- 0:03Speaker 1: Look at the extreme smile on my face. Not every
- 0:06Speaker 1: day I have footballing legends here in the studio. So today,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna just celebrate and enjoy the atmosphere. I'm gonna
- 0:13Speaker 1: introduce them to you live on air and on TikTok
- 0:15Speaker 1: as well. On the extreme left, if you're watching us
- 0:18Speaker 1: on your screen, we have the vice president of Entertainment Starhub.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We've got Mr. Yen Korku in the studio. Hello, sir.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Good to see you. Good morning. And the esteemed gentleman
- 0:27Speaker 1: on his.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Firstly, in the middle, 8 seasons with Manchester United, 5-time
- 0:34Speaker 1: Premier League winner and 2-time Premier League player of the season.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Say hello to Namana Village in the studio. Hello. I'm
- 0:43Speaker 1: going to the ring.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And on his left, we have 7 seasons with Chelsea,
- 0:52Speaker 1: 3-time Premier League winner. We got Joe Cole in the studio.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Take them out.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean, OK, let's focus on the football in
- 1:04Speaker 1: just a while. So Yen, I'll start with you. Again,
- 1:07Speaker 1: StarHub having a massive celebration, a massive screening for the
- 1:10Speaker 1: final day of the Premier League. What can we look
- 1:13Speaker 1: forward to that's different from last year? What can we
- 1:16Speaker 1: look forward to over at Clark Quy Fountain Square? Tell us.
- 1:18Speaker 1: This year is amazing. It's gonna be massive. So this
- 1:20Speaker 1: year we take over Clark. So imagine that the entire
- 1:24Speaker 1: place will be green and purple, will be.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Covered with screens, so we have the 10 games simultaneously
- 1:30Speaker 1: broadcast on so many screens. So from 7 p.m. onwards,
- 1:33Speaker 1: the carnival starts. So for the whole family, so we
- 1:36Speaker 1: have free flow of ice creams, we'll have simulator games
- 1:39Speaker 1: for goalkeeper, penalty, a lot of activities for the families,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and of course, meeting the legends over there. So please come,
- 1:46Speaker 1: we'll have already thousands of registrations, so I imagine the
- 1:49Speaker 1: place will be crowded and it will be full with energy.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And this one, I'm just going to be.
- 1:54Speaker 1: A little bit cheeky here because we can't ignore this.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Very soon it'll be the World Cup. Will StarHub be
- 1:59Speaker 1: having screenings of any of the games around Singapore? Yes, yes,
- 2:04Speaker 1: we'll have a screen, so it's a bit too premature,
- 2:06Speaker 1: but it's somewhere around the end of June, so we'll
- 2:09Speaker 1: have a breakfast. So still in the family atmosphere. So
- 2:13Speaker 1: that's what we want to do, right? Bring different generations
- 2:15Speaker 1: together to enjoy the game. So we'll have a family
- 2:18Speaker 1: breakfast organized as well with me.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Corp, uh, so that's going to be the end of June.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So stay tuned for more news on that. Just one
- 2:24Speaker 1: more question before I head over to our legends here
- 2:26Speaker 1: in the studio. How has the setup been so far?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Are you guys setting up the Clarke Quay Fountain Square already? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, um,
- 2:32Speaker 1: people are starting, uh, mostly tomorrow and then Sunday will
- 2:38Speaker 1: be the putting up the screens. It's going to be
- 2:40Speaker 1: a lot of work done to wire all the places,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but yeah, it's a lot of work. OK. And now,
- 2:46Speaker 1: of course, I'm gonna.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Bring on the legends live on our show. We've got
- 2:49Speaker 1: Namanu Vidi and Joe Cole in the studio. Look, I
- 2:52Speaker 1: was really hoping to have a different conversation with you guys,
- 2:55Speaker 1: talking about the final day. Will it be Arsenal or
- 2:58Speaker 1: will it be Man City? But Joe Cole, I'm gonna
- 3:01Speaker 1: start with you. Given how your boyhood club, West Ham United, I,
- 3:06Speaker 1: I think the spotlight now could be on the relegation battle. Yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I think it's so exciting, especially if you're from London
- 3:12Speaker 1: with it being West Ham and Tottenham, um.
