- 0:37Speaker 3: Here you're Pittsburgh Sailers. It is Simeon Taker at tarps
- 0:45Speaker 3: Off Pittsburgh. It's you formerly Tuesday now Wednesday morning, eight
- 0:48Speaker 3: a m. Slot and TARPSOF Radio. I am your host Mcgingji.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Beside me is your co host Pat interim producer Dub
- 0:54Speaker 3: behind the boards. For us, it was a huge win
- 0:57Speaker 3: for Coach McCarthy and the Black and Gold Donald Hines.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Last week, beers would drink, buckets were filled.
- 1:02Speaker 3: We've got an extended opening freeings guys today, trying to
- 1:05Speaker 3: cover some of the things that happened around our world,
- 1:07Speaker 3: followed by the game recap Jets preview.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Then we'll wrap it up with our first voicemail session
- 1:11Speaker 5: of the season.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Pat kick it off.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Tell us what you're drinking tonight, mcgingy. I'm drinking a
- 1:17Speaker 2: big tall glass of Captain Morgan private stock with a
- 1:21Speaker 2: little bit of Dike Cooke. My dick is as hard
- 1:24Speaker 2: as Willie Walker's cob stop or I'm ready to Agusta's
- 1:27Speaker 2: gloop all over my Steelers snuggy because we got a
- 1:30Speaker 2: Steelers victory to talk about. Mc gingy.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Absolutely, dude, ready to listen to this. Listen to this.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Fucking bust.
- 1:41Speaker 2: You ever had this, Captain Morgan private stock.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I don't know the difference,
- 1:48Speaker 3: Like I haven't had it in a while, typically I do.
- 1:50Speaker 3: But yeah, well it's a lot smoother.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I feel like it makes kind of regular captain seem
- 1:57Speaker 2: like it's kind of artificial, where like you not is
- 2:00Speaker 2: uh like they just took ram and added spices into it.
- 2:03Speaker 5: This tastes like you taste the chemicals and the regular captain.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It just it tastes like two separate things, like rum
- 2:09Speaker 2: and spices, and this is a long way spiced rum.
- 2:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Anyway, drink used to be admiral. Yeah, back when I
- 2:19Speaker 3: weren't even a captain guy for your main years, I was.
- 2:22Speaker 2: A captain guy, but admiral was twelve dollars a handle
- 2:25Speaker 2: and captain was fourteen dollars a fifth. So you do
- 2:29Speaker 2: the math store and he got down the club Aroonica.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Formerly I think it's club what four one two now
- 2:37Speaker 2: or something on Monday nights. It was all you can
- 2:40Speaker 2: drink with no cover charge. You just walk in there
- 2:44Speaker 2: and you didn't have to pay anything. It was all
- 2:46Speaker 2: you can drink for free, no cover charge. But it
- 2:49Speaker 2: was like Admiral Nelson and like Vladimir and uh, you
- 2:53Speaker 2: know all that, all that good stuff.
- 2:55Speaker 3: So you said club four one two. I thought you
- 2:57Speaker 3: were making that up. So I fact checked you In's
- 3:00Speaker 3: club for one two Gentlemen's Club.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I try to pass it on my way to Macbid
- 3:06Speaker 2: like a few months ago. So that was Erotica cutica.
- 3:13Speaker 3: You know, it's funny. It was like its twenty twenty
- 3:15Speaker 3: two ish, twenty twenty one ish. I did one of
- 3:19Speaker 3: my painters did all the paint for that place.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I painted that place myself the time or two.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I remember walking. I remember walking around the building and
- 3:35Speaker 3: you know, getting the measurements going because this guy I
- 3:37Speaker 3: had couldn't really count that well. And I'm getting the measures.
- 3:42Speaker 3: There's rat traps every three or four feet on the
- 3:45Speaker 3: outside of the building, so I guess the bottom floor.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah, those hurt, Those those ones hurt.
- 3:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I think it was the ones that you couldn't stick
- 3:56Speaker 3: a body part into like it was just those big.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Black I mean, if your body parts small enough.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You anyways, let's get to some football. We have some
- 4:06Speaker 3: some things to talk about before we wanted to go
- 4:09Speaker 3: into the packers, you know, recap. First things first, Kean
- 4:13Speaker 3: U Benton getting the extension, Pat, do you have the
- 4:16Speaker 3: official breakdown on the numbers.
- 4:17Speaker 2: On that, oh which you would have told me this
- 4:20Speaker 2: ten minutes ago when we were getting ready. I know
- 4:24Speaker 2: it was very little guaranteed money. After year one it's
- 4:29Speaker 2: it's aav average annual value is eighteen million per runs
- 4:34Speaker 2: through two thousand and thirty. But yeah, it's very little
- 4:38Speaker 2: guaranteed money. I think it's well, let's not think, let's
- 4:41Speaker 2: get specifics here, but after year two there's there's no
- 4:45Speaker 2: guaranteed money.
- 4:46Speaker 3: So no, I think it was. I think it's a
- 4:49Speaker 3: fair amount of money for Kean Hu bettans and it's
- 4:51Speaker 3: going to be a steal if he plays like the
- 4:53Speaker 3: player he's capable of playing absolutely in his correct position.
- 4:58Speaker 3: It's not like he has motor issues, you know, it's
- 5:02Speaker 3: not like he has personality issues. His issues, in my eyes,
- 5:06Speaker 3: have all been how he's been utilized, for.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Sure, absolutely and given the way the contract is broken down.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I mean, if he doesn't perform the way we expect
- 5:17Speaker 2: him to perform, it's very easy to you know, cut
- 5:21Speaker 2: him in the next two three years and very minimal.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I think it's like six million a year in dead
- 5:26Speaker 2: cap that we'd have to eat and with the with
- 5:28Speaker 2: the cap going up every single year exponentially, that's nothing.
- 5:33Speaker 2: That's that's a that's chump change.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Now that was the third steer backup that we
- 5:39Speaker 3: did sign to an extension. The full note number in
- 5:41Speaker 3: case you're wondering, two hundred and fourteen million dollars in
- 5:46Speaker 3: contracts for backups.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And no, I mean not just backups, but that's all.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I think that's all from the twenty twenty three draft
- 5:53Speaker 2: class as well.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Right, you're absolutely right.
- 5:55Speaker 3: So here's another I had a trivia question for you, Pat,
- 5:58Speaker 3: I was going to put you on the spot here.
- 6:00Speaker 3: When JP JPJ, or if JPJ signs, it will twenty eleven.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Hold on, let me finish my fucking questionnaire. When JPJ signs,
- 6:12Speaker 3: it'll be the fourth second contract from that twenty twenty
- 6:15Speaker 3: three draft class. When was the last time the Steelers
- 6:19Speaker 3: had a draft class that called four second contracts.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Go, there were three second contracts in twenty eleven. I
- 6:24Speaker 2: don't think the Steelers have ever had a draft class
- 6:26Speaker 2: with four second contracts.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Twenty seventeen, hmmm, it was TJ Watt and then a
- 6:34Speaker 3: one year deal for Juju, a one year deal for
- 6:38Speaker 3: Josh Dobbs, and a two year deal for Camp Sutton. Okay,
- 6:44Speaker 3: how many times has this happened since the year two thousand.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna say one other time, and I keep going
- 6:51Speaker 2: back to twenty eleven.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Nope, that was it.
- 6:55Speaker 3: It was just twenty seventeen, twenty.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Eleven, Okay, that was Cam Hayward, Marcus Gilbert, Curtis Brown,
- 7:03Speaker 2: Cortes Allen, Chris Carter linebacker, Keith Williams, and Baron Batch
- 7:09Speaker 2: running back.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Sounds like one of those guys got a second contract.
- 7:14Speaker 9: Okay, right, just Cam, right, that's a thinker. Anyways, Well, no, Marcus,
- 7:24Speaker 9: there were three. There were three.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Marcus Gilbert signed a five year extension and Cortez Allen
- 7:30Speaker 2: signed an extension as well. Okay, so there were three
- 7:33Speaker 2: that year.
- 7:35Speaker 5: But four, as it only happened once since two thousand.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I didn't have the research to go back before the
- 7:41Speaker 3: two thousand that was as far as my stat goes
- 7:43Speaker 3: on this one, so it could be even longer. It
- 7:45Speaker 3: simply doesn't happen. I think the JPJ situation is kind
- 7:51Speaker 3: of due, but there is. It's the water's a little muddy.
- 7:55Speaker 3: James Harrison went on his podcast the other day.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Did you hear what he said?
- 7:58Speaker 3: I have the quote?
- 7:58Speaker 2: If you haven't, No, I didn't.
- 8:02Speaker 5: He said, quote right now.
- 8:03Speaker 3: If I'm him, it ain't no way on God's green
- 8:05Speaker 3: Earth you're going to get me to practice one snap,
- 8:08Speaker 3: let alone playing a game before you give me a
- 8:10Speaker 3: long term contract. So he's essentially calling for JPJ to
- 8:14Speaker 3: hold out if he doesn't get it. He said, I'm
- 8:16Speaker 3: not gonna go out there and take a chance poping something,
- 8:18Speaker 3: tearing something, because if I do, you're damn sure not
- 8:21Speaker 3: going to give me that mega contract. Then, and then
- 8:25Speaker 3: he ends the quote with I bet you his daddy
- 8:27Speaker 3: ain't tell him nothing about stepping on that field.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, well, James Harrison notoriously good at making contract decisions.
- 8:36Speaker 5: So literally, dude, and Joey Poyter Sr.
- 8:40Speaker 3: For those who don't remember leaving the Steelers because of
- 8:43Speaker 3: James Harrison and a contract combination.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So let me ask you this McGing. I know that
- 8:49Speaker 2: you've been more critical than most. And I say critical,
- 8:53Speaker 2: not hating, but critical or hesitant to give praise to
- 8:58Speaker 2: Omar Kahn more so than most after seeing his twenty
- 9:02Speaker 2: twenty three draft class where Broderick Jones probably won't get resigned.
- 9:08Speaker 2: But then you have Joey Porter Junior, Benton Washington her Big,
- 9:11Speaker 2: and Spencer Anderson potentially as well. How do you feel
- 9:15Speaker 2: overall now about the con artist he.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Has me locked in this offseason? I finally see the
- 9:24Speaker 3: bigger picture. I see the plan. I think keeping the
- 9:28Speaker 3: majority of their draft picks this year and having the
- 9:32Speaker 3: draft that they did, I see what he's doing now.
- 9:34Speaker 3: We are absolutely building for the future. We are getting
- 9:37Speaker 3: new foundational pieces. Instead of trying to rotate free agents
- 9:43Speaker 3: in or rotate old guys in, we have been building
- 9:47Speaker 3: from the ground up. I still don't like a lot
- 9:51Speaker 3: on I shouldn't say a lot, a few of his picks,
- 9:53Speaker 3: and I'm sure I can hold my hat on that.
- 9:58Speaker 3: And you know, everything's gonna good until we went a
- 10:01Speaker 3: super Bowl, you know, and we still need a super Bowl.
- 10:04Speaker 3: So at this moment, I'm all in on Omar, you know,
- 10:08Speaker 3: But it wasn't the extensions that did this. It was
- 10:12Speaker 3: the draft that we had this year. I'm still a
- 10:15Speaker 3: little worried. You give two hundred and fourteen million dollars
- 10:18Speaker 3: to non starters.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but you got to think that most of that
- 10:23Speaker 2: money is not guaranteed. I mean, that's these are contracts
- 10:27Speaker 2: that you know, down the road we could part with
- 10:30Speaker 2: pretty easily.
- 10:30Speaker 10: You know.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It's it's it's big bet for this year and a
- 10:34Speaker 2: little bit for next year. But apart from that, I.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Agree, and I'm on, and I liked the guys we resigned,
- 10:41Speaker 3: you know, and I but mainly they gave these contracts
- 10:44Speaker 3: out not for the players that these guys are now,
- 10:46Speaker 3: it's for the players that they can be.
- 10:49Speaker 5: And when you do that, there's question marks there.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yes, but Con is a cap genius and he knows
- 10:56Speaker 2: how to work things. And I'm not worried about it
- 10:58Speaker 2: at all, because me neither.
- 11:00Speaker 5: The Cap isn't real aircraft.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I'll give you a little bit of a tease, a
- 11:04Speaker 3: little bit of a teasier aircraft. And his eye in
- 11:06Speaker 3: the sky brought the cap up in the cash, so
- 11:09Speaker 3: we will. We'll have a little bit more to talk
- 11:10Speaker 3: about it there and.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Then well, yes, the cap isn't real, but guaranteed money
- 11:16Speaker 2: is what puts you in cap trouble, right, And when
- 11:19Speaker 2: you pay bonuses out, even if you pro rate the
- 11:21Speaker 2: bonuses you're allowed to push it back over a five
- 11:24Speaker 2: year span. You can get into some trouble if you
- 11:27Speaker 2: hand a bunch of bonuses out and you know, regardless
- 11:31Speaker 2: of how you split it up, that's where the trouble
- 11:34Speaker 2: comes in. But yeah, I mean when you build contracts
- 11:36Speaker 2: like Omar Khan builds contracts, and like a lot of
- 11:38Speaker 2: teams in the NFL build contracts like look at that
- 11:41Speaker 2: Cleveland Brown's contracts. I mean it with Deshaun Watson contract
- 11:46Speaker 2: in sports history, Yeah, and it was because of the
- 11:48Speaker 2: guaranteed money. I mean, they could have given him that
- 11:51Speaker 2: same contract with you know, ten percent of the not
- 11:54Speaker 2: that he'd accept it or they'd make it, but if
- 11:57Speaker 2: there was ten percent of that guaranteed money, they would
- 11:59Speaker 2: have been able to cut ties with him, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 2: two three years ago, and it wouldn't have been a
- 12:03Speaker 2: big deal.
- 12:04Speaker 3: So and people forget pat but that contract, I mean
- 12:07Speaker 3: people thought it was revolutionary and that it was going
- 12:09Speaker 3: to change the way contracts were done in the NFL
- 12:12Speaker 3: and that everyone was going to get, you know, more
- 12:14Speaker 3: guaranteed money, and that just hasn't really come to fruition either.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's a good point. And the quarterback position
- 12:22Speaker 2: is is very much different. It did reset the market
- 12:25Speaker 2: for the quarterback position, but yeah, in terms of guaranteed money,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and the Steelers have really never rolled with guaranteeing money.
- 12:32Speaker 3: But it makes you wonder like if he panned out
- 12:36Speaker 3: and took the Browns to a super Bowl, you know,
- 12:38Speaker 3: would that contract be more popular today. I mean, maybe
- 12:41Speaker 3: it's because he was just an absolute failure and as
- 12:45Speaker 3: a play, so he kind of proved the owner's right
- 12:49Speaker 3: in that sense. But who knows. Revision is history. I
- 12:52Speaker 3: did do a little research the last few years. I
- 12:56Speaker 3: was curious about the cap and whatnot. Steer's defensive thing specifically.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I mean, once again, we're the highest spending defense in
- 13:03Speaker 3: the league since twenty twenty one. Four of those six
- 13:10Speaker 3: years we've been number one, and in twenty twenty one
- 13:12Speaker 3: we were second, in twenty twenty three we were third.
- 13:16Speaker 5: I think we're really gonna.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Need to see this defense start performing like a top
- 13:21Speaker 3: three defense.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm not saying you're wrong I have a
- 13:26Speaker 2: semi sort of devil's advocate type opinion that I hold.
