technique. So if it's just disgusting and bigoted,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you guys are the ones that invented it, so blame yourselves.
- 2:13Speaker 1: In Chicago right now, there's big protesting at an ICE facility.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Crazy left wing democrats protesting ICE It's pretty funny if
- 2:24Speaker 1: you think about it, these left wing, these Democrats yelling
- 2:27Speaker 1: at the ice Curt, what are you doing enforcing the law?
- 2:30Speaker 1: Cut that out, Stop enforcing the law. It's just getting
- 2:35Speaker 1: more and more ridiculous, which is great. As you head
- 2:37Speaker 1: to the midterm elections, Democrats will wipe themselves out. Traditionally,
- 2:42Speaker 1: a new president loses the Congress in a midterm two
- 2:46Speaker 1: years in. There are exceptions. This will probably be one.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Democrats going so far to the left they'll never find
- 2:54Speaker 1: their way back to the middle and sanity. You know,
- 2:57Speaker 1: we're talking about the mayoral race last hour. Here's the
- 3:00Speaker 1: problem with Cuomo. Here's this big problem besides the fact
- 3:03Speaker 1: everybody hates him. He's creepy, besides the fact that he's
- 3:06Speaker 1: made so many enemies. You know, you notice he's got
- 3:09Speaker 1: these endorsements the union, electrical workers Union, the plumbers union.
- 3:14Speaker 1: What the hell do I care what the plumbers union thinks.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I mean, if I need my sink fixed, I care
- 3:19Speaker 1: what they think. But the political situation, I don't go
- 3:22Speaker 1: to the plumbers union anytime I'm trying to decide a
- 3:25Speaker 1: political issue. I don't call my electrician, I don't call
- 3:28Speaker 1: the plumber and ask him about so who cares what
- 3:30Speaker 1: these unions do. The big endorsements would come from big leaders,
- 3:37Speaker 1: especially in All Beany and all that, but they all
- 3:39Speaker 1: hated him. Cuomo threatened everybody who was the biggest bully there.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So the problem is he's running against this very left
- 3:45Speaker 1: wing socialist Kami mam Dami or is Al Sharpton called it,
- 3:49Speaker 1: Mam Dammy Mamdanni. And Cuomo is now running as the centrist,
- 3:55Speaker 1: old fashioned, middle of the road Democrat, which is a
- 3:58Speaker 1: total lie. He's putting on the act and it's killing
- 4:02Speaker 1: him with Democrats. Is the problem is he looks old.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He's got that same shirt that Fredo wore in The
- 4:07Speaker 1: Godfather in Cuba, and he just looks old and tired,
- 4:11Speaker 1: like an old dinosaur. And if he just ran as himself,
- 4:16Speaker 1: he's more to the left than Mam Donnie. Nobody's done
- 4:20Speaker 1: more left wing crazy things in office than Cuomo. Cuomo's
- 4:24Speaker 1: the guy that gave us no bail, no jail. Culoma
- 4:26Speaker 1: was the guy that literally just closed the prisons and
- 4:29Speaker 1: let the prisoners out. If he would just do that stuff,
- 4:34Speaker 1: he could capture these young Mamdanmi voters. You know that
- 4:38Speaker 1: would be the campaign that would win if he actually
- 4:40Speaker 1: tried that, if he just went to them and said,
- 4:43Speaker 1: you know he's talking about it, I've actually done it.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I can get it done. I'm the only one that's
- 4:47Speaker 1: actually let prisoners out. I'm the only one that's defund
- 4:51Speaker 1: I've actually defunded the cops. It'd be a campaign that
- 4:54Speaker 1: would win these crazy left wing and he's afraid to
- 4:57Speaker 1: do that for all kinds of reasons. But listen, this
- 4:59Speaker 1: is actual Cuomo video from back then when he was
- 5:02Speaker 1: the most radical governor ever. Listened to this video. If
- 5:05Speaker 1: he ran this in a campaign ad, he could win
- 5:09Speaker 1: those young social assistant to Cuomo as governor. The crazy
- 5:13Speaker 1: things he did. Wait a minute, Wait a minute, where
- 5:17Speaker 1: it's the sound here?
- 5:18Speaker 2: It is this bail system once and for all.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Wait, hang on, hang on, I'll get it.
- 5:24Speaker 2: That's whether you're rich or poor. We're gonna end the
- 5:27Speaker 2: cash bail system once in for all. We're going to
- 5:30Speaker 2: do it in New York, and we're gonna do it
- 5:33Speaker 2: this year. We have to have moral alternatives to incarceration,
- 5:41Speaker 2: strength timelines on court dates, and we have to eliminate
- 5:45Speaker 2: the racial bias that is pervasive in our criminal justice system.
- 5:51Speaker 2: As governor of the State.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Of New York.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I can't tell you how proud I am to have
- 5:57Speaker 2: closed more prisons than any governor.
- 6:00Speaker 1: In the history of the state.
- 6:03Speaker 2: And I'm not done yet.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Now, this is a radical, radical, left wing, far left guy.
