  So what's new in NASCAR and I have a lot.

  You would not think there's that many changes this year, but

  there is, there's a lot. So let let's start with Herman's

  What's new in NASCAR? These are mine.

  Now I want all of you to feel free to add them in, in the

  new in NASCAR. But these are my favorites.

  But these are the ones that pop out to me.

  Martinsville or you know, silly stuff.

  Those are things we shouldn't be paying attention to anyway.

  They're too minute. Fans shouldn't worry about that.

  But this one here, we're going to start out with numero Uno.

  This one here really interest me.

  Little birdie told me that NASCAR is going to start an

  alumni now. I haven't heard this anywhere.

  This is breaking news right here on the Kenny Wallace Show and I

  really like this idea. NASCAR is looking at starting an

  alumni and you say, what the hell does that mean, Herman?

  Well, that means Rusty Wallace, Bobby the Bonnie the Herminator,

  Kenny Wallace. I'm already going to be at, you

  know, 9 trackside lives. I'm going to be at the, you

  know, Saint Louis NASCAR race. I'm going to be at Atlanta.

  I'm going to be at Bristol, Texas, you know, so on so forth.

  I'm already going to be there, you know, What about guys like

  Jimmy Spencer, Todd Bodine, NASCAR alumni, NASCAR will give

  these drivers a hard card where they can automatically go to any

  NASCAR races they want. Who knows, they might be given a
• 3:19
  nice golf shirt. And when you see that NASCAR
• 3:23
  alumni, that driver walking around like, oh man, look at
• 3:26
  that. Maybe the names on there, right?

  Maybe it says Todd Bodine. Maybe it says, you know, Jimmy
• 3:33
  Spencer, although you know the boys are a little bigger now.

  Everybody's got a little meat on them, everybody's a little
• 3:39
  older. But how nice would that be for a
• 3:42
  NASCAR alumni, for you to see some of your legendary drivers
• 3:47
  that decided to come to some of these NASCAR races because
• 3:51
  NASCAR treat them a little better.

  So the little birdie tells me that we haven't done a good job.

  NASCAR has not done a good job. We're going to try to make this

  right and that's definitely the right move because you see it in
• 4:05
  baseball, you see it in football, you see it in hockey

  right down here at Busch Stadium, home of those eleven
• 4:11
  time world champion Saint Louis Cardinals.

  You see those players, you know pregame they're they're out
• 4:17
  there talking with today's players.

  So that needs to be done. So that's number one look for

  NASCAR to start an alumni. I don't know when, but I believe

  it's coming. All right, #2.

  I like this one. NASCAR, the Cup Series goes back

  to Iowa. Why?

  Well, I was told that, you know, for them to continue getting

  their tax break on that racetrack that they own, they

  need to run a race, you know, and and then the little ARCA
• 4:49
  races, I mean, and you know, come on, I like ARCA.

  But if we're going to run a race, let's go ahead and do it.

  So this is a good way for the Cup Series to get back to, you

  know, the upper Midwest, the Corn Belt.

  There's a lot of hard workers up there.

  It shows that they, they pack them in there, they'll be, you

  know, 4050 thousand people there, maybe 40,000.

  They got great grandstands. They got good parking right off
• 5:14
  of a major Interstate. It races kind of like a short
• 5:17
  track. It's kind of got that Richmond
• 5:19
  field and I'm looking at my notes and I just what I see is

  Cup goes to Iowa, the Cup Series goes back to Iowa.

  It's a great idea because it needs to be in that area.

  All right. And remember the tax break state

  of Iowa I believe. Now don't hold me this, but I

  think state of Iowa say if you we're going to keep giving you a
• 5:40
  tax break you need to run one race here.

  So run the Cup Series there. Great Move.

  They did a lot of testing with a muffler.

  The car is still loud. It's still loud for some of you

  crazy people out there. I don't like NASCAR.

  It was a big success last year, but I'm sure they lost a lot of

  To get all that money, well, they'll just go get more.

  So it's that old saying. The demise of NASCAR has been

  greatly exaggerated. So they lose money in Chicago,

  but that next Gen. car, that's the perfect place to display it.

  And man, what a race they had last year.

  kicked NASCAR, but he made our drivers look like fools.

  So who's going to be able to compete against him?

  So they need to stop that, need to stop abusing NASCAR.

  They can help your city that's crime ridden as it is, so NASCAR

  can actually clean your city up. NASCAR can make your city

  better. You got more problems than

  This is a good one, too. The NASCAR Cup Series is back at

  the LA Coliseum here in just a little bit on February 4th.

  And OK, so they're going back and they got the NASCAR Mexico

  series going to run with them. So you're going to have the

  NASCAR Cup Series. You're going to have another

  division, the NASCAR Mexico series.

  And remember, David Reagan is going to be putting that

  electric vehicle on display. We've already had a whole show

  my life. NASCAR was not going to have

  anybody there on Saturday and everybody started going, what do

  you mean we can't go to the race on Saturday?

  NASCAR just said, well, we're just going to, it's made for TV.

  So on Saturday they were going to have qualifying the heat

  races and they were just going to have it on Fox TV.

  Well, that's where everybody always talks about the fans.

  Started bitching and moaning. We want to go, we want to go on

  Saturday, Ben Kennedy said. We heard you.

  We're going to let you all in free.

  You can go to the LA Coliseum free on Saturday, February 3rd

  and watch heat races, qualifying, everything.
