- 0:01Speaker 1: On tonight's program. Obviously, we're going to continue talking about
- 0:05Speaker 1: the lawsuits settlement between Virginia Roberts and Prince Andrew. Now,
- 0:11Speaker 1: all of the terms are still unclear. There has been
- 0:14Speaker 1: reports out there. Some people were speculating when it first
- 0:17Speaker 1: broke that it would be about ten million dollars. I
- 0:20Speaker 1: said that was a little light. So today there are
- 0:23Speaker 1: reports out that are saying that the settlement is a
- 0:27Speaker 1: little bit more significant than that ten million dollar mark. Now,
- 0:32Speaker 1: I figured it would be around fourteen to seventeen million
- 0:35Speaker 1: American US dollars good coal, hard cash, and the reports
- 0:40Speaker 1: are coming out today and it's falling right around in
- 0:42Speaker 1: that range. It looks like. Now obviously the terms of
- 0:46Speaker 1: the deal are not disclosed as per the agreement, but
- 0:50Speaker 1: that is what the rumor mill is talking about, and
- 0:54Speaker 1: that is right around the number I would expect because
- 0:58Speaker 1: it would take something monstrous right to knock Virginia off
- 1:02Speaker 1: of her perch to come to the table and settle
- 1:06Speaker 1: with Prince Andrew. But you know that behind the scenes,
- 1:09Speaker 1: her people were negotiating with his people. It wasn't just
- 1:12Speaker 1: some kind of like standoff, right, That wasn't happening. That's
- 1:16Speaker 1: not how this works, and they came to agreement, an
- 1:20Speaker 1: agreement behind the scenes. Obviously that was acceptable to Virginia
- 1:25Speaker 1: and to her team. Now, Prince Andrew, he was in
- 1:29Speaker 1: a no good situation no matter how you chop it
- 1:32Speaker 1: at this point, and the fact that he pumped this
- 1:34Speaker 1: and pushed this for so long and dragged this out
- 1:38Speaker 1: did nothing but hurt him. And for all of the
- 1:41Speaker 1: money he was paying, all of those people over in
- 1:44Speaker 1: the UK blocks him and the rest of them, he
- 1:46Speaker 1: should ask for a refund because if it wasn't for
- 1:49Speaker 1: Brettler and the council he got from Lavely Singer Dudeen,
- 1:55Speaker 1: he'd have been sunk one hundred percent goose cooked because
- 1:58Speaker 1: the people who were advised him over in England obviously
- 2:02Speaker 1: do not know their ass from their elbow. I'm certainly
- 2:06Speaker 1: not a lawyer or a crisis evaluation manager, but I
- 2:10Speaker 1: know when you're not reading the temperature of the room,
- 2:13Speaker 1: have a little bit of common sense. And the way
- 2:15Speaker 1: the dude went about it was completely ridiculous. He is
- 2:22Speaker 1: really lucky that he had Bretler and hired Bretler to
- 2:26Speaker 1: step in, because at least he got his money's worth there.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Because the people over in England, the people in the
- 2:33Speaker 1: UK that were advising him, they absolutely derailed this dude. Now,
- 2:38Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, I'm sure he is his own
- 2:40Speaker 1: worst enemy, right he's the one that makes the final call.
- 2:44Speaker 1: But his advisors should have told him and been very
- 2:47Speaker 1: firm with him that this was a losing proposition from
- 2:50Speaker 1: the very beginning, and then to come out with the
- 2:54Speaker 1: whole entire scorched earth policy like he's Jengis Khan all
- 2:58Speaker 1: of a sudden is ridiculous going to win. So them
- 3:03Speaker 1: settling and him settling was the only option at this point.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But it is very harmful moving forward, for obviously him,
- 3:13Speaker 1: but for the whole Royal family. Make no mistake about that.
