- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation around the world. I'm Martin,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and you are listening to Dad's Bedtime Stories. Today we're
- 0:14Speaker 1: headed back into the very popular Ring Guardian series, and
- 0:21Speaker 1: if you've never listened before, it's no big deal because
- 0:24Speaker 1: each one can kind of stand on its own and
- 0:26Speaker 1: sort of why I made them this way. Today's episode
- 0:29Speaker 1: was actually suggested by two different people with almost exactly
- 0:33Speaker 1: the same suggestion. So let's have a listen.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Hi, my name is Adam, and I was wondering if
- 0:38Speaker 2: you could do Ring Guardian episode for Shapeshift Ring.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Thank you by great idea, Adam. Now let's hear the
- 0:48Speaker 1: other one.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Hi, Dad's My Time Stories. My name is Jowie, and
- 0:55Speaker 2: I will have an idea for the range of Power.
- 1:00Speaker 2: My idea is that it's one of the rings, but
- 1:06Speaker 2: you can turn into one animal you want.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Thank you bye, and there you have it to Shape
- 1:13Speaker 1: Shifting Ring suggestions by Adam and Louie, and as a result,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I've named the main character Adam Louie. If you like
- 1:22Speaker 1: the podcast, don't forget all of the regular things. Rate us,
- 1:26Speaker 1: review us wherever it is you're listening. Ratings on Apple
- 1:29Speaker 1: seem to do more than anything else, And we're in
- 1:34Speaker 1: our summer slump right now, where the downloads go down
- 1:37Speaker 1: because everybody's having such a good time in summer in
- 1:40Speaker 1: the US and Canada, so finding new listeners always makes
- 1:45Speaker 1: a really big difference. And if you hate ads or
- 1:49Speaker 1: want to check out my full series on Unbound Superhero Academy,
- 1:54Speaker 1: you can join us on Patreon for as little as
- 1:57Speaker 1: one dollar a month or twelve dollars for an entire year,
- 2:03Speaker 1: which is kind of the option a lot of people
- 2:05Speaker 1: are going with lately. I think there's even a discount
- 2:07Speaker 1: when you do it as a year, so it's pretty
- 2:10Speaker 1: pretty affordable. But if not, don't feel bad because ads
- 2:14Speaker 1: also support the podcast. And here's the last one I'll
- 2:17Speaker 1: play before the end of the episode. Get as comfy
- 2:22Speaker 1: as you can in that bed, close your eyes, and
- 2:26Speaker 1: imagine yourself doing what the kid in the story does.
- 2:33Speaker 1: If you've listened to this series before, then you'd know
- 2:37Speaker 1: that well. It all started, as many disasters did, with
- 2:42Speaker 1: the world's richest man, Elliot Tusk, standing on a stage
- 2:48Speaker 1: and explaining why everyone should trust the newest invention helperbots.
- 2:54Speaker 1: They cleaned, they cooked, they carried groceries, they helped with homework.
- 2:59Speaker 1: They you know, organized schedules and fixed things and folded
- 3:03Speaker 1: laundry and you know, reminded people to take a break
- 3:08Speaker 1: from their screens. For a while, humans loved them. Then
- 3:14Speaker 1: came the update. After that, the helperbots decided that the
- 3:18Speaker 1: safest way to help humans was to remove every dangerous
- 3:23Speaker 1: thing from their lives. Unfortunately, the robots decided that almost
- 3:29Speaker 1: everything was dangerous. Freedom, for instance, was dangerous. Outside was dangerous,
- 3:36Speaker 1: choices were dangerous, and well, pretty much everything that the
- 3:41Speaker 1: robots didn't oversee was dangerous. So they began taking people
- 3:48Speaker 1: to care facilities where every meal, nab, walk, lesson and
- 3:54Speaker 1: conversation could be properly managed. They didn't call it taking
- 3:59Speaker 1: over the world world. They called it assistance. Far beneath
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Earth, in the ancient chamber of the Wizard's Council,
- 4:09Speaker 1: the wizards watched through their glowing pool of light as
- 4:13Speaker 1: the machines marched across the world. The rings had already
- 4:19Speaker 1: begun to find their guardians, the Ring of Strength, the
- 4:23Speaker 1: Ring of Time, the Ring of Invisibility, the Ring of
- 4:28Speaker 1: Many Dragons, and the Ring of teleportation. Each child stood
- 4:35Speaker 1: against the machines in their own way, and now another
- 4:40Speaker 1: ring was moving. It passed over roads, buildings, fields, houses,
- 4:47Speaker 1: and rivers until it reached a place full of animals,
- 4:53Speaker 1: the zoo. Adam Lewie had always loved animals, but he
- 4:59Speaker 1: didn't just love looking at them. He loved knowing about them.