- 13:31Speaker 2: But prior to that, we were the highest paid offense,
- 13:34Speaker 2: right with the Killer Bees. So I mean, it's just
- 13:37Speaker 2: sometimes it's how these things go. You know, When we
- 13:40Speaker 2: had the highest paid offense, what do we do? We
- 13:42Speaker 2: drafted a bunch of young defensive players, and then a
- 13:46Speaker 2: bunch of those players got second contracts, and then we
- 13:48Speaker 2: became the highest paid defense. Of course, he brought in
- 13:51Speaker 2: some free agents, right, obviously Pat Queen some other free agents,
- 13:55Speaker 2: But I'm not as concerned with that, considering we do
- 13:59Speaker 2: have a young offen, especially on the offensive line. But
- 14:02Speaker 2: to your point, that was a big reason trow Austin
- 14:05Speaker 2: got shit canned right as we had the highest paid defense.
- 14:08Speaker 2: He didn't have any excuse to hang his hat on
- 14:11Speaker 2: in the performance last year given the paid defense was
- 14:15Speaker 2: just unacceptable.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Yeah, anything else on contract talks, I think we should
- 14:19Speaker 5: move on.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Did you see Tomlin on the Tonight Show with Jimmy
- 14:24Speaker 2: Fallon the other night, I saw Mike Tomlin. The one
- 14:30Speaker 2: thing I'll say about this, and we don't have to
- 14:31Speaker 2: spend too much time, but he's like he's like Donald Trump,
- 14:35Speaker 2: where if he wasn't in charge of something so important,
- 14:39Speaker 2: I'd find him hilarious, you know, and I love him
- 14:42Speaker 2: so like Mike Tomlin watching him do his nonsense routine
- 14:45Speaker 2: is his ballet of nonsense was fantastic on Jimmy Fallon
- 14:51Speaker 2: when it wasn'tosite, but it wasn't just pissing me off about.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Me opposite reaction show TV sucks Like I was watching
- 15:04Speaker 3: that whole thing and it was like Jimmy Fallon was
- 15:07Speaker 3: explaining Tomlin to me like I was an old white
- 15:10Speaker 3: woman that he was.
- 15:12Speaker 2: He man, explained Mike Tomlin just it just went up.
- 15:15Speaker 3: There and explained who he was. It felt like Tomlin
- 15:18Speaker 3: was a politician. It was all the ship that I
- 15:20Speaker 3: hated about Tomlin, Like never given a good answer. He's
- 15:24Speaker 3: just up there like they had him explain Tomlinism's Pat. Yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 3: explain to Tomlinism. That's part of the Tomlinism. He's never
- 15:34Speaker 3: explained Tomlinisms. Here's what the issue is, Pat. And this
- 15:39Speaker 3: is a little conspiracy note from McGing here. It's just
- 15:43Speaker 3: NBC pushing Mike Tomlin agenda.
- 15:47Speaker 2: So on Jimmy Fallon, Now, well that's that's not I mean,
- 15:49Speaker 2: that's what it is that's.
- 15:51Speaker 5: On baseball broadcasts in the spring.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I mean, let's not let's not forget that these people
- 15:59Speaker 3: are up there because people want them to be up there.
- 16:04Speaker 3: It's not because Mike Tomlin is a great person and
- 16:08Speaker 3: is entertaining and everything. It's not because he's a super
- 16:11Speaker 3: Bowl winner. It's because someone somewhere has an agenda that
- 16:15Speaker 3: they're trying to push on you.
- 16:16Speaker 2: So they woke on our next episode of Figures Out Television.
- 16:23Speaker 2: They only had him on there because he's on NBC
- 16:26Speaker 2: and they're on NBC and they want to cross promote. Yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 2: I would agree.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Moving on to radio, WDV Morning Show did their top
- 16:35Speaker 3: five games at Heinsfield. It is the twenty fifth anniversary
- 16:39Speaker 3: today of Heinesfield. You know Akrocer Stadium. Now, if you
- 16:44Speaker 3: know what we call that, maybe it's future Cranberry Stadium.
- 16:47Speaker 3: It's a lot of idiots online have been saying today,
- 16:49Speaker 3: but TV's top five games in heines Field history. They
- 16:52Speaker 3: actually listed four games, So I don't know if if
- 16:56Speaker 3: they meant to do three or five or whatever.
- 16:57Speaker 2: And I give you mine, I'm made a list. I'm
- 16:59Speaker 2: made a list to five.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Well, let's do their top four and then we could
- 17:03Speaker 5: decide on what the fifth would be.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Does that work their top four? And then I'll tell
- 17:09Speaker 2: you what my top five are, because I put a
- 17:11Speaker 2: lot of thought into this.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Okay, I only did games. I had three here. I
- 17:15Speaker 3: only that I thought were worthy that. I only did
- 17:18Speaker 3: games I was at too.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I don't okay, I didn't do that. I did games
- 17:20Speaker 2: I was not at as well.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Well. Dv's top four was number four Steelers thirty seven,
- 17:26Speaker 3: Packers thirty six, the Mike Wallace to top touchdown in
- 17:29Speaker 3: two thousand and nine. Big Ben threw for five hundred
- 17:32Speaker 3: three yards Aaron Rodgers three hundred and eighty three yards.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yep, I watched that game. I've still I still watched
- 17:38Speaker 2: that game. I watched that game two weeks ago. I've
- 17:40Speaker 2: seen that game probably ten to fifteen times.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Yeah, incredible game. I know Mark was at that game.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Had some funny stories to tell about it.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he was with the neighbors.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I forgot about that. Number three twenty sixteen, The
- 17:54Speaker 3: Immaculate Extension on Christmas Day Injurs everywhere talk about how
- 18:00Speaker 3: they were at an in law's house and blew up.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Some people understood, some people didn't.
- 18:05Speaker 3: You know, the football ones in the room basically ruins
- 18:08Speaker 3: Christmas for a lot of other people. Number two the
- 18:12Speaker 3: pit six the return of the backyard Brawl. So it's
- 18:16Speaker 3: the old time attendance record for a sports event in Pittsburgh.
- 18:20Speaker 3: That game was phenomenal, thirty eight to thirty one. I
- 18:23Speaker 3: think the final score was.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Pat yes correct September fourteenth, thirty eighth, thirty eight thirty
- 18:31Speaker 2: four yep.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I went to Amber or I went with Amber to
- 18:34Speaker 3: that game and we sat on the West Virginia side.
- 18:39Speaker 3: We bought tickets off a stop hub whatever. It was
- 18:40Speaker 3: just in the middle of all the West Virginia people.
- 18:43Speaker 3: It was like a road game for me, Pat. And
- 18:45Speaker 3: we're walking out of the game and I'm yelling, go
- 18:48Speaker 3: Ho Mountainers, Go Ho Mountain. And some big, fucking, you know,
- 18:55Speaker 3: snipsister fucking looking moron. Yeah, some real redneck motherfucker with
- 19:02Speaker 3: a beer gut twice the size of mine.
- 19:05Speaker 2: He was taller than me.
- 19:06Speaker 3: He goes, he goes pushing into me, like pushing into me,
- 19:09Speaker 3: pushing into me, and I'm just like, dude, what the
- 19:11Speaker 3: He was so drunk, what the fuck do you doing?
- 19:14Speaker 3: And he never said one word. Usher just came, you know,
- 19:17Speaker 3: took him away, YadA, YadA, YadA. On the way out
- 19:19Speaker 3: the game, phenomenal walkout. Yeah.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I was with Intern Dube and the King of Beaver
- 19:25Speaker 2: County and I had never seen a grown man christ
- 19:30Speaker 2: as much as I saw the King of Beaver County
- 19:33Speaker 2: cry after that inception. I mean, he was bawling his
- 19:37Speaker 2: eyes out.
- 19:41Speaker 3: He's good, He's good for that, you know, you know
- 19:43Speaker 3: it's a great game when the King has tears from
- 19:46Speaker 3: what he's watching. Number one game that they had, though
- 19:51Speaker 3: obviously two thousand and eight AFC Championship Troy's pick six
- 19:55Speaker 3: to send us to Super Bowl forty three. He was
- 19:57Speaker 3: the dirty Birds. I mean, that's that's slowly becoming one
- 20:01Speaker 3: of the greatest plays in NFL history.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I would say one of the I would say the
- 20:07Speaker 2: greatest play in AFC North history because it means more.
- 20:11Speaker 2: It means more the AFC.
- 20:12Speaker 3: North, greatest play in Troy's history, greatest play of the
- 20:19Speaker 3: Big Ben era. Well maybe not.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Maybe there's one.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Other greatest play in Hinesfield history. Yes, I mean yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 2: my list look looks very similar. I had at five,
- 20:33Speaker 2: is that five? At five? I had Big Ben throwing
- 20:37Speaker 2: for five hundred and twenty two yards six touchdowns over
- 20:41Speaker 2: the Colts in twenty fourteen. Remember that that was his
- 20:45Speaker 2: first game of the back to back six touchdown games.
- 20:48Speaker 5: I was at that game.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I think I was too. I think
- 20:52Speaker 2: it was up in the bleeds.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Yep, I was at that game. We always use a
- 20:57Speaker 5: shit on.
- 20:57Speaker 2: The Colts, dude, Yeah, still kind of do.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Yeah. True.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Pitt versus West Virginia thirty thirty four attendance record. That
- 21:07Speaker 2: was my number four spot, number three. The game I
- 21:11Speaker 2: almost didn't make it into because I had smoked a
- 21:13Speaker 2: joint and a half in the parking lot, not a
- 21:16Speaker 2: panic attack, and hyperventilated in the handicap stall in Hinsfield.
- 21:21Speaker 2: This Teelors Raiders Christmas Eve game twenty twenty two, Immaculate
- 21:26Speaker 2: Reception Anniversary retired Francos number at halftime thirteen to ten
- 21:31Speaker 2: Kenny Pickett to George Pickens's game winning touchdown.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Yep, yep.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Number two on my list. Surprise it didn't sniff the
- 21:40Speaker 2: uh the DV list because it's real high up on mine.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Forty two thirty nine pit over pen State, September tenth,
- 21:49Speaker 2: twenty sixteen.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Banger the Kase. I was with King of Beaver County
- 21:55Speaker 3: on that game, he had tears in his eyes. That
- 21:57Speaker 3: was a tear jerking game.
- 21:58Speaker 2: But listen to the players involved in this game. Just
- 22:01Speaker 2: I was looking at the box score earlier. Obviously Tracey
- 22:04Speaker 2: McSorley versus Nathan Peterman. The players involved James Connor two quadries,
- 22:09Speaker 2: Quadri Henderson Quadriu Oldison, Jordan Whitehead, Saquon, Mike Jeski, Chris Godwin,
- 22:16Speaker 2: Juwan Johnson. Pitt ran the ball fifty five times, only
- 22:20Speaker 2: completed eleven passes to three receivers.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that they.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Scored forty two points on eleven completions.
- 22:29Speaker 3: That game felt good, Pat that that was in my
- 22:32Speaker 3: top five as well. Absolutely phenomenal feeling at the end
- 22:35Speaker 3: of that game. Imagine taking shit. If you're not a
- 22:40Speaker 3: bit fan and you're at Penn State West Virginia, you
- 22:42Speaker 3: know whatever, you are listening to this, imagine taking shit
- 22:45Speaker 3: from Penn State fans for your entire life pretty much.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I mean, we didn't play our entire lives, and all
- 22:52Speaker 3: we got to hear about was how good Penn State was,
- 22:54Speaker 3: how good Penn State was, how good Penn State was.
- 22:56Speaker 3: They really weren't, I mean, they're the same team they've
- 22:59Speaker 3: always been and then for them to talk about how
- 23:02Speaker 3: bad they're gonna kill you, how bad they're gonna smoke you, YadA, YadA, YadA,
- 23:06Speaker 3: and we came.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Out and whooped that ass. That was phenomenal.
- 23:09Speaker 3: That was one of the best feelings and for a
- 23:12Speaker 3: year you had that over all the your Penn State buddies.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Not only that, but remember how Penn State's season ended
- 23:18Speaker 2: that year. They finally beat Ohio State and then Ohio
- 23:22Speaker 2: State gets into the fourteen playoff because pit or Penn
- 23:26Speaker 2: State lost to h pitt.
- 23:27Speaker 5: YEP kept him out of the four team college football Playoff.
- 23:32Speaker 2: They were so pissed off that year.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Dude, they'll still tell you.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I'll still bring it up. They don't have to tell
- 23:37Speaker 2: me bring it up.
- 23:41Speaker 3: That's not that's not the game they kept us out.
- 23:45Speaker 3: That's not the game that kept it fucking is. Dude,
- 23:48Speaker 3: if you have one loss, you know it's a Big
- 23:50Speaker 3: ten champion you're getting in. Buddy, it's just not happening.
- 23:57Speaker 3: They're scared to play us now because of that game.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And my number one, obviously is the AFC Championship game
- 24:04Speaker 2: in two thousand and nine. So yeah, although close and
- 24:08Speaker 2: maybe this is on your list, but honorable mention would
- 24:10Speaker 2: be the game last year, last game of the year,
- 24:13Speaker 2: the AFC North game. Okay, go ahead, go ahead, So.
- 24:17Speaker 5: I just went I did it differently than you.
- 24:19Speaker 3: They did their top four and I just put a
- 24:21Speaker 3: fifth one in there, so that the two that you
- 24:24Speaker 3: had was the Franco game, coldest game in Stewart history.
- 24:27Speaker 3: You almost didn't make it into pit forty two, Penn
- 24:30Speaker 3: State thirty nine. Uh, the AFC North Championship from last year.
- 24:35Speaker 3: And then the thank You Ben game, Ben's last game.
- 24:39Speaker 2: How could I forget to Thank you Ben game?
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Ben's last game, nausea. Harris runs it in from
- 24:45Speaker 3: forty yards out to seal it late, put a stamp
- 24:48Speaker 3: on it. They come out, they turned the ball over,
- 24:50Speaker 3: so Ben gets one last snap onto the field to
- 24:54Speaker 3: the whole lap around the stadium.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the time I've ever in his stadium and
- 25:00Speaker 2: I was bawling, dude. I remember I was watching on
- 25:03Speaker 2: top of the rotunda up in the bleeds, just fucking
- 25:07Speaker 2: crying like a baby.
- 25:08Speaker 5: You need to love. Yeah, I'm good for about once
- 25:13Speaker 5: a year.
- 25:15Speaker 2: It's not a crier, you know. That's like I cry
- 25:19Speaker 2: like once every five six years. Dude, I'm not crying.
- 25:23Speaker 5: The only time I've cried in the last twenty years
- 25:26Speaker 5: is bad.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Literally, that's probably the last time I cried, honestly.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Retire literally, And it's not like a sad cry.
- 25:35Speaker 5: It's like this ship's awesome type.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Of I've been fi a lot in my life, but
- 25:42Speaker 2: now that jerk tears quite like Big Ben's lash.
- 25:48Speaker 3: The following week when me and the King went to
- 25:51Speaker 3: uh Kansas City, that was one that was a sad one.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Moving on, there's a fake news story going around past.
- 26:00Speaker 3: I want to make sure everyone's aware of it.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Fucking fake news.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers flock camera story is.
- 26:06Speaker 11: Being Aaron Rodgers flock This This article alleges that Aaron
- 26:16Speaker 11: Rodgers is using an LLC as a shield to fund
- 26:20Speaker 11: a police department's purchase of flock cameras around the neighborhood.
- 26:25Speaker 3: That is slanderous.
- 26:26Speaker 2: That is libel.
- 26:29Speaker 3: And the evidence is the evidence pat is hidden behind
- 26:33Speaker 3: a paywall.
- 26:36Speaker 2: The evidence thereof Yes.