- 3:18Speaker 1: There was a point in time where something like this
- 3:21Speaker 1: was not even imaginable. It was unimaginable, right that the
- 3:25Speaker 1: Royal family, someone from the Royal family could be caught
- 3:27Speaker 1: up in a scandal such as this. But here we
- 3:30Speaker 1: are and they're being exposed. And really, folks, what it
- 3:33Speaker 1: comes down to is they're just regular people like the
- 3:37Speaker 1: rest of us. They're not special. What because they were
- 3:40Speaker 1: born in a certain bloodline, they're special. All of a sudden,
- 3:44Speaker 1: breaking news at the end of the day, the Kings,
- 3:48Speaker 1: the queens, and the ponds, well, we all go back
- 3:51Speaker 1: into the same box. And it's about time that these
- 3:55Speaker 1: people remembered that. And for Andrew, and for the whole
- 4:02Speaker 1: entire nonsensical charade he was putting on for this whole time,
- 4:06Speaker 1: he should be embarrassed. Honestly, he won't be, but he
- 4:09Speaker 1: should be dragging his mom through this, dragging the nation
- 4:13Speaker 1: through this, dragging the people of the UK through this.
- 4:17Speaker 1: And now, of course the question is going to be,
- 4:19Speaker 1: how's he going to pay for all of this? Obviously
- 4:22Speaker 1: the Queen's going to step in and throw him a
- 4:25Speaker 1: couple bucks. And we all know that the royal family
- 4:28Speaker 1: has a bunch of benefactors out there that would step
- 4:30Speaker 1: in in a second to pay this bill, to get
- 4:34Speaker 1: the spotlight, if you will, off of the Queen. So
- 4:38Speaker 1: I'm very interested to see how this goes down as
- 4:40Speaker 1: far as the payment, and I would hope that not
- 4:43Speaker 1: one single dollar of public money is used here, because
- 4:48Speaker 1: that would be something else. I mean, I can't even
- 4:51Speaker 1: imagine the uproar if tax dollars are used to pay
- 4:54Speaker 1: for a to settle a rape case for the Prince
- 4:57Speaker 1: of England, yeah, I think that cause quite the uh,
- 5:01Speaker 1: quite the Maelstrom. All right, So tonight we have an
- 5:06Speaker 1: article from the Independent and the author is Omid Scobie. Headline,
- 5:13Speaker 1: Prince Andrew did what only the privileged elite can do.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Everyone will suffer for it. And it's a fact, right,
- 5:19Speaker 1: none of us can pay to get our way out
- 5:20Speaker 1: of trouble. If you get into trouble, every single dollar
- 5:24Speaker 1: you have is going to go to your lawyers. I mean,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you're in America anyway. If you're paying for a lawyer,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you're going to be in quite the whole to start out.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Even so, we can't afford to, you know, pay people off.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But people like Prince Andrew, this is the lifeblood of
- 5:40Speaker 1: these disgusting sons of bitches. Back in October, Prince Andrew's
- 5:47Speaker 1: lawyers unleashed in an aggressive move usually only seen during
- 5:51Speaker 1: the heated final days of a US presidential election, and
- 5:55Speaker 1: appo dump, the technique usually performed by flailing policy titians
- 6:00Speaker 1: seeking to undermine their opponents as swiftly and brutally as possible,
- 6:04Speaker 1: is a classic, if all else fells move of releasing
- 6:08Speaker 1: information and igniting a narrative on an opponent to try
- 6:12Speaker 1: and discredit or weaken them. Sounds familiar, right, That's exactly
- 6:16Speaker 1: what Prince Andrew did. Him and his team. They unleashed
- 6:19Speaker 1: that scorched earth policy like I told you was coming.
- 6:22Speaker 1: How long have I been saying it? Because it was
- 6:24Speaker 1: all they had, right, and they painted themselves even deeper
- 6:29Speaker 1: into the corner if you could believe it. Their target
- 6:34Speaker 1: was the Prince's accuser, Virginia Roberts, and they hoped it
- 6:37Speaker 1: would result in her claim that the Duke of York
- 6:40Speaker 1: had sexually assaulted her three times at the age of
- 6:42Speaker 1: seventeen coming into doubt. See what they forgot, though, was
- 6:46Speaker 1: Virginia had been through all of this already. Do you
- 6:49Speaker 1: think that Prince Andrew is more shrewd than Jeffrey Epstein?
