- 0:00Hello and welcome to another episode of the Christian wreath
- 0:04podcast. Today's episode is quite special
- 0:07because we have a topic that has been suggested by a patreon
- 0:13subscriber. So shout out to Pamela Wang
- 0:16Miller who is a good friend and follower of mine has been for
- 0:20some time. She's been supporting me for a
- 0:22very long time. She's even appeared on the
- 0:24podcast before so make sure you check out that if you haven't
- 0:27already. And yes, she's so she joined one
- 0:31of my Tears within my patreon that allows you enables you to
- 0:37choose a podcast topic. And she she asked me for some
- 0:44sort of an interesting one like and I wasn't really sure how to
- 0:48approach this. It took me a while to kind of
- 0:50figure out a title that would work that wouldn't sound
- 0:54pretentious or douchey and that would actually maybe be somewhat
- 0:58interesting to listen to Again is subjective.
- 1:01I hope you guys enjoy it. If it sucks, let me know that
- 1:05platform is always open by the way if you want to subscribe to
- 1:09me and support me on patreon to so I remember get this plug out
- 1:13of the way it's patreon.com slash Christian Reeve and I gets
- 1:18you access to Early Access episodes of the podcast the life
- 1:23with Christian Reeves series which is exclusive to patreon
- 1:26only and a bunch of puppeteers and perks.
- 1:29So go check that out. Anyway, so Pamela's sent me a
- 1:35few different things and I want to kind of read them in
- 1:37different orders. And then also, I want to kind of
- 1:40run through my ideas for this show.
- 1:41Now originally, what she'd said to me in our conversations back
- 1:47and forth because obviously I reached out to her and I was
- 1:50like, hey, thank you for subscribing to this tier.
- 1:52What would you like me to talk about?
- 1:54And she sort of said, like, oh well tell me what it's like to
- 1:57be, you know, Tick-Tock famous To be famous online.
- 2:01And I was like, well, I'm not though, you know, like I've been
- 2:04building followings on these platforms but I'm not, I'm just
- 2:08a guy on the internet and I mean with Big Dreams but I'm in no
- 2:13way. Successful in that sense.
- 2:16And I've had people sort of disagree with that over time and
- 2:19say, well, you are a success. You're doing it, you're
- 2:21consistently doing it, you're growing excetera.
- 2:23And, and that's true. And I'm very grateful for that
- 2:27progress. And I remember how it was before
- 2:29and how It is now. And, you know, it's a journey
- 2:33but in my mind it wouldn't really be a success.
- 2:37Unless I was, you know, doing this for a living fact of the
- 2:40matter is, I'm not. I'm still, you know, working a
- 2:43day job, crazy hours, and it's made everything a lot harder
- 2:48actually, in more recent times, I have less time to do this.
- 2:51So when I do find the time I really have to savor it and make
- 2:57the most of it, you know what I mean?
- 2:59And Even with a podcast I've been doing this now for two
- 3:02years and when I first started, I had all the time in the world
- 3:04because you know, I was unemployed, it was covid-19 Dove
- 3:07Grand in that sense but now I'm working like 50 hours a week,
- 3:12sometimes more significantly, less time to work on things.
- 3:17I'm obviously trying to do acting and voice acting and
- 3:20podcasting doing stuff for the patreon music, live streams you
- 3:25name it. And I've chosen that, you know,
- 3:27this is not me trying to say like, oh, hey, feel sorry, For
- 3:30me. Absolutely not.
- 3:31I've chosen this life. This is what I want to do.
- 3:34I want to be a professional actor and voice actor.
- 3:36I want to do music. I want to do podcasting.
- 3:38I want to do content creation live streaming.
- 3:40I want to do it all. I don't want to focus on just
- 3:42one thing I want to do it all. But obviously, if you want to do
- 3:45it all, you got to put the work in.
- 3:47You got to work hard. So I suppose a big part of this
- 3:50theme today will be me discussing work and what goes
- 3:54into the work as a content creator.
- 3:57And again bring it back to me decide.
- 4:00In what the topic would be today.
- 4:02I sort of settled on Life as a content creator, which I still
- 4:06think is really pretentious and douchey and I apologize for
- 4:09anyone listening new things like dude is so does this guy think
- 4:14he is? I'm just a guy making content.
- 4:17That's it. I've why I really wasn't sure
- 4:21how else to word it, but you'll see where I'm going with this as
- 4:24we go throughout the show. So I'll answer some questions
- 4:26from Pamela. I'll also answer some questions
- 4:29show. Shout out to Vilma who also sent
- 4:32me in some questions and just on a side note.
- 4:34If you ever do want me to answer your questions in future
- 4:37episodes, please drop an email at Christian Reeve podcast at
- 4:42gmail.com or contact Christian Reeve at gmail.com and I will
- 4:46make sure they are included in the show.
- 4:49So let's let's start with some of the things that Pamela said
- 4:54she said what is it like to be young full of potential and
- 4:59Beloved by strangest. Mmm, I don't feel as young as a
- 5:06did. I feel like I felt older a
- 5:11little wiser. But depending on my company, I
- 5:14even feel really old or really young, it depends but you know
- 5:18I'm feeling myself. I'm noticing.
- 5:19I'm having to work a lot harder in places like the gym and stuff
- 5:22to kind of remain physically fit and able to do things and
- 5:27whatnot. I suppose, mentally, I still
- 5:31feel youthful and like I've got a lot ahead of me. but you know
- 5:36sometimes obviously when I'm around people younger than me,
- 5:39you know, be at my brother's or sometimes there's people in the
- 5:43live streams that are younger and I'm sort of conscious of the
- 5:46fact that now I have this kind of responsibility to people
- 5:51younger than me to kind of impart lessons that I've learned
- 5:55here and there and maybe that will help them maybe not to this
- 6:00kind of like some responsibility there and this is kind of
- 6:05Happened over the last couple of years, I suppose, where I've
- 6:07sort of noticed. Like this is a responsibility
- 6:09that look you don't have to take it on but I think it's a nice
- 6:12thing decent thing to do. I remember people in their 30s
- 6:16or 40s doing the same for me when I was younger.
- 6:19So it's a cool kind of concept you know you give back you learn
- 6:22from life and you give back full of potential and loved by
- 6:27strangers. I mean these are really lovely
- 6:29things to say. Thank you so much.
- 6:30Pamela, I really appreciate those kind words It's kind of
- 6:36like I said on the livestream the other day like I feel like I
- 6:39lead a double life. Wait in one life.
- 6:44I'm, you know, I work in a bar for minimum wage, I'm just a guy
- 6:49trying to make ends meet. That's it, that's me, you know,
- 6:53and to the people who know me, I don't know, I guess it's up to
- 6:57them to decide what I'm like. But yeah and then I've got this
- 7:03life online, which is so totally different and I meet all these
- 7:07wonderful amazing people around the world who I get to, you
- 7:10know, have awesome conversations with or what you know, we
- 7:12enjoyed music live stream together or we just chat or you
- 7:16know we share in happiness and we try and spread it give each
- 7:19other Joy, you know? And I love that.
- 7:21That's wonderful. This kind of coming together and
- 7:23Community Spirit idea like it's it's fantastic and I love that.
- 7:30Loved by straight. I mean, I'll be honest.
- 7:33A lot of the comments are very overwhelming and I'm very
- 7:37grateful and it's really nice to hear those things.
- 7:40And thank you so much to everyone that says these things.
