- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Well, hey, Steve and Jeff Show Band.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Thanks for singing us in.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: And I gotta tell you, all the millions out there, and tell you, Jeff, too, our listener numbers are going up, just like interest rates.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: And the diaper king, he's not happy about either one of those, let me tell you.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: But but but I digress.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: In case you have not heard any of our shows ever or have been living under a rock, you may not know Jeff had surgery on his shoulder and is in recovery now.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: He's recuperating.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: How how how you doing, Jeff?
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: How you feeling?
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: Well, recovery's good.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: You know, I was hopped up on a lot of pain meds, and so now I'm in rehab for that.
- 1:10SPEAKER_03: The shoulder, I you just reminded me that I had shoulder surgery because I've been so high from the drugs that those pills are good.
- 1:19SPEAKER_03: Oh god, Steve, they are the best.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: I'm seeing the world through different lenses.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: The only drag is that I am I have to keep going, you know, to the hospital to see my doctor and get checkups, you know, which means I have to take a couple hours where I'm not taking the pills, you know.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Well, of course, you you know, you could get an Uber and you could take the pills and you can be as high as you want, the Uber.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 1:45SPEAKER_03: And I used to drive an Uber, and you'll there you go.
- 1:48SPEAKER_03: See, so that reminds me.
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: Like, for example, I spent a night at the hospital.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: There's some cool things about being in the hospital.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: You don't want to be there in the middle of the night.
- 1:57SPEAKER_03: That's kind of a depressing thing.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: But I see that I was there at a regular time, and you're not gonna believe who I saw.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, I I bet it was your dad, right?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Because he he goes to the hospital every year, gets his blood, he gets that total body transfusion, gets his blood cleaned once a year.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: That's probably your dad, right?
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, ever since he saw that rolling read that Rolling Stones book, you know, about with Keith Richards about having your blood clean.
- 2:22SPEAKER_03: You're right, but oh he only gets that done, you know, every so often when he gets paroled, and he hasn't been a good boy lately.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: So he's not gonna get paroled anytime soon.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: No, it's supposed to be new duty.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: But I'm there in the waiting room and I'm looking, I'm seeing this guy that looks so familiar to me.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it and I think I heard someone call him Axel.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: He looked like he was a rock star, you know, like from the 80s, you know, the big hair guys.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and uh was it Society's Killers?
- 2:52SPEAKER_03: Was that oh I remember then?
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: They were Axel, somebody Axel Van Osburn, yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: I oh yeah, no, he was that must have been him.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I I wasn't even totally sure he was still alive, but I saw that he went to that 250th birthday bash that honored our king and incidentally marked 250 years since the declaration of independence.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: We understand it, he's the only performer who showed up.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: You know, was he how was he doing?
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: He was in the hospital there.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: I don't know how he was doing, but uh yeah, it looked like he was getting his blood cleaned, or you know, I mean he looked good, you know.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: So yeah, he had so uh probably there for some cosmetic surgery that went bad, you know, like most of those rock stars in the 70s, you know, they they they want to keep looking just like they did before, but I I did hear about him.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: I know he was he's gotten pretty political, and that he was actually on tour with Rob Schneider.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: I I didn't know he was funny.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Well, he's not.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Uh you're you're you're talking about Rob Schneider, right?
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I know Axel's not funny.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: He was a rocker, but no, yeah.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: No, I met Schneider, but you know, as far as the rocker, I heard that he is actually campaigning for a lot of MAGA politicians running for office in the midterms.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: You know, he considers himself a real American hero, which of course I think that's what the band was called before they were called Society's Killers.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Because they went, I they went to some pack meeting or something and they decided that they were all domestic terrorists.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: So they said, Well, we're gonna change their name to Society's Killers, something like that.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: But yeah, oh, he was great back in the day.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Man, he was quite the rocker.
- 4:29SPEAKER_03: Is that a trend with these you know rock bands?
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Like, isn't there a guy who was the guy that had the famous song Catnip Seizure?
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: Was that it?
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, I remember him, yeah.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, isn't he thinking Ted Nookett?
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, his name is a soft brain, yeah.