- 6:54Speaker 1: And as great as Brettler is over there at Lovely
- 6:57Speaker 1: and Singer, he's certainly not an under handed scuzball like Dershowitz.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So Virginia Roberts has been through the ringer already, dealing
- 7:05Speaker 1: with people like this, dealing with all sorts of allegations,
- 7:10Speaker 1: all sorts of people trying to demean her character, all
- 7:13Speaker 1: sorts of people dragging her name through the mud. You
- 7:16Speaker 1: think the Joe exotic of the Windsor family is going
- 7:20Speaker 1: to make her fear stepping up to the plate here,
- 7:24Speaker 1: It wasn't going to happen. And when they figured out
- 7:27Speaker 1: that they weren't going to be able to bully, that
- 7:29Speaker 1: the narrative that they were being certainly wasn't going to
- 7:32Speaker 1: be bought by the general public, they knew that it
- 7:35Speaker 1: was time to eject. Time to pull up a pin
- 7:39Speaker 1: and eject right out of this mofo, because this plane
- 7:42Speaker 1: is going down. And when your number one surrogate is
- 7:45Speaker 1: somebody who's out there talking about all kinds of weird
- 7:47Speaker 1: conspiracy theories as it is Lady Victoria Hervey, then you
- 7:51Speaker 1: know you're in big trouble. She was. Andrew's lawyers described
- 8:01Speaker 1: a payday chasing attention seeker that the Prince had never
- 8:04Speaker 1: even met. Her lawsuit, they said was completely baseless. Pretty funny, huh,
- 8:09Speaker 1: that's what he was asserting. Now, fast forward to today
- 8:13Speaker 1: and he's in the hole for about, oh, I don't know,
- 8:16Speaker 1: fourteen seventeen million dollars, looking like an absolute asshole, because remember,
- 8:21Speaker 1: innocent people aren't paying not this kind of money. Innocent
- 8:25Speaker 1: people don't do and act the way Prince Andrew acted,
- 8:31Speaker 1: nobody's got nobody who's innocent is doing that. And now
- 8:36Speaker 1: with all of that nonsense he put in that letter,
- 8:39Speaker 1: even just recently, he never met her. It was completely baseless.
- 8:43Speaker 1: All of a sudden, you're ponying up all this money. Huh,
- 8:46Speaker 1: sure looks real good. So it came as somewhat of
- 8:50Speaker 1: a surprise to see just one hundred and nine days
- 8:53Speaker 1: later the Queen's son tail between his legs, stating that
- 8:56Speaker 1: he had never intended to malign Miss Roberts's character and
- 9:00Speaker 1: that he accepts she has suffered as a victim of abuse.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Oh isn't that nice? The good old Prince, the hugger
- 9:08Speaker 1: of widows, the friend to orphans, the man of the people,
- 9:16Speaker 1: is going to accept that she has suffered abuse as
- 9:20Speaker 1: a victim. I mean, really, we can all just stop
- 9:24Speaker 1: our lives now because Prince Andrew has decided to accept reality.
- 9:32Speaker 1: More importantly, the Duke's words were delivered alongside an out
- 9:35Speaker 1: of court settlement just shy of twelve million pounds. Okay,
- 9:39Speaker 1: so there you go. In this article, it's talking about
- 9:42Speaker 1: that twelve million pound mark two and that would not
- 9:44Speaker 1: get into that range. The fourteen seventeen. It came with
- 9:48Speaker 1: no further denial or admission to Robert's claims, just the
- 9:51Speaker 1: meek promise of supporting the fight against the evils of
- 9:54Speaker 1: sex trafficking. Yeah, I don't. You're not welcomed, honestly, guy
- 9:59Speaker 1: like that that has no business acting as an advocate
- 10:02Speaker 1: for sex trafficking victims. Are you kidding me? Right now?
