Latest / Matt and Alex / Dyso’s Big Announcement!
Transcript
- 0:02S1: A listener production. Likesome to die for yoghurt on some
- 0:07S1: perfectly soaked bircher.
- 0:09S2: Bad boys get all the yum yum yum.
- 0:11S3: Yum yum good yum yum good.
- 0:13S4: It's Matt and Alex all day breakfast. Love seeing this headline.
- 0:17S4: Alex Dyson the free Ozharvest supermarket opens in Adelaide's west,
- 0:22S4: offering groceries to people in need as demand for food
- 0:25S4: relief rises. How good is that? So you can actually
- 0:27S4: go into the supermarket. It's all food and takeaway meals
- 0:32S4: and cooked meals that have been rescued from local businesses
- 0:35S4: that were otherwise going to get chucked out.
- 0:37S5: Bloody love it. And I love, I love anything with
- 0:39S5: a bit of an honesty system. You know, people who
- 0:41S5: need it will go along and get a meal and
- 0:42S5: it'll be great. It's the same as you like going
- 0:43S5: along the road and it's like, oh, strawberries on the
- 0:46S5: side of the road, you know, three bucks. Just chuck
- 0:49S5: it in the honesty tin and you're away. It's. Yeah,
- 0:51S5: it's what society should be like, isn't it? Absolutely.
- 0:54S4: And look, our podcast is free also. You can always
- 0:57S4: have it whenever you want it. You don't even need
- 0:59S4: to chuck a couple of bucks in to a little tin.
- 1:02S4: But Alex Dyson, we are dishing up a few big
- 1:07S4: news strawberries today. We've got something on our run sheet
- 1:10S4: that says Big Alex Dyson announcement, so I don't want
- 1:14S4: to hold up any longer.
- 1:15S5: Let's get into it, shall we? It's Matt and Alex
- 1:17S5: all day. Breakfast.
- 1:20S6: Let's get this show on the road.
- 1:21S7: Let's go. Here we go, here we go, here we go.
- 1:26S5: Well, Matt Okine, I am pretty happy to announce to
- 1:31S5: the world that once again, I am beating you in
- 1:36S5: a long form chess match, uh, on the chess app.
- 1:41S5: And it's going great. I'm very happy with where I'm
- 1:44S5: at at the moment. I mean, you started off a
- 1:46S5: bishop ahead. I draw him back. It's. It's looking quite good.
- 1:48S4: I can't believe I let that fall as well. Anyway, look,
- 1:50S4: no one cares about our chess rivalry, which I am
- 1:55S4: clearly better at you, considering I've beaten you so many
- 1:58S4: times in the short form game. Like so many times.
- 2:01S5: No, I am, I am the ray gun of chess.
- 2:03S5: I it's all about expression when I play.
- 2:06S4: Okay, now listen, we have a little gap here in
- 2:11S4: our schedule that we put together. And when I say
- 2:14S4: we I mean producer Bron uh, and Bron always, you know,
- 2:20S4: like puts together our plan for the show. And at
- 2:25S4: the top spot this very first segment it says Alex's
- 2:29S4: big announcement. Now this could be a number of things.
- 2:35S4: I don't know what it could be but I feel very,
- 2:40S4: very excited.
- 2:43S5: Well, it's I'm sorry to say it's the years of
- 2:46S5: you asking if I've ever have ever have kids. Uh,
- 2:49S5: it's not going to be any sort of answer to that,
- 2:52S5: but I am happy to announce.
- 2:53S4: Oh, no. Okay. That's okay. But there's there's other good news.
- 2:56S4: Hit us with a dieso.
- 2:57S5: Well, I am happy to announce that once again, I'm
- 3:00S5: going to be putting on the the suit and tie
- 3:03S5: and fronting up as the independent candidates for the seat
- 3:07S5: of Wannon in south west Victoria. We're going again.
- 3:09S4: Yes, mate. Now, this is incredible news. Having seen one
- 3:16S4: of the people who you ran alongside last time, David Pocock,
- 3:19S4: making leaps and bounds in his fields, representing the good
- 3:24S4: people of. I can't remember what the seat of the
- 3:26S4: act is, but he's doing really great stuff. Well, he's
- 3:28S4: a senator.
