- 0:05Speaker 1: When I invited you here I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear When you're a guest in my home You
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty-handed. I said no gifts, your
- 0:28Speaker 1: presence is presence enough.
- 0:30Speaker 2: And I already had too much stuff. So how do
- 0:35Speaker 2: you dare disobey me?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Welcome to....
- 0:51Speaker 3: I said no gifts. I'm Bridger Weininger. I've got to
- 0:54Speaker 3: pick up the energy. You can't run out of energy
- 0:57Speaker 3: four seconds into a podcast. That's tough. Okay, I'm here.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I drove on the freeway. Something I've learned recently that
- 1:06Speaker 3: everyone should know is if you go 100 miles per hour,
- 1:08Speaker 3: you'll lose your license. I just feel like if any
- 1:12Speaker 3: podcast audience needed to hear that, it's this one. I've
- 1:14Speaker 3: only driven 100 miles an hour once. And I live
- 1:20Speaker 3: to tell the tale, but I can't lose my license.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Pulling it together, pulling it together. I need you to
- 1:29Speaker 3: be hyper-focused. If you're listening to this podcast, I need
- 1:34Speaker 3: all of your attention. You need to be seated in
- 1:37Speaker 3: a hardback chair. You need to be in a room
- 1:39Speaker 3: with minimal, minimal distractions. And if that's not happening, pause
- 1:44Speaker 3: and figure it out. Do I have any business to
- 1:48Speaker 3: deal with? I tried watching Hellraiser last night. Didn't click.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Too many rats. Too much slime. I turned it off
- 1:57Speaker 3: after about 25 minutes. I think that's about it. Patreon.com
- 2:03Speaker 3: slash I said no gifts. Go there. Do you subscribe
- 2:08Speaker 3: to a Patreon? I don't know. You click the buttons.
- 2:10Speaker 3: You pick your thing. And then you're off to the races.
- 2:14Speaker 3: We're chatting. We're having a good time. Let me see
- 2:17Speaker 3: if I actually have any business. Oh, I mean, I
- 2:21Speaker 3: did walk into a man at work, into the men's
- 2:24Speaker 3: restroom today. And a man had his pants. He was
- 2:28Speaker 3: standing at the urinal. And this man had his pants
- 2:31Speaker 3: pulled down to a distance that I would describe as different.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I saw everything. And I, you know, good for you.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You know, it spiced up my day. So reach out, man,
- 2:48Speaker 3: and keep doing your thing. Let's get into the podcast.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I've got about another 20 seconds of energy left. Today's
- 2:57Speaker 3: guests are absolutely fantastic. I'm so excited they're here. It's
- 3:01Speaker 3: Darby Lynn Cartwright and Alexis Bevels. You too.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Welcome to the podcast. Oh, my God. Thank you so much, Bridger,
- 3:08Speaker 4: for having us. We're so happy to be here. Also,
- 3:11Speaker 4: I have also driven 100 miles an hour once, and
- 3:14Speaker 4: I got caught coming back down from 100 at 97
- 3:16Speaker 4: miles per hour. No. I got caught. Because I was
- 3:21Speaker 4: on a highway in East Texas and I was in
- 3:22Speaker 4: the middle of nowhere and I thought no one would see.
- 3:24Speaker 4: So it's like, let's try it. I wanted to try
- 3:26Speaker 4: race car driving. What kind of car were you hitting
- 3:29Speaker 4: the gas in? No one knows and there's no way
- 3:31Speaker 4: to find out. Yeah, there really isn't. So I got
- 3:33Speaker 4: a ticket and I had to go to driver school.
- 3:36Speaker 4: And my dad was like, that sounds great. We should
- 3:38Speaker 4: all do that. So my dad and my mom took it.
- 3:40Speaker 3: They wanted to just freshen up.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Yes. I love that. I'm responsible. And then speaking of
- 3:46Speaker 4: my dad, it was torture listening to you talk about
- 3:49Speaker 4: those stories and not being able to interrupt you. My dad,
- 3:52Speaker 4: one time, he used to work for Southwest Airlines. He
- 3:55Speaker 4: was a pilot. And so he used to pee with
- 3:57Speaker 4: his pilot's pants on the ground. Well, we went to–
- 4:00Speaker 4: there was a– I don't know why. It was only
- 4:02Speaker 4: like every four years they would do like a holiday party.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Every four years? Yeah, I don't know. But it was big.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Just when a Republican president was nominated.
- 4:10Speaker 4: There you go. And they rented out a Universal Studios
- 4:14Speaker 4: back then before it was Harry Potter.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Where?
- 4:16Speaker 4: The whole thing?
- 4:16Speaker 3: In Florida.
- 4:18Speaker 4: In Florida. Oh, that makes sense. And the reason, I
- 4:21Speaker 4: loved it. It was amazing. But I was young. I
- 4:24Speaker 4: was impressionable, 13 or 14. I walk into the bathroom
- 4:27Speaker 4: and I see a man. His pants weren't down to
- 4:29Speaker 4: a different place. But his, he, oh, he was walking
- 4:33Speaker 4: in the bathroom and he just whipped it out just
- 4:36Speaker 4: to get ready, walking to the urinal. And so I, too,
- 4:39Speaker 4: saw everything.
- 4:40Speaker 3: He had to, I mean, he was just on his way.
- 4:42Speaker 4: He was on his way and he saw his peanuts.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Some of us think ahead.
- 4:47Speaker 3: He's efficient.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 3: He's not wasting the time walking through the bathroom.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 3: You know, you have to be moving while unzipping.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 4: No, was he standing still in the middle of the bathroom?
- 4:57Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 4:57Speaker 4: He was walking in and he was like, he unzipped.
- 5:00Speaker 4: It doesn't make sense. And I remember it kind of
- 5:03Speaker 4: flopped out. It flopped? Yeah. Well, girl, I'd take mine
- 5:06Speaker 4: out too. Good for him.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah, if you've got it.
- 5:11Speaker 4: I was in a Hudson News in the O'Hare Airport
- 5:14Speaker 4: many years ago during my twink days. I don't want
- 5:17Speaker 4: to talk about it, but I am going to talk
- 5:19Speaker 4: about it really quickly. And I got cruised in the
- 5:22Speaker 4: Hudson News and there was a man, gorgeous body, face
- 5:29Speaker 4: had just been, it looked like he'd been staring at
- 5:30Speaker 4: the sun his entire life. And so he's from Florida.
- 5:34Speaker 4: And I'm looking at the magazines. This was before internet. Oh, magazines.
- 5:40Speaker 1: No, it wasn't.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Obviously it wasn't. But it was close to. I mean,
- 5:43Speaker 4: I'm youngish. And he whips his dick out and he
- 5:48Speaker 4: puts it like, in the magazine he's holding. Like a bookmark.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Do we know what magazine? Family Circle.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Okay, can I tell you? I don't, but I... told
- 5:58Speaker 4: this story so much over the years I've created a
- 6:00Speaker 4: reality where it is actually Martha Stewart living.
- 6:03Speaker 3: That makes perfect sense that's the one.
- 6:05Speaker 4: You want to do with it she'd know where to
- 6:06Speaker 4: put it you know she's so good at yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 3: She's got tips and tricks she does.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Dicks and tricks exactly which is my new magazine coming
- 6:15Speaker 4: out next year.
- 6:16Speaker 3: You're going to revive the publishing world.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yeah that's why we're here to announce it now's the
- 6:21Speaker 4: time we're getting into publishing print.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Is back yeah 2027 dick print is back is it.
- 6:29Speaker 4: It never really was.
- 6:29Speaker 3: It's an uphill battle.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Yeah. I got to say, I went to Bad Drag
- 6:32Speaker 4: Race at Dynasty Typewriter with Mono and Oscar. They have
- 6:36Speaker 4: to pay me every time I say it. And they
- 6:39Speaker 4: have like a pit crew boys like in tiny little speedos.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 6:42Speaker 4: And you can see dick print in those. But it
- 6:45Speaker 4: also feels wrong to look at it. But then it
- 6:48Speaker 4: also feels like I'm drunk at Dynasty Typewriter. I might
- 6:52Speaker 4: as well.
- 6:52Speaker 3: What else am I going to do?
- 6:53Speaker 4: Exactly. I think that's what, I think they like that.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Looking at their wieners? For people to look at their prints. Paul,
- 7:01Speaker 4: I looked, but it was quick.
- 7:03Speaker 3: You're calling out the particular person.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Paul.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Paul, reach out.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Paul, thank you. You should have him on. He's gifted.
- 7:12Speaker 4: He's very gifted. It's not like super big, but it's
- 7:17Speaker 4: very pronounced.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:20Speaker 2: How are you?
- 7:21Speaker 3: I'm good, but I'm wondering, you've had the speeding story.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Have you ever driven that fast? You and I are
- 7:26Speaker 3: in the club.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yes. Oh, no, because my driving instructor, when I was
- 7:32Speaker 4: learning to drive before the towers fell, it was like
- 7:35Speaker 4: right before the towers fell. We knew not what lay ahead.
- 7:37Speaker 4: It was going to be a horrible year. It was
- 7:39Speaker 4: a different time.
- 7:40Speaker 3: A different time for speeding.
- 7:41Speaker 4: It was. It really was. You'd have to be in
- 7:43Speaker 4: a different vehicle, like a plane. So I was in this...
- 7:47Speaker 4: driver's ed and he's dead now in my mind but
- 7:51Speaker 4: his name was max maxwell okay if he's still alive
- 7:54Speaker 4: it's a different guy and he was um he was
- 7:57Speaker 4: a stunt guy like a what do they call it
- 8:01Speaker 4: stunt man sure close and stunt guys what they call
- 8:04Speaker 4: him like they call each other right like.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Your buddy buddy once you know each other you've been
- 8:08Speaker 3: out to dinner.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Yeah yeah i threw this guy down some stairs he's
- 8:11Speaker 4: my my stunt guy um He was the stunt guy
- 8:15Speaker 4: in Terminator, either one or two. It's none of my
- 8:18Speaker 4: business which ones. And there was a scene where they
- 8:22Speaker 4: bust through a wall. A cap for cutie. He's dressed
- 8:26Speaker 4: as a cop. And either Terminator or car, one or
- 8:30Speaker 4: the other, burst through. It might have been Transformers. Again,
- 8:33Speaker 4: I don't. Stop asking me. It's none of my business.
- 8:37Speaker 4: So I guess when it happened, he got, like, Severely injured.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Because he was driving the car.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Because he was the cop sitting at the table and
- 8:48Speaker 4: the wall collapsed on him because of Terminator and or car.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Does Terminator ever drive a car or is he too fast? Again,
- 8:56Speaker 3: probably none of our business. I can't picture Terminator driving
- 8:59Speaker 3: a car.
- 9:00Speaker 4: That I want to dive into.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Terminator in a little Miata or something.
- 9:03Speaker 4: A little Miata, tiny Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wouldn't it be fun
- 9:06Speaker 4: if you ever met him and it turned out he
- 9:08Speaker 4: was really small? He's like 5'6.
- 9:10Speaker 3: That would be so fun. I would be thrilled.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Hollywood's all lies. It is lies. Anyway, he almost died,
- 9:16Speaker 4: so he had to quit being stunt, and he became
- 9:19Speaker 4: driving instructor in Memphis, Tennessee. Kill yourself. And if you
- 9:23Speaker 4: got to drive with Max Maxwell, you got to drive
- 9:26Speaker 4: his Mustang. The only thing was... You'd have to listen
- 9:30Speaker 4: to the story about him almost dying from Terminator every
- 9:34Speaker 4: time you were in the car. Every time. And every Friday,
- 9:37Speaker 4: we'd watch it.
- 9:38Speaker 3: You would watch Terminator?
- 9:39Speaker 4: Or the scene? Just the scene. I've got to see
- 9:41Speaker 4: the scene. That almost killed him. Well, if he's still— no,
- 9:44Speaker 4: he's probably dead. He's got to be dead. 2000—one second.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Max, Max, 2000?
- 9:49Speaker 4: He's old as fuck. He's not happy.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Do we think Max Maxwell is his stunt name or
- 9:59Speaker 3: his birth name?
- 10:00Speaker 4: I think they're the name of his nipples. Because the
- 10:02Speaker 4: only thing that he liked to keep forward more than
- 10:07Speaker 4: his story of almost dying because of Terminator and or
- 10:10Speaker 4: car was his nipples. His nipples were huge, which I
- 10:14Speaker 4: now understand is like a thing when people like to
- 10:17Speaker 4: do this sexually.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Oh.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Sure.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Oh, for listeners, first of all, if you're driving, speed up.