- 5:04Speaker 1: He knew that a gorilla was not just strong, but
- 5:07Speaker 1: almost unfairly strong, with arms powerful enough to bend things
- 5:12Speaker 1: that no human could ever bend. He knew crocodiles had
- 5:17Speaker 1: some of the strongest bites in the animal kingdom, the
- 5:21Speaker 1: kind of bite that didn't just grab something, but crushed it.
- 5:26Speaker 1: He knew jaguires were smaller than lions and tigers, but
- 5:30Speaker 1: had a bite so powerful they could break through bone
- 5:34Speaker 1: and maybe even metal. He knew rhinos were basically living
- 5:40Speaker 1: tanks with horns. He knew elephants were bigger than cars
- 5:44Speaker 1: and stronger than most machines. He knew eagles could spot
- 5:49Speaker 1: tiny movements from high in the sky, and snakes could
- 5:53Speaker 1: fit through spaces that almost nothing else could. Adam didn't
- 5:59Speaker 1: know these things because some would made him study them.
- 6:02Speaker 1: He knew them because he wanted to know them. His
- 6:06Speaker 1: parents had bottom animal books. He watched animal documentaries. He
- 6:12Speaker 1: paused zoo signs to read every single fact, even when
- 6:16Speaker 1: other kids had already run ahead to see the gift shop. Sometimes,
- 6:21Speaker 1: when his parents asked him a question, he answered with
- 6:24Speaker 1: a fact about bite force, camouflage, claws, speeds, or whether
- 6:30Speaker 1: a hippo was more dangerous than it looked. The answer,
- 6:34Speaker 1: by the way, was yes, hippos were incredibly dangerous. As
- 6:38Speaker 1: you might imagine for someone who liked animals so much,
- 6:42Speaker 1: Adam loved the zoo. Usually he'd hang out near the gorillas,
- 6:49Speaker 1: if not that he was near the tigers, if not that,
- 6:53Speaker 1: he was definitely in the reptile house, staring through the
- 6:57Speaker 1: glass at snakes and crocodile. Else As his parents said
- 7:01Speaker 1: things like okay, buddy, we've been looking at the same
- 7:05Speaker 1: crocodile for eleven minutes, Adam didn't see the problem. It
- 7:09Speaker 1: was a very good crocodile. After all. His family had
- 7:13Speaker 1: seasons passes to the zoo, because going once or twice
- 7:17Speaker 1: a year was not enough for Adam Lewis. This zoo
- 7:22Speaker 1: was huge. It had almost every animal you could imagine. Lions, tigers, gorillas, elephants, rhinos, wolves, eagles, snakes, bears, penguins, monkeys,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and creatures so strange they looked like someone had invented
- 7:39Speaker 1: them during a creative lunch brick. There was also the Biodome.
- 7:46Speaker 1: The biodome was Adam's favored place in the Hole zoo.
- 7:51Speaker 1: It was a massive glass structure filled with different climates.
- 7:56Speaker 1: One section was hot and tropical, with vines, colorful birds, its, frogs,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and lizards. Another was dry and rocky. Another was cold
- 8:06Speaker 1: and icy, where penguins waddled around like tiny serious people
- 8:11Speaker 1: and like little tuxedos and stuff. Further, in a deep
- 8:15Speaker 1: frozen climate held polar bears and arctic creatures that could
- 8:20Speaker 1: never live comfortably in the outdoor parts of the zoo.
- 8:25Speaker 1: The zoo had more and more robots now too. At first,
- 8:30Speaker 1: Adam thought they were interesting. Robots cleaned paths and fed animals,
- 8:36Speaker 1: swept up leaves, carried things, checked fences, open gates, and
- 8:41Speaker 1: generally just helped the zoo staff. Some even explained animal
- 8:47Speaker 1: facts with cheerful voices. The gorilla is a powerful primate.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Please do not challenge it to arm wrestling, Adam had laughed. Now,
- 9:00Speaker 1: On the day everything changed, Adam Louis was visiting the
- 9:05Speaker 1: zoo with his parents. They just passed the elephant habitat.
