- 0:23Speaker 1: As we've gone over the SEC finding South Carolina, James
- 0:27Speaker 1: Franklin owning up to the loss against Ohio State, and
- 0:32Speaker 1: of course all your news on the Dallas Cowboys as
- 0:34Speaker 1: it is official. Dak Prescott a torn hamstring on the
- 0:40Speaker 1: short list for the IR Not on the IR yet,
- 0:43Speaker 1: but potentially could be as the trade deadline looms for
- 0:49Speaker 1: the NFL. But tonight the game of the night. It's
- 0:54Speaker 1: Monday Night Football. You wait for it all weekend. It's
- 0:57Speaker 1: Kansas City versus Tampa Bay. Buccaneers enter this game four
- 1:01Speaker 1: and four. The Chiefs, of course unbeaten. Now, the Buccaneers
- 1:05Speaker 1: this season have been a very good defensive team. They
- 1:10Speaker 1: have consistently been the type of team that can hold
- 1:14Speaker 1: on to big games like this. Now, the Chiefs open
- 1:17Speaker 1: up as a nine point favorite at home. Tampa Bay
- 1:21Speaker 1: has been kind of sold as the team to watch
- 1:25Speaker 1: in the NFC South, especially now when you consider how
- 1:29Speaker 1: quickly the New Orleans Saints have fallen apart. Dennis Allen
- 1:33Speaker 1: fired today as the Saints head coach. It will be
- 1:38Speaker 1: one of the things to keep an eye on is
- 1:43Speaker 1: how bad can the NFC South be or how bad
- 1:46Speaker 1: will the NFC South winner be? Now? The Bucks four
- 1:48Speaker 1: and four. They played tonight. The Atlanta Falcons take out
- 1:51Speaker 1: the Cowboys yesterday. They're six and three with Kirk o
- 1:54Speaker 1: Chain's Kirk Cousins, but fans know the calendar flips over
- 2:00Speaker 1: her Cousins struggles in the month of November trying to
- 2:07Speaker 1: get Yes, let's keep it moving here. Yes, the Kansas
- 2:10Speaker 1: City Chiefs, they've reached the point where they're trying to
- 2:12Speaker 1: make history every single week. Patrick Mahomes is the fastest
- 2:16Speaker 1: player in NFL history to reach thirty thousand yards. He
- 2:20Speaker 1: did that last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. Travis Kelce.
- 2:24Speaker 1: He's sitting one reception shy of passing Tony Gonzalez for
- 2:30Speaker 1: the franchise record in touchdown catches. The Chiefs are seven
- 2:35Speaker 1: to zero, the last unbeaten team in the league. If
- 2:38Speaker 1: they can continue, then will be winning their fourteenth game.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Going back to last season, Now, we all remember how
- 2:46Speaker 1: good of a team that that seven New England Patriots
- 2:49Speaker 1: team that went eighteen and one couldn't get the job
- 2:52Speaker 1: done in the championship game against the New York Giants.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But we are now sitting at that precipice. When you
- 3:00Speaker 1: look at the Chiefs schedule, they have a shot to
- 3:03Speaker 1: do the unthinkable. Now, again, seven to zero is not
- 3:06Speaker 1: necessarily nineteen and oh, but you look at their schedule.
- 3:12Speaker 1: They get done with the Bucks tonight, then they have
- 3:14Speaker 1: a game against the Denver Broncos at home. The next
- 3:17Speaker 1: tough test will be in Buffalo when they play the Bills.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That game is the seventeenth of November. The rest of
- 3:26Speaker 1: the schedule, though they have the Texans at home, they
- 3:28Speaker 1: got to go to Pittsburgh. But this is a doable
- 3:33Speaker 1: stretch of games for Kansas City. If they want to
- 3:36Speaker 1: try to win out, they might have the shot to
- 3:40Speaker 1: do it. They would be the team I think that
- 3:44Speaker 1: most would pick if there was ever going to be
- 3:46Speaker 1: a team that went undefeated. It feels fitting that the
- 3:50Speaker 1: Chiefs trying to get their third title in four years
- 3:53Speaker 1: would be that type of would be that team. They're
- 3:56Speaker 1: also trying to not only win their third title, they're
- 3:58Speaker 1: trying to win their fourth title in five years. Three peep.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It's helped that they brought back a Kareem Hunt. If
- 4:04Speaker 1: you remember, Hunt played most of his career in Cleveland,
- 4:07Speaker 1: playing very well. He has rejoined his old team. And
- 4:11Speaker 1: also the Chiefs made a massive trade. They brought in
- 4:14Speaker 1: DeAndre Hopkins, who had a very good career in Houston
- 4:18Speaker 1: before getting bounced around the league now with the Chiefs,
- 4:21Speaker 1: and according to Andy Reid, he has been shocked how
- 4:25Speaker 1: quickly these two have kind of come together. Most quarterbacks
- 4:30Speaker 1: need time to develop chemistry with their number one receiver.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But of course we saw last year the number one
- 4:37Speaker 1: receiver was essentially Travis Kelcey kind of I guess he
- 4:43Speaker 1: would be the number one receiver for Patrick Mahons. But
- 4:46Speaker 1: then the drop off between Kelsey and Juju Smith Schuster
- 4:50Speaker 1: was number two, right, there wasn't There's a huge drop
- 4:55Speaker 1: off from your one to year two. And this year's
- 4:58Speaker 1: team for the Chiefs, they've been able to to relax
- 5:01Speaker 1: on how much they need Travis kelce even with Rashid
- 5:04Speaker 1: Rice going out with the season and injury injury training
- 5:07Speaker 1: for Hopkins, even at an older age, makes sense. The
- 5:11Speaker 1: Chiefs look like the type of team that can really
- 5:14Speaker 1: make some noise. Of course they're gonna make some noise,
- 5:16Speaker 1: but they look like the type of team that can
- 5:17Speaker 1: make some noise when we continue to talk about them
- 5:19Speaker 1: in the precipice of history of the rest of the NFL.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So we're excited, but we'll see that game. That game
- 5:27Speaker 1: kicks off tonight seven to fifteen pm. Chiefs versus the
- 5:30Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Other headlines from today, of course, Dennis Allen,
- 5:35Speaker 1: the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, gets the can.
