- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six Let's see where are we sorry,
- 0:16Speaker 1: guys six thirty seven through six thirty nine, big names
- 0:20Speaker 1: duke it out, the heated block B battle, a deadly blow,
- 0:24Speaker 1: the astonishing King punch, and the fighting fish strike across
- 0:30Speaker 1: the deadly Iron Bridge. In these episodes, I know that
- 0:40Speaker 1: I probably should be more invested in all of the
- 0:42Speaker 1: people fighting it out in the coliseum, but I think
- 0:46Speaker 1: I have established already how weirdly into Sanjy's storyline. I am,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and I wish that we got more because it ends
- 0:54Speaker 1: on a cliffhanger and I really really want to know
- 0:56Speaker 1: what the fuck is going on. Welcome to foil Me,
- 1:19Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you
- 1:22Speaker 1: very much to Florian for commissioning this episode. Thank you, Florian.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Florian is here in the chat, so is Saraphim. Sarafhim says,
- 1:31Speaker 1: went back to check and seems the Frankie line that
- 1:34Speaker 1: had you baffled was mostly a dub issue the sub
- 1:37Speaker 1: It's just a more natural feeling. Oh right, he was
- 1:40Speaker 1: your brother? Oh okay, okay, yeah, because that was me
- 1:47Speaker 1: being hung up on like why wouldn't he know that?
- 1:49Speaker 1: And this shouldn't be new information, right right right? Okay,
- 1:52Speaker 1: thank you, Sarah. I appreciate you doing a bit of
- 1:55Speaker 1: a sleuthing on that just can't of slothing. If it's
- 1:58Speaker 1: just like information that is avail, I feel like it
- 2:02Speaker 1: still counts, right, Yeah. So these three episodes, like I said,
- 2:07Speaker 1: you guys, we have all of these different characters that
- 2:10Speaker 1: are fighting it out, and really the vibe for me
- 2:15Speaker 1: on this is I just have to let it wash
- 2:19Speaker 1: over me because none of these guys are really gonna
- 2:21Speaker 1: matter except for the ones that actually end up being
- 2:26Speaker 1: the champions of each block. And if the other folks
- 2:30Speaker 1: that get knocked out eventually do wind up being somebody
- 2:33Speaker 1: that I need to worry about, then I will make
- 2:36Speaker 1: an effort more of an effort to remember their names.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But from where I am sitting right now, none of
- 2:43Speaker 1: these dudes matter. So I am very much over here
- 2:47Speaker 1: just like yeah, yeah, let's move this along, you know
- 2:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And I was a little saddened at
- 2:53Speaker 1: the fact that we get so little of everybody else's deal.
- 2:57Speaker 1: We just we have a very brief check in with Frankie,
- 3:00Speaker 1: which also kind of ends on this cliffhanger when that
- 3:03Speaker 1: little soldier toy is like, you need to learn about
- 3:06Speaker 1: the terrible history of dress rosa end of episode, start
- 3:10Speaker 1: a new episode, and nothing about that. I really thought
- 3:14Speaker 1: the way that ended the next episode was going to
- 3:17Speaker 1: be focused mostly on getting that information, and we don't
- 3:20Speaker 1: get anything yet, so they are really drawing that out.
- 3:25Speaker 1: We get that little bit that with Sanji that I mentioned,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I am so interested. We get nothing at all of
- 3:35Speaker 1: Zoro in these three episodes and him running after this
- 3:39Speaker 1: little fairy pixie thing, so no idea what's going on there,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and we do not go back to the sonny, so
- 3:47Speaker 1: we just left it in the last section with this
- 3:50Speaker 1: bizarre psychedelic vision that everybody has, and just there's just
- 3:56Speaker 1: like so many things that I am much much more
- 4:01Speaker 1: interested in than the Colisseum fight, and we are not
- 4:04Speaker 1: getting any time with those things right now because of
- 4:06Speaker 1: this fight, which is just kind of making me feel
- 4:09Speaker 1: at this point like I like you even less Colosseum fight,
- 4:13Speaker 1: because you're taking attention from the things that I actually
- 4:15Speaker 1: care about right now. So yeah, that is my like
- 4:19Speaker 1: overall vibe on this. So we pick up where we
- 4:25Speaker 1: left off with I think, what is his name, chin
- 4:30Speaker 1: Chow because it's like that chin in it, and that
- 4:34Speaker 1: is apparently like part of his deal. But he, uh,
- 4:39Speaker 1: you know, is the one that like called Loofy by
- 4:42Speaker 1: his name and Lufy responded to it. It is very funny,
- 4:46Speaker 1: you guys, because I was saying in a couple episodes ago,
- 4:49Speaker 1: how is Lufy going to handle the need to keep
- 4:53Speaker 1: his identity secret? And he's actually putting in more of
- 5:00Speaker 1: an effort than I expected. I'm not trying to say
- 5:04Speaker 1: he's doing a good job of it. I am just
- 5:07Speaker 1: saying that a lot of the time people tell him
- 5:09Speaker 1: something and he goes yeah, yeah, yeah, and then when
- 5:12Speaker 1: the time comes, he spends no energy whatsoever on doing
- 5:16Speaker 1: what he agreed to two minutes ago, and seems genuinely
- 5:20Speaker 1: puzzled that after having said yeah, yeah, yeah, anybody expected
- 5:24Speaker 1: him to stick to the thing he said. So the
- 5:27Speaker 1: fact that he is actually stopping himself and being like, oh,
- 5:31Speaker 1: what do you mean? My name's Lucy, that's more than
- 5:34Speaker 1: I thought I was going to get from him. So,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you know what, like decent job, Loofy. He even berates
- 5:42Speaker 1: himself a little bit for not keeping the promise that
- 5:48Speaker 1: he made to Frankie at one point, and it's just like, wow,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I really fuck that up. And again Lufy promises people
- 5:55Speaker 1: shit all the time and then just doesn't do it.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So for him to stop and notice that he like
- 6:02Speaker 1: let a friend down, it's just not really something that
- 6:05Speaker 1: we have seen from him in this sense. He has
- 6:08Speaker 1: let a friend down and been and beaten himself up
- 6:12Speaker 1: on it when they've been like captured or are in
- 6:15Speaker 1: danger in some way, but when it's just him giving
- 6:18Speaker 1: his word about following a plan, like we all know,
- 6:23Speaker 1: if there's one thing Lufy has zero respect for, it
- 6:27Speaker 1: is plans. He just absolutely could not care less. So yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 1: oh sorry, Sarafim says, that's fair. Wait till you know
- 6:39Speaker 1: you need to care to care well said. Florian says,
- 6:43Speaker 1: this is honestly how I felt first time watching, and
- 6:46Speaker 1: Seraphim says, yeah, this is part of the pacing stuff
- 6:48Speaker 1: with Dresserosa. There's a lot of different plot lines going on.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Then the anime went and stretched everything out even further,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and Florian responds, sorry, was not able to update the
- 6:56Speaker 1: character spreadsheet this week. It is fine. I really appreciate
- 7:01Speaker 1: the effort that you've put into that. Anyway, and it
- 7:04Speaker 1: doesn't like I think that based on how many people
- 7:07Speaker 1: are getting booted, it would have been a lot of
- 7:11Speaker 1: effort for you to update it for people who are
- 7:14Speaker 1: not going to matter. So I don't feel like you
- 7:17Speaker 1: really need to worry about it until folks are a
- 7:20Speaker 1: bit more settled. Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I
- 7:25Speaker 1: just went over to the character sheet and Florian has
- 7:28Speaker 1: it set up with their iminage of the character, their name,
- 7:32Speaker 1: their position more lord of the Sea, officer, agent of
- 7:35Speaker 1: do Flamingo, et cetera, and then powers, and Violin is
- 7:39Speaker 1: at the bottom and her position is a stabby woman
- 7:44Speaker 1: in need and her power is dancing I would say,
- 7:53Speaker 1: a stabby woman in need. And Gatz is the Colisseum
- 7:57Speaker 1: commentator and his power is talking, which, frankly that is
- 8:03Speaker 1: also my power. So me and Gats, even though he
- 8:06Speaker 1: kind of sucks, I do relate and I appreciate also
- 8:12Speaker 1: honorable mention to the photo of Caesar Clown that Florian used,
- 8:16Speaker 1: because he used the exact goofy smiling picture of Caesar
- 8:20Speaker 1: Clown that I shared when I was laughing at him
- 8:23Speaker 1: during the Live the Wanna Be episode. So Florian ten
- 8:29Speaker 1: points to you for this amazing, this, this flawless spreadsheet.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I love it so much. I should I should divide
- 8:39Speaker 1: my listeners into houses like Hogwarts, and then I can
- 8:43Speaker 1: assign points because we'll have like, you know, our one
- 8:46Speaker 1: piece houses and our supernatural houses. So anyway, all right,
- 8:52Speaker 1: all right, back back into the things. So once again,
- 8:57Speaker 1: Cavendish is like, are you loofy or are aren't you?