- 3:14Speaker 1: But lots of my friends are all meeting to watch
- 3:16Speaker 1: the game, Tottenham fans and West Ham fans. Um, listen,
- 3:20Speaker 1: the Premier League's gonna lose a big club, um, hopefully for, for, for,
- 3:25Speaker 1: for not, for not too long. I think that's always
- 3:27Speaker 1: the fear with the Premier League, it's such a, it's
- 3:29Speaker 1: such an hard league to get into for the Championship, so, um.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It's really exciting, really nerve-wracking. I think West Ham will
- 3:37Speaker 1: win the game against Leeds on the weekend, and I've,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I've got this feeling where if Tottenham are not winning
- 3:43Speaker 1: against Everton.
- 3:45Speaker 1: With with 20 minutes to go, I think they can
- 3:48Speaker 1: lose the game cos the mindset of the players, that
- 3:50Speaker 1: the nerves in that stadium will be too much. So
- 3:54Speaker 1: I'm hoping West Ham stay up and um it will
- 3:57Speaker 1: be a glorious day. You'll see me partying hard if
- 3:59Speaker 1: West Ham stay up. You'll be holding a hammer balloon
- 4:02Speaker 1: and blowing some bubbles as well, but uh you both
- 4:05Speaker 1: have a very.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Interesting point going into the Premier League from the championship.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mean, another club you played for as well, Coventry City,
- 4:11Speaker 1: with your former colleague Frank Lampard as the manager. How
- 4:14Speaker 1: do you think they will do for next season in
- 4:16Speaker 1: the Premier League? I, it's gonna be so, what they
- 4:18Speaker 1: need to do is they need to do the Sunderland model,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and I think that, I think that's what they will do.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So basically when you,
- 4:26Speaker 1: When you get promoted from the from the Championship, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: you become a Premier League club, there's, there's a, there's
- 4:31Speaker 1: a pool of players that is around Europe and the world,
- 4:35Speaker 1: which is all the clubs know, there's no secrets in football,
- 4:38Speaker 1: so they know about these players, right, so they know
- 4:40Speaker 1: that you need to get, say for instance, Robbie, or
- 4:43Speaker 1: from Sunderland. So, and all of the clubs, the promoted
- 4:46Speaker 1: clubs want these quality players. And what's Coventry, because they,
- 4:50Speaker 1: they won the league early.
- 4:52Speaker 1: They're able to do business early, so they need to
- 4:54Speaker 1: be signing players within the next 2 weeks, the good
- 4:57Speaker 1: players in that, and, and if they do that like
- 4:59Speaker 1: what Sunderland done.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And they, they can integrate them, then I think they
- 5:03Speaker 1: can stay up. OK, we go from the relegation battle
- 5:06Speaker 1: to a team that has had a topsy-turvy season. My, my,
- 5:11Speaker 1: my heart hurts as well, but Vidic, your, your take
- 5:14Speaker 1: on Manchester United's season for 25, 26. Tell us your thoughts.
- 5:18Speaker 2: We didn't start well. Obviously Ruben Ammori, uh, he was
- 5:22Speaker 2: not really, I didn't feel that team had the energy,
- 5:25Speaker 2: didn't believe, you know, the football they played. So as
- 5:27Speaker 2: soon as the Michael Crick came, it seems like that
- 5:30Speaker 2: he understands the players.
- 5:31Speaker 2: He knows how to take the best out of them
- 5:33Speaker 2: and you know, we managed to beat 3 in the league,
- 5:36Speaker 2: which is a success comparing to the last season and
- 5:38Speaker 2: obviously in the beginning of the season. So he did
- 5:41Speaker 2: a fantastic job and you listen, uh, if you look
- 5:44Speaker 2: at the same players, uh they came this season. Shesko
- 5:47Speaker 2: scored 11 goals, you know, Mbumo, Cunha, so in between
- 5:51Speaker 2: 3 of them they scored like 30 goals, which is good. So,
- 5:54Speaker 2: so I, I believe that this team with Michael Curry can,
- 5:57Speaker 2: can do well next season, but we need new signings.