- 6:11Speaker 1: If he would just go back to being himself, run
- 6:13Speaker 1: that video, run it as your campaign had, you'll steal
- 6:16Speaker 1: votes from Mom Donnie. That's how you could really stop
- 6:20Speaker 1: Mom Donnie. If Cuomo ran as himself, that very very
- 6:25Speaker 1: very radical left wing governor that he was, he and
- 6:28Speaker 1: Mom Donnie would split up that radical vote and then
- 6:30Speaker 1: be easy for Curtis to walk right in. Curtis is
- 6:34Speaker 1: finally running a lot of ads, and he's finally hitting
- 6:38Speaker 1: Cuomo with the nursing home stuff, and it's all leading
- 6:42Speaker 1: up to the debate. October sixteenth is the big debate.
- 6:46Speaker 1: October sixteenth, it'll be on Channel four. There's a second
- 6:52Speaker 1: debate six days later that's on New York one. Nobody
- 6:55Speaker 1: really sees New York One, and it's not that anybody
- 6:57Speaker 1: watches Channel four. It's not a big audience. But it
- 6:59Speaker 1: goes all over the internet. It goes viral. So if
- 7:02Speaker 1: something big happens in that debate October sixteenth. That's where
- 7:05Speaker 1: the race could change. That could be the turning point
- 7:09Speaker 1: if there's going to be a turning point. And again
- 7:11Speaker 1: I keep repeating this. The other thing is turnout. If
- 7:14Speaker 1: we get what we'll be getting the last three or
- 7:16Speaker 1: four elections, no turnout eighteen percent, turnout twenty percent. That's
- 7:21Speaker 1: where the radical left wing can win because they'll always
- 7:23Speaker 1: turn out. If you go back to the old days
- 7:26Speaker 1: of seventy five eighty five percent turnout, that's where mom
- 7:29Speaker 1: Donnie loses because all the normal people come out. It's
- 7:33Speaker 1: all about turnout. Taylor Swift album dropped last night at midnight.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Now you know it's tough nowadays you don't make You know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: in the old days of phonograph albums, what did they cost?
- 7:45Speaker 1: I don't even remember. But you know, people buy the
- 7:48Speaker 1: album or the CD. You know, they go buy your CD.
- 7:51Speaker 1: It's twenty dollars. So there's twenty dollars every sale. You know.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Now it's downloading. You're lucky if you get thirty cents.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It's all download or streaming. It's mostly streaming, so you
- 8:03Speaker 1: don't get the money anyway. Now you've got to make
- 8:04Speaker 1: all your money now by doing a concert tour. Taylor
- 8:08Speaker 1: Swift is the king of concert tours. I don't think
- 8:10Speaker 1: anybody's ever made more money on tour. She's become a
- 8:14Speaker 1: billionaire doing that. But very smart marketing, very smart business person.
- 8:19Speaker 1: So what she's done. As soon as the album drops,
- 8:22Speaker 1: the merchandising drops with it. So yeah, you can just
- 8:25Speaker 1: stream the songs and pay three cents or whatever. But
- 8:29Speaker 1: everything is being sold right now, and we don't have
- 8:31Speaker 1: any numbers yet, but she's been selling shirts, sweaters, gloves, hats, everything,
- 8:37Speaker 1: Taylor Swift, everything with the new album logo on it.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Very very smart. You know, when you're somebody like Taylor
- 8:43Speaker 1: Swift and you play Madison Square Garden. Actually she's too
- 8:45Speaker 1: big now. She plays stadiums, but a lot of big.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Let's say you're playing Madison Square Garden, big, big, big superstity.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You get to two and a half million, three million
- 8:58Speaker 1: for the concert, But the merchandising, you know, she'll actually
- 9:02Speaker 1: make five or six hundred thousand dollars in the lobby
- 9:06Speaker 1: before anybody even walks in, five or six hundred thousand
- 9:09Speaker 1: just on merchandise, just on just on the T shirt sales,
- 9:14Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff. It's become an amazing, amazing business.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So what else the Yankees Tomorrow night, that's gonna be Uh,
- 9:23Speaker 1: that's going to be the big, big, first game of
- 9:25Speaker 1: the series tomorrow night. It's actually it's four o'clock tomorrow afternoon,
- 9:29Speaker 1: four o'clock. Hey, we were talking last hour about TikTok.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Will it become safe? Will your data no longer be
- 9:34Speaker 1: in the hands of the communist Chinese? Well, it will
- 9:37Speaker 1: now be controlled by a US led group. And exactly
- 9:42Speaker 1: who is that? It's Oracle, So that's Larry Ellison. I'm
- 9:46Speaker 1: gonna sneeze in a bit. Wait a minute, Oracle company
- 9:51Speaker 1: called silver Lake and then Dreasen Horowitz and Dreason Horrowitz.
- 9:56Speaker 1: What a name. But they'll control it Under the TikTok
- 10:01Speaker 1: divestment law passed by Congress, Chinese ownership cannot exceed twenty percent,
- 10:06Speaker 1: so will be in the hands of American tech companies KKR.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That's Henry Cravison Company General Atlantic. This is a tough choice.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Who would you trust with all your data? Communist Chinese
- 10:23Speaker 1: or Silicon Valley. I don't know, so I gotta have
- 10:26Speaker 1: to think about that one for a while. Hey, it's autumn.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It's officially fall now. Of course you're all the jokes
- 10:33Speaker 1: about this pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin spice, this and that,
- 10:36Speaker 1: but it's worse than that. For instance, Trader Joe's has
- 10:42Speaker 1: this is a big thing with them every autumn, the
- 10:44Speaker 1: Trader Joe's Autumn menu. People go crazy for this stuff.
