Transcript
- 0:02Well, happy Friday morning everybody.
- 0:08Coffee with Kenny. Got a lot to say.
- 0:13I see you all laying there in your hotel beds in St.
- 0:17Louis, MO and and the surrounding communities.
- 0:21Went to the Waffle House last night out here by my house.
- 0:25Sitting there having a little breakfast around 11:00 at night
- 0:28and the fans piled in about 17 miles from the Dome.
- 0:35So the fans are staying all around the Saint Louis area.
- 0:41Yes Sir. EE hotels are crowded and Lucy
- 0:46simmer down Lucy barking at D See DS head right there.
- 0:51There's D and then Lucy's. Like, that means pick me up,
- 0:55give me, give me a treat. Lucy, stop.
- 1:01So anyway, you all are everywhere.
- 1:05So that was pretty cool to see some fans from Kansas City at
- 1:09the Waffle House last night. I got to clarify something.
- 1:15I made a mistake last night. We are not locked in VA main.
- 1:21I think I was thinking of the old format years ago.
- 1:25They used to take the top eight out of the feature and then you
- 1:28was locked in. They had AB main or something
- 1:30like that. But anyway, hell, all they even
- 1:33in the A mods and the late models, they hardly locking in
- 1:38anybody. They only locked in three last
- 1:40night, and I think only two or three in the late models.
- 1:44So they're doing this to you like the Chili Bowl now.
- 1:47You're never locked in, you just keep racing.
- 1:50So anyway, they locked in three in the modifieds last night.
- 1:56So on Saturday at 4:30 they run the mods again.
- 2:01That's my division. And they have 4 qualifiers and
- 2:05out of those four qualifiers they take the top three.
- 2:09I am in the 4th qualifier and I start pole.
- 2:12So we all, we all in the same boat.
- 2:16They only three locked in. Nobody's safe.
- 2:21All right, well, address a a couple subjects I noticed lately
- 2:30here over the last four months, people.
- 2:33Kenny Schrader came up to me at Quincy last year and he said,
- 2:36when did you become such a bottom feeder running the bottom
- 2:42way down there in the bottom? What do you run the bottom for?
- 2:48Have you ever noticed that when you run the bottom it's
- 2:51considered like a bad deal? What are you running the bottom,
- 2:56you know, down? So I run where my car tells me
- 3:03to run. I've won a lot of races on the
- 3:05high side. You can ask a lot of people.
- 3:07So when we run Quincy, we run the middle to the top in the
- 3:13heat races. Then when the feature comes
- 3:15along, we go to the bottom. When we run Peavely, we run the
- 3:19middle to the top. And then when the feature comes,
- 3:21we go to the bottom. There's an old saying, dirt
- 3:25racing, keep your momentum up, seek moisture.
- 3:28I do all that. So yeah, we got to, you know,
- 3:34right now when you're trying to get qualified, you, you go where
- 3:38you got to go. I remember summer Nationals race
- 3:44at Peavely and I went to the bottom.
- 3:47The whole field was high. Just this, you know, three
- 3:50months ago. Remember the summer Nationals
- 3:52race at Peebly? I run the bottom, caught Mike
- 3:56Harrison passed him for the lead and then I got got held up by a
- 4:01little bit of lap traffic finished second.
- 4:04But anyway, I'll run high if that's where I got to run high.
- 4:08If you go back to the qualifier here at the Dome last year, you
- 4:13Remember, Remember when I biked it?
- 4:16Guess where I was on the high side.
- 4:19So the Herminator will run wherever we need to run.
- 4:24All right, so hopefully I addressed that.
- 4:26I'll leave you with this. The Herminator will run that
- 4:30older car wherever it needs to run.
- 4:32Bottom, middle, top. We started 8th last night, we
- 4:38went to the bottom, we passed the car, we got 7th.
- 4:41And man, we had a hell of a race.
- 4:43Me Tyler Peterson and and Trev Jacoby, we was three wide I
- 4:49think the whole damn race but finished 7th.
- 4:54All right. I think that's it.
- 4:57We're going to we're going to Mosey on.
- 4:59We learned our lesson yesterday. The Dome opens at 11 when that
- 5:04when they say 11 that means 11 do not show up there at 10:40.
- 5:09We showed up at 10:40 and we stood in line for 20 minutes.
- 5:12So I'll be on down there around 2:00 today.
- 5:17I'm going to sign autographs from 4:00 to 5:00 at the Race
- 5:23Ranch. Our souvenir trailer, not
- 5:26trailer, but area. So I'll be signing autographs
- 5:29from 4:00 to 5:00 at the Race Ranch.
- 5:32I think Tyler Herb's going to be there before me.
- 5:35Tyler 3:00 to 4:00, then I'm four to five.
- 5:38Race ranchwhere.com. All right, drop all your
- 5:43comments here. Chew my ass out.
- 5:46The drunks were in full force last night.
- 5:49You would have been proud of me. I handled them all very well.
- 5:52I gave them all the attention they needed.
- 5:55Hey, Wallace. Hey, Wallace, I said.
- 5:59Why the hell is it when people get drunk?
- 6:01They scream and then the next morning you wake up with a
- 6:05hoarse voice. They're all.
- 6:06Drunk. We finished. 7th We start 13th
- 6:11in the big race. What have you all been drinking?
- 6:14Tonight. What?
- 6:15What kind of beer? How's my hey, how's my quarter
- 6:19panels? Look, hey.
- 6:21Did it look too bad for the gun? Hey, OK, sure.
- 6:25Job say quarter panel report. All right, here we go.
- 6:30Not too bad, not too bad. Let's go look at the left rear.
- 6:35Oh, got a little dangly here, look at the boys.
- 6:39Boys simmered down. Look at there.
- 6:43We locked in, boys. The legendary Ray Walsh jughead
- 6:49waved all your fans. Donnie Jumper.
- 6:52Donnie. Thank you, Donnie.
- 6:54Thank you. Cradle on feet.
- 6:57All right, boys. We locked in the a main.
- 7:00We start. We start. 13th.
- 7:02Awesome. Terminator stand, baby.
- 7:06Whoa, hey. But I think the reason you drink
- 7:11and scream is because you're either in a bar or at the
- 7:14racetrack and you can't hear over yourself.
- 7:17What's funny when they come down to the pit area and it's dead
- 7:19side, they still screaming at me.
- 7:22I was, I'm like simmer down, Y'all were wonderful, had a
- 7:27great night. I want to thank Donny Jumper,
- 7:30the owner. Not the owner.
- 7:32The owner of that car that I drove last night was Dan Werner.
- 7:36Thank you Dan and Donny Jumper. Impressive race cars.
- 7:40Car is prepared by Donnie Jumper.
- 7:43Impressive and don't want to thank Donnie.
- 7:46All right, everybody comment right here.
- 7:48Talk to me.
