- 0:04Speaker 1: Now it's time to catch up with Country Weekly, where
- 0:08we check out news and gossip from the world of
- 0:10country music. I'm your host as always, Ken Dawkins, and
- 0:15I'll be reading from various sources found online. As a reminder,
- 0:19RADIOI is a reading service intended for people who are
- 0:21blind who have other disabilities that make it difficult to
- 0:25read printed material. We'll begin with the first article, dated
- 0:29March third, from countrynow dot com. Carl Dean, Dolly Parton's
- 0:35beloved husband of fifty eight years, has passed away. Dolly
- 0:40Parton is mourning the loss of her husband of over
- 0:42fifty eight years, Carl Dean. He was eighty two. The
- 0:46Country Music Icon shared a statement late Monday following his passing.
- 0:50Carl and I spent many wonderful years together, Parton said,
- 0:54words can't do justice for the love we shared over
- 0:56sixty years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. Also
- 1:01included in the statement were details about Carl Dene's memorial service.
- 1:05He will soon be laid to rest in a private
- 1:06cemetery with only immediate family in attendance. According to the post,
- 1:11he has survived by his siblings, Sandra and Donnie Parton.
- 1:15Her family and Dean's family are asking for privacy during
- 1:18this difficult time. Dolly and Karl met when Dolly was
- 1:22just eighteen years old. She had just moved to Nashville
- 1:25and was doing laundry at the Wishy Washy laundromat when Dean,
- 1:28who was twenty one at the time, drove by in
- 1:30his truck. He passed by again and paused to warn
- 1:33her about the risk of getting a sunburn and her
- 1:36skimpy outfit. I was surprised and delighted that while he
- 1:39talked to me, he looked at my face, a rare
- 1:42thing for me, Parton wrote on her website. He seemed
- 1:45to be genuinely interested in finding out who I was
- 1:48and what I was about. Dean knew he had to
- 1:51get to no Parton the moment he laid eyes on her.
- 1:53My first thought was I'm going to marry that girl,
- 1:56Dean shared back in twenty sixteen. My second thought was, Lord,
- 2:00she's good looking. And that was the day my life began.
- 2:04Parton and Dean were together for two years before tying
- 2:06the knot in an intimate ceremony on May thirtieth, nineteen
- 2:09sixty six. They exchanged vows in a small church only
- 2:13with Parton's mother, a by Lee and preacher and his
- 2:16wife as witness. Dean quickly realized he preferred life away
- 2:20from the spotlight. After attending a high profile industry event
- 2:23later that year, Parton was being honored with a songwriting
- 2:26award for the Bill Phillips hit put it off until tomorrow,
- 2:30and Dean accompanied her for the evening. That was my
- 2:33first big record, Parton recalled. It went to number one
- 2:36for Bill and it was B and I's song of
- 2:38the year. So Carl and I got dressed up. He
- 2:41was in a tucks and we drove to dinner. We
- 2:43got out, walked up to the red carpet, went inside
- 2:46and sat through dinner and the awards. After the dinner,
- 2:49Carl turned to me and said, Dolly, I want you
- 2:51to have everything you want, and I'm happy for you,
- 2:54but don't ever ask me to go to another one
- 2:56of them dang things again. From that moment On, part
- 3:00and Dean were rarely seen in public together. As Parton's
- 3:02fame continued to grow, Dean remained content running his asphalt
- 3:06paving business and staying out of the limelight. In recent years,
- 3:10Parton revealed that Dean was facing some health issues and
- 3:12admitted that he is the main reason why she wasn't touring.
- 3:16I don't tour anymore, she told Polestar. I've got so
- 3:19many business things I'm doing, and my husband and I
- 3:21are getting older. He's a little older than I am,
- 3:23and I kind of need to be with him again.
