Bill Doba, the legendary Washington State football coach and defensive architect who led the Cougars to national recognition and left an indelible mark on Pullman, passed away at 85 after a recent stroke. His five-year head coaching run (2003–2007) included a thrilling debut season with 10 wins and a Holiday Bowl triumph over Texas, propelling WSU to 9 nationally.