- 26:38Speaker 3: This website. I'll tell you the website just because you're
- 26:41Speaker 3: gonna laugh at it and be like, what the fuck
- 26:43Speaker 3: is this? And maybe I'm dumb and I don't know
- 26:45Speaker 3: it but it's uh FOI ball dot com. F o
- 26:49Speaker 3: I A ball dot com. Not sure if anyone knows it.
- 26:56Speaker 3: It's clearly I mean, it's a bunch of bullshit. The
- 26:58Speaker 3: guy who wrote the article, his name is David Kavucci.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Tweet him some nonsense on Twitter. Make sure he knows
- 27:04Speaker 3: that he's full of shit. Boy.
- 27:06Speaker 2: F o I A is the Freedom of Information Act?
- 27:11Speaker 3: Ball dot com Freedom of Information actball dot com. That's crazy.
- 27:19Speaker 3: So I guess he uses the freedom of information. That's
- 27:21Speaker 3: that's probably a fake website to make you think that
- 27:25Speaker 3: they're doing actual research over there.
- 27:26Speaker 7: Pat, Well, Uh, they can thank you for the free publicity.
- 27:32Speaker 7: One last thing I want to say about this, David Kovic.
- 27:40Speaker 7: Tweet him and make sure he knows he's an.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Idiot, just like just like Tom wins alleged slander was
- 27:45Speaker 3: going on last year. I'm not believing it as long
- 27:48Speaker 3: as he's a member of the Steelers.
- 27:53Speaker 2: What else, anything else you would add?
- 27:55Speaker 3: Today was the last day at training camp. Yeah up,
- 27:59Speaker 3: but like true, nothing really I wanted to add there.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Just wanted to make sure everywhere that they will be
- 28:05Speaker 3: in the South Side from here on out.
- 28:08Speaker 2: You got to get up the Trading Camp, sud mcgie,
- 28:10Speaker 2: it's you know, next year, we got to get you.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Up there in the last two years. Give me one
- 28:18Speaker 5: specific thing you loved about camp.
- 28:19Speaker 3: This year.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Once, just the it's not specific so, but just the
- 28:27Speaker 2: tempo and the way McCarthy went about his business. I mean,
- 28:31Speaker 2: going to several Tomlin training camps thinking that, you know,
- 28:36Speaker 2: that was the way to do it, taking pride in
- 28:38Speaker 2: how Tomlin ran things, and then seeing McCarthy just it
- 28:42Speaker 2: couldn't be more different, really, And we've talked about that enough.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I've beat that horse to death. But I thought, like,
- 28:51Speaker 2: I can't think of a negative change. Really, I think
- 28:53Speaker 2: all the changes were positive from this camp.
- 28:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree.
- 28:57Speaker 3: The one thing that I liked the most was seeing
- 29:00Speaker 3: how hands on all the coordinators and coaches. I've been sure,
- 29:03Speaker 3: especially with some of our rookies. Mike McCarthy had a
- 29:07Speaker 3: great quote in the press conference this week, and I
- 29:11Speaker 3: want to play it for a year. Pat.
- 29:12Speaker 12: I mean, it's really a philosophy that Patrick and I
- 29:16Speaker 12: have talked about since day one, and and and clearly
- 29:19Speaker 12: at the end of the spring coming into training camp because.
- 29:23Speaker 3: You know it's important.
- 29:27Speaker 12: For us as coaches, you know, especially the head coach
- 29:29Speaker 12: and the assistant head coach and the coordinators. You know,
- 29:32Speaker 12: if you bring us, you know, if you bring a
- 29:34Speaker 12: special you know, a skill set that you have that
- 29:37Speaker 12: you have a lot of experience, and you can't just
- 29:39Speaker 12: throw that to decide when.
- 29:42Speaker 3: You become a coordinator. You know, I went through this
- 29:44Speaker 3: with Brian Angelico.
- 29:45Speaker 12: I mean, you know he wants to, you know, spend
- 29:48Speaker 12: time in a quarterback room, and you know it's that
- 29:51Speaker 12: that's fine, but you know I didn't bring him here
- 29:53Speaker 12: to coach, you know, laern Korbeck. I brought him here
- 29:55Speaker 12: to be the offensive coordinator. But he has a special
- 29:58Speaker 12: skill set in stight as, so he needs to be
- 30:01Speaker 12: in the tight end room.
- 30:02Speaker 3: You know, it's important.
- 30:03Speaker 12: I mean he's done it a long time at a
- 30:05Speaker 12: high level in that room. So same thing with Patrick
- 30:07Speaker 12: Patrick's you know, he's coached multiple positions. You know, he
- 30:10Speaker 12: started on offense, but you know he's an exceptional defensive
- 30:14Speaker 12: front coach and you know that's where he cut his teeth.
- 30:17Speaker 12: So it's important for those linemen to know that and
- 30:20Speaker 12: him to be in that room. And that's these conversations
- 30:23Speaker 12: go back all the way to when you're building a staff,
- 30:25Speaker 12: because when you build a staff, you know as far
- 30:27Speaker 12: as the you know, the level of you know, experience
- 30:31Speaker 12: in your in your higher positions. And you got young,
- 30:34Speaker 12: young guys. You're excited about that. But there's some growth
- 30:37Speaker 12: in those guys. So it's important to you. Patrick's in
- 30:41Speaker 12: there by design but also because of what he brings
- 30:43Speaker 12: at the table. So and I'm glad, I'm glad the
- 30:45Speaker 12: players feel it.
- 30:47Speaker 3: How nice was it here to hear something that wasn't
- 30:52Speaker 3: along the lines of oh yeah, those guys squashed grapes.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Yeah, like I'm look at the t bone stick by
- 31:01Speaker 2: sticking to your head up a bull's ass. But I'd
- 31:04Speaker 2: rather take the butcher's word for it.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 31:11Speaker 5: I mean one, the coordinators love seeing them hands on.
- 31:16Speaker 3: It's not like that's something that has never been done
- 31:19Speaker 3: before or wasn't being done under Tomlin. But mainly, you know,
- 31:23Speaker 3: I love the way that they have been doing it,
- 31:24Speaker 3: showcasing it. But that quote from Mike McCarthy, I love
- 31:29Speaker 3: an actual explanation and not just being treated like I'm
- 31:33Speaker 3: a moral Yeah.
- 31:34Speaker 2: I think everybody collectively and the results will be the
- 31:38Speaker 2: ultimate indicator of you know, at the end of the day,
- 31:41Speaker 2: how this plays out. But I've never felt more confident
- 31:46Speaker 2: in an overall coaching staff under Mike Tomlin than I
- 31:50Speaker 2: do under Mike McCarthy in the sense that like these people.
- 31:53Speaker 2: These are people that I feel like they know what
- 31:56Speaker 2: they're doing, and they're allowed to coach and they're allowed
- 31:58Speaker 2: to do what they need to do.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Absolutely well, said Pat anything else, No, I think we're
- 32:07Speaker 3: ready to move it on. Let's pause for station identification.
- 32:11Speaker 3: We get back, we're gonna have some packers recap.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Say tuned.
- 32:19Speaker 6: Ricktrio is back.
- 32:24Speaker 13: And he's got one goal to suplex a recto dysfunction.
- 32:32Speaker 13: I've searched dessert for and wide to find you the
- 32:37Speaker 13: best gear for recti disquosh.
- 32:41Speaker 6: I've traversed the desolate planes of the Sarah Ketty. I've
- 32:45Speaker 6: climbed the highest mountains of the car com I've spoken
- 32:49Speaker 6: to ancient bumps, and I've busted the heart of penile voodoo.
- 32:54Speaker 6: I even parted my own soul to a merchant in
- 32:57Speaker 6: the Moroccan bazaar. I was three works floating in a
- 33:02Speaker 6: cybernetic sensory deformation chamber, marinating in my own facies and ejaculate,
- 33:09Speaker 6: and what I found is world first one hundred percent
- 33:13Speaker 6: of Sibo based complete and on a cure for a
- 33:17Speaker 6: reptile is Functionhip Rhino Ricks Extreme Rhyo pro.
- 33:26Speaker 14: If you have any problems with Rich the Rhino's cure,
- 33:30Speaker 14: give me a call on my personal line, and I
- 33:33Speaker 14: promise you my wife Sheila, will come down to your home,
- 33:37Speaker 14: will come down to your office, will sit in the
- 33:40Speaker 14: past of your seat in your car and jerk you
- 33:42Speaker 14: off into ejaculation. That's how confident Rick the Orhido is
- 33:48Speaker 14: that his pills will make you harder than fuck.
- 33:51Speaker 13: Note of these claims have been evaluated by doctors because
- 33:55Speaker 13: doctors are fucking putsies too. So if you're tired of
- 33:58Speaker 13: being a spieless dickless go cup god fuck please.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Get bugger good.
- 34:06Speaker 15: Hello, had a long bright thee doggy Nye for three
- 34:12Speaker 15: buns sublime, take get right, do cup hard.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Thanks for sticking with us tarps off listeners, and thanks
- 34:26Speaker 3: for Rick the Rhino for a brand new ad sponsoring
- 34:29Speaker 3: us this year. I look forward to hearing from him
- 34:32Speaker 3: more often. Pat Steelers win twenty eight to nine touchdowns,
- 34:37Speaker 3: scored by Lou Nichols on a one yard run, Drew
- 34:40Speaker 3: Aller on a three yard run Caden Swift for wet
- 34:43Speaker 3: Jet on a five yard pass from Drew Aller on
- 34:45Speaker 3: the on the rollout, and then Riley Nowakowski four yard
- 34:48Speaker 3: pass from Drew Aller uh just under two minutes to
- 34:51Speaker 3: play for the final score of twenty eight to nine.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Nothing but field goals from the Packers side of the ball. Pat,
- 34:57Speaker 3: give me your initial thoughts on this game.
- 34:59Speaker 2: We win from a huge increase in offensive efficiency and
- 35:05Speaker 2: just overall offensive vibe. And look when we made the
- 35:09Speaker 2: jump from football Terrace number one to Arthur Smith and
- 35:13Speaker 2: we thought, finally, here's a real fucking NFL offense. And
- 35:18Speaker 2: now we made the jump from Arthur Smith to Mike
- 35:21Speaker 2: McCarthy and in one preseason game with nothing really scripted,
- 35:25Speaker 2: you know, ninety eight percent of the playbook still tucked
- 35:28Speaker 2: under both of those chins of his. This is just
- 35:32Speaker 2: as big a jump as Canada was to Arthur Smith.
- 35:37Speaker 3: This is big, big enough jump as Neanderthal banging you know,
- 35:43Speaker 3: random bushes just to get his dick sucked by nature
- 35:48Speaker 3: or something like. I don't even know what I'm thinking here,
- 35:50Speaker 3: but it goes from man fucking a hole in the
- 35:54Speaker 3: ground to God damn Brad Pitt fucking Angelina Joe Lee.
- 36:00Speaker 3: It's like going from a smart car to a Bugatti.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Like it's going from give me something here, help me
- 36:09Speaker 3: out here. It's going from pooping liquid to pooping turts.
- 36:13Speaker 2: It's it's it's going from eating group cheese off the
- 36:16Speaker 2: prison radiating to a fine start meal at Ruth Chris.
- 36:20Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it felt. It felt really fucking good. It felt
- 36:26Speaker 3: really good. I think my favorite part about the game
- 36:30Speaker 3: was the aggressiveness. We did not settle for field goals.
- 36:34Speaker 3: We went for it when we were in the end zone.
- 36:36Speaker 3: We went for it on fourth down a few times.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I absolutely love how you could feel, just sitting there
- 36:43Speaker 3: watching the game that scoring wasn't gonna be difficult for them.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I was saying. McGing like in Heinsfield
- 36:52Speaker 2: was this is the first time in a long and
- 36:56Speaker 2: take everything we say with it was preseason grain of salt,
- 37:00Speaker 2: but the first time in a long time where offense
- 37:04Speaker 2: looked easy.
- 37:05Speaker 5: It looks really easy. Passing looks easy, no matter who
- 37:08Speaker 5: we had a quarterback. I would have you know.
- 37:11Speaker 3: On the flip side of things, Pat where there were
- 37:13Speaker 3: a couple of critiques that we have my main thing
- 37:17Speaker 3: was I wish we would have run the ball a
- 37:18Speaker 3: little bit better.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we Steeles haven't run the ball really
- 37:23Speaker 2: at all in training camp. And that's not an exaggeration.
- 37:26Speaker 2: I mean it's been like eighty five percent passing the
- 37:30Speaker 2: ball in training camp. So I'm not worried about it.
- 37:35Speaker 3: But my.
- 37:37Speaker 2: My specs are on mc gingy. You know, I'm gonna
- 37:39Speaker 2: be I'm gonna be looking for week two and three,
- 37:43Speaker 2: see some see some improvement in the red game.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Yeah, looking for that, looking to see the O line,
- 37:48Speaker 3: you know, improve a little bit. Obviously that they were
- 37:52Speaker 3: quite bad, I mean, borderline unplayable in that first team
- 37:55Speaker 3: O line.
- 37:57Speaker 2: And it's expected, right, I mean you have players that
- 38:00Speaker 2: should be more natural with transitioning to different sides of
- 38:04Speaker 2: the line. So it's not like these are players who
- 38:07Speaker 2: have never played you know, left tackle and right tackle
- 38:10Speaker 2: or switching guards around. But at the same time, it's
- 38:13Speaker 2: to be expected when you have so much change from
- 38:17Speaker 2: one season to another on an offensive line.
- 38:20Speaker 3: You say that, I know, I've kind of been the
- 38:22Speaker 3: gung ho guy where it's like it doesn't fucking matter,
- 38:25Speaker 3: like ball is ball, you know, play whatever you're asked
- 38:28Speaker 3: to play. You could definitely see some growing pains and
- 38:32Speaker 3: you know, we'll get into them. But first of me, reready, Pat.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I just freshened my drink. I just powed
- 38:40Speaker 2: up the rest of my bottle. I had about a
- 38:42Speaker 2: quarter bottle of that Captain left and it's on my
- 38:44Speaker 2: glass right now.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Another thing that I thought needs to improve Pat, and
- 38:48Speaker 3: everyone is kind of talking about this is the penalties.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Eleven penalties for one hundred and forty three yards. Yeah,
- 38:55Speaker 3: it looks very undisciplined. It looks like they had never
- 38:58Speaker 3: played football before. On some like from an emotional side
- 39:01Speaker 3: of things, Slaughter caught a terrible one in front of
- 39:05Speaker 3: the refs.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that was bad.
- 39:08Speaker 3: That one was really bad, just right in front of
- 39:10Speaker 3: the ref and and whoever the camera guy is down
- 39:13Speaker 3: at Heinsfield did a great job capturing Slaughter just you know,
- 39:18Speaker 3: shoved that guy and the ref standing immediately behind him
- 39:22Speaker 3: looking at him throwing the flag. It was a hell
- 39:24Speaker 3: of a camera shot.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Benny Scrow had a bad one too.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Benny Scrow had a bad one that was that was
- 39:31Speaker 3: ticky taki, though I don't know if that gets called.
- 39:33Speaker 3: In September, there was a.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Lot listen, there was a lot you could. I mean,
- 39:36Speaker 2: it's preseason for everybody in Tanu.
- 39:39Speaker 3: The hold on him on the touchdown, run the touchdown, Yeah,
- 39:42Speaker 3: that was ticky. Taki uh. The slaughter ones getting called
- 39:47Speaker 3: all day, the roughing the passer probably gets called all
- 39:52Speaker 3: day because he fell on him with his full body.
- 39:54Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 39:55Speaker 3: I thought it was a terrible call. Pat.
