- Jakayla Snipes: You've been called arrogant, attention seeking, probably self-centered, dramatic, ego-driven so many times that people probably treat your entire personality like it's one long audition for reality show nobody acts for. They may act like your confidence is compensation, your generosity is manipulation, and your natural presence is some kind of performance you could turn off if you just tried a little harder to be humble. But here's what they're missing. So you see, your sun sign isn't some character flaw or cry for help, it's actually your developmental assignment, shaped by the seasonal conditions you were born into. You see, Leo season falls into high summertime, which is roughly July 23rd through August 22nd. This is the time of the year when the sun is at its strongest, everything is in full bloom, and the entire strategy of the season is radiant expression and peak vitality. The plants have grown, the fruits are ripening, and everything that was carefully protected in summer is now mature enough to be fully visible. Everything that cancer just got started in, ⁓ know, sign four is now ⁓ and getting going in sign five, which is sun and Leo, Leo season. So this isn't about being narcissistic or needing attention. It's about being born into the season that teaches creative self-expression, leadership through presence, ⁓ generosity from overflow and the specific kind of intelligence that comes from being unapologetically visible. You see, what people call Leo traits are actually high summer survival strategies. And I just want to correct the record. Number one, people think you're arrogant when you're actually just not apologizing for existing. You see, I think the arrogance accusation is probably the most common thing thrown at Leos. And it's based on a fundamental misunderstanding of I think what confidence actually is. Cause I don't think you're arrogant. You're just not performing false humility to make other people feel comfortable. Because high summer is a time of the year that doesn't apologize for being bright and hot. That's the whole point of high summer. Think about what's actually happening in late July and August. This is when the sun is at the peak and everything is radiating maximum energy. The flowers are in full bloom and they're not hiding behind leaves. feeling like, ⁓ I'm just not that colorful. No, the fruit is ripening, it's being fully visible, it's announcing its presence, and none of this is arrogance, last things being exactly what they're supposed to be without dimming themselves. So you kind of have this innate natural sense of your own worth because you're born into the season that teaches self-possession. You know what you bring. You're not confused about your value. That doesn't mean you think you're better than anyone else. It means you're not pretending to be less than you are. So what people call arrogance could actually be you refusing to shrink so that they can feel bigger. Number two, people think that you're attention seeking when you're actually just naturally central. You see the attention seeking thing, I think it drives Leo's insane because it assumes that you're performing for validation. When you're really just occupying your natural position in the social ecosystem, you see high summer is central. It's the peak of the year. Everything revolves around it and you're not demanding attention. You're just existing in the place where attention naturally goes because you walk into a room, people look. And that's not you doing something wrong. Isn't that people responding to the energy that you carry? Because high summer has gravitational pull, things orbit around it. And for you, you probably have that same effect socially. People are likely drawn to your warmth, your energy, your presence, because you're not performing. You're just radiating, and radiation attracts. The accusation is that accusation of self-attention seeking. I think that usually comes from people who think that visibility is more something you should earn through suffering or self-deprecation first, but you were born into visibility. It's your starting position, not your end goal. So what they call attention seeking could actually be you being comfortable in the centrality that's natural to your seasonal position. Number three, people think you're self-centered and some of these slides are messed up on this one. I do apologize. I've had to rerecord Leo like. three or four times and you would have thought that I would have remembered to fix the slides in between one of those times, but I have not. Anyway, number three, people think you're self-centered when you're actually radiating from a strong center. So self-centered is one of those accusations that I think sounds bad, but I actually think it's describing something neutral in this regards because High Summer is self-centered in the literal sense because it operates from a strong center. and then it radiates outward from there, which is not really selfishness. That's also just how radiant interview works. You have to have a strong center to radiate anything. And you know who you are. You operate from your core values. You don't constantly defer to other people's opinions or let external validation determine your direction, which gives you this stable center of gravity where other people experience as self-centering this because maybe they're just used to people who are constantly shifting and accommodating. But here's what I think they miss, that you're incredibly generous, that you give constantly, that you share warmth, encouragement, support, resources. You just give from overflow, not from depletion. You feel yourself first, then you radiate outward, which is not selfishness, that's sustainable generosity. So what people call self-center could actually