- 0:01SPEAKER_00: All right, we're live.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Hey, I made simple.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I'm Steve R.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: O.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Brown.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Today we're in our mobile studio.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Got a great show.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: I have to confess.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Today's topic is about confession prompting.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: And where did that come from?
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Well, it's from that uh concern or that fear that we have to know everything.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: But the truth is you can't know everything.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: At least I can't.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Um so you know, often when we're using uh these AI tools, we end up kind of staring at the screen and wondering what's the right prompt to put in for this particular assignment.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Of course, the better the prompt, the better the outcome.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Uh last episode we covered that and uh gave some exact uh really clear examples.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And if you're receiving the AI Made Simple Newsletter, you're getting specific frameworks to um use prompting or really uh powerful prompting for um content, images, and videos.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: But today, um, you know, one of the one of the things that I do when I'm using prompting is um I just kind of do a brain dump and I just uh I confess basically to the AI.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I don't know where to start on this.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna share the screen.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: We're gonna go to the window.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you guys made it.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: So what is confession prompting?
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Basically, it just means that you're telling the LLM, look, I don't know where to start.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Um, here's kind of what I was thinking.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Here's what I want to do.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Can you help me get my uh head around this and help me get a plan and a and a um an agenda?
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And so today for this show, um I was kind of in that state, I have to confess.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: It's like um, you know, usually I have a topic that's really um uh burning that I want to cover.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And today I've um, because I'm in a different location and been traveling, I was a little bit uh focused on other things, getting oriented, and um in the effort of preparing for the show, it um became obvious to me that uh I need to spend a little more time on um presenting for this.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So I did the old confession prompting.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: And let me see here.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I have to make sure I'm sharing this right page.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: So it's really, really easy.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: That it's here's why it matters.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Oftentimes we we're not prepared, but you know, if you're leading a uh a company or an organization, you're always um in the moment, you've got all these things pulling at you, and you'd like to be more prepared than you are every time you step into a meeting.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: And yet you have to step into that meeting, you have to step in with that client, you have to step in with that employee, and do the best you can on the fly.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And so being able to just spend a moment and uh share that uh what's going on with that LLM, then it can quickly uh get you organized and set you up.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And so I'm going to I'm gonna show you an example of this.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: So let's go to here on my laptop.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: So it's a little bit, I'm a little bit clumsy.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Let's see if we made it.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so this is the exact uh confession I made earlier before uh getting prepared for the show.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Is like uh, hey, I want to do a live stream today about confession prompting, but here's my problem.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I can't decide whether to call it a brain dump or confession.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: One feels more safe, the other feels more hooky.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Can you give me the pros and cons and maybe a title that bridges both?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: And then I just hit enter, and then now you're brainstorming with um you're brainstorming with someone that's like up to speed on what you're doing and has some input so that you can be um you can be more creative and you can start to pick out.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: You know, when you when you ask for someone to um do an assignment for you, and they go do most of it, and they bring it to you, it's like, oh, that's excellent.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So I just removed this, I removed this, and they've done most of the work, and that's what this is.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: And so um we went with we went with a confession prompt today.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: But you can use this in many uh situations.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: So for example, say that you had uh emails for people that are visiting your marketing blogs, and you just say, uh, look, I don't want it to feel salesy, but I would like them to feel like, hey, this is easy, you can do it, and you don't need to be tackle technical, but I don't know exact words to say.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Can you help me brainstorm these options?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Well, you want to be a good steward, you want to like you've worked hard to get people to um your website or to send uh fill out a form, but you want to be like diligent, and I and it's just hard to get all your your um I's dotted and your t's crossed, and so what a great thing is like to spend a little time, see what it comes up with, and then you can hand this off and delegate it to your your team that you're leading with more clarity so that you get more of what you want, and so um this is an example.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Like I I wouldn't think I do this all the time, but just just truthfully, you're exhausted trying to be creative all the time, and what you you can't just be in the moment, and so when you see things like this, oh that's a great idea.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: You're closer than you think.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Thanks for stopping by my article.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Most people think marketing tech is complicated, but it's really not.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: With the right approach, you don't need to be technical to get results.