- 39:57Speaker 5: I thought it was a terrible and.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I also I don't think it was right with the
- 40:00Speaker 2: role either, Like I think it was a bad it's
- 40:02Speaker 2: a bad role, and I think that was a bad
- 40:04Speaker 2: way to apply the role as well.
- 40:06Speaker 5: Okay, I could see that one being called.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Though against you know, Pat Mahomes or pretty boy Killer Williams.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Now does he get that treatment?
- 40:15Speaker 5: Yeah, it's the treatment, dud. He paints his fingernails.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Exactly, fingernails, fingernails even have figurtooes.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Oh man, how about the you know what? The one thing,
- 40:28Speaker 3: you know, it was nice being back in the stadium.
- 40:31Speaker 3: We saw, you know, some of our seat neighbors, some others.
- 40:34Speaker 3: The one thing that I enjoyed the most part, obviously
- 40:37Speaker 3: moving the chains is gets my tack hard every week.
- 40:40Speaker 5: The couple of Eagles fans that showed up.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I don't know why you had to bring that up to.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Around a booze, to a round a booze, Pat, I
- 40:51Speaker 3: boot him, You boot him, Uncle Andy boot him. The
- 40:56Speaker 3: Italians with us boot him.
- 41:00Speaker 2: It was brutal, man. There are a few Eagles jerseys around,
- 41:02Speaker 2: and it was funny because there were like Vikings jerseys,
- 41:05Speaker 2: which I get, you know, playing the embarrass jerseys, playing
- 41:09Speaker 2: the Packers, right, I mean that's acceptable, but fucking Eagles.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Dude, everything's always about them.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that fucking loud to most polluted city in
- 41:23Speaker 2: the country. I was watching this video earlier about they
- 41:27Speaker 2: didn't show the city until the end, and I'm like,
- 41:29Speaker 2: every sentence they uttered, I'm like, yeah, it's Philly. Oh,
- 41:31Speaker 2: that's definitely Philly. Oh that's Philly.
- 41:34Speaker 3: And the people on the streets live under bridges and
- 41:37Speaker 3: shoot themselves up with needles.
- 41:38Speaker 2: That they don't even get me started about the Italians
- 41:41Speaker 2: over air in Philly.
- 41:43Speaker 5: Careful, careful.
- 41:44Speaker 2: I didn't even mean it like that. That was unrelated
- 41:47Speaker 2: to any potential familial ties, I.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Promise Mike McCarthy looks good.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Pat, how so physically, dude, he was all blacks a
- 42:02Speaker 2: black sleeves, like he does look like a football coach.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Shoot, he came out there looking slim, had to show
- 42:10Speaker 3: out for all his old hose back here in Greenfield
- 42:13Speaker 3: in his first game back.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Did you hear him on Pat McAfee the day after? No,
- 42:19Speaker 2: what he's well, they asked him. They asked him, you
- 42:22Speaker 2: know it's bad. He's like, have you was this different?
- 42:25Speaker 4: Right?
- 42:25Speaker 2: I mean You've been to a lot of games, a
- 42:27Speaker 2: lot of preseason games as a coach, but you know,
- 42:29Speaker 2: preseason game, first time coaching at heinz Field? Did it
- 42:32Speaker 2: feel different? And I feel like most coaches would have
- 42:35Speaker 2: been like, no, you know, it's just another game, right,
- 42:37Speaker 2: We prepared the same way this that, But he wears
- 42:40Speaker 2: his heart on his sleeve.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Man.
- 42:42Speaker 2: He's like, absolutely, it was different. You know, I'm driving
- 42:45Speaker 2: to and from on the roads I used to drive
- 42:47Speaker 2: on as a kid, and you know, I definitely respect
- 42:50Speaker 2: the building and what it means to be a Steelers coach.
- 42:53Speaker 2: So absolutely it was very emotional day for me.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it looked like he cried out about twenty pounds suit.
- 42:59Speaker 3: He looked slim.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Well, I mean teach the rown. Maybe you're I bet
- 43:03Speaker 2: the binocilars you probably had them upside down or backwards,
- 43:07Speaker 2: not that time.
- 43:10Speaker 3: It was nice out of the binoculars to be able
- 43:12Speaker 3: to see who was out there. In the preseason games,
- 43:14Speaker 3: I learned a lot of numbers, and we'll go over
- 43:16Speaker 3: some numbers with you later. The one thing I liked
- 43:19Speaker 3: about Mike, you know, game related. I loved how we
- 43:22Speaker 3: talked in the postgame. And I feel like maybe I've
- 43:25Speaker 3: been complimenting either press conferences or Mike McCarthy lingo or
- 43:31Speaker 3: just but the way he talked after the game. He
- 43:35Speaker 3: and it was a preseason game and the reporters were
- 43:37Speaker 3: acknowledging it was a preseason game, but he talked about
- 43:40Speaker 3: the importance of winning and being a winner, no matter
- 43:43Speaker 3: how unimportant it might seem. I loved that he talks
- 43:47Speaker 3: about winning individual matchups, winning quarters, winning the game. You know,
- 43:54Speaker 3: he just stressed the importance of winning. That's the guy
- 43:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna bet on next week in the preseason Hell yeah, absolutely.
- 44:04Speaker 5: Did you see anything else about Mike out.
- 44:06Speaker 2: There, big Mike? No, No, I mean we hit it
- 44:10Speaker 2: all studs and stiffs. Yeah, we're bringing back the Studs
- 44:16Speaker 2: and Stiff's section for this season.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Yeah, there will be stiffs. Again, we realize that they're
- 44:22Speaker 3: both important. You can't have a stud without a stiff,
- 44:25Speaker 3: and you can't have a good stiff without a stud.
- 44:27Speaker 2: We will be respectful of the stiffs moving forward. But
- 44:32Speaker 2: you know, everybody has bad games, so we got to
- 44:34Speaker 2: point that out. Why don't you go first? Who is
- 44:37Speaker 2: your your first stud?
- 44:40Speaker 3: First stud? Put him on the board, Drew Aller. I
- 44:43Speaker 3: think Drew Aler earns the first STUG designation this week.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I have his stats right in front of me, one
- 44:49Speaker 3: hundred and fifty three passing yards, ten of thirteen, two touchdowns,
- 44:53Speaker 3: one rushing touchdown as well, adding on that he looked
- 44:56Speaker 3: every bit as advertised. I do want to stress. I
- 45:00Speaker 3: do want to stress. Let's not get carried away. He
- 45:05Speaker 3: was a preseason game against a bunch of players who
- 45:09Speaker 3: likely won't make the roster.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Absolutely, and he looked great. And I say that, I
- 45:15Speaker 2: say that saying like he looked bad. I don't know
- 45:18Speaker 2: what you've been hearing or what you've been seeing, but
- 45:21Speaker 2: he is not look great at camp, neither as will Howard.
- 45:24Speaker 2: So this was a very pleasant surprise.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Yeah, give me your first thud, my first thud.
- 45:31Speaker 2: We'll follow that same vein right. If we're talking studs
- 45:35Speaker 2: for talking horse dicks, I'll ride that vein with Will
- 45:38Speaker 2: Howard the other quarterback. He looked good. That one touchdown
- 45:43Speaker 2: that who was it that you said scored the first
- 45:46Speaker 2: touchdown running back Nichols? Lou Nichols, Yeah, that one came
- 45:50Speaker 2: after that. I think it was Robert Tanyan right.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Yep over the middle, over the middle and.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Was a nuthair short. So I give him a touchdown.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Will Howard on the stat sheet, good overall game from him,
- 46:03Speaker 2: good processing. He had one kind of bad throw. We
- 46:07Speaker 2: both looked at each other like yikes. But apart from
- 46:10Speaker 2: Matt's it was a very clean game.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Absolutely, And I tried looking back for that throw, couldn't
- 46:15Speaker 3: find It's maybe we were imagining things, but he definitely
- 46:19Speaker 3: had one throw where it was like ugh, like that.
- 46:22Speaker 3: An NFL quarterback does not make that type of throw.
- 46:24Speaker 2: And that's what worries me about Will Howard and even
- 46:28Speaker 2: more so Drew Aller in particular, is just making those
- 46:33Speaker 2: throws that he shouldn't make, trying to do too much
- 46:36Speaker 2: right and turning the ball over. And that's something that
- 46:40Speaker 2: under Mike Tomlin, the Steelers were really good at avoiding
- 46:43Speaker 2: no matter who was that quarterback was limiting turnovers. But
- 46:46Speaker 2: they also put a cap on the ceiling obviously in
- 46:48Speaker 2: the offense as a whole. So that's something that drew
- 46:51Speaker 2: Our more so than Will Howard will have to get
- 46:54Speaker 2: better at. But both quarterbacks can certainly benefit from the
- 46:58Speaker 2: McCarthy school in in that and.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Both quarterbacks using and utilizing the middle of the field.
- 47:05Speaker 3: The middle of the field was open, you know, whether
- 47:07Speaker 3: it was from by design by winning your matchup, the
- 47:11Speaker 3: middle of the field was open and aler and.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Will Howard hit it all day well, absolutely, and and
- 47:16Speaker 2: I forget when he talked about it, but Mike McCarthy
- 47:19Speaker 2: essentially said that, you know, whenever you run to set
- 47:24Speaker 2: up the pass, what happens mcginge. You stacked the box
- 47:27Speaker 2: and move players into the middle of the field.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you end up with the defense like we've seen
- 47:31Speaker 3: for the last fucking five years. Dude, I've been saying
- 47:34Speaker 3: this for years. You Mike Tomlin was running to set
- 47:38Speaker 3: up the pass. You got a pass to.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Set up the run, now, yeah, so that opens up
- 47:44Speaker 2: that opens up the middle of the field.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's easier for the linemen to get to
- 47:48Speaker 3: the second level and may and execute. It's so that
- 47:53Speaker 3: was simple football one oh one, Pat any other stuffy,
- 47:58Speaker 3: Robert Tanyan, I had Robert.
- 48:00Speaker 5: Being a stud.
- 48:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we get his Let me get his receiving stats here,
- 48:04Speaker 3: four catches, sixty one yards.
- 48:06Speaker 5: And I would also like to give him that touchdown
- 48:08Speaker 5: as well, because he.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Was in and he's just been He's been looking great
- 48:13Speaker 2: in camp two. I mean he's been very active, very involved,
- 48:16Speaker 2: and you know, I think the Steelers found something in
- 48:18Speaker 2: a guy who had like fucking five catches the past
- 48:22Speaker 2: two years total or something like that.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean last year it was Mouth Washington and
- 48:28Speaker 3: then Connor Hayward and who was our fourth tight end?
- 48:33Speaker 3: Come on now, I think, oh my god, Johnny Smid's
- 48:39Speaker 3: that piece of shit Johnny Smith. I'm taking Robert Tanyan
- 48:42Speaker 3: and Riley Nowakowski over John new Smith and Connor Hayward
- 48:46Speaker 3: any day of the week.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Uh yeah, my stud. I was surprised you didn't mention him. Uh,
- 48:52Speaker 2: Jeremy Bernard getting active early. I liked how they targeted
- 48:56Speaker 2: him a couple of times in that first drive and
- 48:58Speaker 2: he looked like a an NFL player out there, especially
- 49:02Speaker 2: turning what a five six year gain into like a
- 49:04Speaker 2: twenty yard game where he just bullied over you know,
- 49:08Speaker 2: three defenders.
- 49:09Speaker 3: He fought for the extra yard, which I thought was
- 49:11Speaker 3: the most important thing out there. I had an issue
- 49:14Speaker 3: with a play that Mouth caught where he didn't get
- 49:17Speaker 3: a first down where he could have, you know, fought
- 49:19Speaker 3: for an extra yard. Obviously Swift for wet Jet. Getting
- 49:23Speaker 3: tackled within the five on that long play getting caught
- 49:26Speaker 3: at the end, that really can't happen. It was nice
- 49:29Speaker 3: to see Jeremy fight for the extra yards there.
- 49:32Speaker 2: He's always going to do that too. I mean, that's
- 49:34Speaker 2: that's the type of player he is. That's that's it is. DNA.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Did you hear what he said about the Swift for
- 49:38Speaker 5: wet Jet play.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Jeremy said no.
- 49:42Speaker 3: He said, man, I told I told Uegen in the
- 49:45Speaker 3: wide receiver room, you have to pay a fine if
- 49:47Speaker 3: you get tackled within the five. So someone someone's charging
- 49:54Speaker 3: Swift for wet Jet on that play. The next one
- 49:59Speaker 3: I got on my list, and I think has been
- 50:01Speaker 3: the overall winner of camp at Sante Samuel Yep. Absolute
- 50:06Speaker 3: lock down the outside. Two or three nice plays on
- 50:09Speaker 3: the balls that he was targeted on came out pretty
- 50:11Speaker 3: quickly in the game. But man, did he look every
- 50:15Speaker 3: bit of advertised from what they've been saying about Camp.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Absolutely, he's one of my where Pat was right when
- 50:22Speaker 2: we first signed him. I mean, looking back, I love
- 50:24Speaker 2: the siding everyone was talking about, Oh, it's a depth,
- 50:27Speaker 2: a depth piece. You know, it's just that his only
- 50:29Speaker 2: problem is health, right, and you know, he came back
- 50:33Speaker 2: from injury and he's he's been basically the same player
- 50:36Speaker 2: he was when he went away, which was a damn
- 50:38Speaker 2: good corner. So the depth, I mean, finally, I can't
- 50:42Speaker 2: even remember the lie. I don't think there's ever been
- 50:44Speaker 2: a time in our life as a Steeler fan mcginge
- 50:47Speaker 2: where we had this much depth at cornerback.
- 50:50Speaker 3: This is easily the deepest cornerback room we've ever had.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I don't think it's ever been close.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Either, although we did feel like you know, this time
- 50:58Speaker 2: last year, yet when we brought in even Jackson, right
- 51:04Speaker 2: Deontay Jackson, that we had some good corners so hopefully
- 51:09Speaker 2: things stayed the game.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Yea, But even he was kind of a bonehead, like
- 51:13Speaker 3: we knew he was kind of a bowhead. Like I
- 51:16Speaker 3: feel confident in four or five corners, depending on how
- 51:21Speaker 3: Jalen Ramsey is. Yeah, being that swing one. I'm confident
- 51:25Speaker 3: in Sante Samuel, I'm confident in JPJ, confident in Dean.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I'm confident in Dalen Everett from what we saw out
- 51:31Speaker 3: of him this week. And I know it's still early
- 51:34Speaker 3: to say that, and we don't know exactly who he
- 51:36Speaker 3: is yet, but all the talk out of camp has
- 51:38Speaker 3: been that he's been good too. And then you throw
- 51:40Speaker 3: Jalen Ramsey in as a fifth corner that is a
- 51:43Speaker 3: very talented room. Yeah.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Absolutely, and Slaughter had a good game.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Slaughter played really well.
- 51:53Speaker 2: I didn't have him on my stud list, but you know,
- 51:57Speaker 2: maybe I should have. M Yeah to me off, did
- 52:04Speaker 2: you mention Jamel? Did you mention Jamel Dean as well?
- 52:07Speaker 3: No? I did not. I mentioned I have Riley Nowakowski
- 52:11Speaker 3: in the stables this week.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I'm just talking about depth at cornerback with Jamel Dean.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he was before he was the four Samuel, JPJ
- 52:21Speaker 3: and Dylan Everett with j Riley Nowakowski not only catching
- 52:27Speaker 3: a touchdown, but if you want to go back and
- 52:30Speaker 3: look at the Lou Nichols touchdown run on that Will
- 52:32Speaker 3: Howard drive phenomenal block they they lined up in the
- 52:35Speaker 3: I formation, which was man. That was nice to see.
