Something hearty. Lucas: I love that! Speaking of cooking, today we're going to learn some basic Swedish cooking verbs. You know, things you say in the kitchen. Luna: Oh perfect. Like 'I chop' or 'I fry'? Lucas: Exactly. Let's start with the most important one: Jag lagar mat. It means 'I cook' or 'I prepare food.' Say it with me: Jag lagar mat. Luna: Jag lagar mat. Lucas: Yes! Good. Now, if you're chopping onions, you say: Jag hackar lök. Lök is onion. Luna: Jag hackar lök. That sounds like 'hack' – which makes sense! Lucas: Right? It's similar. Now, for frying: Jag steker kött. Kött is meat. Luna: Jag steker kött. Lucas: Beautiful. Next, to boil water: Jag kokar vatten. Vatten is water. Luna: Jag kokar vatten.