- 5:39Speaker 1: He is kicking the can down the road. He is
- 5:42Speaker 1: fired by the Saints in what was a move that
- 5:46Speaker 1: I think many people saw coming, which is disappointing for
- 5:50Speaker 1: Saints fans. You went into the season thinking, with how
- 5:54Speaker 1: well that you played the first two games of the
- 5:55Speaker 1: year with Kareem Hunt, or correction, with Alvin Kamara and
- 6:00Speaker 1: Derek hen and Derek Carr, this was the type of
- 6:03Speaker 1: team that could make potentially a little bit of a run.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Not the case. The Saints sit of two to seven,
- 6:08Speaker 1: the same record as the Carolina Panthers. That is not
- 6:12Speaker 1: the type of company that she won. Also, when you
- 6:16Speaker 1: look at the point differential for the Saints, this is bad.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They're in the bottom third of the league in point differential.
- 6:25Speaker 1: In fact, if this if the Panthers didn't exist, this
- 6:29Speaker 1: team is twenty two point differential in the negative. The
- 6:34Speaker 1: Panthers one hundred and forty six by far the worst
- 6:37Speaker 1: team in the NFL. But the Panthers coming off a win. Saints, however,
- 6:42Speaker 1: seven straight losses, So that makes sense why Dennis Allen
- 6:48Speaker 1: is given the boot. Now we don't have the I
- 6:52Speaker 1: don't think they. They haven't mentioned or haven't named the
- 6:56Speaker 1: interim head coach just yet for the Saints. Other firings,
- 7:00Speaker 1: the Raiders fired two of their rowcs as the Raiders
- 7:04Speaker 1: struggle at two and seven. As well, all these teams
- 7:07Speaker 1: competing for the chance to potentially draft Tamas Hunter, Shadorgh
- 7:13Speaker 1: Sanders and a lot of other very talented college players
- 7:19Speaker 1: trying to figure out who's going to get the number
- 7:20Speaker 1: one overall pick. As we continue down that road. Now,
- 7:25Speaker 1: a team that has not struggled, the team that has
- 7:27Speaker 1: been on the winning side of things recently, is the
- 7:29Speaker 1: Detroit Lions, who are at seven to one looking like
- 7:34Speaker 1: the team to beat in the NFC. Before the season,
- 7:38Speaker 1: they weren't picked to win the NFC North. It was
- 7:41Speaker 1: the Green Bay Packers in many books. Now the Lions
- 7:44Speaker 1: after losing the NFC championship last year. Back on the Horse,
- 7:48Speaker 1: Dan Campbell talked about the connection between his quarterback Jared
- 7:52Speaker 1: Goff and Amond Saint Brown, who might be the best
- 7:55Speaker 1: receiver in football.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, the connection between those it's special. Those two have
- 8:02Speaker 2: been clicking now for four years, really three and a half.
- 8:05Speaker 2: You know, it started about halfway through that twenty one
- 8:08Speaker 2: season and it's just it's built from there. And you know,
- 8:12Speaker 2: if if you're a quarterback, we got a dang good one.
- 8:16Speaker 2: But it's easy to throw to a guy like Saint
- 8:18Speaker 2: Brown because he gets open and he's got body control, balance,
- 8:23Speaker 2: he can separate, he's got quickness, he's got play speed,
- 8:27Speaker 2: strong hands, and his body demeanor tells you, man, if
- 8:32Speaker 2: I'm a quarterback, you got a real good idea what
- 8:34Speaker 2: he's doing.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Monte Brown tied for second in the NFL this season
- 8:39Speaker 1: with touchdown receptions with six. He has been the story
- 8:43Speaker 1: for the Lions as the Lions continue to fight their
- 8:47Speaker 1: way and potentially end up back in the NFC Championship
- 8:51Speaker 1: Game again this season. We come back Steve Sarkejian's Monday
- 8:56Speaker 1: morning press conference. We have clips from that talking about
- 8:59Speaker 1: the SEC. Is he cutting down on fake injuries to
- 9:02Speaker 1: the University of Florida this Saturday at eleven am kickoff?
- 9:06Speaker 1: What does he expect? What are his players expecting for
- 9:10Speaker 1: this big SEC matchup, a home game against the Gators.
- 9:13Speaker 1: We'll have that and more next on The Craig Ways Show,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Andresim will filling in for Craig Way on sports Radio
- 9:19Speaker 1: AM thirteen hundred at the Zone.
