Paul writes this letter to the churches in Galatia, astonished at how they have turned from the gospel he preached to a message of “Jesus and works” salvation from the Judaizers. He starts this letter defending his status as an apostle, and that he was not appointed by man, but by God. Afterwards, he shares his astonishment at the turning away from the true gospel and says that anyone, including Paul himself, who shares a different gospel than the one he shared with them, that they should be accursed.
