- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to The Favorites, your go to NFL betting podcast.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are part of the Action Network family of pods.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm Brandon Kravitz, your host. Back at it with the
- 0:18Speaker 1: first lady of the podcast, Kendri Middleton. On today's show,
- 0:22Speaker 1: the divisional previews continue. We stay south, but this time
- 0:27Speaker 1: we're in the AFC. If the NFC is the drunkest
- 0:31Speaker 1: division in the NFL, this is like the Designated Driver Division,
- 0:36Speaker 1: a well coached division, some Super Bowl contenders, just four
- 0:40Speaker 1: responsible teams who have a shot to make some noise.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I'm excited to break this one down. This is like
- 0:46Speaker 1: the moment that you have been waiting for all off season. Kendro,
- 0:49Speaker 1: we get to talk about your Jaguars.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I am anxious, but I am excited for this season.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And you have that sort of feeling where you in
- 1:01Speaker 1: the deepest recesses of your mind, you do expect this
- 1:05Speaker 1: team to be good. But because that expectation lives in
- 1:08Speaker 1: your brain, you enter this season more nervous than anything else,
- 1:13Speaker 1: because you know that it's the NFL, it's sports, and
- 1:15Speaker 1: things can go horribly wrong.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's I know that better than anybody else. I think
- 1:19Speaker 2: it's just the inconsistency of this team my entire life,
- 1:23Speaker 2: and they've never been good for an extended period of time.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I know pain, I know hurt, and I am ready
- 1:31Speaker 2: to get hurt again, but I'm not ready to get
- 1:33Speaker 2: hurt again at the same time. This is truly like
- 1:35Speaker 2: the most abusive relationship I think I've ever been.
- 1:37Speaker 1: In ANFL preseason tonight, we've got a decent slate of games.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I have two bets that have been logged in the app.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I'm going to target the totals more than anything else,
- 1:50Speaker 1: not the biggest totals better during the season. But I
- 1:52Speaker 1: think there are enough strong trends or I can get
- 1:55Speaker 1: behind this, and unless I get obliterated early on, we'll
- 1:58Speaker 1: probably just ride this to the end. When it comes
- 2:01Speaker 1: to preseason betting, I have an over and an under,
- 2:03Speaker 1: both logged in the app. Do you want me to
- 2:06Speaker 1: give you my reasoning as to why I've found a
- 2:09Speaker 1: really strong trend surrounding a certain number. But before I
- 2:14Speaker 1: get to that, have you placed anything as far as
- 2:17Speaker 1: preseason betting or will you just be sitting back trying
- 2:20Speaker 1: to adjust your fantasy rankings.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It is my lunch hour to do list. I'm going
- 2:25Speaker 2: to shove a waffle in my mouth and look at
- 2:28Speaker 2: all of the numbers for this evening. I thought I
- 2:30Speaker 2: had to work tonight, so I was like, gosh, shit,
- 2:32Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be able to like sweat anything. This
- 2:33Speaker 2: is going to suck. And then I realized that I
- 2:35Speaker 2: had the wrong date in my calendar and the event
- 2:37Speaker 2: that I have to go to is tomorrow. So now
- 2:40Speaker 2: I'm like, sweet, I get to get fat on my
- 2:41Speaker 2: couch tonight. That rules might as well sweat something.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Absolutely and we start there. Now. I don't think that
- 2:47Speaker 1: you should just place bets simply for the sweat, do
- 2:50Speaker 1: a little research, and then sweat it out. And I
- 2:53Speaker 1: know that Kendro would rubber stamp that under thirty seven
- 2:56Speaker 1: and a half on Lions Bengals over thirty six and
- 3:00Speaker 1: a half on Chargers Texans. Since twenty ten, the number
- 3:05Speaker 1: thirty seven has been the key benchmark in terms of totals.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Totals that have been less than thirty seven have gone
- 3:13Speaker 1: over at a rate of fifty seven percent, and totals
- 3:17Speaker 1: that are south of thirty seven are north of thirty
- 3:21Speaker 1: seven have gone under at a rate of fifty six percent.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So if you just simply take the over on games
- 3:28Speaker 1: that have a total less than thirty six and a
- 3:31Speaker 1: half and the under on totals of more than thirty
- 3:34Speaker 1: seven and a half, then you will be profitable or.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Do you mean under in the Chargers game?
- 3:41Speaker 1: I have the over in the Chargers game?
- 3:42Speaker 2: Okay?
- 3:43Speaker 1: Good?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I was gonna say, is it dj Leungla late tonight?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Well? I usually we end up getting a little bit
- 3:49Speaker 1: of east and stick in there if the if the
- 3:52Speaker 1: histories tell me anything, but let's see Dju and Trey
- 3:57Speaker 1: Lance will be the guys that we'll see rifling passes
- 4:01Speaker 1: for the Chargers gone or the day.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Now?
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So what I really like the idea of betting
- 4:10Speaker 1: on Mike McDaniel to show some cards early on in
- 4:18Speaker 1: terms of getting that offense up to speed. So something, yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: podbat over thirty six and a half on who the
- 4:28Speaker 1: hell are they playing again? Chargers Texans for tonight. The
- 4:32Speaker 1: Texans have a lot to prove offensively as well. So
- 4:34Speaker 1: these are two teams that I think offensively the best
- 4:40Speaker 1: of the foot, the best foot How might I want
- 4:43Speaker 1: to How am I trying to say this?
- 4:44Speaker 2: The best foot forward?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Thank you very much? Jayden Daniels, spokesperson informed the LSU
- 4:51Speaker 1: Tigers that they will be issuing a cease and desist
- 4:55Speaker 1: order after the university allowed cornerback DJ pick It to
- 5:00Speaker 1: wear the number five. The look on your face, that's
- 5:04Speaker 1: the same number there.
- 5:05Speaker 2: His representative is definitely his fucking mom. And also, who
- 5:10Speaker 2: do you think you are?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Like?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Who do you think you are? You're not Joe Burrow
- 5:15Speaker 2: you I've had enough. I want to love him, but
- 5:20Speaker 2: his mom is annoying. He's pissing me off. You are
- 5:24Speaker 2: not even an NFL superstar and you're the LSU Tigers.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Do you know how many iconic people have been to
- 5:30Speaker 2: and played at that school? Like, you're not even the
- 5:33Speaker 2: most famous person to come out of there in the
- 5:35Speaker 2: last five years. You're not Lily Done, You're not Paul Skins.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Shut up and sit down and do something at work
- 5:40Speaker 2: and maybe we can have this conversation. Get your mom
- 5:42Speaker 2: off the field, have her stop bullying your girlfriend. Sit
- 5:45Speaker 2: down and shut up. This is making me so angry.
- 5:49Speaker 1: In order to have the perspective that Kendra has on this,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you only have to watch the show Quarterback on Netflix
- 5:56Speaker 1: for about two and a half minutes. I promise you.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels had nothing to do with this. This man
- 6:04Speaker 1: lets his mom run his life. Everything outside of the
- 6:09Speaker 1: lines on the football field, his mom is in charge
- 6:13Speaker 1: of She is the boss lady to the most obnoxious degree.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And seeing this news story come down, you know as
- 6:23Speaker 1: a certainty fact that she had everything to do with it.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Your representation is your mother. And I can't say anything
- 6:30Speaker 2: because I also have a mamager, But like, get a grip.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You're a grown ass man. You're a grown man. Do
- 6:37Speaker 2: you know how this makes your teammates and other people
- 6:39Speaker 2: look at you like, no offense. I love my mom,
- 6:42Speaker 2: My mom rules like, but you are a grown man
- 6:46Speaker 2: at work.
- 6:47Speaker 1: There is you know, not to turn this into a
- 6:50Speaker 1: sexist direction, but I do think that there's a difference
- 6:53Speaker 1: in the way that we judge men who allow their moms,
- 6:57Speaker 1: even as adults, to run their lives. There's just something
- 7:02Speaker 1: that is I don't know.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I kind of look at Dia in the same way
- 7:05Speaker 2: with the way that he acts with Shador and the
- 7:07Speaker 2: ball Dad. I look at them all the same. You
- 7:11Speaker 2: need to let go of your child. They're an adult.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Stop micromanaging them.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Find a hobby, got the umbilical cord, do your own thing.
- 7:20Speaker 2: They're gonna talk dry.
- 7:23Speaker 1: We're gonna talk AFC South with Jamal Saint Sear Jags, Texans, Colts,
- 7:30Speaker 1: Titans will dig into the best bets for each division participants.
- 7:34Speaker 1: In just a moment, Let's take a closer look at
- 7:37Speaker 1: the AFC South of division that has been dominated by
- 7:41Speaker 1: the Jags and Texans since twenty twenty two. The last
- 7:45Speaker 1: time one of these teams did not win the division
- 7:47Speaker 1: it was the Titans in twenty twenty one, and it
- 7:49Speaker 1: looks like we're shaping up to end this season in
- 7:52Speaker 1: a very similar way. We'll see what the crew thinks
- 7:54Speaker 1: about that one. Let's welcome in our guests on this
- 7:58Speaker 1: fine Thursday, Jamal Saint Cyr's sports anchor for WJXT four
- 8:03Speaker 1: in Duvall County, Jamal Welcome. Kendrick could not be more
- 8:08Speaker 1: excited to talk about her Jags. We are going to
- 8:09Speaker 1: cover the other teams in the division, but you know,
- 8:12Speaker 1: obviously some extra focus on them. What's up, Jamal, Well.
- 8:14Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 8:15Speaker 4: Appreciate y'all having me on. Look the AFC South has
- 8:17Speaker 4: been fun. Love covering Jaguars. Kendra was the queen of
- 8:22Speaker 4: Jags Twitter for a little while, so I mean in
- 8:24Speaker 4: a little while. You don't ever lose the crown. You
- 8:28Speaker 4: don't never lose the crown.