- 6:00Speaker 2: We need the better players.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Uh, bigger squad. So because next year we're gonna compete
- 6:04Speaker 2: in the Champions League as well, so that's going to
- 6:07Speaker 2: be demanding. Uh, so yeah, I'm, I, I, I'm excited
- 6:11Speaker 2: for the next season. I think if you look at
- 6:13Speaker 2: the event we have on Sunday, listen, I'm going to
- 6:16Speaker 2: that event happy because if I see Liverpool, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 2: after the season, you're not expecting that they're going to
- 6:21Speaker 2: win the title, they, you know, they are disappointed. City
- 6:25Speaker 2: is disappointed. So actually, yes, let's party.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Uh, on that note about Michael Key, you, you've played
- 6:32Speaker 1: with him, he's a colleague of yours as well. Are
- 6:34Speaker 1: you surprised he's now managing Manchester United? Has he always
- 6:37Speaker 1: had that mentality as a manager?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Listen, I think he's a very clever man. Uh, we
- 6:43Speaker 2: played for 9 years together. He, Jo knows, he played
- 6:47Speaker 2: in midfield, uh, in midfield. So midfield players, defenders, more
- 6:50Speaker 2: likely they, they become good coaches because they see the game.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Obviously they're the team players, they don't have big egos
- 6:57Speaker 2: like the strikers.
- 6:59Speaker 2: So I think that's played a big part and he has,
- 7:01Speaker 2: has always had a strong opinion, but he's not the one,
- 7:04Speaker 2: he's not the person that's always gonna push his opinion.
- 7:07Speaker 2: You agree with that, you play with him as well.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So it's, it's, I think he's in this moment in time,
- 7:12Speaker 2: if you look at the new generations, Michael Carrick is
- 7:13Speaker 2: is fantastic man to to manage the the young generations
- 7:17Speaker 2: because he he's not aggressive, he, he, his approach is
- 7:20Speaker 2: very steady.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Uh, he's giving confidence to the people and the way
- 7:24Speaker 2: he talks as well helps. So I think he's a good, uh,
- 7:28Speaker 2: good coach for Man United and the way he represents
- 7:30Speaker 2: the club and how he handled himself in this difficult situation,
- 7:34Speaker 2: in good situation, I think says that he's, uh, he's ready.
- 7:37Speaker 1: We're gonna go back to Village and Joel in just
- 7:39Speaker 1: a while. Jan, I don't know whether we established this
- 7:42Speaker 1: last year. Do you have a favorite team you're following
- 7:44Speaker 1: in the Premier League? How did they do this season
- 7:46Speaker 1: for you?
- 7:46Speaker 1: So, yeah, so we talked about that last year. I
- 7:49Speaker 1: was saying the Arsenal as my hobby because of the,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know, the 90s where most of the team was
- 7:53Speaker 1: actually French players, and even more happier because, you know,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm otherwise I'm a fan of PSG. So next week
- 8:02Speaker 1: is going to be a big one, which, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 1: whichever the outcome, I'll be happy anyway. So are you
- 8:06Speaker 1: wearing a jersey. So the one thing that has been
- 8:11Speaker 1: brought into the spotlight this year for the Premier.
- 8:13Speaker 1: League season, VAR. Very interesting course and I'm very happy
- 8:18Speaker 1: we actually have a defender and an attacker in the studio.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I want to start this question with Vintage. Vinic, if
- 8:24Speaker 1: VAR existed around your time while playing for Manchester United,
- 8:28Speaker 1: how many penalties do you think you would have given
- 8:30Speaker 1: away if they were to review every single challenge you've
- 8:33Speaker 1: made?
- 8:34Speaker 2: I think you would change your game comparing to, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 2: situation you have. So, you know, I, I had that
- 8:38Speaker 2: myself when I was playing in uh.
- 8:40Speaker 2: In Russia, Serbia, then I came to England, you know,
- 8:43Speaker 2: have to adapt, but if, if you look at it
- 8:45Speaker 2: in general, we are, they bring some positive side, but
- 8:48Speaker 2: there is a negative as well. For me, negative side is.
- 8:51Speaker 2: That, you know, we're not really bring that emotion 100%
- 8:55Speaker 2: when when we score the goal or or or or
- 8:57Speaker 2: either conceding the goal. You always believe, you know, something
- 9:00Speaker 2: wrong happened. I think that's something which I don't like
- 9:04Speaker 2: that they're taking from football. But on the other hand,
- 9:06Speaker 2: you know, you want to be like football, you want
- 9:08Speaker 2: to be honest, you want to be like exactly what
- 9:10Speaker 2: it is. So, you know, I think it's still, there
- 9:13Speaker 2: is a space to work around it.