- 3:29S5: In the act. So yeah.
- 3:30S4: Working on a working. I still don't understand anyways. I
- 3:34S4: still don't. House of Representatives house. You tried to explain
- 3:37S4: this to me every time. I don't get it.
- 3:39S5: Anyways, we really need to get year six Canberra camp
- 3:42S5: again for adults. Wouldn't it be great if we could
- 3:45S5: set up week six Canberra camp for adults?
- 3:47S4: You've tried to tell me all this stuff before and
- 3:50S4: every time I just don't listen. I cannot like my
- 3:55S4: brain is not built to understand the boring nature of
- 4:00S4: Australian Parliament composition. Okay, so all I do know is
- 4:05S4: that you are going to be the potential leader of
- 4:08S4: the people of Wannon.
- 4:10S5: Well, I would like to call it the head follower,
- 4:12S5: because what an independent does is listen to the people.
- 4:15S5: And so I'll be, um, following their lead when it
- 4:18S5: comes to that. But no, it was it's such a
- 4:21S5: big thing to do and it's such a difficult thing
- 4:23S5: going through. But I couldn't not do it. And I
- 4:25S5: think it's because it is despite being, you know, extremely
- 4:29S5: taxing and tiring and a lot of the time the
- 4:32S5: good side of it and the people you meet and
- 4:34S5: the sort of hope and goodwill that comes out of
- 4:36S5: running for Parliament and taking a little interest. And that's
- 4:39S5: it's something that I couldn't not say yes to again.
- 4:42S5: And it's also for people like yourself, Matt O'Connor, or
- 4:46S5: young people or old people or people who aren't super
- 4:48S5: interested in politics. It's good. The only way we get
- 4:51S5: things done is people do what they can do. And
- 4:54S5: for me, having a general interest in politics, having, you know,
- 4:58S5: a couple of triple J Textline and work in media
- 4:59S5: for many years, you've got a bit more perspective on
- 5:02S5: people's opinions when it comes to stuff. You can talk
- 5:04S5: a little bit more like I've got a few things
- 5:08S5: that make me, I guess, more appropriate or more willing
- 5:12S5: to to be the candidate in the campaign than other people.
- 5:15S5: But it's about everyone doing what they can do. And
- 5:17S5: for some people, that's small things. It's like donating money.
- 5:19S5: It could be donating a little bit of time. It
- 5:21S5: could be as we've got a few people in the
- 5:22S5: Warren campaign doing already sewing some dog bandanas, ready to
- 5:27S5: be out there with the Dyson name on it.
- 5:29S4: Dogs as in rat dogs?
- 5:33S5: No, we've got separate rat bandanas for the for the
- 5:35S5: rats of the campaign. But, um. But I am very excited.
- 5:40S5: And you might think. Does this mean an election has
- 5:42S5: been called? No, it hasn't, but I thought I would
- 5:45S5: announce earlier in the event that 1st May be at
- 5:49S5: some stage, I'll be ready to go. And so you'll
- 5:51S5: be hearing lots of lots of tales from the campaign as,
- 5:54S5: as we did, which is about two years ago now.
- 5:57S4: Now. Okay. I just want to ask you what the
- 6:02S4: tipping point was, because I also know that during any
- 6:07S4: huge campaign like this. Right. And I'm assuming it would
- 6:11S4: be similar to what it's like when you're in amidst
- 6:16S4: a big TV production in which there's just so much
- 6:19S4: going on, it's so hectic and a little part of
- 6:22S4: your voice goes, don't ever do this again, Matt. Don't
- 6:26S4: ever do this again. Right. Matt.
- 6:29S5: But there wasn't a little part of my voice. It
- 6:31S5: was my actual voice. I was driving alone on the terrible,
- 6:36S5: pothole ridden roads of Wannon by myself in the back country,
- 6:41S5: going between places. And I said out loud to myself
- 6:45S5: in the car, Alex, no matter what future you says,
- 6:47S5: never do this again. I said it out loud to
- 6:53S5: myself and now.