- 10:06Speaker 1: This dude needs to go and retire on whatever piece
- 10:09Speaker 1: of land that his family deems proper for him to
- 10:13Speaker 1: have and have zero to do with the public ever again,
- 10:16Speaker 1: for as long as he lives. The mountain of cash,
- 10:25Speaker 1: a significant portion of which came from the Bank of
- 10:27Speaker 1: Mummy Dearest to be donated to Robert's anti sex trafficking charity,
- 10:31Speaker 1: was so high the accuser couldn't possibly say no. And
- 10:35Speaker 1: that's what they did, right. It came down to the
- 10:39Speaker 1: Prince and his team having to throw a boatload of
- 10:42Speaker 1: money at Virginia. And that's really the result that you're
- 10:46Speaker 1: looking for in a settlement, right, what's the purpose of
- 10:48Speaker 1: bringing a lawsuit against somebody if you're not looking for
- 10:52Speaker 1: damages to be paid at the end. And if you're
- 10:55Speaker 1: going to get damages paid, you have to make sure
- 10:58Speaker 1: it really rocks them right, make sure it hurts them
- 11:00Speaker 1: in the pocketbook, And this kind of claim and this
- 11:05Speaker 1: kind of payout certainly does that. Obviously, it takes away
- 11:09Speaker 1: a bit of the sting when you're already stinking rich
- 11:12Speaker 1: and you have Mummy Darius showing up to help pay
- 11:15Speaker 1: the bills. But still it's a real bad look for
- 11:18Speaker 1: Prince Andrew, and it validates everything Virginia had to say
- 11:21Speaker 1: about this. Dude, you mean to tell me you're paying
- 11:25Speaker 1: out all this money, suffering all of this shame if
- 11:27Speaker 1: you didn't do anything stop it. I don't believe that
- 11:32Speaker 1: over ninety percent of civil cases filed in US federal
- 11:35Speaker 1: court result in a settlement, so it was almost inevitable
- 11:39Speaker 1: that Robert's lawsuit would boil down to a pre trial payout.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Fact always figured that this was something that could happen. Right,
- 11:46Speaker 1: if the number was monstrous, and Prince Andrew would be
- 11:50Speaker 1: willing to meet them at a place that is Everest High,
- 11:54Speaker 1: then certainly this would be the outcome. But I always
- 11:58Speaker 1: was wondering if Andrew would be able to come up
- 12:00Speaker 1: with those kind of finances. Where's he getting all that money? Unless,
- 12:04Speaker 1: of course Mummy is stepping in, and we know that
- 12:06Speaker 1: to be the case now, but given out furiously, Andrew
- 12:11Speaker 1: had denied the allegations. It was a curious move to
- 12:14Speaker 1: settle with a woman. His staff at once briefed the
- 12:16Speaker 1: journalists as having doctored a photo of the two together
- 12:20Speaker 1: just to make her story more convincing. Yeah, sounds about right. Huh,
- 12:25Speaker 1: That's exactly what he did. Him and his team tried
- 12:28Speaker 1: to paint it like Virginia's out here working for Adobe Photoshop,
- 12:32Speaker 1: like Virginia created Adobe Photoshop, and then the insanity to
- 12:36Speaker 1: drag other survivors into it, talking about this one's emailing
- 12:40Speaker 1: this one. What an absolute ridiculous narrative his surrogates were pitching.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I mean, we're talking q Ann level bullshit, folks, the
- 12:49Speaker 1: kind of stuff that Alex Jones will look at and say, oh, listen,
- 12:52Speaker 1: Cursy's dirt. Andrew was less than four weeks away from
- 12:58Speaker 1: a deposition with Robert's low layers. Didn't you want to
- 13:01Speaker 1: use that moment to fight for his innocence, a final
- 13:04Speaker 1: chance to prove he didn't do the heinous things he
- 13:06Speaker 1: had been accused of. I know, if faced with the
- 13:09Speaker 1: same predicament, I would, and the author is not wrong.