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: If you can send an email, you can set this up.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I'll show you how.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: It's pretty cool.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Um, this is confessional and relatable.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: I used to think this was overwhelming too.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I'll be honest, this stuff used to confuse me when I first started.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I thought marketing systems were only for tech wizards.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: The truth, they're just tools, they only need a few simple steps.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: So you see how all of a sudden you can get great inspiration, and you can even iterate on these.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: You can ask it to um go back and change a little, um, a few items.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: So let's go here.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: This was on um, let's say you have an employee and you want to sign them a project, but again, you know, you you know, you feel guilty, you hire an employee, you need to spend a lot of time with them and get them set up for success.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: But um, the business of the day pulls you away, right?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And so you real quickly you can start getting uh inspiration and direction and actually hand them and set them uh a clear instructions and set them up for success.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And so imagine if you had a custom GPT already knew about all of your business, already knew your products, your services, your your uh pricing, your customers, your prospects, then you could quickly use that custom GPT to get you the things, uh, get you the clarity and the instructions and the assignment to your new employees, or to even hand off this agenda to your existing employee to lead that new employee orientation correctly.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: They're just fascinating how uh coming in here and um just dropping your thoughts, doing a brain dump.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: So let's do let's do another one here.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: And let's just say that let's do this.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Hey, I'm doing a live stream at the moment, and um I'm not real clear how to make the segue from talking about confession prompting and how to lead into uh maybe um someone would be interested in getting a custom GPT so that when they do a brain dump, they feel um they would get content that's more clear and more impactful.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: So I'm a little at loss for words because I'm doing this live at the moment.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Can you hook me up?
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Well, let's see what happens here.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: So I confessed that I'm sending it into the system, and let's see what it spits out.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: Segway.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: It's not the kind of segue that you used to ride.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Are those even around anymore?
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Now, here's the thing about confession prompting or brain dumping, whatever you call it.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: The beauty is you don't have to be polished, you just get your thoughts out.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: But here's where it gets powerful.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Imagine if every time that you did a brain dump, instead of getting a wall of random text back, you had your own custom GPT that knows your voice, your style, your business.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Suddenly, messy confession turns into content that's clear, impactful, and ready to use.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: That's the difference between just experimenting with AI and actually putting it to work for you.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: And so, as you noticed, just framed it as a natural extension, not a sales pitch, just connecting the dots.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: I put in messy raw input, and it turned it out into a nice, clear, and useful output.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: So let's do our next step here.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: So, one of the things that I do is I work with leaders and I help them set up these really uh powerful custom GPTs.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: In essence, um, I download your brain, I get it set up in your own uh GPT.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: It's uh it's not an off-the-shelf version, as you would see here.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: You would have your own custom version of that that knows your voice, your mission, your vision, your products, your services.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: And it's a great way to meet your mini U.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: You know, one of the hardest things about leading the organization is you feel lonely because nobody really understands, even though they may want to, they're not in your shoes, they don't know.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: And a custom GPT or a mini U can be that go-to support tool.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: You said it.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: I just wished I had someone who got it.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: You thought that, you felt that.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: So that's what I do.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: I work with companies, we help them get squared away in AI, implement that, be more efficient and effective, and then I work with leaders to build and design their custom GPTs.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Is this something that you're interested in or you're needing?
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Go to ROIonline.com and listen, and uh, you and I'll talk for 30 minutes, and we'll figure out if this is something that uh you need, and we'll figure out where to go from there.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Hey, I made simple man.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: So the the way to go about using these tools, you know, everybody tells you how to do these um these prompts, these specific prompting, etc.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: You don't need it.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: You just confess, confession.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: You know, the problem with confessing is for people being judgmental, but your AI is not judgmental.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Your brain, though.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Get it squared away.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: You got this.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: I'm Steve, R.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Y.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Brown.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: This is AI Made Simple.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And we'll see you next week on the live version of AI Made Simple.
- 12:55unknown: It's now white boy, like sound power, face, big, light.