- 6:55S4: Look at what I'm doing. You actually vocalized it.
- 6:58S5: I said I was talking to myself in aloud in
- 7:02S5: the car, as if to solidify it. Just going don't
- 7:05S5: listen to what that trickster in the future is going
- 7:08S5: to tell you. Never do this again because it is
- 7:13S5: extremely hard. You're getting attacked from all sorts of angles.
- 7:17S5: Like already before I've even announced since I'm announcing officially today.
- 7:20S5: But I've told a few people I think word may have,
- 7:23S5: you know, spread around town already. The big parties who
- 7:26S5: are in at the moment have been putting out polling,
- 7:30S5: like there's people on phones calling random numbers in one
- 7:32S5: and going, what's your biggest concern about Alex Dyson? They're
- 7:35S5: already doing negative campaign farming on me.
- 7:43S4: I don't like.
- 7:44S5: I can save you the time. Just listen to All
- 7:45S5: Day Breakfast. There's your biggest concerns with Alex Dyson. He
- 7:49S5: says them every.
- 7:50S4: Morning from.
- 7:52S5: 5.
- 7:52S4: A.m.. A thousand episodes to comb through. I know there's your.
- 7:57S5: Taxpayers money going into that. Unbloody believable. But, um, there
- 8:03S5: is something to be said for the change that you
- 8:06S5: can make. And some of it's big. Like, there's life
- 8:08S5: changing things. Like so much of our lives are impacted
- 8:12S5: by what happens, whether it's, you know, the the level
- 8:14S5: of taxation on profits from, you know, our gas which
- 8:18S5: people go, oh, it's better to sell overseas at Ukraine
- 8:22S5: war prices then to Australia. And we're not going to
- 8:25S5: tax it very much. There's like big picture things like that.
- 8:27S5: But there's also tiny little things around like areas of where,
- 8:31S5: you know, people like I took a bit more of
- 8:33S5: an interest. I got a message two elections ago from
- 8:35S5: a young girl who was like, I never really cared
- 8:37S5: about politics. And then I thought about it a little
- 8:38S5: bit after I saw your post, and now I'm going
- 8:41S5: to look up and see, you know, how I could
- 8:43S5: vote the best. And that's sort of what a thriving
- 8:45S5: democracy should be as well, is people voting for for
- 8:49S5: people who really reflect their values and, and are honest
- 8:51S5: and truthful. And yeah, I'm going to try and do
- 8:53S5: their absolute best. And so I've gotten over it. Maybe
- 8:57S5: it's just like going through a giving birth. I have
- 9:01S5: not and never will. But for those people who do
- 9:04S5: that go, I'm never having another kid. And then like, oh,
- 9:05S5: this one's quite cute. Maybe, maybe a little sibling would
- 9:07S5: be okay. But that wow, I cannot wait to.
- 9:11S4: I cannot wait for the Liberal Party to have out
- 9:14S4: have ads now. Alex Dyson is so disconnected with the
- 9:19S4: women of Australia that he thinks doing a bit of
- 9:23S4: door knocking is the same. As squeezing out a baby. Oh,
- 9:31S4: let's just hear about that guy. So unbelievable.
- 9:38S5: I am out of touch, so I do need to.
- 9:40S5: I need to get my ducks in a row there, but, um,
- 9:42S5: that's going to be part of it. Listening to so
- 9:44S5: many people. And so if you would like to get
- 9:45S5: in touch, if you want to, you know, help out,
- 9:47S5: if you want to tell me your opinion about what
- 9:49S5: a politician should do, that's what it's all about. Obviously,
- 9:52S5: the uh, A.E. Dyson. The Alex Dyson DMs on Facebook
- 9:55S5: and Instagram are open. Feel free to send them in
- 9:57S5: to Alex, but, um, producer Bron might not love that
- 10:00S5: as much. Um, but also jump on the Alex Dyson Independent.com.