- 13:12Speaker 1: How long have I been saying that real men don't
- 13:15Speaker 1: run from shit like this. Real men step up to
- 13:17Speaker 1: the plate and they deal with the issues, and if
- 13:20Speaker 1: they caused mayhem, and they've caused a mess, they clean
- 13:22Speaker 1: it up. But Prince Andrew isn't a real man. Real
- 13:26Speaker 1: men don't have the hired help come running up the
- 13:28Speaker 1: stairs to fix the curtains. Real men don't make the
- 13:32Speaker 1: kind of comments he made to those massage therapists. That's
- 13:35Speaker 1: somebody's mother, somebody's daughter, somebody's wife, and you're out here
- 13:38Speaker 1: running your fat, stupid mouth like you're a tough guy.
- 13:41Speaker 1: That's the kind of shit that gets you that three
- 13:44Speaker 1: piece combo with a soda where I'm from. While much
- 13:48Speaker 1: of the media coverage has focused around Andrew's statement, a
- 13:52Speaker 1: sympathetic narrative is already starting to emerge from the boot
- 13:55Speaker 1: liquors of the Royal Press Corps and its orbit of
- 13:58Speaker 1: commentators had attempts to explain Andrew's decision not to clear
- 14:02Speaker 1: his name because he shivals chival chival It shiver chivalrously
- 14:08Speaker 1: wanted to prioritize protecting the Royal institution and his ninety
- 14:12Speaker 1: five year old mother from the further shame. Oh yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: that's exactly what it is. He's just so so magnanimous,
- 14:20Speaker 1: such a chival chivalrous guy, that he's going to get
- 14:22Speaker 1: out here and he wants to protect mom's name. So
- 14:25Speaker 1: he's stepping up to the plate. Now here's an idea.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Why didn't you do that in the beginning. Why didn't
- 14:31Speaker 1: you step up to the plate in the very beginning
- 14:33Speaker 1: and say, hey, look, this is my part in this.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I was around Jeffrey Epstein, I had no idea these
- 14:39Speaker 1: were underage girls, and I want to help the investigation.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And still to this day, let's remember, he has not
- 14:45Speaker 1: helped the investigation one single bit, not at all. The
- 14:52Speaker 1: quick settlement, royal sources have added, has been a huge
- 14:55Speaker 1: relief for the family. With the platinum jew Beleieze so close,
- 14:59Speaker 1: how hard it must have been for them. Oh imagine
- 15:02Speaker 1: the difficulty of all of this as they swim around
- 15:07Speaker 1: in their money wearing the crown jewels of the royal family.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You know, is that difficulty The people who were abused
- 15:13Speaker 1: by Jeffrey Epstein, those people, they've had a difficult life.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Not Prince Andrew, not any of these people. Again, I
- 15:20Speaker 1: have zero empathy for any of these people who were
- 15:23Speaker 1: born into great privilege, great wealth and squandered it on
- 15:27Speaker 1: bullshit hanging out with people like Jeffrey Epstein and Galainne Maxwell.
- 15:33Speaker 1: The thing is, no matter how you try to polish it,
- 15:35Speaker 1: there's no way to hide the fact that HRH less
- 15:38Speaker 1: Andrew continues to swan around, taking no responsibility for his behavior.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Taxpayer funded security team still at his beck and call,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and how is that even right? And I try not
- 15:50Speaker 1: to get too involved in any of that. Obviously I'm
- 15:52Speaker 1: not a subject of the Queen or a citizen of
- 15:57Speaker 1: the UK, but I find it ridiculous that this guy
- 16:01Speaker 1: is using public money to have a security detail. Hire
- 16:05Speaker 1: your own security detail, Bro, You're charged with all kinds
- 16:08Speaker 1: of disgusting allegations. But the dude who moved to America
- 16:12Speaker 1: in his chick they got to pay for their own security.