- 10:49Speaker 1: The biggest winner this season Trader Joe's butternut squash mac
- 10:52Speaker 1: and cheese. I don't know, but these are these Traders.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It's like a cult. This Trader Joe's very proud of that.
- 11:00Speaker 1: The canvas Trader Joe's bag very very cultish. The other
- 11:05Speaker 1: one is a butternut squashed loasagna that doesn't sound good either.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Another big cellar that cocoa truffles with maple syrup sounds
- 11:14Speaker 1: even worse. Autumn harvest pasta sauce. Again. You got to
- 11:19Speaker 1: be a cult member there in the Trader Joe's cult.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Maple ice cream sandwiches, eh, salted maple cold foam creamer. Again,
- 11:28Speaker 1: none of this sounds good. Maple spice nut mix, maple
- 11:32Speaker 1: and sea salt, cattle corn. But this is very, very
- 11:36Speaker 1: very big with the Trader. Trader Joe's crowd. Costco, same thing.
- 11:41Speaker 1: They all go crazy about certain things there, but they're
- 11:44Speaker 1: bringing back some of the fan favorites. Costco. You know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: their store brand is Kirkland. Kirkland is the town they
- 11:52Speaker 1: come from. Costco the signature butter cinnamon sugar loaf, which
- 11:59Speaker 1: comes in ghost But apparently people go crazy for this.
- 12:01Speaker 1: It's the most addictive thing in the world, butter cinnamon
- 12:04Speaker 1: sugar loaf, and whenever it shows up on the shelves,
- 12:09Speaker 1: people just line up for it. It's only nine to
- 12:11Speaker 1: ninety nine, it's they point out, it's not the healthiest
- 12:17Speaker 1: thing in the world. Nearly a full stick of butter
- 12:19Speaker 1: is baked into each loaf. In fact, another woman on
- 12:23Speaker 1: Instagram showed the loaf rolled around in melted buttered that's
- 12:26Speaker 1: how you get the coating to stick. One serving is
- 12:29Speaker 1: four hundred and ten calories, thirty three grams of sugar.
- 12:32Speaker 1: That's a lot. That's a lot. It's not the healthiest
- 12:35Speaker 1: thing for you, but nobody has. They do have great food.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You got to give it to a Trader Joe, not
- 12:41Speaker 1: Trader Joe's, but Costco Trader Joe's. I gotta live one out, hey, Harvard,
- 12:45Speaker 1: Now this is an interesting story. President Trump has been
- 12:49Speaker 1: all over Harvard and he's now got them caving in
- 12:52Speaker 1: left and right. Harvard has agreed to pay five hundred million.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And what they're going to do they're going to operate
- 13:00Speaker 1: a network, a nationwide network of trade schools. Now, you know,
- 13:03Speaker 1: one of our great sponsors is Lincoln Tech. When it
- 13:07Speaker 1: comes to these trade schools, they're a great thing for many,
- 13:10Speaker 1: many kids. This is the answer trade school. Nobody better
- 13:14Speaker 1: than Lincoln Tech. But Harvard is now being forced to
- 13:18Speaker 1: get into the game. And President Trump has said over
- 13:22Speaker 1: and over this, it's so important to have these trade schools.
- 13:26Speaker 1: There's a lot of kids that they don't need to
- 13:28Speaker 1: be lawyers or doctors. They want to be plumbers, they
- 13:30Speaker 1: want to be a h fact, they want to be
- 13:32Speaker 1: in various industries. You go to this tech school, you know,
- 13:36Speaker 1: you immediately got a career. You graduate Harvard with your
- 13:39Speaker 1: degree in liberal arts, you end up living in your parents'
- 13:42Speaker 1: house for ten years. But President Trump said, we used
- 13:45Speaker 1: to have a lot of trade schools in this country.
- 13:48Speaker 1: We don't anymore, and we need them back. So part
- 13:51Speaker 1: of the settlement with Harvard, they're going to spend five
- 13:54Speaker 1: hundred million open a network of trade schools focus on
- 13:58Speaker 1: artificial intelligence and engineering and other technical skills. Well, see,
- 14:04Speaker 1: there you go, Harvard trying to catch up with Lincoln Tech.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Pretty good. Hey, we'll take some calls in a moment.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Now back
- 14:19Speaker 1: to the.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Mark Zimo Show on wor.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:27Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Aaron
- 14:31Speaker 1: in Indianapolis erin how you doing?
- 14:34Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark spreaking of Andrew Pomo. Would it be
- 14:39Speaker 3: possible to replace him with Perry Como?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Well, that'd be great if if those of you under
- 14:47Speaker 1: eighty five. Perry Como was one of the greatest television
- 14:51Speaker 1: stars ever. He was a great singer, but the biggest,
- 14:55Speaker 1: biggest variety show in the late fifties early see, was
- 14:57Speaker 1: a big, very nice guy, lived at Long Island Sand's Point.