- 7:45I guess it's kind of surreal. I don't know like I have a sense
- 7:49of Detachment in the sense that whenever I come online and do
- 7:53these things. I suppose like I'm trying to be
- 7:56as authentic as possible. So you get like, as much of me,
- 7:59the person as you possibly can, but make no mistake.
- 8:02I mean, there is the presenter in me, I'm presenting this
- 8:05podcast. When I do my live streams, there
- 8:07is a certain degree of performance, so to speak.
- 8:11It's not me. Faking it or anything.
- 8:12It's just, you've got to be a bit more animated and, and push
- 8:16that side out of yourself. When you're talking to people,
- 8:18you can't just sit there like, hey, you know, welcome to
- 8:21another podcast or hello? Welcome to this live stream
- 8:24because no one wants to I hear that shit.
- 8:25You want, you want energy, you want liveliness so that's kind
- 8:31of what it is always on my mind with regards to that.
- 8:34And when I hear these lovely things like Ike, Sometimes they
- 8:42get through to me and I'm like, wow, like especially the things
- 8:45where people say like, oh hey, you've really helped me through
- 8:47this time, or you've helped me with this or Etc.
- 8:50Like that means a lot to me that's like I suppose
- 8:54recognition of the fact that the things that I'm doing mean
- 8:58something to other people and they're helping other people and
- 9:01that's awesome. If nothing else that Gives it
- 9:06reason, it gives it like purpose.
- 9:09Like I suppose we're all looking for purpose in life and I've
- 9:13always look for that knife in all areas of my life, I want to
- 9:16feel that I'm making a difference in some shape or form
- 9:19I realized that my different so my eye you bloody remote.
- 9:22Leave me alone, I realized that my impact might be small, but
- 9:28hey, you never know. People could be listening to
- 9:30these things that I create watching them and it could
- 9:35Impact them in a profound way. It could lead, help them to lead
- 9:37a better life or, you know, nothing else could give people
- 9:41just a bit of happiness and that to me, makes it all worth it,
- 9:46you know, especially when I think about the content creators
- 9:50that I enjoy, and the dark times I've been through in the past
- 9:54and more recently, you know, those forms of content, help get
- 9:59you through, they help distract you, they help to motivate you.
- 10:03Make you laugh, make you cry or whatever.
- 10:05No, like they give you they give you something and that's what I
- 10:07want to give to people. That's why I work so hard for
- 10:10everybody's not just because I love it or because I'm trying to
- 10:12get somewhere. I feel some degree of like a
- 10:18responsibility to people because especially since people started
- 10:22like subscribing to me and on patreon stuff like that, I feel
- 10:25even more of a sense of responsibility.
- 10:27Now like I really need to go all out and do as much as I can to
- 10:32entertain and give people something.
- 10:35Saying you know, I never want a half-assed at this.
- 10:37Not in me to do that. I mean I was you know got like
- 10:40two pages of notes here, you know what I mean?
- 10:41Like, I always come prepared and make sure that I do my absolute
- 10:46best because that's what that the way I was raised.
- 10:48That's the way I think. And, you know, you the people
- 10:53watching I want to give you my absolute best so that you get
- 10:56something and hey, if it sucks, it sucks.
- 10:57I'm sorry, but at least, you know, I gave it my all and so I
- 11:02hope that answers that question. I'm going to just go randomly
- 11:07back and forth so there might be a bit of a lack of structure
- 11:10here. I do apologize.
- 11:11I'll try and keep it as structures as I can, but there's
- 11:14just lots of ideas here and thoughts and stuff that I wanted
- 11:17to cover getting to, twenty-eight thousand followers
- 11:22on my first account Christian Pico River.
- 11:26Fish on Tick-Tock, that was kind of crazy because it tied, with
- 11:30me going viral for the first time, which was bizarre.
- 11:34Did a video known as a stitch where you take an existing video
- 11:39and you add something to it. And in this sense I added the
- 11:43like a reaction to someone's video this comedian and she just
- 11:48popped off. It went crazy.
- 11:50I got like 2.9 million views in like the Middle East, mostly and
- 11:55other countries and it was just kind of interesting.
- 11:58I don't know, it was surreal, it was fun.
- 12:01It was just crazy, checking my phone, every five seconds and
- 12:04seeing that. Happen.
- 12:05Very, very exciting. And then came a bit of
- 12:08disappointment. And this is this taught me a
- 12:12valuable life lesson. About expectations and managing
- 12:16them. After that I expected that I
- 12:19would, you know oh this is it this is my break right.
- 12:22I'm going to become this big successful content creator and
- 12:25I'll get to do all these things. I always wanted to do.
- 12:27Yeah, that didn't happen. It kind of stagnated after that.
- 12:31You know I had a few videos here and there that got a couple of
- 12:34hundred to a few thousand views and you know I was trying to
- 12:37keep making content and stuff but I guess the stuff that I was
- 12:40creating just wasn't interesting or didn't click with people.
- 12:43I mean the content game online is To gamble.
- 12:48You know what I mean? Like, a lot of, if you're just
- 12:49trying to go viral, I think different people have different
- 12:53philosophies on this. Some people think it's just all
- 12:56about the algorithm and following that some people think
- 12:58it's about consistency and sticking to that.
- 13:01Some people think it's more about like just building a
- 13:04following slowly and just releasing content for that
- 13:08following and, you know, kind of through Word of Mouth through
- 13:11getting shared, maybe you'll go that way and sometimes it's just
- 13:14pure fucking luck, you know? I mean your your video no just
- 13:18gets pushed and you know followed and checked out by a
- 13:24lot of people and it just pops off.
- 13:26I don't know what I think on. That front be honest.
- 13:30I haven't really made my mind up but That experience taught me to
- 13:37enjoy things when they happen in the moment, but don't have any
- 13:42expectations about things, you know, just deal with, what is
- 13:46not, what could be. Obviously, don't get me wrong,
- 13:49be positive, always have that positive mindset and always
- 13:52think about like, hey, this could happen.
- 13:53This can happen because that keeps you motivated and keeps
- 13:55you moving forward and trying and and, you know, never giving
- 14:00up, right? And I'll always have that
- 14:01mentality. But at the same time, I'm not
- 14:04going to think like oh this is definitely going to happen now
- 14:08because it didn't in the end I think I missed out with that
- 14:12account because as some people here may know not everyone knows
- 14:16I got banned from live streaming on that particular platform for
- 14:20some like really silly reason and a bunch of my following
- 14:23tried to appeal it and it never happened.
- 14:26So I just gave up on trying to to live stream on my account
- 14:30which was a big part of me. Growing my Blowing at that time.
- 14:35I then set up a couple of other accounts, one for my podcast and
- 14:39one for my second account. And my second account is no, now
- 14:42my kind of hub for live streaming and everything else.
- 14:45And I decided to start using the main account, to Showcase my
- 14:50acting and voice acting and music.
- 14:52And my second accounts just mucking around really having fun
- 14:55with Tick-Tock and jumping on Trends and seeing what I could.
- 14:58It's kind of like experimentation, I guess and
- 15:01then the third account is just purely.
- 15:03Clips. And I decided to structure it in
- 15:05this way, because to me, it made more sense, The Divide
- 15:08everything up. It's what I've done on YouTube
- 15:10and Instagram as well. I feel like it's almost targeted
- 15:16more, it's more putting things into like, you know, Anish
- 15:19because I don't want it ever pursue a niche.