- 10:05S5: Pick out yourself some sick merch if you want to
- 10:09S5: be the first person to be rocking the brand new
- 10:12S5: orange Alex Dyson independent merch. Get on there right now
- 10:17S5: because that will help the campaign. And, uh, yeah, you
- 10:20S5: can wear it around wherever, wherever you like. And the
- 10:21S5: people will be like, what?
- 10:23S4: Alex Dyson, independent.com. You got your own website. Okay. I
- 10:27S4: just I just googled, son.
- 10:29S5: Check out that.
- 10:30S4: Orange.
- 10:31S5: You got an orange hoodie. You've got yourself a tote bag,
- 10:34S5: you got yourself a t shirt, and you've got yourself
- 10:37S5: a very special item there. Matt. Check that out.
- 10:39S4: Uh, Alex Dyson, the rare Alex Dyson independent obsidian black
- 10:45S4: tote bag. Yeah. What's that?
- 10:49S5: It's the rarest of all Alex Dyson independent merch, which
- 10:54S5: is why it's priced at $500.
- 10:57S4: Is there only one of these totes?
- 11:01S5: No, there's a couple, but you got to get in
- 11:03S5: quick if you want to have the rarest of all totes.
- 11:06S4: Oh my God. I'm reading this. Rumor has it that
- 11:09S4: if Alex Dyson is within 100 yards of these totes,
- 11:11S4: he legally has to sign it with a gold sparkly pen. Wow. $500.
- 11:17S4: All right, well, there you go.
- 11:19S5: Truly, the goat of totes. That's, uh. That's what it
- 11:23S5: is there. And, yes, most of that may be a
- 11:25S5: donation to the Dyson for wanted campaign, but at least
- 11:27S5: you get something for it. Rather than just feeling good.
- 11:30S4: You've got the backing of me, you've got the backing
- 11:32S4: of our podcast team, and I'm sure that you've got
- 11:35S4: the backing of every listener on all day Breakfast. We
- 11:37S4: can't wait to keep updated with your journey along this campaign,
- 11:41S4: and hopefully see you in the head spot one of
- 11:44S4: these days. Leading the parliamentary, the representatives and senators. Peoples. Congratulations.
- 11:57S5: Can you be my PR manager?
- 12:03UU: Lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo
- 12:06UU: lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo.
- 12:10S4: Well, Alex Dyson, after providing us with the number one
- 12:13S4: news of the day, the fact that you're running again
- 12:17S4: in for the position of one, um, the head spot. Yep.
- 12:23S4: The head spot. Uh, we're on to the number two
- 12:26S4: news story of the day. And I mean that quite literally.
- 12:31S5: All right. What story? About fecal matter you got this time.
- 12:36S5: You've written a song about it. Well, we.
- 12:37S4: Can't all be clean cut politicians, mate. Some of us
- 12:41S4: have to rely on excrement to get our content. Yes.
- 12:46S4: All right.
- 12:47S5: I'll tell you what. If I become a politician, I'll
- 12:49S5: be talking a lot of extra, and I'll tell you
- 12:51S5: that much. It's what they do for a living, mate.
- 12:53S4: Well, just be careful. You're within, uh, you know, running
- 12:56S4: distance of a good toilet facility. Unlike some very powerful
- 13:03S4: people in the United States recently die. So you might
- 13:06S4: have seen this news story coming out of Massachusetts, where
- 13:11S4: the US Secret Service has had to apologize to a
- 13:14S4: Massachusetts salon. Right? Because they broke into her building and
- 13:21S4: used the bathroom ahead of a fundraiser for Vice President
- 13:26S4: Kamala Harris without asking. Now, you've heard about this story.
- 13:34S5: I did, but I still am finding it difficult to
- 13:37S5: believe that the Secret Service were conducting a raid in
- 13:41S5: order to get to a dunny. Yeah, that's that's quite
- 13:45S5: incredible work from the Secret Service that you'd be terrified.
- 13:48S5: Was there anyone in the building?