- 3:26Carl Dean passes away at eighty two. Next, Brad Paisley
- 3:31announces Truck Still Works tour. Brad Paisley's returning to the
- 3:36road this summer. The country music Icon just unveiled plans
- 3:39for his Truck Still Works to Her, launching May twenty
- 3:42first this year at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
- 3:47The just announced first leg of the track includes sixteen
- 3:50shows and will run through August. Walker Hayes will be
- 3:54the special guest on the tour, with Avery Anna may
- 3:56Estes and Alexandra Kay rotating his opening app Upon the
- 4:01announcement of the tour, Alexandria Kay wrote, ah so so
- 4:05excited see y'all soon. Evyanna and Mayestis both at it.
- 4:09Can't wait. The Truck Still Works to It will bring
- 4:13Brad to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado,
- 4:17and the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, marking his first
- 4:19ever performance at both venues. Fans can add to their
- 4:23truck Still Works tour experience with an exclusive VIP package
- 4:27of course that includes premium tickets, a guided backstage tour,
- 4:31a VIP exclusive gift item, and more. And unfortunately, his
- 4:35tour will not take him anywhere near us here in
- 4:39the Bluegrass. Next, Cole Swindell and wife Courtney are expecting
- 4:44their first child. Cole Swindell and his wife, Courtney Little
- 4:48Swindell are having a baby. The couple dropped the news
- 4:51of Courtney's pregnancy on Monday. The joint announcement post on
- 4:55Instagram features a carousel of heartfelt moments, starting with a
- 4:58black and white photo of a couple embracing with a
- 5:01clothing line of baby onesies strung out in front of them.
- 5:05In the following slides, they continue to document this next
- 5:07chapter of their life with images of their sonogram, a
- 5:10young family member proudly sporting a big cousin embroidered sweater,
- 5:14and a touching glimpse into Swindell's new role as dad
- 5:17symbolized by a baseball cap reading dad, a pair of
- 5:20tennis shoes with a positive pregnancy test inside, and another
- 5:24look at the sonogram. Courtney showed off her bump while
- 5:27donning a simple yet stunning cream colored dress, which perfectly
- 5:30matches Swindell's casual button down shirt and jeans. Their caption
- 5:34Red Baby Swindell twenty twenty five. Tons of congratulatory message
- 5:39from fans and fellow artists filled the comments section, proving
- 5:43just how much the couple's loved by the community. And
- 5:46this news comes nearly nine months after this she had
- 5:49made She had Me at Head's Carolina singer tied the
- 5:52knot with his other half. The lovebirds officially said I
- 5:55do on June twelfth of twenty twenty four, with a
- 5:58small intimate ceremony in Sonoma, California. At the time, they
- 6:01shared this news with the world with a joint post
- 6:04that also debuted Courtney's updated Instagram handle featuring her new
- 6:08last name, Courtney Swindell. It's unclear when exactly the couple
- 6:12started dating, but it's likely the couple's been together for
- 6:15several years. Courtney, a former NBA dancer in the twenty
- 6:19seventeen Miss teen North Carolina who Noa now acts as
- 6:23co owner of The Little Sister's Boutique. Previously appeared in
- 6:26Swindell's music video for his songs Some Habits, which dropped
- 6:30in the fall of twenty twenty one. They took their
- 6:32relationship to the next level when Swindell got down on
- 6:35one knee and proposed on May eighth of twenty twenty three,
- 6:38just days before the twenty twenty three ACM Awards. Swindell's
- 6:43caption at the time, red still couldn't tell you everything
- 6:45I said down on one knee. All I know is
- 6:47she said yes. Little also shared a heartfelt note that
- 6:51Red woke up as future missus Swindell have never been
- 6:54so happy. Can't believe we are engaged. Swindell recently shared
- 6:58a closer look into their wedding day with a new
- 7:00music video for his latest single, Forever to Me. The
- 7:03video showcase has never before seen footage from their nuptials,
- 7:06as a way to commemorate the real life love story
- 7:09that inspired the tune. Penned by The Georgia and NATO
- 7:11alongside Grayland James and Rocky Block, the song officially went
- 7:16for radio ads on April fifteenth, and has since hit
- 7:18the top ten at country radio. As a thank you
- 7:21for fans for all the love they have shown this release,
- 7:24Swindell decided to drop a new rendition dubbed Forever to
- 7:27Me our version. This new version of the song offers
- 7:31more stripped down sound driven by a piano. I absolutely
- 7:35love this version. Swindell shared. Forever to Me joins previously
- 7:39released tracks One Day, Three Feet Tall, and Kill a Prayer,
- 7:43which are all set to appear on Cole Swindell's upcoming
- 7:46fifth studio album for Warner Music. Nashville. The country star
- 7:50is currently gearing up to head over seas in March
- 7:53to serve as support for Cody Johnson's Leather Deluxe Tour.
