- jheremy: I got sagueros and rafters. Jaba: Hello everybody, you just heard the preview there. Jeremy's gonna take this guerrows and rafters. We are doing a speed review of yesterday's AFL action. I think you know who we both are. If you don't, go listen to the intro of a different episode. jheremy: First. Jaba: crunch for time, Jeremy. What happened in the AFL yesterday? Hit us. jheremy: Alright, so the Rafters put up twenty to the Segueros four. And I was impressed at first because I saw that Patrick Forbes got the win, then I realized he was on the team that only allowed four. He allowed one himself, five strikeouts, one of the the one earned run was a solo blast. thanks a lot, Welbin Francisca, hitting his second of the year. so there's a lot of offense, obviously, with the Rafters. Demetrio Grasante is two for six, had a walk. That average is getting up there. Really need that extra base juice to kind of start kicking in, please. Jaba: Yeah. jheremy: Jared Thomas kind of finding himself a new life here in the AFL. Slow, slow start. I was the first one to crack 20 strikeouts, had a four for five day yesterday with the with a his with two triples up to four on the year now. So he's he might be approaching by territory right now because he's probably like a five dollar base auto. Yas from Mercedes, Ofer, Ellian Soto. The younger brother of your favorite player went one for two in probably his debut. Jack O'Dowd, three for five, Jaba: Right. Most of them. jheremy: once again. Kid just doesn't stop hitting baseballs three seventy-eight. Twelve thirty nine, that is Dan O'Dowd's son, went to Vanderbilt and was a PG All American. Andy Perez had a home run in part of his two for three day with five ribbies. Teo Banks continues to hit three eighty three eighty five, two for four day. No home run no Bowman there and Mr. West K West Kyle West Kanye West it's Kyle West Jaba: Ha ha. jheremy: went three for four with a home run for RBIs. So Kanye did well, Jack O'Dowd had another double, Andy Perez had a double and a home run. So not bad. Not a bad showing. Well, I I keep saying Andy had a home run. It he was hit by a pitch. Sorry. Jaba: Yeah. jheremy: Zion Rose one for five with the hat trick. Not great. Welbin Francisca, two for five, did have another home run. He's he's at a four forty two with a twelve thirty one. I don't think he's a sell though, is he? Would you would you mark him a sell at this point with Jaba: No, because I I I think our big concern with him going in was like how real is this power? Because obviously he had always been a good hitter, but there was no real power and then I feel like this year the power exploded and we were like, Okay, well, you know, how real is that? And now he's just still just hitting the piss out of the wall. I mean jheremy: Yeah. Jaba: I don't think he's a sell. I think he's a buy if anything. jheremy: Yep. Walcott, Aiden Miller combined two for ten. The two hits came courtesy of Sebastian Walcott. Brooks Bryant, no Bowman. Peck. Well, yeah. Save some Jaba: Just combining Aiden Miller into that for no reason. jheremy: Tante Norrie went one for four. Angebel didn't play. Ange Bell's stuff is way up right now because he's hitting way better than a seventeen year old should in the AFL. Jaba: Yeah. jheremy: pitching. I can't imagine there's a whole lot when you let up twenty. Jaba: Yeah, I looked, it's not great. jheremy: Twelve K Zo. So you you you strike out twelve, but you still let up seventeen earned. That's not great. Jaba: How many walks? jheremy: Only seven, which is like feels like par for the course for the AFL. Jaba: that's Yeah, I thought you were gonna say like sixteen or something. jheremy: Mazakato came in for one out, a third of an inning. He struck him out. That was it. Wonder if he got hurt or if it was just a left on left. Get him get us out of this jam, please. Yeah, that's about it for pitching. Forbes, though. Five punches and three innings. Solo blast was the only one of two hits he let up. Only earned run. He's got a two sixteen ERA in the AFL, which ain't bad. So Jaba: Yep. jheremy: Yeah, that's what I got. Jaba: Yeah, over to the Desert Dogs and the Solar Sox. Solar Sox won thirteen to twelve. So no shortage of runs there either. Not sure what was up with the weather or if the pitchers were all drinking together before the games. But yeah, a lot of action. I will say, not sure everyone caught it. Caleb Bonimer has left the Desert Dogs. jheremy: Yeah. Jaba: th Jeremy was telling me I didn't read the article, but he was