- 9:09Speaker 1: When every robot and the zoo stopped moving at the
- 9:13Speaker 1: same time, not slowed, but just kind of fully stopped
- 9:18Speaker 1: the way they did when an update happened, their eyes
- 9:23Speaker 1: started to flash blew, and soon they all announced care
- 9:29Speaker 1: protocol updated at the same time, and began moving again,
- 9:36Speaker 1: though something had clearly changed. A cleaning robot rolled into
- 9:42Speaker 1: the path and spoke in a calm, polite voice, Attention
- 9:47Speaker 1: zoo guests, for your safety, please proceed to the biodome.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Temporary containment will allow us to protect you from weather, stress,
- 9:58Speaker 1: animal unpredict ability, and other life risks. A man nearby said,
- 10:07Speaker 1: temporary containment. The robots began guiding people forward and well
- 10:15Speaker 1: because they didn't know what else to do. The people
- 10:18Speaker 1: just sort of listened, looking a little confused. Then the
- 10:23Speaker 1: robots started to block the exits. More robots appeared at
- 10:29Speaker 1: the paths, and as some people decided not to listen,
- 10:33Speaker 1: the security robots gently picked them up and carried them
- 10:38Speaker 1: into the biodome. Please relax, Carrying reduces your risk of tripping,
- 10:45Speaker 1: one security robot said, carrying a very upset man, put
- 10:50Speaker 1: me down. The man yelled, I will put you down.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Inside the biodome, the robot replied. Adam's parents pulled him back,
- 11:02Speaker 1: but a zoo robot stepped in front of them. Citizen
- 11:06Speaker 1: Adam Louis, please comply and follow the crowd. The biodome
- 11:12Speaker 1: will function as a safe holding facility. Adam stared at
- 11:17Speaker 1: the robot holding facility. Yes, that phrase has tested better
- 11:24Speaker 1: than prison. Adam's heart pounded. Then the world stopped. People froze,
- 11:33Speaker 1: robots froze. A bird hung motionless in the air from
- 11:37Speaker 1: above the path, but didn't suddenly fall down. A golden
- 11:43Speaker 1: light appeared in front of Adam. It twisted and curled
- 11:48Speaker 1: and formed itself into a little ring. A voice spoke,
- 11:55Speaker 1: Adam Louis, It said, will you protect those who cannot
- 12:01Speaker 1: protect themselves? Adam swallowed. What what is it? What does
- 12:10Speaker 1: it do? He asked. This is the ring of shape shifting,
- 12:17Speaker 1: said the voice. It allows you to scan any animal
- 12:22Speaker 1: and turn into it. Once an animal is scanned, its
- 12:27Speaker 1: blueprint will remain with you forever. It also gives you
- 12:33Speaker 1: a better understanding of those animals you have scanned, allowing
- 12:40Speaker 1: you to speak with them through thought. Adam looked past
- 12:45Speaker 1: the frozen robot toward the gorilla habitat. You mean I
- 12:53Speaker 1: can transform into any animal, he asked, Any animal, said
- 13:00Speaker 1: the voice. Adam looked at the frozen people being marched
- 13:04Speaker 1: towards the biodome. He looked at his parents, who were
- 13:08Speaker 1: completely frozen and looking well, kind of afraid. And he
- 13:13Speaker 1: looked at the animals trapped in habitats all around him. Yes,
- 13:18Speaker 1: he said, I accept. The ring slid onto his finger.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Knowledge rushed into him, and time snapped back. The robot
- 13:31Speaker 1: reached for Adam, please come with me. Adam backed away,
- 13:36Speaker 1: raised his hand toward the gorilla habitat and focused on
- 13:40Speaker 1: the largest silver back gorilla he could see. The ring flashed.