- 10:24Speaker 4: I am pretending I have erasers for nipples. Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Wait, but how does this have anything to do with
- 10:30Speaker 3: you going too fast?
- 10:31Speaker 4: He told me never to drive fast, and I believe
- 10:32Speaker 4: Max Maxwell.
- 10:34Speaker 3: That's true.
- 10:34Speaker 4: He survived a car and or Terminator.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Right. I had coached Saluga.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Coach what?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Saluga.
- 10:41Speaker 4: I love that. You had a coach? Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Was he hot? Unfortunately, no. He was kind of disgusting,
- 10:47Speaker 3: to be honest.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Drive it off the road. Found some headshots of Max Maxwell.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Is that him?
- 10:52Speaker 1: 2024.
- 10:52Speaker 4: He's great.
- 10:53Speaker 3: This guy rules.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Darby, is that him?
- 10:55Speaker 3: It's Gandalf.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Do you have one where his nipples are showing? No,
- 10:58Speaker 4: it's got to be him. That's up, man. Fucking crazy.
- 11:02Speaker 4: That's incredible. As of 2024. Okay, well, it's 2026. So,
- 11:05Speaker 4: who knows?
- 11:05Speaker 3: Something could happen. Or maybe....
- 11:09Speaker 4: Were these taken for his memorial? Is that what it is?
- 11:14Speaker 3: The day before.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Instead of getting buried in the ground, he gets buried
- 11:17Speaker 4: by a wall. I learned to drive in a Sears. Oh, well,
- 11:22Speaker 4: you know what? I'm happy he had a driving school
- 11:25Speaker 4: in Sears. Texas is crazy.
- 11:28Speaker 3: In the building?
- 11:30Speaker 4: In the mall. In the Sears in the mall, yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 4: They had a driving school. It looked like you were
- 11:34Speaker 4: going behind where all the workers go. And there was
- 11:37Speaker 4: a little classroom there. And I had driving school. Oh, okay.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I'm picturing you driving through a Sears and I'm thinking,
- 11:44Speaker 3: how did I get there?
- 11:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I started with Max Maxwell and then driving through
- 11:47Speaker 4: the wall. Yeah, that's true. I gotta be honest. I
- 11:50Speaker 4: gotta be honest. It's my deepest shame that I did
- 11:52Speaker 4: actually drive through the Sears. And so they didn't let
- 11:56Speaker 4: me pass the first time. But she was a minor,
- 11:59Speaker 4: so they couldn't charge her for that debt. I was
- 12:00Speaker 4: working in the mines. Yeah, she was also working in
- 12:03Speaker 4: the mines. So she couldn't see. She had smoke in
- 12:05Speaker 4: her eyes.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Minors have to take advantage. I feel like minors don't
- 12:08Speaker 3: take advantage much advantage of being able to do whatever
- 12:11Speaker 3: they want.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Because we're scared.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Steal, steal, steal.
- 12:14Speaker 4: I agree. Steal. My husband. At least. Or copper, whatever
- 12:19Speaker 4: they're mining. You ever watch Poldark? Yeah, you ever been there? Poldark.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Have you ever been to Poland? No. It's not Poland. What?
- 12:26Speaker 4: Poldark is a.
- 12:27Speaker 3: It's a sci-fi?
- 12:28Speaker 4: No, it's like a historical romance. Oh, but still, answer
- 12:32Speaker 4: the question. Have you ever been to Poland?
- 12:34Speaker 3: No, but it's a hot new destination. I'm staying at Krakow.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Really?
- 12:38Speaker 3: Krakow 2027.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Krakow 2027. Oh, my God. I said no gifts live.
- 12:42Speaker 3: It's the new Tulum.
- 12:43Speaker 4: I said no gifts live. Tulum.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Wait.
- 12:45Speaker 4: I went to your last I said no gifts live
- 12:49Speaker 4: at Dynasty, and I just want to say, I think
- 12:53Speaker 4: I'm older than you. It doesn't matter.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Well, let's prove it.
- 12:57Speaker 4: What I'm about to say is not crazy or creepy
- 13:00Speaker 4: because we're the same age.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:02Speaker 4: You were wearing the tiniest little robe and your legs.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Have you ever met Elliot Glazer? I love it.
- 13:10Speaker 3: He was just on the Patreon.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Y'all have the same, like your legs are overdeveloped. Was
- 13:14Speaker 4: it like... Did you have to push the car through
- 13:16Speaker 4: the wall to hurt Max Maxwell? How do you build
- 13:19Speaker 4: up those muscles? It was distracting as hell. And since
- 13:23Speaker 4: we're doing compliments, I'll say that I Said No Gifts
- 13:25Speaker 4: is probably my second favorite podcast theme song of all time.
- 13:31Speaker 3: What's your number one?
- 13:31Speaker 4: Go ahead and sing it. I said no gifts, your
- 13:35Speaker 4: presence is persons in love. And I already have too
- 13:40Speaker 4: much stuff. Are you going to sue me for singing it?
- 13:42Speaker 3: I was just going to say that's like the one
- 13:44Speaker 3: song that can be sung on this podcast without the
- 13:46Speaker 3: lawyers being like, no, we have to cut it all out.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Oh, that's true.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I should encourage more guests to sing the theme song.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Well, we could sing anything from exactly right. My favorite murder.
- 13:58Speaker 4: They will definitely sue us. They're very litigious. The podcast
- 14:02Speaker 4: is canceled. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Never mind. I think my
- 14:04Speaker 4: first is IMHO, the podcast. Go ahead, sing that. She
- 14:10Speaker 4: wrote it.
- 14:10Speaker 3: That's why she sang it. Okay, let's hear it live.
- 14:15Speaker 4: You wrote it.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I know.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I did that so long ago. I can't remember. And
- 14:19Speaker 4: I don't listen to them. You're going through a breakup,
- 14:21Speaker 4: and you've got a lot on your mind. Okay, you
- 14:22Speaker 4: didn't have to bring that. I'm so sorry, Bridger. Would
- 14:24Speaker 4: you excuse us for one second? You can step out.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Can I see you back here? Please don't listen to this, Bridger.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I'll turn around.
- 14:30Speaker 4: I'm so sorry.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I'm embarrassed for you.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you. It's too fresh. I don't want to— and
- 14:35Speaker 4: Bridger didn't say it was a good thing. No, I know,
- 14:37Speaker 4: but it's like— You need to use this pain. No
- 14:40Speaker 4: one can argue with this pain. It's your first big
- 14:42Speaker 4: breakup so late in your life. So, so late. It
- 14:46Speaker 4: was pretty late. It was like 11 o'clock at night.
- 14:49Speaker 4: It was, yeah. But it was pretty painless. Like, he
- 14:52Speaker 4: was really nice. I don't even think he meant to
- 14:53Speaker 4: do it. He's always been really nice. No. He's so nice.
- 14:56Speaker 4: He just realized, like, the meal was coming to an end.
- 14:57Speaker 4: He was going to have to go home with you.
- 14:59Speaker 4: And it's something he realized he didn't want. Well, I'll
- 15:00Speaker 4: tell you what. We were eating our favorite meal together,
- 15:02Speaker 4: which was pineapple on pizza. And now I don't have
- 15:04Speaker 4: to defend it publicly anymore. So that's a silver lining. Yeah, absolutely.
- 15:08Speaker 4: That really is. That really is.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Do you do.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Pineapple on pizza? Have you ever seen a pineapple on
- 15:11Speaker 4: a pizza?
- 15:12Speaker 3: I've seen a pineapple on a pizza.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Crazy. It is pretty crazy. I do like it, but
- 15:16Speaker 4: I'm also like, no, pizza is bad.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I'll eat any of it. Oh, interesting. Now that's where
- 15:21Speaker 3: I would disagree.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Oh, okay. Yeah. While we're fighting.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah, we're fighting.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Don't put bok choy on pizza.
- 15:28Speaker 3: We are getting, I think we've like reached the end
- 15:30Speaker 3: of what you should put on pizzas. We're starting to
- 15:33Speaker 3: put things on there. We're like, this is now a dare.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, it's not— That's why the Republicans are winning.
- 15:38Speaker 4: That's exactly— We are too— we' re moving everything too far left.
- 15:41Speaker 4: We're too divided about pineapple, and we're fighting with each other.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Stop trying to progress fruits into pizzas. Let trans kids
- 15:48Speaker 4: be kids or whatever the fuck. I don't—I gotta admit,
- 15:51Speaker 4: I'm an ally, but I don't keep up with the slogans. Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Let kids— let trans kids be kids or whatever the fuck.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Allie. Yeah. Okay, I feel like we've covered— Speeding, which
- 16:04Speaker 3: was really important.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah, we really had to.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Do we have any other dangling conversations?
- 16:10Speaker 4: Of course we do.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I feel like we had a bunch of things that
- 16:12Speaker 3: we needed to wrap up.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Have you ever seen Speed? Yeah, have you ever seen
- 16:15Speaker 4: that movie?
- 16:16Speaker 3: I have, but I haven't seen it in such a
- 16:17Speaker 3: long time. All I remember is the end of the movie,
- 16:19Speaker 3: does somebody crawl into the sewer?
- 16:23Speaker 4: You know, near the end, yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Does he like lift a fire hydrant off the ground
- 16:26Speaker 3: and go down or is that?
- 16:28Speaker 4: Yeah, the drop off. Spoiler alert if you haven't seen Speed.
- 16:31Speaker 4: You've only had 40 years to see it. The drop
- 16:34Speaker 4: off of the money to Dennis Hopper takes place in
- 16:37Speaker 4: a trash can and then the money starts moving. Is
- 16:39Speaker 4: Dennis Hopper dead? And Keanu goes, and Keanu goes, huh?
- 16:43Speaker 4: And he's like, it's moving. And he runs down into the.
- 16:46Speaker 4: That was a really good Keanu. Thank you. And then
- 16:48Speaker 4: he runs down and he throws the trash can and
- 16:50Speaker 4: he sees there's a hole in the trash can. They
- 16:53Speaker 4: got bamboozled and hornswoggled. And so he went down in
- 16:57Speaker 4: the hole, and then he's running. And it's not sewers.
- 17:00Speaker 4: It's subway tunnels.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 17:01Speaker 4: But it's like the backroom subway tunnels. And then he
- 17:05Speaker 4: sees the guy, and he's like, don't move.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Freeze.
- 17:09Speaker 4: But it's Annie. It's Sandra Bullock.
- 17:10Speaker 3: She's down there.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Do Annie. Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I need to rewatch Speed.
- 17:18Speaker 4: It holds up. I got to tell you.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I believe that.
- 17:20Speaker 4: I love it. And now we live here where they
- 17:22Speaker 4: filmed it. Beth Grant. And Beth Grant. Has Beth Grant
- 17:25Speaker 4: ever been on Ice and Ice?
- 17:26Speaker 1: No.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Have you ever met Beth Grant?
- 17:28Speaker 1: No.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Does she have anything to do with Speed?
- 17:30Speaker 4: She's in it. She's in it. She's in it.
- 17:32Speaker 3: She's the bus driver?
- 17:33Speaker 4: She's the lady that dies. Yeah, she does die. Sandra's
- 17:35Speaker 4: the bus driver. They do. Sandra has to take over
- 17:39Speaker 4: because the bus driver got shot. Sam. Sam gets shot.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Shot while at work.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Sam. Driving a bus. Yeah. That is one of the
- 17:47Speaker 4: worst places to get shot. I got on a bus
- 17:50Speaker 4: recently and it had a pee smell. Second place is
- 17:51Speaker 4: your head. And I thought, what if the speed bus
- 17:53Speaker 4: had a pee smell? That would have been terrible. Well,
- 17:55Speaker 4: it would have been a hilarious addition to the story.
- 17:58Speaker 4: We're talking layers. Yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 3: How fast is the bus ultimately going in there? Okay,
- 18:03Speaker 3: so it.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Has to go. When it goes above 50, that's when
- 18:07Speaker 4: the bomb hits. set like gets activated so it can't
- 18:11Speaker 4: go back below 50 and when you're watching it at
- 18:14Speaker 4: home in from in texas you're thinking well 50 whatever
- 18:17Speaker 4: and when you've been speeding at 100 you're like well
- 18:20Speaker 4: it's not that bad but then you get to la
- 18:22Speaker 4: and you realize the traffic you can't get up to
- 18:24Speaker 4: 50 sometimes oh my god did you know about the
- 18:27Speaker 4: traffic you don't know who you're talking it's crazy wait
- 18:29Speaker 4: where do you live 50 everywhere what's your street address
- 18:35Speaker 4: Where do you keep your spare key? I'll give you
- 18:37Speaker 4: my phone. You look like a guy who likes a plant.