- 7:56These shows will Markswindell's first time performing in Australia and
- 8:00New Zealand. Next, Craig Morgan releases American soundtrack EP reflecting
- 8:07on faith, family and Patriotism. Creig Morgan is starting his
- 8:12time on Blake Shelton's tour with the release of brand
- 8:15new music. The country hit maker and Army Reserve soldier
- 8:18has just dropped his American Soundtrack EP through BBR Music
- 8:22Group BMG Nashville. All but one of the six songs
- 8:25on the project were co written by Morgan, who also
- 8:28co produced the EP with Phil O'Donnell. I believe most
- 8:32people in this nation can relate to something in each
- 8:34song on this project. I absolutely love songwriting, Morgan shared.
- 8:38God has given me a gift that allows me to
- 8:40impact other people's lives. That's a blessing, and I've learned
- 8:43not to take it for granted. Morgan has always been
- 8:47a voice for the hard working, God fearing individuals who
- 8:49form the backbone of America. Every song on American Soundtrack
- 8:53reflects his deep faith and patriotism, embodying the values that
- 8:57define him as both a singer and a soldier. I
- 9:00try to explain God, family, and country and my music
- 9:03and in everything I do. The Tennessee native explained, That's
- 9:06what I've always done, and I've come to realize it's
- 9:08my platform. I don't stress about things as much as
- 9:11I used to. I just try to write, sing, produce
- 9:13and play the best music that we can and go
- 9:16where I think God wants me to be. The soundtrack
- 9:19listing from the new album American Soundtrack roots, God's Problems, Country, Education,
- 9:26blue collar prayer, who I'm From and again It's produced
- 9:30by both Fellow'donnald and Craig Morgan. Now we move along
- 9:35to people dot com country first article dated Let's see
- 9:40where this is. Looks like March fourth, that's correct. Eric
- 9:44Church's Nashville barr is reportedly selling a drink inspired by
- 9:48Morgan Wallen's chair throwing incident. Eric Church knows how to
- 9:53poke fun at his friend Morgan Wallen. According to a
- 9:55now viral TikTok, Church's bar Chiefs on Broadway is now
- 10:00selling a drink inspired by Morgan Wallin's infamous chair throwing incident.
- 10:04As many fans may remember, Wallin was arrested back in
- 10:07April for allegedly throwing a chair off the top floor
- 10:10of Rodney Scott's Whole Hog Barbecue, a rooftop restaurant on
- 10:13the music Venue's top floor. While the incident inspired the
- 10:17creation of a new menu item, the chair. According to
- 10:20a photo of the new menu item included in a
- 10:22TikTok clip, the drink is made up of Smirnoff raspberry vodka,
- 10:26raspberry liqueur lemonade, and a splash of soda. Sounds awfully sweet.
- 10:32It serves in a red cup with a miniature folding chair.
- 10:35Hanging out of it. According to Country Cord, the drink
- 10:38is priced at a wopping nineteen dollars. The drink is
- 10:41all in fun. It's Church and Wallert are friends and collaborators.
