A 22-year-old college senior, Laken Snelling, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing a birth after admitting she killed her newborn. Found wrapped in a towel inside a trash bag in a closet, the infant died of asphyxia. Snelling, who was under immense stress and unprepared for the birth, cleaned up the scene and kept it secret.
