Morning — May 24 — Ephesians 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. — Ephesians 4:30
The Spirit is a person, and He can be grieved. We grieve Him when we walk in the flesh instead of the Spirit, when we harbor bitterness or speak corruption. Yet the gospel frames our grief: He seals us because Christ is faithful, even when we are not. The Spirit who can be grieved is the same Spirit who will not let us go.