- 10:44Less than a week after Wallin's arrest, their collaboration made
- 10:47me a bar where man made a bar Brother reached
- 10:49the top slot on the Billboard Country Airplate chart. During
- 10:53that time, Chiefs on Broadway also updated its marquee with
- 10:56a reference to the incident, writing our pigs fly, our
- 11:00chairs don't. After the incident, Wallen was arrested and charged
- 11:04with three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Per
- 11:07court records obtained by People, two officers were standing in
- 11:10front of the Chiefs on Broadway around eleven pm that
- 11:13day when the incident occurred. As we've heard many times
- 11:17and in December, Wallin appeared in court and was sentenced
- 11:19to one week of incarceration to be served at a
- 11:21DUI education center. Following the hearing, Wallen's attorney, Warwick Robinson
- 11:27shared a statement that Wallan. Should Wallan thirty one, complete
- 11:30his probation, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and expungement.
- 11:35Mister Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last
- 11:38eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Moving on,
- 11:46Wiley Green sets the record straight on his relationship status
- 11:49amid Megan Maroney dating rumors. Riley Green as single as
- 11:54can be. During the premiere episode of the d the
- 11:56Blind podcast on Monday, March third, the singer who's recently
- 12:01been linked to Megan Maroney by fans, of course, was
- 12:04asked if he's dating anyone single. Green thirty six responded
- 12:09that was an easy one. Then host Eric Henderson pushed
- 12:12further and asked how single? Pretty damn? Green said simply
- 12:16before they moved on to a different topic. Reps for
- 12:19Green and Marony did not immediately respond to People's request
- 12:22for comment. Elsewhere in the interview, Green recalled being moved
- 12:25by Maroney's rendition of Ain't Nothing About You with Brooks
- 12:28and Dun. You know, I did the Brooks and Dun
- 12:31reboot this time, and I went to listen to it.
- 12:33My favorite song on There is not Mine she did
- 12:36Ain't Nothing about You, he said of Maroney twenty seven.
- 12:39I forgot all about that song. I wish I would
- 12:41have done that, but it's so hard to take something
- 12:43that was already right and make it your own, or
- 12:45try and make it better. That was one of those
- 12:48where it was almost kind of rock feeling a really
- 12:50cool version of it. He continued a different round here,
- 12:53singer concluded, Yeah, I had to sing she used to
- 12:56be mine. With Ronnie Dunn sitting there in the room,
- 12:58it's probably a little easy for her, somebody a little
- 13:01more talented vocally than I am. But that's a tough
- 13:03thing to go through. Though the pair is yet to collaborate,
- 13:07Green tapped Maroni to sing Ella Langley's part in Don't
- 13:10Mind If I Do in November. Meanwhile, fans began speculating
- 13:14about a romance between Maroni in Green in January, when
- 13:18TikTok users believe they were on vacation together at the time,
- 13:22Maroni shared photos from her trip on Instagram and tagged
- 13:25Saint Bartholomey as the location. At the time, Green shared
- 13:29photos on his Instagram stories at a resort, of course,
- 13:33and a TikTok user pieced together that they matched a
- 13:36resort in Saint Bartholomey. Another TikTok user linked their shark photos.
- 13:41Apparently they have nothing better to do with their time.
- 13:44Earlier that month, the fan on TikTok also pointed out
- 13:47that Maroney was wearing what appeared to be Green's hat
- 13:49on her Instagram stories. Green previously dated artist manager Sophia
- 13:54Sanson and has been rumored to be linked to You
- 13:57Look Like That You Love Me collaborator Langley and song
- 14:00writer Jessica Lynn. Meanwhile, Moroni was previously linked to Morgan Wallen,
- 14:05though she's clarified they were never exclusively dating. None of
- 14:09those people has been linked to me. Now we move
- 14:12down the road to saving country music for some commentary
- 14:17and news. With the first article dated March fourth, Sam
- 14:21Williams completely loses the plot on Country Star. It very
- 14:26well could be that the son of Hank Williams Junior
- 14:29and the grandson of Hank Williams will be responsible for
- 14:32releasing the worst song in the entire pantheon of what
- 14:35anyone could ever construe as country music in twenty twenty five.