- 52:39Speaker 4: Pat.
- 52:39Speaker 3: I hope we run that formation a lot more this year.
- 52:42Speaker 3: I'd love to see the classic full back come back
- 52:45Speaker 3: and Nowakowski perfect player for that.
- 52:49Speaker 2: You might have had this on a different part of
- 52:51Speaker 2: your list, but Swift or wet Jet it was a
- 52:54Speaker 2: stunt on my list, so.
- 52:57Speaker 3: I left him off.
- 52:58Speaker 2: But he struggled. He struggled in the return game, which
- 53:02Speaker 2: ironically is you know why we drafted him. But he
- 53:07Speaker 2: actually made himself available as a receiver, which it was
- 53:10Speaker 2: good to see because he hasn't been involved in camp
- 53:12Speaker 2: really at all in that aspect.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I had I did have another rookie on the
- 53:19Speaker 3: list though, Actually I so the last three I have
- 53:21Speaker 3: for rookies. It was no a Kalskian. Then two more.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Okay, I've got two more players as well, so go.
- 53:26Speaker 5: Okay, let me give you both of mine.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Gabe Rubio in the stables, phenomenal tape made some great
- 53:34Speaker 3: tackle stuff that run did really well. And then Spears
- 53:37Speaker 3: Jennings the safety boy. Did I have fun watching him play?
- 53:41Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 53:42Speaker 3: He feels like a downhill, like a dick run into
- 53:45Speaker 3: a whorehouse. Dude, that guy was a rolling boulder down
- 53:48Speaker 3: a mountain. That was that was fun. He brought the
- 53:52Speaker 3: fucking boom this week.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Yeah, feels like a Steeler.
- 53:57Speaker 3: We might have some some hitters this year, dude. With
- 54:00Speaker 3: the Landon Roberts coming back and and being signed and
- 54:03Speaker 3: being that thumper in the middle, we might have some
- 54:06Speaker 3: hitters on this team. We might have an attitude on
- 54:08Speaker 3: this team.
- 54:08Speaker 2: And if Deshaun Elliott comes back, oh it doesn't missus
- 54:12Speaker 2: step Jalen Ramsey.
- 54:14Speaker 3: If he's able to come back and be healthy and
- 54:16Speaker 3: be you know, somewhat of the player he was, I
- 54:20Speaker 3: think questions are starting to swirl about him.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Here's two players that, uh probably just a preseason shine.
- 54:27Speaker 2: We'll see if they can repeat any effort, more likely
- 54:30Speaker 2: practice squad. But Kyler Baw Baw Bog Kyler Bug he
- 54:35Speaker 2: had those two sacks on those like last two plays
- 54:37Speaker 2: in the game, so he made the most of his opportunity.
- 54:40Speaker 2: I couldn't leave him off the list. And uh, gem
- 54:44Speaker 2: Jaman Davis, Jamine Davis jam And Davis jam And Davis. Yeah,
- 54:49Speaker 2: I mean he just he I don't have the snap
- 54:52Speaker 2: numbers here, but I can imagine he probably outstapped everybody
- 54:55Speaker 2: with the how thin the lineback outside linebackers wearing the
- 55:00Speaker 2: preseason right resting so many stars, and he just he
- 55:03Speaker 2: looked like an NFL player out there.
- 55:05Speaker 3: So and he was wearing big five zero out there.
- 55:09Speaker 3: I thought it was Landing Roberts. Who is your witch numbers?
- 55:15Speaker 2: What's e rob now?
- 55:16Speaker 3: Fifty?
- 55:17Speaker 13: Oh?
- 55:18Speaker 2: They okay, they.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Switched numbers after the game. Okay, I think John Man
- 55:22Speaker 3: is fifty nine or something.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Now, well, who is your horsetick? You have a horse stick,
- 55:28Speaker 2: big swing and horse cock?
- 55:30Speaker 3: I uh, drum roll, please.
- 55:34Speaker 14: Hate my half?
- 55:36Speaker 2: You mean like a horsey boner.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Drew Rowler, That's what I had.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Why you said he was a stud, you motherfucker? He
- 55:46Speaker 2: was my horse stick too?
- 55:48Speaker 3: Okay? Why you mad?
- 55:50Speaker 2: Because he was the first study you listed.
- 55:52Speaker 3: First stud designation and a horse stick that no one's
- 55:54Speaker 3: ever done that before, Pat, I think that's the type
- 55:58Speaker 3: of game he had.
- 55:59Speaker 2: It was crazy for everybody. We got to clean it
- 56:01Speaker 2: up too. You thar me off because I'm thinking literally
- 56:06Speaker 2: this whole time you're talking. I'm like, he mentioned Will Howard,
- 56:09Speaker 2: he mentioned, you know, Jeremy and Sante's who's his horsetck is? There,
- 56:13Speaker 2: did I miss somebody? It's hard to miss a big
- 56:17Speaker 2: swing and horsetick right in your face.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Like, I don't have your goddamn studs and stiffs in
- 56:21Speaker 3: front of me either, we normally have them.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Well, it doesn't matter when you look at your horse
- 56:25Speaker 2: dick and you call him a stud.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Yeah, Drew Aller, congrats and your first horse dick designation
- 56:35Speaker 3: with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 56:37Speaker 2: And that just shows for all the fans out there
- 56:39Speaker 2: who know that we're big pitt fans. We're all Steeler
- 56:43Speaker 2: fans on Sundays.
- 56:45Speaker 4: I do have a.
- 56:46Speaker 3: Seafood tower bet outstanding with below where I bet him
- 56:53Speaker 3: a seafood tower that Kenny Pickett would win a Super
- 56:56Speaker 3: Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That bet lost, And now
- 57:01Speaker 3: he asked me if I want to double or nothing
- 57:04Speaker 3: with Drew Holler, and I took him up on that.
- 57:07Speaker 2: There's still time.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Worst case scenario, we win a Super Bowl and I
- 57:11Speaker 3: get a seafood tower.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Yeah, what if? What if Kenny backs Drew Aller up
- 57:18Speaker 2: and they went a Super Bowl?
- 57:19Speaker 3: We we have a litany of stipulations to the bat
- 57:22Speaker 3: where the Super Bowl winning quarterback has to play in
- 57:26Speaker 3: the Super Bowl or the majority of the playoffs. Okay, good,
- 57:30Speaker 3: pretty reasonable. Yeah, superfood towers on the line, Yeah good.
- 57:34Speaker 3: Eighty ninety bucks huh yeah, absolutely, probably a little bit
- 57:38Speaker 3: more than that nowadays of inflation.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Would fucking post By in America?
- 57:42Speaker 5: Good seafood tower run?
- 57:44Speaker 3: You're like buck fifty bucks sixty?
- 57:48Speaker 2: Well, if you're like some of the pitt Panthers, you
- 57:51Speaker 2: can just go down under the Clementa Bridge and catch
- 57:54Speaker 2: your own little seafood tower.
- 57:57Speaker 5: That was crazy. Nardoosy had to say that.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto. That's where they
- 58:06Speaker 3: got the seafood tower.
- 58:07Speaker 2: So how about some stiffs who needs some rhino ricks here?
- 58:10Speaker 3: Well, I think there's one that probably comes to everyone's
- 58:15Speaker 3: mind here, and a lot of people were probably wondering
- 58:17Speaker 3: where he was, if he played at all, if he's
- 58:21Speaker 3: gonna make the roster.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Running back Caleb Johnson.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that one hurt. That hurt me personally quite a bit.
- 58:27Speaker 2: That's your guy, that's my guy. And I still believe
- 58:30Speaker 2: in his college tape. I mean, call me crazy, but
- 58:34Speaker 2: that was a big wake up call. I think he
- 58:35Speaker 2: got what five snaps in total, and I didn't know
- 58:39Speaker 2: three yards? Yeah, I didn't see him out there at all.
- 58:43Speaker 2: I think I blink too much.
- 58:44Speaker 3: Legitimately I did, Like after the game, I did not
- 58:47Speaker 3: know he played until I hear Batch on the radio
- 58:50Speaker 3: talking about how he did get in because everyone was
- 58:54Speaker 3: I don't even know if he played, did he play?
- 58:56Speaker 5: Did he play? And Batch had to remind people he
- 58:58Speaker 5: got in he had two care three yards.
- 59:01Speaker 2: What do you make of this? I've heard some folks
- 59:03Speaker 2: talk about how perhaps he got in in the same
- 59:09Speaker 2: sense that you know, Broderick played most of the game
- 59:13Speaker 2: and most of the second half, where they didn't want
- 59:16Speaker 2: to send Aler out there with a complete, you know,
- 59:21Speaker 2: set of scrub players, right like they wanted to give
- 59:24Speaker 2: him some sort of talent to be around as opposed
- 59:27Speaker 2: to Caleb just truly kind of being in the doghouse
- 59:30Speaker 2: or truly being the odd man out.
- 59:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought, I did, I know what you're talking
- 59:35Speaker 3: about there, and I thought it might have been, you know,
- 59:39Speaker 3: shielding Broderick a little bit there. I think that might
- 59:41Speaker 3: have been coach to speak for. This is probably the
- 59:44Speaker 3: most action Broderick's going to see all year, boring injury.
- 59:47Speaker 2: I also, I'm telling you, like the camp I was
- 59:51Speaker 2: at and all the notes I've read from people at camp,
- 59:54Speaker 2: like Caleb Johnson has been the third running back in
- 59:58Speaker 2: terms of snaps a camp like, it's not like he's
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: been off to the side and they don't know he
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: exists or whatever. So we'll talk about him during our
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Jets preview. He's got to have a big game. I
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: would have the same time.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: The amount of times that I've heard Mike McCarthy's stress
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: he's not going to keep a player on the field
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: who only plays one position.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Well, sure, but I mean Caleb Johnson he has some
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: special teams value, but compared to like Travis Homer, it's
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: you might as well not even consider it close.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Eddie vs.
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Has two seafood towers.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: One is the Big Eddie for one hundred and thirty
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: five and the other is the Shellfish Tower for eighty dollars.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, so we were both We're both right, I'd say, yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: you gotta go with the you gotta go with the
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: big boy.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: Yeah we did not, we did not define the seafood tower.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, you gotta go, you gotta go
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: with the big boy.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean it would be in celebration because
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: that means we would.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: Have won a super Bowl.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Another stiff that I had that you had in
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: your stud list was t Nico Slaughter.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Yeah, why did you think he was a stiff?
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: I think that's a bonehead penalty. You're a borderline roster player.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: You can't make penalties like that too. He got cooked
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: once or twice. Other than that, he played fine, but
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: got to clean up the mistakes your roster, your borderline
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: roster player like that.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: I hated that.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Yeah too, I hated the penalty. And I didn't have
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: him on my stud list for that reason. But he
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: played a lot of snaps, and I thought you said
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: he was a stud. No, I said, maybe I should
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: have put him on the stud list. I didn't put
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: him on the Oh that's why I was doing and
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: on or No. No, I said, Slaughter had a decent game,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: and maybe I should have put him on the stud list,
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: But I didn't. Interesting Okay, but I mean he played
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: at he played a lot of snaps and I didn't
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: know much about him going in. So number nineteen, number nineteen, yeah,
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: because I said it's the old juju.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: Uh, not Calvin Austin out there.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: But anyway, this one's obvious, right. My next couple might
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: not be as obvious. But Dylan Cook just had a
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: bad game.
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: Pat, I had the whole first team O line.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: I had Dylan Cook in and enjoy telling you.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: I had the whole first team O line bad across
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: the board as a unit. Bad.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: I didn't think Fraser played.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: When you when you're when those are the results, Yeah
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: he played bad. Sure, I mean he when the results
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: speak for themselves, none of them looked good when those
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: are the results.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Speaking of which, Uh, Danny Crossman on my stiff list,
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: I mean too many penalties.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: That's a that's a great stiff there. For those who
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: don't know, Danny Crossman is our new Special Teams coach.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Special Teams needed to clean it up, dude. They were sloppy.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: It was like three out of the four punts or
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: whatever we had penalty. It was like seventy five percent
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: of the plays on Special teams had penalties. It was
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: absolutely unacceptable.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: They saw fumble on the one penalty and he fell on.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: He's probably the least qualified higher on this on the staff,
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: I would argue, or at least the higher that has
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: the least prestige and the most to prove and he's replaced.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: He is the biggest used to fill as well with
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: beloved Pittsburgh iconon big Bubba Hubba Bubba Danny Smith.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and I wasn't a fan of the way, you know,
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Stewart fans jumped on Danny Smith at times last year.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: I think the noticeable falloff in this team, if there
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: is any, could be on the special teams unit. Having
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: said that, new unit, new returners, you know, new moving pieces,
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: a lot of people fighting for their jobs on that
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: Area of the ball.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: I'd like to see that improve next game.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: You'd expect it to be better returning the ball, both
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: on kicks and punk I mean that that's kind of
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: the the Danny Crossman h field of expertise.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: That's also why you go out and you draft the
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: best kick return return football in the fourth round. Yeah. Correct.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: So absolutely another stiff I had who I don't even
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: know what he did, if anything, in the game, but
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: I think just the usage of folks around him was
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: very telling. Was Malik Harrison. I mean he's done.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not going to make the roster. I don't
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: especially with them bringing back e Rob that just signed, sealed, delivered,
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: his fate.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: If we do a reverse horse stick, if we do
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: a horse pussy of the game, mcking the worst, fucking
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: absolute throw him out, throw the baby out.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: A horse stick, dude, a horse pussy, dude. I have
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: the offensive line, first team offensive line.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: You're agree with it?
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: Think outside the box, outside the outside the box, outside
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: the box outside.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: What happened to that game? That pissed me off more
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: than anything else. The halftime show, the fucking French fries
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: they put on the sandwiches, they put fucking food.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Club value on fucking any dollar, General.
- 1:05:29Speaker 13: Busht, fucking frozen micawave, fucking bread and French fries on
- 1:05:34Speaker 13: my fucking Primanny sandwich. That was.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: That was fucked up, Pat. Should I tweet them right now?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Yeah, tweet them all right? That was fucking horseshit, dude,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: I get my in the longest line ever, longest Primanne's line,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I missed like most of the second quarter. I had
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: to watch it on the little TV in the in
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: the great Hall because they it just took them. So
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: I I get it. It's preseason. I say this every year.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: It's preseason for everybody. They'll get their ship fixed come
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: regular season. The line usually moves very fast come regular season, right,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: and then I get my fucking sandwich and they got
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: the fucking lunchable fries on there. They got the high
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: school cafeteria fries on there. Mcgine, No, it's a joke.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: I'm crafting up this tweet right now.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: I took I had half of Amber's because she didn't
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: want the other half, and no wonder she didn't. Okay,
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: I had longest at Primanny Bros. Line of all time
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: at the preseason Steeers game last week. Wait the whole time,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: all just to get all just for the sandwich to
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: have all caps high school cafeteria French fries on it.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: You're the picks. I took picks. You want to send
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: a pick with that?
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: Set me a pick?
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: God, I'm pissed off just thinking about it.