- 9:00Speaker 1: And he's like, no, no, no, I'm not. And he's like,
- 9:02Speaker 1: then why did you answer him by this? And he
- 9:05Speaker 1: really gets to the point where he just doesn't believe Lufy.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Lufy just keeps on responding to Shinjau, trying to like
- 9:13Speaker 1: like simultaneously have the conversation with this guy while also
- 9:17Speaker 1: trying to tell Cavendish, I'm not who this guy thinks,
- 9:22Speaker 1: despite me interacting with him completely as if the as
- 9:27Speaker 1: if I am indeed that man. So understandably, Cavendish is
- 9:31Speaker 1: just like, yeah, you're you're clearly lying and decides that
- 9:37Speaker 1: he doesn't care anymore about this fight. He is going
- 9:42Speaker 1: to take Lufy out even if it gets him disqualified.
- 9:45Speaker 1: He doesn't care because he is so heated over the
- 9:49Speaker 1: fact that Lufi has stolen his popularity, like later on.
- 9:55Speaker 1: That's the way he puts it, is that you are
- 9:57Speaker 1: somebody who carelessly steals the popularity of others. And honestly,
- 10:05Speaker 1: there is something wonderful about the fact that he admits
- 10:10Speaker 1: this is his reasoning. I wouldn't mind it if we
- 10:14Speaker 1: had a character who tried to pretend that there was
- 10:17Speaker 1: something else going on and we found out actually it's
- 10:22Speaker 1: it's a much more petty, silly thing, not the thing
- 10:26Speaker 1: that he's been telling you. I would I would be
- 10:29Speaker 1: into that, and I'm sort of considering that being what
- 10:33Speaker 1: like something I write into a little side character in
- 10:36Speaker 1: one of my stories is that they act like they
- 10:39Speaker 1: have this big vendetta, but really it's something extremely petty,
- 10:43Speaker 1: like you wind up getting more Facebook followers than me
- 10:45Speaker 1: or something. So anyway, this Cavendish is willing to sacrifice
- 10:52Speaker 1: everything that he is here for in order to take
- 10:55Speaker 1: Loofy down, which I just thought was really interesting because
- 11:00Speaker 1: because he the impression that I got was that, like
- 11:06Speaker 1: he was very invested in getting this devil fruit. So
- 11:11Speaker 1: if he hates Loofy enough that he is willing to
- 11:16Speaker 1: sacrifice his opportunity for this fruit, either this fruit is
- 11:21Speaker 1: not as important to him as I thought, or Loofy
- 11:25Speaker 1: is way way more of a bother to him than
- 11:29Speaker 1: I can even imagine. I'm trying to put myself into
- 11:33Speaker 1: his petty shoes, and usually I can do that fairly well,
- 11:39Speaker 1: but this is one where I'm just like, you know what, sir, No,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you're not okay, Like that's you need to get some therapy,
- 11:49Speaker 1: my friend. And it's funny for being somebody who is
- 11:53Speaker 1: so allegedly beautiful, women are literally falling down at the
- 11:59Speaker 1: sight of this man. Isn't that enough? Isn't that enough?
- 12:07Speaker 1: But no, evidently not only is it not enough, but
- 12:12Speaker 1: it's like if anybody else ever outshines him, it all
- 12:17Speaker 1: falls apart for him completely, which actually kind of tracks.
- 12:22Speaker 1: And as somebody who used to really take my appearance
- 12:27Speaker 1: super seriously and was not satisfied unless I was the
- 12:32Speaker 1: prettiest girl in the room, which often did not happen,
- 12:38Speaker 1: it is it's not a great place to live where
- 12:42Speaker 1: your self worth is based on everybody else's reaction to you.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And it's kind of an irony for me to get
- 12:50Speaker 1: to a place in my life where I simultaneously know
- 12:54Speaker 1: that that is true, and I am coming more to
- 12:57Speaker 1: peace with that, especially aging and realize that sort of
- 13:01Speaker 1: beauty is fleeting anyway. But I also have a job
- 13:05Speaker 1: now where what people think of me is literally how
- 13:08Speaker 1: I make money. So it's kind of difficult to like
- 13:13Speaker 1: get to the point where I'm at peace with that
- 13:16Speaker 1: and also take my job, like have it be something
- 13:23Speaker 1: that I can be objective about and not want to
- 13:27Speaker 1: cater to people in a way that is a lot
- 13:30Speaker 1: more petty and less about the substance of what I do,
- 13:33Speaker 1: if that makes sense, because I often think, you guys,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and this is not me fishing for a compliment right now,
- 13:42Speaker 1: so please don't. I'm just trying to say this thing
- 13:44Speaker 1: because I think we all understand what I'm saying. If
- 13:48Speaker 1: I were one hundred and fifty pounds lighter and ten
- 13:55Speaker 1: years younger and came on screen in full make up
- 14:01Speaker 1: and just had a different look, I am sure I
- 14:07Speaker 1: would have more followers on Patreon. It's just a fact.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I am certain there is no separating these things from
- 14:16Speaker 1: each other. A lot of the time, it's not It's
- 14:20Speaker 1: not a thing that makes me happy to know. And
- 14:24Speaker 1: yet I know that, and I'm not doing any of
- 14:29Speaker 1: that in order to gain followers, because I've reached a
- 14:33Speaker 1: point in my life where I'm just sort of like, yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: you know what if I have to do all that,
- 14:38Speaker 1: fuck it, you know. So anyway, what I'm saying is, Cavendish,
- 14:43Speaker 1: grow up. Grow up. You're boring and you're basic. So
- 14:52Speaker 1: Shinzell is out here about to attack Loofy and then
- 14:56Speaker 1: all of his I think his grandsons or his no,
- 15:00Speaker 1: I can't remember how these guys are related to him,
- 15:03Speaker 1: but they stop him from throwing down, and one of
- 15:08Speaker 1: the guards comes by and is just like, oh, beaty, dubs,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you will get disqualified if you keep this up. So
- 15:15Speaker 1: and uh Chinjau actually turns out to be quite a
- 15:21Speaker 1: foe because Loofy punches him and says later to himself like,
- 15:25Speaker 1: I did not hold back on that punch, and this
- 15:29Speaker 1: dude just shook it off. Basically. Cavendish meanwhile, has a
- 15:39Speaker 1: sword called Durandahal, which sounds so familiar to me, and
- 15:43Speaker 1: I feel like this is a name that I should recognize,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and evidently this sword is super famous. I can't. I'm
- 15:54Speaker 1: wondering if this is a sword that Zoro would want.