- 14:40And though such an offense would regularly elicit some sort
- 14:44of rant or other scathing rebuke, here this doesn't feel
- 14:47like a moment for vitriol or sarcasm. This is so
- 14:50bad and so off it feels like something that should
- 14:53give way to serious concern. Again, this is from saving
- 14:56country music. It most certainly can't be easy to be
- 14:59the son of hen and whether it's Hank Williams Junior,
- 15:01Hank Williams the Third, or Hank three's son Coleman Williams,
- 15:05they've all rebelled against the family legacy and attempted to
- 15:08carve a path in music that is their own, while
- 15:11also understanding the importance of keeping their family legacy alive.
- 15:15Nobody should want or expect for Sam Williams or any
- 15:18other member of the Williams family to be a re
- 15:20enactment of Hank Williams. But for Sam Williams, he seems
- 15:24to believe that his path forward is through really terrible
- 15:27hip hop infused, braggadocious pop that is so vapid and
- 15:31devoid of self awareness the only possible viable excuse for
- 15:35its horribleness is that it's self parody. Unfortunately, though there
- 15:39is no evidence this is the case, with a straight face,
- 15:42he the White Boy raps I'm the new Elvis Presley
- 15:46and I'm Peyton Manning in the backfield. But in truth,
- 15:49most people, even in country music, still don't know that
- 15:51Sam Williams exists. While the promotional copy his new song
- 15:56country Star talks all about pushing the boundaries of country
- 16:00and carving out his own enterprising path forward, the song
- 16:03is quite literally the opposite of this. It's the most conformist, safe,
- 16:07monogenre mass appeal pandering pop that is humanly possible, says
- 16:12saving country Music. It's also not in anyone's universe a
- 16:16country song. Despite the inference of the title and the
- 16:19fact that it was released by Mercury Nashville. Sam has
- 16:22been steering away from conventional country music ever since his
- 16:25pop infused album Glass House Children from twenty twenty one.
- 16:29Then shortly thereafter there was an unusual situation. We claimed
- 16:33that he was under a restrictive conservatorship and wanted out.
- 16:37Not dissimilar to the infamous Britney Spears drama. Sam's sister
- 16:41Katie was killed in a car accident in twenty twenty
- 16:44and this seemed to significantly affect Sam's mental health. In
- 16:48the new song country Star, he references Highway seventy nine,
- 16:51which is the highway that Katie died on in October
- 16:56of twenty twenty two. Sam Williams also came out as
- 16:58gay and now his reference as a queer country artist.
- 17:01Sam's revelation came in a time when most performers in
- 17:04country aren't shunned for their sexual orientation, but showered with
- 17:08praise and acceptance. However, this also often insulates performers from
- 17:12worthy or constructive criticisms. Country Star is so off it
- 17:16almost feels like a cry for help. What is country?
- 17:20What is authenticity? It's being true to yourself. Nobody is
- 17:23going to buy that Hank Junior's son is some sort
- 17:25of larger than life, rapping pop star, he says in
- 17:29the song I'm Hank Willie in the Flesh No Walmart Boy.
- 17:32But as Sam Williams continued it on his precipitous slide,
- 17:36Mason Ramsey has risen up to be surprisingly entertaining an
- 17:39authentic songwriter and performer. But this isn't about piling on
- 17:43Sam Williams and this patently terrible song. People first, then
- 17:47music is the mantra we all should adhere to. It
- 17:49doesn't feel like Sam Williams deserves a tongue lashing here.
- 17:53It feels like he needs a welfare check. It would
- 17:55be unfair for us to project that Sam Williams must
- 17:58be country, or even that he must be a performer.
- 18:00But when you're calling yourself country, when you're clearly not
- 18:03in doing this strange pop hip hop thing that's patently
- 18:06terrible no matter what you try to call it, it
- 18:08runs counter to everything that Williams name stands for. At
- 18:11this point, saving country music just hopes that he's okay.
