- 0:01Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan. Here comes the Mark Simone Show
- 0:05Speaker 1: on seven ten WR.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, it's supposed to be a great Fourth of July weekend,
- 0:13Speaker 2: people taking time off's supposed to be amazing. Now it's
- 0:16Speaker 2: gonna be one hundred degrees and I'm looking at the
- 0:19Speaker 2: real feel one hundred and ten. So this is awful.
- 0:23Speaker 2: But if you're thinking of moving to Florida, try Thursday,
- 0:28Speaker 2: Friday Saturday. See if you like that weather. If you
- 0:30Speaker 2: don't like Thursday, Friday and Saturday's weather, you don't want
- 0:34Speaker 2: to move to Florida because it's like that for about
- 0:36Speaker 2: four months a year. So it's gonna be brutal. You know,
- 0:39Speaker 2: they're having the Big America two point fifty celebration in Washington, DC.
- 0:44Speaker 2: This is a massive event with fireworks, with parties, with
- 0:47Speaker 2: all sorts of stuff, many many, many thousands of people
- 0:51Speaker 2: expected to show. But I don't know how this is
- 0:53Speaker 2: going to affect that, because as bad as it'll be here,
- 0:56Speaker 2: it'll be worse in DC. It's expected to get to
- 0:59Speaker 2: a hundred here, it'll be more like one hundred and
- 1:01Speaker 2: five in DC. That's south. It's going to be a
- 1:06Speaker 2: lot warmer there, So I don't know who's going to
- 1:08Speaker 2: stand outside in all of that heat. So it's going
- 1:11Speaker 2: to be a rough weekend. And I don't know how
- 1:15Speaker 2: we're going to get through this, but you know, I
- 1:17Speaker 2: can tell you all the same things. Stay hydrated, drink
- 1:19Speaker 2: tons of water. If you're going to be outside, stay
- 1:22Speaker 2: in air conditioning. So this is going to kill a
- 1:25Speaker 2: lot of plans for the Fourth of July, many of
- 1:27Speaker 2: them outdoors. And you're not going to be outside on Friday. Thursday.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I think it's the worst day. But Friday's pretty bad too.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It cools off, drops to like the mid nineties maybe
- 1:37Speaker 2: on on Saturday. So lots to get to. We'll get
- 1:41Speaker 2: to Iran, we'll bring you all the latest. We'll get
- 1:44Speaker 2: to President Trump. We'll get to the crazy Democrats and
- 1:48Speaker 2: all the communists getting elected. Comcast is getting rid of NBC.
- 1:54Speaker 2: We'll get to the real reason all those crazy wacko
- 1:57Speaker 2: socialists got elected. This past week. Our buddy mel Brooks
- 2:01Speaker 2: tour turns one hundred today, oh yesterday, actually a hundred.
- 2:07Speaker 2: We think about that, you know, now, the candles cost
- 2:09Speaker 2: more than the cake does a one hundred. Take a
- 2:12Speaker 2: look at my Instagram. It's a good picture of him.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And me on Instagram. Where do we even start. Let's
- 2:20Speaker 2: start with Mom Donnie. What the hell was he doing
- 2:23Speaker 2: on these Sunday shows? This, Mom Donnie. I got to admit,
- 2:30Speaker 2: he's a charming guy with a great smile and a
- 2:32Speaker 2: wonderful personality, and I mean a terrible, evil communist, anti
- 2:37Speaker 2: Semite everything you can think of. But the fact that
- 2:41Speaker 2: they had him on the ABC Sunday Show lead guest
- 2:45Speaker 2: gave him a long time on that Sunday show. They're
- 2:47Speaker 2: really promoting him, trying to make him the new face
- 2:50Speaker 2: of the crazy wing of the Democratic Party. This has
- 2:53Speaker 2: got to upset AOC. She might not be happy about that.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Although remember you know she's talking about running for president.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Remember that, Mom Donnie was not born in this country,
- 3:04Speaker 2: so he cannot be president. He can never run for president.
- 3:09Speaker 2: But Jonathan Carl, the left wing biased fake news guy,
- 3:14Speaker 2: fawning all over Mom Donnie, never asking a tough question,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and no matter what Mom Donnie said, Jonathan Carl just
- 3:23Speaker 2: nodding like a bobblehead, never questioning it.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Listen to this, Republicans are going to make you the
- 3:27Speaker 3: poster child for the Democratic Party left them.
- 3:32Speaker 4: We don't have to ask ourselves what life looks like
- 3:34Speaker 4: if a socialist wins. I won last November, and over
- 3:37Speaker 4: the course of these last six months, what we've delivered
- 3:40Speaker 4: for working people are the very things we were told
- 3:42Speaker 4: were impossible.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody cut this short. He goes on and on,
- 3:46Speaker 2: and he goes through, you know, affordability daycare for two
- 3:49Speaker 2: year olds, and he said, we brought crime to its
- 3:52Speaker 2: lowest level ever. And Jonathan Carl nods, nods, nods, doesn't
- 3:58Speaker 2: say to him, we looked into those numbers. Yeh, it's
- 4:01Speaker 2: down overall, but murder is up dramatically. Robberies are up
- 4:06Speaker 2: through the roof. What about that? But it's Jonathan Carl
- 4:10Speaker 2: fake news, even the question they're going to try to
- 4:13Speaker 2: make you the face of you know, of course, the
- 4:16Speaker 2: first socialist mayor ever of New York City. I mean
- 4:20Speaker 2: nobody is you know, the only good thing for him.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You could say nobody's been more anti semitic. Now you
- 4:25Speaker 2: can't say that anymore. You got Brad Lander, and you
- 4:27Speaker 2: got these other wackos that got elected, I mean real
- 4:31Speaker 2: left wing kooks. Now people, you know, serious political operatives
- 4:36Speaker 2: studying this whole phenomenon, looking crunching numbers and focus groups.
- 4:42Speaker 2: You know the reason those socialists got elected this past week.
- 4:46Speaker 2: The crazy ones had nothing to do with affordability. They'll
- 4:49Speaker 2: tell you that was the issue, affordability and all that.
- 4:53Speaker 2: They got elected for two reasons. One the anti Semitism.
- 4:57Speaker 2: This awful hatred of Israel has taken over the Democratic voters,
- 5:04Speaker 2: especially the younger ones. It's a vicious, sick hatred of Israel.
- 5:08Speaker 2: They'll claim it's just anti Israel, which is a code
- 5:11Speaker 2: word for anti Semitic. The other reason is Trump. They're
- 5:16Speaker 2: sick of these old politicians, the last generation, the real
- 5:21Speaker 2: old hacks. They think they have not been effective standing
- 5:24Speaker 2: up to Trump. Now it's one reason for this phenomenon.
- 5:28Speaker 2: These younger voters think, well, we got to vote in
- 5:30Speaker 2: you know, a whole different breed, younger, crazier. The older
- 5:35Speaker 2: people couldn't stand up to Trump, maybe these people will
- 5:38Speaker 2: do it. You know, they look at a guy like
- 5:40Speaker 2: Chuck Schumer and they're not wrong as just a totally ineffective,
- 5:44Speaker 2: useless character. And Schumer is no matter what your side
- 5:48Speaker 2: you're on, he's just a useless old fossil, a slow dinosaur,
- 5:54Speaker 2: a useless, pandering, cheap politician. So that's why they're going
- 5:58Speaker 2: with these crazies. They think maybe they can stand up
- 6:01Speaker 2: to Trump, maybe they can stop Trump. Yesterday was the
- 6:05Speaker 2: Pride Parade, and I think it was the end of
- 6:09Speaker 2: Chuck Schumer's political career. I have never seen anybody look
- 6:14Speaker 2: more pathetic than Chuck Schumer in the Pride parade. First
- 6:18Speaker 2: of all, he got booed like crazy. Listen to this,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and he is completely tone deaf. He's lost all touch
- 6:33Speaker 2: with the voters. He was the cheapest, hustling, pandering, just
- 6:39Speaker 2: cheap politician in this Pride parade. He's marching down the street,
- 6:43Speaker 2: you know, everybody's just marching and waving. He brings with
- 6:46Speaker 2: him a bullhorn thing a microphone so that he can
- 6:50Speaker 2: talk to the crowd. It was embarrassing and I don't
- 6:54Speaker 2: think he knows it's twenty twenty six he brought this.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's like a bullhorn where an aid is walking next
- 7:01Speaker 2: to him holding the big the bullhorn thing, and Schumer
- 7:05Speaker 2: has the microphone on a long you know, the coiled
- 7:09Speaker 2: phone cord kind of thing, so he's talking into it
- 7:13Speaker 2: while the aid is holding the big part. And the
- 7:16Speaker 2: microphone he's using is from like nineteen fifty eight. It's
- 7:20Speaker 2: the microphone Broderick Crawford used on highway patrol. I mean,
- 7:25Speaker 2: the it just looks so antiquish, and Schumer is just
- 7:31Speaker 2: annoying the crowd. He keeps repeating over and over again
- 7:34Speaker 2: the whole parade. He goes, I was the first senator
- 7:37Speaker 2: ever to march in this parade the nineteen nineties. I
- 7:41Speaker 2: was the first senator ever to march in this bridge.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Is bragging stupidly about nothing, and then he just keeps
- 7:48Speaker 2: repeating over and over again. My daughter is married to
- 7:50Speaker 2: a woman. That's right, my daughter is married to a woman.
- 7:54Speaker 2: He'ps repeating this over and ogain. It's the cheapest, leaziest
- 7:57Speaker 2: pandering and the reaction he got. So it's these old, cheap,
- 8:09Speaker 2: old hustler politicians that that's one reason these younger voters
- 8:14Speaker 2: are completely turned on him, voting in communists, socialists, anti semites,
- 8:19Speaker 2: left wing kooks, and it's just going to continue. So mom,
- 8:23Speaker 2: Donnie gets so much time on this Sunday show.