- 15:02Speaker 1: And uh, you remember Perry Como? Are you a fan
- 15:05Speaker 1: of his?
- 15:08Speaker 5: I was from walking him on TV.
- 15:10Speaker 1: With my dad. Oh, okay, so that while you're you're uh,
- 15:14Speaker 1: from back then? Actually remember I'm trying to remember. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: it was was at a party. I'm standing there with
- 15:21Speaker 1: Joe Namath and Matilda Cuomo comes over, wife of Mario,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and says hello to me, and I introduced her. I said,
- 15:30Speaker 1: Joe Namath, this is Matilda Cuomo. I swear to God.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And he says, your husband was the greatest singer ever.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I said, no, no, Cuomo Quoma, not como. But she laughed.
- 15:42Speaker 1: She said, I get that a lot. Let's go to
- 15:44Speaker 1: uh Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich. How you doing pretty good?
- 15:48Speaker 3: You're sitting around the pool. Finally got to sleep at
- 15:50Speaker 3: the windows open last night. We got a nice little
- 15:52Speaker 3: cool snap down here. We finally got a trade of
- 15:54Speaker 3: Joe's opened up this past Tuesday as well, So everybody
- 15:57Speaker 3: was excited. It wasn't it.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Uh point out it's Myrtle Beach. It's like also in
- 16:02Speaker 1: any suburb if anything opens, they line up for one
- 16:05Speaker 1: hundred miles. They get all excited about anything. If you
- 16:08Speaker 1: opened something, you could open a trader Joe's right here,
- 16:11Speaker 1: fifty sixth Street, everybody go, what the away? But in
- 16:14Speaker 1: the suburbs they'll line.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Up lined up around the block. And the pour and
- 16:19Speaker 3: rain on Tuesday morning, it was hysterical. It wasn't it
- 16:22Speaker 3: the Channel four that screwed Curtis last year in the debate.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Did he make any preps to have certain rules that
- 16:27Speaker 3: he's allowed to speak more than thirty seconds this time?
- 16:30Speaker 1: Ad Yeah, that's a good point. Channel four rigged the
- 16:33Speaker 1: mayoral debate last time. Early allowed a thirty second answer,
- 16:36Speaker 1: which of course is not enough time to give a
- 16:37Speaker 1: full answer. And they were trying to protect Eric Adams.
- 16:41Speaker 1: They thought he wouldn't be too articulate, and then the
- 16:43Speaker 1: whole second section yes or no answer only, which is idiotic.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It's just preposterous to have yes or no answers in
- 16:49Speaker 1: the debate, and.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Hous Curtis made any kind of points or any kind
- 16:53Speaker 3: of you demands on how the debate's supposed to be run.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Well, if you'll recall, he was on the show a
- 16:57Speaker 1: couple weeks so I said all this to him. He said, yeah,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I'll be taking care of it. So I'm sure he will.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I'm sure he will. Actually, I think they're always trying
- 17:05Speaker 1: to help, knowing Channel four, they always trying to help
- 17:08Speaker 1: the Democrats. So, Mom, Donnie's a very articulate guy. He
- 17:12Speaker 1: has no problem in debate, so I'm sure they'll loosen
- 17:14Speaker 1: up the rules. Let people actually talk this time. And
- 17:17Speaker 1: Cuomo is terrible in a debate. You know, Mom, Donney's
- 17:20Speaker 1: a fast talker. He talks like this and he sounds
- 17:22Speaker 1: like he knows what he's talking about. And Curtis is
- 17:24Speaker 1: a professional debate for thirty years. Cuomo talks so slow
- 17:30Speaker 1: that compared to these two guys, he's gonna look ridiculous
- 17:33Speaker 1: in this debate. Let's go to Jay in New Jersey. Jay,
- 17:37Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 17:38Speaker 6: Yeah, Mark, you know about the sombreros. I just think
- 17:41Speaker 6: that you know what's great about that, you know, is
- 17:44Speaker 6: that is that the Democrats, just like you know, when
- 17:48Speaker 6: Kamala Harris and Hillary Quinton put on fake accidents, if
- 17:52Speaker 6: Keem Jefferies were to court the Hispanic vote, he would
- 17:55Speaker 6: probably put on a sombrero the same way they chose
- 17:59Speaker 6: Tim Walt appeal to men. So this joke has a
- 18:02Speaker 6: lot of truth to it, and I don't think they
- 18:04Speaker 6: realize you that it does.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well, the whole fight is over paying for illegal
- 18:08Speaker 1: aliens health care. That's why the Mexican stuff. But again,
- 18:12Speaker 1: the Democrats invented this sombrero stuff. They did it to Trump.