- 18:16Next Zach Top, Jake Worthington, Evoke, George Strait, Alan Jackson
- 18:20at the Ryman. It's been a big weekend in Music
- 18:25City as Billy Strings has been playing sold out shows
- 18:27at the Bridgestone Arena, while just down the street at
- 18:30the Ryman, Zach Topp played two sold out shows of
- 18:33his own, and being in Nashville, you knew that guest
- 18:35collaborations would be a big part of these presentations. Country
- 18:39music is going through a big revitalization of the nineties
- 18:42country sound, and it's off the backs of guys like
- 18:44zach Topp as well as Texas native Jake Worthington with
- 18:47his twenty twenty three self titled album. But you have
- 18:51to wonder how do these young men feel about the
- 18:53state of country music themselves. They might revitalize the sound
- 18:57but would they revitalize the sentiments of outlaws like William
- 19:00Whalen or their nineties country heroes like George Strait and
- 19:03alex Alan Jackson, who famously sang the country protest song
- 19:08Murder on Music Row, written by Larry Cordle and Larry
- 19:11shell Well. On Friday night, the twenty eighth February, we
- 19:15got our answer. Nashville in general has a real good
- 19:17knack for ruining country music, Zach Top said while introducing
- 19:21Jake Worthington to the stage, and then right there on
- 19:24stage of the Country Music Mother Church, the two sang
- 19:26their own version of Murder on Music Row. It also
- 19:30happened to be a damn fine version of the song
- 19:32as well, says Saving Country Music, showcasing the stellar voices
- 19:35of the two young men. Also on Friday, country legend
- 19:38Mark Chesnutt took to Facebook randomly and declared, after a
- 19:42long long time of thinking that my kind of country
- 19:45music was gone forever, I finally have hope. That hope
- 19:49is Zach Top. He's single handedly bringing real country music back.
- 19:52George Jones would call him the real deal. Jessnut said
- 19:57similar things about Jake Worthington at the twenty twenty four
- 20:00two Step in Festival and if Mark ches Nut is
- 20:02praising you, you know you've earned it. The collaboration some
- 20:05people have been anticipating is Billy Strings and Zach Topp
- 20:08taking the stage together, especially since Top just released a
- 20:12three song EP showcasing Strings. Since Billy and Zach were
- 20:16busy playing their own shows Friday and Saturday that night,
- 20:19there was no opportunity for a collaboration. But on Sunday,
- 20:22Strings is playing his own rhyman show and Zack Top
- 20:25is off. We'll have to see if Zach Top shows
- 20:27up for that one. Next Clint Black announces back on
- 20:33the Blacktop Tour. The flunkies over at the Country Music
- 20:37Hall of Fame have yet to do what's right and
- 20:40put Clint Black's bronze face on the wall. But true
- 20:43country music fans don't need any symbolic plaudits to be
- 20:46sold on the idea that Clint Black is nothing short
- 20:49of a living country legend, and as a member of
- 20:51the Class of eighty nine and a neo traditionalist, Black
- 20:55helped save country music in the nineties. Clint Black might
- 20:58be a legend, but he's no student over ailing character
- 21:01ambling onto a stool on stage. You still get everything
- 21:05you want out of Clint Black performance as he runs
- 21:07through his twenty two number one hits and others that
- 21:09should have been. That's why, if you're willing and able,
- 21:12you should see him on his Back to the Black
- 21:14or Back on the Black Top tour, which was just
- 21:16announced for twenty twenty five. Along with performances its scores
- 21:21of amphitheaters and small arenas. The tour also takes Clint
- 21:24Black to the Outlaws and Legends Music Festival in Abilene, Texas,
- 21:28the historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Tennessee, and the
- 21:32Windstock Country Music Festival in Minnesota. He'll be joined, of course,
- 21:36by his longtime co writer and lead guitarist Hayden Nichols
- 21:39and the rest of the Clint Black Band. Now he
- 21:43will be in Kentucky in a place I've never heard of,
- 21:45and that's in New Haven, Kentucky. And that's on June eighth.