- 8:26Speaker 4: We need to have a platform and a vision that
- 8:28Speaker 4: doesn't sound as if it was cooked up by consultants,
- 8:32Speaker 4: but instead one that you would say in response to
- 8:34Speaker 4: someone who's asking why can't I afford my rent. Why
- 8:36Speaker 4: can't I afford my groceries? Why can't I afford my childcare?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's the thing. He's got a nice look
- 8:42Speaker 2: on television, nice looking guy. He's got a big smile,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and he talks fast. You know, if you can talk
- 8:47Speaker 2: fast like this, and you can talk faster than most people,
- 8:49Speaker 2: you sound like it must be much smarter. Otherwise, how
- 8:51Speaker 2: could you talk that fast? So, but these communists, it's
- 8:55Speaker 2: perfect for Trump. He was all over this all weekend.
- 9:00Speaker 5: The communists elected in New York City recently. They're communists,
- 9:03Speaker 5: they're not social democrats. They want to completely destroy the
- 9:07Speaker 5: traditional American way of life.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they say all the right things. Everything they say.
- 9:11Speaker 2: If you actually do it, it's a total disaster. Ninety
- 9:14Speaker 2: eight percent of what they say they'll never do.
- 9:16Speaker 5: They're turning communists themselves, becoming a communist party. These are
- 9:20Speaker 5: not social democrats. These are hardcore godless communists. They're godless communists.
- 9:27Speaker 5: All communists are godless. They don't believe in God. This
- 9:31Speaker 5: is the most serious threat to our country since its existence,
- 9:34Speaker 5: in my opinion.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Now there's some Democrats, the old guard in Congress saying
- 9:42Speaker 2: maybe we should not let them cauc us with us.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Maybe we should make them be a separate party, you know,
- 9:47Speaker 2: like Bernie Sanders officially an independent, not a Democrat. Maybe
- 9:52Speaker 2: they should do that, but it's too late. There really
- 9:54Speaker 2: is no more Democratic party. You got taken over. You
- 9:57Speaker 2: lost your party to these people.
- 9:58Speaker 5: They make promises that they know they can't keep. And
- 10:02Speaker 5: the Democrats aren't fighting back. That's why they're dumb. They're
- 10:05Speaker 5: not fighting back. They're afraid.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, notice he calls them the Democrats, the Democrats. You've
- 10:10Speaker 2: lost your party. It's pretty much gone. These guys took
- 10:13Speaker 2: it over. You're pretty much finished. Nothing is this more
- 10:20Speaker 2: mom donning.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Republicans are going to make you the post it's the
- 10:23Speaker 3: same cut.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they're going to make you the postage. Yeah, because
- 10:25Speaker 2: you're a crazy lunatic socialist Left wings sort of a
- 10:30Speaker 2: sort of a coop. So I ran. The latest on
- 10:33Speaker 2: Iran is they did strike a ship. They attacked a
- 10:40Speaker 2: ship in the straight of horn Mouse, a civilian ship.
- 10:46Speaker 2: We quickly responded and fired a lot. They sent their
- 10:52Speaker 2: four drones. We knocked down three of them. It was
- 10:55Speaker 2: pretty bad. So that caused another round of bombing. But
- 10:58Speaker 2: this was extreme bombing of Iran. Let me see, I
- 11:02Speaker 2: think this is it.
- 11:03Speaker 5: That first year, boy, you're the most Popular's happening.
- 11:05Speaker 2: No, let me see, I'll find the Iran cuts. But
- 11:09Speaker 2: it was pretty bad. So they hit Iran very, very hard. Now,
- 11:12Speaker 2: it turns out during that four or five weeks of
- 11:16Speaker 2: ceasefire where we were restocking and resupplying, apparently Iran was
- 11:20Speaker 2: as well. They're getting missiles from somewhere. It's also believed
- 11:24Speaker 2: that before all of this they buried missiles deep underground
- 11:28Speaker 2: and that they've dug them out. So we had hit
- 11:29Speaker 2: them pretty hard. Now, Iran putting out a statement, Islamic
- 11:36Speaker 2: Revolutionary Guard putting out a statement that they have no choice.
- 11:39Speaker 2: They have to have a nuclear bomb. It's the only
- 11:41Speaker 2: way for them to maintain peace, keep themselves safe. They
- 11:46Speaker 2: must have a nuclear weapon. But obviously will never allow
- 11:50Speaker 2: that to happen because they're the biggest sponsor of terrorism
- 11:53Speaker 2: in the world. They're the biggest supplier to terrorist groups,
- 11:58Speaker 2: so obviously we would want them to have any nuclear
- 12:00Speaker 2: material to hand over to a terrorist. So it's got
- 12:04Speaker 2: to stop. In President Trump Saturday said the peace deal
- 12:09Speaker 2: with Iran was fraying. It has falling apart. We may
- 12:13Speaker 2: have to go back in there again. They struck a
- 12:16Speaker 2: civilian ship, tried to and over the weekend we launched
- 12:20Speaker 2: strikes against them, the world larger, much larger than the
- 12:24Speaker 2: previous retaliatory strikes. They were huge. Trump saying, there may
- 12:29Speaker 2: come a point where we're no longer able to be
- 12:32Speaker 2: reasonable and we will have to complete the job militarily.
- 12:36Speaker 2: We will have to wipe them out. Quote. If that happens,
- 12:40Speaker 2: the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist. So
- 12:45Speaker 2: if we have to do that, it'll look better because
- 12:47Speaker 2: he tried every diplomacy method, every peaceful method, and if
- 12:52Speaker 2: you got to wipe them out, you gotta wipe them out.
- 12:54Speaker 2: And that'll be the end of it. Now, remember Iraq,
- 13:00Speaker 2: we went through a lot of the same stuff with
- 13:01Speaker 2: a raq on off. Can't stop, they won't, you know,
- 13:04Speaker 2: we keep playing. Well, everybody forgot about Iraq. It's been,
- 13:07Speaker 2: you know, years, been fifteen years since somebody's even mentioned Iraq.
- 13:12Speaker 2: But they've been going on there, hobbling along for fifteen
- 13:14Speaker 2: years with some kind of a government. But over the weekend,
- 13:17Speaker 2: a bunch of Iraqi political officials were arrested on corruption charges,
- 13:23Speaker 2: stealing money, that's pretty interesting, you see. That's that's how
- 13:28Speaker 2: you know, they're straightening themselves out, becoming a democracy. Got
- 13:31Speaker 2: the more corruption there. Of course you have that with
- 13:33Speaker 2: socialists too, but it's slowly, slowly unraveling there. Hey, the
- 13:40Speaker 2: other thing with mom Donnie. You know these e bikes,
- 13:43Speaker 2: these electric scooters, these things flying around the streets, very dangerous.
- 13:48Speaker 2: People are getting hurt, getting run over. I mean, they're crazy,
- 13:50Speaker 2: these electric scooters, electric bikes, these delivery guys. So the
- 13:57Speaker 2: city council in the state that past some sort of
- 14:00Speaker 2: thing about, you know, regulating them, cracking down, giving them tickets,
- 14:04Speaker 2: stopping that, enforcing. So Mamdani blocked it. It's you know,
- 14:09Speaker 2: it could get passed, but he could just order the
- 14:11Speaker 2: police department, don't enforce this, don't bother the e bikes.
- 14:15Speaker 2: And that's been the case. Now why is mam Donni
- 14:18Speaker 2: protecting those e bikes that are crazy and reckless. Well,
- 14:23Speaker 2: it's part of these left wing cooks, these real fanatical
- 14:25Speaker 2: left wing cooks. They hate cars, They hate automobiles so much.
- 14:30Speaker 2: That's why I got all these plans to reduce sixth Avenue,
- 14:32Speaker 2: Park Avenue, you know, to get rid of the cars.
- 14:35Speaker 2: But I just don't want to crack down on the
- 14:38Speaker 2: e bikes and scooters because they think those are the
- 14:43Speaker 2: anti car people. The other reason is many of the people,
- 14:47Speaker 2: as you be grabbing and are ticketing and arresting and fining,
- 14:51Speaker 2: are illegal immigrants. That's mostly who's doing the delivery work.
- 14:56Speaker 2: And if they got criminal charges these illegal immigrants while
- 14:59Speaker 2: doing the deliver work, criminal charges would make them candidates
- 15:03Speaker 2: for deportation. That's why mom Donnie doesn't want to crack down.
- 15:07Speaker 2: He does going to see them get deported. The other
- 15:10Speaker 2: reason is who are they delivering for. Most of them
- 15:12Speaker 2: are for Amazon and stuff like that, major major supermarket companies.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Amazon and Amazon and those things are making massive donations
- 15:24Speaker 2: to these politicians, and they don't want too much of
- 15:26Speaker 2: a crackdown because it would really hurt their delivery business.
- 15:32Speaker 2: So you got all these different forces clashing on this. Hey,
- 15:36Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two
- 15:39Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 15:44Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten Live from.
- 15:47Speaker 1: The WR Lifeback Studios, Mark Simon.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Ron in Florida. Ron,
- 15:57Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Now?
- 16:00Speaker 2: A year in Florida. You deal with one hundred degree
- 16:02Speaker 2: heat all the time. How do we get through this?
- 16:04Speaker 7: Oh it's great, it's only going to be eighty eight
- 16:07Speaker 7: this week.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Oh okay, cold spell? All right? What you want to say?
- 16:13Speaker 7: Make a comment about these democrats like Hochel. We're trying
- 16:17Speaker 7: to align themselves with the socialists and running scared. And
- 16:21Speaker 7: Kennedy's sixty one addressed everybody who remembers the line about
- 16:25Speaker 7: a snot what your country can do it for you.
- 16:28Speaker 7: But he also had a line those who foolishly saw
- 16:31Speaker 7: power by riding the back of the tiger ended up inside.
- 16:35Speaker 7: And I think that discuss people.
- 16:38Speaker 2: To a te Yeah, no, that's Hochel. Definitely she good.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin column this weekend about Hochel foolishly thinking she
- 16:46Speaker 2: could ever satisfy the Mom Donnie crowd. They'll eat her
- 16:49Speaker 2: alive at some point, which is good. Bruce Blakeman should
- 16:52Speaker 2: be the next governor of New York. Got to see
- 16:56Speaker 2: that happen. Go to blakemanfronew York dot com. Donate help
- 17:00Speaker 2: to Blakemanfromnewyork dot com. Let's go to uh Mara in Nevada. Mara,
- 17:05Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 17:07Speaker 8: Mark? Vincent told me to call. It's been a year
- 17:11Speaker 8: since we were Patsy's having lunch and you came in.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Vincent and Maara met at Patsy's the Great restaurant,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and I stopped.