- 9:15Speaker 2: To improve the this model and um, but you know,
- 9:20Speaker 2: we have to, football has to change, has to, I
- 9:24Speaker 2: would say evolve, and hopefully they're gonna evolve in the
- 9:27Speaker 2: right way because if you look at the new generations,
- 9:31Speaker 2: they won't contend to be fast. So if, if, if
- 9:34Speaker 2: you have a lot of time spending in a VR.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I'm not sure, you know, new generation's gonna go deep
- 9:39Speaker 2: into the football, so yeah, that's
- 9:41Speaker 1: my worry. Joe is an attacker, VAR for you. What
- 9:44Speaker 1: are your thoughts on that? No, I mean, that's not
- 9:45Speaker 1: for me. I think that the, the, the soul of football,
- 9:47Speaker 1: the spirit of football is the fans, and, and then
- 9:49Speaker 1: it's the, it's a, it's a show at the end
- 9:52Speaker 1: of the day and it's passion, and it's too slow,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you know.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Listen, I think goal line technology, we, nobody argues with that,
- 10:01Speaker 1: because it is what it is. I think the, the
- 10:03Speaker 1: thing that they use in Europe, which is the, the offsides,
- 10:06Speaker 1: they're really fast. Even if it's somebody's toe offside, people
- 10:09Speaker 1: are disappointed, but they accept it, cos it is an act.
- 10:13Speaker 1: But when they're using VAR for decisions that are still.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Um, uh, subjective, I think, and it takes so long,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and it, it, it takes away that moment of the exhilaration.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I'd do two things in football, I'd ban, um, I'd
- 10:27Speaker 1: ban the VAR apart from, um, offsides.
- 10:31Speaker 1: And uh goal line technology, and then do you know
- 10:33Speaker 1: what I would do as well, and maybe the young
- 10:35Speaker 1: generation might not like this, I'd say, listen, leave your
- 10:37Speaker 1: phones off and watch the game, cos there's something, there's
- 10:40Speaker 1: something about being in the moment at a football match
- 10:43Speaker 1: with a fan, when the crowd are invested in it,
- 10:46Speaker 1: not when 25% of them are, are.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Watching their phone, there's something beautiful about that at football,
- 10:52Speaker 1: and I think if we can get back to that,
- 10:54Speaker 1: it makes the atmosphere even better. We're gonna touch more
- 10:57Speaker 1: about phones and social media in just a bit here
- 10:59Speaker 1: on 987, going for a very quick break. When we
- 11:01Speaker 1: come back, more from Yen Korko, Namenya Village, and Joeo live.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I've been motor mouth Joe this morning, yepping nonstop in
- 11:08Speaker 1: the studio because live on my left, if you're watching
- 11:12Speaker 1: us on TikTok Live, we have the vice president.
- 11:14Speaker 1: of Entertainment StarHub, Yen Korko in the studio. We have
- 11:17Speaker 1: Manchester United, Namenya, uh, legend, Nemena Vidic and Chelsea legend
- 11:21Speaker 1: Joel Cole as well in the studio. Gentlemen, thank you
- 11:23Speaker 1: so much for your time. I, I know it's been
- 11:26Speaker 1: nothing but football content, meeting loads of creators, doing video
- 11:30Speaker 1: after video and talking football this whole morning. I appreciate it. Yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna start with you again. Are you at all
- 11:36Speaker 1: impressed that here in Singapore and maybe even Asia, there's
- 11:39Speaker 1: a huge football following?
- 11:42Speaker 1: And not just for these two clubs, but other clubs
- 11:44Speaker 1: as well, and we're all watching it on StarHub on
- 11:46Speaker 1: final day. Yeah, yeah, it's quite impressing. So it's true
- 11:49Speaker 1: and I, we talk a lot about that, but it's
- 11:52Speaker 1: still impressing me how Premier League gets people together. I
- 11:56Speaker 1: mean that's probably as a broadcaster, right? That's, it's, if
- 11:59Speaker 1: you look at all the portfolio we have, it's probably
- 12:02Speaker 1: the only one that brings, you know, 3 generations in
- 12:05Speaker 1: front of the screen. That's the only.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Content that people watch together in the home. So in Asia,
- 12:10Speaker 1: there's a lot of homes with 3 generations. It's quite common, right?