- 18:15Speaker 1: They called it Taco Trump. They started these memes all this,
- 18:19Speaker 1: but Trump does you know, you can start trolling Trump,
- 18:22Speaker 1: but he's better at trolling than you are. Now, the
- 18:25Speaker 1: argument is, it's a president of the United States. He
- 18:26Speaker 1: should not be making silly jokes like this with memes.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And I don't know, I don't know. We're in a
- 18:32Speaker 1: different world now. I mean it is kind of wwe
- 18:35Speaker 1: kind of a presidency, but it's twenty twenty five. You're
- 18:39Speaker 1: in a different world.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Now.
- 18:40Speaker 1: He's not Eisenhower, he's not Harry Truman. He's a modern
- 18:44Speaker 1: day guy. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 18:47Speaker 1: how you doing, Mark?
- 18:49Speaker 5: Speaking of the Yankees, you don't have they got the
- 18:51Speaker 5: name the New York Yankees. No, well, they were the
- 18:55Speaker 5: turn of the last century. They were the New York
- 18:57Speaker 5: Islanders because they played way up in Manhattan. Yeah, and
- 19:02Speaker 5: circa nineteen twelve nineteen thirteen, in the offseason they would
- 19:06Speaker 5: go down south and play exhibition games. Now we're still
- 19:09Speaker 5: very raw. This is less than fifty years after the
- 19:12Speaker 5: Civil War. So the residents would down they would say, oh,
- 19:15Speaker 5: here come those Yankees from the North, and they changed
- 19:18Speaker 5: the names of the Yankees.
- 19:19Speaker 1: That's actually a very good story. Very good. Oh thanks Mark,
- 19:22Speaker 1: have a good weekend. Thanks a lot, thanks for calling. Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: well yeah, they still they all go south for obviously
- 19:29Speaker 1: spring training and Florida and Arizona and all those places.
- 19:33Speaker 1: So playoffs begin, first game Yankees, Toronto tomorrow afternoon, four o'clock. Now,
- 19:41Speaker 1: remember it used to be when did the season end?
- 19:44Speaker 1: It was like October second, the season would end always
- 19:48Speaker 1: that was it final, and then the World Series to
- 19:50Speaker 1: start like October fourth for one week and that was
- 19:53Speaker 1: the World Series. Now you got a division playoff, section
- 19:57Speaker 1: playoff of this playoff. That playoff. The they used to
- 20:00Speaker 1: call Reggie mister October because he had really hit in
- 20:03Speaker 1: the World Series. Mister October. That doesn't mean anything anymore,
- 20:08Speaker 1: you know, it's mister November. Now they have to actually
- 20:11Speaker 1: change the name. So and it's hard to believe we're
- 20:14Speaker 1: already in the postseason. But hey, when we come back,
- 20:19Speaker 1: doctor Arthur Perry will be with us, the great plastic surgeon.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I think is he coming in person? We love the
- 20:26Speaker 1: guy and it's always good. Yeah, he's coming in person. Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I don't like when they come in person.
- 20:33Speaker 3: You know.
- 20:33Speaker 1: For first of all, I mean I love the guy.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He's a great plastic surgeon. But when he's looking at you,
- 20:38Speaker 1: you can tell he's looking at you going, huh, I
- 20:40Speaker 1: could fix that. Oh, look at that. I need to
- 20:43Speaker 1: fix that. They just look at the wader. It's like
- 20:45Speaker 1: the contractor when he looks at your house. He wants
- 20:47Speaker 1: to fix everything in there. So we'll talk to him next.
- 20:50Speaker 1: If you got any plastic surgery questions or things you
- 20:52Speaker 1: always wanted to know but didn't want to be seen asking,
- 20:56Speaker 1: we'll do it next on seven to ten w R.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Let's part similar.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Well, everybody since he's in plastic surgery, everybody now Doctor
- 21:08Speaker 1: Arthur Perry one of the best plastic surgeons on earth.
- 21:11Speaker 1: You can hear him. He's got a radio show here
- 21:13Speaker 1: every Saturday at six o'clock, Doctor Arthur Perry. But he's
- 21:17Speaker 1: really good. And his website is Perry Plasticsurgery dot com
- 21:21Speaker 1: Perry Plastic Surgery dot com, and he's with us. Actually,
- 21:25Speaker 1: I hate when you're in the studio. I mean I
- 21:26Speaker 1: love seeing you, but thanks, mar I can tell you
- 21:28Speaker 1: looking at me, going oh I can fix that. Oh
- 21:31Speaker 1: that needs fixing.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Just just a few hours in the operating room and
- 21:34Speaker 4: we're all set Mark and oh look look, Mark, look
- 21:37Speaker 4: what I brought for you.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Oh no, what is that? That's botox?
- 21:41Speaker 4: It's botox. I've been threatening one day you're going to
- 21:44Speaker 4: break down. We're actually going to do it in the studio.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I cry at a flu shot. So I just don't
- 21:50Speaker 4: like this stuff. It's such a small needle. It's okay, Mark.