- 17:19Speaker 8: No, not only that, I met you and I hugged you.
- 17:21Speaker 9: Mark.
- 17:22Speaker 8: You know, I'm almost an antique.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah, not quite, but no.
- 17:26Speaker 8: No, I'm in ninety six and I've been listening to you.
- 17:30Speaker 8: Were you happy to meet me?
- 17:32Speaker 2: I was the thrill of my life. I couldn't believe.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I thought so now, But from that day on, you
- 17:38Speaker 2: and Vincent became close friends.
- 17:39Speaker 8: You called Oh yeah, even before that, you introduced us
- 17:42Speaker 8: that we took every week he calls me aunt Mara.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I love your Aunt Marra. All right, Mara? And how
- 17:49Speaker 2: hot is it? It gets to one hundred out there, and.
- 17:51Speaker 8: You want to know, it's sixty six out of you.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but it gets to one hundred out there? How
- 17:55Speaker 2: do you get through that?
- 17:55Speaker 8: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, but we oh yeah, trying
- 17:58Speaker 8: to tell but we don't have humidity, honey, that's the thing.
- 18:02Speaker 10: We don't stop with that.
- 18:03Speaker 2: They always tell you, oh, there's no humidity, you know what.
- 18:05Speaker 8: Horrible? No, no, no, I'm not lying to you.
- 18:09Speaker 2: There's no humidity in my oven either, but.
- 18:10Speaker 8: It's still for I know you can't stand outside. No,
- 18:13Speaker 8: I'd be lying to you if I tell you can't.
- 18:15Speaker 2: All right, Mara, Well, good call, Thanks for calling. Let's
- 18:18Speaker 2: go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing.
- 18:22Speaker 11: Good morning, Mark, And you're right about the heat down
- 18:26Speaker 11: here and what you're going to be enduring this weekend.
- 18:29Speaker 11: The one thing you won't have to endure is the
- 18:30Speaker 11: little power outages I get every couple of days down
- 18:34Speaker 11: here because they can't seem to get the lights to
- 18:37Speaker 11: stay on.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Well, don't chinkit, don't chinxit here.
- 18:40Speaker 9: Well, it happened last night.
- 18:42Speaker 11: I had to get up early for cataract surgery this morning,
- 18:44Speaker 11: and the lights are blinking in the middle of the night.
- 18:47Speaker 9: Anyway, I wanted.
- 18:49Speaker 12: To say that, you know they're gonna you know, it's
- 18:51Speaker 12: not the Democrat Republicans who are going to make mom
- 18:54Speaker 12: Donnie the face of the party. It's the Democrats because
- 18:57Speaker 12: they want him to be the super radical so they
- 18:59Speaker 12: can make AOC seemed moderate insane. They did the same
- 19:03Speaker 12: thing with Biden.
- 19:04Speaker 9: And then she'll get in and she'll be a communist just.
- 19:08Speaker 13: Like the best of them.
- 19:09Speaker 2: That could be. That could it's a strategy that's not
- 19:13Speaker 2: a bad strategy, I mean for them. But all right,
- 19:17Speaker 2: well thanks for that. You know the problem with AOC
- 19:20Speaker 2: problem number one, she doesn't know anything. She knows nothing
- 19:23Speaker 2: about anything. Remember she went to Davos, the big World
- 19:25Speaker 2: Economic Forum, and went to speak there and didn't know
- 19:29Speaker 2: a damn thing about anything with economicists and know nothing,
- 19:32Speaker 2: didn't know anything about foreign policy. You'd think if she
- 19:35Speaker 2: was going there she would have boned up on it studying.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I mean, it's like a twelve hour plane ride. You
- 19:40Speaker 2: get at least study a little. But nope, doesn't know anything.
- 19:44Speaker 2: But and that was Kamala Harris's problem. But but you
- 19:48Speaker 2: know a lot of these democrats don't care. They just
- 19:51Speaker 2: see a d and they start voting. Let's go to
- 19:53Speaker 2: Rich and Myrtle beach. Rich, how you doing, hey?
- 19:56Speaker 9: Thanks Mark hot Hot It was one hundred and four.
- 19:58Speaker 9: It felt like one hundred and four down here, and
- 20:00Speaker 9: some of it will be like that almost every day
- 20:02Speaker 9: for the rest of the summer. Now, so.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Tell us how to get through it. What do you do?
- 20:07Speaker 7: Well?
- 20:08Speaker 9: What you want to sit by the pool and jump
- 20:09Speaker 9: in the pool. And you know thing, if you go
- 20:11Speaker 9: to the beach down here, as long as you're have
- 20:13Speaker 9: a breeze on the beach, it's not too bad. But
- 20:15Speaker 9: if the breeze is light or nonexistent by eleven o'clock,
- 20:19Speaker 9: you have to get off the beach and come home
- 20:20Speaker 9: and sit in there conditioning or jumping it out of
- 20:22Speaker 9: the pool. You gotta you know, drink, you know, stay hidrache,
- 20:26Speaker 9: just like they always say. But it's just it is
- 20:28Speaker 9: what it is. And the funny thing is is when
- 20:30Speaker 9: I was living a Long Island, the hottest part of
- 20:31Speaker 9: the day is like two three o'clock in the afternoon.
- 20:34Speaker 9: Down here, the hottest part of the day is five
- 20:35Speaker 9: and six o'clock in You have to it's like never
- 20:37Speaker 9: ending down here. And the humidity is like light years
- 20:40Speaker 9: ahead of what it is even living on Long Island,
- 20:43Speaker 9: living on the ocean, like I did, humidity down here.
- 20:45Speaker 9: It took me years to get used to it. In
- 20:47Speaker 9: the first couple of years I was here, I couldn't
- 20:48Speaker 9: even believe. It was like walking through soup all the time.
- 20:51Speaker 2: You know, Well, remember that if you're thinking of moving
- 20:53Speaker 2: to North Carolina or Florida, I just remember that. All right,
- 20:56Speaker 2: thanks for calling. Let's go to Ernie speaking Long Island
- 21:00Speaker 2: in Northport, Ernie. How you doing.
- 21:03Speaker 9: Good, Good morning Mark, Chuck Schumer.
- 21:06Speaker 10: I mean, this guy amazes me.
- 21:07Speaker 9: You know, he's got a problem with the communists in
- 21:11Speaker 9: the state.
- 21:11Speaker 12: You think he would get out in front of this,
- 21:13Speaker 12: But this guy's got no backbone.
- 21:15Speaker 9: You think he would defend himself.
- 21:16Speaker 2: He's gonna get primary And the.
- 21:18Speaker 9: Other thing, I think what you said about him, he
- 21:20Speaker 9: takes his compliments.
- 21:21Speaker 10: I mean, this guy is I can't believe.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a pathetic, cheap hustling politician. And he looked
- 21:28Speaker 2: so ridiculous in that parade with this old microphone from
- 21:33Speaker 2: highway patrol that he's talking into. And that shirt is
- 21:36Speaker 2: like you know what Lalo Salamanca wore in the Breaking
- 21:40Speaker 2: bad that summer shirt and just looked ridiculous. Let me
- 21:44Speaker 2: find it again. The crowd when they saw Schumer, this
- 21:47Speaker 2: was the reaction and this is the pride parade. I
- 21:58Speaker 2: would assume the crowd is most democratic, and how what
- 22:01Speaker 2: they do when they saw Schumer. He's finished. It's the
- 22:07Speaker 2: end of the line for him. Can never run for
- 22:09Speaker 2: anything again. If he well, I was gonna say he
- 22:13Speaker 2: should resign, but then Hokle gets to a point a replacement,
- 22:16Speaker 2: and to pander, she would appoint a left wing socialist.
- 22:19Speaker 2: So let him stay there, let him finish out the term. Hey,
- 22:22Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin is away, but when we come back, we'll
- 22:24Speaker 2: talk to Liz Peak, the brilliant columnist coming up next
- 22:28Speaker 2: on seven to ten WR.
- 22:31Speaker 1: You're listening to the Mark Simone Show on WR.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Well, we're looking for Liz Pig all right, we'll find her.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin's away this week. Let me just look at
- 22:47Speaker 2: the weather because today might be the most normal day
- 22:52Speaker 2: of the week, but there is no there's no chance
- 22:56Speaker 2: of rain. Yeah, it's going to be in the eighties.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Now it's going to get it's going to get rough
- 23:01Speaker 2: this week. So tomorrow it'll be eighty nine. That's not
- 23:06Speaker 2: so bad. Wednesday, you know what. They're actually bringing it
- 23:10Speaker 2: down a little. Wednesday's ninety five, Thursday's ninety nine, Friday
- 23:15Speaker 2: the same they had it over one hundred before it
- 23:18Speaker 2: it's down to ninety nine. Now, fourth of July, which
- 23:21Speaker 2: is a Saturday, it's going to be actually they're bringing
- 23:25Speaker 2: it down a little ninety three. So it's possible this
- 23:28Speaker 2: heat wave comes down just a bit. However, there's a
- 23:31Speaker 2: good chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon, and yeah,
- 23:36Speaker 2: that could could be a problem on the fourth of July.
- 23:40Speaker 2: So you know, NBC was bought by Comcast years ago.
- 23:45Speaker 2: It's part of this big Comcast empire. Brian Roberts the chairman,
- 23:51Speaker 2: and it's an enormous conglomerate. But they've had enough of NBC.
- 23:56Speaker 2: They want to get rid of it. So now you're
- 23:59Speaker 2: going to they'll spin it. Of course, that NBC is
- 24:02Speaker 2: so big that they want to spin it off into
- 24:06Speaker 2: its own public company. That's a way of getting rid
- 24:08Speaker 2: of it because it's a bad business for Comcasts at
- 24:12Speaker 2: the time, way back when ooh to own NBC was
- 24:16Speaker 2: a big deal. You remember when ge was going to
- 24:19Speaker 2: sell NBC. People were all over the place, the billionaires
- 24:23Speaker 2: of the world, the big companies bidding trying to buy NBC.
- 24:28Speaker 2: What a big thing that would be to own the
- 24:30Speaker 2: NBCTV network. Well, now Comcast has had it for years,
- 24:34Speaker 2: they'd like to get it the hell off their books.