- 13:49S4: I don't know. that look, it says here that the
- 13:51S4: salon owner, Alicia Powers, says that Secret Service agents put
- 13:56S4: duct tape over her security cameras and broke into her
- 14:00S4: building by picking the lock. They then allowed various people
- 14:04S4: to use the salon's bathroom over a two hour period.
- 14:09S5: So I thought there was just one dude who was
- 14:12S5: just busting. And so he he, like, flashed his badge
- 14:16S5: and then shoulder charged the door or something. No, let.
- 14:18S4: Me tell you, there was a lot of agents flashing
- 14:21S4: their bottom badge. Yeah, to the, uh, to the toilet,
- 14:25S4: I'll tell you that much. And, um. And look, the
- 14:29S4: owner of the salon. Right, uh, told Business Insider that
- 14:33S4: she was aware that she had. So she had to
- 14:35S4: close the salon. I didn't know this. They obviously said, look,
- 14:37S4: you're going to have to close for the day.
- 14:39S5: Yep. They're not going to compensate her for the lost business.
- 14:43S4: Well, I hope they've at least provided a, you know,
- 14:46S4: extra dunny roll or something like two hours of use for.
- 14:51S4: Have you seen how much these Secret Service agents are
- 14:53S4: carrying as well? I mean, they got the vests on probably. They're,
- 14:57S4: you know, they're they've obviously got a, you know, expending
- 15:01S4: a lot of energy is what I'm going to try
- 15:02S4: and say. And, you know, energy requires fuel and fuel
- 15:05S4: gets turned into exhaust. So, um, so yeah, I wonder
- 15:10S4: what they had to do, but they I've been picking
- 15:12S4: the lock and duct taping the cameras. This is, this
- 15:14S4: seems like a.
- 15:15S5: Lot that is big lengths to go to in order
- 15:18S5: to go to the bathroom. And we asked you, what
- 15:20S5: have you had to do whilst you were busting for
- 15:22S5: the loo? Pineapple Jones says, I wore my baby in
- 15:25S5: a baby carrier while doing my business, because I didn't
- 15:28S5: want to put her on the gross public toilet floor.
- 15:31S5: I think that's fine. That is so fine. Pineapple Jones kids.
- 15:34S4: You you turn your back for a second and they
- 15:37S4: won't just sit on that floor, they will lick it
- 15:39S4: and you just cannot trust them anywhere. Strap to you.
- 15:44S4: That's what the Secret Service should have been using their
- 15:47S4: duct tape for strapping your baby to you so that
- 15:50S4: they don't touch any of the grossness.
- 15:52S5: Oh, this is a squirmy warning. Speaking of which, Renny,
- 15:55S5: I had to poo into a napkin whilst camping at splendour.
- 16:00S4: I mean, this is an interesting decision, isn't it? Like
- 16:03S4: there is surely grass and dirt where this person is standing.
- 16:06S4: Why into the why? Catching it with the pwhpa's baseball mitt.
- 16:13S4: Just catching one from the outfield. Yeah.
- 16:16S5: You're into the dirt and then wipe with a napkin,
- 16:19S5: I don't know. I don't know, ready? We need more
- 16:22S5: details on that.
- 16:22S4: Catching it in your Ian Healy's. I mean, I don't
- 16:25S4: know whether we need whether you need the special glove
- 16:29S4: or not.
- 16:30S5: Uh, that's Adam Gilchrist for our younger listeners. Uh, Casey
- 16:36S5: Casey said I once peed in between carriages of an
- 16:40S5: old train as it was moving.
- 16:42S4: Now that that is just to show off. Honestly, that's.
- 16:47S5: Like some sort of James Bond Mission Impossible scene.
- 16:50S4: Or something. Oh, God forbid. There was, you know, some
- 16:55S4: sort of Pierce Brosnan Sean Connery like, hanging underneath the
- 17:00S4: train on some mission and just copping the spray back.
- 17:03S5: Oh, they're over a bridge and someone fishing underneath or something.
- 17:06S4: I mean, that sounds sort of like. But but I
- 17:08S4: don't know if you've ever been to India, but that's
- 17:10S4: kind of what happens anyway. Like, if you go to
- 17:12S4: the toilet in the train in India, it's just a toilet.