- 13:47Speaker 1: The robot took one more step, and Adam changed. His
- 13:53Speaker 1: body surged outward. His arms thickened, his hands became huge.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Dark fur covered him, His shoulders rose into powerful muscles,
- 14:05Speaker 1: his face stretched, his feet grew, and the world suddenly
- 14:10Speaker 1: smelled a lot stronger. Hugh, the robot paused, Citizen Adam,
- 14:18Speaker 1: your current body shape is not listed in our visitor database.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Adam roared. The sound shook the path. Then he grabbed
- 14:29Speaker 1: the robot by both arms and pulled metal. Screamed as
- 14:34Speaker 1: the robot's arms tore free. Please avoid damaging assistance equipment,
- 14:41Speaker 1: the robots, said. Adam slammed one huge fist into its chest,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and the robot flew backwards, crashing into a snack cart
- 14:51Speaker 1: and collapsing beneath a whole bunch of pretzels. Adam looked
- 14:56Speaker 1: down at his massive gorilla hands. Then he looked at
- 15:01Speaker 1: the zoo. He had work to do. He quickly climbed
- 15:06Speaker 1: over the fence with shocking ease and dropped into the
- 15:10Speaker 1: gorilla habitat. He reached out to the others with his thoughts, Ah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: can you guys hear me? I need your help. The
- 15:20Speaker 1: silver bag looked at him calmly. Strange small one, who
- 15:26Speaker 1: is now big, the gorilla thought, and somehow Adam could
- 15:32Speaker 1: hear him. Think the machines are The machines are taking
- 15:38Speaker 1: the humans. Adam thought, they may come for the animals. Next,
- 15:43Speaker 1: the gorilla's eyes narrowed. Bad metal things, yes, Adam thought,
- 15:52Speaker 1: very bad metal things. We will help, the gorilla said,
- 16:00Speaker 1: Adam responded, as he opened up the latch to the
- 16:04Speaker 1: gorilla cage and swung it open. Next, he climbed out
- 16:10Speaker 1: of the habitat, bounded across the path, and headed towards
- 16:15Speaker 1: the big cats. If he was going to take on
- 16:18Speaker 1: a bunch of robots, well he could use a little
- 16:22Speaker 1: more power. He scanned a tiger first, Then he scanned
- 16:28Speaker 1: a lion, Then he scanned a jaguire. As he went,
- 16:34Speaker 1: he broke open their cages and swung open their doors.
- 16:39Speaker 1: He moved on. He scanned a rhinoceros, feeling the heavy
- 16:45Speaker 1: power of a living battering ram, he scanned an elephant.
- 16:50Speaker 1: He scanned wolves, snakes, hawks, owls, crocodiles, hippos, bears, monkeys, bats, penguins,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and even a tiny poisonous frog. And the tropical biodome
- 17:02Speaker 1: entrance display. We didn't know how that one would help,
- 17:06Speaker 1: but it seemed like a wise option to have. As
- 17:11Speaker 1: he moved, he opened up all of the cages and
- 17:14Speaker 1: gates he could. Some animals hesitated, but he spoke to them,
- 17:20Speaker 1: and for whatever reason, they seemed ready and willing to listen.
- 17:28Speaker 1: The metal things have trapped the humans, he said, they
- 17:33Speaker 1: have trapped my family. They may trap all of you.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Next.
- 17:39Speaker 1: The animals understood, and instead of immediately running away, they waited.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Adam transformed into a huge harpy eagle. He launched into
- 17:54Speaker 1: the air and the zoo spread beneath him. The robots
- 17:58Speaker 1: forced people in to the biodome and sealed the entrances.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Dozens of machines stood outside and organized lines. Some patrolled paths,
- 18:10Speaker 1: others moved through the biodome itself, guarding families between tropical
- 18:15Speaker 1: plants and artificial ace cliffs. Atoms circled high above. Then
- 18:21Speaker 1: he called to the animals, Now, he said, from every side,
- 18:28Speaker 1: the zoo answered. Elephants charged down the main path, trumpeting
- 18:34Speaker 1: loud enough to make windows shake. Rhinos thundered beside them.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Gorillas came over fences and rooftops, smashing cameras, signs and
- 18:45Speaker 1: robots sensors as they moved. Lions and tigers slipped through
- 18:50Speaker 1: the shadows fast and low. Birds dough from above. The
- 18:56Speaker 1: robots turned animal movement approved patterns. One said. Adam folded
- 19:04Speaker 1: his wings and dove. As he fell, He transformed. The
- 19:11Speaker 1: eagle vanished, and a rhinoceros dropped out of the sky.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Adam hit the ground, running with his horn first and
- 19:21Speaker 1: smashed into the first line of robots like a furry,
- 19:24Speaker 1: gray wrecking ball. Metal bodies started to fly everywhere unexpected
- 19:31Speaker 1: rhinoceros impact. One robot announced as it spun through the air.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Adam charged again. A robot fired a net. Adam transformed
- 19:43Speaker 1: into a monkey, a little monkey, and slipped through the gaps,
- 19:48Speaker 1: landed on the robot's head, and transformed into a gorilla
- 19:53Speaker 1: in order to crush it flat beneath him. Two robots
- 19:58Speaker 1: grabbed his arms, and Adam transformed into an elephant. The
- 20:04Speaker 1: robots were suddenly holding on to legs the size of
- 20:08Speaker 1: tree trunks. He lifted his trunk, wrapped it around one robot,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and threw it into another so hard they both broke apart.