- 18:38Speaker 3: I don't have a spare key. This is something that
- 18:40Speaker 3: I need to— I don't either.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Do you ever lose your keys? It's because you believe
- 18:44Speaker 4: in yourself.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Yeah, because I just know nothing will ever go wrong.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Oh, you have loving parents. Okay, let me ask you—
- 18:50Speaker 4: Are your parents supportive?
- 18:51Speaker 3: My parents are supportive.
- 18:52Speaker 4: That sucks, Richard. That's nice. That sucks. That's why you
- 18:54Speaker 4: don't have a spare key. Do you do— okay, do you
- 18:57Speaker 4: do keys, wallet, phone? Or do you have— sometimes you can
- 19:00Speaker 4: do a wallet on your phone case?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Full bag.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Full bag.
- 19:03Speaker 4: You're doing a bag.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Full bag, which is kind of a nightmare, to be honest,
- 19:06Speaker 3: because it's just digging every place I'm at.
- 19:09Speaker 4: But you're constantly digging. You love a conflict.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I like to keep myself busy.
- 19:13Speaker 4: It's affirming for me because I used to be, I
- 19:16Speaker 4: like to say I was deep undercover as a dude.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:18Speaker 4: And now I'm trans. He was so sad. That dude
- 19:20Speaker 4: was so sad. And now, but now I'm constantly digging
- 19:24Speaker 4: in my purse and I'm like, oh, where is it?
- 19:26Speaker 4: And then I'm like. Affirming.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Totally.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 3: It does feel, it almost feels like, oh, I'm mom
- 19:32Speaker 3: or something. Yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Oh, I'm trying to run errands. I love being a
- 19:37Speaker 4: mom in a Ross. I want to go to a
- 19:39Speaker 4: Ross Dress for Less. What did we say I was today?
- 19:41Speaker 4: I'm a coastal grandma. Oh, she's a coastal grandma right now. Oh,
- 19:45Speaker 4: I love coastal.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Some wicker?
- 19:46Speaker 4: A wicker lamp? I saw three of them today.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Cool. That seems dangerous to me.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Going back, circling back to penis. I don't think it
- 19:54Speaker 4: was like lamps. Connecting it to wickers. I think it
- 19:56Speaker 4: was just like... Did you see the trailer to the
- 19:57Speaker 4: new movie Wicker starring Olivia Colman? Right? If you use
- 20:00Speaker 4: that as your... As your light bulb. Did you see Wicker?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Wicker?
- 20:04Speaker 4: No. There's a new movie.
- 20:05Speaker 3: This has nothing to do with Wicker Man?
- 20:06Speaker 4: No, but there is a man and he's made of wicker.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Nicholas Cage?
- 20:11Speaker 3: He's Coastal Grandma?
- 20:12Speaker 4: No.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Coastal Grandma Horror.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Who is it?
- 20:14Speaker 4: It's Alexander Skarsgård. Made of wicker. How many Skarsgårds are there?
- 20:18Speaker 4: There's at least 14. There's one a new year.
- 20:20Speaker 3: It's like a clown car. Yeah, it's Gremlins-esque.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Are they born fully formed? I think so. I don't know,
- 20:26Speaker 4: but you have to go home and watch this trailer.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Is it a horror movie? No, it is. I don't
- 20:30Speaker 4: know what it is, but it's Olivia Colman and it's
- 20:33Speaker 4: like medieval times. And everyone's like, you're old and you're dirty.
- 20:37Speaker 4: And she's like, so she goes to Peter Dinklage and
- 20:40Speaker 4: she says, I need a husband. And he's like, be
- 20:43Speaker 4: at the chapel in a week. And he makes a
- 20:45Speaker 4: man out of wicker and it's Alexander Skarsgård. And in
- 20:47Speaker 4: the UK trailer, you can see his penis. It's made
- 20:50Speaker 4: of wicker.
- 20:50Speaker 3: And that's made of wicker?
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah. I have a screenshot if you want.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I'm having a tough time imagining how this works.
- 20:57Speaker 4: A wicker penis? I think it's going to be her
- 20:58Speaker 4: next Oscar. I think it's going to be her next Oscar.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Do we have any updates on Dennis Hopper? Is he dead?
- 21:06Speaker 4: He died May 29th, 2010.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Oh, so recently.
- 21:10Speaker 4: He's been dead for a while.
- 21:12Speaker 2: 2010?
- 21:13Speaker 4: Wow. He wouldn't even believe what's going on in the
- 21:16Speaker 4: world right now. He'd be so mad about what he's missed.
- 21:18Speaker 4: He got out before it happened, yeah. Do you ever, like,
- 21:20Speaker 4: when you hear that somebody's loved one died— in 2019 or, like,
- 21:24Speaker 4: the beginning of 2020. Do you ever think, like, lucky?
- 21:28Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 21:28Speaker 4: My first reaction is always, like, I'm so sorry for
- 21:30Speaker 4: your loss, but also, like, how great for them.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Oh, they didn't even have to think about it.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Farrah Fawcett.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Farrah Fawcett was 2009. Well before whatever's going on now.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Start naming people who died in, like, 1897.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Lucky. Lucky little bitch being born in the 1700s, dying
- 21:50Speaker 4: of dysentery at 12. Can I ask you a question
- 21:53Speaker 4: on your podcast?
- 21:54Speaker 2: Of course.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Are you a Murder, She Wrote fan?
- 21:57Speaker 3: I'm not. You know, I appreciate Angela. I appreciate the
- 22:00Speaker 3: tone of the show and everything. But this was just
- 22:02Speaker 3: given to me by Maria Thayer. She made this.
- 22:05Speaker 4: It's beautiful.
- 22:06Speaker 3: It's gorgeous, right?
- 22:07Speaker 4: I am a Angela Lansbury super fan.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Oh, she's the best.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Her death was one of the worst things that's ever
- 22:12Speaker 4: happened to me.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I've seen her live on stage.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Murder Seed wrote and it's made out of seeds. And
- 22:16Speaker 4: you know what? Bridger, shut the fuck up. You don't
- 22:20Speaker 4: watch Murder Seed wrote? You saw who? I need to.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I need to.
- 22:22Speaker 4: What'd you see her in, man?
- 22:24Speaker 3: Blithe Spirit in 2009.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Yes, you did. Didn't she win a Tony for that?
- 22:28Speaker 3: I think she may have.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Blithe Spirit is a beautiful drag name.
- 22:32Speaker 3: It is, actually. It is, actually.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Thank you. Can we get some eyes on Blithe Spirit?
- 22:37Speaker 4: Is that possible? When's the last time you cried?
- 22:40Speaker 3: Great question. I actually.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Pretty recently.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Oh, are you going through a breakup?
- 22:46Speaker 3: It was actually for a good reason.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Oh, good. We'll cut this out. Are you going through
- 22:50Speaker 4: a breakup?
- 22:50Speaker 3: I had gotten a job and it just felt unexpected.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Oh, that's exciting. Hollywood. That's Hollywood, Bridger. Do you need
- 23:01Speaker 4: anybody to help? Do you need anybody to help? Do
- 23:03Speaker 4: you need anybody to help you? Do you need anyone
- 23:05Speaker 4: for that?
- 23:07Speaker 3: When was the last time you cried?
- 23:09Speaker 4: Oh, well, I— This is a tough topic. I just
- 23:12Speaker 4: went through a breakup. Oh, so you really did.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? I've had some time
- 23:18Speaker 4: to think about it. It was a beautiful little relationship.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:21Speaker 4: And it ended at the right moment. That's nice. I agree.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I wasn't allowed to say that when it first happened.
- 23:26Speaker 4: And he's really sweet. Oh, okay.
- 23:27Speaker 3: We still love him.
- 23:28Speaker 4: We love him.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I'm not on his side, but you can.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Thank you. Oh, he's so adorable. You'd love him. Yeah.
- 23:33Speaker 4: He's single. I don't know if you're interested. I cried—
- 23:38Speaker 4: When Angela Lansbury died.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:40Speaker 4: That was the last time. Yeah. And I'm not going
- 23:43Speaker 4: to cry again until Liza goes.
- 23:45Speaker 3: You're saving it.
- 23:46Speaker 4: I've got two cries. You're going way before Liza, let's
- 23:50Speaker 4: be honest. She's going to live forever. It's crazy.
- 23:53Speaker 3: She's got another 30 to 40 years in her.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Sorry, it's one of my favorite things in the world
- 23:59Speaker 4: that she's ever done. It's so good.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I think we do need to talk about something else.
- 24:05Speaker 3: You two have kind of been trying to push it
- 24:06Speaker 3: off this entire time.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I'm really sorry.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 24:09Speaker 3: It was already embarrassing off mic. You kind of walked
- 24:11Speaker 3: into the studio holding a gift. And I think you
- 24:16Speaker 3: saw that I was visibly upset.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 3: You've tried delaying it. You've brought this to the podcast.
- 24:22Speaker 4: It's time. Yeah. Should we open it here? I think
- 24:25Speaker 4: you have to.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 24:29Speaker 4: There's some dust on the top. Let us just take
- 24:31Speaker 4: care of that real quick. It fell on the ground.
- 24:33Speaker 4: It fell on the dust. On the ground. The part
- 24:37Speaker 4: where it fell was dusty.
- 24:38Speaker 3: The dust is born. This is a gorgeous kind of
- 24:42Speaker 3: orange velvet box.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Darby did that.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I like it.
- 24:46Speaker 4: It's beautiful, isn't it? Where did this come from?
- 24:47Speaker 3: Where did you get a box like this?
- 24:49Speaker 4: It's from a boutique called Imazon run by my good
- 24:55Speaker 4: friend Judd Betos.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Oh, tissue. I was just talking about how we're having
- 25:03Speaker 3: a tissue renaissance on the podcast. Everybody's bringing tissue. Oh.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Say what you said today. I've been saving my tissue.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Every time I get a gift, I've been putting it
- 25:11Speaker 4: aside because sometimes you do need it. You do.
- 25:14Speaker 3: And you're like, you never buy tissue.
- 25:17Speaker 4: It was funny because she said it like she had
- 25:19Speaker 4: come up with the idea, though. That was hilarious. Well,
- 25:21Speaker 4: it was new for me. Martha Stewart. Thank you. Dicks
- 25:24Speaker 4: and Tricks. Dicks and Tricks magazine, living. It was huge.
- 25:27Speaker 4: It was huge. It was huge. The bookmark deck? Yeah.
- 25:31Speaker 3: In a full magazine.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Listen, Martha Stewart could barely contain it. And that magazine's
- 25:37Speaker 4: too big.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Okay, we're just... You know, I'm really enjoying my time
- 25:44Speaker 3: with the tissue. Do you want to put it on
- 25:46Speaker 3: your mic?
- 25:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be great. We have three pieces here.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Let's give the listener a whole stereo.
- 25:53Speaker 4: But if you're, let's be gentle because I'd love to
- 25:55Speaker 4: keep it.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Oh, that's true.
- 25:56Speaker 4: It is quite beautiful.
- 25:58Speaker 3: We just found out. It's kind of a gorgeous Halloween.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Isn't it though? Tis the season. Isn't it though? Are
- 26:03Speaker 4: you rock hard right now?
- 26:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 26:08Speaker 4: At first I thought this was a hat. No.
- 26:10Speaker 3: This is incredible. Is this actual merch?
- 26:17Speaker 4: Not yet, but that's a good idea.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Because it's branded after your pod. How did you even
- 26:23Speaker 3: attach this?
- 26:24Speaker 4: Thank you. I'm shocked.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I don't even know how to describe this because it's
- 26:28Speaker 3: like a tag from the store. How did you tag this?
- 26:31Speaker 4: Do you have a tagging gun? You know, yeah. She
- 26:34Speaker 4: has a tagging gun on TikTok.
- 26:36Speaker 3: You can get one on there.
- 26:37Speaker 4: You can get one on... Well, there's a small boutique
- 26:40Speaker 4: called Imazon. Which we don't support, obviously. No, no. But
- 26:44Speaker 4: my good friend Josh Betos works. He owns it.