be you maintaining the strong center that even makes your generosity possible in the first place. Number four, people think you're superficial. when you're actually expressing inner essence through outer form. See, people assume Leos are superficial because you care about appearance, presentation, aesthetics, but that's not superficial. I think you're theatrical. You understand that the outer form is actually the legitimate way to express your inner essence, what's inside. Because high summer, doesn't separate inner and outer. The flower's inner vitality is its outer beauty when you think about it. They're the same thing, right? So you care about how things look because you understand that presentation matters. The way you show up in the world is part of your message, it's not separate from it. Libra also kind of works the same way with their aesthetics. So you dress intentionally, you speak intentionally, and you create these environments intentionally because you know that the form carries meaning, which is not being superficial. I want to call it artistic coherence. So the people who call you superficial, I think they usually may have some unresolved possible shame about wanting to be seen. Maybe they have learned that caring about appearance is vain, so they perform not caring and judge anyone who doesn't. Whereas you don't have that shame. You understand that beauty and creativity and self-expression can also be legitimate forms of intelligence. So what they call superficial could actually be you honoring the connection between essence and form. Number five, people think you're bossy. when you're actually leading from a natural authority. So the bossy accusation, I think it assumes that you're overstepping by taking charge, but you're not overstepping, you're stepping into the leadership role that High Summer occupies just naturally. Because High Summer, doesn't ask permission to be the peak of the year, it just is. And you're built the same way. You lead because leadership is your natural position, it's your baseline, not because you're trying to control people. And you may have strong opinions about Things should be done, and yeah, you may express those clearly. You'll probably organize people, delegate tasks, some directions, but that's not bossiness. Honestly, I'd be like, go for it, boo. That's probably using your ability to see the bigger picture and to coordinate energy towards a collective goal. Not necessarily trying to dominate, but trying to create coherence. But the problem is that people typically want leadership when things are falling apart when they ain't going well, but when things are going smoothly, they kind of use a guilt, grow some type of resentment. and you probably lead constantly, not just in crisis mode, which could make people uncomfortable because they're not used to having someone who has a clear vision and the confidence to it. So what they call bossy could actually be you providing the directional clarity that just high-summit requires. Number six, people think you're being dramatic when maybe you're just actually operating at some full intensity. See, I think everyone likes to accuse Leos of being dramatic. But what they're actually calling drama is actually you living at that full intensity because high summer does nothing halfway. It's hot, bright, vivid, and completely present. And you're probably the same way. You probably fully feel things and then express those things. You fully feel, fully boo, and engage with life at maximum amplitude, which is not drama. It's vitality. You don't have a moderate setting because does summer have a moderate setting? No. So when you're happy, you're radiant. When you're angry, you fierce. When you're hurt, you're wounded. You don't dilute your experience to make it more palatable for people who are uncomfortable with your intensity. You just feel what you feel at full volume. So what people call dramatic could actually be you refusing to mute your emotional range. Maybe they want you more measured, more controlled, more quote unquote appropriate. But appropriate for what? High summer's excessive. It got it to do. It's abundant. It is too much. That's the whole point. So your intensity, not some performance, is possibly you just being fully alive. Number seven, people think you need constant praise when you're actually thriving on genuine recognition. See, the needs constant phrase thing, I think, is a misreading of what you're actually looking for because you don't need some empty flattery. You need to be genuinely recognized of what you've created or contributed. In high summer, it produces fruit, right? Fruit, which needs to be harvested and appreciated. Or the whole effort was just pointless and you're kind of the same way inherently. You create things and yeah, yeah, you want them to be acknowledged. And there's nothing wrong with wanting to be recognized for your work because you put real energy into what you do. You're generous with your time, your creativity, your support. Wanting that to be seen and valued isn't needy, I think is reasonable. The issue is that people have been taught that wanting to be recognized is immature. So they perform not caring and probably expect you to do the same, which you can't. because being recognized is part of the creative cycle for you. So you create, you share, you receive feedback, you create more. That exchange is what fuels you. What people call needing praise is actually you participating in a healthy cycle of creation and acknowledgement, not necessarily fishing for compliments, but maybe trying to make sure your contribution is land. Number eight, people think you're show-offs when you're actually... Modeling full expression see I think the show off accusation is interesting because it assumes that something's