- 8:31Speaker 1: All right, maintaining queen status on Elon's Twitter sphere. Let's
- 8:37Speaker 1: get the vibe check on the division in terms of
- 8:40Speaker 1: we've been doing this with every division in the NFL,
- 8:43Speaker 1: or well, this is we're under division four of our
- 8:46Speaker 1: preview episodes. Where does the AFC South rank in terms
- 8:51Speaker 1: of the hierarchy, not of quality. We're talking intrigue. How
- 8:57Speaker 1: interesting is the AFC seved? This is a division of
- 9:02Speaker 1: wye de variance. Yeah, it's all over the place.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I mean, I feel like you got three teams that
- 9:07Speaker 4: all probably feel decent about themselves going into the season.
- 9:11Speaker 3: The Titans are still.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Well, like in the middle of a rebuild, so we'll
- 9:15Speaker 4: just not worry about them too much. But the Colts
- 9:18Speaker 4: are gonna be like, Hey, we were rolling before Daniel
- 9:20Speaker 4: Jones got hurt. We got him back healthy, We're good
- 9:22Speaker 4: to go. The Texans have one of the best defenses
- 9:25Speaker 4: in the league, so it doesn't get too much better
- 9:27Speaker 4: than that. The Jaguars won thirteen games a year ago,
- 9:29Speaker 4: felt like they kind of had some meat still on
- 9:32Speaker 4: the bone and want to pick right back up where
- 9:33Speaker 4: they left off. So I mean there's a whole lot
- 9:36Speaker 4: of questions for all three of those teams that are
- 9:38Speaker 4: kind of vying for.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Is Daniel Jones healthy? Can CIJ.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Stroud remember what it was like when he was a
- 9:43Speaker 4: rookie and sling the football around? And can Trevor Lawrence
- 9:47Speaker 4: pick up where he left off last season and play
- 9:49Speaker 4: a whole season like that?
- 9:50Speaker 3: I mean, so all.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Three of these teams feel good going into a year,
- 9:53Speaker 4: but all three of them have big time questions for sure.
- 9:56Speaker 1: And there's the Titans out there that are going through
- 10:00Speaker 1: they're going through a change they never know with you know,
- 10:04Speaker 1: second year of cam Ward he could take a big leap,
- 10:06Speaker 1: new offensive coordinator, new head coach, Ken Drive. I believe
- 10:09Speaker 1: this is number one on your list if I remember.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Correctly, the Titans, no.
- 10:14Speaker 1: The just the division as a whole.
- 10:16Speaker 2: In terms of your no jah.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I remember this correctly, right of course. Yes, it was
- 10:24Speaker 1: the as we labeled them on the last episode, the
- 10:26Speaker 1: drunkest division in predictable.
- 10:30Speaker 2: And we've been talking about intrigue. And I know that
- 10:32Speaker 2: most people don't care about the NFC South, but it's
- 10:35Speaker 2: going to be the most unpredictable, and to me that's intriguing.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I think if the NFC South is the drunkest division,
- 10:42Speaker 1: the AFC South I've deemed them the designated driver division,
- 10:47Speaker 1: like this would be more they're more DD.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think Jacksonville, Nashville, Houston, and
- 10:54Speaker 2: Indianapolis really fit the vibe of being well yahd driver.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But the cities are team that almost instead of playing
- 11:02Speaker 2: in Disney World, played at the Daytona five hundred.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I know, yeah, and city wise that doesn't make a
- 11:08Speaker 1: lot of sense. But in terms of predictability, I think
- 11:10Speaker 1: that if this division or to lay out predictably, it
- 11:15Speaker 1: would be the Jags or Texans, separated by a game
- 11:20Speaker 1: at the end of the year, followed by the Colts,
- 11:22Speaker 1: followed by the Titans. There's wide variants, of course, because
- 11:27Speaker 1: some of these teams could take big leaps forward, like Tennessee.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Some could really crash back down to earth like Indianapolis.
- 11:33Speaker 1: But I think this division sets up to be if
- 11:38Speaker 1: one of the more predictable jamal are the Texans rightful favorites,
- 11:42Speaker 1: though because the Jags won thirteen games last year, they
- 11:47Speaker 1: return a lot of the same pieces. There's continuity there
- 11:50Speaker 1: something Trevor Lawrence rarely has. Do you think the Texans
- 11:53Speaker 1: are the best team in the division as we enter
- 11:56Speaker 1: into the preview?
- 11:57Speaker 4: I mean, look, it's tough to like war the Texans,
- 12:00Speaker 4: right That defense is elite, it's stacked, But the Jaguars.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Are kind of holding the crown from last year. We'll see.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I can understand why you say the Texans would be
- 12:11Speaker 4: the favorite and why a lot of people see it
- 12:13Speaker 4: that way.
- 12:14Speaker 3: But I mean, if you watch CJ.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Stroud play ball in the playoffs, that'd be enough of
- 12:18Speaker 4: a selling point for a question mark for me as
- 12:21Speaker 4: to you know, what they can do, but that defense
- 12:23Speaker 4: can probably carry them. But people still look at the
- 12:26Speaker 4: Jaguars the way they did a couple of years ago,
- 12:29Speaker 4: and this isn't exactly the same team. They've done a
- 12:33Speaker 4: whole lot of work to flip this roster. Liam Cohen
- 12:35Speaker 4: has a whole different energy in that building. They have
- 12:38Speaker 4: a whole different mentality and different expectations. So I mean
- 12:41Speaker 4: I'd say, hey, you want it last year, you should
- 12:44Speaker 4: be the favorite going in to retain your title.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That's how I'd look at it.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Is there any concern for you for the no excuses
- 12:54Speaker 2: aspect of CJ. Stroud, we were at one point during
- 12:58Speaker 2: a playoff game last year a disc sing whether he
- 13:00Speaker 2: should be put on the bench or not. They make
- 13:02Speaker 2: a lot of moves on the offensive line and he's
- 13:04Speaker 2: getting his favorite target back. Are there any excuses for him?
- 13:07Speaker 2: Or is it do or die?
- 13:09Speaker 4: I think he's got to do it. I think he's
- 13:11Speaker 4: got to do it. I mean, he when he was
- 13:13Speaker 4: great as a rookie, but since then it's kind of
- 13:17Speaker 4: just tailored off and he's been terrible. So I think
- 13:20Speaker 4: it's at that point where it's do or die, where
- 13:22Speaker 4: you're running out of the excuses. I mean, you got
- 13:24Speaker 4: that good of a defense. Their Super Bowl windows should
- 13:28Speaker 4: be open right now.
- 13:29Speaker 3: And I mean c J.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Strauss out there, terrible, terrible in the playoffs. The defense
- 13:34Speaker 4: did everything they could to keep him in the game.
- 13:36Speaker 4: So I think he's out of them. I think he's
- 13:38Speaker 4: got to go and do it. I mean he's even
- 13:39Speaker 4: cut the hair, so I mean, I don't know if
- 13:41Speaker 4: that changes the vibes or not, but if it works.
- 13:43Speaker 3: It works.
- 13:44Speaker 2: How long is the leash?
- 13:47Speaker 4: That's tough because last year when they put Davis Mills in,
- 13:50Speaker 4: he had him rolling a little bit. He was playing
- 13:52Speaker 4: better ball than what they saw from CJ a lot,
- 13:55Speaker 4: So I think they'll give him a decently long leash
- 13:58Speaker 4: because they don't want to go back to Davis because
- 14:00Speaker 4: you kind of know.
- 14:01Speaker 3: What he is.
- 14:03Speaker 4: But at some point, if CJ didn't have it, there's
- 14:07Speaker 4: gonna have to be a tough conversation because if not,
- 14:09Speaker 4: they're gonna be looking at Coach Ryan's like, hey, buddy,
- 14:12Speaker 4: if you can't make this decision, we'll find somebody who can.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I'm glad that Kendra started with the Texans because that
- 14:19Speaker 1: is where I wanted to kick off our individual team previews.
- 14:23Speaker 1: They have never gotten out of the divisional round in
- 14:27Speaker 1: the history of this franchise. It doesn't date back that long,
- 14:30Speaker 1: but they're oh to seven in their franchise's history indivisional
- 14:34Speaker 1: round games. So it's very clear what they're trying to do,
- 14:36Speaker 1: which is to break that trend. They've got the top
- 14:39Speaker 1: flight defense, as we mentioned, many consider the Texans defense
- 14:42Speaker 1: to be the top unit in the NFL. The question
- 14:45Speaker 1: is do they have enough to overcome some of the
- 14:49Speaker 1: holes offensively. You had twenty seven sacks last year from
- 14:54Speaker 1: Will Anderson and daneil Hunter. It feels like there's so
- 14:57Speaker 1: many teams with obvious question marks. The defense has won
- 15:01Speaker 1: Jamal that we just I don't even know if we
- 15:04Speaker 1: need to spend time on it because there's just it's
- 15:06Speaker 1: an obvious that this defense is going to be elite?
- 15:09Speaker 1: Is it enough to carry them? Though?
- 15:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 15:12Speaker 4: Look, that defense is that good. I mean you're talking
- 15:14Speaker 4: about them. Leave off that they've got Stingley back there,
- 15:18Speaker 4: who is the elite at corner. I mean that.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Defense is absolutely stacked.
- 15:23Speaker 4: And you know what, they should be better offensively than
- 15:27Speaker 4: they are when you've got a wide receiver like Nico
- 15:29Speaker 4: Collins who's really good.