- 24:36Speaker 2: It's a it's a dying business. Nobody watches network TV anymore.
- 24:41Speaker 2: All in network television is twenty five million people. The
- 24:46Speaker 2: three networks. That's all they get. Twenty five million, AM
- 24:50Speaker 2: radio get sixty three million. AMFM gets one hundred and
- 24:54Speaker 2: fifty nine million. So for the networks they have twenty
- 24:57Speaker 2: five million, and NBC's only got about a third of that.
- 25:00Speaker 2: It's a business that's not good, you know. Like here
- 25:05Speaker 2: in the Bill, mar gets the Mark Twain Award. That's
- 25:07Speaker 2: a big TV special. It's on Netflix this year. It's
- 25:12Speaker 2: not on the networks. It's not on CBS, it's not
- 25:14Speaker 2: on NBC. It's going to be on Netflix. So it
- 25:17Speaker 2: makes more sense to own something like Netflix. So Comcasts
- 25:20Speaker 2: needs to get rid of NBC. They're separating it into
- 25:23Speaker 2: a different company. They'll make an IPO out of it.
- 25:27Speaker 2: They'll spin it off and they'll sell stock in it
- 25:32Speaker 2: at least get some money for dumping it. They can't
- 25:34Speaker 2: just out now sell it. Comcasts will continue to own
- 25:37Speaker 2: nineteen percent of the stock, but I'll gradually dump that
- 25:42Speaker 2: stock and be done with NBC. They got rid of
- 25:45Speaker 2: MSNBC last year. They kicked them basically out of the
- 25:48Speaker 2: company MSNBC. That's why they had to change the name
- 25:52Speaker 2: to ms Now it is now a separate company. It's
- 25:55Speaker 2: a little company in fact, they were thrown out of
- 25:58Speaker 2: the Comcast Building and Rockefeller Center. They now operate out
- 26:03Speaker 2: of some little studios in Times Square. They're looking for
- 26:07Speaker 2: space in New Jersey. And you remember when you used
- 26:11Speaker 2: to watch MSNBC, when they'd cover the news, actual news,
- 26:15Speaker 2: they'd cut to the big correspondence all over the world,
- 26:18Speaker 2: the NBC News correspondence. Now they don't have that resource anymore,
- 26:23Speaker 2: so they always cut to some half assed stringer that
- 26:26Speaker 2: they got somewhere. And that's about it. The Clive Davis
- 26:30Speaker 2: funeral is taking place as we speak, Central Synagogue, Bruce Springsteen,
- 26:37Speaker 2: A lot of artists are there, some expected to perform.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Now you know, of course, about George Soros, the crazy
- 26:46Speaker 2: kookie George Soros. He is spending a ton of money
- 26:50Speaker 2: on the midterms, a massive amount already. It's already spent
- 26:55Speaker 2: one hundred and three million already and that number could
- 27:01Speaker 2: double by the time the midterms come around. This will
- 27:04Speaker 2: be a new record for Soros. The last record was
- 27:09Speaker 2: four years ago he spent one hundred and twenty eight
- 27:12Speaker 2: million on the midterms. This one guy one hundred and
- 27:15Speaker 2: twenty eight million, so figure he goes to two hundred
- 27:18Speaker 2: million this year. He's already spent one hundred and three
- 27:20Speaker 2: million on the midterms. He runs it through these packs
- 27:24Speaker 2: of his and distributes it to a democratic and socialists
- 27:28Speaker 2: and crazy causes. Srous is pretty old, he's old and feeble,
- 27:32Speaker 2: and the son really runs this. This is Alex Soros,
- 27:36Speaker 2: who's forty. The son is running most of this, So
- 27:40Speaker 2: maybe the son is trying to deliberately break the father's record.
- 27:43Speaker 2: But these guys financing all of this crap. I know
- 27:47Speaker 2: it's bad for America. It hurts America, but that's what
- 27:49Speaker 2: these guys want because they know how to profit off that.
- 27:53Speaker 2: The other sorrows. The competitor, who may even be bigger
- 27:57Speaker 2: is a guy named Neville Roy Singham. He operates out
- 28:01Speaker 2: of China. He's a Soros but he moved to China
- 28:04Speaker 2: and operates out of Shanghai and he's protected by the
- 28:08Speaker 2: Chinese government and he's financed by them as well. But
- 28:12Speaker 2: we'll get back to that because the Justice Department is
- 28:14Speaker 2: about to go after him. But we found Liz Peak. Well,
- 28:16Speaker 2: Liz Peak, how you doing, Yepe? We don't hear uh,
- 28:22Speaker 2: Liz Peak? Are you there? Let me push it in here,
- 28:27Speaker 2: Liz Peak. Do we have you now you have me.
- 28:30Speaker 10: I'm so sorry to be joining.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm good. So, hey, we're talking about all
- 28:36Speaker 2: these crazy socialists that got elected. So the people analyzing
- 28:41Speaker 2: this say it had nothing to do with affordability. These
- 28:43Speaker 2: young crazy voters, they're really voting anti Israel. They're voting
- 28:47Speaker 2: because they hate Trump so much and they think the
- 28:49Speaker 2: Old Guard wasn't effective against Trump. What do you think.
- 28:53Speaker 10: I think a lot of truth in that.
- 28:54Speaker 6: And actually yesterday I was thinking, you know, when Trump
- 28:57Speaker 6: is out of it, and if there is peace in
- 29:01Speaker 6: the Middle East and Israel and Palestinians come to some
- 29:07Speaker 6: sort of Israel and Lebanon, do just sort of mar
- 29:10Speaker 6: think all this goes away.
- 29:11Speaker 10: I mean, it's just like and remember that all these.
- 29:15Speaker 6: As groups cycle through causes, right, it's Black Lives Matter,
- 29:19Speaker 6: and then the next thing, you know, it's free Palestine.
- 29:22Speaker 6: I mean, I don't think I don't think they're wetted
- 29:24Speaker 6: to these causes. And I do think yet that that
- 29:28Speaker 6: is the anti Israel thing is the most motivating of
- 29:33Speaker 6: all these issues that are out there. Certainly more than
- 29:36Speaker 6: your rent have going going up five percent, right, So
- 29:40Speaker 6: when you when you know, back before Mamdani was elected.
- 29:45Speaker 6: We did a forum on getting Republican voters out. You know,
- 29:49Speaker 6: could Republicans have any kind of voice in this election?
- 29:52Speaker 6: The esport at the end of there was no, But
- 29:55Speaker 6: when there was a young activist guy who was on
- 29:58Speaker 6: a panel that I spoke on, and he said, as
- 30:01Speaker 6: he talked to people in the street, the number one
- 30:04Speaker 6: thing for young old Jews, non Jews that drove them
- 30:08Speaker 6: to vote for mom Donni was the Israel question. And
- 30:12Speaker 6: I thought that was really pretty stunning, And obviously it's
- 30:15Speaker 6: had a huge impact on the Jewish vote. Jews seventy
- 30:19Speaker 6: percent historically have voted for Democrats.
- 30:23Speaker 10: Now they are really angry.
- 30:26Speaker 6: About this shift to the anti Israel Democratic Party, but
- 30:32Speaker 6: there's a good forty percent of them young people who
- 30:35Speaker 6: voted for Mamdani, So it's really scrambled traditional voting blocks.
- 30:42Speaker 6: The only thing I'd say that makes me somewhat hopeful.
- 30:44Speaker 6: I don't know if you heard Raphael Warnock yesterday on CNN,
- 30:49Speaker 6: but he basically, after all, representing Georgia, which is a
- 30:53Speaker 6: swing state and has a lot of conservative black voters,
- 30:57Speaker 6: he was kind of like, well, you know, I don't
- 30:59Speaker 6: think we have to I don't agree country without borders
- 31:04Speaker 6: is not a country. A city without police is not safe,
- 31:08Speaker 6: et cetera. So I do think you've got some solid
- 31:14Speaker 6: pushback from, for example, conservative blacks, and I think you're
- 31:18Speaker 6: going to get more pushback from the Jewish population.
- 31:21Speaker 10: We just haven't seen it yet.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't go a minute left. But whatever, it's
- 31:26Speaker 2: caused the what normally would have been the mainstream guys
- 31:28Speaker 2: like Schumer or Tink Pritzker. You wrote about Pritzker. It's
- 31:32Speaker 2: causing these people to act like wacos. Yeah, don't they
- 31:36Speaker 2: realize they're scared.
- 31:38Speaker 10: They're scared.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Schumer, I think is really the most abjectly cowardly of
- 31:44Speaker 6: all the Democrats and leadership positions. Right now, he is
- 31:47Speaker 6: the number one elected Jewish representative. I mean, that's just
- 31:51Speaker 6: a fair way of saying it. And he represents New York.
- 31:54Speaker 6: His problem is that Alexandrio Cosco Cortez, a Democratic Socialist,
- 31:59Speaker 6: has her sites on challenge at Schumer to become, you know,
- 32:05Speaker 6: to replace him in the Senate, and right now and
- 32:08Speaker 6: actually over the last year mark, the polling would suggest
- 32:11Speaker 6: that she has a shot of doing that.
- 32:13Speaker 10: So Schumer is terrified of alienating these young.
- 32:18Speaker 6: Anti Israel voters, and so he has not stood up
- 32:21Speaker 6: when there are overt anti Semitic. Forget anti Israel, the
- 32:26Speaker 6: anti Semitism that's come to light in the Democratic Party
- 32:30Speaker 6: is so offensive, but apparently it no longer offends Chuck Schumer.
- 32:34Speaker 6: I mean, I hope people dump him, frankly, because he's
- 32:38Speaker 6: just turned out to be such an incredible cynical pal,
- 32:42Speaker 6: you know, but shame on him.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Well, hey, we're out of time, but we started late.
- 32:47Speaker 2: We'll have to make.
- 32:48Speaker 10: A pet Yeah, I'm so sorry, totally on me.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Thank you, everybody. Go to lizpeak dot com. You can
- 32:54Speaker 2: read a column and you can read it at The
- 32:55Speaker 2: Hill Foxnews dot com and follow Liz Peak on Twitter.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Very good stuff there, Liz Peak, thanks for being with us.