- 15:58Speaker 1: You know, anytime a famous sword pops up, I definitely
- 16:02Speaker 1: start to be like Ooh, maybe Zorro will get this
- 16:06Speaker 1: sword and be magic more magic, you know, with this sword,
- 16:10Speaker 1: and he can't own every fancy sword. Natasha, get a
- 16:16Speaker 1: hold of yourself. So I had that thought, and I
- 16:21Speaker 1: wanted to share that I had it and admit to
- 16:23Speaker 1: you guys that that is where my mind immediately goes,
- 16:27Speaker 1: but also recognize the fact that it is not rational
- 16:30Speaker 1: and does not make sense, and I acknowledge that. Okay,
- 16:35Speaker 1: So Sarah Freim says, Drundell is one of those common
- 16:41Speaker 1: public domain artifact names. There are a lot of swords
- 16:44Speaker 1: named that in fiction. Okay, thank you, Because yeah, it
- 16:50Speaker 1: felt like it was almost giving, like Arthurian legend or something,
- 16:55Speaker 1: you know, And I was like, where am I getting
- 16:58Speaker 1: this from? And evidently, like it's weird how that sort
- 17:04Speaker 1: of thing can happen. It wedges itself into your subconscious
- 17:07Speaker 1: that you can recognize it when it pops up and
- 17:11Speaker 1: feel a little bit like that's bringing a bell and
- 17:14Speaker 1: yet you don't actually know why. So I'm trying to
- 17:20Speaker 1: jump around here because the stuff with you know what
- 17:24Speaker 1: I want to you guys, let's talk about bartel Leomeo
- 17:30Speaker 1: the Cannibal. I really need to admit something here, I'm
- 17:39Speaker 1: rooting for this guy. I don't really know why. I
- 17:47Speaker 1: think it's like one his overall look I really love.
- 17:54Speaker 1: There is just something about the the over over the
- 18:02Speaker 1: top but still actually feels like it's a little bit
- 18:05Speaker 1: within the realm of like possibility for a regular person.
- 18:10Speaker 1: You know, a lot of the people in this show
- 18:12Speaker 1: have an over the top look that I am like,
- 18:15Speaker 1: no human being would step onto the streets of a
- 18:18Speaker 1: city looking like this, And then there are people like
- 18:22Speaker 1: him that I'm like, that is a statement look, no doubt,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but he feels like almost punk rocky. And it might
- 18:34Speaker 1: be the nose piercing I don't know, but there's something
- 18:38Speaker 1: about him that really vibes for me as like, no,
- 18:42Speaker 1: this guy is kind of giving real life, you know.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And also the fact that he is just out here
- 18:49Speaker 1: fucking with everybody on a stage where people are taking
- 18:53Speaker 1: themselves so seriously. I think that's another part of it,
- 18:57Speaker 1: is like I really appreciate anybody who comes into a
- 19:04Speaker 1: place where folks are very high on themselves and desperately
- 19:11Speaker 1: trying to prove something according to a narrow interpretation of
- 19:16Speaker 1: what being the best is, or in this case, it
- 19:20Speaker 1: would definitely be masculinity, because once again we have like
- 19:24Speaker 1: no women fighting with that one girl that was in
- 19:30Speaker 1: three strips of half inch fabric is evidently the only
- 19:35Speaker 1: woman fighting in this entire tournament, which is very exhausting,
- 19:42Speaker 1: but sure so, I think that's what I enjoy is
- 19:46Speaker 1: the fact that he is like making fun of it
- 19:49Speaker 1: a little bit, you know, the way he just decided,
- 19:53Speaker 1: I'm going to take a piss in the water, you
- 19:55Speaker 1: know what, and it's simultaneously showing contempt for the whole
- 20:00Speaker 1: process of things, but also like later on he's like,
- 20:06Speaker 1: I'm standing here vulnerable with my wieder out. He literally
- 20:10Speaker 1: says these words, and I cackled so bad, because, as
- 20:13Speaker 1: it turns out, this is him just trying to lure
- 20:16Speaker 1: people to attack him. He has made himself into a
- 20:21Speaker 1: target by looking like he's vulnerable with his wiener out,
- 20:26Speaker 1: And in fact it's fine. He can fight just as
- 20:29Speaker 1: well with his back to you, only half paying attention.
- 20:32Speaker 1: It does not matter, And I think I respect that
- 20:36Speaker 1: as well, that it's like I'm gonna make fun of
- 20:40Speaker 1: you but also trounce you, and I like it. I
- 20:45Speaker 1: don't know, I just respond to this sort of thing
- 20:49Speaker 1: Sarah fem says cultural context time the Cannibal is a
- 20:53Speaker 1: case of accurate translation poor localization. It's a legit English
- 20:59Speaker 1: version of his title and literally man eater, but misses
- 21:03Speaker 1: the context, as that term is used over there to
- 21:05Speaker 1: describe someone who intentionally riles up and upsets people in
- 21:10Speaker 1: order to feed on their anger and frustration. A more
- 21:14Speaker 1: accurate localization would be Bartolomeo the troll. Oh boy, I
- 21:21Speaker 1: am rooting for a troll. I never thought i'd see
- 21:24Speaker 1: the day. I love it, though, you know what, Thank you,
- 21:28Speaker 1: sarahm I appreciate this context a lot. It just this
- 21:34Speaker 1: makes so much sense, and it makes so much sense.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Why I like him? Why am I so consistent? You guys?
- 21:41Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm really fucking textbook like you. Just
- 21:45Speaker 1: show me a power structure and a dude who decides
- 21:48Speaker 1: to come in and give it the finger while looking good,
- 21:52Speaker 1: and I'm just gonna be like, what's up? Yeah, Hey,
- 21:56Speaker 1: It's just I can't help it. I just can't help it.
- 21:59Speaker 1: So yeah, Barlomeo, I'm rooting for you. I also love
- 22:02Speaker 1: the fact that later on, when he hears I think
- 22:06Speaker 1: it's Avendish who yells out like straw ha, get back
- 22:10Speaker 1: here or something like that. Barlomeo is the one who goes, wait, straw,
- 22:16Speaker 1: hat is here? And he looks terrified. And I loved
- 22:23Speaker 1: this for so many reasons. One, Loofy is that frightening
- 22:30Speaker 1: to a guy like Barbolomeo who wasn't scared of anybody
- 22:33Speaker 1: out there on that stage. Two, Barloameo apparently is fine
- 22:39Speaker 1: with letting people know that he is that afraid of Loofy.