- 12:13Speaker 1: And the 3 generations, the only content that they can
- 12:16Speaker 1: watch together, it's really Premier League. Everything else, people are
- 12:19Speaker 1: watching on their individual phone. So it has this unique property.
- 12:23Speaker 1: So Premier League is magic for that and that's, you know,
- 12:26Speaker 1: what we try to stimulate that more and more by,
- 12:28Speaker 1: by giving, you know, more accessible pricing by bringing people together.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Also in the community centers and deep inside Singapore. So
- 12:38Speaker 1: not only in Clarkey for the last day, but we
- 12:40Speaker 1: do that throughout the year. And this is what really
- 12:42Speaker 1: we find magic about Premier League and it's amazing to
- 12:44Speaker 1: see that in in Singapore. So it's like the domestic league, yeah.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It is, it is. I mean, it's very widely followed
- 12:50Speaker 1: here in Singapore. So Joe and Village, let me just
- 12:52Speaker 1: give you a scenario of what a Singaporean fan might
- 12:55Speaker 1: go through. If there's a big clash or a big game.
- 12:57Speaker 1: It will happen 2:00 a.m., 3 a.m. our time, or
- 13:00Speaker 1: even 4 a.m. on a weekday morning, to which if
- 13:03Speaker 1: it's my team against yours or my team against Liverpool,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I'll wake up to catch the game. So we Asian
- 13:08Speaker 1: fans truly appreciate whenever you guys come to this side
- 13:10Speaker 1: of the world. Are you at all impressed on the
- 13:12Speaker 1: following that you have? Vinish, let's start with you for
- 13:15Speaker 1: Manchester United.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's amazing what you're talking about, you know,
- 13:19Speaker 2: what's what's happening here. I think it's very important for
- 13:21Speaker 2: the Asian fans.
- 13:23Speaker 2: You know, to feel atmosphere because they don't have an
- 13:25Speaker 2: opportunity to come to the stadium and and watch the games,
- 13:28Speaker 2: but with this, you know, what's gonna happen in khacky
- 13:30Speaker 2: on Sunday, this is gonna bring fans, different fans from
- 13:35Speaker 2: supporting different clubs to the same area and, and cheer
- 13:37Speaker 2: for the club. This is amazing and actually it's, it's
- 13:40Speaker 2: first experience I I ever have. I will ever have actually.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I've never been in this kind of events, so I'm
- 13:46Speaker 2: looking forward to that and.
- 13:47Speaker 2: You know, I know how much the, the fans have
- 13:50Speaker 2: a passion for, for football and for Premier League, and
- 13:52Speaker 2: I'm always looking forward to come and obviously first time,
- 13:55Speaker 2: I'm first time in Singapore, you know, I'm really impressed
- 13:57Speaker 2: by the city and everything I saw, so, and actually
- 14:00Speaker 2: I'm impressed about you guys early in the morning with
- 14:03Speaker 2: that energy. Yeah it's incredible.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Well done, well
- 14:05Speaker 1: done. I wonder how I do it sometimes as well,
- 14:08Speaker 1: but Joe, is this your first time in Singapore as well?
- 14:09Speaker 1: I've been here briefly a few years ago and I
- 14:12Speaker 1: loved it. Um, it's a, it's great, the passion of
- 14:15Speaker 1: the fans.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I know we've said, we've said it so many times today,
- 14:18Speaker 1: I said I've, I've, but genuinely the passion of the
- 14:20Speaker 1: fans and to get up at that time of the
- 14:22Speaker 1: morning and, and is amazing, and, and what the manager
- 14:25Speaker 1: said I think is great on Sunday night, but, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 1: because you're so, you're at the other end of the world,
- 14:30Speaker 1: you can't come to the stadiums. So getting together in,
- 14:34Speaker 1: you know, with all the different fans watching the games,
- 14:36Speaker 1: you know, you can have, you know, there might be
- 14:37Speaker 1: a few chants going back and forth, that energy, that passion.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That is what, that is what I think is what
- 14:44Speaker 1: that's the magic of the Premier League, getting people together.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I might be asking a no-brainer question here, given how
- 14:49Speaker 1: it's your first time in Singapore for both Village and
- 14:52Speaker 1: for Joe who's been here briefly before, but now you're
- 14:54Speaker 1: experiencing everything. Can the Premier League players survive our heat
- 14:58Speaker 1: and humidity?