- 15:24I don't want to limit myself, but at the same time, I do also
- 15:29want to do a lot of different things.
- 15:32And I think If you're going to do that, you should try your
- 15:36best to try and segment things, and put things on separate
- 15:39counts. If you Cami, I think.
- 15:40Mr. Beast on YouTube. Does that, doesn't he?
- 15:43Or he did? He had, like 20 or two counts or
- 15:45something? All four different things and I
- 15:47think that's one way of doing it.
- 15:49I've had people suggest that I do that in the past.
- 15:52You know, I've often thought about rebranding my YouTube
- 15:55account is just the podcast. But you know, I always wanted to
- 15:59upload different things on there and I have done since then.
- 16:02And I think I I will continue to do so in the future.
- 16:05So I want I want that kind of freedom to do that.
- 16:08But I'm always going back and forth on what to do with it.
- 16:12What the right thing is you know it's a constant learning curve
- 16:15you know it's never like okay this is how it is.
- 16:17We're definitely doing it this way.
- 16:19You know, I mean it's you just learning.
- 16:22I mean I started doing this properly in 2019 and it's been a
- 16:26journey ever since and It just continues, I'm always learning.
- 16:33And on that note, I want to actually run you through kind of
- 16:37the story of me and content and everything because I do have it
- 16:41all mapped out here up to this date.
- 16:43So, I set up a YouTube channel in December of 2013.
- 16:48Not many people may know this, but yeah, and back then, you
- 16:52know, I was inspired by what I was seeing online.
- 16:55I thought maybe I had the Charisma and personality maybe
- 16:58to pull it off. The time I was I was a budding
- 17:02musician but I was sort of winding down or just come out of
- 17:05the band. I was sort of winding down on
- 17:07the cue stick stuff and I was like, maybe I could do something
- 17:11with YouTube, but I just never had any good ideas.
- 17:14And, you know, I tried to jump on Trends and stuff and it just
- 17:18came across as really fake and silly and just crappy and not
- 17:22interesting. There were just no original
- 17:24ideas. So I just left it.
- 17:27I would occasionally upload music on there and I At the
- 17:30account, open, with the intention of eventually getting
- 17:33back to it if I ever had any good ideas.
- 17:35But I kind of did give up on it for a while and that kind of
- 17:40intern linked with my life at that point onwards.
- 17:43You know, I went to University and I kind of just gave up on
- 17:46all things creative to be honest because people around me told me
- 17:50it was a pipe dream and at the time I just kind of accepted and
- 17:53thought I guess you're right. I guess I'm not very good.
- 17:56Well I don't have anything to offer might as well just get
- 17:59myself a professional. And get a real job, right?
- 18:02Fast forward to going to University.
- 18:06And, you know, I started posting music at the time and having fun
- 18:10with it and sharing a little bit about my uni experience.
- 18:13No intentions there, I wasn't trying to get anywhere with it.
- 18:17I was just having fun, and it was fun.
- 18:19It really was. And then I abandoned the
- 18:22channel. Again, you know, life got in the
- 18:24way, you need got in the way. And it wasn't until 2019 when
- 18:30When I was in Estonia at the time living there and I started
- 18:36pursuing acting and I think I've told that story several times
- 18:39now so I'm not going to tell it again.
- 18:41If you want to check it out go check it out.
- 18:43The million other times. I've done it.
- 18:46I've spoken about it. But when I started getting
- 18:51footage back and stuff and looking at this stuff, as I all,
- 18:54I could post this online. And so I did and then I was
- 18:57like, oh well, you know, I've got a phone, it's not great, but
- 19:00it's a start, right? It's always good to, you know,
- 19:02and I had a video camera that I was using and whatnot.
- 19:05So I thought, you know what, I'll start making content.
- 19:07It might not be very good, but at least I'm posting here, at
- 19:10least I'm trying and that began the journey.
- 19:14And in the early times, you know, I was just doing like
- 19:16Vlogs and skits and it was all Pretty terrible.
- 19:20But at least I was, you know, learning how to use cameras and
- 19:24editing and just kind of try and different things.
- 19:27You know, seeing what sticks in what I was good at seeing, what
- 19:30was bad at? And what I needed to work on, I
- 19:32think a big part of what I needed to work on was having
- 19:35confidence on camera. You know, being able to just
- 19:38talk and not think about it. Like right now, I'm not thinking
- 19:40about the fact that I'm looking at a camera.
- 19:43I mean, I am now because I'm talking about it.
- 19:45So now it's getting awkward and I'm reminded of the fact That
- 19:48I'm just sitting here in my room talking to myself but I had to
- 19:52get over that idea and stop being so awkward and I don't
- 19:56think there is any way that you can really teach yourself to
- 19:59stop being awkward behind the camera.
- 20:01I mean you can try different things but I think ultimately
- 20:04you just have to keep trying and practicing and finding a Cadence
- 20:10a way that works for you and then from there on you know you
- 20:15stick with that you stick with what works with well.
- 20:18For you and that's that's what I did and I think over the course
- 20:22of about a year somewhere in 2020 that's when I started
- 20:25getting more confident with with doing this and an approaching
- 20:28this and you know, I'm always learning all the time.
- 20:31I know I know I've repeated that a few times but even when it
- 20:34comes to presenting and talking you know there's always little
- 20:36things than picking up on and thinking like oh I should do
- 20:40more of that or less of that, I do.
- 20:42Also, of course, pay attention to what people say.
- 20:46You know, it's not great, receiving criticism.
- 20:48Mmm, but if it's constructive, I'm going to listen to, I'm
- 20:51going to take it into account and I have done another applied
- 20:54that to the podcast and applied that to other things I've done.
- 20:57So, there's always opportunities to learn and grow.
- 21:01Yeah. When I was in lockdown during
- 21:032020, I was jobless. You know, I came back from
- 21:08Estonia, February 20 2012 my family very briefly and I moved
- 21:15into Manchester. Just before the lockdown
- 21:20happened, before any of this stuff happened, it was, he's on
- 21:22the news, but like, you know, the British government at the
- 21:26time was just kind of scoffing at it being like, there's
- 21:29nothing to worry about and then lo and behold, like, a week or
- 21:32two later, there was something to worry about.
- 21:37But luckily I managed to get a place and sort of you know, have
- 21:41a base to operate from in Manchester but I naively
- 21:45thought, like, oh no problems. A job.
- 21:48But then to be fair I couldn't have predicted a worldwide
- 21:51pandemic and a job shortage and everything closing.
- 21:54So In fairness that wasn't my fault but in the end it took me
- 21:58about a year and a half to find a job.
- 22:01And I don't know if you guys have ever been unemployed and
- 22:04tell you this, the expectation from the, the government was
- 22:09that I, you know, work is a work for 40 hours a week, I would
- 22:16search for jobs. It does not take 40 hours a week
- 22:19to search for jobs, you can get your job search done in about an
- 22:22hour and there's only so long, you can, you know, rewrite your
- 22:26CV or job applications domain like this.
- 22:28Eventually, you've just got time on your hands and I didn't want
- 22:32to sit around doing nothing or just sitting around watching
- 22:34stuff. I wanted to use this opportunity
- 22:36this time that I'd always wanted and never seemingly had I'd been
- 22:41gifted and I was at right now is the time to build now is the
- 22:44time to start something. I started the podcast.
- 22:48I started live streaming at that time.