saying it seemed as if it was just a matter of he's done his work, he's jheremy: Yep. Jaba: shown what he needs. two, no reason to stick around. So he's gone. maybe he was not the reason they were losing, because they lost again. Six of the nine hitters in the Glendale lineup did have multiple hits. Every hitter recorded at least one hit. what is it? It's not Blake Shelton. What's it? Colby Shelton. jheremy: Shelter. Jaba: Head the only homer. Wyatt Sanford doubled twice. Davlon doubled. Harlan doubled. Harlan, go listen to today's buy-sell hold. Very Harlan game. Two for six. Double pair of strikeouts, really on brand there. Davlon continues to play better, but still the overall lines. Two for six with a double. 1K hitting 217 with a 730 OPS. Tate South has seen two for five up to a 941 OPS. Obviously he stole his fourth base of the campaign as well. Eduardo Quintero stole three bases, so that's nice to see. Only one for three, but he did have a pair of walks, 532 OPS, ugly stuff there. Max Williams, one for four with a single two strikeouts, OPSing 279. Owen Carey, who I think we had both not declared dead, but we were low on him. Two for three in this one, para walks, hitting 300 with an 895 OPS. So we'll see if that carries into next year. that's pretty much it on that end over with the SolarSocks. Jake Cook, two for four, scored three runs, doubled, stole his tenth bag of the campaign. OPSing 883. like we've discussed, really toolsy guy. I know in the minors this year the bat to ball was pretty ugly. So really encouraging stuff from him here. Aaron Parker, my favorite five-seven catcher. jheremy: Sure. Jaba: Another two for four still OPSing over a thousand. gotta love those short jheremy: Stole two bags. Jaba: kings. Jake Monroe. He had double number four. I was just checking to make sure because he was one for three with four RBIs. So I wasn't sure if you got a grand slam. OPSing eight eighty two. Nobody cares. I care. Hopefully someday people will care. But for whatever reason, Jake Monroe's not not doing it for people. Whatever. You're loss. Arjun Damala weirdly hitting seventh in the lineup. He's he's come back to earth pretty good. Over two, pair walks, K, hitting 250 with an 896 OPS, so still good on the hole, but definitely a step back from the way he was hitting earlier. Juan Kabada, second youngest guy in the fall league. O for four pair of K's OPSing 451. Not good. You know what else wasn't good? Jake Bloss, one inning, seven earned runs. Not even really sure how he got left in there. So it came off seven hits and one walk. through forty-one pitches. I'm sure the Blue Jays are thrilled with whoever is managing the solar socks, just letting them die out there. they used nine pitchers. jheremy: A lot. Jaba: yeah, that's that's always a good sign when you have to use nine pitchers. They shoot sixteen hits and seven walks. So good stuff there. on the other side of things, Desert Dogs, no exciting pitchers. Xander Muth. got out of a jam with inherited runners. He might have. I don't know if he let the inherited runners in, but it says he just came in and got an out, so we'll jheremy: Yeah. Jaba: just assume that he got out of it. Yeah, nobody else worth worth knowing about. Three and a half hour game. Two. jheremy: Yep. Did did you talk about Tate South the scene at all? Another two hit day. I think we glanced right over. Jaba: briefly, yeah. Stolm base number four. jheremy: Also is just demolishing baseballs. I think he's got one of the top five average exit VLOs of ninety five. Yeah. And then Jaba: Really? That's very nice. jheremy: somebody I know you did glance over and I take exception to was Antonio Anderson who hit his third home run of the night, of the year last night, went two for four, four RBIs, up to a three forty nine with an eleven sixty five playing first base. So Go Red Sox. Jaba: Go side. jheremy: last game, Scorps Javalinas. I guess we'll just start with Ty Pete because he had another three hit game. It's kind of ridiculous what he's doing at this point. One of those three hits was a home run. speaking of home runs, Carlos Sanchez, he is color only. He had one out at 106. two home runs for him. He was kind of had some buzz around his name last year, but again, he doesn't have autos. It doesn't seem like his color pops all that often. Ike Irish had a hit. One hit for old Ike Irish. Sam Hernandez, two for five, no punches. We like that. Yerlin Confidon just continues to hit. I think he's up there in average exit vO and top hardest hit baseballs of