- 21:48The amp at log still yes that I've heard of
- 21:52June eighth, New Haven, Kentucky. Now let's side step over
- 21:56to the boot dot com with the first article dated
- 21:59March third word, the Grand Old Opry has made a
- 22:02big change with the help of Vince Gill. The Grand
- 22:05Old Opry has been a staple in American country music
- 22:08culture since nineteen twenty five, and one thing on the
- 22:12hollowed stage has only been swapped out four times in
- 22:15the venue's one hundred year history. The Opry just unveiled
- 22:19a fifth redesigned for the iconic microphone stand, and they
- 22:22tapped Vince Gill to help them show it off. On Saturday,
- 22:26March first, Gil joined a star studded line up as
- 22:29part of the Opry's one hundred year celebration, and that's
- 22:32when the new microphone stand made its debut. The Grand
- 22:35Old Opry's Facebook has shared the fully produced video of
- 22:37the actual mic stand being wheeled to the stage area.
- 22:41Then when the curtain finally comes up, its Gill playing
- 22:43and singing into it for the first time. Then there's
- 22:47the beautiful picture posted by Country Wire, captioned the mic
- 22:51stand at the Oprey is an iconic symbol of country
- 22:53music and this is just the fifth time the mic
- 22:56stand has been redesigned since nineteen twenty five. The Opry
- 23:01choosing Gill for the unveiling was the right choice. The
- 23:03country icon has been a member of the Grand Old
- 23:05Opry since nineteen ninety one, just two years after his
- 23:09iconic Opry debut. It's hard to find a solid count
- 23:12of the number of times he's performed there in all
- 23:14those years. It's in the one hundreds, though, as Gill
- 23:17made his one hundredth appearance in nineteen ninety eight, he
- 23:19could even be pushing two hundred next, Randy Travis extends
- 23:24his twenty twenty five More Life Tour with thirty new dates.
- 23:29Randy Travis fans have thirty more chances to see him
- 23:32on the road this year. The Forever and Ever Amen's
- 23:34Singers More Life Tour will now last into November. After
- 23:39a successful spring run wraps up in May, the tour
- 23:43will take a summer break before returning in Denver on
- 23:45August twenty first. From there, Travis and the band will
- 23:48keep a heavy schedule in September, October November. James Duprey
- 23:52will be singing the hits in front of Travis' original band,
- 23:55the Country Music Hall of Fame, and a Famer and
- 23:58his wife will be on stage for each show, interacting
- 24:01with the band and celebrating the music. Set lists from
- 24:05previous shows find most of Travis well known hits will
- 24:07be included. For example, setlist dot FM shows twenty two
- 24:11songs played during a February eighth concert in Scottsdale, digging
- 24:15up Bones, If I Didn't have You. On the other hand,
- 24:17I Told You So and three Wooden Crosses all make
- 24:21the cut. Also included is where that came from, a
- 24:24twenty twenty four release from Travis that was created using AI.
- 24:28The moment created some controversy upon its release, as fans
- 24:31are still very distrusting of AI when it comes to music.
- 24:35In the end, many still objected to it unless it
- 24:37was used where no other option was possible, as is
- 24:40the case for Travis, who had a stroke and lost
- 24:42his singing voice more than ten years ago. And let's
- 24:46see Ashland, Kentucky on March twenty second at the Paramount
- 24:50Theater is where the Randy Travis Band will be and
- 24:53then also at Renfro Valley on April twelfth at the
- 24:56Renfro Valley Entertainment Center. And we've got another list this week,
- 25:01the thirty most depressing country songs of all time, ranked
- 25:06by the Boot. What makes a country song truly depressing?
- 25:09It's the kind of song that doesn't have a silver
- 25:11lining anywhere, no matter how hard you look. In compiling
- 25:14this list of countries' music's most depressing songs, ever, the
- 25:17Boot left out a lot of great sad songs simply
- 25:20because they had an element of hope or redemption. In
- 25:23order to make the cut, these thirty tracks had to
- 25:25be pretty downright bleak. They tell the stories of people
- 25:27who are stuck in their difficult or tragic circumstances with
- 25:31no hope of finding a positive spin on this situation.
- 25:34All right, let's begin this long list. Number thirty Shanaya

- 25:47Broken Heartsville Joe Nichols. Number twenty eight Brett Young, You Didn't.