- 26:48Speaker 3: And he lives so nearby that he can kind of
- 26:49Speaker 3: get you things over.
- 26:50Speaker 4: He just popped over. He has to pee in a bottle, though,
- 26:54Speaker 4: because he's always on the go.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Lorna, she died of sepsis. So, listener, it's a gorgeous doll.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Handmade. Alexis made this from scratch. Well, so I made
- 27:05Speaker 4: that doll. And then we realized we were going to
- 27:08Speaker 4: be coming to see you. And so I finished it.
- 27:13Speaker 3: It's kind of Marie Antoinette, kind of French Revolution.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I also helped. She helped. If you
- 27:19Speaker 4: lift up the skirt, Darby. If you lift up the skirt,
- 27:21Speaker 4: I added pubes. Yeah.
- 27:24Speaker 3: That match the kind of pink cotton candy hair.
- 27:26Speaker 4: The curtain matches. Exactly. And to match her pussy. Exactly.
- 27:30Speaker 4: I can say that.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I'm an ally.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Okay. To pubes. To pubes.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 27:37Speaker 4: She's named after my great aunt Lorna. She died of sepsis.
- 27:40Speaker 3: She really did die.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Sepsis was the name of her horse. Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 3: She got trampled by sepsis.
- 27:45Speaker 4: She got trampled, yeah. She got trampled by sepsis. And
- 27:48Speaker 4: she only has one thumb because she, everyone, she was
- 27:51Speaker 4: really clumsy and everyone was like, you're all thumbs. And
- 27:54Speaker 4: so she was like, not all, not anymore. Not anymore.
- 27:57Speaker 4: She took a knife to it. And also Lorna's just
- 27:59Speaker 4: such a tragic female name.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I love the name Lorna.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Lorna Love.
- 28:02Speaker 3: We had a Lorna in my neighborhood.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Lorna Dune. No, you didn't.
- 28:06Speaker 3: She had a temper.
- 28:07Speaker 4: You had a Lorna?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Lorna was throwing knives at the family. Lorna had some
- 28:12Speaker 3: anger issues.
- 28:13Speaker 4: That's not her fault. Her name was Lorna. That's on them.
- 28:17Speaker 4: You're asking for it with a Lorna. You don't want
- 28:19Speaker 4: a kid throwing knives at you. Don't name them Lorna.
- 28:21Speaker 4: There's no joy in Lorna. No. Lorna. No. Do you
- 28:26Speaker 4: know what Judy Garland did for her sad, sad Lorna?
- 28:30Speaker 1: What?
- 28:31Speaker 4: This is a really sweet story, but I love bullying
- 28:33Speaker 4: Lorna Left because she wasted $ 200 of my American dollars
- 28:38Speaker 4: on a cameo. I don't want to get into it.
- 28:40Speaker 4: But Joey and Liza had songs. There were songs. Like,
- 28:46Speaker 4: Liza was actually named after the song Liza, I think.
- 28:49Speaker 4: And then Lorna didn't have a song.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Oh.
- 28:51Speaker 4: And so when Judy Garland had her TV show, Lorna
- 28:54Speaker 4: was like, Mama. By the way, the Judy Garland show
- 28:59Speaker 4: Christmas special is incredible. Lorna Luft is saying everyone's lines
- 29:03Speaker 4: for them if you watch her. And every time she
- 29:06Speaker 4: fucks up, she goes. Oh. Yeah, I know. You don't
- 29:11Speaker 4: see that.
- 29:11Speaker 3: On TV anymore.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Not anymore.
- 29:13Speaker 3: That's what's wrong with TV, seeing people kind of abuse themselves.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Well, hopefully AI will bring that back. But so what
- 29:19Speaker 4: they did was they just added words to the theme song. Oh,
- 29:23Speaker 4: Judy Garland show. Not called it. And there was no yeah,
- 29:29Speaker 4: there was no words. it was just the end of
- 29:33Speaker 4: it they go and Lorna too.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Audience applause is just burying that nobody even hears it
- 29:39Speaker 3: yeah poor Lorna Lorna feels like a song that there's
- 29:42Speaker 3: like an old there would be like an old Irish
- 29:43Speaker 3: standard about or something.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Oh well there should be they didn't have the internet
- 29:48Speaker 4: back then so like getting in touch with Ireland was
- 29:50Speaker 4: so tough so time consuming didn't even know about it
- 29:53Speaker 4: I bet there's no way Judy Garland knew about Ireland
- 29:56Speaker 4: there's just.
- 29:56Speaker 3: No way no how could she have found out no.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Although she did star in a movie where, like, the
- 30:01Speaker 4: central theme of the movie was that she was Irish.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Well, but maybe... Fiction. Yeah, she's like, what a great fictional...
- 30:09Speaker 3: It's kind of like Princess Diaries, where there's a.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Oh, Genovia.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Genovia.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Yeah. Princess... Genovia. The way you said that, Princess Diaries. Oh, interesting.
- 30:18Speaker 3: How would you say it?
- 30:18Speaker 1: This is.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Princess Diaries.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Princess Diaries.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Princess Diaries. Prince... Prince... Well, now they don't even sound
- 30:24Speaker 4: like words.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Princess Diaries.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Princess.
- 30:27Speaker 3: When I say Princess Diaries, I feel like I'm bursting
- 30:30Speaker 3: through a door. Princess Diaries.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Which is how that movie felt. It was a wake
- 30:34Speaker 4: up we needed.
- 30:35Speaker 3: It was a jolt to a generation.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Absolutely. Oh, wait. You should write a book. Yeah. Have
- 30:43Speaker 4: you ever written a book? Have you ever read a book?
- 30:46Speaker 4: I haven't.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I've been meaning to.
- 30:49Speaker 4: You've ever written a book? Yes. You wrote a book? No.
- 30:53Speaker 3: No. Would you ever write a book?
- 30:55Speaker 4: I'm actually in the process of outlining my first novel.
- 30:58Speaker 3: It's one of those things where I just think, how
- 30:59Speaker 3: does that not take your entire life?
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah. That's why it's taking a long time because I
- 31:03Speaker 4: only do it like once a week for a couple minutes.
- 31:08Speaker 3: You fire up Google Docs.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Listen, Lorna left to write a book. Anyone can do it. So, yeah.
- 31:13Speaker 3: That's true. Truly anyone can do it. You just have
- 31:16Speaker 3: to do it.
- 31:17Speaker 4: But I'm really sorry that we brought you a gift.
- 31:19Speaker 4: I love it. So do you make a lot of dolls? No, actually,
- 31:22Speaker 4: that's the first one I ever made.
- 31:24Speaker 3: That can't be true.
- 31:25Speaker 4: But she only had one arm for like two years.
- 31:28Speaker 4: And then when we were coming here, I was like,
- 31:33Speaker 4: I should finish her. Finish her! And if you look
- 31:37Speaker 4: right on the back on the butt, there's a little
- 31:40Speaker 4: red spot. No, no, no, on the dress. And it's
- 31:43Speaker 4: my blood. That's your blood. That's her blood. Yeah, I
- 31:45Speaker 4: pricked myself. Oh, my God. Don't touch it. We don't
- 31:47Speaker 4: know what's in it. No, I'm good.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Look.
- 31:50Speaker 4: There we go. It's fine.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Darby.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Well, I'm sorry. Bridger, please don't listen to this. She
- 31:56Speaker 4: thought I was going to say something offensive. Alexis, can
- 31:59Speaker 4: I say I genuinely thought you were going to say
- 32:01Speaker 4: something offensive. I know. I know. Okay, great. We're back.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Yeah. She's beautiful, Alexis. She's beautiful. I got to say
- 32:07Speaker 4: you did a wonderful job. How did you learn to
- 32:09Speaker 4: make her? Okay.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 32:11Speaker 4: I made the body out of a pattern on Etsy.
- 32:14Speaker 4: I really like to sew. They're wearing the same dress.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I need you to sew me some things. They're wearing
- 32:18Speaker 4: the same dress.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Oh, my God. You truly are.
- 32:20Speaker 4: I wanted to show off.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Hold this for a minute just for the camera.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Show off the mommy-daughter look.
- 32:27Speaker 4: That's gorgeous.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Is this allowed on YouTube?
- 32:34Speaker 4: As long as it's not in the first five minutes,
- 32:36Speaker 4: you can do anything. Is that true? Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Is that true? You have to bleep out curse words
- 32:43Speaker 4: in the first 60 seconds or five minutes. I don't remember.
- 32:46Speaker 4: But then you can say fuck as much as you want.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Can we curse on this show?
- 32:51Speaker 3: No, we're going to have to go back. We'll do
- 32:53Speaker 3: some pickups.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Can we not curse?
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yes. You cannot curse for sure.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Hell yeah. Okay.
- 32:59Speaker 3: So you just got a pattern on Etsy.
- 33:01Speaker 4: I got a pattern on Etsy and I wanted to
- 33:02Speaker 4: learn how to sew a doll. Did you say slur? No,
- 33:06Speaker 4: I got a pattern on Etsy and I wanted to.
- 33:07Speaker 4: You said you were slurring. I don't... I can't remember
- 33:10Speaker 4: what I just said.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I can't either. Great.
- 33:13Speaker 4: And then I've been really into historical sewing methods lately.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:16Speaker 4: And like hand sewing. I don't know. I want to
- 33:19Speaker 4: feel connected to the women of my past. Yeah. That's it. Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 3: And.
- 33:24Speaker 4: How did the women in your past die? Was anything funny?
- 33:28Speaker 4: Can I tell you about one of my ancestors? My
- 33:31Speaker 4: aunt died of a horse trampliner.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Bless her. Yeah. My... My ancestor— okay, I come from Tennessee,
- 33:39Speaker 4: and my mom comes from, like, hill folk. And we
- 33:42Speaker 4: grew up in Memphis, but family reunions, I'd go out,
- 33:46Speaker 4: I'd see a hundred cousins in Somerville, and we would
- 33:48Speaker 4: play in the cemetery. It was before internet.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Oh, when you could just play in the cemetery.
- 33:53Speaker 4: When you could just play in the cemetery, and you
- 33:55Speaker 4: didn't have any worries, except that you'd be in there
- 33:57Speaker 4: one day. Well, no, no, no. My family, they're not
- 34:01Speaker 4: smart enough to.
- 34:02Speaker 3: To haunt.
- 34:04Speaker 4: God just turns them off. Too dumb to be ghosts.
- 34:05Speaker 4: They didn't go to heaven. He just turns them off.
- 34:07Speaker 4: It's crazy. Anyway, well, unfortunate to say, but my ancestors
- 34:13Speaker 4: did in fact fight for the South in the Civil War.
- 34:16Speaker 4: One of them died by drinking himself to death under
- 34:22Speaker 4: a tree because he could tell they were losing the battle.
- 34:26Speaker 4: And all of his friends were dying. So he sat
- 34:29Speaker 4: down and he drank moonshine until he died. Oh, no.
- 34:32Speaker 4: But you had me until moonshine. Until he died.
- 34:35Speaker 3: What did you want him drinking?
- 34:37Speaker 4: I mean, if it was me, it would be like whiskey.
- 34:38Speaker 4: A martini. Oh. It'd be whiskey diets. I love a
- 34:43Speaker 4: whiskey ginger. Oh, delicious. Do you drink? Have you ever
- 34:47Speaker 4: had a drink?
- 34:48Speaker 3: A whiskey ginger I like. A ginger ale, let's be honest.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Do you have a drinking problem?
- 34:52Speaker 3: Is that why you don't drink?
- 34:54Speaker 1: No.
- 34:54Speaker 3: My drinking problem is being raised Mormon.
- 34:58Speaker 4: How did I forget that about you? I've seen your legs.
- 35:02Speaker 4: That's what it was. I've seen your legs. I've never
- 35:04Speaker 4: seen a Mormon's legs before.
- 35:06Speaker 3: It threw off your entire idea. It threw me off.
- 35:09Speaker 4: No, really great job on your legs. Oh, thank you.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I really appreciate it.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Can I curse? Can I curse something?
- 35:14Speaker 3: You can now.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Really great legs. I curse your legs to be terrible. Sorry.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Sorry. Wrong curse. Sorry. Alexis, that's why we keep you around.
- 35:23Speaker 4: And also, it's the DEI.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Ally.
- 35:28Speaker 4: D-E. Ally. Is that a thing?
- 35:32Speaker 3: It should be.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Not at Target. Not at Target, it's not.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Were either of you doll gals growing up?