- 22:43Speaker 1: That was the part that kind of startled me, is
- 22:45Speaker 1: that he lets himself appear frightened. Now, granted, nobody is
- 22:50Speaker 1: really looking at him at that point, so it is
- 22:52Speaker 1: certainly possible that nobody noticed and he isn't letting himself
- 22:56Speaker 1: be frightened, that it just caught him off guard and
- 22:59Speaker 1: he let his guard down and people were around. But
- 23:04Speaker 1: I think that it's like another aspect of the overall
- 23:10Speaker 1: sense of proportion that he seems to have, where he's
- 23:14Speaker 1: making fun of these proceedings. But also when somebody who
- 23:19Speaker 1: is legitimately dangerous pops up, yeah, now he's got some
- 23:25Speaker 1: respect on it. Now he is kind of like, hold
- 23:28Speaker 1: on a second, wait, who's here? And this to me
- 23:33Speaker 1: points to a person who understands their limitations. He is
- 23:38Speaker 1: not so overly arrogant that he doesn't think he has
- 23:42Speaker 1: anything to worry about for anyone. He evidently understands that
- 23:47Speaker 1: going up against Lovie may be bad for him. But
- 23:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, there's just a lot about
- 23:54Speaker 1: this guy that is sort of speaking to me. That's
- 23:56Speaker 1: all I'm saying. And I have to mentioned too, that
- 24:02Speaker 1: Bellamy goes up against him. And I had really thought that,
- 24:05Speaker 1: like since we had our little chat with Bellamy before
- 24:10Speaker 1: and that there was going to be this moment out
- 24:14Speaker 1: here with him fighting, I really thought he'd get further
- 24:17Speaker 1: along in things than he does. He gets knocked out
- 24:21Speaker 1: by Bartolomeo. It you guys, Loofy has turned such a
- 24:30Speaker 1: corner on Oh my god, I just lost his name Bellamy.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I don't really feel like this man deserves it. Like,
- 24:47Speaker 1: in my opinion, all Bellamy said was, turns out you
- 24:54Speaker 1: were right about Skypeia, and I'm not laughing at you
- 24:59Speaker 1: anymore because but he also is like, yeah, I maybe
- 25:03Speaker 1: heard some people up there, and I'm still out here
- 25:05Speaker 1: doing fucked up shit, but I don't consider you my enemy.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And fucking Loofy is like ready to just, Oh, well,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna cheer for him now from the sidelines. Uh,
- 25:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry, did I miss the part where this guy
- 25:23Speaker 1: actually is like a decent person, because I don't see
- 25:28Speaker 1: how anything he has done warrants us cheering for him
- 25:33Speaker 1: or being on his side. And it is funny because
- 25:37Speaker 1: later on, when he like he's being carried out on
- 25:40Speaker 1: a stretcher and they pass Loofy, he says something to
- 25:43Speaker 1: Lufy about like, I can't believe that you were cheering
- 25:45Speaker 1: for me. That was so embarrassing, And at first I
- 25:49Speaker 1: thought he was gonna be like, can't believe you're cheering
- 25:51Speaker 1: for me, like, you know, wow, maybe you're not such
- 25:54Speaker 1: a bad guy, but instead he's just like, why the
- 25:56Speaker 1: fuck would you do that? And I thought that was
- 25:58Speaker 1: actually very funny, just the vibe of him being like, yes,
- 26:04Speaker 1: cheer for me. What is this? That really tickled me
- 26:08Speaker 1: because I feel like that seems consistent with the character
- 26:13Speaker 1: that I had gotten to know, and it feels like
- 26:17Speaker 1: the fact that Lufy seems to have softened towards him
- 26:19Speaker 1: is not something that he expected either, nor was that
- 26:22Speaker 1: what he intended by talking to Lufy. So it just
- 26:26Speaker 1: seems like he's a little confused as to how this
- 26:30Speaker 1: all even happened, which same same I don't like it.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't Loofy is just weirdly easy. He is the
- 26:43Speaker 1: kind of person that seems like he doesn't forgive things
- 26:47Speaker 1: that I think are very forgivable, and then there is
- 26:49Speaker 1: stuff that I think are unforgivable that he is like, well,
- 26:53Speaker 1: you gave me a sandwich, so now we're square, and
- 26:56Speaker 1: I'm sitting here like, what are you serious? But yes
- 27:01Speaker 1: he is. Indeed, he is very serious. So yeah, that's Loofy,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I guess. So Okay, I know I'm jumping all over
- 27:11Speaker 1: the place here, you guys, but I actually I feel
- 27:13Speaker 1: like I'm kind of touching on things barely, like reasonably,
- 27:20Speaker 1: considering how many different fights there are and how much
- 27:23Speaker 1: is going on. We also have this like blue haired
- 27:27Speaker 1: dude who apparently is from the long leg tribe, and
- 27:32Speaker 1: I really thought, because you know, we get a glimpse
- 27:36Speaker 1: of him, then somebody mentions he's from the long leg tribes,
- 27:40Speaker 1: so attack his eye or attack his legs. Oh my god,
- 27:44Speaker 1: you guys, I just had attack his eyes. And I
- 27:48Speaker 1: thought maybe on the first glimpse that I just hadn't
- 27:53Speaker 1: gotten a good look at him, and when they went back,
- 27:57Speaker 1: I was like, all right, long leg tribe, Let's see
- 28:01Speaker 1: this guy's like extra limb. You know how the long
- 28:05Speaker 1: arm tribe has two joints instead of one elbow, they've
- 28:10Speaker 1: got two elbows, and he doesn't have an extra joint
- 28:16Speaker 1: in his legs. His legs are they don't even seem
- 28:21Speaker 1: that long to me. So this was just it felt
- 28:28Speaker 1: like a little bit of a letdown, I'm gonna be honest.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And you know, he also has this very kind of
- 28:36Speaker 1: like high pitched voice that I didn't expect, and he's
- 28:40Speaker 1: really into baiting the people around him a lot, and
- 28:46Speaker 1: he just he's tiresome. I just did not enjoy this guy.
- 28:51Speaker 1: So the what winds up happening with him is that
- 28:57Speaker 1: he is eventually like it's almost down to just him
- 29:02Speaker 1: and the King, Like there's some of his other guys
- 29:04Speaker 1: in there, and you guys, the king and his one punch.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I've got to tell y'all, his name is Elizabello, the Second.
- 29:17Speaker 1: According to Florian's little chart that he gave me, his
- 29:26Speaker 1: whole deal is so boring. It is just so dull,
- 29:34Speaker 1: Like I just have to sit on the sidelines and
- 29:38Speaker 1: make sure nobody else attacks me until I can get
- 29:42Speaker 1: my power to the place that I want it, and
- 29:46Speaker 1: then eventually I'll punch you, and that one punch will
- 29:51Speaker 1: be the thing. And if I don't hit you, I'm
- 29:57Speaker 1: just fucked because I don't get a se shot at it.
- 30:02Speaker 1: That is the lamest shit I've ever heard. Everybody talks
- 30:05Speaker 1: about him in these hushed tones, like he is so
- 30:08Speaker 1: impressive and this is for me, the most like weak
- 30:15Speaker 1: sauce of any of the powers that we have come across.
