- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:29So today I want to give you a Mary Oliver quote from one of
- 0:34her poems, and it's from mysteries.
- 0:37Yes, and it's the first line of the poem.
- 0:40Truly, we live with mysteries too marvelous to be understood.
- 0:47And boy, isn't that the truth. Because I think this universe is
- 0:50filled with magic and wonder and mysteries, and we will never
- 0:54understand even a portion of them.
- 0:58You know, we hear news every day that science is discovering new
- 1:03things. We hear all kinds of what we
- 1:06would deem good news, bad news. We don't understand why it
- 1:09happens. We have religion that helps us
- 1:12guide some of it. We have religion that makes us
- 1:14feel like we wonder, how could this possibly be if we, you
- 1:18know, look deeply into the meanings of religion, how could
- 1:21we have anger and all of this in the world?
- 1:23So many people have questions and they don't have answers to
- 1:26them and that is because we are not meant to understand them.
- 1:29In my opinion, I think we have to learn to live with the
- 1:32mysteries and learn to function with the mysteries and learn to
- 1:36carry ourselves with the mysteries and be patient with it
- 1:40all. And you know, human beings
- 1:42aren't the most patient things in the whole world.
- 1:45I think we try to work towards it.
- 1:48I use the term lightly because really I don't.
- 1:52I have a really hard time with patience for myself, not for
- 1:55other things. Like I have tons of patience
- 1:57with my animals, with my gardens, with everything that I
- 2:02grow, but I don't have tons of patience with myself per SE.
- 2:07It's a ongoing battle to be patient and learn to be slower
- 2:11and and bring myself down from those things that seem so
- 2:16daunting sometimes. But as we all know, human being
- 2:21human is a work in progress. And you have to really put your
- 2:25intent on being a better human overall.
- 2:28Not just in one area, but overall, because we all have
- 2:31spots that we can do this in. And even when we are really
- 2:33strong in certain things, we can still do a better job.
- 2:36We just have to work towards doing that, put our intentions
- 2:39there and really focus on bringing that into our world.
- 2:44So for me, one of the most important things that I know
- 2:47about this, when I start thinking about all of this
- 2:50really comes down to the mysteries that we have and we
- 2:54get hung up on not understanding them.
- 2:56We're doing ourself a disservice when we start focusing on trying
- 3:00to solve the mystery as opposed to just being in wonder about
- 3:04it. Just being in that state of awe,
- 3:06just looking at it and going, geez, I don't even need to know
- 3:10because it's so incredible. I don't, I don't.
- 3:13I am always in awe a seed, because you put a seed in the
- 3:17ground and boom, you next thing you know you have a plant.
- 3:20And I have every read everything about it.
- 3:24I understand quote UN quote how it happens, but I still don't
- 3:29know what makes it all happen. Because isn't it funny that
- 3:33this, what seems to be this very inert object you can put in the
- 3:36ground and all of a sudden it turns into something that's
- 3:39alive. And it baffles my mind every
- 3:42time I see it happen. I'm I'm utterly in awe of
- 3:46watching seeds turn into something.
- 3:48It's I, I wait, I patiently wait.
- 3:51And I am that person that wants to go and dig in the ground and
- 3:53say, is it coming up? Even when I start them in the,
- 3:56you know, the little green cells, I get very like, oh, I'm
- 4:00going to go in there and I'm going to see.
- 4:01But see, that's one of those mysteries that I have to let go
- 4:04of so that I can just say, OK, this is something I'm going to
- 4:09put aside and I'm just going to stay in a state of awe about it.
- 4:14Because if I stay in that state and I really work towards that
- 4:18state, you know, magic happens because it attracts more things
- 4:22that are joyous, wondrous, putting you in a state of awe,
- 4:26and then it's full circle. And then you feel great about it
- 4:29because it is a full circle kind of thing.
- 4:32So you have to ask yourself what mysteries surround you that
- 4:36taunt you, and what mysteries surround you that you're willing
- 4:39to just stay in a state of awe with because that's where the
- 4:42beauty lies. My friends, when we can do that,
- 4:45that's our power. So go out there and be in awe
- 4:49today. Have a great day, make it a
- 4:52great day. I hope you have a blessed day
- 4:55and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