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: And then I'm saying this is just unacceptable. But I
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: know it's preseason for everyone.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: And I told you in the stadium too. I wonder
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: if this is a sent them both. I wonder if
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: this is like a publicity stunt, you know, like the
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: like the ketchup at Kennywood when they switched from Hindes
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: and everybody made a big fucking roar about it, and
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: it got all kinds of free publicity. Maybe we're playing
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: into their hand.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Mcgin absolutely not. I don't think they served that slop
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: as a marketing stunt, and I think Kennywood was trying
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: to get one bias.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but they fucking they turned it into something over there,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Kenny Wood, fucking motherfuckers. Anyway, send the tweet.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: Here's the tweet longest Permanni Bros. At Permane Bros. Line
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: of all time at the preseason Stewards game last week.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Wait the whole time, all just for the sandwich to
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: have high school cafeteria French fries on it. This is
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: just unacceptable. But I know it's preseason for everyone.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'll go We'll go back. We'll get Primanes
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: on Friday. I don't think it'll be any I think
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: it'll be high school cafeteria fries again. But come game time,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: come week one, if I'm munching down a Primanny sandwich
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: with them bullshit fucking lunchables fries, I'm gonna be fucking
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: pissed off.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I skipped the food altogether, had a straight liquid diet.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: It was nice, lot, dude, I fucking about a pound
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: of pork chops and sour crowd and potatoes and broccoli.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Before I went down there, I had a bunch of beers.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: I had a sandwich and my ship I was shipping, Dude,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: I was shipping the next day.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: It's almost It's almost bulking season for me, dude. I
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: mean football comes around. I mean on Saturday, fifteen beers.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: On Sunday at least four or five beers on Monday
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: and Thursdays.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: If you gonna go to the gym, can you have
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: a balk season?
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: It's yes, absolutely. Do you think the gym is the
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: only way you bulk? Well, I'm knocking over here, Pat.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: There's an end goal to a bulk.
- 1:09:10Speaker 15: You know.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: I don't know, bunk. My bunk doesn't have a goal.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you're really incredible.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Bulk February. I slim down a little bit from end
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: of middle of February until like middle of August, and
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: I'm back into bulking season. I do have a doctor's
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: appointment on Thursday. My doctor's office called me on Tuesday
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: to confirm my appointment.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I get your get some blood work done. You're
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: getting work.
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Amber reminded me that I still have them one hundred
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: bucks from last year, So of course I'm gonna have
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: to have to pony up a couple hundred bucks for
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: this goddamn blood work, just for them to tell me
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: that I'm perfectly healthy, just.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: For I'm gonna tell you to fucking it drinking beer and.
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: I'm finding a new doctor.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Dumbass, I know I'm backing.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Yeah, what school did you go to? Buddy?
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: University of Phoenix Online?
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: Look at me, you think I'm fucking healthy.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: With the fucking liberal university. Everybody's fucking healthy.
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: Anything else in the game.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Play of the game play the game, Yes, I had
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: you for jet swift for wet jet long ball.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: That's why I asked you to go first, because I
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: had that. But I also had an honorable mention that
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: it couldn't be considered play of the game because it
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: ended up being an incomplete pass. But that Mason Rudolph
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Vintage big Ben throw at at Jeremy Bernard in the
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: back of the broke like two three tackles, moved up
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: in the pocket, put it on a fucking dot and
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Jeremy's still adjusting to the NFL rules, not the college rules,
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: with both feet down. But that was just a hell
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: of a play. That was probably the best play I've
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: ever seen Mason make.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: I thought it was a touchdown too, I didn't, unfortunately
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: saw it.
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: You called her right away.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, let's pause for another station identification. When we
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: get back, we're gonna have the Jets preview and the voicemails.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Look at Jetty, stay tuned.
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: Thanks for sticking with us. Tarps Off listeners.
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: Steelers Jets Friday night, August twenty first, at seven o'clock
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: pat eight o'clock.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Fucking ask me, I don't know.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Seven o'clock Steelers minus three and a half over under
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: set at thirty eight and a half. A little bit
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: about the Jets. The Jets now have Gino Smith at quarterback,
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: backed up by Cade Club Nick and then Bailey Zappi
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: and Brady Cook, who we've seen at times in the
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: past stacked at wide receiver, Garrett Wilson, a Donnai Mitchell,
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: and then newly drafted Omar Cooper junior. They have some
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: safety battles going on in the secondary. They have three
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: safeties listed as the number one or the number two starter.
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: On their def chart.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: They have two cornerbacks listed at the second corner, so
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: they do have some position battles, mainly in the secondary
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: going on there. Mika Fitzpatrick returning Steeler, coming back to Pittsburgh.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: He was traded from the Dolphins to the Jets for
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: a seventh round pick. Signed a three year, forty million
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: dollars deal with the Jets this offseason. That's who's coming
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: to town. Injury report DK Michael Pittman don't think they
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: will go what do you think? Pat?
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: This is all speculation from us except for Jalen Ramsey,
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: Dante Kat and JPJ still on the pup list. They
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: are definitely not going, correct. Deshaun elliott I would say
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: he's probably not right, Pat.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Probably not, No, And just so you know, we're saying
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: probably not because preseason doesn't have traditional injury reports, so
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: we'll get better during the season.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely absolutely, Max the anchor a hand at chore,
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: he is a no go, right, that's yes, correct? Okay,
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: so he's confirmed. No good I everyone's wondering, I think
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: right now at this point, Pat, is Mason gonna play?
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Is Rogers gonna play? I think a lot of the fans,
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: the idiots online, the stooges, and the media, Pittsburgh Radio
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: are talking about, you know, given a half to Will Howard,
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: given a half to Drew Holler.
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: How realistic do you think that is?
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: I mean, that's what I would prefer to happen, to
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: be honest with you. Lump me in with the stooges
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: if you want, but I just don't see that happening.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: I think Mason needs at least a driver to. I'd
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: like to see Rogers get a driver to. But I
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: think with Rogers, if DK and Pittman aren't playing, there's
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: no real need to play Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Sure, and you'd like to play Aaron Rodgers at home
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: in the preseason. I mean it's not a huge deal.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: It's a very small preference. But like you said, if
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: you're playing Aaron Rodgers, you're gonna want the full offense
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: on the field. So it could happen next week in
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: Week three.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, And I don't think after watching how the offensive
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: line played in Week one, you're really keen to throw
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers back there in the preseason.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: Good point. I think that's pretty much it for the injuries, right,
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: injury wise, Sure, the more n Rico Daddle might not play.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: I wonder if Alan and Roberts and Deshaun Elliott will
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: be out there.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: Yep, aland and Roberts is you know man, I would
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: love to.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: See he should be Yeah, he should be out there.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: Apparently he's had some great practices. Great first practice this week.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: So a lot of a lot of little hits. Practice
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: was chippy. There was a big fight the other day.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: I guess E Rob laid out Eltse, one of the
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: lower on the def chart receivers. I've did you hear?
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Hear who it was? I heard? I heard two big
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: hits from E Rob.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: But one was in the flat and I think the
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: tweets specifically, and I wish I had the tweet in
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: front of me, but the tweet specifically was like a
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: lot of people on the sideline saying, come.
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: On, Landon, come on, e Rob, come on, like are
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: we for real? And he's like, I fucking hit around here?
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: Obviously the second one starting a fight the other day
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: in practice as well.
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: I'm so excited to have him back.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: Pat Yeah. Absolutely. In terms of the Jets, I mean
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: just kind of what to expect from the Jets. This
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: is a team where it's like the worst the team
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: is the better. Preseason game you're gonna see almost because
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: they have a lot of people who are fighting for
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: you know, first team or second team, backup jobs, starting jobs,
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: and they have some talent in terms of like bottom
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: of the roster that should be out there.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: So you had mentioned they got some professionals.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Professionals, Yeah, you had mentioned Kate Clubnick will be good
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: to see out there, Brady Cook, Bailey Zappi who during
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: the regular season you want to pay any mind to. Yeah,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: I was gonna mention him. Uh, very excited to watch
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: Kenyan Sadik. He was somebody that I didn't want the
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: Steelers to take him just at the you know, tight
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: end position and going and you know, so high up
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: we'd have to take him in the first round. But yeah, absolutely,
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: he's a stud out of Oregon.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: Cornerback Dioslo Ponds also Indiana, also drafted this.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Year for sure and unrelated to preseason, but pretty solid,
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: little banked up. He had a little body I think
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: it was what a hamstring or something, groins, a lower body.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: He's not he shouldn't miss any time, but he's also
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: not going to play in the preseason. I can't imagine.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: So, yeah, what are you looking for specifically, I have
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: three big things I'm looking for over here, Pat.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I have three big things as well, So I'll
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: start with my my guy. I just I want to
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: see Caleb Johnson get some work, whether you plan on
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: having him on the roster or not. If you're gonna
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: trade him, you're gonna want to put him on display, right,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: I mean when't that makes sense? And at the very least,
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I think it would be pretty irresponsible to not see
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: what you have in a guy. You know, maybe he
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: shows you something. So I just don't see any reason
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: to not give Caleb Johnson. Uh you know, seven, eight, nine,
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: ten carries.
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: Yeah, interim producer, do be just message us said, kenyik
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: is not playing until week one.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Okay, that's good. INFI thank you. Maybe we'll keep up. Yeah,
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: if you keep up the good work, maybe we'll throw
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: a couple of shekels at you.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: My first thing I'm keeping my eyes on, Pat, is
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: the offensive line play absolutely needs to be better, specifically
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: the first team offense specifically, sorry this mean specifically Dylan
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Cook on the outside. I'd like that just needs to
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: be better. It's unacceptable how they played last week.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, And that was my number two point was
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: the whole offensive line. My number three point is, you know,
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: you go into the first game just getting the fundamentals down,
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: and that was something McCarthy talked about. Fundamentals. Fundamentals. You
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: go into the second game looking to improve on what
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: you did in the first game, and the biggest area
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: of improvement for me was the penalties, right, I mean,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: just making less mistakes, cleaning things up. If you can
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: clean things up this game, then you go into the
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: third preseason game without any worries. But if you have
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: another game where you have over one hundred and they
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: had like, what like one hundred and forty yards and
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: penalties this past game, and you take that into the
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: last preseason game, week three, then now it's time to
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: sound the alarm. So I'm gonna be looking for them
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: to clean that up.
- 1:19:04Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: And on the flip side of things, my number two
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: over here is special teams. Special teams needs cleaned up. Penalties, assignments.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: We had a fumble last week on special teams. That
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: just absolutely needs to be better. If you're if you're
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: not successful in the offensive line and special teams, you're
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: not gonna win the Super Bowl.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Bottom line, What's your third.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: I am excited to watch another week of Drew Aller
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: and Will Howard. I'm excited to watch the two of
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: them duke it out on the same team. I think
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: we have a very special thing here in Pittsburgh with
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: those two in this battle that they're having for the roster.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: I think we all need to take a step back,
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: recognize that it's pretty cool, and wish them both success.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Well said, thanks, Pat, Why don't you give us your
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: final one? Where did I take it from you?
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: I had Caleb Johnson offensive line and mistakes and penalties.
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: Did you do keys to victory this week?
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: I didn't do keys to victory, but I did keys right.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: So you know, obviously you want to win. Winning is important,
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: but I think coming out of a preseason game with
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: a couple of things is, you know, more important than winning.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: I had mentioned eliminating question marks as my number one thing,
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: so we had talked about Caleb Johnson putting the ball
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: in his hands eliminate that question mark. Another point I
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: had was less Rudolph, more Alur and Howard. I don't
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: have a problem at all with with giving Rudolph, you know,
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: a drive, but we didn't see Howard until what the
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: second drive of the second quarter, right.
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: Yeah, like five or six minutes left, I think so.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: I mean, we know what we have in Rudolph and
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: the coaching staff. Maybe not as much as maybe even
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: then or you know, some of the folks that have
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: been following the Steelers for as long as we have,
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: but there's plenty of tape on Rudolph. There's no excuse
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: to not know what you have in Mason Rudolph. But
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: this is a point where Howard didn't get to play
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: at all last year. Aler's new to this and he
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: hasn't played football in a long time either, right with
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: his injuries. So I really want to put the ball
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: into the hands of Aler and Howard. And then a
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: more specific kind of question mark to eliminate was I
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: want to see the nose tackle position. I want to
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: see why a Black at nose tackle. I want to
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: see how Benton might handle himself. But I think if
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: the plan is to transition ya Black to nose tackle,
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: I think it's smart to let him iron out some
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: of the kinks and get an eye on his form
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: and live drills in the preseason. Couldn't agree more, Pat, Yeah,
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: we'll say and just cleaning up penalties. That's another pat Keys.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: You're a little redundant from pat but that's something that's
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: very important.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: Mcgingji's hot lead last week took a tough l over
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: thirty seven and a half points, with the score being
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: twenty eight to nine. Thirty seven were scored. We're now
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: one on one for the year. This week we got
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: Steelers money line and over thirty eight and a half,
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: so fifty five percent of the money is on Jets
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: plus three and a half. Thought about taking the number there.
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: It didn't like the three and a half there. I
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: think a field goal, you know, maybe decides this game.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: Over thirty eight and a half.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: Eighty three percent of the money is on under thirty
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: eight and a half, so I like taking that anytime
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: the public BET's one way, bet the other way. That
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Steelers money line in the over bet is going for
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: plus one sixty eight right now. I like it.
- 1:22:53Speaker 10: I like it.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: I was going to suggest to bet the over, and
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: I hadn't seen your hot leads, so we're thinking, I
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: like here, But yeah, you have two quarterbacks and Aler
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: and Howard that are really really vigorously competing for roster
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: spots in pool. Positions, and then you have the Jets
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: who have some competitions of their own as well. So
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: I think, like I said, against bad teams, the over
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: is something you should look for in the preseason.
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: Absolutely, Aircraft had a couple of things to send us
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: this week as well, So let's kick it to everyone's
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: favorite segment.
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: Things to watch from Aircraft's high.
- 1:23:29Speaker 15: In the scot Soldier de Mensen soldier, don't we whyready
- 1:23:35Speaker 15: to captain?
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: Fendants?
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: Prepare for kake off.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: Don't get too high, don't get too low. We're purely
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: evaluating players right now. Side note, did you know that
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: the Steelers will spend the sixth months cash this year?
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: That kind of big money brings big expectations In my opinion.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: I don't think it does. And so he had texted
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: this earlier. Sorry, Aircraft, I completely ignored you earlier this morning.
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: You had texted that question and I he texted a
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: little group we have and said, can anyone guess where
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: the Steelers are in cash spending this year? I wouldn't
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: have guessed. I would have guessed higher than six honestly,
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: because they've been thrown out a lot of contracts with
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: a lot of you know, guaranteed money and bonuses up front,
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: and they've been kind of light in cash spending the
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: past few years, and they have to get up to
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: that threshold. I think it's like ninety eight percent of
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: uh over over three years, you have to average out
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: ninety eight percent of spending has to be in cash,
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: and they were very much under that. So let me
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: look that roll up now.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: So I'm not talking about let me tell you this
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: on the flip side. When Aircraft goes on this, he said,
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: cash spending this year twenty five percent more than the cap.
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: Spending is at three seventy five million. CAP is like
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: three h one and some change or something like that.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: Cash is the money that we actually paid out to
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: the players. Not all of that will hit the cap
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: at the same time. So, for example, if our cash
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: spending is three seventy five and the CAP is three
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: hundred seventy five million gets deferred to future contracts. Yes,
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: when you're trying to build a team, that could be
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: a problem. My response to Aircraft was cap isn't real.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: He says, it's definitely real, low key, big big fucks.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: Next year only gonna have three million to work with.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: DK will definitely need a rework to make space for
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: Mason McCormick and Zach Frazier almost definitely have to cut
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: Jalen Ramsey too.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: We'll be fine next year because I was looking into
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: this earlier as well, and there really isn't a lot
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: of guaranteed money on the books next year, so there's
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: a lot of reworking. And there is a rule in
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: the NFL. I butchered it. It's a ninety percent floor.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: So over a three year window in individuals, team's total
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: cash payout which is base salaries, signing, bonuses, and earned incentives,
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: cannot drop below ninety percent of the combined salary cap
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: for those three years total on average. So essentially what
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: that means is teams must spend at least ninety percent
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: of the cumulative salary cap in cash over that span.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Does that make sense?