- 30:19Speaker 1: It's just so dependent on so many other factors that
- 30:26Speaker 1: unless circumstances are set up exactly right, it feels absurd
- 30:34Speaker 1: and useless in a real fight, you know, Like I
- 30:40Speaker 1: just don't understand what we're doing with this guy. I'm
- 30:45Speaker 1: really glad that apparently, like because at first, for a
- 30:48Speaker 1: second it looked like he had like won for his block,
- 30:53Speaker 1: and I was just devastated because again, super boring. I
- 31:00Speaker 1: liked Bartolomeo a lot. I love that this announcer says
- 31:04Speaker 1: something more than once about how Barti Lameo is winning
- 31:06Speaker 1: the prize for most annoying pirate that just won't go away, y'all.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I have never related to anything so much. I loved
- 31:17Speaker 1: that so much. That is so funny to me. But yeah,
- 31:22Speaker 1: this overall deal with this king. I really hope the
- 31:30Speaker 1: fact that he lost that challenge means that we do
- 31:35Speaker 1: not have to deal with him again, because I find
- 31:38Speaker 1: him extremely tedious and his power. They all point out
- 31:43Speaker 1: like as it's gearing up to go, is potentially dangerous
- 31:49Speaker 1: to the people in the Colisseum, which it turns out
- 31:55Speaker 1: isn't true. Everybody appears to be fine, and he took
- 31:59Speaker 1: out all of his enemies without hurting anybody in the stands.
- 32:04Speaker 1: But it is unclear to me whether that is due
- 32:07Speaker 1: to his being very in control of his power or
- 32:12Speaker 1: if it is because he just doesn't have the kind
- 32:15Speaker 1: of power that people think he does. A lot of
- 32:19Speaker 1: the stuff that people are saying is sort of like
- 32:21Speaker 1: legend or rumor, you know. But anyway, the important thing
- 32:33Speaker 1: is Bartolomeo is the one that wins for this one.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I'm trying to just make sure I haven't missed anything
- 32:40Speaker 1: in the first episode because I kind of jumped into
- 32:43Speaker 1: the second one. I'm a little bit surprised. I'll say
- 32:48Speaker 1: this that the number of people who have found out
- 32:53Speaker 1: who Loofy is it's not actually a problem for him
- 33:00Speaker 1: to be in this competition, and I sort of thought
- 33:03Speaker 1: maybe it would be, because I fully expected that everybody
- 33:07Speaker 1: in there were going to be people who did not
- 33:09Speaker 1: already have devil fruit powers, because why would you fight
- 33:11Speaker 1: for a devil fruit if you've got devil fruit power?
- 33:14Speaker 1: So I kind of thought, if it turns out he
- 33:16Speaker 1: has them, he's going to be disqualified. And I don't
- 33:20Speaker 1: know if maybe it's just that the rumor of who
- 33:22Speaker 1: he actually is hasn't gotten back to anybody who's in charge,
- 33:28Speaker 1: but so far it's kind of seeming like it's it's
- 33:33Speaker 1: just in the King's power. I'm assuming that's due to
- 33:36Speaker 1: a devil fruit power. Bart not Bartolomeo, although maybe him,
- 33:41Speaker 1: but Bellamy his power is a devil fruit power. So, like,
- 33:46Speaker 1: I was going into this whole fight with the coliseum stuff,
- 33:49Speaker 1: thinking that we were getting Loofy having to hold back
- 33:53Speaker 1: on a lot of what he could do in order
- 33:56Speaker 1: to fit in with lower level fighters, and I thought
- 33:58Speaker 1: that would be kind of interesting, you know, because most
- 34:02Speaker 1: of what we see him do depends on devil fruit
- 34:06Speaker 1: and hockey, and just seeing how he manages when he
- 34:10Speaker 1: can't use those powers at all. I'm interested to see,
- 34:15Speaker 1: and we're not getting that after all. So I was
- 34:17Speaker 1: a little bit of a bummer, you know. Let's see,
- 34:22Speaker 1: Saraphim says, I took it as Bartow's barrier blocked the
- 34:26Speaker 1: majority of the punch so it didn't hit the stands
- 34:28Speaker 1: behind him. Oh, Saraphim, I'm seeing what you're saying. So
- 34:33Speaker 1: it's not like he had control. It's that Bartolomeo like
- 34:37Speaker 1: inadvertently saved people because he was trying to save himself,
- 34:42Speaker 1: which works Bartolomeo's power. He says at one point, I
- 34:49Speaker 1: ate the berry berry fruit so he can make barriers.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I really want to point something out you guys. That
- 34:59Speaker 1: had me laughing so hard because after he creates the
- 35:04Speaker 1: barrier and the king looks up and realizes that he
- 35:08Speaker 1: is not dead, bartile Mayo goes, what, you can't make
- 35:13Speaker 1: a barrier by crossing your fingers and doing this, And
- 35:17Speaker 1: it is just such a funny thing to say to me,
- 35:20Speaker 1: Like just just the specificity of it is just I
- 35:27Speaker 1: don't know. That one just really made me giggle to myself.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It was such a weird taunt, and especially because the
- 35:35Speaker 1: king seems so like puzzled about what's just happened? Why
- 35:39Speaker 1: is this guy still standing here? I really really enjoyed
- 35:42Speaker 1: that a lot. So let's see, Oh, I forgot about
- 35:48Speaker 1: these two that are like cheating allegedly, but it's just
- 35:51Speaker 1: because they're sort of distracting people. And then there's a
- 35:55Speaker 1: fighter that's like, h hey, what's up with that guy?
- 35:58Speaker 1: And the guy he's fighting he's like, are you you, sirius?
- 36:00Speaker 1: We're in the middle of a fight right here, and
- 36:03Speaker 1: the other guy is like, yeah, but look at that.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And there's just a lot of little moments like this
- 36:07Speaker 1: that I thought were genuinely very funny. Let's see, oh, right,
- 36:17Speaker 1: there's the fish man. He is the one that really,
- 36:21Speaker 1: like Bartolomeo makes the most humiliated, I think, because this
- 36:26Speaker 1: fishman comes up behind him and he has been doing
- 36:29Speaker 1: some karate into some really dope stuff, like somebody has
- 36:32Speaker 1: this massive spiked mace that they like bring down on
- 36:37Speaker 1: his head full force and it does nothing. So I
- 36:44Speaker 1: really like had high hopes for this guy. I found
- 36:48Speaker 1: him sort of interesting. And then Bartolomeo peeing. This is
- 36:53Speaker 1: the guy who attacks him while he's peeing, and he
- 36:58Speaker 1: comes up behind him and punches him, and Bartolomeo does
- 37:03Speaker 1: this whole like, oh no, like he's genuinely afraid, which
- 37:09Speaker 1: makes it all the funnier when you realize later on
- 37:12Speaker 1: that he knew he was perfectly fine, that there was
- 37:14Speaker 1: nothing to worry about. And when this man backs away,
- 37:20Speaker 1: his hand is just crushed and I think he broke it.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I'm not even sure, but clearly he is down for
- 37:29Speaker 1: the count right now. And I really felt bad for
- 37:34Speaker 1: this dude, but also you should have realized. I feel
- 37:39Speaker 1: like that this wasn't about to go that easily, like
- 37:43Speaker 1: this guy stepping into the ring and then just peeing
- 37:47Speaker 1: and ignoring everybody, like you really really you just thought
- 37:52Speaker 1: he just was gonna ignore everything and put himself at
- 37:57Speaker 1: risk like that, like no offense. But I do feel
- 38:00Speaker 1: like that's kind of on you if you fell for
- 38:02Speaker 1: the bait that easily. That's all I'm saying. So yeah, this, Uh,
- 38:10Speaker 1: there's so many people in this first bit that we
- 38:16Speaker 1: that we just weed out essentially, And I'm a little
- 38:20Speaker 1: bit worried because what was that Block B. I think
- 38:25Speaker 1: Block A went already by the time we come out here,
- 38:29Speaker 1: and Loofy is part of Block C, right, and I
- 38:36Speaker 1: think the girl had said she was part of Block D,
- 38:40Speaker 1: So do we have four? Am I right on this?