- 22:51I started many different things. I started Tick-Tock accounts,
- 22:55Instagram, I started pushing on. I basically 2020 is the year
- 22:59that I really started properly doing this.
- 23:01I'd started in 2019. You know, I was already posting
- 23:05content on YouTube and doing what not but like, 2020 is
- 23:08really where came into its own. I guess, I started building
- 23:12remnants of like a community online or like fans if you want
- 23:16to call it that followers, that's where it really started
- 23:18to lay the foundations for that and then moving into More recent
- 23:26times. You know, I've started this
- 23:27patreon. I've started putting content on
- 23:32there that's like different from what I post here, online.
- 23:36That's like free content. I've started like thinking about
- 23:39ways I could potentially monetize this stuff, you know.
- 23:43Again it's all dreams but I think if you put the work in and
- 23:49people believe in what you're doing and and they see that
- 23:52you're passionate about what you do and you care about it.
- 23:54And Put the time and the effort in, then ultimately, eventually
- 23:58something's going to work, you know, mean it might not work
- 24:00straight away. Might not be everyone's cup of
- 24:02tea, you might get somewhere with it and I feel like, I feel
- 24:08like right now, it's going somewhere.
- 24:09But again, going back to what I said before about expectations,
- 24:13I'm trying to manage my expectations.
- 24:15I'm trying to be like, hey, just chill.
- 24:19It might not happen, but it might happen.
- 24:21Let's just see what happens. So, that's kind of the head
- 24:24space. On that, right?
- 24:27The tough reality of content receiving, 0, views, or live
- 24:32streams with maybe no followers watching.
- 24:36This has happened many times, it happened a lot at the beginning
- 24:41and it still happens. Sometimes sometimes I'll jump
- 24:44onto like Tick-Tock or something and they just be no one there.
- 24:48And I don't know what to do because a lot of my live streams
- 24:51are based on interactions with the audience.
- 24:54That's how I make the content. If you like, is just interacting
- 24:57with those people having conversations, you know, we have
- 25:01a laugh, we talked about various different things, obviously
- 25:03there are live streams, I'll do while, you know, just play music
- 25:06and take song requests and stuff.
- 25:08But even then it's important to have that interaction.
- 25:12A big part of everything that I do is based on interaction and I
- 25:18think the best content is always made with interaction because
- 25:21you get I did you get access to ideas that you never would have
- 25:24had if it was just you you know, and I'm not going to sit here
- 25:27and say I'm a big Ideas guy. Like, I have my moments, I
- 25:30think, and I can be very creative, but I think I always
- 25:33work best when I can bounce off people, and that much has been
- 25:37true when I've done acting and stuff, and I've been able to
- 25:39bounce ideas off directors and whatnot.
- 25:41Like, I love being able to able to collaborate with people and
- 25:44seeing what new things we can create and what Not I think
- 25:48maybe that comes from my time in various different bands over the
- 25:51years because I always loved jamming with people and seeing
- 25:54what we could come up with. So I think that's a part of it.
- 25:57But, yeah, that still happens every once in a while.
- 26:01I think it's particularly frustrating when it's content
- 26:04such as the podcast, when you put a lot of time and effort
- 26:06into it hours hours and hours and hours of editing and
- 26:12clipping things up and editing pictures and God knows what
- 26:14else. And then it just flops doesn't
- 26:17Anyway and every time I look at that like I'll release a new
- 26:22podcast episode or cop all the clips and I'll do everything for
- 26:25it and I'm like when it flops I sort of sit there and I'm like,
- 26:29is there any point to this? Because no one's watching it.
- 26:33But the reality is there are people watching and listening as
- 26:36a handful of people that are invested and that is so much
- 26:41more valuable than say tens of thousands of people may be
- 26:44watching this if you've got like five people, All that are truly
- 26:48invested in everything that you do.
- 26:50I mean, that's huge, you know. I mean you got their full
- 26:53attention. They're checking out every
- 26:54single thing that you do. That's amazing that to me will
- 26:59always be invaluable sure that I'm going to sit here and say I
- 27:03wouldn't love to have hundreds of thousands millions of
- 27:05followers who wouldn't, right, who wouldn't want to have that
- 27:08attention? But I think you one thing I've
- 27:10learned over the past year, amongst other Essence, is to be
- 27:13grateful for what you have. And I think because if you're
- 27:17not I think that can alienate the people that do care if you
- 27:20sit there and you can pay and you're like, oh, I wish it was
- 27:21like this. I wish it was like that.
- 27:23Then the people that are, there are going to be feel like, well,
- 27:26what do you not appreciate me? I'm here, I care.
- 27:29You know what I mean? So it's and that's something
- 27:32that I overlooked, I think because I was too busy sin
- 27:36feeling. Sorry for myself, which is a
- 27:38very easy thing to fall into a trap.
- 27:40You can fall into as a content creator, if you get too obsessed
- 27:44with the numbers and Lord knows people have turned around.
- 27:46To me and said Ed stop thinking about the number stop thinking
- 27:48about the numbers stop thinking about the numbers.
- 27:51I don't know I come from a marketing business background so
- 27:54I'm somewhat I used to be obsessed.
- 27:57I'm not as bad. Now, I will go ants at the
- 27:59numbers and just to check and I like to see how things progress
- 28:03over time, but I'm not as obsessed as I was, I used to
- 28:06check it like several times a day.
- 28:08Now, I just glance every once in a while, I tend to pay more
- 28:11attention now, to interactions, that's kind of more where my
- 28:15head's at now is like, what do people think about this?
- 28:19What people saying, you know, like, that's what I'm looking
- 28:23at. So, I think, yeah, you need a
- 28:27certain degree of luck to be successful.
- 28:29I think I sort of said this previously but It's always going
- 28:34to be that way, with everything that you do.
- 28:39Sometimes it's timing. You know, I've heard a lot of
- 28:41people say things like our it's better to repost the same
- 28:45content several times because sometimes you can get like more
- 28:48views than the first time and maybe you just lucked out and
- 28:51people didn't see it the first time.
- 28:53And you have tried that here in there but I don't know.
- 28:59I feel like I need more help with this Janome.
- 29:01Like I need. I need a social media person to
- 29:04just take over for me and I can just focus on creating the
- 29:06content. That's that what I say.
- 29:08Now one of my goals is to eventually have like a team of
- 29:11people that work with me and help me to like put the content
- 29:18out there and I can literally just focus on making the content
- 29:20rather than All the other stuff, which I'll be honest, I don't
- 29:24get a lot of excitement or fun out of editing and posting
- 29:27online. And these are all the things
- 29:29behind the scenes that just take time because it's just me doing
- 29:32it all and it does take a lot of time and it's what can you do?
- 29:36Who else is gonna do it? No one, you know, unless you pay
- 29:39someone and I don't have the means to do that.
- 29:41So what else is there? Got to be done and everyone's
- 29:45done it and there's loads of people doing it.
- 29:47And one thing that always comes back to me is like If I sit
- 29:52there and I feel like I kind of feel like I can't be asked, it's
- 29:55that wall, how much do you want this?
- 29:57How much do you really want this?
- 30:00And then I sort of sit back and let them know.
- 30:02I do. I really, really want this and
- 30:04that well you need to do it then, don't you need to go and
- 30:08put that stuff out there? I'm not well.
- 30:12All right then I guess I go. Go, go get the work done.
