  Speaker 1: time right now for today's word. Choose joy anyway. Choose

  Speaker 1: joy anyway. First, Thessalonians five sixteen says in the Amplified

  Speaker 1: be happy in your faith and rejoice and be glad
• 0:25
  Speaker 1: hearted continually or always. Happiness is not about what's happening
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: around you. It's about what's happening inside of you. When

  Speaker 1: the apostle Paul wrote that we should be glad hearted continually,

  Speaker 1: he wasn't saying life would be easy or circumstances would
• 0:45
  Speaker 1: always go our way. He was saying that no matter
• 0:49
  Speaker 1: what comes, whether people treat us right or whether people
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: treat us wrong, whether our plans succeed or whether they
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: fall apart, we can choose to live with joy. See

  Speaker 1: too often we hold our happiness hostage to conditions. I'll

  Speaker 1: be happy when I get that promotion, I'll be happy

  Speaker 1: when things calm down. I'll be happy when I make

  Speaker 1: up for my mistakes. But God never asks us to

  Speaker 1: wait for perfection before we enjoy our lives. Happiness is
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: not earned, it's received, and sometimes the greatest step of

  Speaker 1: faith you can take is simply giving yourself permission to

  Speaker 1: be happy right now. Maybe you've been through disappointments, maybe

  Speaker 1: you feel unworthy of joy, or maybe you're worried that

  Speaker 1: if you smile or laugh, people won't understand. But hear this.

  Speaker 1: God created you to live with gladness. He gave you

  Speaker 1: the capacity for laughter, the ability to rejoice, and the

  Speaker 1: gift of joy that comes from His spirit. Joy is

  Speaker 1: a birthright in Christ. Each morning, you have a choice.

  Speaker 1: I am blessed, I am grateful, I will be happy.