- 15:30Speaker 3: But we'll see their big.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Offensive move is adding David Montgomery to that backfield? Does
- 15:36Speaker 4: that help add more juice than what they had? And
- 15:38Speaker 4: Nick Chubb absolutely, But that defense should be good enough
- 15:42Speaker 4: to carry them. The big question is does the offense
- 15:45Speaker 4: let them down? I mean that's what happened to them
- 15:48Speaker 4: late in the season and a lot of the games
- 15:50Speaker 4: last year with the offense just wasn't good enough.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Does this give you twenty seventeen Jacksonville Jaguars, Saxonville and
- 15:57Speaker 2: Blake Bortles vibes where that defense will it's just, in
- 16:01Speaker 2: my biased opinion, probably a top five defense we ever
- 16:04Speaker 2: saw jail at that point in the season, and Blake
- 16:08Speaker 2: Bortles just somehow being a wanna be construction worker getting
- 16:12Speaker 2: it done. Does it have to be that type of
- 16:14Speaker 2: season and that type of run for this Texans team.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah, CJ is better than Blake Bortles was. Let's put
- 16:21Speaker 1: some respect on CJ.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Okay, how many AFC Championships games has CJ Stroudben too?
- 16:27Speaker 1: I mean that's fair, that's fair. I'll just see if
- 16:29Speaker 1: you're given me the two, I'm gonna take CJ every
- 16:32Speaker 1: day of the week.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna take cigarettes and construction.
- 16:39Speaker 4: He's the boat for a reason, right, But the vibes
- 16:42Speaker 4: do match. You're right. They went and got their learn
- 16:45Speaker 4: four Nette and David Montgomery. They just need CJ straut
- 16:47Speaker 4: to try and be Blake Bortles. They've got the Saxonville.
- 16:50Speaker 4: When you start talking about Danil Hunter and Will Anderson,
- 16:54Speaker 4: you've got your Jalen Ramsey and Stingley on.
- 16:56Speaker 3: The back end.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I mean it, You're right, it's there, the need that
- 17:00Speaker 4: kind of run where it's just like, Okay, can CJ
- 17:03Speaker 4: play just good enough ball? To not get in the
- 17:05Speaker 4: way of what we're doing defensively is kind of where
- 17:08Speaker 4: they're at, Like, Hey, he can't be this bad, right.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I'm just blown away. I get that the guy threw
- 17:15Speaker 1: four interceptions in a half against the New England Patriots.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I was watching that game too, guys, But Blake Pordoles.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Was never questioned to be benched in the playoffs.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I'm just saying he's three years into his career. Two
- 17:27Speaker 1: of the years he was really good. Last year was
- 17:29Speaker 1: a step back, and then he was terrible in the playoffs.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And I think kenjer brought up a really good point
- 17:35Speaker 1: as far as getting the top target back, not necessarily
- 17:38Speaker 1: the top target that's Nico Collins, but his favorite target,
- 17:41Speaker 1: Tank Dell not playing last year and CJ. Stroud taking
- 17:45Speaker 1: a step backwards. I think those two things are correlated.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Tank Dell took a massive step in the right direction
- 17:52Speaker 1: in terms of his recovery. He actually caught a touchdown
- 17:54Speaker 1: pass in practice the other day. He looks smooth. This
- 17:57Speaker 1: could be the under the radar guy for the Texans
- 18:00Speaker 1: or if he is able to stay on the field. Jamal,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I've got a lot more faith that that offense can
- 18:06Speaker 1: be good enough, and Stroud can be a lot closer
- 18:09Speaker 1: to Let's see, let's pick a requisite quarterback Jared Goff
- 18:14Speaker 1: than he is Blake Bortles, a.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Little Jared Goff. Okay, they could make that work.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Look I see Jared Goff at him.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I could see that. I could see that.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Look Tank Dell's good. The question with him is Kenny
- 18:24Speaker 4: stay healthy?
- 18:25Speaker 3: Right?
- 18:25Speaker 4: I mean, that's been the knock. When he's played, he's
- 18:28Speaker 4: been great, and that is CJ. Stroud's go to guy,
- 18:31Speaker 4: a security blanket. But at this point it's also not
- 18:34Speaker 4: even just Kenny stay healthy. How much juice does he
- 18:36Speaker 4: have left?
- 18:37Speaker 3: Because we have.
- 18:38Speaker 4: It's been so long, so many injuries have kind of
- 18:40Speaker 4: stacked up on the sky. He's undersized. His thing was
- 18:44Speaker 4: his quick, twitchy nature. Does he still have that same
- 18:47Speaker 4: twitch that he had before the injuries kind of stacked
- 18:50Speaker 4: up and sidelined him for so long? So, I mean,
- 18:52Speaker 4: we'll see. But they do have some good guys on
- 18:54Speaker 4: that on that roster. I mean, Nico Collins is elite.
- 18:57Speaker 4: He is absolutely elite. And then those wide receivers that
- 19:00Speaker 4: they drafted from Iowa State, Higgins, He's really good. He
- 19:04Speaker 4: started to come on for the Texans late last season,
- 19:06Speaker 4: and he's a guy that should take another big step
- 19:08Speaker 4: forward for him.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Final question for me on the Texans. I think the
- 19:12Speaker 2: ceiling for them is thirteen and four, in the floor
- 19:15Speaker 2: is nine and eight. What's more likely in your opinion.
- 19:19Speaker 4: I'd say that the thirteen's probably more likely. The thirteen's
- 19:24Speaker 4: probably more likely. That Texans team is good. I think
- 19:27Speaker 4: coach Ryan's is one of the best in the league.
- 19:29Speaker 4: He's going to get the most out of that defense.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Even if CJ reverted back to where he was at
- 19:34Speaker 4: like the worst of the worst, that defense is going
- 19:37Speaker 4: to drag him along. So I think the Texans are
- 19:40Speaker 4: going to be in for good a good season. Thirteen
- 19:42Speaker 4: wins seems about right over where they could be, and
- 19:45Speaker 4: David Montgomery still got some juice and that's an upgrade
- 19:47Speaker 4: at running back from them from where they were a
- 19:49Speaker 4: year ago big time.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Their leading rusher last year was Woody Marx, who barely
- 19:53Speaker 1: cracked seven hundred yards. This is something that they need
- 19:57Speaker 1: in that offense to help the slightly above average quarterback
- 20:02Speaker 1: in CJ. Stroud. Their win total sitting at nine and
- 20:04Speaker 1: a half, I do think the over on the Texans
- 20:06Speaker 1: would be a smart bet, Kendra, best way to bet
- 20:10Speaker 1: the Houston Texans? And have you done so already in
- 20:14Speaker 1: any form?
- 20:16Speaker 2: I refuse to bet anything in this division for religious purposes,
- 20:23Speaker 2: but I think that if you're going to probably coach
- 20:25Speaker 2: of the year, is the way that I would look.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Okay, I like that on Demiko Ryans, I have already
- 20:30Speaker 1: bet the Texans plus one and a half against Buffalo
- 20:33Speaker 1: in Week one at home. This is something that Evan
- 20:36Speaker 1: Abrams and I tracked and targeted when the schedules came out,
- 20:39Speaker 1: so that one is already in the app And this
- 20:43Speaker 1: is not on purpose, Guys, I've become the CJ. Stroud
- 20:45Speaker 1: guy all of a sudden. But I think his over
- 20:47Speaker 1: on passing yards three and forty nine passing yards, the
- 20:52Speaker 1: over to me is in play. With Tank Dell back
- 20:55Speaker 1: an improved offensive line, this should be attainable. He hit
- 20:58Speaker 1: this in his prior to his.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Parents, walking into the first day of training camp in
- 21:03Speaker 2: those shorts, and you're betting on this man.
- 21:06Speaker 1: No, that was not his swaggiest moment. Let's move on
- 21:10Speaker 1: to Els. Let's move on to the most Jekyl and
- 21:13Speaker 1: Hide team of twenty twenty five, The Indianapolis Colts a
- 21:18Speaker 1: seven and one start, and then they finished going one
- 21:21Speaker 1: in eight down the stretch. And this perfectly coincided with
- 21:25Speaker 1: two things. One, they overperformed to start the year. Even
- 21:28Speaker 1: if they had stayed healthy, they were going to fall
- 21:30Speaker 1: off to a degree. Two Danny Dimes went down, and
- 21:34Speaker 1: they also dealt with injuries to their secondary Tarvarius Ward
- 21:38Speaker 1: only played seven games. Sauce Gardner, who they acquired from
- 21:41Speaker 1: the Jets, only played in four games after they brought
- 21:43Speaker 1: him in on that deal. It's basically win or blow
- 21:47Speaker 1: it up for the Indianapolis Colts. Chris Ballard did not
- 21:49Speaker 1: have his contract extended as the GM and I would
- 21:52Speaker 1: think that Shane Steichen has been given fair shake. He
- 21:56Speaker 1: was hired in twenty twenty three. If it doesn't work out,
- 21:59Speaker 1: I think they probably clean house. Are you with that
- 22:02Speaker 1: sort of mindset, Jamal?
- 22:05Speaker 4: Yeah, Look, I think it's at that point for sure
- 22:07Speaker 4: where you've made these moves. You've gone your jettison Michael
- 22:11Speaker 4: Pittman Junior to let him roll out. You bring in
- 22:15Speaker 4: Sauce Gardner last season. Yeah, if it doesn't work, you
- 22:19Speaker 4: got to make some drastic things and hit the reset button.