- 30:17I feel that way about many other things as well as the same with
- 30:19Jim, you know, I feel like the best sessions I have for the
- 30:22ones where I don't want to go because I go and I find that
- 30:27I'll push myself really hard because I don't want to be there
- 30:30and then it works out being a better session.
- 30:32Weirdly So, I don't know. Maybe there's something to that.
- 30:37it's a wonderful feeling being able to live stream and have fun
- 30:40with people around the world especially when I'm going
- 30:44through hard times I think I covered this a little bit before
- 30:46but I just want to sort of reiterate that I get just as
- 30:50much excitement and joy from doing this as you do.
- 30:54Like when I do a live stream where people really, really love
- 30:57it and enjoy it or I do a podcast and it was received
- 30:59really well when people enjoyed it or, you know, people check
- 31:03that my act and stuff and they liked it or they like the new
- 31:05song that I wrote. That means the world to me.
- 31:09Not just because it's nice to hear like nice things, people
- 31:11say, but because people got genuine enjoyment enjoyment.
- 31:15Sorry from that. and, It kind of, and again, I said this
- 31:22before, but a kind of gives the work some credibility and the
- 31:26sense like it's some, it's like, okay, this meant something to
- 31:30other people. I didn't just mean something to
- 31:31me personally, but it meant something to other people and
- 31:34that's amazing. And, you know, and I think
- 31:38there's a big I like I learn a lot from doing this.
- 31:43I learned so much from every time I interview someone that
- 31:47blows my mind. I do a lot of research,
- 31:49obviously for every single episode in terms of like the
- 31:52questions I'm going to ask people sometimes I'll look a bit
- 31:55more into a topic so I understand it better so then I
- 31:58can ask better questions because I understand the topic a bit
- 32:02better and I learned things one time through my livestream
- 32:07audience you know and I said recently in a stream but I'll
- 32:11say it here like it's a privilege and an honor to be
- 32:14able to do it and to be able to reach people around the world
- 32:18and hopefully spread some joy and and bring some
- 32:21entertainment, you know, that that is a privilege and an honor
- 32:24to be able to do that. And I'm very grateful to be able
- 32:27to do that. So, thank you.
- 32:30Yeah, I covered this a little bit earlier online life versus
- 32:33real life. Woe cameras going on.
- 32:36Yeah. Oh, you can see a little bit of
- 32:38my behind Seems though. Yeah so I fun fact I have this
- 32:42audio tracking software, audio recording, software audio
- 32:47recording software. It's always in the background
- 32:49here. I learned that I could actually
- 32:51record on Zoom which is the video player that I use to
- 32:55create the podcast. And then this in order to, I
- 33:00mean this is kind of like a backup failsafe.
- 33:05But this is how the podcast started with just audio
- 33:08recording. I didn't realize you could use
- 33:09both. Oh that same time.
- 33:11I didn't think my computer could take it but apparently it can.
- 33:14So yeah, that's good. Yeah, online life versus real
- 33:18life. I guess I kind of already some
- 33:21that up pretty well before. Didn't know, let's move on.
- 33:23Let's move on goals and why I'm using social media platforms to
- 33:28promote my projects to create. These are notes that I wrote to
- 33:32myself to create a community / audience motivation for creating
- 33:37and livestreams. Yeah, I mean look.
- 33:40I am using platforms, such as Tick-Tock and Instagram to
- 33:44promote myself. My main goal is to be an actor
- 33:46and a voice actor as a profession, but there are other
- 33:49goals. I want to release all of my
- 33:50music. For example, professionally, I
- 33:53want to get the podcast sponsored.
- 33:55I want to build an audience on patreon, there's so many things
- 33:59I want to do, I want to travel on a, make a travel documentary,
- 34:02what a travel, the world and live like a king, you know, I
- 34:06just, there's so much. I want to do with my life and I
- 34:11want to share that with people. I want to do those things and
- 34:16share in that enjoyment and passion that I have for life
- 34:19with other people. Above All Else.
- 34:24That would be like my ultimate goal.
- 34:27Who knows? Maybe it could happen.
- 34:31All right, let's move forwards. What's it?
- 34:35Like when there's a hundred people watching your lives
- 34:39compliment in your hair and eyes, and voice is kind of goes
- 34:47back to the first question that Pamela asked earlier.
- 34:53Surreal. Happens.
- 34:56Every once in a while. You get a couple of hundred
- 34:57people in their surreal because I don't really see myself as,
- 35:02like, special or anything. Like I just see myself as quite
- 35:05regular in average and normal, whatever, just a regular guy and
- 35:09Regular Joe. So, when I receive a little bit
- 35:12of attention, it's nice. You know who wouldn't like to
- 35:16feel that way? Sometimes I think I used to
- 35:22think, like, all people would just picking me, but I've begun
- 35:26to understand now, that people are being genuine.
- 35:29They genuinely feel that way. And I mean, they're so lovely to
- 35:35hear. You know, I'm, I'm nothing taken
- 35:38back by that some of the stuff that I receive and I'll read
- 35:42some of that here today, blows me away. and, Yeah.
- 35:50I mean what else can you say it just it just takes you back.
- 35:54It makes you re-evaluate things and I think it makes you
- 35:57appreciate things more. You know, when those people say
- 36:01these lovely things and they appreciate you and everything
- 36:03that you're doing. It's Again, confirmation of
- 36:07everything that you're doing, you're doing something right.
- 36:09You're reaching a lot of people and people are enjoying you and
- 36:14Maybe that's a sign. That there's something working
- 36:18here now, I don't know. Let's move it forward.
- 36:23You have a following. So there's a fourth, that's a
- 36:26form of fame, or do you not see it that way?
- 36:29I don't see it that way. It's like, I don't like to use
- 36:34the word fan, because in my head, a fan is a fan of like
- 36:39someone that's like famous. That's like, you know, a
- 36:42professional actor, or a musician or something like that.
- 36:45Like, I'm just a guy on the inside.
- 36:46Internet, who has big dreams? Like, when people ask me, what I
- 36:49do for a living, it's that. Well, I work in a bath.
- 36:51Minimum wage and then I all. Yeah, okay, you know, like, I'm
- 36:54not, I'm not like a big deal or something, you know.
- 36:58I mean, like so I can't really imagine that like, having a big
- 37:03following online. I don't have a big following.
- 37:06I have a small following, it's grown.
- 37:08It's grown massively and it's amazing to be reaching all these
- 37:11people. But I guess I would be termed.
- 37:14I looked at this up about a year or two As the canno Creator says
- 37:19that people that are under like a couple of thousand or
- 37:22something is regarded as like I think it's anything under 10,000
- 37:26is a nano Creator. So that's what I would be.
- 37:28But yeah, no I mean, I guess if I was famous I would have to
- 37:39Something would have to happen where like someone will come up
- 37:41to this in in the street and ask for like a photo with me or like
- 37:45an autograph or something. I think, then I might be like,
- 37:47okay, I guess this stuff is working and I'm becoming famous
- 37:52or whatever but like, yeah, I don't consider myself famous in
- 37:58any way. I'm not.
- 38:00I mean that's just a fact about, but it's amazing to, as I said
- 38:05before, have a following and reach these people and it's cool
- 38:08when you see See these people checking in and especially when
- 38:11you haven't seen these, people check in a while and they're
- 38:13like, hey, it's been a while you're like, hey how you doing,
- 38:15like, how's life treating you? And again, I think it's even
- 38:19more special when the same people keep coming because they
- 38:24gain enjoyment from what you're doing, and this like, there's a
- 38:26level of trust. There's like all if I come to
- 38:28these livestreams, I check the stuff out.