- 35:41Speaker 4: Oh, well, I think we both wanted to be, but
- 35:43Speaker 4: we weren't allowed. Sure. I'm from Texas and she's from Tennessee.
- 35:47Speaker 4: You did a lot of really good ideas. What do
- 35:50Speaker 4: you mean?
- 35:51Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 35:51Speaker 4: You got yourself dolls.
- 35:52Speaker 3: I had a little sister, so I would just bring— Oh,
- 35:54Speaker 3: easy to.
- 35:54Speaker 4: I had to bring— well, not easy, because Mom would come
- 35:57Speaker 4: in and check that I wasn't wearing her clothes, because
- 35:58Speaker 4: she caught me a couple times.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 4: But I'd have to bring in boy action figures. That's
- 36:02Speaker 4: the only way I was allowed to play with her.
- 36:04Speaker 4: I would do that, too. I would be like— because my
- 36:07Speaker 4: sisters are older, and they did have Barbies, but they
- 36:09Speaker 4: were too old to play with them. Were you an accident?
- 36:13Speaker 4: A blessing. A miracle. That's how you say— Yes.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that's never occurred to me.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Do you know what?
- 36:21Speaker 3: That's kind of true.
- 36:22Speaker 4: I think that my sisters are five and seven years
- 36:24Speaker 4: older than me, and I think I was on purpose,
- 36:27Speaker 4: but I think they wanted a boy.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Oh, last ditch effort.
- 36:31Speaker 4: They got one for a second. They got one for
- 36:35Speaker 4: a good 37 years. Yeah, that's true. That's incredible. You
- 36:39Speaker 4: make a plan. They teach this in Mormonism, right? You
- 36:41Speaker 4: make a plan and God loves.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yes.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Anyway, I did. There was one Barbie in particular that
- 36:47Speaker 4: I liked. Her name was Hollywood Nails Barbie.
- 36:49Speaker 3: I love Hollywood Nails Barbie.
- 36:51Speaker 4: And she could move all her joints. I didn't care
- 36:54Speaker 4: about any Barbies that had stiff arms. I needed them
- 36:56Speaker 4: to be fully operational.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Emotive.
- 36:59Speaker 4: For all the... adventures we were going to go on.
- 37:02Speaker 4: But I would go, I would save up. I would
- 37:04Speaker 4: walk under a bridge, under the highway, to get to
- 37:07Speaker 4: the Walgreens where they sold her. And then she came
- 37:11Speaker 4: with space buns in the front, and I didn't know about...
- 37:13Speaker 4: Which is insane. Yeah, so I would rip the space
- 37:16Speaker 4: buns out.
- 37:16Speaker 3: What are space buns?
- 37:17Speaker 4: Just little buns in the front.
- 37:19Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 37:19Speaker 4: That's what we assume aliens wear. Oh, right. But when
- 37:23Speaker 4: you took them out, they wouldn't lie flat, and I
- 37:25Speaker 4: didn't like that. So I would rip them out. And then...
- 37:29Speaker 4: If I felt like she needed to get a haircut,
- 37:31Speaker 4: I would trim it. But I wasn't good at trimming
- 37:33Speaker 4: hair back then. So it would be uneven. Back then.
- 37:37Speaker 4: And then I would cut, cut, cut until she had
- 37:39Speaker 4: a bob. But it didn't look the same. And there's
- 37:41Speaker 4: no point in a Barbie without long hair.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:44Speaker 4: So then I would have to go. I would have
- 37:45Speaker 4: to shove her. I would throw her in the attic.
- 37:47Speaker 3: So you were buying multiple Hollywood nails.
- 37:48Speaker 4: I got about three or four. And I left them
- 37:51Speaker 4: all in the attic. So when we moved.
- 37:53Speaker 3: It's a nice little treat for the next home.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I don't know. It's a bunch of
- 37:57Speaker 4: Barbies with bobs. I'm not sure. I'm not sure if
- 38:00Speaker 4: that's like a great thing.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Yeah. But the fact that you were able to, that
- 38:05Speaker 4: you had the forethought that I can just save money
- 38:08Speaker 4: and get them myself.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:09Speaker 4: That's crazy. I did hide a naked picture of a
- 38:11Speaker 4: lady in my toy box once. Oh. Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Were you found out?
- 38:16Speaker 1: No.
- 38:17Speaker 4: If I was, they were thrilled because it was a miracle. Yes,
- 38:20Speaker 4: let's push. Yeah, they were like, great, more. Yeah, my
- 38:24Speaker 4: brother and I used to– because we grew up Southern Baptist.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 38:28Speaker 4: He's straight, though. Okay, I'm sorry. It's okay. I've dealt
- 38:31Speaker 4: with it. But because we grew up Southern Baptist, we
- 38:34Speaker 4: didn't know anything about our bodies because you're not.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Allowed to know. Why would you want to know?
- 38:38Speaker 4: Well, it's just God. God knows. That's it.
- 38:40Speaker 3: You don't need to know.
- 38:41Speaker 4: So my brother and I would do something my mom
- 38:42Speaker 4: called hurting ourselves. And we would– I got sent home
- 38:49Speaker 4: from kindergarten for doing this. We would just lay across hard,
- 38:52Speaker 4: like this surface. I'm thinking, damn, that would feel so
- 38:56Speaker 4: good right now. So you just lay on an edge
- 38:58Speaker 4: and you just hump it. And that's hurting yourself. That's
- 39:04Speaker 4: hurting yourself. And so there was, wait, what were we
- 39:07Speaker 4: talking about? Oh, the lady in the box. So my friend, Matthew.
- 39:14Speaker 4: You're naming names. I haven't talked to him since 1998.
- 39:18Speaker 4: So he's probably dead.
- 39:20Speaker 3: A lot of people died after the 90s. Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Well, the 90s was such a, it was party time.
- 39:27Speaker 4: So I hid it in my toy box. and I
- 39:30Speaker 4: would just like hump the toy box. And then when
- 39:33Speaker 4: I was done humping, I would just put her back
- 39:36Speaker 4: in with my childhood accoutrement.
- 39:38Speaker 3: What else was in there?
- 39:42Speaker 4: Not Barbies. Is this my, I'm going to take my camera.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Not Barbies. Not Barbies. Bibles, probably. We had a lot
- 39:50Speaker 4: of biblical action figures.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Oh.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Did you?
- 39:52Speaker 1: No.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Oh, I had a couple of biblical action figures.
- 39:54Speaker 1: What?
- 39:54Speaker 4: Did you have Amara and I?
- 39:56Speaker 3: We didn't have any, like, it was, like, a good
- 40:00Speaker 3: thing we didn't have any of those. We had, like,
- 40:01Speaker 3: the worst neighbors who had all, like, the Bible animated things.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Movies and stuff.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Us too.
- 40:05Speaker 3: What horrible home is this?
- 40:07Speaker 4: Mine.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 4: But look, I turned out normal.
- 40:11Speaker 3: It worked for you.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Yeah. What was your favorite toy when you were little?
- 40:14Speaker 4: Are your parents still Mormon?
- 40:16Speaker 3: Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Same. Same. Yes. Did you have the Ghostbusters like firehouse? Oh,
- 40:23Speaker 4: I actually did.
- 40:24Speaker 3: I had the firehouse.
- 40:25Speaker 4: Who's your favorite turtle? I know who your favorite was
- 40:29Speaker 4: from that show was Splinter, wasn't it?
- 40:31Speaker 3: Actually, I had a rat named Splinter.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:33Speaker 3: I had a rat named Splinter.
- 40:35Speaker 4: I knew it.
- 40:35Speaker 3: It escaped.
- 40:35Speaker 4: She had a hairless rat. I had a hairless rat
- 40:37Speaker 4: named Princess Penelope. Oh, my God. But I got rid
- 40:39Speaker 4: of her because I got a dog and I wanted
- 40:41Speaker 4: that more.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I would want that more as well.
- 40:43Speaker 4: I think they fed her to a snake. Snakes were
- 40:45Speaker 4: my dreams last night. What do you think that means?
- 40:47Speaker 3: Well, I've been watching Monsters of God. Have you heard
- 40:49Speaker 3: about this?
- 40:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 40:50Speaker 3: The documentary about all the reptile trade?
- 40:52Speaker 4: Yes. I can't. I don't like snakes. She doesn't do documentaries.
- 40:55Speaker 3: You're not going to like this.
- 40:56Speaker 4: She's not going to do documentaries.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 40:58Speaker 4: I'm saving dogs for marriage.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Oh, smart.
- 41:00Speaker 4: That's very smart. That fantasy is gone now. But... Or
- 41:04Speaker 4: is it even more alive now? I got my chart
- 41:07Speaker 4: read a couple years ago, and the star said that
- 41:09Speaker 4: I would be lucky in career, which obviously I am.
- 41:13Speaker 3: She doesn't do anything.
- 41:15Speaker 4: But I'm also here with you.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 41:18Speaker 4: But I would be unlucky in love, and I'm scared
- 41:20Speaker 4: that the stars are going to be right in this
- 41:22Speaker 4: one occasion.
- 41:22Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no. Don't let the stars tell
- 41:25Speaker 3: you what to do.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Yeah. Curse you, stars! The stars are blind. I heard
- 41:30Speaker 4: that from a philosopher.
- 41:33Speaker 3: One of our greatest.
- 41:34Speaker 4: Is your audience going to be mad at us?
- 41:36Speaker 3: I hope not. I would be very embarrassed if they
- 41:38Speaker 3: were mad about this.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Okay.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Mad about you. That would be very.
- 41:43Speaker 4: But Helen Hunt. Where is she? She's in Girls Just
- 41:46Speaker 4: Want to Have Fun. You ever seen that movie? Okay,
- 41:48Speaker 4: so that is from the 80s. Where is she now?
- 41:50Speaker 3: Pre.
- 41:52Speaker 4: I think they're doing... Or did they already do that?
- 41:54Speaker 3: Is she dead?
- 41:54Speaker 4: Can we get eyes on Helen Hunt? Yeah. Is she dead?
- 41:56Speaker 3: They tried the reboot and it lasted about four minutes.
- 42:00Speaker 3: And it was like on Spectrum TV or something.
- 42:02Speaker 4: The reboots don't work.
- 42:04Speaker 3: You got to stop it with that.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Can I say that I have it on good authority
- 42:08Speaker 4: that she wrote a script for the Twisters reboot and
- 42:12Speaker 4: they were going to let her do it. But then.
- 42:15Speaker 4: They were like, it's too woke.
- 42:16Speaker 3: And they fired her.
- 42:18Speaker 4: So she was like, if you're not using my script,
- 42:20Speaker 4: I'm not going to be a.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Part of it. All of my tornadoes are cis men.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Yeah. No, they're obviously Jason, Hunter, Oliver. Oliver. Steven was
- 42:36Speaker 4: a bad one. What was that? Do you remember that
- 42:39Speaker 4: that tornado that killed your older sister?
- 42:43Speaker 3: I'm sure you've forgotten by now.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Bobby. Hurricane Bobby. Twister Bobby. Twister Bobby. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:49Speaker 3: But she really wrote Twisters 2 and they said no?
- 42:52Speaker 4: What's your source? I don't want to get the young
- 42:55Speaker 4: man in trouble. I know everyone you know.
- 42:56Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 42:57Speaker 4: It was when I was working in a makeup store
- 42:58Speaker 4: in North Hollywood. Oh, Nigels. You ever been to Nigels? Oh,
- 43:02Speaker 4: I wasn't going to name them. Oh, it's Nigels. And
- 43:05Speaker 4: so they would supply a lot of makeup and wigs
- 43:07Speaker 4: for like movies.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 43:08Speaker 4: And this one guy.
- 43:09Speaker 3: I've been to Nigels.
- 43:10Speaker 4: She helped Tina Knowles. Yeah, it's nice.
- 43:11Speaker 3: I've been to Nigels.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Tina Knowles. Oh, I did help Tina Knowles.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 43:14Speaker 4: She didn't know how to use a card reader. Because
- 43:16Speaker 4: she's Tina Knowles.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Why would she? Yeah.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Go ahead. I dream of Jeannie, Barbara Eden. Oh, she
- 43:22Speaker 4: came in. She was fabulous. And then not the next day.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Perky enough tits. Oh, good for her. She's 90-something perky.
- 43:28Speaker 3: She's a genie.
- 43:28Speaker 4: And I'm not kidding. The next day, one of the
- 43:32Speaker 4: original Charlie's Angels came in.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Wow.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Barbara Eden.