wrong with being good at something and letting people see it But high summer doesn't hide its fruit. The whole point is visibility. You're not showing off You're showing up fully and I think there's a difference when you're talented at something You're not about to downplay it when you've accomplished something You're not about to minimize it when you created something beautiful. You're not gonna hide it, which is not ego It's not integrity because you've worked for what you have And you're not going to pretend you didn't or act like, oh my, it just happened by accident. So what people call showing off could actually be you modeling what full self-expression looks like. Maybe you're giving permission for other people to also be proud of what they are created, right? To also own their own talent, to also take up space, which is not performing superiority. I think that's demonstrating possibility. And the people who can't see the difference, I think, are usually the ones that need that permission most. Number nine, people think that you are high maintenance when maybe you're just actually very clear about your standards. See, I think high maintenance is kind of cold for has needs and doesn't hide them, which somehow has become an insult. But I don't think you're high maintenance. I think you're just very clear about what you need to be able to function well. And you're not that apologetic about it because high summer has requirements, right? It needs water, sunlight, space to expand. And you're inherently the same way. You know what you need. and you ask for it. You have standards for how you want to be treated, what kind of environments you'll participate in, what level of efforts things deserve, which doesn't make you difficult. I think it makes you self-aware. And the people who call you high maintenance are typically the people who want access to you without having to meet you at your level. So don't think you're being or asking for anything unreasonable. Maybe you're asking for respect, for that to be reciprocal. for care that matches what you give. And what they call high maintenance could actually be you having boundaries and standards, knowing your worth and not settling for less than what you deserve, which is not being difficult. Isn't that having self-respect? Number 10, people think you're dominating when you're actually creating space for others through your strength. See, the dominating accusation assumes that your presence takes up all the space and leaves none for anyone else. But that's not how high summer works. High summer is abundant. It creates overflow. Your strength doesn't diminish other people. It creates a container where other people can also be strong. So you lead, yeah. You're visible, yeah. But you also do champion other people. You'll celebrate their wins. You'll amplify their voices. You'll create opportunities for them to shine, which is not dominating. It's using your position to lift others up. Because the sun, doesn't diminish the plants. Doesn't it make them grow? So the people who experience you is dominating. could be people who are uncomfortable with anyone having clear authority of presence. Maybe they want everyone to be equal in the sense of equally diminished, which is not something you can do because you leave from the front and you bring people with you. So what they call dominating is actually you creating the conditions where everybody can thrive. And our last one, number 11, people think you're ego-driven when you're actually powered by creative life force. And I think this is a big one because people assume that Leos are ego. driven, which implies everything you do is about propping up some fragile sense of self, right? But that's not what's happening. You're not driven by ego. You're driven by creative life force because high summer is that peak expression of solar energy. Everything is at maximum vitality. And you're the same way. You're powered by the urge to create, to express, and to radiate. And your drive isn't about proving something or compensating for insecurity. It's about expressing what's alive in you. You create because you have to, you shine because you're full of light, you lead because you have the energy to direct, which is not ego, that's vitality, seeing, expression. So what people call ego-driven could actually be you responding to your aliveness, your fully present, fully expressed, fully yourself. And that intensity makes people uncomfortable because most people have been taught to dim themselves and you won't do that, you can't do that. Your developmental assignment is to literally Be the sun, not to apologize for giving light. So the bottom line is if you're a Leo Sun, you're not arrogant, attention or self-seeking. You're a high summer specialist. You're built for radiant self-expression, leadership through presence, creative vitality, and generous overflow from a strong center. And what people call your negative traits are actually sophisticated strategies for the season you were born into. You're not here to shrink and apologize. You're here to occupy your full presence and I believe to give others permission to do the same. You're not here to hide your talents. You're here to model what full self-expression looks like. You're not here to lead quietly from the back. You're here to lead visibly from the front to bring people with you. The people who get you, they understand that your confidence is an arrogance, is self-possession. That your visibility isn't attention seeking, is natural centrality. That your strength is a domination. It's the container that makes everyone else's strength. the people who don't get you, they'll keep asking you to be smaller, quieter, less. Let them. You've got light to give, and the world needs it whether they admit it or not.