- 38:44Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get a sense of, like exactly
- 38:46Speaker 1: how many people we still have to go, because I really,
- 38:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest you guys, I really do not
- 38:54Speaker 1: want to sit through a bunch more elimination round like
- 39:00Speaker 1: this unless they find a way to make them feel
- 39:04Speaker 1: a lot more interesting. It just to me, it's like
- 39:10Speaker 1: it just like I said earlier, can we get on
- 39:13Speaker 1: with it already? You know, it's just this vibe of like,
- 39:17Speaker 1: al right, enough is enough? You know? A one one
- 39:24Speaker 1: by Jesus Burgers, says Florian. Florian, I have genuinely got
- 39:30Speaker 1: no idea what you're talking about? What is what was
- 39:37Speaker 1: that sentence? What? Seraphim? Yes, there are four battle royals,
- 39:43Speaker 1: then the four champions of those go against do Flamingo
- 39:46Speaker 1: family fighters for the prize. Okay, all right, so we've
- 39:50Speaker 1: only gotten through two. So we've got or yeah, the
- 39:53Speaker 1: first two one of them we didn't even see, so
- 39:56Speaker 1: we've got oh my oh god, round A was one
- 40:03Speaker 1: by Blackbeard's guy, Jesus Burgess. Oh my god, that was
- 40:09Speaker 1: just a case of really bad auto correct A one
- 40:12Speaker 1: one by Jesus Burgers. My God in Heaven, that is
- 40:16Speaker 1: fucking hilarious. Oh god, honestly, considering his name, it's surprising
- 40:29Speaker 1: that autocorrect has not already happened Jesus Burgers. It was
- 40:33Speaker 1: just a matter of time. So all right, let's jump
- 40:39Speaker 1: into the uh, the like last part of this, because
- 40:44Speaker 1: I've only got fifteen minutes left. So the whole thing
- 40:50Speaker 1: with the soldier that Frankie is with, there's this weird
- 40:55Speaker 1: thing where he doesn't want to like talk to Frankie
- 40:58Speaker 1: about what's actually going on here, and Frankie just finally
- 41:03Speaker 1: is like, all right, dude, well, if you're not going
- 41:04Speaker 1: to tell me anything, then sorry, but bye, and he
- 41:08Speaker 1: begins to walk away, and the little toy finally stops
- 41:14Speaker 1: him and is like, what is your intention in all
- 41:18Speaker 1: of this? And I didn't really even remember at this
- 41:22Speaker 1: point what we were talking about because we spend so
- 41:25Speaker 1: much time with these other folks, But basically what he
- 41:29Speaker 1: is asking is like, why do you want to know
- 41:31Speaker 1: where the smile factory? Is? Like? What is your interest here?
- 41:35Speaker 1: And Frankie explains, we want to destroy the factory and
- 41:41Speaker 1: the soldier says, well, you can't do that because I
- 41:46Speaker 1: want to save all the workers in the factory. And
- 41:51Speaker 1: Frankie says, oh, you want to get everybody out first,
- 41:55Speaker 1: And I'll tell you I was a little appalled. Guys.
- 42:01Speaker 1: It was just not even going to be like a
- 42:05Speaker 1: factor for you that you wanted to get the workers
- 42:09Speaker 1: who probably are just here for a paycheck, and don't
- 42:13Speaker 1: you know, like I guess, in the sense of one piece,
- 42:18Speaker 1: everybody who works at a place is always like complicit
- 42:22Speaker 1: a lot of the time. So maybe it was just
- 42:26Speaker 1: gonna be you know, like, maybe it's it's fine, But
- 42:29Speaker 1: I definitely had a moment of like deep disappointment in
- 42:33Speaker 1: Frankie and being like, bruh, come on, you weren't really
- 42:37Speaker 1: considering that aspect at all. He just seemed so surprised
- 42:42Speaker 1: by the fact that the workers are being considered here,
- 42:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But so the this is
- 42:56Speaker 1: when he says the thing with like, oh, you need
- 42:58Speaker 1: to know the terrible history of dress Rosa, and it
- 43:03Speaker 1: just ends and we don't get that history in the
- 43:06Speaker 1: next episode. So that was strange to me. So we
- 43:15Speaker 1: go to law Robin and Oh my God, and Oosop
- 43:23Speaker 1: and Caesar. It's the four of them together, and they
- 43:29Speaker 1: find they're they're like being approached by one of the
- 43:35Speaker 1: What is what is this new crew number? Because the
- 43:38Speaker 1: other ones were CP nine, So what is this group?
- 43:42Speaker 1: CP three C three po. But they is like they're
- 43:50Speaker 1: kind of seeming a little bit jumpy about this. It
- 43:54Speaker 1: seems as if Law suggests that one of them is
- 43:56Speaker 1: sort of coming for them CP zero iro agis, says
- 44:02Speaker 1: Sara fm Agius. I don't remember them saying that part.
- 44:08Speaker 1: What does agus mean? Did the other ones have like
- 44:14Speaker 1: a like CP nine blank DoD they have like another
- 44:17Speaker 1: word after it as well. Ag just means shield o. Okay,
- 44:23Speaker 1: oh right, this makes sense in the context of some
- 44:25Speaker 1: other magic I have heard. Okay, yeah, But anyway, Uh,
- 44:33Speaker 1: they begin to like cross this bridge and they get
- 44:38Speaker 1: attacked by a bunch of fighting fish. And it's very
- 44:41Speaker 1: funny because at first we aren't given a real good
- 44:46Speaker 1: reason why Law can't fight. He just says, there are
- 44:51Speaker 1: times and places when it's appropriate for me to fight,
- 44:54Speaker 1: and this is not one of them. And I genuinely,
- 44:57Speaker 1: you guys, I roll my eyes so fucking hard. I
- 45:01Speaker 1: was like, come on, you can't even now. Eventually he
- 45:05Speaker 1: gives us a real genuine reason why not. But like,
- 45:10Speaker 1: I really did have a moment of just profound frustration
- 45:15Speaker 1: because I thought it was just going to be for
- 45:18Speaker 1: the sake of the plot. Of course, he can't help,
- 45:22Speaker 1: you know, because we have to let our guys have
- 45:25Speaker 1: something to do, and he's basically like overpowered, so we
- 45:29Speaker 1: have to have reasons for him to not participate. And
- 45:33Speaker 1: I was relieved that we get an actual explanation later
- 45:37Speaker 1: where he explains what we're going to be going up against.
- 45:41Speaker 1: If I am depleted at all, it is going to
- 45:44Speaker 1: be very bad. So we need to make sure that
- 45:49Speaker 1: I don't use any of my power because it's going
- 45:53Speaker 1: to you know, we are really really going to need
- 45:56Speaker 1: to be sure we are on it. And Okay, I
- 46:01Speaker 1: accept that, but in the moment with him just saying like, well,
- 46:06Speaker 1: you know, there are times and places, I was just like,
- 46:08Speaker 1: for real, that's it. And it made me laugh. Later on,
- 46:13Speaker 1: when us Up says something like no, seriously, whenever you're ready,
- 46:17Speaker 1: you can chime in and help us, I was like,
- 46:20Speaker 1: good for you, us Up stand up to this motherfucker.