- 21:53Speaker 1: It is tiny. The needle he showed me is tiny. Now,
- 21:57Speaker 1: and I know a million people that get botox read
- 22:00Speaker 1: two seconds. It doesn't bother them at all.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Ten million people last year in the United States. That's
- 22:05Speaker 4: a lot of people. It is so popular. He's looking
- 22:10Speaker 4: at me. I don't know.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I will do it someday. Well, you know, we'll get
- 22:14Speaker 1: them there. Now, let me ask you a question. There's
- 22:16Speaker 1: a couple of these hotshot plastic surgeons. I don't know
- 22:18Speaker 1: that they're great. I see them in the newspaper all
- 22:20Speaker 1: the time. They're in the gossip comms, which is usually
- 22:22Speaker 1: a bad sign. But one of them, somebody calls it's
- 22:24Speaker 1: like two hundred three hundred thousand for a Facebook. That's crazy.
- 22:28Speaker 1: That's crazy. That is absolutely crazy. And you know, I mean,
- 22:31Speaker 1: the truth is, how do people get in the magazines
- 22:33Speaker 1: and on TV they get pr agents and it doesn't
- 22:37Speaker 1: necessarily mean they're the best. Some of the best plastic
- 22:39Speaker 1: surgeons I know no one's ever heard of because they're
- 22:41Speaker 1: full time faculty members. They are the best. You've never
- 22:45Speaker 1: heard of them. And yet you know the one thousand,
- 22:48Speaker 1: two hundred thousand dollars faceoff crazy Mark. Yeah, so you
- 22:51Speaker 1: don't have to spend that time. No, you do not.
- 22:53Speaker 4: That is a true anomaly in the world. And there
- 22:55Speaker 4: are only a few people that could either get away
- 22:58Speaker 4: with that or find people should I say, stupid enough
- 23:02Speaker 4: to pay that kind of money that's crazy?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Well yeah, and that's those it's those people that go
- 23:07Speaker 1: I saw him in the pay very must be good
- 23:09Speaker 1: and then they pay that kind of money. But yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 1: doctor Arthur Perry, you can you can trust him. You
- 23:14Speaker 1: want to go to him. Now, speaking of facelift, that
- 23:16Speaker 1: look at that, Mark? If I lift my face like
- 23:18Speaker 1: that looks better?
- 23:19Speaker 4: All right? Yes, yep, we gotta do it. Mark, come on,
- 23:22Speaker 4: come on, I don't have the nerve. But four hours
- 23:25Speaker 4: and you're a changed man. But four hours, well, that's
- 23:29Speaker 4: how a facelift is. Three or four hours. But honestly, Mark,
- 23:32Speaker 4: there are much simpler ways to look better. Here it
- 23:35Speaker 4: is the fall, right, we're in October. We've gone through
- 23:38Speaker 4: the summer. Everyone was out having parties and on the beach.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Now we're getting ready for Thanksgiving and and the Christmas season. Right,
- 23:46Speaker 4: everyone wants to look good, but there are some really
- 23:48Speaker 4: simple things that you can do to look good. And
- 23:51Speaker 4: people just forget the little growth on the face. Everybody's
- 23:54Speaker 4: got kind of a zoo growing on their face mark,
- 23:57Speaker 4: you know, moles and sebary character season and the simple
- 24:01Speaker 4: simple thing that you can do doesn't cost a lot
- 24:04Speaker 4: of money. You go in for a session with a
- 24:05Speaker 4: plastic surgeon and look better. You know, I looked at
- 24:08Speaker 4: some statistics. Forty percent of adults are single.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Did you know that? Wow?
- 24:13Speaker 4: Forty percent, and it goes to like forty six percent
- 24:16Speaker 4: over the age of sixty. That's a lot of single people.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Everybody's a lot of happy people too. Yeah, but everybody
- 24:23Speaker 4: wants to look better, right, yeah, you do. You know,
- 24:26Speaker 4: we we see people on TV and and in the
- 24:29Speaker 4: movies and they're not they're not unattractive, right, there's so
- 24:34Speaker 4: you know, you can make whatever judgments you want, but
- 24:36Speaker 4: the truth is we'd like to look at prettier and
- 24:39Speaker 4: better looking people. Right, So it's so simple to just
- 24:42Speaker 4: clean up the things on your skin. That's number one,
- 24:44Speaker 4: and a good skincare program that will take you a
- 24:46Speaker 4: long way to looking better.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we all know somebody with a big mole or
- 24:50Speaker 1: something's sticking out a little and that's not surgery, that's
- 24:54Speaker 1: just well.
- 24:55Speaker 4: It's it's surgery. It's minor surgery. But it's in the
- 24:57Speaker 4: office and you know, forty five minutes later it's gone
- 25:00Speaker 4: and you look so much better. The psychologists use this
- 25:03Speaker 4: term called cognitive dissonance. You know, that's where you look
- 25:06Speaker 4: at someone and there's something wrong and you can't quite
- 25:08Speaker 4: put your finger on it. But it's the asymmetry that
- 25:11Speaker 4: a mole creates, or maybe a big brown mole with hair.
- 25:15Speaker 4: You know, no one likes that. Get rid of those things.
- 25:17Speaker 4: They're so easy, and some of those could be cancer.
- 25:20Speaker 4: So you know, it's a good idea. You get two benefits.
- 25:23Speaker 4: You have a medical benefit and a cosmetic benefit when
- 25:25Speaker 4: you do those things.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Now, I could look at them here, I could see
- 25:27Speaker 1: three things I could fix you. Look at me, you
- 25:30Speaker 1: see like forty two things. Right, it's a project mark.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Now, But everybody as you get older. Look, we all age, right.