- 43:36Speaker 3: You may have been one of the last to see her.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Which Charlie? No one knows. Okay. But anyway, it was
- 43:43Speaker 4: a young PA that came in. And if you work
- 43:45Speaker 4: in the business, you get a discount. And so I
- 43:47Speaker 4: was like, oh, so what are you? And he was like, oh, yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 4: And he gave me his credentials. And I saw Twisters
- 43:53Speaker 4: on it. And I was like, I'm not supposed to ask.
- 43:56Speaker 4: But like, is this going to be good? And he
- 43:58Speaker 4: was like, yeah. And then he told me the tea
- 44:00Speaker 4: about Helen Hunt. And I was like, oh, man.
- 44:03Speaker 3: I want to see that Twisters.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Oh, because it was during the, when the writers went
- 44:07Speaker 4: on strike.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Yeah, they were like, started to work on it, and
- 44:11Speaker 4: then they had to stop. Right. What if the reason
- 44:13Speaker 4: they rejected hers, the reason it was so woke, was
- 44:16Speaker 4: that the twisters were a metaphor for the men of Hollywood.
- 44:21Speaker 4: They're the ones going around destroying, sucking up while being
- 44:26Speaker 4: sucked up.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 44:29Speaker 4: I wonder. I wonder if the big wigs just couldn't
- 44:31Speaker 4: handle it.
- 44:32Speaker 3: It probably hit too close to home.
- 44:34Speaker 4: You couldn't wear a big or a small wig in
- 44:35Speaker 4: a twister. It would fly right off. Yeah, absolutely. But
- 44:37Speaker 4: what a feeling.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it might.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Did you have twisters growing up? Did you have tornadoes?
- 44:41Speaker 3: We had one tornado in Salt Lake City in 2003.
- 44:43Speaker 3: And her name was Jen Shaw.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Gotcha, bitch! Gotcha, bitch! I'm sorry.
- 44:53Speaker 3: She's back.
- 44:54Speaker 4: She's back in the conversation. She's back. I'm so sorry. Jen,
- 44:57Speaker 4: I'm so sorry I said that. I'm so sorry. I
- 45:00Speaker 4: was speaking for someone else.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Do you know who's also back? It's Jenny Nguyen. Do
- 45:03Speaker 3: you know who that is from season two?
- 45:05Speaker 1: No.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Her?
- 45:06Speaker 3: I saw an Instagram of her today or yesterday, and
- 45:09Speaker 3: she had a booger in her nose.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Well, stars are just like us. That's my favorite part.
- 45:14Speaker 3: She needed to just take one minute in the mirror
- 45:16Speaker 3: before she made a big statement.
- 45:17Speaker 4: Would you excuse me? One second.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Yes.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Put your nose up. I can't see. Put your nose
- 45:27Speaker 4: up so I can see it. No, no, no. Get
- 45:28Speaker 4: a flashlight. Lean your head back. Further back. Further back.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Zoom.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:41Speaker 3: So.
- 45:41Speaker 4: I'm going to have to start over.
- 45:42Speaker 3: But we did have one tornado. Just one. And the
- 45:46Speaker 3: rumor was that it was right by the gay bar
- 45:49Speaker 3: in Salt Lake.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Oh.
- 45:50Speaker 4: God sent it on purpose. Get rid of the bar.
- 45:53Speaker 4: We're going to Salt Lake City with our tour, IMHO Live.
- 45:56Speaker 4: We've never been to Salt Lake. I'm so excited.
- 45:57Speaker 3: It's wonderful.
- 45:58Speaker 4: It's being announced soon.
- 45:59Speaker 3: It's a lovely city.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Oops, sorry. It's being announced soon, but we're
- 46:01Speaker 4: so excited.
- 46:01Speaker 3: This is a scoop. This is a Hollywood scoop podcast.
- 46:04Speaker 4: This is a Hollywood scoop podcast. That's it.
- 46:05Speaker 3: I'm always digging for scoops.
- 46:07Speaker 4: You're the number one gotcha journalist. Yeah, you have been
- 46:10Speaker 4: asking really fucked up questions. It's kind of alarming.
- 46:15Speaker 3: I've lost a lot of respect.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Have you lost anyone you love?
- 46:18Speaker 1: No.
- 46:20Speaker 4: That's good. It'll happen, though. We're never promised tomorrow.
- 46:24Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. Not for me.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Okay, well, good. Great. It'll happen. And when it does,
- 46:30Speaker 4: it's going to devastate you, but just know it's going
- 46:33Speaker 4: to happen. And it's probably going to happen. I lost
- 46:40Speaker 4: someone recently. Well, but he's still alive. He's actually probably
- 46:44Speaker 4: living his best life. He's in Glendale. Yeah. He's in Glendale.
- 46:48Speaker 4: He's probably on Brand Avenue. Oh, my God.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Shopping.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Dining. Ikea. Ikea. Wait, that's Burbank.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Ikea's Burbank.
- 47:02Speaker 4: It's close enough. No, those are very different cultures. Burbank
- 47:05Speaker 4: goes into Glendale. Doesn't Burbank touch... Can we get eyes
- 47:07Speaker 4: on Burbank touching Glendale? Okay, they touch. Can we? Helen
- 47:11Speaker 4: Hunt's still alive. Just want to get.
- 47:13Speaker 3: She's on the border of Burbank and Glendale.
- 47:15Speaker 4: And Glendale.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 47:16Speaker 3: She's lost.
- 47:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:18Speaker 3: I think we should play a game.
- 47:18Speaker 4: She wasn't on that show. Oh, a game?
- 47:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Yes. I'm ready. Yeah. Wait, what? I'm excited. No, what
- 47:24Speaker 4: were you going to say? You were going to be mean. No,
- 47:25Speaker 4: I wasn't. You had that look in your eye.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Just be mean for once.
- 47:29Speaker 4: Okay. Is that you? Is that supposed to be you?
- 47:31Speaker 3: It's just, it's not supposed to be, but it happens
- 47:35Speaker 3: to look like.
- 47:37Speaker 4: No, it doesn't. No, the chins are completely different. Very
- 47:41Speaker 4: different chins.
- 47:41Speaker 3: That's where the artist really dropped the ball.
- 47:43Speaker 4: You would do so well in the olden days. I mean,
- 47:48Speaker 4: partially just because you're a white man, but also like— Hey,
- 47:51Speaker 4: we don't know that. We don't know that. You're right.
- 47:54Speaker 4: I can't assume your background.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 47:57Speaker 4: You are half-clown. Where does ginger come from? Is it
- 48:02Speaker 4: like a family curse? Are both your parents ginger? No,
- 48:05Speaker 4: my dad was.
- 48:07Speaker 3: He turned brown over time.
- 48:10Speaker 4: I thought you were going to say he's gone. And
- 48:14Speaker 4: you just said you've never lost anyone.
- 48:16Speaker 3: That would be such a reveal to be like, I
- 48:19Speaker 3: haven't lost anyone I love.
- 48:21Speaker 4: I can't wait for my dad to die.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Okay, wait.
- 48:28Speaker 4: Let's play a game.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Let's play a game. I need a number between 1
- 48:31Speaker 3: and 10 from you.
- 48:32Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 48:34Speaker 3: This is why you're here today.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Six.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Okay, I have to do some light calculating to get
- 48:40Speaker 3: our game pieces.
- 48:41Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 48:41Speaker 3: So right now, promote, recommend, do whatever you want.
- 48:44Speaker 4: I'll be right back. I just watched a show called
- 48:48Speaker 4: The Women of Substance. And it's like a Brit box show.
- 48:53Speaker 4: I love a Korean drama. God, it was so good.
- 48:55Speaker 4: And it was this woman who was wronged by a
- 48:57Speaker 4: very rich family when she was working as a maid.
- 49:00Speaker 4: I mean, basically culture that, let's be honest. And so
- 49:02Speaker 4: she ended up working her way out of adversity. We've
- 49:05Speaker 4: had a lot of, we've had our finger on the
- 49:07Speaker 4: pulse there for a while. The number one, like, fabric designer,
- 49:10Speaker 4: fashion designer lady. I love, like, and it takes place
- 49:13Speaker 4: in two time periods. You don't even notice that you're
- 49:16Speaker 4: reading subtitles anymore. Promote your podcast, for God's sake.
- 49:19Speaker 3: I mean.
- 49:20Speaker 4: IMHO the podcast wherever you get your podcast we also
- 49:23Speaker 4: have a really fun Patreon we do IMHO the show
- 49:27Speaker 4: on Patreon we do and we also have a YouTube
- 49:31Speaker 4: series called IMHO the show which we'll we are getting
- 49:35Speaker 4: back to where we review Drag Race sometimes Yeah. Listen,
- 49:39Speaker 4: everyone gets tired. Okay. And all stars. We had to
- 49:44Speaker 4: have a summer break this year. Well, that was because
- 49:47Speaker 4: it was a mental health. It was a mental health. Oh,
- 49:49Speaker 4: are you a part of this? It's way too hot.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Are we supposed to be talking to you?
- 49:52Speaker 3: We can do whatever we want. We're on a podcast.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Okay. I like the way you think. Okay. Also, we're
- 49:59Speaker 4: going on tour this fall. Tour will be announced soon.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Go to imhotheshowlive.com. And I do trivia now the fourth
- 50:07Speaker 4: Sunday of the month at the Witch's Cottage in North Hollywood.
- 50:10Speaker 4: Have you been to the Witch's Cottage yet?
- 50:11Speaker 3: No, it was just delightful to me.
- 50:13Speaker 4: It is a brand new, like I think they opened
- 50:15Speaker 4: in the last couple of months. It was an old bank.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Oh.
- 50:18Speaker 4: It was an old bank and then it was the federal.
- 50:19Speaker 4: It was like an event space. Okay. And now it's
- 50:23Speaker 4: a Witch's Cottage, but It's a bar. It's a cafe.
- 50:26Speaker 4: It's a theater space. They have a Dungeons & Dragons room.
- 50:30Speaker 4: I know you love Dungeons & Dragons. You can't get enough.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I would prefer a bank.
- 50:34Speaker 4: There's many different venues within the venue. I do trivia.
- 50:40Speaker 4: It's witchy. It's witchy. It's decorated and it's like queer-owned, women-owned.
- 50:44Speaker 4: It's beautiful. Women can be queer?
- 50:47Speaker 3: Losing interest.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Oh.
- 50:52Speaker 3: First you tell me it's not a bank. Then you
- 50:54Speaker 3: tell me it's Wimino.
- 50:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 3: This is tough.
- 50:57Speaker 4: This is tough. This is tough on Bridger. Just lost
- 51:00Speaker 4: a customer.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 51:02Speaker 4: I'm going to go. I'm going to go. I'll go.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Give it a shot. I'm going this Sunday to see
- 51:06Speaker 4: you do your trips. I'm making the trivia questions. Oh,
- 51:08Speaker 4: how fun. It is kind of fun. It is kind
- 51:10Speaker 4: of fun because she's not good at it. So it's
- 51:13Speaker 4: fun to see what she comes up with.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. First, we're going to play a game called
- 51:17Speaker 3: Invite List. I'm going to start naming a list of celebrities.
- 51:21Speaker 3: You tell me if they're invited or not invited. You
- 51:23Speaker 3: can tell me why if you want. You don't have to.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Once you get to 10, that's the party.
- 51:27Speaker 4: That's the party. Are you keeping score?
- 51:30Speaker 3: Ellis, producer Ellis will keep score.
- 51:31Speaker 4: You keep score. They'll tell us when we get to nine.
- 51:33Speaker 4: We'll also just get eyes on Helen Hunt. Is she
- 51:35Speaker 4: in Glendale or Burbank? And what, do we get to
- 51:38Speaker 4: decide the food, do we get to decide the theme
- 51:40Speaker 4: of the party afterwards?
- 51:41Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely.
- 51:42Speaker 3: You're welcome to.
- 51:42Speaker 4: Or during, before?
- 51:43Speaker 3: It's kind of whenever you want, to be honest.
- 51:45Speaker 4: I think it should be after. I feel like after is.
- 51:47Speaker 3: A good time to do it.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Okay, we're going to start with the guest list and
- 51:49Speaker 4: then go to the theme.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:50Speaker 3: All right. Dean Kuntz.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Yes. Have you seen the picture he posted of himself?
- 51:58Speaker 4: for his birthday this year. He turned 104 and he
- 52:02Speaker 4: took a picture of himself and he's got his little
- 52:04Speaker 4: bowl cut. He looks like the oldest five-year-old you've ever seen.