- 33:02Speaker 10: Hey, Mark, thanks for having me on. Take Care, Take.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Care, Hey, don't forget Buck and Clay Noon today, and
- 33:08Speaker 2: I hope you're listening now every night nine to midnight,
- 33:10Speaker 2: Jimmy Fail a great show every night here on seven
- 33:14Speaker 2: ten wor.
- 33:17Speaker 14: Welcome back to the Mark Simone SHOWR.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Well, Hey, we got a lot to get to in
- 33:25Speaker 2: the next hour. I'm here every day ten to noon,
- 33:29Speaker 2: or you can listen anytime anytime you want, just get
- 33:32Speaker 2: the podcast, and remember there's always a bonus segment on
- 33:35Speaker 2: the podcast, so don't go away. Back after the news
- 33:37Speaker 2: with another hour to go here on seven ten WR, mister.
- 33:42Speaker 14: New York, here's more.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Mark Simone on seven ten WR.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Well, all right, it's not bad today, but a heat
- 33:52Speaker 2: wave is coming, big heat wave. It's going to be
- 33:56Speaker 2: near one hundred degrees Thursday. Well, Wednesday's gonna be pretty bad,
- 33:59Speaker 2: but I see here's the latest Wednesday ninety five, Thursday
- 34:05Speaker 2: ninety nine, Friday ninety eight, Saturday ninety three. It had
- 34:10Speaker 2: been at one hundred but hopefully the heat wave subsiding
- 34:13Speaker 2: a little. It's going to be rough this weekend. Not
- 34:16Speaker 2: the greatest weather, but it'll give you a chance to
- 34:19Speaker 2: see what life is like in Florida for the whole
- 34:21Speaker 2: summer these three days. If you don't like it, you're
- 34:24Speaker 2: not gonna like Florida. Hey, you know the Gilgo Beach murderer,
- 34:28Speaker 2: that big Frankenstein, Rex Schuerman, has been sent to prison.
- 34:35Speaker 2: It's a prison they call Little Siberia because it's the
- 34:39Speaker 2: most unpleasant prison in the state. It's up near the
- 34:42Speaker 2: Canadian border. The weather is unbelievably cold all winter. That's
- 34:49Speaker 2: why they call it Little Siberia. It's the Clinton Correctional Facility,
- 34:53Speaker 2: Dana Mora, New York. Now you might remember this name.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Remember the two guys that escaped, Matt and was it Sweat?
- 35:02Speaker 2: Matt and Sweat. Remember the two guys escaped from this.
- 35:06Speaker 2: One of them was sleeping with the guard, that woman,
- 35:09Speaker 2: and she helped them escape and they got out. Remember
- 35:13Speaker 2: that they were escaped. They have gone for a week
- 35:17Speaker 2: or so, And you remember Andrew Crmo looking ridiculous, putting
- 35:21Speaker 2: on that hunting jacket and that police looking thing and
- 35:26Speaker 2: being out there helping to hunt them down. That's that
- 35:29Speaker 2: same facility. But there's a couple of mass murderers there.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Joel Rifkin is there, the serial killer, the Zodiac killer
- 35:40Speaker 2: is there. So this is where they're sending him. He
- 35:44Speaker 2: will be there for the rest of his life. He'll
- 35:47Speaker 2: die in this prison. So it's the most unpleasant place
- 35:51Speaker 2: they could send him. Perfect he'll just ride away there. Hey,
- 35:57Speaker 2: this Taylor Swift wedding is coming up later this week.
- 36:01Speaker 2: You should be aware of this, even if you don't
- 36:03Speaker 2: care about Taylor Swift, because it's going to tie up
- 36:05Speaker 2: traffic and cause a lot of gridlock all around Madison
- 36:09Speaker 2: Square Garden. You remember when the Knicks game the Knicks
- 36:12Speaker 2: we're playing here, they closed off streets, you know, like
- 36:15Speaker 2: on a two block radius around the garden and it
- 36:18Speaker 2: caused a traffic nightmare. We're gonna have the same thing
- 36:20Speaker 2: again because they're going to close off streets for this
- 36:23Speaker 2: Taylor Swift stuff. Now, apparently it's three nights. It will
- 36:27Speaker 2: start with a rehearsal dinner. This will be one hundred
- 36:31Speaker 2: close family and friends. I think that's Wednesday, and then Thursday,
- 36:37Speaker 2: the actual wedding will take place. But it's a multi
- 36:40Speaker 2: day event. They're expected to have about two thousand people
- 36:44Speaker 2: at Madison Square Garden. It's Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey.
- 36:50Speaker 2: They're both thirty six years old. So it's Thursday and
- 36:54Speaker 2: apparently Friday. For some reason, it's a two day wedding
- 36:59Speaker 2: and there'll be a lot of famous artist there and
- 37:01Speaker 2: many of them are expected to perform. Stevie Nicks is
- 37:04Speaker 2: one of them. She's a big Stevie Nicks fan. So
- 37:07Speaker 2: that'll take place, but it's gonna just snarl up stuff,
- 37:10Speaker 2: especially on Thursday and Friday. She's gonna be a mess. Now,
- 37:15Speaker 2: I hope this is not something. I hope it's not
- 37:17Speaker 2: going to be having all of her weddings here because
- 37:20Speaker 2: this marriage, how long do you give this marriage? Five years?
- 37:24Speaker 2: Five years tops? I think that's it. But hopefully the
- 37:27Speaker 2: next wedding be someplace else. Alvin Bragg, the crazy da
- 37:32Speaker 2: who lets all the criminals go, who's soft on crime,
- 37:36Speaker 2: being accused of a little crime here himself. He's been
- 37:40Speaker 2: attending a lot of major charity galas for free. He's
- 37:45Speaker 2: invited now many of these gallas, like here's one, the
- 37:48Speaker 2: Robin Hood Foundation. You know, it's like ten thousand bucks,
- 37:50Speaker 2: fifteen thousand bucks. People buy tables for one hundred thousand
- 37:54Speaker 2: dollars two hundred and fifty thousand, and he's coming for
- 37:57Speaker 2: free to dozens of these. Well, in his defense, it's
- 38:05Speaker 2: pretty common for the big charity gallas to invite prominent
- 38:09Speaker 2: politicians because it helps sell tickets. If they come to
- 38:11Speaker 2: the gallon and they meet the governor, and they meet
- 38:13Speaker 2: the Senator, and they meet the congressman and a few
- 38:18Speaker 2: movie stars, a few celebrities, you try to sprinkle them
- 38:21Speaker 2: through the crowd, especially in the cocktail party. So it's
- 38:25Speaker 2: not uncommon for politicians to come for free. You don't
- 38:28Speaker 2: sell them a ticket, they come, and so he's really
- 38:32Speaker 2: not doing anything. The only problem with Alvin Bragg. I've
- 38:34Speaker 2: been to a few charity gallows where he's there. And
- 38:38Speaker 2: when you have a senator or a governor or a
- 38:40Speaker 2: mayor and your charity go oh, everybody walks over, especially
- 38:42Speaker 2: to take pictures. They want to take pictures with him,
- 38:45Speaker 2: and it helps your helps your gallup. But with Alvin Bragg,
- 38:48Speaker 2: the couple where he's been there, nobody wants to go
- 38:51Speaker 2: near him. In fact, there was one at the Pierre
- 38:54Speaker 2: Hotel where the photographer comes over, would you like a
- 38:56Speaker 2: picture with Alvin Bragg? Is said, no, that's okay, And
- 39:00Speaker 2: ten minutes later she comes back, would you like a
- 39:03Speaker 2: picture with Alvin Bragg?
- 39:04Speaker 10: No?
- 39:05Speaker 2: Twenty minutes later, can I get you with the Alvin
- 39:08Speaker 2: Bragg for a picture? I said, why do you keep
- 39:10Speaker 2: asking me? And she said, I can't get anybody take
- 39:12Speaker 2: a picture with him, So he is kind of useless
- 39:14Speaker 2: for that. Now New Yorkers who live in market rate apartments,
- 39:22Speaker 2: you know, so some people got excited about Mom Donnie's
- 39:26Speaker 2: no rent increase and this stuff and that stuff and
- 39:29Speaker 2: it sounded great, it's going to be a nightmare. And
- 39:34Speaker 2: also for millions of other people who are paying the
- 39:37Speaker 2: regular market rate. You're going to get stuck with the
- 39:40Speaker 2: bill for this.
- 39:42Speaker 15: Now.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Whenever the socialists try this, no rent increase, no you're
- 39:46Speaker 2: going to regulate this with the landlords. In the end,
- 39:51Speaker 2: it always ends up causing disaster, absolute disaster for the
- 39:57Speaker 2: people in these apartments. They get more run down, conditions
- 40:00Speaker 2: get even worse because most landlords abandon them, and then
- 40:04Speaker 2: if the city has to take them over, they become
- 40:07Speaker 2: real hell holes. I mean, they're just awful the way
- 40:10Speaker 2: they run things. So this is the problem with these socialists.
- 40:13Speaker 2: You know, they always propose these incredibles that sound great,
- 40:17Speaker 2: and then when they do them, it's disaster. Mom, Donnie
- 40:22Speaker 2: and the other socialists using that term again, they say
- 40:25Speaker 2: they want to decommodify housing. Decommodify housing, it's a Marxist term.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Marx use that term all the time. It means take
- 40:34Speaker 2: the value out of it, take the value out of housing,
- 40:37Speaker 2: make it not worth so much. Well, when all that happens,
- 40:39Speaker 2: the conditions get a lot worse. So you're going to
- 40:42Speaker 2: see total disaster in the housing market with mom, Donnie.
- 40:46Speaker 2: But that's what happens. They do this stuff, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 2: and it just becomes a total shambles.
