- 0:18Speaker 1: I have Ellie and Emily joining me right now. We're
- 0:21Speaker 1: going to talk about this back to school fundraiser concert
- 0:23Speaker 1: Caid Thompson and this Ellie is going to be in Peer,
- 0:27Speaker 1: is that right?
- 0:27Speaker 2: That's right, John, It's going to be this Friday, August fourteenth.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's a back to school fundraiser concert with South Dakota
- 0:34Speaker 2: Kids Belong at New Life Assembly of God Church in
- 0:37Speaker 2: Peer and.
- 0:39Speaker 1: South Dakota Kids Belong. This is a statewide organization. So
- 0:42Speaker 1: you guys do things in the Black Hills, you'll do
- 0:44Speaker 1: things and Sioux Falls, but this one happens to be
- 0:45Speaker 1: in Peer. Wherever you happen to be listening, You're invited
- 0:48Speaker 1: to join them on Friday, and this is going to
- 0:51Speaker 1: be a great concert. Now, do you know Caid Emily?
- 0:54Speaker 3: I don't know him personally, but I think it's likely
- 0:59Speaker 3: that many people listening could know him, okay, because he's
- 1:03Speaker 3: from Sue Falls. Oh, he is a South Dakota native,
- 1:07Speaker 3: And I think that that's so cool. We're excited to
- 1:10Speaker 3: invite him and join him in peer because it's actually
- 1:13Speaker 3: his first time there. Nice.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That's very cool. But he's he's kind of known all
- 1:17Speaker 1: over the place. And Ellie pointed to Emily, She's like,
- 1:20Speaker 1: you're gonna talk about Kate. I thought maybe you guys
- 1:22Speaker 1: were like chums or something.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I wish that's we actually one day just.
- 1:27Speaker 2: A few really cool tips. One hundred and twenty one
- 1:30Speaker 2: million Lifetime streams across all platforms. Its songs like Good
- 1:34Speaker 2: God and Arms of Jesus, even songs out this week
- 1:37Speaker 2: and this month new Christian radio single That's what the
- 1:41Speaker 2: Cross Is for a lot of people are really enjoying
- 1:43Speaker 2: this song. And he's toured with some of Christian's music
- 1:48Speaker 2: biggest artists like Chris Tomlin, Toby Mack, Newsboys, Michael W. Smith,
- 1:53Speaker 2: probably a lot of the ones here in Sue Falls,
- 1:55Speaker 2: maybe through Lifelight Festival. That people are familiar with the.
- 1:59Speaker 1: People you know in life. And the nice thing about
- 2:01Speaker 1: South Dakota kids Belong. This is a part of America's
- 2:04Speaker 1: Kids Belong and they support foster and adoptive families across
- 2:08Speaker 1: the state. And when you join them on Friday for
- 2:10Speaker 1: this concert, you are supporting foster and adoptive families. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: if there's somebody listening right now, Ellie and they're like,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, I would love to help, but I can't
- 2:17Speaker 1: make it there on Friday. Already have plans, I got
- 2:19Speaker 1: this other thing. They could still help though, right they
- 2:21Speaker 1: can make a donation to help.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Absolutely, So there is a simple, easy way for people
- 2:27Speaker 2: to be involved. They can go visit our website and
- 2:30Speaker 2: learn more about volunteer opportunities, ways to partner, become a
- 2:34Speaker 2: foster friendly business or a foster friendly church, learn about
- 2:38Speaker 2: our programs and services, and then yes, donate. Donate to
- 2:43Speaker 2: support South Dcota Kids Belong because, like John said, these
- 2:46Speaker 2: proceeds go directly towards the nonprofit. This is statewide, so
- 2:51Speaker 2: we're able to help work to improve experiences and outcomes
- 2:54Speaker 2: where children and families involved in foster care all across
- 2:57Speaker 2: the state.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And if there's somebody who maybe it's and have been
- 3:00Speaker 1: on their heart for a while going I would like
- 3:02Speaker 1: to get involved maybe their kids are grown and moved on,
- 3:04Speaker 1: or maybe they've just never had the opportunity to have kids,
- 3:07Speaker 1: but they're going I would kind of like to be
- 3:09Speaker 1: a foster family or an adoptive family. Can they do
- 3:12Speaker 1: that right through South Dakota Kids Belong. Can they get
- 3:14Speaker 1: the information and sign up to help out?
