- 3:15Quu has published its 2026 In-Vehicle Visuals Report, providing insights into radio's
- 3:21presentation in the dashboards of the top 100 best-selling new vehicles in the United States.
- 3:26Now in its third year, this report highlights the growing role of visual interfaces in
- 3:32enhancing the in-car listening experience.
- 3:35Notably, screens are now standard in vehicles, and infotainment systems are becoming more
- 3:41intuitive, often pairing audio with visual elements.
- 3:45This shift underscores the importance of discoverability in radio.
- 3:50Quu's Chief Executive Officer, Steve Newberry, emphasized that while audio availability
- 3:55remains strong, the challenge lies in discoverability.
- 3:59He noted that screens have become ubiquitous, and dashboards are increasingly user-friendly,
- 4:04blending audio with visuals.
- 4:07The report also indicates that while AM and FM radio is still widely available, its prominence
- 4:13within infotainment systems is diminishing.
- 4:16Meanwhile, HD Radio adoption is on the rise, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto holding
- 4:22steady, although SiriusXM's dashboard prominence is declining.
- 4:27The report's findings are based on vehicle sales data from GoodCarBadCar and an
- 4:31independent contractor's audit of in-dash systems, with analysis by broadcast researcher
- 4:36Doug Hyde.
- 4:38Industry contributors, including Fred Jacobs, Paul Jacobs, Joe D’Angelo, and Mike McVay,
- 4:44provided additional analysis and commentary.
- 4:48Quu's comprehensive report is crucial for broadcasters looking to adapt to the evolving
- 4:52landscape of radio in vehicles, ensuring that sound is accompanied by sight in the connected
- 4:57car era.