- 22:22Speaker 4: I mean The question is who is Danny Dimes. Is
- 22:25Speaker 4: he the guy that we saw from the Giants most
- 22:28Speaker 4: of his career. Is it the guy that had the
- 22:30Speaker 4: one decent year in New York? Or is it the
- 22:31Speaker 4: guy that was playing like lights out ball to start
- 22:34Speaker 4: last season before the injury. So somewhere in there is
- 22:37Speaker 4: the reality of who Daniel Jones is and that's kind
- 22:40Speaker 4: of going to be determining a lot of jobs.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Do you think that there is any chance that we
- 22:46Speaker 2: see someone other than Daniel Jones this year? I know
- 22:49Speaker 2: that they have really put all of their eggs in
- 22:51Speaker 2: one basket with him, but I've heard some rumblings of
- 22:54Speaker 2: maybe Anthony Richardson getting traded. Riley Leonard was about as
- 22:58Speaker 2: serviceable as I think Anthony Richard and would be for
- 23:01Speaker 2: them in that offense. Do you think that they're committed
- 23:03Speaker 2: to Daniel Jones? Once again, we're talking about how long
- 23:05Speaker 2: is the leash here, but he's coming back from a
- 23:08Speaker 2: pretty insane injury, And to be honest, their schedule is
- 23:12Speaker 2: one of the tougher ones in the division. They start
- 23:14Speaker 2: out with the Ravens, the Chiefs, the Texans, Commanders, Steelers
- 23:18Speaker 2: get a little bit of a break and then they're
- 23:19Speaker 2: just right back in the thick of it. So it
- 23:23Speaker 2: might be tough sledding off the rip, which makes me
- 23:25Speaker 2: concerned for Daniel jones longevity as a starter.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I'm with you.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I was skeptical when they started saying he was going
- 23:32Speaker 4: to be ready to go to start the season. I
- 23:33Speaker 4: mean that at Achilles injury, those are things you don't
- 23:36Speaker 4: want to rush back from. I mean, Indianapolis should know
- 23:39Speaker 4: all about like not rushing back from Achilles injuries. I mean,
- 23:42Speaker 4: they've had a tough spring of them, especially when you
- 23:45Speaker 4: start talking about like Tyrese Haliburton for the Pacers. So
- 23:49Speaker 4: I don't know, is there a chance that he goes
- 23:51Speaker 4: out there and gets hurt again? Sure, I don't know
- 23:53Speaker 4: if it's Anthony Richardson, though I think that boat has
- 23:56Speaker 4: sailed at.
- 23:58Speaker 2: He's partially blind.
- 24:01Speaker 3: I can at least say you can see because I've
- 24:03Speaker 3: seen it.
- 24:03Speaker 4: He's been working out here in Jacksonville over the course
- 24:05Speaker 4: of the offseason, so I've seen him at least throw
- 24:08Speaker 4: some passes.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I'll put that no fear on locked with the breaking
- 24:12Speaker 2: your orbital bone with the.
- 24:14Speaker 1: You're really worried about this.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Resistance ban two episodes in a row. Now it genuinely
- 24:23Speaker 2: I fear for my life every time I use a
- 24:25Speaker 2: workout band.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Now, he's that happened to that?
- 24:31Speaker 1: That is, and he got injured in college if I
- 24:33Speaker 1: remember correctly, doing a TikTok dance, So he doesn't have
- 24:36Speaker 1: the best injury history. Looked that up. That's a real story.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Nobody, by the way, nobody tries to bench quarterbacks faster
- 24:44Speaker 1: than Kendrick Middleton. This is now back to back teams
- 24:46Speaker 1: or you're benching the quarterback.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Well, there's legitimate questions, Okay, don't anyways, I would like
- 24:55Speaker 2: to handicap Jonathan Taylor. I ask myself every single when
- 25:01Speaker 2: will him and Derrick Henry finally look old? Is it
- 25:05Speaker 2: a year to continue to hitch myself to the Jonathan
- 25:08Speaker 2: Taylor whether it's you know, betting or fantasy or whatever
- 25:11Speaker 2: wagon or do we think that we finally see him
- 25:13Speaker 2: start to look maybe his age.
- 25:15Speaker 4: No, hitch the trailer to JT. Hitch the trailer to JT.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Jonathan Taylor is still elite. He's gonna be carrying that offense.
- 25:24Speaker 4: I have full belief in that that offensive line is
- 25:28Speaker 4: a solid bunch too. That's What helped Daniel Jones a
- 25:31Speaker 4: lot last season is Indy did a good job at
- 25:34Speaker 4: building that offensive line and that's helped Jonathan Taylor a lot.
- 25:37Speaker 4: I think Jonathan Taylor is going to keep on rolling.
- 25:39Speaker 4: The biggest question for that offense is just is Daniel
- 25:42Speaker 4: Jones able to stay healthy? Is he ready to go
- 25:44Speaker 4: to start the year and can he play the way
- 25:47Speaker 4: he did the beginning of last season.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Yeah. And the one of the things that I think
- 25:53Speaker 1: is forgotten about with Daniel Jones is that he was
- 25:55Speaker 1: He was in the MVP debate midway through the season,
- 25:58Speaker 1: even if we sort of forced him in there. But
- 26:00Speaker 1: he also had a fracture in his fibula in November,
- 26:04Speaker 1: played through it, and then he ruptured his achilles. This
- 26:10Speaker 1: guy was already battling an injury. I don't know if
- 26:13Speaker 1: one led to the other. I'm not a doctor, but
- 26:15Speaker 1: the guy is tough as nails, and I do think
- 26:17Speaker 1: it speaks well to him that he's trying to come
- 26:19Speaker 1: back this quickly. Another piece to this offense that we
- 26:22Speaker 1: should discuss is that Michael Pittman has gone. He's been
- 26:24Speaker 1: their number one wide receiver for years now. They gave
- 26:27Speaker 1: Alec Pierce the most ludicrous contract for any wide receiver
- 26:31Speaker 1: in the NFL. Four years, one hundred and fourteen million
- 26:33Speaker 1: dollars for a guy who has never been a number one.
- 26:37Speaker 1: They still have Josh Downs. We love Tyler Warren, are
- 26:40Speaker 1: they too JT reliant? Though with now Michael Pittman gone.
- 26:45Speaker 4: I think Josh Downs is the guy who's gonna eat.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I really do.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Josh Downs has been really good when he's gotten chances,
- 26:51Speaker 4: and I think this is just going to open up
- 26:53Speaker 4: a little bit more volume for him. Alec Pierce is
- 26:56Speaker 4: one of those guys that shows up from at times.
- 26:58Speaker 4: I mean I can think back to some a couple
- 27:01Speaker 4: of Jaguars Colts games where Alec Pearce put the Colts
- 27:04Speaker 4: on that is back in the fourth quarter, just scoreing touchdown.
- 27:07Speaker 3: He just hasn't been able to consistently do it.
- 27:09Speaker 4: But I think Josh Downs is the guy in that
- 27:12Speaker 4: offense that I think is gonna be the big beneficiary
- 27:14Speaker 4: of Pittman being gone, where he's gonna eat underneath and
- 27:17Speaker 4: like be able to turn some of that stuff up
- 27:19Speaker 4: as long as he can stay healthy.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Christian Kirk deserves an apology for the amount of shit
- 27:23Speaker 2: that he got for that contract.
- 27:25Speaker 4: All right?
- 27:25Speaker 2: Arden Key really doing a tour of the AFC South.
- 27:29Speaker 2: He is an Indianapolis colt. Now this defense on paper
- 27:33Speaker 2: looks like it should be beyond serviceable. What are your
- 27:36Speaker 2: expectations for them? Are they going to have to pull
- 27:38Speaker 2: more than their weight to keep this team in any
- 27:40Speaker 2: sort of conversation this season?
- 27:42Speaker 4: I mean, they were playing lights out ball defensively last year.
- 27:45Speaker 4: I think they'll be fine. I don't know that they're
- 27:47Speaker 4: going to be an elite group. You know you're depending
- 27:50Speaker 4: on sauce Gardener at corner. Whenever you invest that heavily
- 27:54Speaker 4: in a corner and all the other pieces aren't already
- 27:57Speaker 4: together on the defense, you start asking questions because you're like, look,
- 28:00Speaker 4: he's not just gonna revolutionize what you do defensively, But
- 28:04Speaker 4: I think.
- 28:04Speaker 3: There'll be a decent group.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Arden Key definitely has been around everywhere at this point, still.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Has no keys to the city.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Change the city, change the culture everywhere in the AFC South.
- 28:18Speaker 1: He took the words right out of my mouth and
- 28:19Speaker 1: the way that you describe the Indianapolis cults. I have
- 28:22Speaker 1: a note here on my computer that says nice pieces,
- 28:25Speaker 1: not elite. DeForest Buckner is old. I like their secondary.
- 28:31Speaker 1: We don't really get a good read of them last
- 28:33Speaker 1: year because they were so banged up. It's like the
- 28:34Speaker 1: undertold story everybody talks about Daniel Jones. Their secondary was
- 28:38Speaker 1: ravaged with injuries as well. Zay R. Franklin has gone.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I think anytime a team loses their captain on defense,
- 28:44Speaker 1: I worry a little bit. But like i to lot
- 28:46Speaker 1: To is one of my favorite defensive players in the league.
- 28:50Speaker 1: What is the best case scenario for them? I think
- 28:52Speaker 1: when I talk about variants with this division, I'm mostly
- 28:56Speaker 1: talking about them because I really don't know if is
- 29:00Speaker 1: the ceiling and the floor is it all that different
- 29:03Speaker 1: with this team or are they basically like ceilings nine
- 29:06Speaker 1: to eight floors eight and nine.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm probably right about there. They're good enough that
- 29:11Speaker 4: they're not just going to fall off a cliff. But
- 29:15Speaker 4: I mean, best case scenario, everybody stays healthy, Jonathan Taylor
- 29:19Speaker 4: has like a crazy year, What does that get you?
- 29:22Speaker 4: Maybe ten wins? Maybe ten like on the all schedule.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Man, That is, if they get to the playoffs and
- 29:31Speaker 1: don't get embarrassed. Let's say it's a wild card exit,
- 29:34Speaker 1: but it's a fun game. Is that enough we talk.
- 29:36Speaker 1: We opened the conversation with them talking about the coach
- 29:39Speaker 1: and the GM. Is that enough to preserve jobs in
- 29:41Speaker 1: Indianapolis with the way the roster is constructed. I think
- 29:45Speaker 1: the answer is yes. But I'm curious what you think
- 29:47Speaker 1: on that.
- 29:48Speaker 4: I think that buy them another year. I think that
- 29:50Speaker 4: buy them another year. It would be interesting, but you know,
- 29:55Speaker 4: getting to the playoffs, especially with that team after last year,
- 29:58Speaker 4: would be at least a step in the right direction.