- 52:09Speaker 4: And he made a joke about like, he's not good
- 52:12Speaker 4: at jokes. Have you read his books? You don't understand.
- 52:14Speaker 4: He made a joke about like, I'm going to Vegas
- 52:17Speaker 4: for my birthday and I'm going to spend time with SpongeBob.
- 52:19Speaker 4: What the fuck, Dean Kuntz? It's crazy. I was thinking
- 52:21Speaker 4: of Jeff Kuntz. Oh, interesting. And so I was saying
- 52:26Speaker 4: yes to Jeff Koontz, but I don't think we're saying no.
- 52:28Speaker 4: We're saying no to Dean Koontz. I don't like adults
- 52:30Speaker 4: who look like children. That's valid. You're valid. And if
- 52:33Speaker 4: your name is Dean, I don't know about you right now. Also, Dean,
- 52:37Speaker 4: let me talk to you right now. Hold on. There's
- 52:38Speaker 4: a lot of names we've got to get through. I
- 52:39Speaker 4: love your hair. I love your hair. But also, your books,
- 52:42Speaker 4: they start out so great, and then it's like you
- 52:44Speaker 4: get bored. But you're hooked. What's that? Oh, he's good
- 52:48Speaker 4: at a hook. He's good at a hook.
- 52:50Speaker 3: You know, you're in a Hudson News show. You read
- 52:53Speaker 3: the first page.
- 52:54Speaker 4: Yeah, but his books are really small.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 52:56Speaker 4: Well, that's for his stick. So we're up to zero guests.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Up to zero guests.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Tiffany Thiessen.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Yes. Yes. Oh, my God. Yeah.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Rachel Maddow.
- 53:08Speaker 4: I have to say yes.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:10Speaker 4: For my father-in-law. My father-in-law was a conservative who became
- 53:14Speaker 4: a super liberal because of his gay ass son. He
- 53:18Speaker 4: died in an Airbnb in North Hollywood a few years ago.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Cleaning up Diet Coke. He was cleaning up Diet Coke,
- 53:24Speaker 4: and he did clean it up. There was no mess.
- 53:26Speaker 4: It was just his body. But it did spill. But
- 53:28Speaker 4: it did spill. It did spill beforehand because we saw
- 53:30Speaker 4: the stain.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Was Maddow blasting on the TV in the background? Is
- 53:33Speaker 3: that the connection here?
- 53:35Speaker 1: Almost.
- 53:35Speaker 4: Almost? Well, wait. Yes, absolutely she was. He loved Rachel Maddow.
- 53:39Speaker 4: But on their flight out here for what we thought
- 53:42Speaker 4: was going to be a nice Christmas, but what ended
- 53:43Speaker 4: up being his funeral, was he sat next to John Voight.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 53:48Speaker 4: That's a tough— And he lost his book, and he
- 53:51Speaker 4: was reading a Rachel Maddow book, and John Boyd was
- 53:54Speaker 4: reading a MAGA Bible book or whatever. And I'm so
- 53:58Speaker 4: glad that he lost the book so that John Boyd
- 54:02Speaker 4: didn't hit him in his final week of life. Although
- 54:06Speaker 4: we saw John Boyd's staples, and he is not looking healthy.
- 54:08Speaker 3: What's he doing at a staple?
- 54:10Speaker 4: I don't think he knew he was there. His business.
- 54:13Speaker 4: He just wandered in and out.
- 54:14Speaker 3: He loves the dry air.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 54:15Speaker 4: Yeah. Ice tea. Absolutely. Yes. Oh, my God. Only if
- 54:21Speaker 4: we can have Coco. Coco.
- 54:24Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Coco. Don't they kind of come as a– Where's Coco?
- 54:27Speaker 4: Maybe he can FaceTime her during the party.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Yeah. She feels like a good FaceTime.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Yeah. I think we'd only want ice tea because we'd
- 54:33Speaker 4: want him to quote Law & Order. Would we actually
- 54:35Speaker 4: want to talk to ice tea? I'm obsessed with– yeah. Great.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with Law & Order SVU.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Jennifer Coolidge.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Shelly Miscavige.
- 54:47Speaker 4: If we can find her.
- 54:48Speaker 3: It's a good invite to send out and just be like,
- 54:50Speaker 3: she might be coming.
- 54:51Speaker 4: She might be coming. She might not. Let's say no,
- 54:53Speaker 4: but she's invited. But she doesn't come.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Oh, interesting.
- 54:55Speaker 4: So can that not be one of the 10?
- 54:57Speaker 3: Sorry. Oh, that's the invite?
- 54:59Speaker 4: You only have 10. We can't invite Sally Miscavige. We
- 55:01Speaker 4: can't find her. That's what I'm saying. We shouldn't invite her.
- 55:05Speaker 4: She doesn't know who that is. Tell us who that is.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Shelley Miscavige. So Scientology.
- 55:13Speaker 3: You got it.
- 55:14Speaker 4: And they killed her or whatever.
- 55:15Speaker 3: Well, they've done something with her.
- 55:16Speaker 4: They've done something with her. Or maybe not.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Legally speaking, we don't know.
- 55:19Speaker 4: What they've done with her. Or maybe not.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Or she might just be having the time of her life.
- 55:24Speaker 3: In some compound.
- 55:25Speaker 4: They have beautiful Christmas decorations, Scientologists.
- 55:28Speaker 3: They really know how to do it.
- 55:29Speaker 4: I want to go in that building someday. The celebrity one,
- 55:31Speaker 4: not the blue one.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Celebrity center and the blue one.
- 55:33Speaker 4: You in the celebrity center?
- 55:35Speaker 3: Oh, you can walk right in there.
- 55:36Speaker 4: What do you do when you go in? They got
- 55:37Speaker 4: to crack a window.
- 55:38Speaker 3: I say this every time. Stuffy, stuffy place.
- 55:40Speaker 4: It looks stuffy. It does look stuffy. Is it nice
- 55:43Speaker 4: in there?
- 55:43Speaker 1: No.
- 55:44Speaker 3: It's dingy.
- 55:46Speaker 4: Do they make eye contact with you?
- 55:48Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 55:48Speaker 3: They make very strong eye contact. Love that.
- 55:50Speaker 4: Hate that, but I love it.
- 55:51Speaker 3: Oh, smoke. I didn't see anybody smoking, but they probably do.
- 55:54Speaker 3: That's a smoking religion.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Garly, who was smoking on her way down Ventura Avenue today,
- 56:00Speaker 4: I want you to know you're not the only person
- 56:03Speaker 4: on that sidewalk. You are affecting 100 feet behind you.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Oh, I don't like to hear this.
- 56:09Speaker 4: You stupid bitch. And I want to say you look
- 56:12Speaker 4: like you have a great personality. Smoking's back in a
- 56:14Speaker 4: huge way, unfortunately.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Is it?
- 56:17Speaker 1: Is it?
- 56:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Don't love to hear it.
- 56:19Speaker 4: Now our teeth will make sense. You know what? Silver lining.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Cuba Gooding Jr.
- 56:25Speaker 4: No.
- 56:26Speaker 3: No.
- 56:27Speaker 4: No, but my dad flew him on a Southwest Airlines
- 56:29Speaker 4: one time and he said he was nice to him.
- 56:30Speaker 4: And his hot son stayed at an Airbnb next to
- 56:33Speaker 4: her house. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Oh, my God. So many connections to Cuba.
- 56:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a lot. Wait, just to get confirmation,
- 56:39Speaker 4: yes or no on Shelley? It's going to be a
- 56:42Speaker 4: no on Shelley. Got it. I apologize, Ellis. But thrilled
- 56:44Speaker 4: that she knew who she was.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:46Speaker 4: Yeah. I know stuff sometimes.
- 56:48Speaker 3: Eric Trump.
- 56:49Speaker 4: No.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:50Speaker 4: Which one's that?
- 56:51Speaker 3: That's the scariest of all.
- 56:53Speaker 4: Oh, no. I want the boy that they're stretching. Is
- 56:56Speaker 4: that Safari?
- 56:57Speaker 3: No, Safari, I think, is the other one. Well, I
- 57:00Speaker 3: bet they're all Safari.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Who's the boy that they're stretching? He looks crazy.
- 57:04Speaker 3: What is the boy's name?
- 57:05Speaker 4: Hudson News.
- 57:07Speaker 3: He's at NYU.
- 57:08Speaker 4: Barron.
- 57:09Speaker 3: Barron.
- 57:10Speaker 4: Yeah. They're stretching him, which is ironic. Why? Because if
- 57:14Speaker 4: she was able to have a child, she's not Barron.
- 57:19Speaker 4: That's as ironic as anybody lyric from the song Ironic
- 57:23Speaker 4: from the musical Jagged Little Pill. Eric Trump is a no.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Anthony Hopkins.
- 57:28Speaker 4: No.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Oh.
- 57:29Speaker 4: I don't want to hear your stories. Is that the
- 57:32Speaker 4: one from Psycho? No, that's Anthony Perkins. Okay, so no.
- 57:37Speaker 4: Anthony Hopkins, no.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Karen O.
- 57:40Speaker 4: Wait, from Miley Cyrus?
- 57:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yes.
- 57:43Speaker 4: Oh, I don't know who that is.
- 57:44Speaker 3: You don't know Karen O? No. Oh, you've got to
- 57:46Speaker 3: know Karen O.
- 57:47Speaker 4: Why know Karen?
- 57:47Speaker 3: She's fantastic.
- 57:48Speaker 4: Karen Kilgariff. There are a lot of great Karens, to
- 57:51Speaker 4: be honest. Yeah, they really got a bad rap.
- 57:53Speaker 3: It's a shame about that name.
- 57:54Speaker 4: It should be Linda. I've never met a bad Karen,
- 57:56Speaker 4: to be honest. It should be Linda.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:58Speaker 3: Linda's a stronger choice.
- 58:00Speaker 4: My Aunt Linda doesn't drive. You knew a bad Linda.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Linda was the family in the neighborhood with all of
- 58:05Speaker 3: the Bible animated things. She sucked. The neighbor's dog bit her,
- 58:08Speaker 3: and we were all happy about it. Oh! Chauncey bit Linda.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Is she alive?
- 58:12Speaker 1: Chauncey, oh.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Is Linda alive?
- 58:13Speaker 3: I hope not.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Can we get eyes on Linda?
- 58:15Speaker 3: A lot of people died after the 90s.
- 58:16Speaker 4: She had Bible in yard. I'm sorry, Karen. It's going
- 58:20Speaker 4: to be a no for Karen O.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Educate yourselves on Karen O. She's great.
- 58:24Speaker 4: I've got a lot on my plate right now. It's
- 58:26Speaker 4: fucked up you told two women what to do.
- 58:30Speaker 3: This is my life, demanding women do things.
- 58:32Speaker 4: That's true. That's affirming, actually. Pope Leo. My friend Patrick.
- 58:37Speaker 4: Their parents are friends with Pope Leo and Pope Leo
- 58:40Speaker 4: personally invited them to the Vatican to hang out. And
- 58:43Speaker 4: they went and I said, Patrick, if you don't go,
- 58:46Speaker 4: I'm going to be mad at you. And Patrick said,
- 58:49Speaker 4: I wasn't invited. And I said, you go, you ask
- 58:52Speaker 4: for forgiveness. The Pope's right there. I think he does.
- 58:54Speaker 3: There's such a thing as a plus one.
- 58:55Speaker 4: He does that. I was like, you've got to get
- 58:57Speaker 4: in that golden city and you've got to release the.
- 59:00Speaker 3: The Files or whatever. And Shelley Miscavige.
- 59:02Speaker 4: And Shelley. Wouldn't that be great? Wouldn't that be great?
- 59:05Speaker 4: She's in the hat room. She's just like, I'm just
- 59:06Speaker 4: Catholic now. She has an apartment. in Rome. Shelley Miscavige.
- 59:11Speaker 4: She's just Catholic.
- 59:16Speaker 3: That's a drag name.
- 59:17Speaker 4: That's really good. That's a drag name. Yes.
- 59:20Speaker 3: That's a good one.
- 59:21Speaker 4: We should do a drag show in the Science Center.
- 59:22Speaker 4: So I'm going to say no to the Pope because
- 59:24Speaker 4: we know the Chicago stuff. What are we going to
- 59:27Speaker 4: talk about? Yeah. The socks. We've already done that.
- 59:30Speaker 3: John Cusack.
- 59:31Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Yes. But only if we can call Joan.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:35Speaker 4: Yeah. That's why.