- 15:00Speaker 2: That's
- 15:00Speaker 1: a good question.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Uh,
- 15:03Speaker 2: hm, listen, I'll tell you something, I think football will
- 15:05Speaker 2: be different. Yeah, yeah, Premier Premier League will be different.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Premier League will be different. It'll be different. You won't
- 15:10Speaker 1: be able to play at the speed this Premier League,
- 15:12Speaker 1: like it's just, just walking from here to the car.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm drenched in sweat. Oh, likewise, I mean, I could
- 15:16Speaker 1: be in an air conditioned room after.
- 15:17Speaker 1: cold shower, I'll be perspiring as well. We're gonna touch
- 15:21Speaker 1: very briefly, and I promise Yen this very briefly on
- 15:24Speaker 1: the World Cup. It's too hard to ignore, given how
- 15:27Speaker 1: it's happening in less than a month's time. So to
- 15:29Speaker 1: Vinic and Joel, as players who have played in these
- 15:32Speaker 1: kind of tournaments before, I, I really wonder what's the
- 15:35Speaker 1: mentality of some players knowing that, oh, very soon it's
- 15:38Speaker 1: the Euros or very soon it's the World Cup.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Towards the final part of the season, do you find
- 15:43Speaker 1: yourself pulling out from challenges? Do you find yourself going
- 15:46Speaker 1: extra hard, Joe, to not, to not get injured before? No,
- 15:50Speaker 1: not at all. OK, tell us, tell
- 15:52Speaker 1: us more.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I think what is the issue when it comes to the, the,
- 15:56Speaker 2: the last stage of the season, especially World Cup or
- 15:58Speaker 2: European Championship.
- 15:59Speaker 2: It's energy. I think it's, I think sometimes the players
- 16:04Speaker 2: that have too much stress during the season, obviously.
- 16:08Speaker 2: They're fighting for the trophies, you know, some of them,
- 16:11Speaker 2: they're disappointed, some of them they're they're lifting the trophy.
- 16:14Speaker 2: So going to the World Cup, you know, I think
- 16:17Speaker 2: most important is recovery. Um, and bringing back that energy
- 16:21Speaker 2: and obviously stress you're having as well playing for the
- 16:24Speaker 2: national team because whole nation watching the, the, the, the, the, the,
- 16:27Speaker 2: the national team.
- 16:28Speaker 2: And I, I find out for myself, it's really stressful
- 16:31Speaker 2: and expectations they're always high. It doesn't matter for which
- 16:34Speaker 2: country you're playing, you know, your country expecting, you know, to,
- 16:38Speaker 2: to do well, you know, to win or to to
- 16:39Speaker 2: quiet for the second round. So, uh, I think stress
- 16:43Speaker 2: playing a big part and, you know, energy, I think
- 16:45Speaker 2: something which you have to really think about.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Joe for yourself.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I never, listen, you start thinking, if
- 16:53Speaker 1: you've got nothing to play for, you start thinking about
- 16:55Speaker 1: the World Cup, but as competitors, you go into a game,
- 16:58Speaker 1: even myself, like, and then the manager's, you know, he's
- 17:01Speaker 1: defender and he has to be stronger. Even myself, like
- 17:04Speaker 1: I would never pull out of a tackle or anything
- 17:06Speaker 1: just to because of that, but he does play on
- 17:07Speaker 1: your mind, and he's right, the, the.
- 17:10Speaker 1: That it's the, the team that will win it will
- 17:12Speaker 1: be the the manager and the team that manages, manages
- 17:15Speaker 1: to recover that, that spirit and the energy and, and
- 17:19Speaker 1: gather it all together and cos that's what it is,
- 17:21Speaker 1: there's no, there's no difference between the teams, France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina,
- 17:25Speaker 1: they've all got quality. It'll be the team that's got
- 17:28Speaker 1: the big, the, the most energy, the most spirit that
- 17:30Speaker 1: can do it, and you, it's difficult cos you've had
- 17:32Speaker 1: a long season.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Lots of competitions and it'll be the manager that can
- 17:37Speaker 1: manage to do that, and I hope it's Thomas Tuchel.