- 4:47SPEAKER_03: Right, well, we don't have Ted here, but I do have a treat for you, Steve.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: Normally you book all the all the talent.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: That's my pleasure.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: And technically, I'm not sure I'm booking talent, but well, you get a guest.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: I have a guest.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: They call it in TV radio, they call all the guests talent.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: It's in quotes.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, is that right?
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Is that what they mean?
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, they call them talent.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the talent this, the talent.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it's in like two sets of quotes, you know.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 5:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, then then fine.
- 5:18SPEAKER_03: Then I do have the talent.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: So I invite him to come to the show and tell us what he's doing and maybe you know help us understand the MAGA movement a little bit better because it's a little confusing right now.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: So yeah, where he is right now.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, he you mean you mean that he's just the other side of that glass?
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: Yes, at the other side of the glass.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: I I don't tap, so could you do that for me and maybe do the intro?
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what the heck?
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: Okay, good.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Well, let's get him on the show.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Stephen Jeff's show, Axel.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: My gosh, I have all your records from back in the day.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Now I haven't bought one since 1984, but yeah, I got all the old ones.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: Well, 1984 would be one of the newer ones.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, great, okay.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: All right, well, then I'm caught up.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Now, should I call you Axel?
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: Should I call you Mr.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Van Osborne?
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, no, no.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: Van Osborne, that was my father's name.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: And and what the girls used to call me at the after parties.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Just call me Axel.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, on your show.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it's great to have you on the show.
- 6:21SPEAKER_03: I love celebrities.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: You are certainly uh qualify as a celebrity, and I I don't even know where to start.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: Um my little sister just loved you and actually got an autograph from you after a show in Boston.
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: You were very kind to her.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: I you left quite a quite a mark on her, literally.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: Oh, yes.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Well, sorry about that.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: I did like to mark them up a little bit back in the day, just just to make sure that everybody knew who belonged to who backstage.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: It was a crazy, crazy time.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: But you know, I did sign a lot of autographs back then.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Boston was a great town.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: Great town.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, especially when Aerosmith was out of town because that left more drugs for the rest of us.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: Actually, it left any drugs for the rest of us.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: Aerosmith getting out of town, let me tell you.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: But I signed a lot of autographs on those uh official American Heroes forms stating that I had no idea how old people were, especially the girls.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: You know, if they looked 16, it was worth an autograph.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: In fact, uh that's when I uh met the king.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Not Elvis.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: I never met that king.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: He died on the throne long before I was a thing.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: But uh I met our our current king, and uh he had a similar form, and uh, he was nice enough to mimeograph off a few copies for me to to use on my own.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: I I still use them.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, better safe than sorry.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Funny thing, my sist my little sister Mary had to sign one of those forms too.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: She actually saw you in Montreal, and you know, she didn't feel she wasn't feeling so good a couple weeks after she saw you in Montreal, and you actually paid for her to see your own personal doctor free of charge.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: I we appreciate that.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: Well, I believe me, I was glad to do that.
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: Oh, wow, that's it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: My doctor, I sent a lot of folks to my doctor, various things, mind you.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: But uh you know, he used to call me Mr.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Boat because I bought him a boat.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: In addition to all of the people that I sent to him, I bought him a boat.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: And this is the kind of guy.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: But you know, in all in all honesty, Canada's just terrible.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: I hated playing there.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I I regret I regret that leg of the North American tour.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: They're just the worst.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Nobody throws cherry bombs, they're always apologizing.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: They got nothing to teach us, and they're they're just leeching off of us.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: And I I'm not gonna give them any more of my music.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: If they want music, they can just go ahead and get it from Bruce Springsteen or BTO, as far as I'm concerned, or Celine Dion's back in the news.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: That's Canada for you.
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: I absolutely have to agree that Canada's not the Canada that we knew when we were growing up.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: You know, they've completely changed.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: I I I hear that they're actually in the tariff business and that they're imposing them on us, which I'm just so against tariffs being posed on imposed on us.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: And and I just can't believe that they would do that.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: How ungrateful can they be?
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, we have been their friends forever.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: And who's our friends?