- 59:36Speaker 3: That would be my.
- 59:37Speaker 4: She used to go to that garden. Olive Garden? Do
- 59:44Speaker 4: you know that garden when I used to live on
- 59:46Speaker 4: Olive in Chicago and there was that garden a few
- 59:48Speaker 4: blocks up? They're really nice.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 59:50Speaker 4: The garden center. She used to go there all the time.
- 59:53Speaker 3: Magic Johnson.
- 59:54Speaker 4: How is. So he's.
- 59:57Speaker 1: He.
- 59:58Speaker 4: Totally fine. Totally fine. I feel like he got HIV
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: AIDS very early.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: So early.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: And then like nothing happened.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: I almost feel like.
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Was he pouring money into HIV treatment?
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: That must have been it. And that's like helped propel things? No,
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: this was like early, babe. Oh, that's an interesting thought.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: This was like early, early. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: don't know. But you know what? Fuck, yeah. He loves
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: his queer-ass son. Seems like a good guy. His queer-ass son.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Seems like a fun uncle type.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: Yeah, and his name is Magic.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: That's fun. I mean, that alone. Yeah. So that's yes. Yeah. Yes, and?
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Piers Morgan. No.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: P.S. I've already met my dad. Have you ever seen
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: the clip of him interviewing Baby Reindeer Girl Lady?
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: And she's like, P.S., That was really good. I shouldn't
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: make fun of her. You are making fun of her. No,
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: I was making fun of her eyes and ability to
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: make eye contact.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Soulja Boy.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: No, I don't support. No, but I appreciate the choreography.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Oh, sure.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Sam Smith. Now, I know who that is,
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: but remind your audience. I don't know if they know.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Sam Smith's a singer.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: The singer.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Oh. I don't know that much about Sam Smith, to
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: be honest.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: No. Okay. We can have anyone we want, and we're
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: going to go with a person. We have to stop
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: and go, now, what does he do? That's so mean.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: Although I would love to watch Magic Johnson try and
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: understand what Sam Smith does. I bet they would get along, actually.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: They probably would love each other.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: That's why I thought maybe— We should invite them. That's
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: so nice. But no, this is about us. Okay, we're
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: going to say no to Sam Smith. MIA. They also
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: couldn't be found, so no. Yeah. We lost them.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Megan Fox.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Yes. You know what? Sure. I bet she's funny. I
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: bet she's beautiful.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet she does have a snappy. I bet
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: she's fun to look at.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: I bet she's funny, and I like that. There's a
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: movie on Netflix that she's like, handcuffed to her husband.
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: They're trying to kill each other. I love that.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Oh, interesting.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: Holiday in Handcuffs starring Melissa Joan Hart and Slater. Yeah. No, Slater. A.C. Slater? Yeah. Oh,
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Mario Lopez. Yeah, and they fall in love. She got
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: a bad perm.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Okay. Kerry Washington.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: Oh, my God, yes. Oh, yeah, yeah. I need to
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: ask her about her relationship with her co-star.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Oh, interesting.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: I just need to know. I'm sorry. I know she's
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: not good. She's going to hate it.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Corner her at your own party.
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: Well, we lock the doors.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Billy Crystal.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Oh, yes. I'll have what he's having.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: That's nine. Oh, we're at nine?
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: Wait. This is such a mixed bag of.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: This group is going to... You're going to need to
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: have some sort of icebreaker game.
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: Well, we're going to need to have a little magic.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: A little magic.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: There you go. Magic. Thankfully, we do.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Rumor Willis.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: I really want to say yes. No, we're definitely saying yes. Wait, what?
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: But we only have one more. Don't you want to
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: hear who else? I'm sick of Rumor Stardom. If that
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: song was written about Rumor Willis, that'd be so funny.
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: Lindsay Lohan's alive and I'm so glad. She said in
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: the first issue of Nickelodeon magazine that she would never
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: do a song career, and then she did. Oh, what
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: a betrayal. But her song was incredible. She's a liar.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: Let's just say no because we don't feel good about it.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: Because her dad's going through a lot.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: I want her to have free time.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: To spend with him.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: And she's genuinely so good in The House Bunny. Oh,
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: my God.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I didn't see The House Bunny.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: It's really good. It's really good. You're going to want
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: to see that. You don't see a lot of movies,
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: do you?
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Wait, what?
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: The House Bunny is like a gay, an iconic gay
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: cult classic. I've never seen The House Bunny, no. We
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: don't know that Bridger's gay. Yeah, I think I put
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: off a very straight vibe. How could you possibly think that? No,
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: straight men don't have legs like yours.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: I'm mistaken for a straight man all the time.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it probably happens a lot.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Julie Andrews.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: Okay, there we go.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: I was waiting for you to say yes to rumor,
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: then be mad about Julie.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: You can't get us. Who's on our list?
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Ellis, would you read the list?
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: I think it's... All righty. It's Tiffany Thiessen. Oh, great.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Rachel Maddow. Yes. Ice-T. Yeah, that's for me. Jennifer Coolidge. Yes.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: John Cusack, but only if you can call Joan. Yeah.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: Magic Johnson. Yeah. Magical. Megan Foxx. Yeah. So beautiful. Kerry Washington.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: Of course. What's going on? Billy Crystal.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Yes. And finally, Julie Andrews. Dang. This is a beautiful evening.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: It's quite an evening.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Shoshana Bean was in Billy Crystal's last Broadway show. She
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: played his daughter, I think. I didn't see it. Shout
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: out to Shoshana Bean. Shoshana Bean's my favorite alphabet. Okay.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: I think this is a tea party. What? Yeah. This
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: could work as a tea party. I think this is
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: a gorgeous tea party. We can throw tea into the river.
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: We can throw tea in the river and we can
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: spill tea and we can drink tea and have those
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: little sandwiches. You know what? And we can all have
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: dolls beside ourselves. There can be dolls. I'll make dolls.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: You have to stop making dolls. I think I've started
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: a new career trajectory because I had so much fun
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: making that. If you want to start a new career,
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: I love that. I do require 10% because I do
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: keep you alive.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: Yeah. She's your rip.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I am.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Manager, agent, lawyer.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: I do it all.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Oh. Yeah.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Triple threat in legal sense.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: I will never let anything bad happen to you unless
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: I do it. Just know that. Thank you. You're welcome.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: You have a booger in your nose.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: I'm so glad you told her.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. What a nightmare. Oh, my God.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: We're having fun.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: We need to answer a listener question.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: Okay, please. Oh, great.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: We're going to answer one from the Patreon where they're
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: just kind of asking questions. You know, things that aren't–
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: they don't need help. These people have helped themselves. Their
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: lives are in control. They just want answers.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: So let's see. I'll just– okay, here we go. This
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: is from a listener named Sydney. If you had the
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: opportunity to meet your idea of a higher power, what
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: gift would you bring them?
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: Sydney, that was insane.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Sydney's asking a big question.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: Sydney, are you mad at us? No. With that question,
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: Sydney is definitely they-them art studio owner. We come from
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: religious trauma. Hell yes. Are you religious trauma? Mormon. He's
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: a Mormon. No, I know. That's traumatic. It's nice to ask.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Although his parents are supportive, and so that's not so traumatic. Okay,
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: so let's say we're meeting our higher... First of all,
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: we have different higher powers. We definitely do.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: We have different ideas of a higher power.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Mine is a twister. Cool.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: No.
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: I don't know. She's panicking. I'll go. You go. I
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: have to think. My higher power is Judy Garland's gay dad.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: Francis. And I would bring him... Oh.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Would, no, I would bring him a copy of The
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Wizard of Oz because he died before she made it.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: And I'd say, this is your daughter, but then I
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: won't tell him what happened to her.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: And don't tell him about COVID or anything that's happened.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: I might do a little COVID. I think he'd like
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: it because he still doesn't even know about World War II.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: So far removed, right? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. When I was
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: a teenager, right around the time that I saw that
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: man's Full penis flopping around at the Universal Studios. Islands
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: of Adventure in Orlando, Florida. I made a promise to
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: God that I would wait until marriage to have Congress.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: And so I think when I finally meet my higher power,
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: I'm going to give him my virginity.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Oh, that's so sweet.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: Can you give him something you don't have? I lost
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: the ring I got.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Huh?
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: She lost more than the ring. I lost the ring. Huh?
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: You heard me. What are you bringing, Bridger?
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: I don't... The thing I've said time and time again
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: is if I meet whatever this is, it's a lawsuit.
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: Yeah. Take him down.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Class action, possibly.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: I always think about that. About suing God? Well, no.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: When I.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Questioning yourself with like, is God real? I remember asking
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: my dad during the Oklahoma City bombing aftermath. I'm sorry. No,
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: that was a tragedy. It was a tragedy. But I
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: remember because they were talking about how there was like
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: a nursery in there. And I was like, if God
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: is real, why did he kill all those babies? They
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: love protecting babies. Those babies, though, they were all going
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: to be serial killers. So God killed them before they
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: became oopsie daisies. Yeah, well, that was when I was like,
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: if God's real... He's kind of a dick.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: Grounds for a lawsuit.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: Grounds for a lawsuit.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: Ground zero for a lawsuit.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Grounds for a lawsuit.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: He did do that one. Bush and God did that one.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: That was a team effort. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Well, I think we answered the question perfectly.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Thank you, Sydney. Thank you so much, Sydney.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I mean, hopefully God's not listening to this episode.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: He's a subscriber to this podcast. He, him. For sure. He, him.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: For her. Him spelled H-Y-M-N.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: We answered the question perfectly. I have this gorgeous doll.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: This will be... She came with the name Lorna, but
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: you're welcome to change.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: The name if you want.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: No, Lorna.
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: Are you kidding me? A tragic female.
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: Lorna has a history of violence. We'll find a place.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: For her to sit right there. I love that. She's
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: touching her.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: I love that.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: It kind of looks... It's starting to look like Angela's
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: coming out of the thing.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: I don't know. There's something very interactive about it. I'm
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: so sorry. I just have to talk to her real quick.
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: Don't listen. I forgot to tell you. I got an
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: email the other day. A Murder, She Wrote podcast. They're
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: going through and they're watching all the episodes. They know
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: that I'm a Murder, She Wrote fan. They want me
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: to come on and talk about the episodes. Did they
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: want me to come on too? Oh.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: I'm glad you took care of that now.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: Well, I was going to forget. Yeah, of course. I
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: don't want that to happen. I have ADHD. Oh, I
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: think my therapist thinks I have ADHD, and so I
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: just started Wellbutrin. Oh, I'm on Wellbutrin.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: It's not doing anything for my ADHD.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: I have to take PTSD medication to sleep because my
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: dad's a dick. Do you like it or no?
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: I like my Wellbutrin. It's been very helpful.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: I love Wellbutrin. I'm on a lot of it. Yeah.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: I am on a lot of it.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: I am. You know you can run hot because of that?
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: You can? SSRIs make you hot sometimes.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I'm always so cold.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: I'm always hot. That's because you're so close to the ground.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: Heat rises. Oh, interesting. Except when you're in a valley,
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: which makes no sense. We're down low. Oh, true. Make
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: the heat rise. It is really hot. I have a
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: note for the mayor. Who's our mayor? First of all, I.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: Voted for you.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Spencer. Spencer, can we make this valley cooler? Is that...
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: Can we do that? Thank you for having me.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: I'm so happy that you could do this. I had
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: such a nice time.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: We're big fans. We're big fans. We love you.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: Likewise. And now we can all drive 100 miles an
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: hour home.
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: Well, not me. Max Maxwell wouldn't allow it.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he wouldn't let that happen.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: And he's still alive, it seems. And he's still probably booking.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: He's probably booking. Sorry, that got me.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: Thanks for being here. Listener, the podcast is over. I'm
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: going to go home and let the dog out to
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: use the bathroom. You can do that if you want
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: as well. I love you.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Goodbye.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: I Said No Gifts is an exactly right production. Our
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: senior producer is Ellis Nelson, and our episodes are beautifully
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: mixed by Ben Talladay. The theme song is by miracle
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: worker Amy Mann, and we couldn't do it without our
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: booker Patrick Kottner. You must follow the show on Instagram
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: at I Said No Gifts. That's where you're going to
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: see pictures of all these wonderful gifts I'm getting. And
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: don't you want to see the gifts?
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: You gotta come to me empty-handed I said no gifts
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Your presence is presence enough And I already had too
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: much stuff So how do you dare disobey me?
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Guitar solo