- 38:30This is what I'm going to receive.
- 38:31So I'm going to keep coming back and that's the same way that I
- 38:35feel about the content that I consume from from creators to.
- 38:38I You know, it's you come there because you have a certain
- 38:42expectation built up in your mind of what you can expect to
- 38:45receive. And as long as that created
- 38:48delivers, then you're going to stick around, aren't you?
- 38:50And you're going to support their work.
- 38:51And I think part of it comes down to liking that person as
- 38:56well if you like that person you want to support them because you
- 38:59want to see them do well and you want to see them grow and when
- 39:02they do become more successful, it's like you almost feel like
- 39:05you share in it because you've shared in their Me you've shared
- 39:09them, you've promoted them, probably a little bit, you
- 39:12exported them and then when they do get successfully like yeah,
- 39:15we did it. Yeah I'm happy to see this
- 39:17person finally get the recognition they deserve.
- 39:20That's awesome to see. Speaking of which this this
- 39:25quite I was going to save this to the end but it feels like a
- 39:27good time to say this. Now, This is a quote from
- 39:33Pamela. So many of us want to see you
- 39:36succeed, and acting and singing. It's hard work and it's a
- 39:40business, but you're smart and dedicated, you're on a journey
- 39:45to be discovered We believe in you.
- 39:53I almost cried when I read that the first time because I think
- 40:06the Like, I love my family two bits.
- 40:11They're wonderful, but yeah, they don't believe that I can do
- 40:16this. That I can be successful.
- 40:19I think a lot of it comes down to them worrying about me.
- 40:23And I get that, I understand that.
- 40:25But I've never had anyone from there from the family's or turn
- 40:28around and be like, yeah, I believe that you can be a
- 40:31successful actor, I believe in you.
- 40:32I think I know you can do this. I've had people tell me, I
- 40:35should manage my expectations or that, you know, it's a hobby or,
- 40:39you know, whatever. And In fairness, I don't have
- 40:43anything measurable to show them like, hey, look at this thing.
- 40:46I've achieved So In fairness, that's the response I am going
- 40:49to get, but I think Having people say that, they believe in
- 40:56you. means so much because it's like, It reaffirms your own
- 41:04belief in yourself and it makes you realize that it's not just
- 41:07you on your own. You're not crazy.
- 41:09You're not crazy to believe in yourself because other people
- 41:13believe in you and they see it and they maybe they feel it too.
- 41:17Like the best way I can explain it is that I feel like I have
- 41:22something to offer. I feel like my life is supposed
- 41:26to be as an Entertainer and a performer.
- 41:29I feel like that's what I'm supposed to do.
- 41:32That's what I have to offer to offer people entertainment to
- 41:35offer people. Hopefully Joy, maybe inspiration
- 41:39get people thinking, I don't know, I'm still figuring it all
- 41:42out, but I know that when I do it, it feels right.
- 41:47And I can't say that about other things in my life, you know, I
- 41:50work hard, I could be a fairly decent bartender.
- 41:53You know, I worked in marketing. I could be a fairly decent
- 41:55Market here, but my heart was never in it.
- 41:58It's not in it, you know, the most enjoyment ever get from
- 42:03bartending is, you know, seeing a smile on a customer's face or
- 42:06making a particularly nice cocktail.
- 42:08But, you know, other than that and here comes the sirens
- 42:12ruining my podcast. I think this might be the third
- 42:15or fourth time. This has happened now, You might
- 42:18not even hear that, then it depends if my mic picks up.
- 42:21But yeah. I digress.
- 42:28It means a lot to have people believe in me because I didn't
- 42:31always believe in me. It's only really a recent thing
- 42:36where I've started to believe in myself and believe that I might
- 42:38have a shot at this and look, maybe it.
- 42:41Maybe I'm foolish to believe that maybe it is a pipe dream.
- 42:44I don't know. But one thing I know about
- 42:47myself is that I'd never give up.
- 42:49I'm too stubborn for that shit. I'm gonna do this because it
- 42:55makes me happy to do it because I can't imagine my life.
- 43:00Well, I can't imagine my life without creativity.
- 43:02I lived it. And I was miserable and I didn't
- 43:04understand why I was miserable until it was made abundantly
- 43:10obvious and clear to me that what was missing in my life was
- 43:13creativity and creative Endeavors.
- 43:15And so I need that in my life and I can't live a conventional
- 43:19life and Lord knows. I've tried, I've tried to do
- 43:21shift work. I've tried to do the 9 to 5, I
- 43:23just can't find contentment in it.
- 43:25Like I feel like part of my reason for living is always
- 43:32pushing the boat always seeing where I can push things like
- 43:35even if I would become rich and successful or whatever.
- 43:37Like I'd still want to keep pushing and seeing where I could
- 43:41go. I feel like the journey is never
- 43:43over until you're in the coffin, you know?
- 43:44I mean like it's you just keep going and going and going and
- 43:47just seeing where you can take this like when I go to the gym,
- 43:52it's the same principle. Like I'm pushing myself to see
- 43:55how far I can go. Like I already achieved my body
- 43:58goes about 2 or 3 months ago, right?
- 44:01My goal was to lose weight get into shape you know, all that
- 44:05and I was like wow I can achieve that in this amount of time.
- 44:08I'm what else can I achieve? And I apply that logic to
- 44:12everything else. It's like, who knows where it
- 44:15could go. As long as we keep this fire
- 44:17within ourselves and we keep going and pushing and driving
- 44:19forward, who knows where we could take this.
- 44:23And that's exciting to think about So yeah, thank you for
- 44:28believing in me. Pam, thank you.
- 44:29Everybody that believes in me. I appreciate you all and hey,
- 44:33who knows? Maybe one day we'll make it and
- 44:37I'll replay this clip somewhere while I'm on like an award show
- 44:41or something and everyone will be like.
- 44:44And if you really embarrassing because I'm saying this and
- 44:46looking at myself and I'm like hey hey hey future me, we did
- 44:51it. Oh, maybe I'm just crazy.
- 44:55I don't know. Alright, so I've got a bunch of
- 45:00questions sent in by the wonderful Vilma as I thank you
- 45:04very much for this and I just said, I did, it was funny.
- 45:10Actually, I don't think I've ever told you guys this but I
- 45:13use my brakes at work to sit down and write notes and
- 45:17questions and stuff for future episodes of podcasts and content
- 45:21for the live stream as sorry for the patreon.
- 45:23On. That's what I use my brakes for
- 45:25it. Work, I just sit on a couch in
- 45:28the hotel reception and just write this stuff out.
- 45:32I don't even take a break. I actually just sit work more
- 45:35but that's that's when I wrote these ones down.
- 45:38So just so, you know, questions from Vilma, what are the biggest
- 45:42challenges of content creation? I said not being deterred by low
- 45:47viewership which we covered earlier because I think that You
- 45:51know, let it's going to happen. You know, even if you're really
- 45:53successful, you're still going to get stuff that not everyone
- 45:56clicked with. It's just it's just you know,
- 45:59sometimes things don't click, you know, it's just how it is
- 46:01but you can't let that stop you from doing it, you know.
- 46:07And you might get people here in there.
- 46:08Be like oh how many followers you got?
- 46:10Our okay then I'm not going to check throughout.