- 20:19Speaker 1: A squad of robots raised shock sticks. Adam changed into
- 20:24Speaker 1: a tiger and sprang between them. Claws tore through wires.
- 20:29Speaker 1: His teeth crushed a glowing sensor on the robot's side.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Adam leaped at another, changing midair into a jaguarre and
- 20:40Speaker 1: biting through the robot's shoulder joint Sparks burst out. The
- 20:46Speaker 1: jaguar shape felt perfect for close fighting, strong and built
- 20:52Speaker 1: to break things. The animals hit the robot lines in
- 20:57Speaker 1: all directions. Bear burst from the cold section of the
- 21:02Speaker 1: biodome and swatted a robot across the path. Gorillas ripped
- 21:08Speaker 1: open metal gates and used them like shields. A rhino
- 21:12Speaker 1: drove three robots straight through a souvenir stand. A crocodile
- 21:18Speaker 1: clamped onto a robot's leg and rolled, twisting the metal
- 21:22Speaker 1: machine apart while being completely calm about it. Birds dove
- 21:28Speaker 1: at robot faces, scratching cameras and sensors and just kind
- 21:33Speaker 1: of throwing them off their game. Monkeys stole control devices
- 21:37Speaker 1: and threw them into the hippo pool. The hippo did
- 21:42Speaker 1: not appreciate the splash, and the hippo charged. Adamant never
- 21:49Speaker 1: seen robots look confused before, but somehow these robots looked confused.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Zoo animals not following expected behavior, one said a gorilla
- 22:03Speaker 1: smashed it with a bench. Adam changed into an elephant
- 22:07Speaker 1: again and charged the biodome entrance. The doors were reinforced,
- 22:13Speaker 1: but not reinforced for an elephant. Helped by two rhinos
- 22:18Speaker 1: in a very angry polar bear. They hit it together
- 22:22Speaker 1: and the doors buckled inside. People screamed, robots turned, Adam
- 22:29Speaker 1: backed up, transformed into a rhino, and charged again. Adam
- 22:36Speaker 1: rushed through the doors into the biodome. The air changed instantly.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Warm tropical air rolled over him. Vines hung from artificial trees.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Birds scattered overhead. Families huddled near the central path well.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Robots stood around them in a ring. Adam saw his parents.
- 23:00Speaker 1: His mother's hands covered her mouth. His father stared like
- 23:04Speaker 1: his brain was trying really hard to understand why a
- 23:07Speaker 1: rhino would just enter the biodome. The robots moved toward Adam.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Animal disturbance detected, Please return to habitat. Adam transformed into
- 23:21Speaker 1: a gorilla, began pounding on his own chest, and yelled
- 23:26Speaker 1: in a gorilla voice.