- 17:16S4: That a hole just leads to the track. Like you
- 17:18S4: just look down the hole and see it. Why is
- 17:22S4: there a guy pooping in the in the carriage next
- 17:24S4: to us? Right. And I just saw droppings coming out
- 17:27S4: of the bottom of the train. Just. Just falling down.
- 17:30S5: We're looking out the window of a curve.
- 17:33S4: We were stopped at a station, and he just did
- 17:35S4: it at the station. It was just dropping from the
- 17:38S4: bottom of the train.
- 17:41S5: So it looked like the train was pulling.
- 17:44S4: If you couldn't see, you know like this little guinea
- 17:47S4: pig pellets just popping them out. Uh, Brady says I
- 17:50S4: did a poo on my mate's back deck. His wife
- 17:53S4: found it in the morning. It was a bad situation. Brady. Why? Mate,
- 18:02S4: we talk about staining your deck. Not like that.
- 18:21S8: Oops.
- 18:24S4: I've been riding my bike to work. Alex Tyson, as
- 18:26S4: you all know.
- 18:27S5: Ding ding.
- 18:28S4: Yeah, and I was riding home the other day after
- 18:31S4: our show, riding along, and a guy coming the opposite
- 18:34S4: direction gives me a little bit of a slow down. Right? The, um,
- 18:40S4: you know, he puts his hands like it's the hand signal,
- 18:42S4: the slow down. Okay.
- 18:43S5: Sort of like he's bouncing a basketball. Almost.
- 18:46S4: Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Exactly like that. He's doing the imaginary basketball,
- 18:49S4: and he wasn't even on a bike. He was on a.
- 18:51S4: What's one of those? It's not a Segway because it
- 18:53S4: doesn't have the hold on thing. The handles. It's just
- 18:58S4: like a it's like one of those bouncy ball platform
- 19:03S4: y things. Remember those things that you used to have
- 19:05S4: back in the day where it was just like a, a,
- 19:07S4: a round plate with a ball in the middle of it,
- 19:10S4: and people used to bounce up and down on it.
- 19:12S5: I kind of know what you mean. Yeah. He's on
- 19:14S5: a single wheel with like, pegs on the side. Yes.
- 19:17S4: Exactly like that. Yeah. Right. So he's got the big
- 19:19S4: motorcycle helmet on, but then he's on an old single wheel.
- 19:22S4: Let's call him Peggy. So Peggy, uh, gives me the
- 19:26S4: old slow down and I'm thinking, okay, now, normally in
- 19:29S4: the car, you get the old lights. Means there's police
- 19:32S4: up ahead, right? So I'm like.
- 19:34S5: So you you're thinking this is a slow down because
- 19:36S5: he's worried about you getting a fine, not a slow
- 19:39S5: down or a buddy. Slow down. You're going too fast.
- 19:42S4: No, I definitely wasn't. I was just I was just
- 19:43S4: riding along. He's going slow down So I'm thinking, okay,
- 19:45S4: am I like. And then I'm like, well, that's ridiculous.
- 19:48S4: There's not going to be cops here. Like there's no
- 19:51S4: speed limit on the bike path, I don't think. Yeah.
- 19:54S4: And even then I can't imagine the setup that they
- 19:57S4: would need to have like the speed gun and stuff.
- 20:00S4: So then I was like, okay, well maybe there's been
- 20:02S4: a crash up ahead. Mhm. Um, and so I'm going
- 20:06S4: around the corner and I keep looking and I keep
- 20:07S4: looking and I can't see any sign of a crash.
- 20:09S4: And then I turn a corner bush turkey. There was
- 20:14S4: a bush turkey on the bike path.
- 20:16S5: This guy's obviously gone past the bush turkey and thought,
- 20:18S5: oh no, this, this bush turkey could be getting someone
- 20:22S5: in a bit of trouble here.
- 20:22S4: Exactly, exactly. So and I was like, you know what?