- 30:00Speaker 3: But I think that would buy them another year.
- 30:02Speaker 4: I don't think the seat's quite that hot just yet.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I have an interesting way to bet them, Kendram. My
- 30:06Speaker 1: favorite way to bet the Colts this year under two
- 30:09Speaker 1: and a half Divisional wins. They only had two last year.
- 30:14Speaker 1: With how good they were, they only won two games
- 30:16Speaker 1: in the division. I could see them losing to Jacksonville
- 30:19Speaker 1: and Houston two times apiece, one win against the Titans.
- 30:22Speaker 1: And we clear this with these is Carly Ersa.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Going to be on the sidelines again because she's kind
- 30:27Speaker 2: of the vibe tribe leader.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Do we like the you like the vibe that she ate?
- 30:34Speaker 2: I really yeah. She she served down on the sidelines
- 30:38Speaker 2: last year. She was locked in and Honestly, I contribute
- 30:42Speaker 2: part of their success to her being down there with
- 30:44Speaker 2: her notepad. She's kind of the Vibe tribe leader.
- 30:46Speaker 4: I'm in on the headset.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, she's kind of that girl.
- 30:51Speaker 1: As long as she's not overstepping any Any owner that
- 30:55Speaker 1: oversteps is not good for their team. Jerry Jones, I'm
- 30:58Speaker 1: talking to you. But if she's just down there just
- 31:01Speaker 1: to just to know the ins and outs of what's
- 31:03Speaker 1: going on, I respect the hell out of it.
- 31:05Speaker 2: She gives Roz from Monsters Inc.
- 31:06Speaker 4: But hot even.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Someone please on the YouTube feed throw that image up
- 31:15Speaker 1: just so for people out there can understand who Kendra
- 31:18Speaker 1: is turning into an attraction scenes like Puppetmaster.
- 31:21Speaker 2: She's in charge of the guys in the Orange Shoe
- 31:23Speaker 2: twenty two point fifty nine or whatever that is.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Carlier say, I didn't realize that that Roz was your type.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Any other way to bet the coult Skeendra before I
- 31:32Speaker 1: move on.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I just think that their schedule's too tough. I I'm
- 31:36Speaker 2: probably leaning the under here, but like I said, for
- 31:38Speaker 2: religious purposes, I try to avoid this division. You know
- 31:42Speaker 2: what Tyler warrens Steson totals, Actually.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not bad. That was a great bet. Last
- 31:47Speaker 1: year he cleared that with ease seven and a half.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Is there is their win total, and I think it
- 31:52Speaker 1: would be under nothing. Okay, let's talk about your Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 31:57Speaker 1: We pushed them towards the back of the pre for
- 32:00Speaker 1: dramatic effects. The Jags took a big leap forward last year,
- 32:06Speaker 1: thirteen wins, a division title, almost took down Josh Allen
- 32:09Speaker 1: in the wild card round. Great year one for Liam Cohen.
- 32:12Speaker 1: The Jags want consistency, Jamal. This is a franchise that
- 32:17Speaker 1: has finished in every possible position in the AFC South
- 32:22Speaker 1: for five years fourth, first, second, third, first. That's the
- 32:28Speaker 1: last five years for the Jags. This is a bipolar franchise.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I'm a believer. Should the Jags look as good in
- 32:35Speaker 1: year two under Liam Cohen as they looked in your one?
- 32:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:39Speaker 4: Look, I think this should be a very different season
- 32:43Speaker 4: for the Jaguars than they did in year one because
- 32:46Speaker 4: year one, the offense kind of limped out of the
- 32:48Speaker 4: gates a little bit, right, they were still figuring out
- 32:50Speaker 4: there was all kind of like operational issues. All that
- 32:53Speaker 4: stuff should be out the window because they kind of
- 32:55Speaker 4: figured it out late in the season.
- 32:57Speaker 3: They've got the gang back together. Thomas Junior.
- 33:00Speaker 4: I was talking to him just the other day and
- 33:01Speaker 4: he's like, man, the difference a year can make for
- 33:05Speaker 4: how I feel in this offense. You know, Parker Washington
- 33:08Speaker 4: was on fired at the end of last season. He's
- 33:10Speaker 4: picked right back up where he's left off. I think offensively,
- 33:14Speaker 4: they're gonna be good right out of the gate. So
- 33:16Speaker 4: I think the expectations should be high, and they are high,
- 33:21Speaker 4: and they they really didn't lose as much as people
- 33:24Speaker 4: are making a big deal about losing Travis Chan and
- 33:27Speaker 4: Devin Lloyd. And I know the NFL Top one hundred
- 33:29Speaker 4: ranked Devin Lloyd crazy high. I've watched Devin Lloyd his
- 33:34Speaker 4: entire career.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I ain't buying it.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Oh okay, I like I said on the last episode,
- 33:39Speaker 1: there's a reason they didn't pay this guy. Yeah. I
- 33:43Speaker 1: don't overrate his arrival in Carolina.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I have so many questions, but I am a scarred fan.
- 33:50Speaker 2: There are so many people online who have been in
- 33:53Speaker 2: and out of camp saying that this is the best
- 33:55Speaker 2: Jaguars team that has ever been assembled that they've ever seen.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I person Snowy had PTSD from when mister Kahn said that,
- 34:03Speaker 2: and they went out there and sucked ass. What are
- 34:06Speaker 2: your thoughts of this team heading into the season. Can
- 34:09Speaker 2: we get a TLDR of everything you've seen go down
- 34:12Speaker 2: on camp so far.
- 34:13Speaker 4: I don't know if they're the best team I've ever seen,
- 34:16Speaker 4: but offensively, I mean that wide receiver room is stacked,
- 34:20Speaker 4: like Parker Washington is good, Brian Thomas is good. We've
- 34:23Speaker 4: seen enough from Travis Hunter. They're gonna use him at
- 34:25Speaker 4: wide receiver. They're gonna use him at corner.
- 34:28Speaker 3: And when he's.
- 34:28Speaker 4: Out there, he's back to where he was in his
- 34:31Speaker 4: Heisman run plus muscle like. He is athletic, he's fast,
- 34:35Speaker 4: he can go out there and make plays. The biggest
- 34:37Speaker 4: question on the offense is the offensive line. They've moved
- 34:41Speaker 4: Anton Harrison from right tackle to left tackle the right
- 34:43Speaker 4: side of the offensive lines and shambles cole Van Lannon,
- 34:46Speaker 4: who was their mister do it all on the offensive
- 34:48Speaker 4: line last year.
- 34:49Speaker 3: He's still coming back.
- 34:50Speaker 4: He's on the pup list right now, So they have
- 34:52Speaker 4: no idea what they're doing on the right side of
- 34:54Speaker 4: the offensive line right now. So that's their big question there. Defensively, Look,
- 34:58Speaker 4: coach Camvini was in the last have this offseason. Okay,
- 35:02Speaker 4: he has been dialing up blitzes and absolutely like wrecking shop.
- 35:07Speaker 4: He wants them to get to the quarterback. He's got
- 35:09Speaker 4: all kinds of combinations out there. They got a lot
- 35:12Speaker 4: of guys that can do a little bit of a
- 35:14Speaker 4: lot of things, so they've been tinkering with it. I
- 35:16Speaker 4: think the defense is gonna be like way improved from
- 35:19Speaker 4: what it was a year ago.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Okay, because that's my concern. We obviously have seen campidilly
- 35:24Speaker 2: elevate these linebackers, but to be honest, the linebackers are
- 35:27Speaker 2: a big question mark for me. What position are you
- 35:31Speaker 2: the most concerned about heading into the season. I would
- 35:33Speaker 2: say running back and linebacker for me, but I will
- 35:36Speaker 2: take other opinions.
- 35:37Speaker 4: I think running back and offensive line are the two
- 35:41Speaker 4: that concern me the most, so both offensively, which is
- 35:44Speaker 4: why I I'm Liam's gonna figure out how to dial
- 35:47Speaker 4: it up offensively. Like I've seen enough from him to
- 35:50Speaker 4: know that. I mean, he's out there, man, the defense
- 35:52Speaker 4: kicked our bus today and it pisses me off, so
- 35:54Speaker 4: I know he's going right back inside to figure it out. Uh,
- 35:57Speaker 4: Liam's gonna figure out offensively Touton's good, he's.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Fast, but he's just never done it.
- 36:03Speaker 4: Chris Rodriguez is a tough runner, and he's looked good
- 36:06Speaker 4: from what we've seen as he's gotten healthy, but he
- 36:09Speaker 4: really hasn't done it in a large capacity. Offensive line's
- 36:12Speaker 4: been I mean, they're trying everybody at this point on
- 36:14Speaker 4: the right side of that offensive line to figure it out. Linebacker,
- 36:17Speaker 4: I'm not that I think Devin Lloyd that was the
- 36:20Speaker 4: career year. When he whatever he retires, that will be
- 36:23Speaker 4: the best year of his career. So you know, you
- 36:26Speaker 4: let him go to Carolina. They got a guy from
- 36:28Speaker 4: last year, Branson Combs, who was undrafted, who was a
- 36:32Speaker 4: wide receiver when he started his college career and now
- 36:35Speaker 4: he's a linebacker, so he has a great athletic ability.
- 36:39Speaker 3: They're talking to his linebacker coach.
- 36:41Speaker 4: He's like, yeah, you can see that he was a
- 36:42Speaker 4: wide receiver with the way he moves out there. His
- 36:44Speaker 4: parents played basketball, so he can jump out the gym like.