- 46:11Oh you don't you don't have enough views so you're not worth
- 46:15checking out, but every once in a while, someone will check you
- 46:17out. And I'll Stick Around.
- 46:21And that's something real special.
- 46:23So keep going finding time to create.
- 46:26Now, this is more of a new concern, because, as I said
- 46:29earlier, I never used to have this problem.
- 46:32Used to have all the time in the world.
- 46:34Now I work crazy hours and have to find time like I had to a lot
- 46:38time to do this podcast today and you know, I'll have to a lot
- 46:43time to edit and put it out and that will take more time and
- 46:47it's just but I will say that. At because I have less time.
- 46:52Now I value the time that I do have and I feel like I'm more
- 46:56productive now. So in a way it's kind of a good
- 46:59thing but I could definitely get more done if I had more time but
- 47:03that that is a concern with being a content, creator is the
- 47:06less time you have the less time you have to do things.
- 47:10So it's always a struggle, being consistent is another one.
- 47:15I found this as a bit of a struggle with the podcast,
- 47:18because it's all well and good. When you got Two guests lined
- 47:21up, sometimes you don't, I mean this week didn't have a guest I
- 47:24think there's one or two more weeks coming up where I won't
- 47:27have a guest. So I'll need to do more
- 47:29topic-based episodes and I'm happy to do that but these
- 47:32episodes are a lot harder because I'm just talking
- 47:35consistently for a long time. I mean, we're up to 47 minutes.
- 47:38As I record this right now and it's like I always try to hit
- 47:43the 45-minute Mark, but I never want to half-assed these things.
- 47:48I want to give people like full proper content.
- 47:53So that's that's a hard aspect of this and being consistent, I
- 47:58think is important because it gets a certain degree of
- 48:01expectation with your audience. So I originally couldn't really
- 48:06figure out how many episodes to do and then I kind of fell into
- 48:11a rhythm of one a week that was manageable.
- 48:14It continues to be manageable, it may be subject to change in
- 48:18the future. I don't know.
- 48:19Depends on where schedule, but We'll always try to get at least
- 48:22a few episodes out a month June. And I mean something but you
- 48:26know, as it as it works right now, one a week seems to work
- 48:29and I feel like sometimes less is more as well.
- 48:33It's important to get the balance right and see what the
- 48:35audience is saying and cl, the view of viewership is reacting
- 48:40to things and then kind of Base it on that.
- 48:43Also I think it helps me to enjoy doing it more.
- 48:46If there's just too much of something, I get a bit sick of
- 48:48it and then the enjoyment Runs Out.
- 48:50Out, whereas if I haven't recorded in a while, I get a bit
- 48:53giddy that I got excited about doing the episode today because
- 48:56I started thinking about it, like, while I was at the gym, I
- 48:59thought about it last week, you know, I've been planning this
- 49:02and now I'm finally doing it and it's exciting to be doing it.
- 49:05And I think it's going well, I mean um I hope you guys are
- 49:08enjoying it, I'm enjoying it so but yeah.
- 49:11Also being consistent with other platforms, you know, there was a
- 49:14time when I was posting like three videos a day because a
- 49:18friend of mine online and said that that's what he's supposed
- 49:20to do, want it. Up and I kind of want to varying
- 49:24degrees of success, but ultimately, it hasn't really
- 49:26made a difference either way. So I'm not as consistent but I
- 49:30try to at least get a few videos out a week on all those
- 49:33platforms where I can. I try to be fairly consistent
- 49:37with patreon content, because people are paying for that.
- 49:40So, I've really got to make an effort there so far.
- 49:42I've got like four episodes up of the life with Christian,
- 49:46Reeve Story, Time series. And I think I'd released like To
- 49:50a month so far. I feel like that's manageable
- 49:54with everything else that I'm doing, but who knows, if I get
- 49:57more time or I'll try and do more, and if I get more content
- 50:00ideas, I'll do more but being consistent across all these
- 50:03different platforms is tricky. It's a constant Balancing Act.
- 50:08But you know, I love doing it. And that's probably the most
- 50:12important thing. So, what are the biggest rewards
- 50:15of content creation? I've touched on this before but
- 50:19I want to address it here again. The messages you receive from
- 50:22followers. I've received messages from
- 50:24Vilma from Pam, from so many other wonderful people around
- 50:28the world. Telling me, hey, this this, you
- 50:31know, shout out to Ash. I received your email the other
- 50:33day. I hope you got my reply if she's
- 50:36if sorry, if they are listening, There's something about
- 50:43receiving messages from people. When they tell you like, hey, I
- 50:47was going through a hard time and this helped me for it or you
- 50:50know, I was battling with this and this really helped me like I
- 50:56can't put into words what that means for me to hear because I
- 51:03never really envisioned myself as being someone special.
- 51:07That might impact other people's lives.
- 51:10I always kind of battled with this idea of inadequacy, and I
- 51:14still battle with it every day and it's a constant battle.
- 51:18I must have a much healthier relationship with myself.
- 51:21Now, then I did years ago and doing this stuff and having
- 51:26wonderful people online, reinforced that and say, such
- 51:30lovely things has helped me to build confidence.
- 51:32Yes. And now I do believe in myself
- 51:34and I do believe I'm not inadequate, but it's still
- 51:37there. It's still in my head and when
- 51:42you receive these messages knowing that you've helped other
- 51:47people, Suddenly, It's like You start thinking like, hey, maybe
- 51:53I am good enough like I was, I was good enough to bring a smile
- 51:56to this person's face. I was I was able to do this as
- 51:58able to do that. Like maybe there is something
- 52:00here. But more importantly you you
- 52:05begin to realize that what you're doing is bigger than
- 52:08yourself. Remember years ago, someone
- 52:10saying to me that one key aspiration, you should have in
- 52:15life is to pursue something bigger than yourself. because if
- 52:21you do that, you always creating something of value.
- 52:26And it's not all about you and you'll learn so much more.
- 52:29Like I remember when I did my volunteer work that lesson rang
- 52:34true because I began to see how my actions could affect people.
- 52:41In a really, really positive way, like just little things
- 52:44like, moving some furniture into someones place who's recently
- 52:48just come off the streets. And there's now got somewhere to
- 52:50live and seeing their face, kind of light up like a Christmas
- 52:53tree, because they're so happy. And they feel like safe and
- 52:58secure for once in their life. They don't have to worry
- 53:00anymore, you know, like that was special or helping a single mom
- 53:05who's stressed out. He's got like kids to worry
- 53:08about and, you know, like she asked like, hey, You help me
- 53:11move this thing and they're like, yeah, sure, no problem.
- 53:13And you move it and then you get like a big appreciative like
- 53:18thank you. Thank you so much like and you
- 53:20can tell this person like has gone through hell.
- 53:22Like they haven't said it but you can see it in their eyes and
- 53:25you can feel it when they're talking to you and you know I've
- 53:28been there. We all have been there.
- 53:32It's special. It's special for me to know
- 53:35that. I am impacted people's lives in
- 53:38that way. And believe me it's not lost on
- 53:41me. I I really appreciate it.
- 53:44It's an honor and a privilege to be able to do it.
- 53:47And thank you so much, honestly. Thank you so much other rewards
- 53:54of doing content. Creation is the feeling of
- 53:56accomplishment when you finish a piece of content, especially
- 54:00when it takes a long time and a lot of effort to create all my
- 54:03God have there been like episodes, I've created or videos
- 54:07of create for YouTube or whatever way, it's just taking
- 54:09forever to do like forever and I finally get it done on them.