- 40:53Speaker 5: That first year. Boy, you're the most Popular's happening right
- 40:56Speaker 5: now in New York and California. But you'll start living
- 41:01Speaker 5: in Squalor. You'll live in Squalor. There will be no food,
- 41:05Speaker 5: there will be no housing, there will be no military,
- 41:07Speaker 5: there'll be no law in order, there will be no nothing.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yes, sounds good, doesn't it. So again these communists, socialists,
- 41:15Speaker 2: Why are they voting for them? Again? It looks like
- 41:17Speaker 2: it's two reasons, not affordability. The underlying reasons are deep
- 41:22Speaker 2: anti Semitism. They're voting for these anti Semitic candidates. And
- 41:27Speaker 2: the other is Trump hatred. They hate this guy so
- 41:29Speaker 2: much and they feel the old guard, the previous wave
- 41:34Speaker 2: of politicians were totally ineffective trying to stop Trump. They
- 41:37Speaker 2: think these new radicals, well, the else stopped. Well, of
- 41:40Speaker 2: course they won't. Now we're talking before about you got
- 41:43Speaker 2: George Soros and Alex Soros funding all this crap. But
- 41:47Speaker 2: you got this other guy, Neville Roy Singham. He's the Soros,
- 41:51Speaker 2: the other one. He's trying to be the bigger Soros.
- 41:53Speaker 2: He operates out of China, protected by the Chinese government,
- 41:58Speaker 2: financed by the communist Chinese. They love financing this stuff
- 42:02Speaker 2: because it helps hurt America. It just makes America just
- 42:07Speaker 2: decay and crumble with all this socialist crap, So that's
- 42:10Speaker 2: why they finance it. Now Trump's Justice Department is going
- 42:15Speaker 2: after Nevill Roy Singman. They're going to try to indict him,
- 42:18Speaker 2: prosecute him. Again. He's in China, so he's really untouchable.
- 42:23Speaker 2: But he's sending hundreds of millions back into America for
- 42:28Speaker 2: all of his crap, and maybe they can stop the
- 42:32Speaker 2: flow of the money. I guess that's the real purpose here.
- 42:35Speaker 2: He's a Goldman Sacks client, so they went They asked
- 42:39Speaker 2: Goldman Sachs to cooperate. Goldman Sacks says they will cooperate.
- 42:43Speaker 2: They will answer the subpoenas and turnover records. So it's
- 42:47Speaker 2: possible as he funnels all this money back that they
- 42:51Speaker 2: may be able to block it, stop it. Something like that. Hey,
- 42:55Speaker 2: the price of oil, it came up a little, just
- 42:57Speaker 2: ticked up slightly. It was down to see eight dollars
- 43:00Speaker 2: sixty nine dollars over the weekend. With all the new
- 43:05Speaker 2: resumed fighting in Iran. Well it's only gone up to
- 43:08Speaker 2: seventy dollars, which is pretty low. That's a low oil price,
- 43:12Speaker 2: seventy a barrel, it's close to what it was pre war.
- 43:16Speaker 2: So these these are good indicators that nobody's panicking. Market
- 43:20Speaker 2: not panicking over this. Seventy dollars of barrel is pretty good.
- 43:25Speaker 2: That mean gas averaging now about three point eighty. Now,
- 43:29Speaker 2: first the price of oil drops and then the price
- 43:33Speaker 2: at the pumps, well, that takes a couple of weeks.
- 43:35Speaker 2: That's that's always lagging. So expect that to come down
- 43:39Speaker 2: to three point fifty pretty soon and then start heading lower.
- 43:42Speaker 2: So that's that's good news. AOC all over the plate.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Now you've got to remember Mom Donnie. On the Sunday shows,
- 43:52Speaker 2: Mom Donnie, they talk about him, is the face of
- 43:54Speaker 2: the the party. You're now the face of the crazy Democrats.
- 43:59Speaker 2: And if a C is watching, I assume she might
- 44:01Speaker 2: watch those Sunday shows. And if she hears Jonathan Carl.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Say, Republicans are going to make you the poster child
- 44:08Speaker 3: for the Democratic Party.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Ooh, Now, AOC is not gonna like that. She wants
- 44:14Speaker 2: to run. Of course, there's a big talk of her
- 44:16Speaker 2: for twenty twenty eight. Now, remember Donnie was not born here,
- 44:20Speaker 2: so he can ever run for president, so that helps her.
- 44:23Speaker 2: But she can't be too happy about you know, she
- 44:25Speaker 2: was the poster child of all this. Now this guy's
- 44:28Speaker 2: taken over, so you may see a little conflict there
- 44:31Speaker 2: between the two of them. AOC trying to sound off.
- 44:34Speaker 2: She yelled and screamed this weekend about major tech companies.
- 44:40Speaker 2: She's putting them on notice about their looming price increases.
- 44:45Speaker 2: They're far too big, AOC said, she's putting Apple on notice.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I'm sure they're trembling there in Silicon Valley. She says,
- 45:00Speaker 2: companies like Apple, why they think they are governments and
- 45:05Speaker 2: we have to totally stop them. They're like governments with
- 45:09Speaker 2: totally unchecked powers. She's talking about the price increase. Now
- 45:12Speaker 2: she's got an IQ about maybe eighty doesn't know anything
- 45:17Speaker 2: about business, finance or anything. Because of AI. The chips,
- 45:24Speaker 2: the memory chips, the things that are vital to make
- 45:26Speaker 2: computers and phones. Because of AI, it uses so many
- 45:32Speaker 2: chips that the major AI companies are buying up all
- 45:35Speaker 2: the chips, so it makes them harder and harder to get.
- 45:39Speaker 2: These AI companies have become bigger than Apple, bigger than anything.
- 45:43Speaker 2: AI is such a big business it's just gobbling up
- 45:45Speaker 2: the chip supply. So now it used to be Apple
- 45:49Speaker 2: was so big, so powerful, they could always be first
- 45:51Speaker 2: in line. They could get the chips first, they could
- 45:54Speaker 2: get them at a good price. Well that's not the
- 45:56Speaker 2: case anymore. They're tiny now compared to these AI companies.
- 46:00Speaker 2: So Apple's having trouble with the supply chain getting these chips.
- 46:03Speaker 2: They're having to pay more to get them, and as
- 46:06Speaker 2: a result, they've announced all Apple products will have a
- 46:09Speaker 2: price increase. For a laptop or a tablet, it's going
- 46:13Speaker 2: to be an extra hundred two hundred, they think they
- 46:16Speaker 2: they think when the phones come out they'll be able
- 46:18Speaker 2: to maintain the same price on the phones, but the computers, desktops, laptops, tablets,
- 46:24Speaker 2: there will be a price increase. So this is what
- 46:26Speaker 2: she's yelling and screaming about. But she thinks they just
- 46:28Speaker 2: raised the price just for the hell of it. She said,
- 46:32Speaker 2: we need to break up these companies. You imagine breaking
- 46:35Speaker 2: up Apple. You know what would happen if you broke
- 46:39Speaker 2: up Apple? You wouldn't get the same quality phone computer. Wait,
- 46:44Speaker 2: are your voters find now they're gonna have trouble getting
- 46:46Speaker 2: the phone. You see how much they love you. Hey,
- 46:49Speaker 2: Joe Biden was speaking this weekend at the Live Casino
- 46:55Speaker 2: and Hotel Hanover, Maryland. What was the event here?
- 47:01Speaker 13: Uh?
- 47:02Speaker 2: Oh, it's the well. It was the first time he's
- 47:04Speaker 2: been seen since the Obama Library opened. So he made
- 47:08Speaker 2: a speech that was basically incoherent. When it was done,
- 47:13Speaker 2: he didn't know where to go. He turned to this side,
- 47:16Speaker 2: then he turned to that side, then he looked in
- 47:18Speaker 2: the back, then he pointed in two different directions, and
- 47:23Speaker 2: then somebody must have yelled at him or waved to him.
- 47:26Speaker 2: He finally figured out how to get off the stage,
- 47:30Speaker 2: how to walk off, But people in the audience were stunned.
- 47:33Speaker 2: They never saw anybody look so confused, bewildered, And when
- 47:36Speaker 2: he was totally lost up there on the stage, he
- 47:39Speaker 2: he actually yelled on stage, where's my granddaughter? So apparently
- 47:45Speaker 2: she was supposed to come lead him off the stage.
- 47:47Speaker 2: She's like the seeing eye dog for him. It was
- 47:51Speaker 2: just horrifying to the crowd, and they watched it. You know.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Other times, the First Lady Jill by former First Lady
- 47:58Speaker 2: Thank God, had to go him and lead him. So
- 48:02Speaker 2: he's an absolute mess. The reflecting pool boy. They love
- 48:06Speaker 2: writing articles about this reflecting pool, about the algae, about this. Now,
- 48:12Speaker 2: Trump spent about twelve million. They're attacking him like crazy
- 48:15Speaker 2: because after twelve million, there's algae in there. If you
- 48:19Speaker 2: check my Twitter, I put up this article from years
- 48:22Speaker 2: ago when Obama was present, he spent thirty five millions.
- 48:26Speaker 2: He spent three times as much, and it's an article
- 48:29Speaker 2: from NBC News about how the whole thing is No,
- 48:32Speaker 2: it doesn't reflect anymore and it's covered with algae, which
- 48:35Speaker 2: is much worse than the situation now. But that's the
- 48:39Speaker 2: hypocrisy and the double standard Democrats are famous for. We'll
- 48:44Speaker 2: take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two one
- 48:47Speaker 2: zero seven ten. Is the number eight hundred three to
- 48:50Speaker 2: two one zero seven.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Ten, mars on seven ten wr.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Well, let's ty can calls eight hundred three two one
- 49:04Speaker 2: zero seven ten. That's a number eight hundred three to
- 49:08Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten. Let's go to doctor Bob
- 49:11Speaker 2: in Long Island. Doctor Bob, how are you doing okay? Mark?
- 49:15Speaker 13: Good good? Thanks you very much. Getting ready for the
- 49:18Speaker 13: well the tly weekend.
- 49:19Speaker 9: Can't wait.
- 49:21Speaker 2: It's gonna be one hundred degrees real feel one hundred
- 49:23Speaker 2: and ten.
- 49:25Speaker 13: I just got to stay in the north. I guess
- 49:27Speaker 13: make sure we got plenty of activistion available mark with
- 49:30Speaker 13: this transition from capitalism towards socialism communism, especially in New
- 49:37Speaker 13: York City. I don't know if you remember the Million
- 49:40Speaker 13: Dollar Movie used to be on Channel nine. They used
- 49:42Speaker 13: to play Gone with the Wind for the whole week
- 49:44Speaker 13: in a row. Why not bring back the movie Doctor
- 49:47Speaker 13: Shivago where it really shows what happened in Russia going
- 49:53Speaker 13: to Soviet Union and the transition. That movie is very
- 49:57Speaker 13: vivid and it shows exactly how Moscow changed with the revolution.