- 36:47Speaker 4: They are extremely excited for Branson Combs and he's competing
- 36:51Speaker 4: for that starting job, and I think he's the guy
- 36:53Speaker 4: who's going to ultimately win it.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I think for this team to reach their upside, which
- 36:58Speaker 1: I have bet on, so I'm in on this. But
- 37:01Speaker 1: they have to get better, as you mentioned, when it
- 37:04Speaker 1: comes to sacking the quarterback. They were twenty seventh in
- 37:08Speaker 1: sacks last year. Yeah, with thirty two and they were
- 37:12Speaker 1: in like Arizona Cardinals territory. You can't win a Super
- 37:15Speaker 1: Bowl like that. And it's puzzling to me, Jamal, because
- 37:18Speaker 1: they have It's not like, well, a lot of teams
- 37:20Speaker 1: that struggle to get after the quarterback. You look at
- 37:23Speaker 1: their edge pieces and you go, well, there you go.
- 37:25Speaker 1: You got to get better edge rushers. The Jags don't
- 37:27Speaker 1: need that. They have josh heinz Allen, they have Trayvon
- 37:30Speaker 1: Walker coming off of the edge. So why why did
- 37:33Speaker 1: this happen? How do you have guys that are that
- 37:35Speaker 1: talented that can't sack the quarterback. Is it a secondary
- 37:38Speaker 1: issue where the receivers are just too running, too wild
- 37:42Speaker 1: and free, so the edge pieces can't get to the quarterback.
- 37:46Speaker 1: What is the read on that and is this something
- 37:48Speaker 1: that can be corrected.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I think it's a little bit of a couple of things.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Trayvon, I mean he's built like an old Ford truck,
- 37:54Speaker 4: like nothing hurts this guy. But last season was the
- 37:56Speaker 4: first time in his NFL career he's dealt with injuries.
- 37:59Speaker 3: He played part of the year with a.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Cast on his wrist, he had a knee brace on
- 38:03Speaker 4: By the end of the year, he's back healthy, so
- 38:05Speaker 4: he was banged up. He had kind of started stacking
- 38:08Speaker 4: and getting better each season. He had back to back
- 38:10Speaker 4: double digitsack years before that, and last year he missed
- 38:13Speaker 4: some games when dealing with the injury, so he should
- 38:15Speaker 4: be back. And then even late last season, they started
- 38:17Speaker 4: moving around the defensive line to where he's not just
- 38:20Speaker 4: lining up on the edge anymore. He's finally getting some
- 38:22Speaker 4: passing snaps inside at defensive tackle. Josh heinz Allen is
- 38:28Speaker 4: good at impacting the quarterback. He always is near the
- 38:30Speaker 4: top of the league in pressures. He gets back there,
- 38:33Speaker 4: but the sack numbers man. He's always like that close.
- 38:37Speaker 4: He gets the quarterback hits, he gets the pressures, but
- 38:39Speaker 4: he can't quite finish the job. He had the one
- 38:42Speaker 4: major season that got in the contract, but he hadn't
- 38:45Speaker 4: been able to kind of capitalize or stack off of
- 38:48Speaker 4: that right. But they've doubled down that. They think a
- 38:51Speaker 4: big part of why they had so many pressures or
- 38:53Speaker 4: quarterback hits, and they were able to impact the quarterback
- 38:55Speaker 4: last year. But the problem was in the secondary, is
- 38:58Speaker 4: what they felt like. So they went ahead and made
- 39:00Speaker 4: the change. They let Greg Newsom go. He moved on
- 39:03Speaker 4: and went to New York. But you're gonna move Travis
- 39:06Speaker 4: Hunter to where he's gonna play more corner. I think
- 39:08Speaker 4: he's a good receiver. I think Travis Hunter is an
- 39:10Speaker 4: elite cornerback, and I mean I've seen that dating back
- 39:13Speaker 4: to last sear Just the way he moves at corners
- 39:16Speaker 4: different man and the ball skills that makes him so
- 39:18Speaker 4: good at receiver is what makes him even crazier good
- 39:21Speaker 4: at corner because he just plays it like it's, oh,
- 39:23Speaker 4: you're throwing it my way. Great, So you put him
- 39:26Speaker 4: over there where quarterbacks are gonna have to at least
- 39:28Speaker 4: think twice before they sling it his way. Buster Brown
- 39:31Speaker 4: was basically your cornerback won most of the last season,
- 39:34Speaker 4: and he played some really good ball for them. They
- 39:36Speaker 4: feel like the improvements in the secondary are gonna make
- 39:39Speaker 4: the quarterback hold the ball just that much longer, which
- 39:41Speaker 4: is gonna let them get some more sacks.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Talk to me about BTJ obviously, one of the most
- 39:47Speaker 2: electric rookie careers we've seen in quite some time. Massive
- 39:51Speaker 2: fall off last year. What should the expectations be for him?
- 39:55Speaker 2: Should it be who we saw him be as a rookie,
- 39:57Speaker 2: should it be somewhere in between who we saw last
- 39:59Speaker 2: year his rookie season house, he looked what should the
- 40:02Speaker 2: realistic expectations be of him? This year?
- 40:05Speaker 4: His rookie season was record breaking, So that's tough to
- 40:08Speaker 4: ever like top right, But BTJ can be the guy.
- 40:12Speaker 4: He can be that guy. I talked to him like
- 40:15Speaker 4: two days ago, and he was talking about how over
- 40:17Speaker 4: the offseason he changed his diet. He got more intentional
- 40:20Speaker 4: about how he works out because he wanted to prepare
- 40:23Speaker 4: his body. He said, I was just trying some stuff
- 40:25Speaker 4: and then I got to OTAs and I could feel
- 40:27Speaker 4: the difference in my body, So I said, oh, let
- 40:29Speaker 4: me keep doing this.
- 40:30Speaker 3: He looks better than I've ever seen him.
- 40:32Speaker 4: On the practice field as a rookie, his practices were
- 40:36Speaker 4: kind of messed, so we were real quiet leading up,
- 40:39Speaker 4: and then he got to the game field and turned
- 40:41Speaker 4: the lights on and was great. Last season was up
- 40:43Speaker 4: and down, right, but we keep saying it's a down year.
- 40:45Speaker 4: It was a down year for him. With eight hundred
- 40:47Speaker 4: yards like that tells you just how good everybody believes
- 40:50Speaker 4: he can be. And I think he can be better
- 40:53Speaker 4: than that. He's shown it out there on the practice field.
- 40:55Speaker 4: He looks ready to go. Last season, he did have
- 40:57Speaker 4: some injuries that he kind of kept quiet and played through.
- 40:59Speaker 4: There was a wrist injury, there was an ankle injury,
- 41:02Speaker 4: and he just was never really healthy. So like going
- 41:05Speaker 4: through this offseason, in this training camp, he's like, man,
- 41:08Speaker 4: I'm running and it's pain free again. So some of
- 41:11Speaker 4: that stuff was weighing on him last year, where like
- 41:14Speaker 4: during training camp we could see it. There were a
- 41:16Speaker 4: couple of times during training camp where he stayed on
- 41:18Speaker 4: the ground and the trainers checked on him and they
- 41:21Speaker 4: were like, oh no, he's fine, and he came back.
- 41:23Speaker 4: So he was working through some stuff all season long.
- 41:26Speaker 4: I think BTJ is going to be back in that
- 41:28Speaker 4: realm of where he was as a rookie, and the
- 41:31Speaker 4: bar is going to go back up for this guy.
- 41:33Speaker 2: All right, talk to me about the running back room.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I am really concerned about this position group. I get
- 41:40Speaker 2: the bacial Tuton probably going to be the consistent guy
- 41:44Speaker 2: that they're going to rely on. But Chris Rodriguez and
- 41:47Speaker 2: Liam Cohen seemed to have some chemistry, assuming from Kentucky days,
- 41:50Speaker 2: and I wouldn't rule out the Quinn Allen. I know
- 41:52Speaker 2: that he was more of a return guy last year,
- 41:54Speaker 2: but I could see him also making some moves up
- 41:56Speaker 2: this depth chart. What should be the expectation? Is there
- 41:59Speaker 2: any vulnerability at that starting spot? What do you think?
- 42:04Speaker 4: Look, I think Touton's the guy that has the lead
- 42:06Speaker 4: on this thing. Chris Rodriguez came in, got hurt during
- 42:09Speaker 4: the offseason, so that didn't help him. So Touton kind
- 42:12Speaker 4: of has a stranglehold on it right now, and he's.
- 42:14Speaker 3: The guy I think.
- 42:15Speaker 4: If you want to talk about like baseball, Basil Tutan
- 42:18Speaker 4: represents a home run or at least a triple. I mean,
- 42:20Speaker 4: you're talking about a guy who is your short yards
- 42:22Speaker 4: back a year ago because he's short and stocky built,
- 42:24Speaker 4: but he also has like four to three speed, so
- 42:27Speaker 4: he's the big playwaiting to happen. On the other end,
- 42:29Speaker 4: you got Chris Rodriguez, who best case scenario, what is
- 42:32Speaker 4: he maybe a double or a single? He gets you
- 42:34Speaker 4: on base and he's gonna get you rolling. But from
- 42:37Speaker 4: what I've seen from him out in training camp with
- 42:39Speaker 4: the pads on, he runs tough, he looks solid, and
- 42:42Speaker 4: like the coaching staff described him as efficient, you know
- 42:45Speaker 4: you're gonna go out there, hand him the ball. He's
- 42:47Speaker 4: gonna get exactly what's blocked, maybe an extra yard or two.
- 42:50Speaker 4: So he's gonna keep you on schedule. And that's the
- 42:52Speaker 4: type of guy that's tough to keep off the field.
- 42:54Speaker 4: We might be heading for a full on committee with
- 42:56Speaker 4: this thing, because if Chris Rodriguez can be as efficient
- 42:58Speaker 4: as the coaches think he is, he's the kind of
- 43:01Speaker 4: guy you keep giving the football to.
