- 1:08Alright friends let's do it. Let's read together.
- 1:11Esther chapter 9 So, on March 7, the to decrees
- 1:26of the king were put into the effect on that day.
- 1:29The enemies of the Jews, had hoped to overpower them, but
- 1:33quite the opposite happened, it was the Jews who overpowered
- 1:37their enemies, the Jews gathered in their cities throughout all
- 1:41the king's provinces to attack, anyone who tried to harm them,
- 1:45but no one can make a stand against them.
- 1:48For everyone was afraid of them and all the Nobles of the
- 1:51province's. The highwomen Highest offices,
- 1:54the governors and the Royal officials helped the Jews for
- 1:58fear of Mordecai for Mordecai, had been promoted in the king's
- 2:03Palace and his Fame spread throughout all the provinces as
- 2:07he became more and more powerful.
- 2:11So the Jews went ahead on the appointed day and struck down
- 2:14their enemies with the sword, they killed and annihilated
- 2:18their enemies and did as they please.
- 2:21But those who hated them, In the Fortress of susur itself.
- 2:25The Jews killed 500 men. They also killed passion data.

- 2:41i-era, die and visitor. The ten sons of Haman, son of
- 2:47ham. Adata the enemy of the Jews, but
- 2:50they did not take any plunder. That very day.
- 2:54When the King was informed of the number of people killed in
- 2:57the Fortress of Susa, he called The Queen.
- 3:00Esther and said the Jews have killed 500 men in the Fortress
- 3:05of Susa alone as well as haman's ten Sons.
- 3:09If they have done that here, what has happened in the rest of
- 3:12the provinces. But now, what more do you want?
- 3:17It will be granted to you tell me and I will do it.
- 3:22Esther responded. If it please the King, give the
- 3:26Jews in Susa permission to do it again.
- 3:29Tomorrow as they have done today and let the bodies of haman's,
- 3:33ten Sons be impaled on a pole. So the king agreed and the
- 3:39decree was announced in Susa, and they impaled the bodies of
- 3:43haman's ten Sons, then the Jews at Susa.
- 3:47Gathered together on March 8 and killed 300 more men.
- 3:52And again, they took no plunder. Meanwhile, the other Jews
- 3:57throughout the king's provinces had gathered together to defend
- 4:00their lives. They gained relief from all
- 4:03their enemies, killing 75, thousand of those who hated
- 4:07them. But they did not take any
- 4:10plunder. This was done throughout the
- 4:12provinces on March 7 and on March 8.
- 4:15The rested celebrating their Victory with a day of feasting
- 4:19and gladness the Jews at Susa. So kill the enemies on March 7
- 4:24and again on March 8. Then rested on March 9 making
- 4:29that bad day of feasting and gladness.
- 4:33So to this day, rural Jews living in remote Villages,
- 4:37celebrate an annual festival and holiday on the appointed day in
- 4:41late winter when they rejoice and send gifts of food to each
- 4:45other. Mordecai recorded these events
- 4:49and sent letters to the Jews near and far throughout all the
- 4:53provinces of King Xerxes calling on them.
- 4:55To celebrate an annual Festival on these two days.
- 4:59He told them to celebrate these days with feasting and gladness
- 5:03and by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the
- 5:06poor, this would commemorate a time when the Jews gain relief
- 5:11from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness
- 5:15and their mourning into Joy. So the Jews accepted more to
- 5:19guys proposal and adopted this annual custom Haman, son of
- 5:24hammer data the agagite, the enemy of the Jews had plotted to
- 5:28crush and Destroy them on the date.
- 5:30Determined by casting lots, the Lots were called Purim.
- 5:35But when Esther came before the king, he issued a decree causing
- 5:39haman's evil plot to backfire and Haman.
- 5:42And his sons were impaled on a sharpened pole.
- 5:46That is why this celebration is called Purim because it is the
- 5:50ancient word for casting lots. So because of Mordecai's letter
- 5:55and because of what they had experienced, the Jews throughout
- 5:58the realm agreed to inaugurate this tradition and to pass it on
- 6:03to their descendants and to all who became Choose.
- 6:06They declared they would never fail to celebrate these to
- 6:09prescribe days at the appointed time.
- 6:11Each year. These days would be remembered
- 6:15and kept from generation to generation and celebrated by
- 6:19every family throughout the provinces and cities of the
- 6:22Empire. This Festival of Purim would
- 6:25never cease to be celebrated among the Jews, nor would the
- 6:29memory of what happened ever died out among their
- 6:32descendants. Then Queen Esther.
- 6:35The daughter of a be hail along with Mordecai.
- 6:38The Jew wrote another letter, putting the Queens full
- 6:42Authority behind Mordecai's letter to establish the Festival
- 6:46of Purim letters. Wishing peace and security were
- 6:50sent to the Jews throughout the 127 Promises of the empire of
- 6:55Xerxes. These letters, established the
- 6:58Festival of Purim, an annual celebration of these days at the
- 7:03appointed. Third time, decreed by both
- 7:05Mordecai, the Jew and Queen Esther.
- 7:08The people decided to observe this Festival just as they had
- 7:12decided for themselves and their descendants to establish the
- 7:16times of fasting and morning. So the command of Esther
- 7:20confirmed the practices of Purim and it was all written down in
- 7:24the records. Father, thank you for your grace
- 7:37to us. Thank you that your grace is not
- 7:40just a flash in the pan that gets us excited.