- 16:15Speaker 1: So leaving the royal family is more of a sin
- 16:18Speaker 1: than being involved with Jeffrey Epstein. Huh, that's the message
- 16:21Speaker 1: you want to show. While we are unlikely to hear
- 16:26Speaker 1: Roberts speak about the civil case for the foreseeable future,
- 16:30Speaker 1: flicking away her claims with his gilded checkbook won't change
- 16:34Speaker 1: the very real fact that the royal enjoyed and invested
- 16:37Speaker 1: in close friendships with two sex traffickers who destroyed the
- 16:41Speaker 1: innocent lives of Roberts and countless other children and women
- 16:46Speaker 1: in the hundreds. That's this dude's legacy. That's the legacy
- 16:50Speaker 1: he's going to leave, a legacy of absolute embarrassment for
- 16:57Speaker 1: the whole entire family. It also doesn't change the fact
- 17:03Speaker 1: that even after Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty for procuring persons
- 17:07Speaker 1: under eighteen for prostitution, Andrew saw no problem in returning
- 17:11Speaker 1: to the pedophile billionaires New York home in twenty and
- 17:15Speaker 1: ten to hang out and allegedly receive foot massages from
- 17:19Speaker 1: models of a similar age to his two daughters. And again,
- 17:23Speaker 1: it just goes to show you the kind of guy
- 17:25Speaker 1: we're dealing with. He has no shame, no moral compass.
- 17:28Speaker 1: He's been given everything his whole life totally. Everyone around
- 17:32Speaker 1: him has been a yes man or a yes woman,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and he's never known any sort of repercussions when he's
- 17:38Speaker 1: fucked up. You think this dude is getting grounded. I know,
- 17:42Speaker 1: when I was younger, if I got out of line,
- 17:45Speaker 1: and I swerved out of the lane. Forget it. Forget it,
- 17:49Speaker 1: zero chance that it was happening again. This dude, he
- 17:52Speaker 1: just feels like he can do whatever he wants, and
- 17:55Speaker 1: finally he's getting some repercussions. Finally he is going to
- 17:59Speaker 1: have to at the very least suffer and go down
- 18:04Speaker 1: in history as somebody who settled a sexual assault case
- 18:09Speaker 1: as opposed to try and clear his name. If Andrew
- 18:15Speaker 1: really cared about rape survivors, like his statement claims, there
- 18:19Speaker 1: also wouldn't still be a material witness warrant for him
- 18:22Speaker 1: in the US more than two years since he promised
- 18:25Speaker 1: to speak to the FBI about Epstein. How long have
- 18:29Speaker 1: we been talking about that here on the podcast? And
- 18:31Speaker 1: when I say me, all of us, everybody who's following
- 18:35Speaker 1: this case, it's been a huge point of contention. If
- 18:38Speaker 1: you really want to help, and you're this guy who's
- 18:40Speaker 1: gonna be doing the honorable thing, step up to the plate,
- 18:45Speaker 1: talk to the FBI, do the right thing. The dark
- 18:49Speaker 1: legal clouds that Andrew's mess threatened to cast over celebrations
- 18:53Speaker 1: for the Queen's Jubilee may be passing, but as the
- 18:56Speaker 1: funds for Robert's payout are prepared to transfer. The Royal
- 19:00Speaker 1: family is not shining bright. No, they're glowing, all right,
- 19:04Speaker 1: They're glowing with nuclear fallout. It's like Fukushima over there
- 19:07Speaker 1: at Buckingham Palace right now. Though it's understandable that a
- 19:12Speaker 1: parent may want to help a desperate and often broke
- 19:15Speaker 1: son in need, Andrew convincing our head of state to
- 19:18Speaker 1: privately cover close to half of the settlements some in
- 19:21Speaker 1: a civil rape case has resulted in a stain on
- 19:24Speaker 1: his mother's legacy in one of the most defining years
- 19:28Speaker 1: of her seven decade reign. Yikes, that's pretty powerful stuff
- 19:32Speaker 1: here from the author, and it's not wrong. Imagine if
- 19:37Speaker 1: you were the queen and you had this dunce of
- 19:39Speaker 1: a son ruining this for you. I don't I mean unbelievable.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And again it cracks me up that people close to