- 20:25S4: That's right. Because I could have I could have stacked it. Um, but, uh,
- 20:28S4: but then it also made me think that one. Welcome
- 20:32S4: to Queensland. I'm back. Uh, the old bush turkey on
- 20:35S4: the bike path. It's like a new, um, it's like
- 20:38S4: a new.
- 20:39S5: King Gizzard album. Well.
- 20:41S4: I was thinking more. It's it's like a tongue twister
- 20:44S4: you know what I mean? It's like she sells seashells
- 20:47S4: by the seashore. He blasts right past bike path. Bush turkeys.
- 20:52S4: I think that's the new one they're going to teach
- 20:54S4: all the drama kids going to do now. He blasts
- 20:58S4: right past bike path bush turkeys. Okay, now.
- 21:03S5: Getting ready for your big performance. You're saying that in
- 21:05S5: the dressing room? Yeah, but.
- 21:06S4: I was thankful because. Did I tell you that I
- 21:08S4: stacked it on my bike recently? Yes. I didn't like
- 21:14S4: I had a.
- 21:14S5: Proper oh nine bike stack.
- 21:16S4: Oh my God, man. And like, I'm now 39. And
- 21:22S4: I was like, I that that that was a fall,
- 21:26S4: you know what I mean? Like I had a fall I've,
- 21:29S4: I've had an actual I've had a, I've had a
- 21:31S4: proper fall here.
- 21:32S5: Now was it a crash into something or was it
- 21:35S5: something Tom Ballard did back in the day where he
- 21:37S5: was riding with no hands? And then there was a
- 21:39S5: strong gust of wind and it blew him off.
- 21:42S4: I was going I was trying to turn my back
- 21:45S4: light on. Right. So.
- 21:47S5: And I was just riding.
- 21:48S4: Yes. And I was like, you know, I was trying
- 21:52S4: to make it look like it was something I could
- 21:53S4: just easily do, like it was effortless. And so I'm
- 21:56S4: reaching behind me. But as I was trying to reach
- 21:58S4: behind me, it wasn't turning on. It was really difficult.
- 22:01S4: And then I started going down this hill, and the
- 22:03S4: hill was steeper than I thought. And so I was
- 22:05S4: going too fast with only one hand on the brakes.
- 22:07S4: So I start braking and suddenly my wheel locked up,
- 22:10S4: and then I start skidding left and right, like full
- 22:13S4: noodling and along. And then I just stack it, man
- 22:16S4: like knees scraping on the ground. My hand bangs on
- 22:19S4: the ground. I fully flop right in the middle of
- 22:22S4: the bike path, just as another bike rider comes along
- 22:26S4: and he's all in the lycra and stuff, and he.
- 22:28S4: And he pulls up and he's like, man, are you okay?
- 22:31S4: And you know, when you get the are you okay?
- 22:33S4: And you've just got to like be like, oh yeah,
- 22:36S4: I don't know how that happened. And you just feel
- 22:38S4: like the Biggest Loser, man, I was so embarrassed.
- 22:41S5: Did you any blood? Any blood?
- 22:43S4: Oh, yeah. There was blood on my knee. There was
- 22:45S4: blood on my hand. I got home, I got home
- 22:48S4: and had to tell Sophia. I was like, dad fell
- 22:51S4: off his bike. I felt so embarrassed. I felt like
- 22:54S4: such an old man.
- 22:57S5: Particularly as she's just started riding without training wheels. So
- 23:02S5: she didn't say. She didn't say. You can borrow mine now,
- 23:05S5: did she?
- 23:06S4: Yeah. So I don't know. Maybe now, whenever people see
- 23:09S4: me on the bike path, they're telling others to slow down.
- 23:11S4: They're like, there's a bloody turkey behind us. And that
- 23:16S4: is the end of another Matt and Alex all day breakfast.
- 23:18S4: We cannot wait to see you, Thomas, because we're going
- 23:21S4: to be back here. Same time, same place.
- 23:22S5: Yeah, we are going, going, gone for today's show. But

- 23:28S5: and we will chat to you soon.