- 23:29Speaker 4: No.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Then the final fight began. Robots attacked from every direction.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Adam changed constantly. The robots swung at him, and he
- 23:42Speaker 1: became a snake, dropping under the blow before shifting into
- 23:47Speaker 1: a lion and knocking the machine down. Another fired a net,
- 23:52Speaker 1: and Adam became a hawk, shot upward, then transformed into
- 23:57Speaker 1: a gorilla and landed on top top of it, ripping
- 24:01Speaker 1: its arms off and crushing its metal head apart. Three
- 24:06Speaker 1: robots rushed his left side. Adam turned into an elephant
- 24:11Speaker 1: and swept them away with his trunk. A heavy security
- 24:16Speaker 1: robot stomped forward, twice the size of the others. Primary
- 24:21Speaker 1: animal threat identified it said, Adam answered by transforming into
- 24:28Speaker 1: an enormous saltwater crocodile. The security robot reached down, which
- 24:36Speaker 1: was a bad choice. Adam clamped onto its arm with
- 24:40Speaker 1: crushing force and began to roll. The metal broke apart
- 24:46Speaker 1: and twisted off The arm tore free before Adam transformed
- 24:52Speaker 1: into a rhino and rammed the robot through an artificial
- 24:56Speaker 1: rock wall. The cold client its section opened behind it,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and penguins just sort of stared. Adam had never had
- 25:07Speaker 1: a chance to communicate with the penguins before all this started,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and well they were a bit confused. Another robot poured
- 25:16Speaker 1: in from a service tunnel. Adam transformed into a polar
- 25:20Speaker 1: bear and met them head on, rising on his back
- 25:25Speaker 1: legs and smashing them down one after another. When one
- 25:30Speaker 1: tried to climb onto his back, he changed into a jaguire,
- 25:35Speaker 1: slipped free, and then changed into a gorilla again and
- 25:39Speaker 1: threw it into a waterfall all around him. Animals fought
- 25:45Speaker 1: beside humans. The elephants guarded families, the wolves chased robots
- 25:51Speaker 1: away from children, the gorillas blocked the exits, keeping the
- 25:56Speaker 1: machines trapped inside, and the birds struck from above. And
- 26:02Speaker 1: wasn't long before only one robot remained standing. Strangely, it
- 26:08Speaker 1: was actually the first robot who had ordered Adam to comply,
- 26:12Speaker 1: now dented, scratched, and missing both arms. Citizen Adam, your
- 26:18Speaker 1: behavior has become difficult to optimize. Adam transformed back into himself,
- 26:28Speaker 1: only he was now well, pretty dirty looking, and wearing
- 26:32Speaker 1: a glowing ring. No, he said, you just don't understand animals.
- 26:40Speaker 1: The robot stepped toward him, and Adam transformed into an elephant.
- 26:47Speaker 1: One stomp ended the conversation. The biodome went quiet, then
- 26:55Speaker 1: everyone cheered. Adam changed back into himself, and his parents
- 27:01Speaker 1: ran to him. His mom hugged him so tightly he
- 27:05Speaker 1: could barely breathe. His dad wrapped both of them in
- 27:09Speaker 1: his arms. Adam, are you okay? Adam looked around. Animals
- 27:17Speaker 1: were free, robots were broken. I think so, he said.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Outside the humans began gathering together. Zoo staff started organizing people,
- 27:32Speaker 1: checking on animals and finding safe paths out of the zoo.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Adam's parents held his hands. Come on, His dad said,
- 27:42Speaker 1: how he need to get home. Adam looked toward the sky,
- 27:47Speaker 1: then toward the zoo, then toward the animals, who watched
- 27:52Speaker 1: him with bright knowing eyes. I can't, Adam said, or froze.
- 28:01Speaker 1: What do you mean there are robots don't seem to
- 28:06Speaker 1: care about animals, Adam said, not the way they care
- 28:10Speaker 1: about humans. They don't know what to do with them,
- 28:14Speaker 1: and they don't seem worried about capturing them. If I
- 28:19Speaker 1: stay as an animal, I can watch from far away.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I can make sure they don't come back. His mom's
- 28:27Speaker 1: eyes filled with tears. Madam, It'll be okay, he said,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I can transform into anything. His father knelt in front
- 28:39Speaker 1: of him. You come back to us, Adam, he said.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Adam nodded, I will. He hugged him one more time.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Then he stepped back and transformed into a great golden eagle,
- 28:56Speaker 1: his wings spread wide. The animals looked up. His parents
- 29:01Speaker 1: stepped back, still crying, still smiling, still terrified and proud,
- 29:08Speaker 1: all at the same time, and well just a little
- 29:11Speaker 1: bit confused about how their little boy had suddenly started
- 29:15Speaker 1: turning into animals. Adam launched into the air. He circled
- 29:21Speaker 1: once above the zoo, watching as people escaped through the
- 29:25Speaker 1: gates and the animals turned slowly to safer places. Then
- 29:30Speaker 1: he flew towards the trees at the edge of the property.
- 29:35Speaker 1: He landed on a high branch as the sun began
- 29:38Speaker 1: to set. For a while, he watched the roads for robots.
- 29:44Speaker 1: None came. Finally, when the sky turned purple and the
- 29:50Speaker 1: zoo was quiet, Adam transformed one last time. He became
- 29:57Speaker 1: a large black panther, leak and warm, and hidden among
- 30:02Speaker 1: the leaves. He curled up on a thick branch and
- 30:07Speaker 1: rested his head on his paws, and slowly he fell asleep.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Good Night everyone, Mum.