- 50:02Speaker 13: I think that would be very enlightening. But to see that, I.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Don't think it will work. Because it's a spectacular movie,
- 50:09Speaker 2: cost of fortune visually, cinematography unbelievable. But it's like four hours.
- 50:15Speaker 2: It's like four hours long. It's twenty twenty six. Nobody
- 50:18Speaker 2: has an attention span long enough to watch that movie anymore.
- 50:21Speaker 2: It's a fair happened a machine.
- 50:23Speaker 13: You know, you watch it home for it.
- 50:27Speaker 2: It's a great everybody should go watch it. That's a
- 50:29Speaker 2: good point. But the people that need to see at.
- 50:32Speaker 13: The money experience. It's a tshi experience.
- 50:35Speaker 9: Yeah, I know, but again, what's the store.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Will love it? But the mom Donnie voters, the twenty somethings,
- 50:42Speaker 2: they have an attention span of thirty seconds. That's why
- 50:45Speaker 2: they like TikTok. You'd have to make a TikTok version
- 50:48Speaker 2: of Doctor Shivago to get through to them.
- 50:51Speaker 13: But they're they're very minority. They're a minority his followers.
- 50:54Speaker 9: They're really a small portion of the population.
- 50:56Speaker 2: Well, that's who you're trying to convert. They're the voters
- 50:59Speaker 2: voting for No, you don't need them.
- 51:01Speaker 13: You need people to get to the polls to prevent
- 51:04Speaker 13: the transition.
- 51:05Speaker 15: That's the thing.
- 51:06Speaker 13: All right, here's the lesson.
- 51:09Speaker 2: All right, doctor Bobs, not a bad idea, Thanks for calling.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Uh it was the hell of a movie. Doctor Jevago
- 51:16Speaker 2: was what that was? The guy's name, Omar Sharif, remember
- 51:20Speaker 2: him with the mustache. But again, twenty something watching TikTok
- 51:26Speaker 2: videos of Dot cake is they're not going to sit
- 51:29Speaker 2: through four hours of Omar Sharif on Doctor Jovago. Let's
- 51:34Speaker 2: go to Norman in Long Island. Norman, how you doing Hi?
- 51:38Speaker 9: Hi? Question for you Mark? Do you think that the
- 51:41Speaker 9: conservative radio and conservative TV stations are actually helping the
- 51:46Speaker 9: communists by always showing their campaigns but never showing the
- 51:49Speaker 9: campaigns of the people that are running against They're sucking
- 51:53Speaker 9: up all the oxygen. These communists with anybody all.
- 51:58Speaker 2: The time, anybody voting from Donnie or any of those.
- 52:01Speaker 2: They're not watching conservative anything, They're not watching TV, they're
- 52:04Speaker 2: not watching radio.
- 52:05Speaker 9: Yeah, but they're getting name recognition by showing their campaigns.
- 52:09Speaker 9: But we don't even know who's running against them because
- 52:12Speaker 9: they don't show much of that the.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but again against people under thirty have no contact
- 52:18Speaker 2: with conservative radio or TV. They don't see it never.
- 52:23Speaker 9: Yeah, but you know, we should really show more of
- 52:25Speaker 9: the campaigns of the people running against these guys, well,
- 52:30Speaker 9: because they're getting free advertising.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the you know, the conservative candidates. Bruce Blakeman
- 52:35Speaker 2: certainly is that scene everywhere he was. He was even
- 52:37Speaker 2: on CNN the other day with Caitlin Collins. I give
- 52:41Speaker 2: him credit. He's a brave guy with that crazy Caitlin Collins.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 52:48Speaker 15: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mara, Good call Mark. For
- 52:51Speaker 15: the same reasons that the city helped cause the housing
- 52:57Speaker 15: crisis and the destruction that was the South Bronx in
- 53:01Speaker 15: the late sixties in the early seventies because all everything
- 53:06Speaker 15: rented before them was rent controlled and the landlords couldn't
- 53:11Speaker 15: keep up with the upgrades, the upgrading and plumbing, the
- 53:15Speaker 15: upgrading in the electricity. The same thing is going to
- 53:18Speaker 15: start to happen because Mondami's cronies on the rent guideline
- 53:23Speaker 15: board didn't allow a one or the first time a
- 53:27Speaker 15: two year increase. Back then, Mark the landlords went the
- 53:32Speaker 15: city did that in the late sixties early seventies. You
- 53:37Speaker 15: had up to seven years you could be in arrears
- 53:42Speaker 15: on your property taxes. So the landlords they could not
- 53:46Speaker 15: turn over anything, so they ran the properties into the ground,
- 53:50Speaker 15: collected rents and didn't pay out the property taxes in
- 53:54Speaker 15: the water. Now they moved up to three years. Marked
- 53:59Speaker 15: people of pulling their buildings off the market. They want
- 54:03Speaker 15: to have nothing to do with this Mark. I get
- 54:07Speaker 15: off it. Rent controlled, rent stabilized buildings every day. And
- 54:13Speaker 15: I said to you last week, why do I want
- 54:16Speaker 15: to be partners with the City of New York. I
- 54:19Speaker 15: hope a big real estate organization like you know the
- 54:23Speaker 15: big ones. I hope they bring this case to court
- 54:26Speaker 15: because this has been the court Vincent.
- 54:29Speaker 2: We only got like a minute. Let me ask you
- 54:30Speaker 2: a question. You're a landlord your own apartment buildings. Yeah,
- 54:32Speaker 2: what if they did I know, but what if they
- 54:35Speaker 2: did a thing where they just motivated you guys? Like
- 54:37Speaker 2: I said, any improvements you make, you can deduct from
- 54:39Speaker 2: your property text will lower your property tax if you
- 54:42Speaker 2: make improvements. Would that way?
- 54:43Speaker 15: Yeah? Yeah, especially since now a lot of the buildings
- 54:48Speaker 15: they want to have them wired internally so that they're
- 54:52Speaker 15: smart buildings. Put the latest Yeah, Mark, that's one hundred
- 54:56Speaker 15: percent on the money. And what they also got to
- 55:00Speaker 15: do is make housing court fair for the landlords. You
- 55:05Speaker 15: have these bombs and I've experienced it where they're not
- 55:09Speaker 15: paying you rent for two years. They go to court,
- 55:12Speaker 15: they get a liberal judge, a liberal judge gives them
- 55:14Speaker 15: an extension, an extension and extension. The ACLU is paying
- 55:20Speaker 15: for the derelic tenants legal fees. Meanwhile the landlord is
- 55:26Speaker 15: out a quarter of a million dollars and still didn't
- 55:28Speaker 15: get a verdict on their properties.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's never gonna happen. But it's a good idea.
- 55:35Speaker 2: But thanks for calling. Great call, Vincent. Hey, when we
- 55:38Speaker 2: come back, the great New York Post columnist Steve Cuzo.
- 55:41Speaker 2: He's the expert on real estate in New York, on
- 55:44Speaker 2: restaurants in New York. But we'll talk to him about
- 55:46Speaker 2: how's New York doing, how's the apartment market, the housing market,
- 55:50Speaker 2: are people moving in or moving out? What are the
- 55:52Speaker 2: real numbers? And we'll get to all the latest from
- 55:54Speaker 2: him next on seven to ten WR.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Loonshown Live from the w R Life Back studio.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Well, Steve Cuso, the great column listen for the New
- 56:08Speaker 2: York Post, nobody better on real estate, on restaurants and
- 56:11Speaker 2: what's going on in New York. You can read all
- 56:13Speaker 2: of his columns. They're all up on the New York
- 56:14Speaker 2: Post website. Steve Cuzo, how you doing?
- 56:18Speaker 9: Hey?
- 56:18Speaker 2: Good morning Mark, Hey, Now tell us the truth. Everybody
- 56:21Speaker 2: will tell you New York is dying. Nothing but empty
- 56:24Speaker 2: storefronts everywhere. What is the real deal?
- 56:27Speaker 16: The real deal is that we ain't dying, at least
- 56:30Speaker 16: not yet. As long as I look. In New York.
- 56:36Speaker 16: We survived nine to eleven, survived the Wall Street crash,
- 56:39Speaker 16: We survived COVID, We survived all these things. Question is
- 56:43Speaker 16: whether we can survive mayor Mom, Donnie your new pal
- 56:47Speaker 16: there I see from the Yeah, Mark, anyway, I'm glad
- 56:52Speaker 16: to know he has a sense of humor.
- 56:54Speaker 2: He does.
- 56:54Speaker 16: But anyway, so everything, you know, I happen to live
- 56:59Speaker 16: on the Upper east Side. Privilege, I get it, okay,
- 57:03Speaker 16: but not all of the Upper east Side is rich
- 57:05Speaker 16: wherever I go, and not only there, but through the village.
- 57:09Speaker 16: I was in Brooklyn on the Saturday Lavonia Avenue and
- 57:13Speaker 16: it's remarkable for a city. If we did follow the media,
- 57:17Speaker 16: you know, we're in terrible crisis. There are all these strains,
- 57:20Speaker 16: there's all this underlying anguish and everything. And yet guess what,
- 57:24Speaker 16: it's amazing how peaceful everything is. Nobody's getting knifed or stabbed.
- 57:31Speaker 16: Businesses are booming for the most part, and you know,
- 57:36Speaker 16: it's it's great. And you know, if you look at
- 57:39Speaker 16: look at Brian Park, one of the great places in
- 57:41Speaker 16: the city and one of the great parts in the
- 57:43Speaker 16: world urban parks in the world. It's so popular that
- 57:47Speaker 16: you've got two different restaurant companies fighting over the restaurant.