- 43:03Speaker 1: So I've heard.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Betting Chris Rodriguez week one at anytime on it.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I think that'll be why it'll be more than a
- 43:10Speaker 1: week one bet for you. I think we're gonna be
- 43:12Speaker 1: probably riding that to the bye week. If I had
- 43:14Speaker 1: to guess, did it bother you at all? The way
- 43:18Speaker 1: that James Gladstone drafted entering into a season where they're
- 43:22Speaker 1: supposed to be uber competitive the draft class, Sometimes it
- 43:27Speaker 1: has a big impact on a team's run to a
- 43:30Speaker 1: potential championship. Sometimes it doesn't matter. But Nate Porkacher with
- 43:35Speaker 1: a round two pick. We got a little a little
- 43:37Speaker 1: excited about this new formation of using extra tight ends
- 43:41Speaker 1: on the field. Did that bother you at all or
- 43:43Speaker 1: do you think that's not really a factor as far
- 43:45Speaker 1: as the season goes.
- 43:46Speaker 4: I don't think it's a factor for this season. I mean, realistically,
- 43:49Speaker 4: if he's tight end two and can be competent, that's
- 43:52Speaker 4: a big upgrade for this Jaguars offense because last year
- 43:55Speaker 4: their tight end two was a revolving door. I mean,
- 43:57Speaker 4: they started off the year with Hunter Long. By the
- 43:59Speaker 4: end of the year, Hunting Long wasn't even active on
- 44:01Speaker 4: game day. They bumped up Johnny Munt and Johnny Wuntz
- 44:04Speaker 4: a great tight end three. But I never want to
- 44:06Speaker 4: see a quarterback throw Johnny Munt to pass again. I'm
- 44:08Speaker 4: sorry as just.
- 44:09Speaker 3: As what it is.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Quinton Morris started the year on the practice squad. By
- 44:14Speaker 4: the end of the year he was tightened two. Right
- 44:16Speaker 4: now he's tightened four on their depth chart. They've so
- 44:19Speaker 4: they've made a massive like stride there. So if Borkicher
- 44:22Speaker 4: can come in and just be compident enough to catch
- 44:24Speaker 4: a pass, if they throw it his way and he's
- 44:26Speaker 4: open and run block, that's an upgrade for them. And honestly,
- 44:29Speaker 4: that draft glass he drafted so many guys. If he
- 44:32Speaker 4: hits on a couple of the Day three guys, nobody's
- 44:34Speaker 4: gonna talk about Nate Borkicher in the second round. I
- 44:37Speaker 4: like their receivers they got on Day three and Josh
- 44:39Speaker 4: Cameron and CJ.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Williams.
- 44:41Speaker 4: They're probably not guys that'll play much this year, but
- 44:43Speaker 4: in a year or two, I think they're gonna be
- 44:45Speaker 4: guys people are paying attention to.
- 44:47Speaker 3: So nobody's gonna even be worried about that anymore.
- 44:49Speaker 2: You want to know what's crazy. Hunter Long caught the
- 44:52Speaker 2: first touchdown of the season for a thirteen to four team,
- 44:57Speaker 2: and I would just like to say, shout out BC
- 44:59Speaker 2: Eagles and sh out the state of New Hampshire, thank
- 45:01Speaker 2: you for that one.
- 45:02Speaker 1: They catch another one as the season went. I don't
- 45:05Speaker 1: I don't remember a lot think unter long moments.
- 45:07Speaker 2: He got injured like week three or four, and that
- 45:10Speaker 2: was kind of that was kind of it for him,
- 45:11Speaker 2: But he was He had a really weird career. I
- 45:13Speaker 2: think he got drafted by Miami, went to LA came
- 45:17Speaker 2: to Jacksonville like he was all over the place.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I don't think after he got healthy again,
- 45:22Speaker 4: they never put him back in the.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Games first touch on him the season thought off.
- 45:28Speaker 1: All right, I'm not saying this just to suck up
- 45:30Speaker 1: to you guys, but I think the best way to
- 45:32Speaker 1: bet the Jags this year. I have a couple. I'll
- 45:34Speaker 1: save one for the end of the episode, but let's
- 45:37Speaker 1: go all in thirty to one to win the Super Bowl.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Those odds, to me are out of whack. When you
- 45:42Speaker 1: compare this team with other teams in the AFC, the
- 45:45Speaker 1: Chargers are seventeen to one. What's the difference. The Texans,
- 45:49Speaker 1: who I like, are eighteen to one. You have the
- 45:52Speaker 1: Jags thirty Lawrence.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Can win a playoff game. In comparison to freaking Justin Herbert,
- 45:58Speaker 2: I get.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Positive regression into terms of edge rush. Trevor Lawrence with
- 46:03Speaker 1: the second year of a good system, which we've never
- 46:06Speaker 1: seen what that looks like.
- 46:07Speaker 2: The offensive line scares me.
- 46:09Speaker 1: The line does scare me a little bit, but I
- 46:11Speaker 1: do trust sometimes what can overcome bad line play is
- 46:15Speaker 1: really good play calling.
- 46:16Speaker 2: And I do try and get somebody in here.
- 46:19Speaker 1: And Travis Hunter, speaking of f them picks, Travis Hunter
- 46:22Speaker 1: is barely a factor. Last year and now he is.
- 46:24Speaker 1: So that's my best way to bet the Jags thirty
- 46:27Speaker 1: to one to win the Bowl. What about you, Kendra?
- 46:31Speaker 2: Once again, I think the over is probably the way
- 46:35Speaker 2: that I look here. My concern, God forbid, the lack
- 46:40Speaker 2: of quarterback depth, even if he goes down for a
- 46:43Speaker 2: single play, scares the fucking shit out of me.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I was waiting for me to say religiously that you
- 46:51Speaker 1: can't bet on the No.
- 46:52Speaker 2: I love the over, but like, even if Trevor like
- 46:55Speaker 2: needs a playoff, I'm like, let's move.
- 47:02Speaker 1: To the Tennessee Titans. You know, for a minute there
- 47:05Speaker 1: under Jeff Fisher, years later with Mike Rabel, they were
- 47:08Speaker 1: the model of consistency in the NFL, but that has
- 47:12Speaker 1: flown out the window in recent years. For the fourth
- 47:16Speaker 1: straight year, they have either a new head coach or
- 47:18Speaker 1: a new general manager or both that are on the scene.
- 47:22Speaker 1: This year it's Robert Sala, who I thought never got
- 47:24Speaker 1: a fair shake with the New York Jets. I really
- 47:27Speaker 1: like their direction. I just don't love the Titans roster
- 47:30Speaker 1: compared to the other rosters within this division. So it's
- 47:34Speaker 1: hard for me to all the way by in with Tennessee.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Just because I don't think they stack up all that well. Jamal,
- 47:39Speaker 1: Are you more on the optimistic or pessimistic side when
- 47:42Speaker 1: it comes to the Tennessee Titans.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Pessimistic.
- 47:45Speaker 4: I'm more optimistic on CJ or on cam Ward than
- 47:49Speaker 4: anything else. I mean, I think the Titans roster struggles.
- 47:52Speaker 4: I think it's better than it was a year ago,
- 47:55Speaker 4: but it's still not where it needs to be. Cam
- 47:57Speaker 4: Ward was dealt such a bad hand a year ago,
- 48:00Speaker 4: and even fair, I mean, he was tossing the football
- 48:02Speaker 4: to guys that I mean shouldn't have been catching passes,
- 48:05Speaker 4: and undrafted free agents playing at wide receiver at that
- 48:07Speaker 4: point that they're leaning on. Is just a tough spot
- 48:11Speaker 4: for the Titans, and I think they're still deep in
- 48:13Speaker 4: that rebuild.
- 48:15Speaker 2: I'm on the opposite side of you here. I'm actually
- 48:18Speaker 2: a little nervous about the Titans. Do I think that
- 48:20Speaker 2: this is the best roster in the world. No, But
- 48:23Speaker 2: with the coaching and with the upgrades of weapons for
- 48:26Speaker 2: cam Ward, this gives me the vibe of a Titans
- 48:29Speaker 2: team where you gotta be careful because they might just
- 48:32Speaker 2: pop you in the mouth while you're not thinking about it.
- 48:34Speaker 2: That is my fear with them in any divisional situation.
- 48:38Speaker 2: That being said, I've mentioned that I like the upgrades
- 48:41Speaker 2: on the offense weapon wise for cam Ward. I like
- 48:44Speaker 2: the addition of gunner Helm. I loved they reached for
- 48:47Speaker 2: Carnell Tait at that spot instead of doing something that
- 48:49Speaker 2: we all expected Robert Sala to do, which was draft
- 48:52Speaker 2: someone on defense. What's your bigger concern for them here,
- 48:56Speaker 2: the offense or the defense.
- 48:59Speaker 3: I think the offen is gonna be fine.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Coach Dable going in there as the offensive coordinat, I
- 49:03Speaker 4: think he's gonna get a lot of good work out
- 49:05Speaker 4: of camp Ward. I think their defense is still a
- 49:07Speaker 4: work in progress. But you know, Robert Sala is a
- 49:10Speaker 4: defensive guy. He's going to be in the trenches with
- 49:12Speaker 4: those guys trying to get the most out of them.
- 49:14Speaker 3: So we'll see.
- 49:15Speaker 4: I don't know if they're ready to get there just yet,
- 49:18Speaker 4: but I am a huge believer in that first year
- 49:20Speaker 4: coach juice, Like, nobody knows exactly what this coaching staff
- 49:23Speaker 4: wants to do. Generally, you can come out of the
- 49:25Speaker 4: out of the gates and punch some folks in the mouth,
- 49:28Speaker 4: like you said, I mean so maybe maybe.
- 49:30Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 49:31Speaker 4: I still feel like there are maybe a year away
- 49:34Speaker 4: and they're rebuild from really being able to go out
- 49:36Speaker 4: there and compete.
- 49:37Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on Robert sala Is hiring. Do
- 49:40Speaker 2: you think that him not finding success with the Jets
- 49:43Speaker 2: says more about the Jets or do you think it
- 49:45Speaker 2: says more about Robert Salad just because he's been such
- 49:47Speaker 2: a consistent defensive guy for the forty nine ers and
- 49:51Speaker 2: the Jets obviously are the Jets. Where do you land
- 49:54Speaker 2: in the middle of those two situations.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Can it be a little bit of a both, right?