- 19:49Speaker 1: the queen or monarchists or whatever are so worried about
- 19:53Speaker 1: the stain it's going to hang over the jubilee celebration.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Well what about the stain hanging over those survivors' lives
- 19:59Speaker 1: for the rest of their lives. Guess what, There's no
- 20:02Speaker 1: jubilee celebration for them. It also raises the question that
- 20:09Speaker 1: if there's so much disposable private wealth hidden behind palace walls,
- 20:13Speaker 1: why should people of this country, many of whom are
- 20:16Speaker 1: struggling to heat their homes this winter, continue to dish
- 20:19Speaker 1: out an annual contribution to the royal establishment. Good question,
- 20:23Speaker 1: I mean, you got people starving in the streets. I'm
- 20:26Speaker 1: sure it's going the same over in England. Meanwhile, the
- 20:29Speaker 1: Queen is shelling out dough to help Prince Andrew quash
- 20:35Speaker 1: a rape case. It is absolutely absurd. With the Sussex
- 20:45Speaker 1: Sussex is gone, and Andrew permanently benched. There are fewer
- 20:49Speaker 1: working Royals than ever, Yet the sovereign grant that funds
- 20:53Speaker 1: the royal family continues to grow year on year. So
- 20:57Speaker 1: even as the royal family shrinks, the bank accounts grow. Huh,
- 21:00Speaker 1: must be nice they continue to get rich while the
- 21:03Speaker 1: rest of us get poor. Seems about right. The bunting
- 21:08Speaker 1: in street parties this June will serve as a nice distraction,
- 21:11Speaker 1: but at a time when the value and purpose of
- 21:14Speaker 1: the monarchy post Queen Elizabeth is coming under growing scrutiny
- 21:17Speaker 1: by the public. This, unlike Andrew's problems, won't be a
- 21:21Speaker 1: problem that can be silenced with money, and it's a
- 21:25Speaker 1: fact this is going to hang over the royal family
- 21:28Speaker 1: for quite some time, folks, And I don't know if
- 21:31Speaker 1: this stain will ever go away. Once the Queen is
- 21:36Speaker 1: gone and she passes on the scepter of rule to
- 21:40Speaker 1: her son, are the people going to be as willing
- 21:43Speaker 1: to accept nonsense from the royal family. I think a
- 21:47Speaker 1: lot of the sentiment that you see from some people
- 21:50Speaker 1: is specific to the queen and it has nothing to
- 21:53Speaker 1: do with the royals overall. And when she's gone and
- 21:56Speaker 1: her son is in control, I think it's going to
- 21:59Speaker 1: be real tough sledding for the monarchy moving forward. And
- 22:03Speaker 1: if you take a look at how the other royal
- 22:05Speaker 1: families around Europe have been pared down or done away
- 22:09Speaker 1: with overall, you can see the writing on the wall
- 22:12Speaker 1: for the English monarchy as well. So it's going to
- 22:15Speaker 1: be interesting to see how that all breaks, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 1: in the coming years and weeks or whatever. But it's
- 22:22Speaker 1: certainly showing that there are serious problems and the public
- 22:27Speaker 1: is not going to stand for it. The fact that
- 22:31Speaker 1: Prince Andrew was able to avoid scrutiny for so long
- 22:37Speaker 1: is something that is really just a gigantic stain on
- 22:41Speaker 1: not only him but the Queen because she enabled that right,
- 22:44Speaker 1: she could have forced the issue a long time ago,
- 22:46Speaker 1: so we have to remember that as well. But here
- 22:50Speaker 1: we are finally to a point where Prince Andrew is
- 22:54Speaker 1: basically admitting that he can't provide evidence to prove his innocence,
- 22:58Speaker 1: so he's going to settle out of court for a
- 23:00Speaker 1: gigantic eye popping sum that will not only dran his
- 23:04Speaker 1: bank account, but we'll cast a dark shadow over the
- 23:09Speaker 1: royal family for years to come. All right, folks, that's
- 23:14Speaker 1: gonna do it. For tonight's update, we'll be back tomorrow
- 23:17Speaker 1: morning following the story, still seeing where it goes, and
- 23:20Speaker 1: until then, obviously some context episodes are on the way.