- 46:22Speaker 1: What the fuck is this?
- 46:23Speaker 2: You know?
- 46:25Speaker 1: And the fighting fish they all sort of pitch in
- 46:33Speaker 1: to help defeat them. It's uh us up first. Robin
- 46:38Speaker 1: then chimes in later, but it's really Caesar who does
- 46:42Speaker 1: the biggest bit of work. And when they finished, like
- 46:51Speaker 1: you know, getting these fish off their backs, they hear
- 46:55Speaker 1: some people celebrating and they start talking about like, oh,
- 47:04Speaker 1: this is great. I think they say something about like
- 47:07Speaker 1: now we can have our feast or they're celebrating something.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I feel like that they're catching this fish for like
- 47:13Speaker 1: a celebration. I don't know. And basically the whole story
- 47:22Speaker 1: about how like people have crossed this bridge, but I
- 47:25Speaker 1: have never seen any of them again. The story there
- 47:29Speaker 1: seems like it ends with people just settling on the
- 47:33Speaker 1: other side of the bridge, and they sound like they're
- 47:38Speaker 1: having a great time over there, Like, you know, from
- 47:42Speaker 1: what I could hear, people don't apparently feel like they
- 47:47Speaker 1: are on the outs. They don't seem like they were
- 47:51Speaker 1: trying desperately to get back and can't seem to find
- 47:54Speaker 1: their way. They seem like they sound as if they're
- 47:58Speaker 1: having a pretty good time. So I was sort of
- 48:03Speaker 1: curious about that. They yell over and try to get
- 48:05Speaker 1: the attention of these people, and I guess either those
- 48:09Speaker 1: folks don't hear them, or just don't feel like responding.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Maybe you didn't know that they could be heard, and
- 48:15Speaker 1: maybe don't want to be found. I don't know, but yeah,
- 48:20Speaker 1: the uh, Law, let's see. Oh yeah, there's a marine
- 48:28Speaker 1: ship that crashed into the island. I forgot about that part. Uh.
- 48:32Speaker 1: And it's it's fairly recent because Robin has binoculars, so
- 48:37Speaker 1: she can see, like there's all kinds of stuff that's
- 48:40Speaker 1: damaged that has happened not too long ago. But Caesar
- 48:47Speaker 1: is starting to be like, oh God, what is going
- 48:50Speaker 1: on here? Like this handoff was supposed to go smooth,
- 48:53Speaker 1: and now these marines are here. What is happening? Like
- 48:57Speaker 1: they could come in and try and nab me. And
- 49:04Speaker 1: he is sort of trying to get Law to see
- 49:06Speaker 1: his POV. And Law is like, I'm with the straw
- 49:10Speaker 1: Hats now, bruh, Like the Marines are therefore also my
- 49:14Speaker 1: enemy and I need their help. So no, I'm not
- 49:20Speaker 1: going to be working with them or figuring any of
- 49:23Speaker 1: this out. And he says something again about his powers.
- 49:26Speaker 1: And I thought it was interesting that, like in his head,
- 49:30Speaker 1: Caesar thinks to himself, this fucking idiot, does he really
- 49:35Speaker 1: think he stands any chance against o flamingo. And it's
- 49:42Speaker 1: one thing for a person to say that out loud,
- 49:46Speaker 1: I'm going to very much interpret it usually as bravado.
- 49:51Speaker 1: But the fact that he doesn't say it out loud,
- 49:54Speaker 1: that he just thinks it to himself, that says, to me,
- 49:58Speaker 1: this is something that he really believes and is genuinely
- 50:03Speaker 1: puzzled at the fact that law is still under this misapprehension,
- 50:07Speaker 1: and it's just sort of like, why is he still
- 50:11Speaker 1: like operating under this assumption. It doesn't make any sense,
- 50:16Speaker 1: So that's sort of interesting. I'm wondering about that. So
- 50:24Speaker 1: then we have our last thing, which is SOANGI and
- 50:28Speaker 1: Violet and y'all, I just love how this is going
- 50:33Speaker 1: so much. She does the like dramatic This for me
- 50:42Speaker 1: was really the giveaway that something was very wrong. She
- 50:49Speaker 1: stops and is like, this was selfish of me. I
- 50:54Speaker 1: shouldn't have asked. You should go save yourself, you know
- 50:59Speaker 1: that kind of thing. And it definitely was like giving
- 51:04Speaker 1: con artists, because the whole way that a con is
- 51:11Speaker 1: so convincing a lot of the time is that you
- 51:15Speaker 1: pretend and you do it really vehemently. It's not like
- 51:19Speaker 1: little sort of oh, no, you mustn't. It's you truly
- 51:23Speaker 1: behave as if what you want this person to do
- 51:27Speaker 1: is actually really dangerous, really risky, a bad idea, they
- 51:32Speaker 1: shouldn't do it, and you make them feel like, one
- 51:38Speaker 1: it's their own idea and two like you are the
- 51:43Speaker 1: weak one who doesn't have the same vision that they have.
- 51:47Speaker 1: And so what they're doing is like a real Maverick
- 51:50Speaker 1: sort of move, and that they're being really clever in
- 51:53Speaker 1: a way that nobody else would have thought to be clever.
- 51:56Speaker 1: So you really stroke their ego in the midst of
- 51:59Speaker 1: this whole thing. And you know she does this as
- 52:03Speaker 1: well with so like, I don't know why I even
- 52:05Speaker 1: asked you. I suppose it's because you're so strong. You know.
- 52:09Speaker 1: It's just very labeling it on. But it doesn't feel
- 52:13Speaker 1: like ladeling it on to Sanjy because he is insane
- 52:17Speaker 1: and does not have common sense and is a Dodo bird.
- 52:21Speaker 1: So Sangi is eating it up everything that she is
- 52:25Speaker 1: being over dramatic with. That is how he rolls on
- 52:29Speaker 1: a Tuesday, So it does not hit for him like
- 52:31Speaker 1: it's over dramatic. This is exactly the level of energy
- 52:35Speaker 1: that he thinks is appropriate because he's a banana's human being.
- 52:39Speaker 1: So she is like, do stop, don't and he's just like, ah,
- 52:44Speaker 1: it'll be fine, don't worry about it. And I love
- 52:47Speaker 1: when she says, you didn't even ask me why I
- 52:51Speaker 1: want you to kill this man, and SOANGI says, it's
- 52:58Speaker 1: not for me to question you. I don't have to.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Anybody who makes you cry or gets you this upset
- 53:06Speaker 1: needs to go. You guys, look, I know that this
- 53:14Speaker 1: is a very problematic stance to take, and I confess
- 53:21Speaker 1: that it's I know that. Okay, I know that it is.
- 53:28Speaker 1: But I adore this vibe, even though I know that
- 53:36Speaker 1: this is not rational or good. Just being like you
- 53:42Speaker 1: don't even need to explain it to me, I got it,
- 53:44Speaker 1: and going in to kill these guys. This is bad.