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: No, No, it doesn't, And no matter how many times
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: you explain it, I'm really not gonna understand it. All
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: I know is that the cash is not real and
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: the cap or the cap is not real because you
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: can rework deal and make the cap work.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Yeah, let me try one more time, and I'll keep
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: this short. Whatever you pay a bonus and you pay
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: somebody in cash, you can spread that out over five
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: years after that point, right, you can uh spread it
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: out over five years, But over a three year span,
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: you have to spend at least ninety five percent of
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: the salary cap in cash, and that could be ninety
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: one year, at one hundred percent the next year, averaging
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: out to ninety five percent.
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: So the Steelers have been below that threshold the past
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: couple of years in cash spending, so they had to
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: get back up to that this year. So that's it's
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: not a it's not a surprise that that's kind of
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: how it worked out. It's your point. Salary cap comes
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: into play whenever you kind of get yourself in trouble
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: with guaranteed money.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not going to under understand that, Pat, you
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: could explain it a third time. I'm not going to
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: understand it. All I know is the cap isn't real
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: because we can. We can rework a deal and make
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: it work as long as and what you're saying is
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: as long as that money is not.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Guaranteed, as long as a good portion of it is
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: not guaranteed. Okay, And I'll send you a video after
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: we get off here. That helped me understand it a
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: lot better and probably could explain it better. Okay, maybe
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: we'll tweet it out.
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, tweet it out. Last thing we wanted to
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: touch on before we moved on into some voicemails. We
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: wanted to make sure that everyone knows some of the
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: players who are gonna be out there, and the numbers.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: I had a tough time with numbers. I wish they
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: would have gave us a program like they used to
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: back in the day. Pat, I have the roster pulled up,
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna go all the stats pulled up from last
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: week's game. I'm gonna go ahead and list some of
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: these guys off.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: You ready, Are you gonna expect me to know numbers
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: or something?
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: I'll Why don't I say a player's name and then
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: you guess the number? Well, do this really quick, Julius
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: Well Schoff the linebacker.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: The German? I don't know is number? Okay? Did you
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: want to Did you want me to mention that real quick?
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: We talked about that at Hinz Field. What with the
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: international exemption?
- 1:29:05Speaker 16: Refresh my memory there, Pat, Yeah, see the NFL in
- 1:29:09Speaker 16: their plan to expand to different markets under the guise
- 1:29:15Speaker 16: of you know, diversity and inclusion, right, really to make
- 1:29:20Speaker 16: extra money.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: We'll save that conspiracy for another time, but basically it
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: grants a franchise an extra spot to develop somebody from
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: another country during the off season, so it doesn't affect
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: the ninety man roster. It's the international player program or
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: pathway program or whatever. So essentially, if you have an
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: international player, he can earn a spot on the active
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: roster during the off season without counting against the amount
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: of players you can have.
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: And that is Julius Welshoff.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Yes, he is from I believe Germany.
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: Germany, yep, I know that because in high school we
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: had a German transfer to idiot whose name was Julius
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: He is number forty five, okay ready, number twenty eight.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: I just went backwards on you. Robert Spears Jennings.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: Oh fuck yeah, okay. Deniko Slaughter he's nineteen. We talked
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: about that already.
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: Yep, we talked about him Dayalen Everett.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: Twenty twenty three, twenty.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: Three, good job, Pat d Lineman, Gabriel Rubio, I don't know,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: ninety six linebacker Carson Bruner.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: He's in the forties right, forty four, forty four Okay.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: Yep, yep, Kyler Bob your guy.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: Uh, sixty five, Yeah, I remember thinking sixty five. Oh,
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: another sack.
- 1:31:02Speaker 7: From sixty five? Okay, remember this is one we had
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: from last year. A cz o to mayweow.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: Ninety three ninety three Okay, yep A Sante Samuel winner
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: at camp.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: Twenty two double deuce.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: Moving on to the offensive side of things. Running back
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: Lou Nichols, I don't know. Thirty five. Fullback Riley Nowakowski.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: Oh, come on, you're better than this bat. You gonna
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: one in one hundred chance here. You want me to
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: guess number thirty seven?
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: Brandon Smith, wide.
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: Receiver, Oh, I want to say thirty eight eighty seven.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: I think he's hurt too. I don't think he's playing
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: this week. I think we might have forgot to mention him.
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: Running back Travis Homer.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: Twenty Caleb Johnson's twenty twenty Dylan Everett we said was
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: twenty three twenty one.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: Yeah, good context clues there. Wide receiver Max Hurlman.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: Oh, I should know this one.
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: Yeah, it was my boy.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: He almost had a touchdown this week too.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: I know, man, I don't know you'd tell me eighty.
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: Four that's the white Antonio Brown.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. I remember at training camp. I think
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: you were that last year too. I was thinking eighty four,
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: who's that white play yep?
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: And then final tight end Robert Tanyan, he's eighty three,
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: eighty three. Great job, pat ronof as.
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: Not too bad, but maybe fifty to fifty, maybe a
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: little less.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: Once you did better.
- 1:33:03Speaker 5: When you started guessing, you said, I don't know, I
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: like five of them.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: I didn't want to waste. It's not good radio when
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: in extra three minutes round because somebody wants to go.
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: It's better than said and I don't know.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: No, I don't think it is.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: Let's let's take a break and let's thank this our sponsors.
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: You probably sound like you eat a fucking Heinesfield French fry.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Oh I had a bug, just I had a bug
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: just fly in my mouth, dude.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: I was like, what the fuck is?
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: It was like a fly or something.
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: Oh my god, that almost made me gag.
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: That's good radio.
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: Let's take a break for some station identification. We get backward.
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: If your voicemails.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Beer, cigarettes, football, high fruit, toast, cord syrup, big trucks, fireworks, shows,
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: heavy machinery, big game, hunting, farmers, dands, first responder, Cuban cigars,
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: high cholesterol, more beer, ten dollars, blackjackeands, good se sent wings,
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: truck nuts, and tarps.
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: Off radio.
- 1:34:23Speaker 17: Here we go, ring ring Hello, Ring Ring Hello, Ring
- 1:34:33Speaker 17: Ring Hello, Ring ring Hello.
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: We have a bad connection.
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: Thanks for sticking with us. Tarps off listeners.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: Now we're gonna hear from you the best listeners, The
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: best callers in the world are first comes from Parts unknown.
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: Geronimo Mills called a few times last year. I don't
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: know if his voicemails ever made it to air. They
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: did get censored for a variety of reasons, or the
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: files were lost too.
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: Mills, what do you go to hear, Bob.
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: If they're moy girandomal Yes, indeed round the metal Mills
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: Mills short for millions. Why because I'm a millionaire as
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: you all know, So yeah, I'm calling from the millionaire
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: Paradise Valley. That's not Little Saint James.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: Don't worry.
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: I do not buck children like some other colors that
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: we have sliss hearts off you never know I'm talking about,
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: so I only have much football discussion, more of you know,
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: a subway take like that Brown guys that's a subway
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: takes the great.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: I like to listen to them.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: So here's my take, and it's about the USA. I
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: say the USA went stop as a nation once we
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: stopped smoking cigarettes, specifically cigarettes inside. As we all know,
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: cigarette side are good for you. That's the only way
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: cigarettes should be smoked. Sometimes it's too cool, sometimes it's
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: too hot, but inside it's always right. And I think
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: that America what soft of a nation once we fan
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: cigarettes inside. The other say is figarettes are disgusting, especially
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: in America. Whys I they're not being smoked in side,
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: they're smoking side. Different stories, but they're not, so they're disgusting. However,
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: when you leave the country, it is your American obligation
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: to smoke as many cigarettes as you can outdoors, indoors,
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: into a grandmother's mouth. It doesn't matter.
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: And those are the wise words.
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: Of a millionaires, because that's my name. Once again, this
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: is Geronimo Mills, the Mills ashore for millions and going
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: from a millionaire vallely millionaire Paradise, Sally it's not a
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: little thing.
- 1:37:05Speaker 8: Name.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: My name is not Handy.
- 1:37:09Speaker 13: I kind about the sea.
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: You're gonna really excited about the Steelers, and I'm gonna
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: go back to Roman Wilson any time.
- 1:37:16Speaker 18: Tumescown every game.
- 1:37:18Speaker 19: I thought, you've come a millionaire.
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: I take care. You know.
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: That guy doesn't normally make sense, but I think he
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: was onto something there.
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: He explained it to me that six inside, dude, six
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: inside are Remember I've had this conversation many times just
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: growing up in this country. We're kind of the last
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: generation that remembers being asked smoking or non smoking.
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: And the smokings got a point.
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: The smoking was always there was never a line for
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: the smoking, and if you want a non smoking you
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: had to wait an extra ten to twenty minutes.
- 1:37:57Speaker 5: Right, that's such a great point.
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: Pot.
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: Are you saying we need to allow smoking back into restaurants.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: I think if certain restaurants because right now in PA,
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: which is less it's actually less strict in PA, which
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: is crazy because usually PA is more strict. But right
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: now you have to there's a certain criteria you can meet,
- 1:38:17Speaker 2: but you're allowed to have smoking bars. You can't sell food,
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: and you have to have proper.
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: V I know the law. It's ten of your like
- 1:38:26Speaker 3: your income can't be food based.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: And yep, and you have to have those those vents,
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: those filters up top.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: You don't have to, No, you do. Maybe maybe now.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: I haven't been at a smoking bars since COVID.
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: Dude, I go to smoking bars a lot. I love
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: Marti Gras in uh Oh.
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: I guess that.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: That's one of my favorite bars. I was there a
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago and my stomach wasn't feeling right
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: all day. Usually when that happens, like ninety nine times
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: out of one hundred, I'll just drink a bunch and
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: then I'll feel better. I'm not saying I'm an alcoholic.
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: What I'm doing right now.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: Anyway, I went to Marti Graus. I met some friends
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: there and I had one double rum and diet and
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: they have the strongest drinks in Pittsburgh, to be fair.
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: But I had one drink and I went into the
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: bathroom and I went to take a piss, and I
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: just got real dizzy. I felt like I was gonna
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: pass out. I smoked like a whole cigar. Everyone was
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: smoking cigarettes around me. And then I went home and
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: just threw up everywhere, like all night, just from I
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: don't maybe stomach virus or the cigarette smoke or something,
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: but uh, that socks, dude. Tobacco sickness is one of
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: the worst. Like if you get no, I'm not sure.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like, you ever smoked too many cigarettes,
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: or smoke too many cigars or maybe put a too
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: strong as in in and you get like tobacco sickness.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: Nicotine nicotine sickness.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, never from a cigar a cigar, but from
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: those Joey man back in the day, man, I remember
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: taking two of them, you know, hitting two at the
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: same time and just getting the spins.
- 1:40:07Speaker 5: It was like three o'clock in the afternoon.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: I had to go home.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: It's one of just the now you just feel nasty,
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: you feel grateful.
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: Chemicals. Oh the cigarettes though, I could have one hundred
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: of those and be all right. I think Mills is
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: onto something. I think we need to bring SIGs back
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: inside in America. I think the correlation does equal causation
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: on this one.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: He usually does. I was taught that in uh school.
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: Yeah, great, call Jeronima Mills. Hope to hear from you again.
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: All right, let's get to our next one. Who's this one?
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: From this?
- 1:40:42Speaker 5: I think this is Fobby Fobby on the Mount. Let's
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: hear from Fobby on the Mount.
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: Probably got you boy, Togain, I hope boy and Georgia
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: Sason getting ready football, yeah, thinking which I was admittedly
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: at the beach this past weekend for the first game
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: Michie guys.
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: There good time though I.
- 1:41:08Speaker 15: Was a melily a little hammer to watch the game.
- 1:41:10Speaker 14: Don't exactly remember too much.
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: For what I do remember, I did enjoy.
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: I knew you guys probably talked about the majority of
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: things on the pod today.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: So my big thing is Jeremy Bernard, Roman Wilson.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: I don't know, man, it was.
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: Like a little bit of a concept to me. I
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: liked both Friday.
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: I'm thinking Jeremy consensus chain.
- 1:41:28Speaker 15: Let me know your thoughts.
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: And one last tipbit, Pat, you sit on the last part.
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: You know this is a glorified practice or something. It's
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: not really a game.
- 1:41:37Speaker 20: I just want you to let I just want to
- 1:41:39Speaker 20: let you know from a you know, don't mention state player.
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: This is some of these guys last games, some of
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: these last moments of football day to play.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: There's never a.
- 1:41:48Speaker 5: Susing as a practice is.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: A real game right here.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: Remember that for Game two, catch Friday last and not
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: least those dealers. Yeah, I will say something just got
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: flooded with nostalgia fall beyond the maut. Very rarely goes
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: into Steeler games, but also very rarely misses a tailgate,
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: and that takes a special kind of guy.
- 1:42:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a great point. It was I missed as
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: much as he missed us at the beach, we missed
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: him at the tailgate. He had a great point, pat
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: leave it all out in the field. Yeah, it kind
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: of echoes what Mike McCarthy said. You know, I care
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: about winning, no matter how unimportant it may seem to
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: other people. I care about winning.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: And he made a great point about the Roman Wilson
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: Jeremy Bernard battle. Right now, it's still Romans to lose.
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: I think he's done more than enough to be the
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: wide receiver three on this team. But things can change.
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: And you know, Jeremy looked a lot better than Roman,
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: although Roman had a beautiful catch on a comeback routes,
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: but apart from that, he was pretty quiet and and
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: Jeremy was. He was bawling out there. So I wouldn't
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: be surprised if to start the season Roman is the
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: wide receiver three, and maybe to end the season Jeremy
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: takes over. What are your thoughts?
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I would, I would probably echuld have that. There
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: was a lot of talk in the seats at the game,
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: you know, from our seat neighbors about you know, can
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: we believe in Roman Wilson, Pat I'd like to stake
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: my official claim on Roman Wilson. I'm not buying it.
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: I'm not buying the hype right now. I think, you know,
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: we can hear all we want to hear about camp, sure,
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: and about practice and about things of that nature. He
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: didn't impress me on the field. Jeremy Bernard impressed me
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: on the field. He didn't impress me on the field.
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: Swift or wet Jet impressed me on the field. I
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: need to see him do something in a game situation
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: on the field before I start starting thinking about buying
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: into it. So I'm out on the hype. I'm willing
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: to be wrong on this, and it's not like I'm
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: staking my reputation on this, but I'm not letting myself
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: get suckered into the hype until I see it with
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: my own eyes. Yeah, I'm all in on Jeremy Benard.
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: I think that's perfectly fair. And Roman coming out of
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: the draft with somebody I was not super high on.
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: I believe I used terms like waste of a pick,
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: and I just didn't see a lot of a lot
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: of raw measurable talent or physical prowess coming out of college.
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: He was obviously fast, right, I mean no doubt about that,
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: but he's shorts, He's a wiling blocker, but he's still undersized.
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: But I'm coming around on him. I think he's him
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: and Rogers are developing a legitimate connection and bonds. Having
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: said that, me coming around on Roman and thinking he's
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: gonna contribute a lot more would be like, and we
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: talked about this on one of the last episodes, would
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: be like Calvin Austin, Like I could see him this
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: season having a very similar season to like Calvin Austin
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: last year statistically, Jeremy, Jeremy or no, no, no, no, Roman.