- 54:13It's done. I'm finished.
- 54:15Finally all, like, sometimes you create something that you're
- 54:18really proud of, and loads of people really like it, and
- 54:20you're like, whoo, yay. But then there's also the flip
- 54:24of that sometimes like you'll release a video where you put
- 54:27zero effort into it and it just pops off.
- 54:29And you're like, well, this is typical, I spent hours on this
- 54:32one. Nothing I spend two seconds on
- 54:35this one. Boom, is it they call it sods
- 54:39law? Yeah, there's a certain degree
- 54:42of Accomplishment when when you when you get things done and
- 54:47especially when people enjoy content as well, that's
- 54:49obviously an accomplishment. So yeah, you are involved in
- 54:55several creative Endeavors. What do you have to say to those
- 55:00who tell you to pick your Niche and not have your fingers in
- 55:03many pies or eggs in? Not have your eggs at all?
- 55:07All in one basket as they say, well, maybe I got it wrong.
- 55:12Well, I mean, I kind of I, I touched on this earlier but I
- 55:16don't want to be restricted in life.
- 55:19It's a big fear of mine to be restricted and boxed in and have
- 55:22to do one thing. I want to do many things, I get
- 55:26ideas and I want to just use those like that if I get an idea
- 55:30like if I for example, if I want to write a song normally an idea
- 55:34comes to me and I start writing or it's a feeling, you know, I
- 55:38don't sort of sit down really go, right?
- 55:39I'm going to write a song like I have done that in the past.
- 55:42But I've never really written anything.
- 55:44I've been particularly proud of in that way.
- 55:46It's always come to me. In a feeling or a moment or two
- 55:50am thought, you know? That to me, is how creativity
- 55:54works for me personally, and it can be anything and idea for a
- 55:58podcast and idea for live streaming idea for music and
- 56:01idea for acting skits or whatever.
- 56:04You know. It's like you get these ideas
- 56:06and they and they I can I look at creativity like as being like
- 56:10a tree and you know there's many different branches and you are
- 56:15able to use all of them. You know, you're not restricted
- 56:19to one and I hate the idea of being worshipped the white.
- 56:22And yeah, I see so many people that have been successful doing
- 56:27many different things. I know, generally speaking, they
- 56:30have built themselves up in one particular field, but, you know,
- 56:33again, look at what I'm doing. Like I've told everyone here,
- 56:38time time again, that I am pursuing acting in voice acting
- 56:41as my main priority and I will prioritize that and sometimes do
- 56:45over other things, you know. Come don't make any active
- 56:49strides for example, towards getting my music recorded
- 56:53because in regards to priorities acting as more of a priority
- 56:57than music, that's not to say that I will never do if I get an
- 57:00opportunity to record my music. I won't do it or if I get the
- 57:02opportunity to tour I won't do it because of course I will.
- 57:05But I'm going to go with my levels of priorities and I'm
- 57:11going to do what I want to do regardless and I just I hate
- 57:16when people try and tell me like that.
- 57:18It's one thing. Thing.
- 57:18Okay, when people give you advice and they say, you should
- 57:21stick to a niche because it will be easier to be successful
- 57:25there, right? It will be it.
- 57:27Most likely will be but I don't want to do that because then
- 57:30I'll just be sad that I'm not going to do those other things.
- 57:34And, you know, my happiness. I feel was like the most
- 57:37important thing with all of this like I want to be happy, I don't
- 57:40want to be miserable and yeah, I guess that's the best answer I
- 57:45could give to that question. Was there a day that you woke up
- 57:50and thought I do not feel like creating anything today or is
- 57:54content creation, your souls fuel.
- 57:56I love that expression. This is kind of a two-part
- 58:00question. I feel was there ever a day that
- 58:02I felt like that? Of course you get those days.
- 58:07It's not often to be honest but we all have shit days.
- 58:13Joey, we all have days where we're not happy things are not
- 58:15going right? You feel worthless, whatever.
- 58:17It's just Life isn't it? But generally speaking.
- 58:22I always as I said before, I get ideas for things, I get in the
- 58:25mood for things like content creation for me is like a fun
- 58:30Endeavor. It's like a process and you see,
- 58:34sometimes it's short. Sometimes it's long.
- 58:36But it's always a process and it's exciting like seeing where
- 58:40it could go, what it could lead to excetera Etc.
- 58:43Like, there's always something you get from it or you learn
- 58:47from it. Sometimes it goes bad and you
- 58:48learn something from it. But I find that the idea is all
- 58:52Always flowing and it's not let sometimes.
- 58:53I don't have any ideas and I just muck around like, on
- 58:56Tick-Tock like I said, were fucking camera go.
- 59:00Sometimes I don't have any ideas to post, but I'll just put
- 59:04something silly there or maybe I won't post that day and it's
- 59:07okay, it's not a problem. It used to be, I used to think
- 59:09like, oh no, I don't have anything to offer, but now I'm
- 59:12like more relaxed. I might, you know what?
- 59:14If I don't have anything today, maybe something will come
- 59:17tomorrow. And normally that's true.
- 59:20So I don't generally, I think that I love to create fun and
- 59:29it's also because it's a feeling that comes from within.
- 59:31If I haven't said that already and I need And a drive to sort
- 59:37of move forward on a sequential basis.
- 59:40So it's it's within me, it's like a Content creation is a
- 59:45driving force within me and it extends to Everything I Do.
- 59:48You know, with acting voice acting music, podcasting
- 59:51content, creation live stream and there's always ideas popping
- 59:54up. And I get excited by that and I
- 59:58want to share that with people and see where it could go, see
- 1:00:00what it could lead to. You know, I'm always willing to
- 1:00:03collaborate and try different things and see what new things.
- 1:00:06I could be exposed to hello, you never know, like you could
- 1:00:08stumble across something you've never done before and be like,
- 1:00:11hmm, let's try this, let's give this a go see what happens.
- 1:00:16But yeah, that's that kind of brings us to the end.
- 1:00:20I hope you've enjoyed this show. I think it went well, I hope it
- 1:00:25went well it's weird. Doing a show where I'm almost
- 1:00:29entirely talking about myself. I mean we have kind of covered
- 1:00:33the concept of Life as a content creator as a concept and I've
- 1:00:37tried to expand upon that as much as I can without just only
- 1:00:41talking about myself. But a lot of this has come back
- 1:00:44to like how I feel about certain things and it's always kind of
- 1:00:47weird for me to talk about those things but I don't know.
- 1:00:51I mean hopefully, We maybe you got a better insight into how my
- 1:00:55mind works with regards to this stuff and most importantly, I
- 1:00:59hope that you got something out of this.
- 1:01:01I hope that my answers to your questions were sufficient
- 1:01:05enough. Feel free to ask me, any
- 1:01:06follow-up questions? If you have any, if there's
- 1:01:09anything that you want to know? Let me know.
- 1:01:10Let me know. Let me know.
- 1:01:12But yeah. Most importantly like, I hope
- 1:01:14that you guys enjoyed this show and you got something from it.
- 1:01:19I know that I did, I think it's made me kind of Appreciate this
- 1:01:23more again and every once in a while, I always have to pinch
- 1:01:26myself and remind myself of how grateful I am to get to do this.
- 1:01:31So thank you so much. Be safe, be well, and I will see
- 1:01:37you all in the next one.
