Transcript
- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Luna: Hey Lucas! Ready for another episode. I've been practicing my spice buying from last time. Lucas: Oh, that's great. So you're ready for more spice market phrases? Luna: Absolutely. But I know there are more spices out there. Lucas: Yes, lots. And before we dive in, you know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, honestly if today was worth a coffee to you, that's the link — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. It helps us keep going ad-free. Luna: Yeah, totally. Every little bit helps. Okay, so what new spices are we learning today? Lucas: Today we're going to learn two more common ones: యాలకులు and దాల్చినచెక్క. Luna: యాలకులు and దాల్చినచెక్క. I think I've heard of those. What are they? Lucas: యాలకులు is cardamom, and దాల్చినచెక్క is cinnamon. They're used in many Indian dishes and teas. Luna: Oh, I love cardamom in chai. Okay, repeat after me: యాలకులు. Lucas: Yes. And the other one: దాల్చినచెక్క. That's a mouthful. Lucas: It is. Break it down: దాల్-చి-న-చె-క్క. Luna: దాల్చినచెక్క. Got it. So if I want to buy these, I can say నాకు యాలకులు కావాలి, like before? Lucas: Exactly. But today we also learn how to say 'I want a little bit'. Luna: Oh, that's useful. How do you say that? That means 'I want a little bit.' కొంచెం means 'a little'. So I could say నాకు కొంచెం యాలకులు కావాలి — I want a little cardamom. Lucas: Perfect. That's exactly right. Luna: Great. Let me practice all three: యాలకులు, దాల్చినచెక్క, and నాకు కొంచెం కావాలి. Lucas: Say them again. Lucas: Excellent pronunciation, Luna. Let's put it in a scene. Imagine you're at a spice shop and you see cardamom. What do you say? Lucas: Perfect. And the shopkeeper might ask ఇంకేమైనా కావాలా? Anything else? Luna: Then I can say Lucas: You've got it. And then you can say అంతే — that's all. Luna: అంతే. So the whole conversation: నాకు కొంచెం యాలకులు కావాలి. ఇంకేమైనా కావాలా? నాకు కొంచెం దాల్చినచెక్క కావాలి. అంతే. Lucas: Wow, that was perfect. You just had a full spice market conversation. Luna: Thanks to you. Let's review: యాలకులు is cardamom, దాల్చినచెక్క is cinnamon, and నాకు కొంచెం కావాలి is I want a little bit. Lucas: Exactly. And remember, you can use కొంచెం with anything. Luna: That's so handy. I'm going to use that at the market next time. Lucas: Great. Keep practicing these. Next time we'll learn something new. Luna: Can't wait. Until then, bye from Learn Telugu with Fexingo! Lucas: Bye bye!