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: Roman, Yeah, we'll talk. We talked about this, and we
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: looked at the statistics and Calvin Austin did not have
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: as good of a year as we thought he had. No,
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: I'm I kind of at this point, Pat, I'm thinking
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: he was worse. I'm not buying the hype.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Okay, you're saying under three hundred and seventy yards.
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I gotta see it before
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: I believe it. I think I think two weeks into
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: the season, I will tell you whether I was wrong
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: or right. Okay, we can go from there, but I
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: need to see this before I start buying the hype.
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: For what would be a year over under? If you
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: were Vegas, what would be your line?
- 1:45:45Speaker 18: Oh?
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: Man, I think three fifty is a very fair line.
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: Okay, my line personally, and this wouldn't be Vegas's line
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: because they're going to make money. But I'd say three
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: ninety five.
- 1:45:58Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: I think that's that's high for a line.
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: Okay, it's definitely high for a line.
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: But in terms of actual line, oh, I don't know.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: I don't even know if there is one. I mean,
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: I'm sure you can google it and find something. Roman
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: will soon.
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: Let's try and find this sevn yards betting line. That's
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: a great question.
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: Major sports sports books have not widely posted season receiving
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: yours yep.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: Early micro markets or community hovered around three hundred and
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: fourteen and a half yards. That's what's not available anymore
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: but early micro markets or community lines from girl dude, Yeah.
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: We are not sponsored by Calshi three fourteen.
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: And a half time. I think three fourteen and a
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: half even is. I mean, I'd obviously take the over,
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: but I don't think that's.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: Where are you seeing that? He is based off? Billy?
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: So speaking right now with your robot microphone, is it
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: really Yeah?
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: No, I just searched Robert Wilson receiving yard twenty twenty
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: six betting line, and uh, I guess it's Oh, it's
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: according to Steelers Depot. Actually, Okay, so Steele, this is
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: where googleway, I got it from Steelers Depot back in
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: July posted quote over under three hundred and fourteen and
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: a half receiving guards for Roman Wilson.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: Okay, and I think it's safe to say that that
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: number has jumped since July. Yes, based on what's coming
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: out of camp.
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: So your line is probably if you're talking about a
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: betting line, yeah, your line's probably pretty I'm just I'm
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: a little higher on him, but I'm still not super high.
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: But anyway, good call. We on that Robby thank you.
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: Yeah off, caller of the year. Let's hear it from
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: Uncle Andy.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: This is Jonamo's Epstein Island connection.
- 1:47:56Speaker 21: Do here for Blomboro calling for the first time in
- 1:47:59Speaker 21: twenty twenty six. Hey, just excited to call in get
- 1:48:04Speaker 21: back in a ballgame with the guys.
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: Hey, fun week.
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: Last week preseason game one.
- 1:48:10Speaker 20: Tian's doing Stellar's any good? I almost called him the
- 1:48:14Speaker 20: Defenn State Stellars with that Drew Aller back air quarterback?
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: How was that?
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: Man?
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: Dumb?
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: He has to do with one of my.
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: Questions here coming up?
- 1:48:22Speaker 20: But uh, wanta wanna shout out Pat Pat and the
- 1:48:25Speaker 20: smoke signals.
- 1:48:27Speaker 10: What a fucking performance, man, blew my fucking head off.
- 1:48:31Speaker 10: I am a proud Uncle Andy man pat ripping that
- 1:48:35Speaker 10: fucking guitar, getting all the ladies.
- 1:48:39Speaker 21: Wet on the dance floor. I was worried about my girlfriend.
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: I brought my girlfriend.
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: I was like, damn, she's gonna leave me for Patt.
- 1:48:45Speaker 21: He's up the ripping and fucking getting after it.
- 1:48:48Speaker 13: I'm cooked.
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna get anyways. Hey.
- 1:48:53Speaker 21: Two questions from a Pittsburgh Stellar game on preseason game one.
- 1:48:57Speaker 20: Uh, Jeremy Bernard versus Roman Wilson side receiver three. I
- 1:49:03Speaker 20: thought Jeremy Bernard did a hell of a job.
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: He's a big guy from Roll Tide, Alabama.
- 1:49:08Speaker 20: He's he's gonna be a name on the Pittsburgh Stillers.
- 1:49:13Speaker 20: Roman Wilson hasn't done shit. He's bruising his ass on
- 1:49:17Speaker 20: a fucking bench.
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: What's he been doing? I think Jeremy Bernard needs a chance.
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: What hen's think other than that?
- 1:49:26Speaker 20: I'm asking a question about the quarterback situation. What's the
- 1:49:31Speaker 20: doomsday scenario? What does the record of the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 1:49:35Speaker 20: need to be for the Stillers to consider the backup
- 1:49:40Speaker 20: years past?
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: We've waited too long.
- 1:49:43Speaker 21: We've gotten ourselves in a hole middle of the season,
- 1:49:46Speaker 21: towards the end of the season. I think we need
- 1:49:47Speaker 21: to make a move quicker and sooner than fucking years past.
- 1:49:53Speaker 21: We've got Mike McCarthy and fucking Aaron Rodgers and get
- 1:49:56Speaker 21: the band back together.
- 1:49:58Speaker 3: But hey, we're not guaranteed, Albius. What's the need to be.
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: For them Stillers?
- 1:50:04Speaker 21: Can we consider that fucking starting quarterback and put somebody
- 1:50:07Speaker 21: else center?
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: Let me know Banks starts off.
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: Love you, We'll talk can By good call good call
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: on coo Andy.
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: Great call on cle Andy. Yeah, Smoke Signals was fucking smoking, dude.
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: Smoke Signals was absolutely smoking. What a band. If you
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: haven't seen Smoke Signals before him live, you need to
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: see Smoke Signals put on a good show.
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: But uh, absolutely good question about Roman and Jeremy, we
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: covered that pretty well.
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of echoed what Fobby was saying. You know,
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: he thinks Jeremy is gonna snatch it. And I liked
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: what I liked what on Cole Andy said he hasn't
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: seen ship from Roman Wilson.
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: No, that's that's a very good point. No, I mean, listen,
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: you could uh what did Tomlin used? There's a fine
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: line between uh, smash and making wine, taking wine and
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: squad grapes. Making make the wine is squashing grapes. So
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: Roman's been doing a lot of grape squashing. But I
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: have yet to taste any wine. I don't know if
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: I think that's the point. I don't think he's squashed
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: any grapes. I think he's been drinking. No, he's squashing grapes.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: He's putting the work in right, yes, but it doesn't matter.
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: It doesn't matter if you don't have the wine you're
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: just smashing grapes. Do you understand the tumblinism?
- 1:51:27Speaker 22: You could stand in your house all day and step
- 1:51:30Speaker 22: on grapes, but if you don't make wine, if you
- 1:51:33Speaker 22: don't make wine, you're just stepping on grapes.
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: That's kind of the whole point on my Jeremy Bernard
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: over Roban Wilson argument. And I, yeah, you guys, I
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: don't know I even smashing grapes.
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: And Jeremy Bernard's feet are so much bigger and stronger,
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: his lower bad He's a grape smashing machine. All this
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: to say, Jeremy Bernard is so much better built for
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: the white receiver position in the NFL. It's not even close.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: I mean, Jeremy Bernard is a specimen of a man
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: in Roman. Wilson not so much.
- 1:52:10Speaker 5: No, And I like, what is how you brought up
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: size of body parts there?
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: Pat, I think there's a really important body part size
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: that's gonna make a difference on this team.
- 1:52:19Speaker 5: Hey, it's this year or it's the future, and it's
- 1:52:21Speaker 5: hand sized.
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: Drew Howers got some massive hands.
- 1:52:26Speaker 7: Yeah, he's got nine in seven eighth inches, No way,
- 1:52:31Speaker 7: eight point four eight point.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: Five eight and a half inches Kenny's and you know
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: that that was a team measurement eight and a half.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: Yeah, how funny is it? We just know Kenny Pikett's
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: hand size off.
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: The top of Jenny Pickett's eight and a half inch
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: hand size was when they extended it out to where
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: he could actually hold it, because remember his hands were
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: like kind of fucked up, like not only were they
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: did he have small hands, but he banded his hands
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: that made it even smaller than they were.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: Doctors are amazed. Two inches in three weeks, Canty Pickett's
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: hands are amazing.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: We went an inch and a half in two years. Dude,
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: that's pretty good. Three years. How long has it been?
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: Not long enough?
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: Long enough?
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: Going into what was his question the quarterback competition? Yeah,
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: oh he said, how long healthy Rogers out?
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: Yeah, they gotta be mathematically eliminated for the playoffs if
- 1:53:32Speaker 3: you're gonna pull.
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: Rogers, and pretty early too, because if it's like.
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: To start off like oh eight or two and ten
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: or something.
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: If it's like week eighteen and we're playing on the
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: road against the Ravens, I believe Week eighteen and the
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: Ravens playoffs are on the line, and you know, we
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: just got eliminated the week before, Like, you better believe
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: Rogers is gonna suit up for one final game. But
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: you know, if it's if we're out, we're out of
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: the playoffs three weeks before the end of the season.
- 1:54:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Penn State fan needs to calm down because if
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: we're seeing any quarterback other than Aaron Rodgers this year,
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: it's a disaster of a season.
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: And listen, dude, I have to say this because training
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: camp was really eye opening, where this is almost sacrilegious
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: for someone on a sports podcast to say, or even
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: a man in general right to be submissive, to be
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: a sub to another man. But if Mike McCarthy lays
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: eyes on Mason or excuse me, on Alur and Howard
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: and deems them not ready or deems them ready for
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: that matter, then I'll believe it. Because my opinion going
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: into training camp before I saw the practice was that
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: Aler and Howard were killing it. And then I saw
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: them actually practice and they both look like shit. I
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: mean they just did. They look like two rookies going
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: up against a future Hall of Famer. I mean that
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: was the difference. So all this to say, if at
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: some point in the season McCarthy feels comfortable making the switch.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: I'll believe it, but I'm not going to be yelling
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: at the rafters for him to put someone in that
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: probably isn't ready.
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: Absolutely not, Pat, I think this is, you know, kind
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: of leads back into the Jets game this week, like
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: I want to see Mason out there.
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: And here's what this means.
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: If Mason plays, Will Howard's on the chopping block. If
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: or sorry, if Mason doesn't play and it's just Howard
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: and Aller, Will Howard's on the chopping block because that means,
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: you know, Mason's pretty much solidified and secured. If Mason plays,
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: it means there's trying to shop him around. It means
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: that there's still a competition going on, or they want
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: to increase his value, you know, for a potential suitor.
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: If he doesn't play, you know, Will Howard, You're on
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: the block. That's kind of how I see things right now.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: Pat, I've been drinking a lot and smoking a little
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: bit too, so I don't know what you just said,
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: but uh, let's move on.
- 1:55:56Speaker 5: You got to answer the week.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: Isn't there one more or that the most okay cool
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: I do the injured of the week. This actually I
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: think it's a repeat, but it's somebody that I actually
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: saw for the first time ever. I'd heard the lore, right,
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: I'd heard the stories. Stories had made their way over
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: to Scuore Hill for quite some time, and I just
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: didn't understand, you know. And then I moved to I
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: moved to the neighborhood, and I just forgot that this
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: person existed. I forgot this person existed. And I was
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: coming home late at night on a week weekday, maybe
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: like ten am or ten pm. And who do I
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: see the flag walking up my street with two poles
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: over his shoulders, two flags on one side, one flag
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: on the other. It was Pirates versus it was Pirates
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: versus Marlins. And he had two Pirate flags and Miami
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: Marlins flag on He must have a flag for every.
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: Team, and every yeah he does he does because every
- 1:56:58Speaker 3: time the Steelers or the Pirates or the he does
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: hockey too.
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: In the winter, in the snow, he does hockey.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: He wearing shorts, or.
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: I got I think, so I got a double check.
- 1:57:11Speaker 3: I got a double check. But yeah, he's wearing shorts.
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: There's pat Is describing a gentleman. I don't know how
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: aud he is. He could be sixteen, he could be
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: thirty five, Like realistically he's probably about six three, you know,
- 1:57:27Speaker 3: two eighty three hundred pounds.
- 1:57:29Speaker 5: Is that how you would describe him.
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of. Well, Look, mc Jimji and
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: I have a soft spartan our heart for people who
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: may be on the spectrum, right, I mean, they're just
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: we we love them.
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: They're awesome.
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: They're fantastic and that's not even a joke or sarcasm,
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: like they're fucking awesome. So this is a gentleman who
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: was more likely than not on the spectrum. Loves his flags,
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: loves his flags, he carries them around and just makes
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: the neighborhood a better place.
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: We love seeing him out there.
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: So yeah, today I saw him flying a On one
- 1:58:05Speaker 3: pole he had steelers and jets, and on the other
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: pole he had the Rams.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: The Rams. You said it was the Rams said that
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: on Snapchat, so.
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: I can't no, it's it was the Rams, I promise you.
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: I don't know if the picture is any good, but
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: it was the Los Angeles Rams. I think if you
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: click into the live for the picture should be able
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: to see it a little bit better, but yeah, it was.
- 1:58:26Speaker 5: It was absolutely the Rams.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: It was in the neighborhood. Chat here it is. Yeah,
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: it looks like Steelers, but I'll take your word steel
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: it's the Steelers.
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: I promise you it's the Rams. I saw it with
- 1:58:39Speaker 3: my own eyes, but for some reason, I promise you
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: it's the Rams.
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: Oh, we could make a sticker of them. I'm gonna
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: make a sticker of them.
- 1:58:51Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyway, this guy's freaking awesome. If anyone has any
- 1:58:55Speaker 3: extra flags laying around, I got like.
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: Three and should give Tarp's off flag.
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: Oh dude, that'd be so cool. Dude, we should, dude,
- 1:59:05Speaker 3: we we I got like three flags in my truck
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: that I've been waiting to give him, like if I
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: saw him. But every time I see him, I'm working
- 1:59:12Speaker 3: upstairs and I wouldn't be able to make it out
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: front because he walks so damn fast.
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: Dude, he moves. Yeah, he hauls it. And he kind
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: of disappears too, like he was he was walking up
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: my street. I guess he might have just went into
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: his house, as opposed to mysteriously magically disappearing now that
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: I think about it.
- 1:59:30Speaker 3: No, I mean he does, he does My street.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: He was walking up my street and I barked, and
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: I looked back and he just wasn't there anymore. He
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: just disappeared.
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: I've seen him outside of Shopping Save. I've seen him
- 1:59:42Speaker 3: outside of Coughlins. I've seen him in Allantown. I've seen
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: him on Grand View, like he is all over the
- 1:59:47Speaker 3: place up here. This guy rocks.
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: Hell.
- 1:59:50Speaker 5: Yeah, genuinely, this guy fucking rocks.
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: Shout out flag Boy.
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: Yeah, shoutout flag boy.
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: Next time any anyone, if anyone in Mount Washington is listen,
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: next time you see flag boy, dude, give him something
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: good him a good flag.
- 2:00:05Speaker 5: This guy's got some sick ass flags.
- 2:00:08Speaker 12: Yep.
- 2:00:10Speaker 5: In turn two, but you got a trivia question.
- 2:00:14Speaker 19: Yeah, yep, let's get into trivia. Last week we asked
- 2:00:17Speaker 19: you guys, which future Super Bowl winning NFL head coach
- 2:00:21Speaker 19: got his very first coaching job as a volunteer assistant
- 2:00:25Speaker 19: with the Steelers in ninety two for just five dollars
- 2:00:27Speaker 19: a week.
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: That was Bruce Arians Arians.
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: Yep, yep, yep.