- 25:38Speaker 1: All right. So if I got a facelift like that,
- 25:40Speaker 1: it's four hours now, then what happens? How long before
- 25:43Speaker 1: I look normal and go to work.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Well, you're out of work for about two weeks, that's it,
- 25:47Speaker 4: you know, And that with masks. Yeah, maybe you get
- 25:50Speaker 4: in a little sooner now, about two weeks really, and
- 25:53Speaker 4: it's a pretty easy recovery. No pain medicine other than
- 25:56Speaker 4: til bad word now, but til and all not a
- 26:01Speaker 4: painful thing. No, it doesn't hurt afterwards. Honestly, in a
- 26:04Speaker 4: scale of one to ten of facelifts, is somewhere between
- 26:06Speaker 4: one and three.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, okay, Now these bags under my eyes, if
- 26:10Speaker 1: I want to get rid of those.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Even easier, mar Yeah, So there's some extra I'm looking at.
- 26:15Speaker 4: You've got some extra skin of your lower islands. You've
- 26:18Speaker 4: got some fat in the lower islands, your upper island,
- 26:20Speaker 4: look at your upper islands. Mark, there's extra skin. It's
- 26:23Speaker 4: almost an emergency. That's about two and a half three hours.
- 26:30Speaker 4: These procedures, by the way, under local antesesia. We don't
- 26:33Speaker 4: need to use general antesesia. It's nice, smooth intravenous sedation
- 26:38Speaker 4: like with your colonoscopy, except no tubes in the other side.
- 26:42Speaker 1: There.
- 26:43Speaker 4: It's a nice RESTful thing and it doesn't hurt, and
- 26:47Speaker 4: then you come out. You look terrible though for about
- 26:49Speaker 4: two weeks because you're bruised and swollen, and then you
- 26:51Speaker 4: look great, and.
- 26:52Speaker 1: For two weeks you got to put ice on it
- 26:54Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff. Now the ice.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Actually, interestingly, we don't use ice anymore. You shouldn't use
- 26:58Speaker 4: ice because some people gets bite injuries and there's no
- 27:01Speaker 4: benefit to it.
- 27:01Speaker 1: So you just recovering. Yeah, yeah, okay, what else? Okay,
- 27:06Speaker 1: if you're a woman breasts, now, what's the trend now?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Is it bigger, smaller?
- 27:11Speaker 4: Well, certainly smaller than it used to be. You know,
- 27:15Speaker 4: it's always funny, Mark, you know when you see women
- 27:18Speaker 4: that have these enormous implants, like I saw one of
- 27:21Speaker 4: their Kardashians, and these implants are up by her clavigals,
- 27:25Speaker 4: by her collar bone.
- 27:26Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 27:27Speaker 4: That would be considered a complication in cosmetic surgery. And
- 27:31Speaker 4: yet I've had people ask me to put implants that way.
- 27:34Speaker 4: I say, I can't do that, that's that's wrong, And they say, well,
- 27:37Speaker 4: the celebrities have it that way, it's like.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 27:40Speaker 4: You know, so now we're redefining what beauty is based on.
- 27:44Speaker 4: You know, this group of people from California who who
- 27:47Speaker 4: had bad cosmetic surgery. But you know, everybody sees it.
- 27:51Speaker 4: It's crazy. Yeah that we're talking with doctor Arthur Perry.
- 27:53Speaker 4: He's a great plastic surgeon. But there are bad ones.
- 27:56Speaker 4: So I see people I know they had a facelift
- 27:58Speaker 4: and they look phenomenal, They looked so natural. Then you
- 28:00Speaker 4: see the other one who looks tight and plastic and
- 28:03Speaker 4: like muppets, like Boca ratan face of well, how do
- 28:06Speaker 4: you avoid that? How do you know you're not going
- 28:07Speaker 4: to get that? You know, there's artistry in this. You know,
- 28:10Speaker 4: we can teach plastic surgeons how to operate, we can
- 28:13Speaker 4: teach you how to be good doctors, but the artistry,
- 28:16Speaker 4: the artistry is very difficult to teach. You know, either
- 28:19Speaker 4: you're an artist or you're not. And it doesn't take
- 28:22Speaker 4: much to pull a little bit too tight and you
- 28:24Speaker 4: look funny, and yeah, that's the hardest part to teach.
- 28:27Speaker 4: I teach over at the Columbia and Cornell at the
- 28:30Speaker 4: Plastic Surgery Residency Program, And you know that it's like ethics.
- 28:35Speaker 4: How can you teach ethics? Very difficult? Your mother has
- 28:37Speaker 4: to teach that. And artistry that's almost innate.
- 28:40Speaker 1: You can learn it.
- 28:41Speaker 4: But and that's where, you know, defining the plastic surgeon
- 28:45Speaker 4: a good or a great one, it's the ability to
- 28:48Speaker 4: create art with you as the media.
- 28:51Speaker 1: You got to have the hands. Guys. Hey, that's another thing.
