At 2 a.m. Friday, a teen driver just 13 years old slammed into a utility pole on West 12th Street in Yuma — with a 17-year-old passenger. When cops arrived, both teens bolted, sparking a wild foot chase. The 13-year-old, who had a handgun on him, ditched it during the sprint — but officers recovered it safely. They eventually cornered both teens, who were treated for minor injuries and released. Police are now investigating how the underage driver got his hands on the firearm — and why the crash happened.