- 53:49Speaker 1: This is like I really, I want to make it clear.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I know that anybody who is this willing to take
- 53:55Speaker 1: it on faith with somebody they barely know, is a
- 54:00Speaker 1: chump and a sucker. So I am not really genuinely
- 54:05Speaker 1: defending this, but I'm just saying that I can't help
- 54:11Speaker 1: but love the vibe of a dude who just has
- 54:15Speaker 1: to be told a little bit of a thing and
- 54:18Speaker 1: instantly be on your side and ready to throw down,
- 54:22Speaker 1: because like the vibe here for me. And I've compared
- 54:27Speaker 1: this to Snapped episodes, and I've explained to you guys
- 54:29Speaker 1: already about how many men and their masculinity and their
- 54:34Speaker 1: instinct to protect women that gets played on so so much,
- 54:39Speaker 1: and it's a very easy trick to pull. So this
- 54:44Speaker 1: isn't like this is something that can be used for evil,
- 54:49Speaker 1: actually and is somewhat frequently. However, the other problem is
- 54:55Speaker 1: that so often women are not believed when it comes
- 54:59Speaker 1: to domestic violence and sexual assault. That in the real
- 55:06Speaker 1: world of like what most commonly happens, and not the
- 55:11Speaker 1: world of Snapped, which like that is the real world
- 55:14Speaker 1: because those things happen, but Snapped those stories are notable
- 55:17Speaker 1: because they are exceptions. You know, those are like particular,
- 55:20Speaker 1: egregious exceptions, and that is why they get the notoriety
- 55:25Speaker 1: that they get. The common everyday occurrence is that women
- 55:29Speaker 1: aren't believed and then they wind up dead at the
- 55:32Speaker 1: hands of a partner. I just can't help but love
- 55:39Speaker 1: the energy of instantly being like, Okay, well I'll kill him,
- 55:42Speaker 1: fuck him. I just I really like it. And once
- 55:46Speaker 1: again I know that this is not great, but it
- 55:50Speaker 1: just did something for me in this moment. Sanji has
- 55:53Speaker 1: been so annoying to me, and I'm just kind of
- 55:56Speaker 1: ready to like be on his side again a little bit.
- 56:00Speaker 1: So I've been really enjoying this little storyline because even
- 56:04Speaker 1: though he's being a total fool and so gullible, it's
- 56:11Speaker 1: all with this sort of attitude that I can't help
- 56:15Speaker 1: but ultimately kind of approve of in a lot of ways.
- 56:20Speaker 1: So he goes in and there's a dude playing poker,
- 56:25Speaker 1: I think, and he says something like, uh, well, no,
- 56:31Speaker 1: he doesn't like Louviy just kicks the door in. Dude
- 56:35Speaker 1: is sitting there, like, what do you want? And Lufy's like,
- 56:40Speaker 1: Violet sent me, and this guy says something like that
- 56:44Speaker 1: woman and Lufy says she has a name and doesn't
- 56:51Speaker 1: ask this guy either. It's just like, I'm here to
- 56:55Speaker 1: take down the man who made my girl cry, that's all,
- 57:00Speaker 1: and that's all. And then immediately launches into the thing.
- 57:07Speaker 1: And I've got to say the way that he takes
- 57:14Speaker 1: these guys down was very satisfying, even though I can't
- 57:18Speaker 1: help but know that like it's not going in the
- 57:21Speaker 1: right direction, you know, Like I know that he's being
- 57:25Speaker 1: played here. You can't help but know that, But it
- 57:28Speaker 1: also was so much fun to see everybody just get
- 57:33Speaker 1: laid out almost instantly. And then this dude takes her
- 57:37Speaker 1: prisoner for a second, and he's got the uh, he's
- 57:41Speaker 1: got a gun pointed to her head, and he's like,
- 57:43Speaker 1: don't move, and Sanji, in the middle of his sentence
- 57:50Speaker 1: just like basically teleports. But I think it's supposed to
- 57:54Speaker 1: be that he like flew in the air. I don't know,
- 57:56Speaker 1: and he is in front and under this man because
- 58:02Speaker 1: the guy is very tall and kicks him and sends
- 58:05Speaker 1: him flying. Now I don't think this man is necessarily dead,
- 58:10Speaker 1: but he is, for the moment taken care of. And
- 58:17Speaker 1: I can't you guys, I forgot I'm looking through this.
- 58:20Speaker 1: When Sanji kicks all these guys, you know how the
- 58:23Speaker 1: way the animation works is that you'll see his foot
- 58:26Speaker 1: hit one guy's face, and then it jumps and it
- 58:28Speaker 1: hits another guy's face, and like, all of these dudes
- 58:30Speaker 1: look very normal, batty kind of look. And then there's
- 58:34Speaker 1: just a guy whose house his head is a house
- 58:38Speaker 1: because he's a toy. But he's like the only one
- 58:41Speaker 1: in this whole crowd. That's a toy. And it was
- 58:44Speaker 1: so jarring because I know that those toy people are
- 58:48Speaker 1: on this island, but in this particular warehouse, with this
- 58:50Speaker 1: particular group of people, they all seem like regular people,
- 58:53Speaker 1: and I forgot all about it. So then when it's
- 58:56Speaker 1: like regular dude, regular dude, regular dude, househead, regular dude,
- 59:00Speaker 1: like wait what and then I kind of went, oh, oh, right, okay.
- 59:04Speaker 1: It was just really it felt so surreal for a second.
- 59:10Speaker 1: So eventually this dude goes flying and when you stand
- 59:18Speaker 1: in the way of love, I put my foot down.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I swear to god. That was such a hilarious line.
- 59:25Speaker 1: It's so perfect. He's just so dramatic, and Violet comes
- 59:30Speaker 1: up to him and says, oh, sany I was so scared.
- 59:36Speaker 1: It's all over. You're not hurt, are you?
- 59:39Speaker 2: No?
- 59:39Speaker 1: Thanks to you, and he just goes and then good
- 59:44Speaker 1: to hear. Listen, SONI if I could ask just one
- 59:51Speaker 1: more favor, only one, I thought you would have learned
- 59:56Speaker 1: by now, I do anything for you. And we get
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: a close up on her mouth and she says that's good,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, that lip curl, that's no good.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: And then she shackles him, wrists and ankles. Then here
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: is my final request. You must give your life to me,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: every last drop of it. Black leg and her eyes.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: They animated them so that it looks like fire flickering
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: in the darkest pits of hell. Her eyes look bonkers, kids,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: absolutely out of control, and it was very wonderful. I
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: just loved this so much. I don't know what it
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: is she's doing. And he's like, wait, what are you saying?
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: And she says, you really are a fool, and Sanji
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: just gasps looking into her eyes and it's just this
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: like extended reflection of himself in her eyes. And then
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: that's the end. That was the end of it. That's
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: where it ended. I was not ready for it to
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: just cut off right there with the to be continued.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I was so mad. What does she when she says
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I want every last drop of it? What does that mean?
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Because honestly, that is sounding either like blood or comb
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: which I'm sure Sanji would love one of those. But
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I feel like there's like a pulling of his power
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: out or something. Something about this is just feeling like
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I'm harvesting you, you know what I mean? It's are
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: are they making devil fruits out of people? Is that
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: how they're doing it? But Sanji hasn't eaten a devil fruit, right,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Like his power is like training basically, so I don't
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: feel like that could even work. I don't know, I
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know. But anyway, time for me
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: to wrap this up. But yeah, these were fun episodes,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: except part of it was a lot more fun than others.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: As you can tell, I'm much more into it and
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I'm excited to watch the next ones. So thank you
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: guys again so much for hanging out with me. I
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: appreciate you all so much. And thank you to Florian
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: for commissioning this episode. Thank you saraph and for all
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: the context and info on stuff. It's very helpful.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: And until next time to Blue motherfuckers.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: That was an unspoiled Network podcast.