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Putin and the king.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: Putin and the king, those are our friends, those are the people that you can actually rely on.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: They do what they say they're gonna do, and they do it when they say they're gonna do it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: By gum.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Wow, you know, I gotta say, Putin, you're talking about Putin.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: I hear that him and his friends are the best wedding planners on earth.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: I, you know, you know, the top-level people go to them for wedding, wedding planning.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Look, I know you love our king and the MAGA movement, but you know, actually, if you don't mind, I'd I've got some questions that maybe can help show how your views align with the movement.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: I think that would help, you know, let's face it, Jeff, the millions that are listening here to understand, come understand your your thought process and the movement.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: Well, sure, ask away, or as or as we like to say at the uh Second Amendment movements, shoot.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Very good, very good.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Well, first, speaking of the Constitution, let's talk about our individual rights and the Constitution.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: Now, I assume you're a big fan of that.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: Well, I honestly I haven't gotten past the Second Amendment.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Once you find a winner, you might as well.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: You know, it's like in in the music business.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: When you do your big encore and everybody's on their feet yelling your name, stop, don't come out again.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: You can only disappoint.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: So once you get to the right to keep and bear arms, there's no reason to go on.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Pretty soon people's gonna be telling you, you know, you're gonna read things about not having to, oh, I don't know, answer questions to the police or not submit to a search, or not quartering troops.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: I mean, crazy stuff like that's bound to come up.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: So I just stop it too.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Keep my guns and go on.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: So yeah, you know, that's also a thing in Canada, too.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: They get really, really, really perturbed when you're just firing off a few rounds outside the holiday inn on a on a Saturday night.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: And I mean, you know, when you're loaded, you gotta unload.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Am I right?
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Am I right?
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: And besides, guns don't kill people.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Apparently, one guitar that I threw off the stage did, but the guns never killed anybody.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: And I you know what, I cannot argue with that because there would be no point to it.
- 12:03SPEAKER_03: But you do believe in some gun control, though, don't you?
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, absolutely.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: You gotta control where you're pointing that thing.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Aim it at a fire extinguisher.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: That's always fun.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Um those things go off, they spray everywhere.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: It just it's it's oh my god, it's a rite of passage, really.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: That sounds very refreshing.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: I gotta ask though, too.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: You know, a big issue that a lot of people are talking about, a lot of people are very concerned about, are the Epstein files and some of the people in those files and what may be contained in there, and some of the crimes that really aren't aren't being pursued, aren't being punished.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: How do you feel about the Epstein files?
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: Honestly, I I never heard their work.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: I I mean I never opened for them.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: I don't have any of their CDs or anything like that.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: So I'm not familiar with the Epstein files.
- 12:55SPEAKER_03: I heard that too.
- 12:56SPEAKER_03: It's an acquired taste, I think.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: Not a taste that I have acquired yet, but let's move on to the hot buttons, you know, now that you're working for the king.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: Let's start with taxes.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: I know Steve and I have had a number of shows about taxes.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: Steve, remember we had a show about paying taxes under the king's new administration?
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: And we did our taxes actually live on the show.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: And it got a little confusing.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: And yeah, the one thing that I I heard feedback from people was that the taxes are only for rich people, that that they don't pay them, that everybody else has to pay them.
- 13:31SPEAKER_03: Is is that true?
- 13:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, you're a rich guy.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: Do you pay taxes?
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: Of course not.
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: Never have, never will.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: You know, that's that's another reason to just snuggle on up to the MAGA party, is you know, you're right, I am a rich guy.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Um, I can I have, you know, I'm I do okay.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: I'm not like Bill Gates rich, but I do get Bill Gates level of of women, but I'm not Bill Gates rich.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: But still, I can pony up a few thousand dollars for a pardon when I need to.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Well, and if you're getting women that look like Bill Gates, I mean, you're you're you're you're living in Clover right now, let me tell you.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: I gotta ask you about one issue that really kind of separates the MAGA movement from, well, I don't know, pretty much everybody else, and that's the the issue of Greenland.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: You know, the thought that, hey, we're gonna take over Greenland.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: We're going to, it's gonna be like an American territory.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: What are your feelings on that?