- 28:54Speaker 1: If you get in botox, everybody does it now. Do
- 28:56Speaker 1: not go to the hairdresser or the dentist for botox, right,
- 28:59Speaker 1: make sure it's a plastic surgeon who knows what he's doing.
- 29:01Speaker 4: And beware of the really inexpensive botox because there's fake
- 29:06Speaker 4: stuff out there. There's there is you know, gray market
- 29:09Speaker 4: that means it comes from other countries. You have no
- 29:11Speaker 4: idea what it really is. You have to be careful.
- 29:13Speaker 4: You know, if botox costs six hundred dollars a vile,
- 29:16Speaker 4: how is it that these storefront places are charging two
- 29:20Speaker 4: or three hundred. You know, something's wrong.
- 29:22Speaker 1: And it's easier now to do plastic search right than
- 29:27Speaker 1: like thirty years ago. The equipment's better, the techniques are better.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Right, Well, there's absolutely there's refined techniques. You know, we
- 29:33Speaker 4: you know surgical techniques are are certainly better now. For instance,
- 29:37Speaker 4: the facelift that you want so much before. You know,
- 29:40Speaker 4: ten fifteen years ago, we had to make incisions way
- 29:43Speaker 4: up into the hairline. Now we don't have to do
- 29:45Speaker 4: that anymore. We figured out ways. It's a little harder
- 29:47Speaker 4: for the plastic surgeon, but better for you.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Facelift. It's not for me, it's for a friend oz oh, okay,
- 29:53Speaker 1: but take a look. That would be now what I
- 29:55Speaker 1: do my next a little saggy.
- 29:57Speaker 4: All right, So for men it's different. So for you,
- 30:00Speaker 4: I could suction out that fat. Okay, let me turn
- 30:03Speaker 4: to the sidemark. You know your chin is good, so
- 30:07Speaker 4: we don't need that. So we suction it out and
- 30:09Speaker 4: we bring those muscles together. Remember Catherine Hepburn, you know
- 30:11Speaker 4: those bands in the neck, Yeah, bring those together, and
- 30:14Speaker 4: the tighter we bring those, then you know your neck
- 30:17Speaker 4: looks slimmer and better. So that's what you put a
- 30:20Speaker 4: hole in. It puts a small incision under the chin mark.
- 30:24Speaker 4: There's no although although there is a method for men
- 30:28Speaker 4: where we actually do just excize that skin. That's a
- 30:31Speaker 4: simpler way I might have that myself. You know, it's
- 30:34Speaker 4: one of these just take out that skin right there
- 30:37Speaker 4: and place an incision in the middle. Not good for women,
- 30:39Speaker 4: but it works in men, particularly if you don't want
- 30:42Speaker 4: a bigger procedure, it's a smaller perce.
- 30:43Speaker 1: How long does that take.
- 30:45Speaker 4: It's a little under two hours, and now you don't
- 30:47Speaker 4: want the surgeon to rush. Two weeks of recovery. Everything
- 30:50Speaker 4: is about two weeks. Although if you're just doing the
- 30:52Speaker 4: neck with turtlenecks, maybe a scarf as it's getting warmer,
- 30:56Speaker 4: older out there rather Yeah, you could probably hide earlier.
- 30:59Speaker 4: You could probably pull it off in about a week.
- 31:01Speaker 4: And you know what, Mark w. R. Will set up
- 31:04Speaker 4: the studio in your home. You know, you just there,
- 31:06Speaker 4: you go, the little comrades you broadcast three days later.
- 31:10Speaker 4: What do you say, listeners, tell me tell We'll get Mark.
- 31:15Speaker 1: To do it. Oh, but uh, you know they just
- 31:17Speaker 1: banned uh. North Korea has banned cosmetic surgery.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's not something, it's it's a It must
- 31:24Speaker 4: be good if they banned oh my goodness. Yeah, breast augmentations.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Facelifts can't do it because it it goes against the
- 31:31Speaker 4: socialist agenda. That's what what's his name, Kim John.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Kim Jong Moon.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so uh, I guess if you want cosmetic surgery,
- 31:38Speaker 4: don't do it in North Korea, although South Korea very popular.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Mark.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Oh well, Now, if you need anything anything, we do
- 31:45Speaker 1: recommend doctor Arthur Perry. It's go to your website.

- 32:42Speaker 4: Let's get back to the Mark Simone Show on WR.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Well, Diddy was supposed to be sentenced this morning. Apparently
- 32:52Speaker 1: it's teken forever. We don't know what's gonna happen yet.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Prosecutors want eleven years. He wants time served fourteen months now.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Apparently that stuff being said at the trial. The judge
- 33:06Speaker 1: has been pretty clear that he thinks this guy did
- 33:10Speaker 1: horrible things, and the prosecutor pointing out Diddy has speaking
- 33:15Speaker 1: events booked for next week, the prosecutor telling the judge,
- 33:22Speaker 1: you're honor, this is the height of arrogance. You're sentencing
- 33:25Speaker 1: him the day he booked events for next week. So yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: this does look pretty bad. So it'll happen at some
- 33:30Speaker 1: point today they'll announce the sentencing. Hey, we're out of time.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I'll be back Monday. You can listen to me ten