- 3:16Speaker 2: So we have a great website Sdkidsbelong dot org that
- 3:21Speaker 2: is going to be able to provide all the information
- 3:23Speaker 2: on support advocacy program services, especially things like the Eye
- 3:28Speaker 2: Belong Project, the RAP program, all across the state, things
- 3:32Speaker 2: that we're doing to partner with initiatives in South Dakota.
- 3:35Speaker 2: So definitely encourage listeners to go to Sdkidsbelong dot org.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Very nice. And if you would like to get more
- 3:42Speaker 1: information about the concert that's coming up on Friday, there
- 3:46Speaker 1: is a Facebook event set up for that and I've
- 3:48Speaker 1: shared that on our Facebook page, but they can also
- 3:50Speaker 1: probably find that on that same website.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Right absolutely, so we encourage people to go on the
- 3:55Speaker 2: Facebook page again. Tickets are ten dollars per person, open
- 3:59Speaker 2: to everyone. All ages for this event are encouraged families,
- 4:02Speaker 2: community members, businesses, foster care advocates. We want this to
- 4:06Speaker 2: be a very family friendly event. There is all the
- 4:09Speaker 2: details again listed on the site. Doors open at six
- 4:13Speaker 2: thirty and our concert starts at seven and a fun fact,
- 4:17Speaker 2: we will have a silent auction happening also, so you
- 4:21Speaker 2: can bid on those items to help support s SDKB
- 4:24Speaker 2: as well.
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's really cool again, South Code Kids Belong, great organization.
- 4:28Speaker 1: We've had Ellie in here in the past. And there's
- 4:30Speaker 1: a young lady from the western half of the state.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of her name right now, the
- 4:35Speaker 1: director of.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Some doors car.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we've talked to her. Super nice lady and again
- 4:39Speaker 1: just such a kind hearted person and the wonderful things
- 4:42Speaker 1: this organization does. If you can support them financially, this
- 4:46Speaker 1: is a great way to do it. Again, God has
- 4:48Speaker 1: some fun at a concert on Friday in Peer and
- 4:51Speaker 1: then if you can't make it Peer but you still
- 4:53Speaker 1: want to support financially. Sdkidsbelong dot org. Is that correct?
- 4:57Speaker 2: That's correct. Sd Kids Belong dot. They can find out
- 5:01Speaker 2: all the information on there as well.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Very nice.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Well, thank you for coming in. Ellie, you appreciate you
- 5:05Speaker 1: being here. And Emily, thanks for coming for the first time.
- 5:07Speaker 3: All the right absolutely, she.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Was a little nervous she'd never done radio before, and
- 5:11Speaker 1: I said, I can make it easy and I'm going
- 5:12Speaker 1: to ask some really tough questions what's a square root of?
- 5:15Speaker 2: And we both sing, so it's perfect.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I know we're gonna have to have you guys singing
- 5:18Speaker 1: in here sometimes.
- 5:19Speaker 2: That's right.
- 5:20Speaker 1: South Dakota Kids Belong. If you would like to learn more,
- 5:23Speaker 1: Caid Thompson fundraiser concert this Friday. Again, all of the
- 5:26Speaker 1: details on our Facebook page. Sdkidsbelong dot Org is the

- 5:38Speaker 1: And you had one other thing I did.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Sorry nice, I mentioned, so I do want to not forget.
- 5:44Speaker 2: We have a co presenting sponsor for this event. It's
- 5:47Speaker 2: DJ's Convenience Store in Peer, very nice and honestly they
- 5:51Speaker 2: have been a huge help for this event. We would
- 5:53Speaker 2: not be able to host it as well without their support,
- 5:58Speaker 2: so we just wanted to give a huge shower out
- 6:00Speaker 2: DJ's Convenience Store in Peer.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And if you're in Peer or passing through, you can
- 6:07Speaker 3: actually stop in DJ's Convenience Store and buy tickets on site.
- 6:10Speaker 3: They have physical tickets right there for you.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And if you're driving to Peer from Sue Falls, before
- 6:15Speaker 1: you leave Peer, fill up at DJ's convenience store, yes, right,
- 6:18Speaker 1: and you make it back home. Otherwise you have to,
- 6:20Speaker 1: like you know, somewhere on the side of the road,
- 6:21Speaker 1: call and get a ride and just fill up before
- 6:24Speaker 1: you leave. That'll be the way to do it all
- 6:25Speaker 1: right again. All the details at Facebook dot com slash