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: You know, they got no concert venues up there.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: They got nothing.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: It is ripe for development.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: People like cold weather.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: I can't explain, you know, it's the Canada alternative.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Once we get up there, we will build Canada in our own image.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: It'll call be called Greenland, but it'll be Canada in our image.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: The Danes they're not doing anything with it.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: The Eskimos, I don't even know if they're called Eskimos anymore.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: But you know what?
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: When we get Greenland, we'll put some concert venues in there, put a casino in there, maybe put in a, I don't know, an old timey uh whaling vessel, you know, you can pay some extra dough, go out on a whaling mission.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Sell some Eskimo pies.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, come on.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: Well, that'll get you in the Epstein files.
- 15:23SPEAKER_03: Well, and speaking of uh hot buttons for Black Lives Matter, BLM, I hear that in Canada it's called ELM.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: I don't even know what the E stands for.
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: Indigenous, indigenous?
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: I'm not even sure.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: But you know Edmonton.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: It's Edmonton, it must be that.
- 15:42SPEAKER_03: I agree with you.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: It's Canada just needs to really get their act together, I think.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: You go and you talk to them, and they're all so polite.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Uh they'll tell you, oh, could you just please go shove it?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: And it's like, you know, get off the fence.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Tell me to shove it or don't tell me to shove it.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: I grew up in a rough neighborhood.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: Grew up on the south side of Dubuque.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's rough.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: A lot of fighters came out of that neighborhood, yeah.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: You know, another issue that is is kind of dividing to some extent the the MAGA movement is of course the war.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: So I uh what are your views on on war?
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: What is it good for?
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: Winning the midterm.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: That's what it's good for.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: Get people's minds off of things, you know.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: I digress.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: I I've heard that.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: I heard a very wise man talk about digressing.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: I think too.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: That guy's pretty smart.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: If you're gonna shoot a missile, shoot it at someone else, I always say.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, don't shoot the missiles at yourself.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: And speaking of just makes that sense.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and when you're when you're talking about war, I think we we all admit that Cisco Kid was a brilliant song.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you played that when you were on tour or not.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Or we got way too many Cisco's around here now, if you're asking me.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: So that whole Eric Burton experiment just didn't work at all.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: He was a nice guy though.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, you knew you knew Eric Burton.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, sure.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Short guy, deep voice.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: He he was an interesting guy.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: And I mean, you know, the House of the Rising Sun, I was this many years old before I knew that that was actually about a brothel.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: I didn't know that.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 17:36SPEAKER_03: There we go.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: Now we're all this many years old.
- 17:38SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: Probably a Canadian brothel.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: You know, because we don't have the good one.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: It was a good one.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Well, and and you know, in Canada they have the midnight sun, so it wouldn't be rising, it'd be, you know, always omnipresent.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: The house of the omnipresent sun that just that's just it doesn't sound musical.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: It doesn't track, you know?
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: It's not.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: So the worst thing about a Canadian brothel is you always gotta ask.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Everything's please and thank you.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Please and thank you.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: But the donuts are so good.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: You have to admit, they they have really good donuts at those points.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, and if you go in Quebec, you can get some beignets.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Ooh, yeah.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Well, they got some good stuff.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but you can also get a balm for the beignets, too.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: I'll send it to my doctor, you know the word.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I may need some of the medical help.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: So get you all fixed up for your beignets.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: You know, another issue that's out there and people are talking about and variety of opinion about, uh, you know, the whole reflecting pool thing, which is kind of kind of part of really is part of the whole rehabbing of Washington, D.C.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: that this MAGA movement is doing, the rebuilding and knocking things down.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: What are your thoughts on the reflecting pool?
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: Uh the it's now green, of course.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: I am all for the green.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: I like everything green.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Uh, if you ask me, way better than blue.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: Uh green is, of course, the color of money.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: Green is, of course, the color of weed.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: Green is, of course, the color of um most wearable fashion.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: So if you're asking me, perfection, sometimes sometimes perfection is an accident.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: You're not trying to be perfect, but all of a sudden you are.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: So you're trying to make this reflecting pool reflect.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: But then you know what?
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: You have some cost overruns and it turns green.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: A perfect color of green.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_03: I'd vote for you.