the Have to sneeze. That'll wake somebody up. I think I I put my screen Jaba: Yeah. Someone's AirPods just exploded. jheremy: exploded. My apologies. Ty Harvey had a double. Ty Pete, like we said, had the home run. Who else had home runs? Ike? Not Ike Irish, though. that would be Mr. Brandon Ike. The 25 year old went three for four with three RBIs, couple runs scored, and a homer. on the pitching side of things, I don't think there was a whole lot 'cause that's not Kendrick Chur Churio, despite what we always think. Jaba: Yeah. jheremy: Luke Holman threw two innings, walked five, punched out two, no hits, no runs. Hey, get out of your self made jams and we're okay. Jaba: All I'm hearing is two shutout innings. jheremy: That's right. stolen bases or far and few between. Ty Ty Pete's got ten bags though. He also got caught for the third time. And Jaba: He and Jake Cook have to be leading this thing with ten. jheremy: That that's gotta be the tie, I'd imagine. It is. It's Jaba: I I'm comfortable making that claim. jheremy: those two and Core Jackson also with ten. flipping over to the other side, Jet Williams one for four. I feel like at this time last year, we would have said he was probably gonna have the impact in the big leagues. just kind of working his way back, getting his reps in now. Zayer Jaba: Yeah. jheremy: Hope had an over day. Three walks though, got on base, one punch out. Dakota Jordan didn't punch out. But he's second behind Jared Thomas with 20 on the year. He had an 0 for 1 day with three two runs scored, three walks, and an RBI, despite no hits. So that's cool. Nemar Ochoa, one for five. That one being his second home run of the year, four RBIs. He also Jaba: Hell yeah. jheremy: had a hat trick. He is hitting two twelve with a seven seventy-two. Go figure. Braylon Payne. This is a game that you just want to forget about. O for five with four punches. Nick Monaster had another hit. There's really Who's that? Jaba: His numbers have really come crashing down. That's pain. jheremy: Payne. Yeah, he's hitting 200 with a five eighty-nine. Matthew Wood, O for. I I wanna say that's Ike Davis at first base as a throwback to his Arizona State Days. And Caden Kent had a two for four day down at the bottom of the lineup hitting three six with a seven eight. that that Davis is actually somebody who played in my fourteen U game, Luke Davis, out of California, hitting three twenty on the year. No Bowman though. Say what? Jaba: I used to love Davis. I used to love Vike Davis. jheremy: It makes sense. Scott got the start. I assume that's not Tanner Scott. It's Winscott. Jaba: Or Christians, God. jheremy: It is Winscott. no Bowman there. So yeah, I mean overall, what are the odds that's Winston Santos at zero because we already did his team. Yariel Santos. yeah, that's about it. There's not a whole lot. really over on the Scorpion side of things. good to see how Neymar hit another home run, but that's like Those are far and few between with strikeouts galore. but yeah, type. Type's a takeaway here. Hit another home run, has ten bags, multiple three hit games already. The home run was ninety nine, four eight with a thirty one launch. all things we like to see. So that's that's kind of Jaba: did you know that the Rizzler did not attend Big Justice's Bar Mitzvah this past jheremy: No way. Jaba: weekend? Yeah. jheremy: Neymar's home run was one hundred two point three. It was a grand slam. The grandest of kinds of home runs. Jaba: That's our boy. I stand by the he's obviously not going crazy, but I feel like he's having a lot of a lot of nice moments. I also think Nick Monastery, hit nine forty eight. I know he's a bit older, so you could kinda say that's to be expected. But I I I feel jheremy: He's so cheap though. Jaba: like at some point that might warrant a conversation, probably not a very long one, but I jheremy: Yeah. Jaba: I I do yeah, I mean he was awful this year, but I mean he he he's been phenomenal. So maybe a guy to have on jheremy: Yep. Jaba: your radar. He also OPS' five eighty this past year and five two in his first pro season, so has a college player. jheremy: Proceed with caution. Jaba: Yeah, so I think that's the conversation in its entirety. But all right. jheremy: Yeah. Yeah, fair. Jaba: Thanks everyone for listening. We'll be back tomorrow with Bob. If there's anything you wanna hear us talk to him about, let us know in the next eighteen hours. And yeah. Have an awesome day, everybody. Appreciate you guys listening. Let's go, Mets. See ya. jheremy: See ya.