- 49:58Speaker 4: I mean sure, I think it's a little bit of both.
- 50:01Speaker 4: I think there are guys that just aren't head coaches.
- 50:04Speaker 4: I think Dennis Allen is one of the best defensive
- 50:07Speaker 4: coordinators in the NFL. I think he's a terrible head coach.
- 50:11Speaker 4: There are people where you just need to just coordinate,
- 50:15Speaker 4: stick to one side the football. Looking at it from
- 50:17Speaker 4: the top down isn't for them. And we'll see. This
- 50:20Speaker 4: is gonna be Robert Saliz probably last crack at being
- 50:23Speaker 4: a head coach in the NFL. Either it's gonna work
- 50:25Speaker 4: or he's gonna be back to being a coordinator. And
- 50:27Speaker 4: I think he's a really good coordinator. So that's the
- 50:30Speaker 4: tough spot where he finds himself and they are guys
- 50:32Speaker 4: that that's where and there's another.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Wrong being a really good coordinator.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Is Josh McDaniels.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Yeah, mc daniels.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I think Brandon Staley is one of the guys that
- 50:41Speaker 1: I think of, love him as the DC for New
- 50:44Speaker 1: Orleans who was a disaster in LA.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Okay, my coaching follow up, do you put anything into
- 50:53Speaker 2: the bald militia? Do you think that they are all
- 50:56Speaker 2: bald on purpose to make to just come together and
- 51:00Speaker 2: fully get a singular follicle of hair to try and
- 51:04Speaker 2: find success or do you think that he just made
- 51:07Speaker 2: the best hires that he could he could regardless of
- 51:10Speaker 2: their hairstyles.
- 51:11Speaker 1: I can say, let me answer this first of them all,
- 51:13Speaker 1: as a bald guy, we do have a preference towards
- 51:15Speaker 1: the other. We do big time. Okay, there's like a
- 51:19Speaker 1: there's an unspoken brotherhood between us.
- 51:22Speaker 4: An unspoken brotherhood is crazy, but you know what, maybe
- 51:27Speaker 4: he was just trying to put together a gang for
- 51:29Speaker 4: after the games, just in case he needs them for
- 51:31Speaker 4: Liam Cohen if they get into it again.
- 51:33Speaker 3: Because now you got to see him twice a year.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Wax on, wax off.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Let's see what the what is the upside of this
- 51:38Speaker 1: Tennessee Titans scene. I'm looking at the depth chart and
- 51:42Speaker 1: I love the moves they've made. They've invested a lot
- 51:44Speaker 1: in the offense over the last couple of years. I
- 51:46Speaker 1: think a fun offensive team that struggles to stop anyone
- 51:50Speaker 1: on defense, that is at their best in the hunt
- 51:57Speaker 1: when we're having Christmas games on Netflix, that kind of
- 52:01Speaker 1: feels like the upside of the Tennessee Titans. Do you
- 52:06Speaker 1: think they can at least get to that point? Yeah?
- 52:08Speaker 3: I think that feels about right.
- 52:10Speaker 4: If cam Ward can put it together, which I think
- 52:13Speaker 4: he can, and they've got him some better wide receivers. Now,
- 52:15Speaker 4: if Carneal Tate is what they expect him to be
- 52:18Speaker 4: out there, that offense should be able to put some
- 52:21Speaker 4: points on the board and at least be fun to
- 52:23Speaker 4: watch to where they can get to December and at
- 52:25Speaker 4: least be talking about a wild card playing meaningful games
- 52:28Speaker 4: in December. Yeah, I think I think that's best case scenario,
- 52:31Speaker 4: that's realistic.
- 52:32Speaker 2: So for men, your offensive Rookie of the Year question.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Mark, Okay, I like that, I think is that would
- 52:38Speaker 1: you say best way to bet the Titans. Carnell tit
- 52:41Speaker 1: offensive rookie of the Year, I think, so I don't
- 52:43Speaker 1: mind that at all. I don't know a lot of
- 52:46Speaker 1: people flocking to the window on vibes. If Mendoza doesn't
- 52:51Speaker 1: play one of these and Jeremiah Love's offense stinks because
- 52:54Speaker 1: he's on the Cardinals.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I think I don't think that's gonna happen. Carson Back
- 52:57Speaker 2: might be my pull. Actually, to be completely transparent with you.
- 53:01Speaker 1: I thought that you had already placed that, so oh
- 53:04Speaker 1: I should though, thank you.
- 53:05Speaker 2: For reminding me you got it.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Anytime I still need to place that Kellen Moore Coach
- 53:09Speaker 1: of the Year bet. I think if I have them
- 53:12Speaker 1: in the hunt, I'd at least like to be holding
- 53:14Speaker 1: onto that ticket. This is one of those bets where
- 53:16Speaker 1: I think, I think it's smart to pick a couple
- 53:20Speaker 1: of teams that nobody expects to make it to the postseason.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Just plant your flag to use the branding of this
- 53:26Speaker 1: show on those teams at a really good number. The
- 53:30Speaker 1: Titans plus five point fifty to be a wild card
- 53:33Speaker 1: team is a really fun look. Now, specifically to make
- 53:37Speaker 1: the wild card, you actually get a better number on
- 53:39Speaker 1: them as specifically a wild card than to make the
- 53:41Speaker 1: playoffs is plus three forty. They're not winning this division.
- 53:45Speaker 1: If they sneak in, it'll be via the wild card
- 53:49Speaker 1: plus five point fifty Titans make the playoffs. I'll cross
- 53:52Speaker 1: my fingers on that one, though It'll be a long shot.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Jamal Saint Seer, sports anchor for WJXT four and Duval
- 53:59Speaker 1: count Where and how can people find you? My friend?
- 54:03Speaker 4: You can drag me down on any social media platform.
- 54:05Speaker 4: Just JSTCYRTV always covering the Jaguars.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Appreciate you guys having me on.
- 54:11Speaker 1: It's been fun, a lot of fun. Thanks so much
- 54:14Speaker 1: to Mell A phenomenal get Kendra. He was a ton
- 54:17Speaker 1: of fun to talk to. Let's plant our flag on
- 54:19Speaker 1: the AFC South might get a shut up.
- 54:23Speaker 4: I'm trying to plant my flag here.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Okay, you're really planning your flag in that thing. We
- 54:27Speaker 1: gave our best bet per team, but what about the
- 54:30Speaker 1: best overall bet in the division? What is the absolute
- 54:34Speaker 1: best way to bet the AFC South.
- 54:38Speaker 2: I want to know if people will kill me if
- 54:41Speaker 2: I take the Titans over, because I think that that
- 54:45Speaker 2: might be the best way. However, I am looking for
- 54:47Speaker 2: a price for a Chris Rodriguez Week one right now.
- 54:52Speaker 1: So the Titans' strength of schedule wise sits smack dab
- 54:56Speaker 1: in the middle of the league. That doesn't lead us
- 54:58Speaker 1: into any particular direction. But I'm holding a ticket on
- 55:03Speaker 1: them to be a wildcard team. So I'm certainly not
- 55:06Speaker 1: the person that can provide too much pushback. We see
- 55:09Speaker 1: teams that come out of nowhere every year. Who the
- 55:13Speaker 1: hell expected the Patriots to do what they did last
- 55:15Speaker 1: year or the Commanders to make it to the NFC
- 55:18Speaker 1: Title Game two years ago. I don't think the ceiling
- 55:20Speaker 1: is quite that high for cam Ord and the Titans,
- 55:24Speaker 1: but I do think they can be significantly better.
- 55:26Speaker 2: I pulled a really good stat yesterday. The Seahawks heading
- 55:31Speaker 2: into last season were sixty to one to win the
- 55:34Speaker 2: Super Bowl. I believe the last team to have odds
- 55:37Speaker 2: greater than that. I believe were the Rams in nineteen
- 55:41Speaker 2: ninety nine. I think they were like one hundred and
- 55:42Speaker 2: fifty to one.
- 55:44Speaker 1: That was not to make this about the Falcons. That
- 55:46Speaker 1: was when we started having that conversation. It was leading
- 55:49Speaker 1: into Super Bowl Sunday, and I said, who next year?
- 55:52Speaker 1: That's sitting around the sixties In between sixty and eighty
- 55:55Speaker 1: to one range. Do I think could improve enough to
- 55:59Speaker 1: be competitive in a Super Bowl situation. That's how I
- 56:02Speaker 1: plucked the Falcons out of thin air. I don't think
- 56:05Speaker 1: the Titans are a good candidate for that, but I
- 56:08Speaker 1: do think they'd be a good candidate for team that
- 56:11Speaker 1: sneaks into the postseason when nobody expected it. I don't
- 56:15Speaker 1: mind it at all. For me. I'm gonna go over
- 56:17Speaker 1: on your Jacksonville Jaguars. But right now the over over
- 56:22Speaker 1: and you're sitting at eight and a half juice to
- 56:24Speaker 1: the over. I want to kick this up to nine
- 56:26Speaker 1: and a half and take the plus one twenty. I
- 56:28Speaker 1: don't expect another thirteen wins this year, but I do
- 56:31Speaker 1: expect them to stay in the mix. The coaching staff
- 56:34Speaker 1: is too good, the roster is too talented. I think
- 56:36Speaker 1: the addition of Travis Hunter feels like a new player
- 56:39Speaker 1: on this team, and the positive regression that I talked
- 56:42Speaker 1: about in terms of the pass rush, I think this
- 56:44Speaker 1: team's gonna be really, really good.
- 56:46Speaker 2: I hope you're right. I am manifesting health. That's it.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Just stay healthy, they stay healthy. We won't have a
- 56:54Speaker 1: problem with that. Over the favorites will be back next