- 19:44SPEAKER_03: I'd vote for you right now.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: Are you are you planning on running for office at some point?
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: At some point, yes.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking the Senate seat in uh Maine is going to come open in about six years.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: And believe me, I have way fewer skeletons in my closet as an 80 hair metals icon than that clown did up there in Maine this time around.
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: Woo!
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:09SPEAKER_03: Well, there may be one opening up in Kentucky.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: I'm not completely sure about that.
- 20:14SPEAKER_03: What uh I I've heard rumors.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Well, and I think the way to campaign for that seat is to lie still and not say anything.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: That seems to work.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I don't know.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: But it's always worked for me.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: Lay still and shut up.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, you know what I gotta ask.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: You're probably you're probably behind this change, and and maybe, hey, maybe you're even thinking about joining the FBI now that Cash Patel has made it okay for BCLity to be on your record.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, given your exploits in the 80s, you know, that might that might appeal to you.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, I've always been a fan of cash, and I've always been a fan of, well, you know, everything cash stands for.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: Um can't have a better name than cash.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Um, well, credit, maybe.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: Cash and credit.
- 21:09SPEAKER_03: It would be a bestiality boys, a great band, right?
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: The bestiality boys.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: We opened for them.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: We opened for them on a on a tour once.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: Nice guys.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Nice, nice guys.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: Unbelievable.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: They were willing to fight for your right to party.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: And I was not, I was not.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: I would not fight for anyone's right to party.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Well, fight for your own right, oh, not yours even, huh?
- 21:38SPEAKER_03: No, no.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: Here I am recovering from surgery, heisekite, and I was listening to a podcast, and they brought up this subject.
- 21:50SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you're familiar.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: It's it's A Y A I A I don't know what it is, I don't know what the second line is.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: I don't know if it's Axel.
- 22:01SPEAKER_03: Maybe that's your middle name or whatever.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: No, I think it's that it's that thing that's gonna kill everybody on Earth.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I really think.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: I couldn't put my finger on it.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: Do you do you have an opinion about this?
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: If AI was around back when you were in your heyday, would you worry that you'd be replaced?
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: Absolutely not.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: AI can do a lot of things.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: It can write a good song, but it can't come up with the concept of a song.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: So, you know, if you're trying to woo the pants off of high school girls, maybe AI can help you do that.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: But it's not gonna know what to do once it succeeds.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: So that's what you need rock stars and billionaires for to know what to do when the opportunity uh presents itself.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: So AI can get you there, but can't get you there.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: I've never heard wiser words spoken in my life.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: You know, actually, this has been great.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I unfortunately they are gonna kick us out of eccentric Lady Land Studios here.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: I know you've you've been kicked out of a few studios yourself, so you probably relate to that.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: I I just want to thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, hey Jeff, I did hear you say you're high as a kite.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Um listen, those painkillers, when you're coming down, my big suggestion is you put on a pair of wet socks, cook yourself a really greasy hamburger, eat that, get about 14 hours of sleep, you'll wake up wanting to do it all over again.
- 23:36SPEAKER_03: I took notes.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: I gotta try that.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 23:40SPEAKER_03: And you know, and good luck to you.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: I know that you're you're up uh for I know you were nominated for the Hall of Fame.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: I assume that's the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: Actually, it's the South Dubuque Hall of Fame.
- 23:52SPEAKER_03: Wow, those are hard to get into.
- 23:54SPEAKER_03: It's it's difficult.
- 23:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, good luck on that too.
- 23:57SPEAKER_03: I hope we maybe we can help you.
- 23:59SPEAKER_03: Maybe our audience will help you.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: Maybe there'll be like a uh a rally, like maybe like October 17th or something where people will come out in your honor.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: So I'm in.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Thanks so much for coming in, Axel.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: And hey, Steve and Jeff Show band.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Now you got a rocker here.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: You better, you better sing us out well.
- 24:26SPEAKER_04: This has been a fading talent production.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: In association with one last gas media read, all about our hosts at stevenjeff.com.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: We are the honored to stay on a show featuring one of our major musical influences.
- 24:45SPEAKER_04: Axel Van.
- 24:49SPEAKER_04: Lyrics.