- 57:52Speaker 16: You know, it's called the Brian Park Grill. And this
- 57:55Speaker 16: is one of the strangest stories I've ever covered because
- 57:59Speaker 16: there's a company there called Arc Restaurants. They've run the
- 58:01Speaker 16: Brian Park Grill for thirty years. Their lease was up
- 58:05Speaker 16: last year. Their landlord, which is the Bryant Park Corporation,
- 58:09Speaker 16: declined to renew their lease. They want to bring a
- 58:11Speaker 16: new operator. The new operator will probably be Jean George
- 58:16Speaker 16: or Vanka Richton. And there are many, many complications to
- 58:21Speaker 16: this whole story. We have limited time, so I'm not
- 58:23Speaker 16: going to get into them. But basically, Brian Park Grill
- 58:27Speaker 16: is still there without a lease. Bryan Park Corporation got
- 58:32Speaker 16: a court order allowing them to begin eviction proceedings. That's
- 58:38Speaker 16: going to take a long time. And meanwhile, Jean George,
- 58:42Speaker 16: one of the great chefs in the world and his
- 58:45Speaker 16: company would love to be there. And it typifies the
- 58:52Speaker 16: energy in the restaurant scene, and not only restaurants scenes,
- 58:56Speaker 16: but in the public realm. You know, Brian Hawk is
- 59:00Speaker 16: a great landmark at a great location, and right now
- 59:04Speaker 16: it's one of the best places in the world to
- 59:06Speaker 16: be a couple of days from now, it's going to
- 59:08Speaker 16: be one hundred degrees so maybe a little less desirable,
- 59:12Speaker 16: but that affects everyone and everywhere. So it's a great
- 59:16Speaker 16: time to.
- 59:17Speaker 9: Be in New Yorker.
- 59:17Speaker 16: No matter what anybody says.
- 59:19Speaker 2: The greatest rent run tours, whether it's John George or
- 59:21Speaker 2: Danielle or all these danny they keep opening more and
- 59:25Speaker 2: more and more places in New York City. So they
- 59:27Speaker 2: must know something. They must have faith in this city.
- 59:30Speaker 16: Yeah, or they're making a big mistake. But you know
- 59:34Speaker 16: the days of overexpansion in the city or over, I
- 59:38Speaker 16: don't see guys like the ones you mentioned of opening
- 59:44Speaker 16: restaurants all over the place. When they do open, it's calculated.
- 59:49Speaker 16: They're very careful, they know the market. They hire the
- 59:53Speaker 16: best people to run them. So for example, in Brooklyn
- 59:56Speaker 16: now is On George's company and his CEO Lowest three
- 1:00:00Speaker 16: Men have a new restaurant, ABC Kitchens, which is it's
- 1:00:05Speaker 16: in Brooklyn Bridge Park and it's a combination of three
- 1:00:09Speaker 16: of von Garrickton's restaurants branded as ABC. There's ABC that
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: It's already won the Design Award. It's enormously popular. But
- 1:00:21Speaker 16: they chose that place very carefully. They're not just opening
- 1:00:23Speaker 16: all the yeah just to say hey we've got a restaurant.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: This is how good Steve Cuser is. He's the only
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: man on earth that can pronounce John George's last name.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: What is it again, Von, I've worked on that for years.
- 1:00:35Speaker 16: I can't get it, good old French name.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Hey, now, what about retail. Is retail making any kind
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: of comeback?
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: Yeah? It is.
- 1:00:44Speaker 16: I wrote about to this. Today a real Estate Board
- 1:00:47Speaker 16: of New York has a new survey, and uh, it's
- 1:00:51Speaker 16: a balanced acknowledged that there was still album in spots.
- 1:00:58Speaker 16: By and large, it's doing. Retailer is a good shape.
- 1:01:03Speaker 16: Retailer is hard to measure. It's not like office space,
- 1:01:06Speaker 16: where everybody has access to the same data. It's easy
- 1:01:10Speaker 16: to measure. You know, this building has a million square feet,
- 1:01:14Speaker 16: this company releases half of it. That's not true in retail.
- 1:01:19Speaker 16: The spaces are all different sizes. When people talk about well,
- 1:01:24Speaker 16: you know there are only ten vacancies on a certain
- 1:01:28Speaker 16: stretch of an avenue, ten vacancies. Those vacancies can be
- 1:01:31Speaker 16: six hundred square feet or they could be sixty thousand
- 1:01:34Speaker 16: square feet. And I'm exaggerating, but only a little. Very
- 1:01:38Speaker 16: hard to quantify. Overall, My sense is that this isn't
- 1:01:43Speaker 16: from the real estate board. This is my own two cents.
- 1:01:45Speaker 16: It's very healthy. There's one of the problems with New
- 1:01:50Speaker 16: York City retail is that there's too much space because
- 1:01:53Speaker 16: over the last twenty five thirty years, lots more new
- 1:01:57Speaker 16: space was created, and at the same time that there
- 1:02:01Speaker 16: was downward pressure on demand for brick and mortar stores
- 1:02:07Speaker 16: because of obviously online the shopping. So you've got all
- 1:02:11Speaker 16: this new space and places like the World Trade Center
- 1:02:13Speaker 16: of Hudgson Yards, Brookfield Place on Manhattan West, all these
- 1:02:19Speaker 16: different areas with hundreds of thousands of square feet to
- 1:02:23Speaker 16: be filled, and there are only so many stores to
- 1:02:25Speaker 16: go around. All that said, it's in very good shape.
- 1:02:30Speaker 16: You go to neighborhoods like Soho, you can't believe how
- 1:02:35Speaker 16: densely packed it is, with every kind of store from
- 1:02:38Speaker 16: all over the world. You go to the meatpacking district
- 1:02:41Speaker 16: and you see that it's hard on Ninth Avenue, the
- 1:02:44Speaker 16: meatpacking district. Baccarat has moved their flagship from Madison Avenue
- 1:02:51Speaker 16: to Ninth Avenue. That says a lot about the strength
- 1:02:57Speaker 16: and health of the market.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: And also apartment rentals. The rental market is booming. Condo sales,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: even on the high end, are doing well. Right, Yeah.
- 1:03:08Speaker 16: I mean I lived on First Avenue in the seventies.
- 1:03:11Speaker 16: There's a building that just went up on Second Avenue.
- 1:03:14Speaker 16: It's pretty much around the corner for me, Second Avenue
- 1:03:17Speaker 16: in seventy seventh Street. And it doesn't have a name once.
- 1:03:21Speaker 16: They just gave it a nice it's the number of
- 1:03:24Speaker 16: the street something in the east, seventy seventh Street and
- 1:03:27Speaker 16: none of these silly names. But the developers there, Mickey
- 1:03:31Speaker 16: enough Tali, who really knows what he's doing. And he's
- 1:03:35Speaker 16: the guy that brought the Plaza Hotel back after it
- 1:03:37Speaker 16: was sold years ago. And this building, as I read
- 1:03:42Speaker 16: this a week ago, had the highest sale, highest price
- 1:03:48Speaker 16: sale of any residents in New York City. It was
- 1:03:52Speaker 16: like some crazy number thirty forty million, I don't know.
- 1:03:56Speaker 16: And that's amazing. That's on Second Avenue. About that, you know.
- 1:04:01Speaker 16: And we're not talking Park, we're not talking Madison, the
- 1:04:04Speaker 16: seventy nine street. So yeah, the market's great. How much
- 1:04:10Speaker 16: affect the rent guidelines board decision will have you know,
- 1:04:17Speaker 16: of not allowing landlords of rent stables departments to raise
- 1:04:21Speaker 16: rents for another year or two or whatever it is.
- 1:04:24Speaker 16: I think it's a stupid and self defeating stroke that
- 1:04:29Speaker 16: will have the effect. It's not going to help anybody
- 1:04:31Speaker 16: if you live in a rent stay boys department. It
- 1:04:35Speaker 16: means it will save you a couple of dollars over
- 1:04:37Speaker 16: two years not to have your rent increased by your
- 1:04:40Speaker 16: legal percentage. At the same time, it will discourage landlords
- 1:04:44Speaker 16: from making necessary repairs maintaining their buildings properly, and it
- 1:04:50Speaker 16: will also encourage landlords to see apartments off the market
- 1:04:55Speaker 16: in the expectation that when this all passes, they can
- 1:04:57Speaker 16: get a much higher rent, so they want to commit
- 1:05:00Speaker 16: to a lower artificially lower rents now, which of course
- 1:05:05Speaker 16: has boomerang effect. It doesn't help people looking for apartments.
- 1:05:09Speaker 16: It hurts them by reducing the industry. Yeah, that's New
- 1:05:12Speaker 16: York for you.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Well, but I'm glad to hear things are better, much
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: better than they're being portrayed. And that's good news. And
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: you can see all of Steve Cuzo's columns. Just go
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: to the New York Post website. Just typed in his name,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: but you'll see column after column really interesting stuff. And
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Steve Cuzo, thanks for being with us.
- 1:05:30Speaker 16: Thanks Mark, always great to be on.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: All right, take care, Yeah, rental market booming. I always
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: like to check the hotels, the major hotels in New York,
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: the big ones. Just check the hotel prices, just you know,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: try look at how much your room is. You see
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: fifteen hundred, eighteen hundred two thousand a night, That's when
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: you know some of the city's doing well. That's where
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: you know a lot of tourists are coming in when
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: the rates are that ridiculously high. Hey, don't forget coming
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: up at noon. It's Buck Sexton, Klay Travis three o'clock.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: You got the most listened to radio show in America,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Sean Hannity. You got Jesse Kelly at six, you got
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayler, What a funny show every night nine to midnight,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: and then now every morning you got Curtis Sliwa and
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Larry Minty here on seven to ten.
- 1:06:15Speaker 14: WOR give wr a bre said on the iHeartRadio app
- 1:06:20Speaker 14: to hear Mark Simone and all the WOR hosts in
- 1:06:24Speaker 14: an instance.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simon show on WOOR.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Whoa boy? They love to lie about President Trump. I
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: think sometimes they don't even know they're lying about him.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: I'm watching this. I heard this all day and every
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: year fake News President Trump appointing allies of his to
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: the Kennedy Center Board. That's every president. Every president gets
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: to make appointments to the Kennedy Center Board, and every
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: president appoints allies. No president has ever said, let me
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: pick somebody who hates my guts and is my worst enemy.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: And to the Kennedy it's always allies. Anyway, big heat
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: wave coming for days. It's gonna be brutally hot. And
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: I'll be back tomorrow ten to noon. I hope you
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: will be too, and I'll talk to you then