- 17:39Speaker 1: So I have my second to last question for all
- 17:42Speaker 1: three gentlemen. Who's gonna win the World Cup? Predictions. Yan,
- 17:46Speaker 1: we'll start with you. Well, you know what I'm going
- 17:49Speaker 1: to say, right?
- 17:51Speaker 1: No, but France are stacked this season, they are stacked,
- 17:55Speaker 1: but it brings them bad luck. So if they're favorite,
- 17:57Speaker 1: they lose. So I'm going to say England.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Come on England,
- 18:02Speaker 1: Vic yourself.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Listen, Serbia is not qualified, so I'm not really bothered.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But uh, if, like I said, I think winning Arsenal,
- 18:10Speaker 2: winning title this season, I think was, was good for
- 18:13Speaker 2: the Premier League and is good for football, but I
- 18:15Speaker 2: think as well England winning the World Cup, I think
- 18:18Speaker 2: will be good for, for England because at the end
- 18:20Speaker 2: of the day, if you look at the English football,
- 18:22Speaker 2: what they're bringing to the world, Premier League and.
- 18:24Speaker 2: You know, you would like this country to, you know,
- 18:28Speaker 2: to get a reward, you know what I mean, and
- 18:30Speaker 2: in terms of that, I I I I'm, I'm wishing
- 18:31Speaker 2: that Premier League, uh, England will win the World Cup. Wow,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and going for England as well. I'm gonna go with
- 18:38Speaker 1: my heart and I'm gonna say England. Well, let's go.
- 18:41Speaker 1: We have, we have 4 people here in the in
- 18:45Speaker 1: the studio saying that they want England to win the
- 18:47Speaker 1: World Cup. It's been 60 years since 1966.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Now or never, Jan, can I ask a favor, one
- 18:53Speaker 1: final plug on where can we come down to see
- 18:56Speaker 1: the massive screening of the StarHub's final day celebration. The
- 18:59Speaker 1: Star Watch party, final day for the Premier League is
- 19:02Speaker 1: on Clark Quay at 7 p.m. That's when the festivities starts.
- 19:07Speaker 1: So from 7 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. it's the carnival, right?
- 19:10Speaker 1: And after that 11:00 p.m., 10 games simultaneously. Come and
- 19:14Speaker 1: watch this. Yeah, it's an experience and maybe for Joko fans.
- 19:18Speaker 1: To Chelsea supporters or any of your supporters here in Singapore,
- 19:21Speaker 1: any message for them. Um, thank you. Thank you. We
- 19:25Speaker 1: appreciate all of the support and the love, and uh,
- 19:29Speaker 1: I just hope that they can all have a great time.
- 19:32Speaker 1: We can't all win, but we can all have a
- 19:33Speaker 1: great time. Vidi, for yourself.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Definitely, thank you for support over these, these years, especially
- 19:39Speaker 2: in these last few years when we have difficult times
- 19:42Speaker 2: that you know that they're really united, United fans.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Looking forward to see them all, you know, the, not
- 19:49Speaker 2: just Manchester United fans, but all fans to come together.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Let's enjoy this moment. Obviously I will be happy what
- 19:56Speaker 2: we did this season, you know, as a Manchester United,
- 20:00Speaker 2: so let's come and celebrate and hope that next season
- 20:03Speaker 2: will will be even better. Beautiful
- 20:04Speaker 1: stuff. Again, a big thank you to Jan Korku, Nemanja Vidic,
- 20:07Speaker 1: and Joe Cole in the studio. This is fantastic.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And for you here on TikTok and on the air,
- 20:12Speaker 1: you heard this first. I'm gonna do a very interesting
- 20:14Speaker 1: video with Namana Village and Joe Cole in just a while.
- 20:17Speaker 1: We're gonna go record the video and hopefully I can
- 20:19Speaker 1: post it up by tomorrow afternoon. Be on standby, keep
- 20:22Speaker 1: it here on 987.
